Hello wrestling
fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling
Newsletter. We are back in blistering
Phoenix, AZ and we expect the temperature to continue to climb as GM Master
Bull meets with selected members of the roster to determine who will and will
not have a contract moving forward.
Phoenix has its
own bunch of updates.
First, Scooter
J. Last we saw him, he was hospitalized
after taking a double whammy from the team of Hardcore Hensen and Nix
Anderson. Anderson and Hensen were
double teaming TNT and Scooter J threw himself into the fire taking the shot
that was meant for TNT. TNT visited
Scooter J in the hospital only to leave with more questions than answers. We’re told that Scooter J was released from
the hospital and is recovering at home.
We were also granted a sit down at Scooter J’s home between him and
TNT. That will be later in the
show.
At the August PPV,
after Ruth Heartless made a call that didn’t go over very well, the Regulators
ended up walking out on the Banker costing themselves the 6 man titles. The Banker has promised a resolution tonight.
Just before the
show officially kicked off, we’re introduced to a newcomer by the name of
Apollo Gyze. He comes into the arena
strutting like he’s the sh*t. He appears
to be taller than we expected but, ah, we see, he wearing what appears to be 3”
platform shoes. I guess he wants to seem
taller than he really is??? Anyway,
Apollo walks in and purposely bumps into another newcomer Tommy Lightning. Tommy says “Hey buddy, you bumped me on
purpose. I think you need to
apologize.” Apollo turns to him and says
(in his best Mr. T voice) “Apollo Gyze don’t apologize” and he walked
away. Tommy then sought out GM Master
Bull and asked that he debut in the ring tonight against Apollo. Master Bull granted the match.
We also saw the
Mexicali Flyers (Tornado en Fuego and El Dragon Insano) become the new World
Tag Team Champions at the PPV. Tonight,
the former champions the Desperados (El Chango and Leon Teremoto) have demanded
their rematch for the belts and that will also be tonight.
Master Bull adds
another new person to his roster; a lady by the name of Leslie Grimes from
Bouymoure, Australia, makes her debut in the ring tonight.
Lastly, we saw the
Hardcore Champion Hardcore Hensen sort of lose it back in Tacoma at the last
show. A clip is shown with Hensen
demanding to know “How much for the plastic surgery, man?” (Protocide appears
to be someone from Hensen’s military past but Hensen acts like he’s returned
from the dead. The mind games are sure
to continue but Hensen is here to defend his title and we’re not quite sure he’s
of sound mind.
Pyro goes off and
our first match is ready to go. First,
Tommy Lightning comes out to a small pop from the crowd. He rushes down to the ring and slides under
the bottom rope. He tries to get the
crowd pumped but they just don’t know enough about him yet. Next, the music changes and out comes his
opponent Apollo Gyze. Apollo walks down
to the ring with a very narcissistic air about him. He gets in the ring and bumps Tommy
again. Tommy’s not happy with him but
Apollo doesn’t seem to care. The match
begins with Apollo in control for the majority of the match however he started
to get snarky with the ref and the ref had to warn him a few times. At the 17 minute mark, Apollo connects with a
delayed vertical suplex. He makes the
cover and gets the 3 count. Apollo gets
the win in his debut match. As he was
getting up, he bumped HARD into the ref.
The ref, already upset with Apollo who was taking many liberties with
the rules, told him to apologize. Apollo
turned to him and said “Apollo Gyze don’t apologize”. The ref then reversed his decision
disqualifying Apollo and instead awarded the match to Tommy Lightning. Apollo started to go off and Tommy and the
ref left the ring leaving Apollo standing in the ring yelling at practically everyone. Finally, he left.
We cut to an
off-site scene at the home of Scooter J.
He seems to be recovering well.
He is visited by TNT. Templeton
is at a loss why Scooter J came to his aid when the two of them just got done
beating the hell out of each other. TNT
tells him he’s always thought of TNT like a younger brother and felt that he
has the potential to be something greater and needed to get him out of his
shell. He also said that there aren’t
many teams in HCW that can fight the threat that Nix Anderson and Hardcore
Hensen are bringing and feels that the two of them can work together to make
those realities happen. The two men then
reconcile shaking hands and SJ says that if TNT needs him, he’ll be around.
We cut back to the
ring for our next match. Master Bull’s
other new hire Leslie Grimes makes her way out to the ring to a small pop from
the crowd. Next, Taylor Bella comes out
and the fans boo the hell out of her.
The two begin almost immediately with the veteran Taylor controlling the
pace of the match. However, the longer
it went on, the more Leslie started gaining momentum and by the 16th
minute, the tide had turned and Leslie was in control. Leslie connected with a Lou Thesz press and
went for a pin only to get a two count.
She then popped up and just as Taylor made it to her feet, Leslie drops
her with a running clothesline. She made
the cover and this time, hooked the leg and she got the 3 count. Leslie gets the win in her debut match. The fans responded a little more positively
this time and she made her way to the back with a big ol’ smile on her face.

Backstage, the
Banker is meeting with the Regulators (Mule and Mammoth) and is trying to
convince them that HCW still needs Regulation and asks them what he can do to
smooth things over. Mammoth tells him that
Ruth Heartless needs to go. The Banker
isn’t happy with that. He tells them
that she is integral to their success.
Mule says it’s her or them. The
Banker sighs and says he’ll go talk to Ruth.
Next up, we have
Wilber Townsend taking on Texas Wildfire.
Wilber comes out first and, of course, is booed. Even though there is still a smattering of
people who think he got screwed in the King of the Ring match, most still don’t
like him. Next, Texas Wildfire comes out
and the fans pop HUGE for him. He makes
his way down and gets in the ring. The
match begins with TW controlling the pace of the match. Wilber tried to get in a cheap shot by
throwing TW into the steel post but Wildfire was able to roll with it to
minimize any damage the post would surely have done. TW then grabs Wilber and leaps into the air
and drops Wilber on his head with a DDT.
Wildfire makes the cover and gets the 3 count. The fans pop even louder as TW celebrates and
then leaves. Wilber leaves shortly
thereafter.
Cushman Armitage
and Emmett Millbarge show up and make their way to the stage. The fans boo them and they wait just long
enough for there to be a break in the noise.
They say that they may have lost their attempt to buy a wrestling
federation however they are not out of the wrestling business. They say that they will offer a contract to
anyone not happy in HCW to come work for them.
Armitage said that both Bull and Max will not allow him to cherry pick
from the roster but those who are released or choose not to have their
contracts renewed are open to come talk to him.
They turn around and leave.
Our next match is
ready to go. First, the Regulators (Mule
and Mammoth) come out followed by the Banker.
The trio are booed but seem united as they head down to the ring. Next, their opponents the Steel Curtain (Buzz
and Starbuck Steel) and the fans pop HUGE for them. They high-five the fans as they make their
way to the squared circle. The
Regulators took input from the Banker and they managed to control the match for
the first 11 minutes of the match. At
that point, Ruth Heartless made her way out and she was not happy. The Regulators told her to leave but she
refused. She even started to get into an
argument with the Banker. The Steel
Curtain were able to use the distraction to their advantage and turn the tide
of the match. At one point, Mule got so
irritated with Ruth that he left the ring and began yelling at Ruth and the
Banker (he didn’t seem to be doing anything to get her to leave). Mammoth also got caught up in the chaos and
Starbuck locked in a small package and got the 3 count. The Steel Curtain get the win and then
immediately leave as the drama within Regulation was coming to a head. Mule got back in the ring and was joined by
the Banker. Mule and Mammoth were
steaming and they demanded that the Banker fire Ruth right here and now. Ruth then entered the ring with a steel
chair. The Banker immediately pulled it
away from her. She started to yell at
Regulation but then Mule hit the ground after the chair shot from the
Banker. Mammoth turned around only to
get hit in the head with the chair. The
Banker then hit both men repeatedly with the chair until the thing was a mangled
mess. The Banker then disposed of the
chair and Ruth held his arm high as the fans booed. They left and Mammoth and Mule had to be
helped to the back. (18 min for the
match; 5 for the aftermath)
The Desperados (El
Chango and Leon Teremoto) are backstage and they say that the Flyers got lucky
in their win at the PPV but they definitely are not the better team. Leon says that they are confident that they
will regain the titles tonight as they are willing to put the career of
whomever gets pinned on the line.
Basically, if El Chango or Leon get pinned, that person will be out of
HCW. When asked if they thought such a
drastic move was necessary, El Chango said that this will only go to show who
the best team is.
Back in his
office, Master Bull meets with the Duchess about a contract extension and she
says that her contract expires at the end of October and that will be it for
her. She says that Cushman has promised
her the #1 spot in the Ladies division in his new Alliance and she wants
in. She wants her final HCW match to be
against Scarlett Phoenix. Bull says ok
and pencils it in for the October PPV.
Our next match is
for the Hardcore Title. First, Outback
Oscar makes his way out to the ring to a nice pop from the Phoenix crowd. Next, the Hardcore Champion Hardcore Hensen
and his manager ‘the Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher make their way out to
booing from the crowd. Hensen, still
disturbed by the reveal from Protocide, goes right on the offensive in this
Boot Camp rules match. Hensen totally
dominated his opponent barely allowing Oscar to get in 4 moves the entire
match. The vicious onslaught came to a
conclusion when Hensen hit Oscar with a series of hard chops. He went for the cover and hooked the leg (and
the tights for good measure although it really wasn’t needed) securing the 3
count and the win. Hensen stood up and
looked around waiting for the ambush to come but never materialized. He grabbed his title and he and Preacher
left. (9 min)
The World Tag Team
Champions the Mexicali Flyers say that the Desperados are one of the toughest
teams they’ve ever faced but it wasn’t luck but skill that earned them these
belts. El Dragon Insano said that El
Chango is taking a great risk by putting his or Leon’s career on the line all
for a title shot. Tornado en Fuego says that
if that is what the Desperados want to do…fine.
The belts though have a new home and this is where they are staying.
It’s time for our
main event. First, the Desperados (El
Chango and Leon Teremoto) come out first to a pop from the crowd. Next, the music changed and out comes the
champions the Mexicali Flyers. Tornado
en Fuego and El Dragon Insano high five the fans all the way down to the
ring. The Desperados are ready for
action and they are anxious to get this one started.

The Mexicali
Flyers get the win and retain their titles but that means El Chango is now out
of HCW. He cannot believe it. At first, he was really pissed but then
settled down. He approached the Flyers
and stuck out his hand. They shook it
and then departed. El Chango gave Leon a
hug and then Leon went to the back allowing El Chango his final moment in an
HCW ring alone. The fans started a “Thank
you El Chango” chant and he made his way up the ramp for perhaps the final
time. He turned, saluted the fans, and
then disappeared behind the curtain.

ReplyDeleteHow in the hell did I win and lose my debut match?
This is an outrage my character has waiting weeks to debut and when I finally this is the type of ending I receive. First of all I think it’s crap that you would have me face off against a bum like Tommy Lightening, no offense but what titles has he previously held,, Go head Ill wait……….
The most obvious point is that you really like the kid, as soon as he asked for a match with 10th World wonder meself you granted it to him. Which I feel is pretty inconsiderate since I have my own plans an career track and have no interest in fighting little lightening storms like Tommy. If it was up to me my debut match would have been against the Hardcore champ, but I understand there is a ranking and everybody needs to pay their dues. So I will postpone my own dreams for the mean while and I ask for a no holds bar hardcore match with Tommy Lightening and to add to the pot the winner should at least be considered for #1 contender spot for the Hardcore championship. No matter who I face in the ring I guarantee they will Apologize too me, 1 for wasting my time & 2 for thinking that they were even a worthy competitor.

ReplyDeleteWasting your time? Why am I wasting my time with two no name punks that got their debut because I was nice enough to give them a platform to show the world how much they need to improve to not just wrestle for titles, but keep their contracts in this federation.
Apollo, you need to pipe down and I’ll maybe consider another minor league repeat with Mr. Lightning.
