HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2018 #672 – Tacoma Thunder

Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of HCW’s Tacoma Thunder.  The action heats up inside on this cool and rainy day.   GM Max McGillicutty makes his way out to a pop.  He smiles as he sees the fans holding signs that read “Good Riddance King Rad” and “Phoenix can have the Cajun King”.    Max tells the fans that on Friday, HCW actually went out tour holding a show that features a 64 man battle royal composed of both rosters with the winner getting a Money in the Bank title shot (a shot for any title of the winners choosing).  After almost going the distance, Sonic Blade was eliminated by Rad Gumbo.  Muscles Thorpe took out Tobias Snake and made it to the finals.  Queen Alexandria made her way out to join King Rad.  One Bourbon Street Blues later and Gumbo is the winner of the battle royal.  He said that he is now in possession of TWO MITB contracts and will use them strategically. Max says that HCW will once again take its show on tour and this time the ladies will host their own battle royal with the winner there also receiving a contract for a title match.  Before leaving, Max says that he’s going to mix things up today and have the entire show all tag team matches with some never before seen combinations to see how well wrestlers gel (or don’t) together.  He leaves the stage and heads to the back.  (Editor’s note:  Over the last few days, Master Bull and Max spoke about the Regulators being on the Phoenix roster but the Banker being on Tacoma.  It was decided to trade the Banker to Phoenix in exchange for Perfect Pecs Stoddard.  The roster change was made after Friday’s battle royal.)

The show begins as pyro goes off.  The Axe and TNT come out first and the pop they get is enormous.  Axe and TNT high five the fans as they make their way down to the ring.  Next, manager Ant Graham makes his way out and the fans boo.  Graham introduces two of his Ghouls – Wolfman Keg and Mason the Mangler and they are collectively booed all the way down to the ring.  Graham throws some obscene gestures at the fans and make their way into the ring.  Graham raises his team’s arms acting like his team has already won.  As soon as the match began, Graham got involved early on giving his team the advantage.  Much to Axe and TNT’s credit, they countered with a lot of double teaming of their own much to the delight of the fans.  As the match wore on, Graham was getting increasingly frustrated they could not get (steal) a win.  At the 28 minute mark, Graham finally wore out his welcome and TNT “exploded” sending Graham flying into the crowd.  Without Graham by their side (to cheat), Axe and TNT started a huge comeback that only ended because the time limit expired.  After the bell rang bringing this one to a draw finish, the Ghouls exited the ring pretty quickly and gathered up their manager and headed to the back.  Axe and TNT celebrated with the fans briefly before heading to the back also.  (30 min draw)

Jacques Beannot is backstage talking to someone in French on the phone and HARDCORE HENSEN bumps into him.  Hensen begins to yell at Jacques (telling him “this is ‘Merica and we don’t speak no freaky deaky frenchy here”) and takes his phone and smashes it on the ground.   Jacques gets into Hensen’s face and Hardcore challenges him to a match.  Jacques says he accepts and will look forward to it on the next show.

The next match is ready to go and out comes our Canadian duo of Jacques Beannot and Drew the Canadian Love Machine.  The fans popped super loud for them as they made their way down to the ring.  Once in the ring, the music changed and out comes “the Irish Bad-Asses” Perfect Pecs Stoddard and Red McNulty.  The fans boo them but they (for the most part) seem to ignore them and climb into the ring.  The match begins pretty quickly with Jacques wanting to start things off.  Jacques and Drew held the advantage for almost the entire match but either Red or Pecs would constantly make the save.  Once we got to the final minute of the match, Drew and Jacques tried to double team Pecs but he somehow reversed it and dropped both of them with the Celtic kick.  Jacques rolled out of the ring and got to his feet only to be met by the freight train that is HARDCORE HENSEN.  Hensen attacked Jacques and the two of them fought to the back.  Drew narrowly escaped a double teaming attempt by Pecs and Red.  Another match ends in a time limit draw.

The newest manager on the scene “The Singapore Sensation” Matt Preacher has announced that he has checked out the roster up and down and has settled on who he wants to manage.  One person though seems to be out of his grasp…at the moment.  When pressed for details on his acquisitions and exactly who is eluding him, he told us we’d have to wait as announcements such as this need to be done with more fanfare instead of one person getting the scoop.  He, like the rest of HCW will have to wait.

We go back to the ring for our 3rd match of the evening.  Ruby Rose and Vanilla Zombie (a very unlikely pair to team up) come out first and the fans pop.  Vanilla has her little group of zombie-ites and they cheer for her as she makes her way down to the ring.  Ruby is not sure how to interact with her tag partner for this.  Next, the twins Betsy and Felicia Cummings make their way out and they are booed pretty heavily.  Once in the ring, they immediately get in Ruby’s face and taunt her.  Ruby says she may be short but she is vicious and the twins better not underestimate her.  After 5 minutes of dominating, the team of Ruby and Vanilla just DESTROYED the twins.  The domination continued for the entire match.  20 minutes in, the twins injured Ruby leaving Vanilla on her own but she was able to hold them off until Ruby was able to recover and tag back in.  Ruby then went all vicious on Felicia and even in the last minute of the match, she locked Felicia in a modified boston crab.  Thankfully (for Felicia), the bell rang bringing this one to a draw.  The twins then scampered off and Ruby and Vanilla celebrated with the fans before heading to the back (30 min draw)

We cut back to Max’s office and he seems to be a bit worried.  He knows that the fans will not be thrilled if all the matches continue to end in a draw finish so he makes a call to the owners of the venue and asks if they would be ok if they ran over on time for the night.   Max was told nothing else was planned so he could have as much time as they would need (however, filming would still end at 3 hours).   Max announces the final 3 matches of the night will not have a time limit.

We head to the ring for Match #4.   Scarlett Phoenix comes out first and the fans pop for her.  She makes her way down but as soon as she enters the ring, the music changes and out comes the Ladies Champion Candice Charisma.  She gets right into the ring and begins to boss Scarlett around.  Scarlett tells Candice to back off but if she as so much twitches wrong, Scarlett will light a fire under her ass!  The fans pop for that.  Next, the Duchess and Lady Hermann make their way out.  The Duchess motions at the belt that Candice is carrying and mouths that it will be hers soon enough.  Candice acts like she’s going to start this off but then ends up blind tagging Scarlett in.  Scarlett held her own against the Duchess and Lady Hermann but as soon as she started to get some serious momentum going, Candice would tag herself in and would leave with things started to get hot.  20 minutes in, Scarlett and Candice were supposed to be double teaming Lady Hermann but Candice stood by and watched.  Scarlett then hit the Black Widow but Candice pulled Scarlett aside and then tagged herself in.  Candice ran over and dropped a sharp elbow and hooked the leg (and tights) to get the 1-2-3.  Candice and Scarlett get the win.  Scarlett looked perturbed with her tag partner as Candice hogged ALL the spotlight.  Scarlett left.  The Duchess then slid back in and blasted Candice with the All Hail Her Majesty.  The Duchess stood over Candice and picked up the Ladies title and pointed to it and herself.  She then dropped the belt on Candice and left with Lady Hermann.  The Ladies Champion got up and didn’t see her tag partner anywhere and she stormed to the back.

The World Tag Team Champions El Chango and Leon Teremoto – the Desperados – are backstage and they says that they’ve asked to be on the card today.  El Chango says that he wants to prove to the Smashers once and for all that a DQ or CO is not the only way they can prove their dominance. With no time limit and no DQ, they will show the Smashers that they are the most dominant team or they’ll give them another title shot.  Leon says they had better start looking for the next team as the Smashers are done after this.

We cut back to the ring and standing in the ring is “The Singapore Sensation Matt Preacher.  He says that he has an announcement to make and that he has signed two wrestlers who he knows will skyrocket to stardom.  Matt introduces HARDCORE HENSEN and Nix Anderson.  The duo come out and head down to the ring.  The fans think these guys are not worth cheering for so they boo.  Matt yells at the fans that they are witnessing the evolution of wrestling and they better learn to accept it.  Nix and Hensen get in the ring and Matt points to them and the fans boo louder.  Next, Ghee Buttersnaps and Ovaltine Jackson come out and the fans pop.  They make their way into the ring and Preacher has his new team go on the offensive and attack the two.  Hensen has Nix step out of the ring and says “I’ve got this”.  Hensen goes on a rampage tearing through Ghee and Ovaltine.  Nix would join in a few times with double teaming but Hensen was having way too much fun doing it all on his own.  Nix kept looking at Preacher who told him to let Hensen have his fun.  Nix then got in the ring to distract Ovaltine and Preacher jumped up on the apron and slapped the spit out of Ghee’s face.  Hensen then folded him up like an accordion and got the 3 count.  Hensen and Nix get the win in a pretty violent fashion.  The trio leave while medics come out to check on Ghee and Ovaltine.  (9 min)

Backstage, Candice lambasts Scarlett for leaving her unprotected from the cowardly attack by the Duchess.  Scarlett tells Candice she brought this on herself.  Candice slaps Scarlett and we almost have a brawl on our hands.  Max comes over and says that Candice will defend the Ladies title against Scarlett at their next show.

It’s time for our main event.  Manager MJ comes out first and introduces the Smashers.  They are booed as they head down to the ring.  Next, GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says that this is the last chance.  They need to win or they fall off the title hunt (which MJ is not pleased about).   The Smashers take control of the match early but after 5 minutes, the champs took control by nullifying MJ.  Leon and El Chango took Smasher #1 out of the ring and collectively hurled him into the ring steps.  He crashed hard and looked to be injured.  Smasher #2 could not sustain it on his own and after Leon splashed him in the corner, he went for the cover and got the 3 count.  The Desperados get the win and the Smashers are now out of any (immediate) title hunt. (11 minutes).  The champs celebrate in the ring as the show comes to an end.

As soon as the cameras turned off, Max McGillicutty came back out and says that as a fan of the product, he knows that seeing so many draw finishes can put a damper on things so he has a treat for those who have remained behind.  Max tells he crowd he has a special match – for their eyes only.  They pop.  Max says that the newly acquired Jesse California will have his match tonight.  Jesse comes out and he acts all cocky and the fans boo him.  Before Max can announce his opponent, Ant Graham comes out and says that there is only one person who understands the dark – the evil vampire Dr. Red Fang.  Fang comes out as “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE” blares over the loudspeakers.  Graham and Fang head to the ring. Fang immediately attacks Jesse.  The two men trade blows for 3 solid minutes. Fang then drops Jesse and pulls him to the corner and then wraps his leg around the steel post.  Fang gets back in the ring and pulls Jesse to the center.  He then locks in the Spider Web Lock and Jesse taps almost immediately.  Dr. Red Fang gets the win and the fans boo and he and Graham stand tall in the ring laughing.  With that, the show comes to an end.

Thanks for reading.  Phoenix Heat is back on Wednesday.  Stay Tuned.
