HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #551


Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  After our Supershow in chilly Denver, we head back sunny Phoenix, AZ.  GM Max McGillicutty gave us a tidbit of information and it’s really above and beyond anything we could have thought.  Max says that he did some wheeling and dealing and was able to secure another location for a show later this month.  He was able to get out of the 4 corners and after lengthy conversations with local promoters, Max secured a deal for HCW to go to MONTREAL, QUEBEC CANADA!  That is HUGE news that I’m sure World Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine and his former tag team partner the Savior will be ecstatic to return home.  Max says that show will take place on 3/19.

The show starts off with pyro and our first match is ready to begin.  Adam Jameson makes his way out first and is followed by his opponent Super Shockmaster.  SS comes out and is booed pretty heavily.  He doesn’t care.  He is here to wreak havoc and pick up a paycheck.  AJ used his speed and never allowed SS to get in one offensive move at all.  AJ nailed a gut buster and followed it up with a springboard face smash and then sent SS out of the ring.  AJ launched himself over the top rope onto the Super Shockmaster on the floor.  He made it back in by 10 but SS did not so the match gets awarded to Adam Jameson via countout.  (2 ½ min).  As AJ celebrated in the ring. Super Shockmaster ran back in and hit him with the Galactic Splash.  He then headbutted AJ multiple times until AJ was wearing a crimson mask.  SS then began laughing and wiped AJ’s blood on his mask.  He then walked away.

We cut backstage to Max’s office.  The Elitist Reid Rothchild and his manager Master Bull walk in and ask Max if he would be allowed to pick the opponent for his next title match.  Max says yes as long they as they are in his top 10.  Reid confirms that if the person is listed in his top 10, he can pick whoever he wants.  Max is getting irritated.  “Yes” he says.  “Hey, we’re just making sure we are playing by your rules” says Master Bull.  Max stands up.  “Look at the current lineup, you can defend the title against anyone on there.  Does that make it any clearer?”   Bull asks “And if that person doesn’t show up, Reid wins by forfeit, right?”  Max exasperated says “Yes”.  “Ok” Reid says and he and Master Bull leave.  Max shakes his head asking “what was that all about?”

Master Bull and the Elitist Reid Rothchild walk down and enter the ring.  Reid announces that he got permission from the GM to pick his opponent for tonight.   He pulls out a piece of paper with the names of the wrestlers in the top 10.  “Ok, I choose…. Starbuck Steel.  Oh Starbuck…where are you?”  Starbuck’s music plays but he is not there.  Max storms out on stage with a mic in hand.  “You can’t choose him as he and his brother are on suspension.”  Reid counters with “But you said that if they are listed in my top 10, I can choose.”  Max replies “He’s not here because of the suspension…you can’t choose him.”  Bull interjects “But he CAN and because of the exact wording that YOU used, he will.  He is on the active roster and you never flagged him as ‘ineligible’.  Timekeeper, ring the bell to start this match if you would”.  The bell rings and the ref counts to 10 and has no choice but to award the match to Reid.  “Now, since I’ve fulfilled my title defense obligation for this month, I don’t have to do anything until next month.  Thanks Mr. GM.”  Bull and Reid leave the ring laughing.

Backstage, the Duchess talks about taking over the court and how Beckett was an unfit leader unlike her who is a multi-time champion.   She says she will bring back prestige to the Court.

We head back to the ring for our next match.  First, Sarona Reiher makes her way to the ring and is followed out by Madame Jade.  Madame Jade looked fantastic in the match keeping Sarona on the defensive for her offensive but Sarona began to wear her down.  Sarona was able to nail Jade with a Samoan drop in the last few seconds of the match but Jade was too close to the ropes and easily got a foot on the ropes to break the pin attempt and the bell then rang bringing this one to a close.  This one ends in a draw.  Both women get a standing ovation from the fans who appreciated the show they put on.  (20 min time limit)

Back in the interview area, the Hardcore champion the Stache is cutting a promo addressing his upcoming match against World Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine and we see a shadow moving in the background.  It seems this shadow has been stalking the Stache.  WHO or WHAT IS IT???

Heading back to the ring for more action, we have Dr. Red Fang vs Travis Ryzing.  Ant Graham comes out first with the Dr. who exclaims “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE”.    He is booed but he doesn’t care.  Travis ‘Dark Storm’ Ryzing comes out next and he gets a pop only because of who he’s facing.  Well, this match was anything BUT uninteresting as Fang tore right into Ryzing and never let up.  Ant Graham didn’t have to do anything and let Fang go to town.  It was a massacre.  At one point, Fang pulled Ryzing out of the ring and nailed a Transylvania piledriver on the floor.  He wanted to keep up the fight but his manager sent him back into the ring.  The unconscious ‘Dark Storm’ never got up and Fang was awarded the match via count out.  Graham joins him in the ring and the two celebrate.  The ring announcer tried to interview both men and Fang snarled at him.  “I bet our champions are sitting at home punching keys (aka on their computers).  I’d like to punch THEM!”  Ant asks how the sheep (fans) would book Dr. Red Fang in today’s world of sports entertainment and the fans respond with “YOU SUCK”.  Graham gets pissed.  Fang exclaims “I am a LEGEND in HCW.  Your opinions are insignificant.”  The fans don’t let up so Graham and Fang leave.  (7 ½ min for the match; 15 total for the segment)

Backstage, a bloodied up Adam Jameson demands a rematch against the Super Shockmaster.

We go back to the ring for our next match.  Ravishing Raquel appears on the stage with her husband The Elitist Reid Rothchild and her ‘advisor’ Master Bull.  Bull gives her some words of advice and she heads down to the ring.  Taylor Bella comes out next to a pop from the crowd and for whatever reason, she’s carrying a lemon. She gets into the ring and Raquel immediately attacks.   Taylor shrugs her off and grabs the lemon and rubs some of the juice in Raquel’s eyes.  Taylor goes on the offensive pulling out all the stops. 9 minutes in, Raquel connects with a moonsault but is still feeling the effects of the lemon juice.  She manages to lock in a Ravishing Armbar but Taylor connects with a sunset flip.  She somehow hooks the leg and gets the 1-2-3.  Taylor Bella gets the win.  Raquel begins to recover but Taylor sees the writing on the wall and departs. (10 min)

Backstage, El Chango & Leon Teremoto - The Desperados claim they are the #1 contenders and for two shows straight, the Flyers get a title shot and what the hell was up with their appearance?   Did they put on weight?  Leon says this needs to be brought to Max’s attention.

Back in his office, Max sees numbers being down and realizes it’s due in part because of the Steel Curtain’s suspension.  Max places a call to the Steel Curtain and says he’ll drop the suspension.   Buzz replies and says “no, it’s ok.  For now, keeping the Steel Curtain off the show is ‘best for business’ so hopefully the business will flourish.  We’ll be back at the end of the month.”  Buzz hangs up the phone.  The Desperados walk in and El Chango tells Max that he seriously needs to look at tape of the Flyers as he thinks something is hokey there.

It’s time for our MAIN EVENT.  The challenger, the Hardcore Champion the Stache comes out to a huge pop.  He enters the ring.  World Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine comes out next and the pop is even louder.  Drew climbs each of the turnbuckles posing with his belt.  He then faces the Stache in the middle of the ring and the two shake hands.  Only the World title is on the line tonight.  The match begins.

The Stache executes a THROW OUT OF RING....

The lights then go off and are off for about 5 seconds.  When they come back on, the Stache is out cold in the ring and Drew is out on the outside.  The ref, confused, begins to count.

The Stache wins with a THROW OUT OF RING - Count Out over Drew the Canadian Love Machine!!! 

Unfortunately, the belt does not change hands on a countout.  Stache recovers first and wonders what the hell is going on.  All of a sudden, a man dressed all in black attacks and drops the Stache with a piledriver.  The masked man stands over the Stache and then removes his hood.  HOLY COW…It’s… DR. RED FANG!  Fang screams “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE” as the show comes to an end.
