HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #543

Today's show is coming to you one day early as to not compete with the “Big Game”

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  Tonight, the Masked Gentleman takes on King CJ in their first of three battles with tonight’s being a lumberjack match.  King CJ did tell us he had a surprise in store for his masked opponent and the whole world will get to see it.

It’s time for our first match.  Hangman #3 makes his way down to the ring to booing from the fans.  Ant Graham appears and he’s got Dr. Red Fang in tow.  “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE!” he screams as they head to the ring.  The fans don’t seem to care for either but I think secretly they want to see the good Dr. get hung.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says he’s mixing this one up and making it a no DQ match.  Hangman #3 immediately went on the offensive but Fang met him with the same level of ferociousness.  Dr. Red Fang nailed Hangman #3 with a skull crusher but Ant told him NOT to go for the pin. Hangman #3 kicked Fang in the ribs but Fang immediately locked in the Spider Weblock.  H3 had nowhere to go so he tapped out in the middle of the ring.  Dr. Red Fang gets the submission win.  Ant joins him in the ring and they celebrate briefly before leaving.  (6 min)

A limo pulls up backstage and it’s the World Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine.  Drew is intercepted by a reporter who asks why he’s at the show tonight.  Drew says that he’s agreed to defend the World title against a man who never got his rematch – the Axe.  He says he’s looking forward to meeting the Axe in the ring and may the best man win.

We go back to the ring for our next match.  Creepy music plays and out comes Mason the Mangler.  The music changes and out comes Ivan Dragovich.  Ivan high-fives the fans as he makes his way to the ring.  Mason takes control of the match for the first 10 minutes but after Ivan reversed a piledriver attempt, things started going the Russian’s way.  Ivan began taking the fight to the Mangler and nailed a spinning heel kick.  He went for the pin but only got a two count.  The 5th Column then came out and proceeded to walk to the ring.  Mason then hit Ivan with a  low blow and went to the top rope to hit something but Ivan made it to the ropes, hit them and Mason crotched himself on the top turnbuckle before falling into the ring.  The bell then rang bringing this one to a time limit draw.  The 5th Column (Baron von Blood, Oswald Zimmerman & Karl Braun) got into the ring and surrounded Ivan.  Just then, Ivan’s tag team partners Wendell Hammerschimdt and Otto Ruthless hit the ring and we have a standoff.  Refs and shirts from the back came out to separate the two teams.  The 6 Man trophy holders were the first to back off.  Ivan celebrated with his teammates before they finally left.  (20 min for the match; 5 for the segment)  However, Otto remained in the ring as his match was up next.

Otto Ruthless waited in the ring until his opponent Superquake Ferguson came out.  Ruthless was relentless in going toe to toe with the man that stood almost 2 feet taller than he is.  He held his own until, sneaking in the crowd, were the members of the 5th Column.  At one point, Superquake tossed Otto into the crowd and then climbed back into the ring.  The 5th Column then attacked Otto beating him down but took off after Ivan and Wendell ran back down, hopped the railing and chased the 5th Column out of the building.  Unfortunately, Otto was not able to make it back into the ring and he ended up getting counted out.  Superquake wins this one via CO decision.  (8 ½ min)

The Desperados (El Chango & Leon Teremoto) are backstage and say that they are tired of the champs ducking them and not giving them the rematch they deserve.  Leon says that tonight, they challenge the Ryzing Storm for their spot and once they win this one, they will be solidified as the #1 contenders and the champs will have to grant them another match.

The Desperados come out first to challenge the Ryzing Storm for their placement in the top 10.  Next, Travis “Dark Storm” Ryzing and his brother Terra Ryzing come out to booing from the crowd.  GM Max comes out and tells both teams they have 20 minutes to get this done.  If this one ends in a draw, both teams are out of the running.  The Ryzing Storm had more to lose in this one and really went on the offensive and for 6 minutes, they had control until double teaming by the Desperados changed the pace of the match.  Leon remained in the ring and locked in a armbar scissors lock on Terra and used that to pin him.  The Desperados get the win and are back in the top 10.  (9 min)

Backstage at the curtain, the Masked Gentleman is standing there with Miss Samantha.  CJ walks by and says nothing.  “HAH!” MG shouted…“I shut the #HagRag up! HAH!  Whatssmatter HagRag?  Got nuttin else to say?”  CJ gives him the “stone cold salute” and grabs a poster covered in a cloth and a tripod and heads towards the ring.  MG heads back into his dressing room.   King CJ stops, sets the stuff down and quietly runs over and puts a chair under the door knob of MG’s dressing room.  He then grabs his stuff and heads down to the ring snickering all the way to the ring.

CJ comes out with a poster (covered with a cloth) and a tripod.  He sets it up in the ring and tells the world that even though MG tried to bribe him not to show this, he was going to do it anyway.  For the world to see…The Masked Gentleman…unmasked!   He points to the Omegatron:

CJ:  Ok, ok, just kidding…this guy is from Goonies.  The real masked moron is this one here:

Woah..talk about UUUUUUUUUUUUGly but even this alien mix is better than what’s to come…

Ha ha, no, sorry that is spawn.,.hey you guys back stage…ok..for REAL this time…

(Backstage, MG is trying to get out of his dressing room but the door is blocked.  He begins banging on it in earnest.)

Ha ha…must have been MG on the toilet…ha ha…ok, for really real this time…(he unveils the poster he brought to the ring)

The fans get a good laugh.  (Backstage, MG finally gets out of his dressing room and heads towards the stage).  King CJ then pulled out some markers and began modifying it saying that this is how he really looks:

King CJ gets a good laugh and says he has one last thing to show from the Omegatron…someone who will laugh at MG with him:

Wait, MG HAS TALENT?

King CJ laughs as the Masked Gentleman and Miss Samantha storm down to the ring.  King CJ looks around and with a “what…me?” look on his face, exited the ring to let MG stew in the ring.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and is trying his best not to laugh.  Max directs the HCW Superstars to surround the ring so they can get this First of Three underway.

MG vs King CJ:  Match 1 – Lumberjack strap match.  King CJ started off strong nailing a Log Splitting Legdrop with assistance from Lumberjack #8 (Super Shockmaster).  MG shook it off and nailed a piledriver.  CJ beat down on MG for a few minutes before hurling him out of the ring but MG was back in quickly before any harm can be done.  MG nails a superplex and goes for a pin but only gets a two count.  This time, MG hurls CJ out of the ring and the 5th Column all attacked him but he actually fought them off and returned to the ring.  Just as he enters, MG hits him with a Welcome Mat but only gets a 2 count.  A bit more back and forth and MG nails a powerslam for a 2 count.  CJ then gets assistance from Lumberjacks 1, 2 and 7 (Muscles Trio) and lays into MG with Paul Bunyan boot stomps.   CJ then locked in the Guillotine choke but MG made it to the ropes.  MG shakes it off and gets help from the Muscles Trio who assist MG with the Paul Bunyan Boot stomps (the crowd began to boo them but they turned and did the Booty-O dance to get the fans to like them again) and MG went for another pin but CJ kicked out.  Both men then tumble out of the ring and are both attacked by surrounding lumberjacks and both made it back in pretty fast.  CJ drops MG with a hangman’s DDT.  MG battles back and hits a piledriver but can’t make the cover.  CJ nails a superplex but the Super Shockmaster tried to attack MG but it backfired and MG nailed the Log Splitting Legdrop.  MG yelled thanks to SS which just pissed him off.  MG nails CJ with a powerslam.  CJ goes for flying dropkicks but MG reverses it and with help from lumberjacks 1 & 4 (Muscles Thorpe and the Savior), he nearly decapitates CJ with a woodcutter clothesline.  Miss Samantha then throws a ticket dispenser into the ring to MG.  He quickly empties the tickets and begins to wrap CJ in them.  Miss Samantha then throws what appears to be quick drying glue to MG who pours it on the tickets solidifying them almost immediately. MG stood over King CJ as he struggled (but couldn’t break out) against his bonds.  MG put a foot on him and the ref counted 1…2…3.  The Masked Gentleman wins this one and laughs at CJ.  He then takes the picture of him “unmasked” and stomps a hole into it.   MG and Miss Samantha leave the ring.  Refs came from the back to help CJ but they couldn’t get the stuff off him.  They helped him to the back.  (17 min)

There is a short break as the crew comes out from the back to replace the mat covering as it had dried glue all over it and it presented a hazard.

Finally, it’s time for the Main Event.  First, the challenger the Axe makes his way to the ring and high-fives some of the fans and quickly enters the ring.  Next, the World Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine comes out and gets a huge pop from the crowd.  Axe is in the ring and is pacing like a caged animal.  Drew enters and both men shake hands.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says that they have plenty of time left so this match will be a best of 3 falls 60 minute time limit match.  Axe goes right on the offensive dropping Drew with the Axe.  Drew battles right back and nails a Lover Bomb and goes for the pin but Axe kicks out at two.  After a bit of back and forth, Drew goes for a superkick but Axe reverses it and hurls Drew out of the ring.  He got back in pretty quick but was holding his lower back.  Axe, sensing weakness (like blood in the water), locked Drew in a bearhug and squeezed the breath right out of Drew.  He had no choice but to tap.  Axe drops him and wins the first fall in 6 minutes.   The second fall begins and this time Drew owned the Axe however Axe wasn’t going down without a fight and fight he did.  Drew ends up needing 14 minutes to get the pin after hitting an arm drag take down that he turned into a pin attempt.  Time expired:  20 minutes…40 remaining.  With one win each, it’s time for the 3rd and final fall.  The first 10 minutes of the match was owned by Drew but after getting bodyslammed on the floor, Axe took over and had several pin attempts all of which Drew kicked out of.  At the 29 minute mark, Axe and Drew were fighting on the floor.  Axe hurled Drew into the steel steps and then bodyslammed him on them.  He almost didn’t hear the count being made and rolled back into the ring hoping to break the count but the ref counted to 10 and called the match.  Axe said he should be given the title but the ref said that the belt does not change hands on a countout decision and awards the match but not the belt to the Axe. Axe gets pissed off and threatens the ref.  Instead, he goes out of the ring and continues the assault on Drew.  After whipping him into the post, steps and ringside barrier, he dragged Drew back into the ring and nailed him with the Axe.  He made the cover but the ref said the match was over.  Axe slapped his hand to the mat three times and called himself the NEW champion.  He tried to forcibly take the belt from the ref but somehow the ref got it away from him.  Axe stormed out of the ring and the fans didn’t care for his brutish change in attitude but he ended up flipping them all off.  Axe leaves in a huff while the ref calls for help from the back to tend to Drew.

With that, the show comes to an end.  Be sure to tune in as I’m sure there will be fallout from the Axe’s “turn” to the darkside.  (50 minutes total for the falls; 10 minutes for the aftermath).
