Well, it turns out that the EODRF Champion Hulk Hogan decided he didn’t want to sit around and wait to defend his belt so he gave Curt Hennig his match. Hennig started off strong and even went for a pin attempt before Hogan had any idea what was happening but that was it for Hennig. Hogan took over and showed why he is the Immortal one and in 17 minutes, Hogan pinned Hennig after hitting the leg drop. Arn Anderson is next in line for a title shot. Hogan called out Arn and told him that his title match was now. Arn put up a decent fight but was not able to battle back from the Python Headlock as Hogan adds another win under his championship. Hogan the put the title on the line against his old friend Mr. T. This match only (thankfully) went 10 minutes. After hitting T with a power forearm smash, Hulk made the cover and got the 1-2-3. Hogan calls out his next opponent is Road Warrior Animal. This match went a little longer than the last but Animal did not perform as he had in the tournament. After Hogan connected with a throat lift from the corner turnbuckle and pinned him. Hogan then took on the former Minnesota governor Jesse Ventura. This one took even longer at 19 minutes. It was really a snoozefest as the match was about Hogan and the amount of punishment he could deliver on Jesse. Hogan got the win after hitting a double elbow smash. The next match against Wahoo McDaniels was the shortest one as it only took 30 seconds for Hogan to lock in a bearhug and watch Wahoo TAP. Good Lord. Next Hogan took on former Mega-Powers partner Randy “Macho Man” Savage. He is hoping Savage can do better than the others. At 10:30, Savage tossed Hogan out of the ring and he got counted out. With this title, belts do not change hands but Savage will have a rematch. It was decided that Hogan would have to defend the title in a steel cage. As the cage lowered, the match began. The match ran a long 21 minutes. Hogan pinned Savage and tried to escape the cage but Savage stopped him. He battled back but never was able to keep Hogan down. Hogan then escaped out the door to win the match and retain the belt. Hogan has one last match and it’s against Lex Luger. Lex gave Hogan the best run for his money staying on top of the champ. In the end, Hogan resorted to tossing Lex out of the ring where he got counted out. Hulk Hogan has had 9 successful title defenses. He now gets to take a break while the next tournament happens and a new top 10 is created.
