HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2016 #503

Hello fans and welcome back to the latest installment of our newsletter.  Well, I think it’s safe to say that the 3 individuals who all tried out impressed the brass enough and will most likely be given contracts.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out on stage and says that he was impressed with Scarlett Phoenix’s performance but really wants to see her in action again to get a better grasp on her talent.  Sarona Reiher makes her way out to the stage and says that the “no talent little wannabe” got lucky and if she had had more time, she would have shown Scarlett who the “boss” really is.  Max asks her if she is asking for a rematch and she exclaims “Yes”.  Max tells her to go to the ring and the rematch between the two can start now.  As Sarona makes her way down to the ring, out comes Southern Belle and she says that she wants another look at these two.  She goes to sit at commentary.  Scarlett Phoenix comes out and she get a huge pop from the crowd.  She high-fives with the fans and just as she enters the ring, Sarona attacks her.  The bell is immediately rung.

For 14 minutes, Sarona tried to embarrass Scarlett and but the newest member of the roster held her own.  It wasn’t until Sarona went for a superfly splash, launched herself from the top turnbuckle and at the last minute Scarlett got her knees up did the tide of the match turn.  Scarlett dropped Sarona with a couple of dropkicks.  She hit the ropes and then caught Sarona with a flying body press.  In one fell swoop, she connected and immediately hooked the leg.  She landed in the middle of the ring and the ref was in the perfect spot to count the 1-2-3.  Scarlett Phoenix gets the win in 18 minutes.  Southern Belle, still at commentary, stands up and applauds her.  Scarlett leaves the ring.   Belle goes to leave but Sarona nudges her out of the way.  She turns and starts to poke Belle in the chest.   Belle pushes her away but Sarona swings and misses and Belle drops her with the Southern Swing.  She gets a pop from the crowd and she makes her way backstage.  Sarona recovers and she is more pissed than ever.

Reporter Clarkus Kentus is backstage with ‘The Ragin Cajun’ Rad Gumbo and his manager MJ.  Clarkus asks if Gumbo is proud of what he did in possibly ending the career of Magnum Kone.  MJ interjects and says Rad did what he needed to in order to secure the win.  If Magnum is not man enough to take such a beating, maybe he needs to call it quits and go home to mommy.  Rad looks at the camera and says “Maybe all da King's horses an' all da King's men...can try an' put Magnum Kone back together again, eh mon ami?" Both men laugh and walk off.

It’s time for our next match.  First, accompanied by manager Ant Graham, out comes Baron von Blood.  He, of course, is booed.  He gets into the ring and yells back at the fans.  His opponent, Jesse California comes out next.  He gets a pop from the crowd.   Ant orders the Baron to attack Jesse and he does before he ever gets to the ring.  Eventually, both men get in the ring and the match officially begins.  Jesse fought back and really took the match to the Baron.  Ant didn’t like that.  He interfered a few times trying to get one over on Jesse but it didn’t really work.  All of a sudden, in from the crowd runs Ivan Dragovich.  Ivan hits Ant Graham with a jumping side kick and then hurls him into to the ring where he hits the ref.  Ivan jumped back over the guardrail to avoid being seen by the ref.  The ref, thinking Ant was trying to do something shady immediately disqualified Baron because of outside interference and awarded the match to Jesse.  Ant and the Baron tried to complain but it did no good.  (12 min)

A car pulls up in the parking lot and exiting are the 6 Man champs – the Steel Curtain and Biceps Bannerman.  It looks like they are in action tonight.  They head in and go straight to Max’s office.

We go back to the ring for our next match.   Muscles Thorpe is already in the ring.  His opponent is the HUGE Superquake Ferguson.  Thorpe tried to run away but eventually manned up and stood in the ring looking at the man who towered at least a foot over him.  Thorpe went on the offensive and used his speed to keep out of the giant’s reach.  He dazzled the giant with lefts and rights and got him off his feet a few times after hitting the E-Train.  Superquake then backed himself into the corner and Muscles Thorpe charged at him and hit a running splash.  Superquake fell into the ring and Thorpe hooked the leg (and tights) and got the 1-2-3.  Muscles Thorpe gets the win in this encounter.  (13 min)

Back in Max’s office, the 6 man champs say they are here to defend their trophy tonight.  Max tells them they don’t have to defend the trophy as often as they do.  Biceps says that they don’t hide behind rules and regulations and that they are defending champions.  Max acknowledges that they are.  Starbuck asks who they are facing tonight and Max tells him it’s the team of Chic Monroe, Billy Robbins and Wendell Hammerschmidt.  Buzz says “cake walk” and the three of them leave Max’s office.

Southern Belle makes her way back out to scout the next match.  From the Queen’s Court, out comes Lady Hermann.  She makes her way to the ring and glares at Belle sitting at commentary.  Her opponent Missy Chick makes her way out to the ring.  Lady Hermann pays little attention to her opponent and continues to jaw jack with Belle.  The bell rings and her Ladyship turns and hits a headscissors facebuster.  She then turns her attention back to Belle.  Missy recovers and uses the distraction to lock in a scissored armbar.  Lady Hermann, caught completely offguard, taps out.  Missy gets a very quick win and she leaves the ring immediately while Lady Hermann tries to complain in the ring.  Lady Hermann walks back looking like she’s ready to explode.  Belle leaves shortly thereafter.  (1 min)

Larry Morton is backstage with Ivan Dragovich and he comments on the 5th Column and their sleezeball of a manager Ant Graham and how he will make them pay.  “I vill break ech and every von of you.”

We go back to the ring for a challenge for placement in the tag team top 10.  Challenging for the spot is the new team of P&L:  Phat Sol and Lucas Johnston.   They are accompanied by their manager the Ambassador.  They are challenging Leiton & Niven Snake for their spot.  The Snake family were owning the team of P&L much to this dismay of the Ambassador.  Things began looking very bleak for his team so right after Leiton hit Phat Sol with the Curb Stomp, the Ambassador immediately pushed the ref resulting in a disqualification.  The Snake duo retain their spot but they appear ‘put out’ with this kind of a win.  The Ambassador draws his team together and after admonishing them, they all leave.  (9 min)

MJ is backstage with the World Tag Team Champs the Smashers and he says that the teams so far being fed to the Smashers are practically worthless.  He says his team needs new challenges or they will get bored very quick.  The Smashers say they are going to start stirring up trouble and everyone better watch out.

We’re back to the ring for our next match and Jerry Saunders makes his way out first.  He is then followed by Ivan Dragovich who starts to get a warmer reaction from the fans.  Ivan was vicious and Saunders never really got a chance to get any offense started.  Ivan destroyed Jerry and after hanging on for 18 minutes, finally succumbed to the Accolade Clutch but not by submission but by pinfall.  Ivan got his arm raised just as the 5th Column, led by Ant Graham, ran down and attacked Ivan.  Baron von Blood, Oswald Zimmerman and Karl Braun triple teamed Ivan with no one coming to his rescue.  Finally, a team no one really expected … The Desperados (El Chango and Leon Teremoto) ran down and cleared the ring.  They do not trust Ivan because of his previous allegiance so once they make sure the 5th Column has left, they help him up and then leave.  (18 min for the match; 25 for the segment)

Backstage, MJ is meeting with someone who we can’t see as he’s hiding in the shadows.  MJ says that he wants to put a bounty on a particular individual and asks if he is up to the task.  The mystery person asks “how much?” and MJ replies “You will be well compensated if you do this.  What do you say?”  The mystery person extends his hand and says “Yes, I’ll take it.”  MJ laughs as the segment comes to an end.

It is time for the main event.   First, the challengers come out.  Superstar Chic Monroe come out first and he is followed by Wendell Hammerschmidt and finally Billy Robbins.  Next, the 6 man tag team champs – the Steel Curtain (Buzz and Starbuck Steel) and Biceps Bannerman come out to the biggest pop of the night.   The match begins almost immediately with the challengers stepping up and really taking the match to the champs.  After triple teaming Starbuck for 3 rounds, he finally made the hot tag to Biceps Bannerman who also got triple teamed.  Buzz Steel finally makes in into the ring but over 15 minutes have passed.  He begins to clean house but then the Smashers come out led by MJ.  The champs stare at them as they make their way to the ring.   Biceps Bannerman is beaten up on the outside by Chic and Billy.  Billy gets back in the ring.  The Smashers laugh at the champs and just then, our mystery person sneaks in from the crowd.  Wait, that is Handsome Hernandez and he is sizing up Biceps but then turns and drops Chic.  Buzz then hurls Billy out of the ring and Hernandez hits Billy with a double arm kneebreaker.  Billy is unable to make it back into the ring and ends up getting counted out.   The Steel Curtain and Biceps Bannerman win this one on a count out.  The Smashers then attack Wendell and Chic some more all the while leaving the champs alone.  I wonder what is up with that.

That’s it for now.  Stay tuned for more action.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2016 #502 – Labor Day super show

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  Today’s show is a Super Show that will culminate with our Main Event being a Hell in a Cell between ‘the King of Cones’ Magnum Kone and ‘The Ragin Cajun’ Rad Gumbo.  Our GM Max McGillicutty has stated that 3 local talents will get a shot at a contract within the HCW tonight.  He says that he has his eye on additional talents but was not able to come to an agreement before today’s show.   Max kicks off the show after the pyro goes off and says that the new talent got to pick names out of a bowl and that is who they are wrestling tonight.  He introduces the first person.  His name is ScooterJ and right off the bat, he flips the fans off so it’s safe to say he is not a good guy.  He gets down to the ring and starts mouthing off with the fans at ringside.  Man, he really is not making friends.  He gets in the ring and takes the mic from the ring announcer.  “Listen, I’m not here to make friends…I’m here because I want to be a champion.  I don’t need you stupid fans cheering for me.  My talent will speak for itself.  So sit your fat, out of shape selves down and watch pure awesomeness.”  He gives the mic back to the ring announcer and yells at the fans a bit more.  His opponent comes out…well, I guess he got the easiest match tonight…it’s Turnip!  Turnip tries to tell Max that he shouldn’t be wrestling but Max tells him to go to the ring.  A ‘Turnip’ chant starts and that ticks off ScooterJ.  Turnip gets in the ring and is immediately attacked by ScooterJ.  He chokes Turnip on the ropes but manages to hit a suplex after struggling a bit.  ScooterJ then chopped Turnip in the throat and then eye raked him a few times.  ScooterJ bodyslams Turnip who then tries to plead for the beating to stop but that just infuriated ScooterJ all the more.  He slapped him across the face and with one final eye gouge, made the cover (with him arm over Turnip’s face) and got the 1-2-3.  ScooterJ is victorious in his first match.  He flips the fans off again before leaving.  Turnip has to be helped up and receives applause from the crowd.  (8 min)

Max stands by and watches as ScooterJ and (eventually) Turnip leave.  He then says he wants to introduce our next new person.  He is called Pete Punsher but calls himself the PUN-isher.  Pete makes his way to the ring and introduces himself as a comedian who, after trying his hand at stand up (and failing miserably), he wanted to give wrestling a try but says this new crowd will love him after they get a whiff of his (verbal) skills.  He asks for a mic.

“You are going to love this.  Tonight, you are treated to some of the best PUNS out there.  Stand by to be amazed.

“What time did the man go to the dentist? Tooth hurt-y.”  The crowd groans.  “Ok, what about this one:”

“Did you hear about the guy who invented Lifesavers? They say he made a mint.”  The crowd groans even louder.  “COME ON…Ok, here is a really good one.”

“Why do chicken coops only have two doors? Because if they had four, they would be chicken sedans!”  By now, the fans realized this guy SUCKS at comedy and they let him know it by throwing crap at him in the ring.  Pete gets mad.  “You wouldn’t know a good pun if it bit you on the ass.”  Before Pete can continue, his opponent comes out.  It is one half of the Ryzing Storm – Terra Ryzing.  Pete’s eyes go all wide and he (over exaggerates a gulp) and bails from the ring once Terra gets in it.  The fans don’t like Terra either but they seem to tolerate him more than the PUN-isher.  I guess we expected either too much out of Terra or Pete is just that good but the PUN-isher beat the holy hell out of Terra.  It was almost a massacre.  Terra maybe got in 6 or 7 moves.  That was it.  When Pete was done, he hit Terra with the PUN-ctuation and got the 1-2-3.  Pete the PUN-isher is victorious in his first outing.  (17 min).  Pete leaves as the fans throw stuff at him.  Max just shakes his head in disbelief.

We cut backstage where El Gato Negro issues a challenge to Ravishing Raquel for her money in the bank contract.  Raquel questions why El Gato wants “some of this” but El Gato says she’s not done with the Duchess and wants…no, needs this match.  Raquel says she will humor her and give her a match.

Southern Belle makes her way out to the ring and says tonight, she will be scouting not 1, not 2 but 3 matches to see who she wants to potentially manage.  She goes to sit at ringside and awaits the nexst match.

Max comes back out and introduces the 3rd person wanting to give wrestling a shot.  He introduces Scarlett Phoenix.  Scarlett makes her way out (she’s a red head) dressed in black (kinda like Marvel’s Black Widow).  She gets cheered as she makes her way to the ring.  As she enters the ring, Sarona Reiher makes her way out and questions why this ‘nobody’ thinks she can just waltz in and get a contract when the rest of them had to earn it the hard way.  When Scarlett tries to respond, Sarona attacks her.  I guess this is Scarlett’s opponent for the match.  Sarona tried to cheat multiple times along the way but Scarlett never gave up.  In fact, she went toe to toe with her for the entire 20 minute match.  This was about as even as it can get (from a points perspective) and Sarona was pissed when she could not score the pin in time.  She attacked Scarlett again and this time, she got dumped from the ring by Scarlett.  Sarona screamed that this was not over and Scarlett would be sorry.   Scarlett waved to the fans and was cheered as she made her way to the back.  (20 min)

Backstage, Leiton and Niven Snake approach the Ambassador and say that they want a rematch against Phat Sol and ‘Red Hot’ Lucas Johnston.  The Ambassador quickly draws up a contract but Leiton and Niven both scoff at it.  P&L walk over and after some name calling, the Snake brothers agreed.  The match will be held at the next show.  The Ambassador says that the team of Phat and Lucas will now be known as P&L.

We go back to the ring for our next Ladies match.  First, out comes ½ of the HCW twins Felicia Cummings.  She gets in the ring and then her opponent, member of the Queen’s Court, the British Crippler makes her way down.  Belle seems to be impressed with the Crippler and starts to jot notes down.  This one too ended up going to a 20 minute draw and as the cameraman zooms in on Belle’s notes, we see that she wrote down a lot more for the British Crippler than she did for Felicia.  I guess we know who is NOT on the short list.  (20 min).  Belle packs up her stuff and she’ll be back out later for the match between Raquel and El Gato Negro.

Drew the Canadian Love Machine is backstage and he comments to Larry Morton that he has one of the best records in all of HCW and it’s astonishing that he is not wearing gold.  Drew states that after he beats Oswald Zimmerman (5th Column member), he will be issuing a challenge for a belt.  Larry asks which one but Drew doesn’t answer.

We go back to the ring for the next match.  First, Desperado member Leon Teremoto comes out and says that his tag team partner El Chango wanted the night off so he gets to wrestle in singles competition.  He tells whoever in the back to send out his opponent.  Almost right on cue, out comes the Crocodile Hunter and he is dressed in an outfit with a crocodile head on it and is wearing makeup that looks like his head in surrounded by teeth.   Croc hits the ring and Leon goes right after him.  Leon just smothered Croc hitting him so hard his teeth rattled.  Croc got tossed out of the ring early and Leon followed him out and threw him into the steel steps hard.  He dragged Croc back into the ring and continued to overwhelm him.  Leon picked Croc up and powerbombed Croc first on the top turnbuckle then in the ring.  He made the cover and got the 1-2-3 pretty easy.  Leon looked strong in his singles outing.  (8 min)

Magnum Kone is backstage and he says he is tired of Rad Gumbo constantly interfering in his matches and hopes that after tonight’s Hell in a Cell, things will finally be put to rest, and he can get back on with his life.

We head back to the ring where Oswald Zimmerman and his manager Ant Graham are pacing while waiting for their opponent to come out.  Drew pops through the curtain and the crowd explodes.  Drew has gotten the largest pops of the night.  The fans just LOVE this guy.  Ant and Oswald try to get the fans to quiet down but that only riles them up all the more.  This match was pretty even mostly because Ant kept interfering.  Finally, the ref caught him and threatened to send him from the ring.  Ant begged and promised not to do it anymore.  Drew ended up behind him and popped him once in the jaw.  Ant went down like a ton of bricks.  Drew got back in the ring and used a handstand headscissors to send Oswald crashing into the corner.  Drew then rolled him up and got the 1-2-3.  Drew celebrates his win but it is cut short when the Savior shows up on the stage.  He acts like he’s going to interfere but then walks off.  Drew then says he is issuing a challenge to Dude USA Mick Rude for the US title.  (14 min)

Southern Belle makes her way back out and sits at commentary for the 3rd and final women’s match of the evening.  First, El Gato Negro comes out and she gets a good pop from the crowd.  Next, Ravishing Raquel comes out and is accompanied by Master Bull but he does not go with her to ringside.  He tells her something and then leaves.  She makes her way to the ring.  The two go at it as soon as the bell rings and for the first 10 minutes, it looked like El Gato Negro was going to win but then the Ladies Champion the Duchess came out and it threw El Gato off her game.  Raquel capitalized and just a few short minutes later, connected with the Simply Ravishing and made the cover, hooking the leg for the 1-2-3.  Ravishing Raquel retains her contract. The Duchess enters the ring after El Gato left and she and Raquel have a stare down but it’s the champ who actually breaks eye contact first and backs off.  (15 min)

Rad Gumbo with his manager MJ are backstage.  MJ says that Magnum Kone is a bad joke that needs to be put away for good.  Rad says “Mon Ami, you be messin’ with da wrong Cajun.  Tonight, your sad little career is over.”

As the Hell in a Cell is being lowered over the ring, Max comes out to thank the fans for attending and reminds them that after next Sunday (9/11) we will go back to twice a week cards.

The Cell has been secured so we are ready for our main event.   Rad Gumbo w/ his manager MJ comes out first.  He enters the unforgiving structure.  The ref tells MJ he is not allowed inside the structure.  Magnum Kone comes out next accompanied by Haagen and Daas and they distribute ice cream to the fans at ringside.  Gumbo taunts Magnum from inside the cell.  Magnum makes his way into the cell and the match is underway.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2016 #501 – PPV fallout

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  It’s been a week since the PPV and as expected, there have been a lot of grumblings going on and where there’s smoke, there usually is fire.   Before we get into all that, the show kicks off with pyro and a familiar face comes out on stage.  It’s Southern Belle.  She gets a welcome back chant from the crowd and she heads to the ring.

Belle asks for a mic and tells the fans that it is great to be back in the HCW.  After some soul searching, she decided this is where she needs to be.  She says that although she’s back, she will not be returning to the ring.  Fans chant “one more match” and she says “maybe, one day” but for now, she is back in a manager capacity.     Over the next few weeks, she will scout the Ladies division to see who she wants to lead to glory.  She has her eye on someone already but wants to see how things play out.  Belle says that the search begins now.

She exits the ring and goes to sit at commentary as our first match of the night kicks off.   Kimberly Kiccass comes out first to a decent reaction.  Next, Taylor Bella comes out and she is accompanied by Madame Jade who is on crutches.  Jade is trying to talk to Taylor but Taylor looks focused and ready for her match.  Taylor did well for the first 6 minutes of the match but finally Madame Jade yelling at her “I just want to talk” finally got to her and Kimberly took advantage.   Kimberly took the match to Taylor and started making headway.  Jade, realizing that Taylor would not talk to her until the match was over decided to step in.  Kimberly hit Taylor with the Christo but Taylor hits her with a dropkick.  At the same time, Jade pulled down the top rope and Kimberly went sailing over it and crashed to the floor.  The ref made the count but Kimberly couldn’t get back in in time and got counted out.  Taylor wins this one by countout.  Jade says “Now will you talk to me?” but Taylor just made her way to the back and Jade slowly followed.  (10 ½ min)

Backstage, Dr. Red Fang and his manager Ant Graham are complaining that the Fiend cheated (wait, what…in a hardcore match?) and he demands a rematch.  Fang says that he will destroy all opponents until he gets his title shot.  “Vampire Lunges for Everyone!” Fang exclaims.

We head back to the ring for our next match.  Leiton and Niven Snake make their way out to the ring first.  They are then followed out by the Ambassador who announces their competitors are Phat Sol and ‘Red Hot’ Lucas Johnston.  The trio walk to the ring and get ready for action.  For the first 8 minutes of the match, Phat and Lucas owned the ring.  The Ambassador provided what they needed to tear into their opponents but after a miscommunication between Phat and Lucas, the Snake’s took over.  They took turns isolating their opponents and started to make a comeback.  They could not get a pin however as Phat or Lucas continued to make the save.  As the clock was running down, Niven hit a leaping clothesline but the Ambassador ended up tripping him.  He then handed Lucas a foreign object.  Just before he could use it though, the bell rang bringing this one to a draw finish.   Phat got in the ring and took the object from Lucas and used it to bust open both Niven and Leiton.  The Ambassador applauded Phat’s ingenuity and raised the arms of both men before leaving.  (20 min draw)

Back in Max’s office, El Chango walks in and tells Max that his tag team partner Leon Teremoto needed the night off so he wants a singles match tonight.  Max says he will make it happen.

We’re back in the ring for our next match.  First, Magnum Kone, the King of Cones makes his way to the ring accompanied by Haagen and Daas and they hand out ice cream to the fans at ringside.  They are interrupted by Wilber Townsend who calls this a pathetic excuse to cater to the masses.  Wilber asks Magnum if he thinks the fans really give a damn about him or if they’re on the gravy train because of the free frozen treats.  Wilber pushes enough of Magnum’s buttons to get him to agree to an impromptu match.   Wilber did not play by normal rules and he cheated everywhere he could and then played innocent when he got caught.  We think that what Wilber told him really got the King of Cones thinking and began second guessing himself.  He did managed to make it to the 20 minute mark and after nullifying a short arm clothesline from Wilber, the bell rang.  Magnum didn’t get a second to rest as ‘the Ragin Cajun’ Rad Gumbo ran in from the audience and dropped the King of Cones.  Gumbo had a brief stare down with Wilber but posed over Magnum.  He then dropped a piece of paper on Magnum.  We got a look at it and it was a contract for the two of them to meet in a Hell in a Cell.  Interesting.  (20 min draw)

We cut to the back where Clarkus Kentus is interviewing Ivan Dragovich.  Ivan says he is declaring war on Ant Graham and the 5th Column.  When asked if he was going to seek out help, Ivan replied that he realizes he may not be trustworthy based on prior actions so if he has to do this solo, he will.

We head back to the ring for our next match.  First, the Wraith comes out to booing from the fans.  Next, all dressed up in crocodile gear and makeup comes the Crocodile Hunter.  He gets a big pop and that infuriates the Wraith.   Wraith attacks Croc before the bell.  Croc immediately shrugged it off and took the match hard to the Wraith.  Wraith could not believe the ferocity coming from Croc.   At one point, he thought he had enough and tried to leave but Croc followed him out of the ring and then whipped him into the stairs.  Wraith went tumbling over the steps and then was seen holding his ankle.  Croc threw him back in the ring and the Wraith tried to beg him off but a moment’s hesitation was met with a low blow.  The Wraith laughed until Croc pulled Wraith’s leg out from beneath him and locked in an ankle lock.  The Wraith screamed in pain and to avoid further injury, he tapped out.   The Crocodile Hunter wins this one.  He celebrates briefly and then leaves.  The Wraith is booed as he limps to the back.  (10 min).

Back in his office, GM Max McGillicutty announces the main event will have ‘The Elitist’ Reid Rothchild defending the TV title against the “dark storm” in Travis Ryzing.

El Chango makes his way to the ring and awaits his opponent.  Much to his surprise, out comes the Shockmaster.  El Chango laughs a bit out loud and then motions for the Shockmaster to get in the ring with him.  El Chango was surprised when the Shockmaster went toe to toe with him for 9 minutes.  He decided to try something different.  He went for the Phoenix Splash but it got reversed and Shockmaster tried for some elbow smashes in the corner but that too was reversed and El Chango dropped him with a flying spinning heel kick.  He then picked him up and nailed the Diamond Dust.  He went for the pin and got the 1-2-3.  El Chango wins this one.  (11 min)

Backstage, the World Champion the Stache makes an appearance and talks with Larry Morton.  The Stache talks about how King CJ, afraid of defending his title, found a reason not to wrestle him.  He continued talking about the high-end talent in Outback Oscar, Sonic Blade and the Axe.  He says that most likely his first title defense will be against one of these men.  When asked about the Wraith, Stache said “I’m not through with him but he is NOT even remotely qualified to fight for this title.”  The segment ended with the Stache posing with his title.

It is time for our Main event.  First, the challenger Travis ‘Dark Storm’ Ryzing makes his way to the ring to a small buzz from the crowd.  Music hits and the fans pop as Master Bull, Ravishing Raquel and the TV Champion Reid Rothchild make their way down to the ring.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says he wants this to be a best of 3 falls, 30 minute time limit match.  Reid immediately locks in the Figure Four Reid Lock but Travis makes it to the ropes.  Reid turns and gloats but then gets caught up in a Power Full Nelson.  Reid freaks out and instead of waving, he (inadvertently) tapped the arm of Travis and the ref took that as a tap out and awarded the fall to Travis.   Master Bull started freaking out on the outside of the ring.   A very pissed off Reid turned up the heat and 8 minutes later, the Reid Leg drop scored him a 3 count.  Now both men are tied at 1 fall each.  Just as soon as the bell rang, Reid went in and DESTROYED Travis.  He beat him from pillar to post and everything in between.  He barely let the kid up for a breath of air.  Reid consistently went for the leg/knee of Travis trying to weaken it.  Finally, when he thought the damage was done, he locked in the Figure Four Reid Lock and Travis tapped out almost immediately.  Reid wins the match and retains his title.  Master Bull and Ravishing Raquel join him in the ring and celebrate the win.

After the match Raquel asks for a mic and states she almost cashed in at the PPV but chose not to only because she didn’t want the Duchess to complain about losing after fighting one match already.  When she does cash in, she will expect the champ to be at the top of her game and that way when she wins, the Duchess can’t say crap.  Eventually they all leave.

GM Max comes back out and says that the next show will be a Labor Day super show and says that he will host ‘open tryouts’ for anyone who wants to try for a shot at a contract.  We look forward to seeing if anyone wants to give it a shot.  Also, he says that Magnum Kone has signed the contract and at the super show, Magnum vs Rad Gumbo in a Hell in the Cell will be our Main Event.

Stay Tuned.  More action to follow.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2016 #500 – Reign of Champions PPV – Denver, CO

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  Tonight’s show, our PPV titled “Reign of Champions” which is also our milestone #500th issue.  Our event is sold out here in Denver, Colorado but we are coming to you worldwide on PPV via your TV.

Many of the wrestlers and Hollywood superstars who were at the Hall of Fame ceremony on Friday also seem to be here.  The Owners are here and they are up in their box.  Pyro goes off and our PPV is underway.

GM Max McGillicutty comes out and thanks the fans for being here live as well as tuning in all over the world.  He tells us that since newsletters were started being published to cover the HWF and CSWA, this one right here will be the 500th issue.  The fans pop.  He promises to make this a show that the fans will not forget.  He adds that all matches tonight will get 30 minute time limits.  To get things kicked off, we go to pre-show taped comments from the competitors in our first two matches.

Dr. Red Fang, Hardcore Champion, is with his manager Ant Graham.  Fang exclaims “Vampire Lunges for everyone.”  Ant tells Fang to save it for the ring and his opponent tonight.  Graham tells the Fiend that he bit off more than he can chew and questions how he will be able to survive.

We cut over to the Fiend.  He tells us tonight is his time to shine.  He achieved some fame when teaming/feuding with the Miz but tonight, he has the opportunity to acquire a championship belt.   Win or lose, he will make sure Dr. Fang remembers this night for a long time.

The World tag team champions the Smashers are with MJ.  They once again question why they are wasting their time with a team who hasn’t teamed together once.  MJ tells them that it just means it will be a cake walk and they will be victorious.

We cut over to The Ambassador and the team of Phat Sol and ‘Red Hot’ Lucas Johnston.  The Ambassador says that the reason he put these two together is because no one knows what to expect and that will be the key to them winning here tonight.  When asked about the Fiend, the Ambassador called him a nobody and said Fang will eat him alive.

Pyro goes off again and the Fiend makes his way down to the ring.  The fans cheer him as he enters the ring.  The music changes abruptly and out comes the Hardcore Champion Dr. Red Fang and his manager Ant Graham.  Fang has been relentless since coming under the guidance from Graham.  Tonight though, Graham will not play a part in the match because of the hardcore rules tied to this championship.  The announcers tells us the rules for this match will be a ‘Tables, Ladders and Chairs’ match.  Fang immediately starts off with hitting the Fiend with multiple chair shots.  After clocking the Dr. with a ladder, the Fiend set up a table on the outside of the ring.  Fang attacked him and hit a Transylvania piledriver on the floor.  He went for the cover but ended up pulling the Fiend up.  He dragged him back in the ring but got stunned when the Fiend hit the 3 hits from Hell (rapid punches).  He hit Fang’s leg with a chair and went for the Devil Lock (figure 4) but Fang made it to the ropes.  Fang then hits a Vampire’s Lunge but the Fiend got the chair up just in time and both went down.  Fang recovered first and hit another Transylvania Piledriver.  He then set the ladder up to where it was just over the table.  He pulled the Fiend up and tried to suplex him off but the Fiend stopped it and nailed the 3 hits from Hell.  Fang fell off the ladder and crashed through the table below.  The Fiend climbed down and made the cover.  1…2…3 seconds later and we have a NEW HARDCORE CHAMPION!  The Fiend took the title and celebrated in the ring while Ant Graham helped the Dr. to the back. (12:56).

We cut to the back and challenger Dude USA Mick Rude approaches the US Champion Superstar Chic Monroe.  Rude tells Monroe he wants this to be a ‘wrestling match’ and challenges the champ to accept the stipulation.  Monroe responds with “I do this for a living.  You really want me to wrestle you for 30 minutes?  Fine.  It’s your funeral.”  This stipulation means that there will be special rules in place for when someone wants to go for a pin.

It is time for tag team action.  The Ambassador makes his way out with his protégés Phat Sol and ‘Red Hot’ Lucas Johnston.  Fans are mixed for Lucas because they like him but can’t understand why he aligned himself with the Ambassador and Phat Sol.  Music changes and manager MJ comes out first.  “Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you – YOUR World Tag Team Champions  - The Smashers!  They come out and they are wearing gear similar to what the Road Warriors did back in the day and MAN are the fans pissed about it.  They are pissed enough to maybe actually cheer for their opponents.  The Smasher walk to the ring without caring what the fans think.  The go right on the offensive and attack Phat and Lucas but the challengers fight back.  The Smashers were dominating this one like they’ve done in the past but MJ never really had to contend with another manager interfering in his team’s match.  While the Smashers were cleaning house inside the ring, MJ and the Ambassador were fighting on the outside of the ring.  At one point, the Ambassador grabbed a chair and tried to hit Smasher #2 with it but MJ grabbed the chair and the two had a tug of war over it.  The ref came over to tell the two of them to break it up and just then, the Ambassador let go and without the tension on the other side, MJ swung the chair, full force, right into the ref.  The ref immediately called for the bell disqualifying the Smashers for MJ’s interference.  The Ambassador was all proud of himself until he realized that belts do NOT change hands on a DQ.  Lucas and Phat win this one but they do not win the titles.  (11 min).  Just as the Smashers were leaving (and berating MJ for costing them a win), Lucas got on the mic and said that at a PPV, this is not how things should end.  He says that the Smashers should come back to the ring but without MJ and they will ask the Ambassador to leave and then they can finish this one.  The Smashers blow them off until Phat starts calling them ‘chicken’ and the fans join in.  They rush back to the ring and I guess this one is starting over.

The champs once again dominated their challengers but this time, Phat and Lucas put up a much tougher fight and the Smashers had to work that much harder.  All 4 men fought in the ring multiple times but it wasn’t until the Smashers pulled Lucas out of the ring and hit a double Steel Smasher on Lucas through a table at ringside.  Lucas seems to be injured.  The Smashers played around with Phat but then realized that the time limit was almost up.  Smasher #1 went for a DDT but it got reversed into the Phat Phat (Brainbuster) and Phat almost got the 3 count but Smasher #2 made the save.  A low blow followed by a stomp on Phat had him staring up at the lights for 3 seconds.  The Smashers get the win via pin and retain their titles.  Phat recovered and helped Lucas to the back.  (18 min)

We go backstage again and we get to hear from the Russian and 5th Column member Ivan Dragovich.  Ivan is with Ant Graham.  Graham says that Ivan is stronger than ever and will destroy ‘the Elitist’.  Ivan mutters “I will break you” and holds the TV title up and then walks off.

In the other interview area, Reid Rothchild is with his wife Ravishing Raquel and his manager Master Bull.  Bull says that Reid is ready and before the end of the night, he (Reid) will have gold and he (Bull) will finally be a manager of champions.  Reid says he’s prepared himself for the Russian (he even watched Rocky IV to psyche himself up) and tonight, he becomes a champion once again.  Raquel is standing there holding her briefcase.  She is asked if she’s cashing it in tonight.  She smiles and shrugs her shoulders.

“Born in the USA” blares over the loudspeakers and out comes Dude USA Mick Rude.  Rude gets a decent pop and shakes hands with the fans as he makes his way around the ring.  He climbs in and pulls on the ropes to do some stretching.  Music changes and out comes the US Champion Superstar Chic Monroe.  Monroe doesn’t acknowledge the fans at all.  He climbs in the ring and stares eye to eye with Mick.  The bell rings and this one is underway.  Chic hits Mick with a swiss uppercut and Mick nails an elbow smash.  Mick goes for the Dude Awakening but Chic reverses it and tries to send Mick to the outside of the ring but that too is reversed and takes Chic down with a single leg takedown.  Chic is very frustrated.  He remained that way for the entire match as Dude USA totally outwrestled the Swiss Superman.  And per his strategy, he only went for one pin attempt during the entire match.  Chic tried to battle back and after eye raking Dude, he climbed the turnbuckle.  He jumped and just then Mick hit him with a clothesline.  HOLY CRAP!  What a move!  Mick dragged Chic to the center of the ring and hooked the leg for the 1-2-3.  Mick Rude has just defeated Chic Monroe to become the NEW US CHAMPION!  Dude USA’s music plays and after posing with the title, he shook hands with the fans and left.  Chic kind of sulked out on his own.  (15 min)  The fans chanting “Dude…Dude…Dude” went on for a few minutes even after Mick left.

Backstage, El Gato Negro talks about how this is her lifelong dream and tonight, her dream is coming true.  She is 100% healthy (after she almost had a cataclysmic reaction to peanuts) and tonight is her night.

The Duchess is also backstage and says there is no way in hell she is losing the title tonight.  Come lying, cheating or stealing, she will be victorious.

It is time for the TV Championship match.  First, the Elitist Reid Rothchild and Master Bull head to the ring.  Next, champion Ivan Dragovich and his manager Ant Graham head to the ring.  The ref reminds both managers that they are barred from ringside.   Both managers provide last minute advice and then leave and go to sit in chairs at the top of the ramp (They sit on either side to avoid any altercations).  Ivan is thrown out of the ring but he is back in quick and hits a jumping side kick.  He goes for a quick pin but Reid kicks out.  Reid is up and nails a Reid Bottom.  He followed it up with the Rothchild Leg Drop.  Ivan shook off the cobwebs and hit Reid with the Accolade.  Ivan went for a swinging side slam but Reid neutralized it.  Ivan went for a diving headbutt but Reid moved.  Reid tossed Ivan out of the ring and it looked like he was going to get counted out but Reid dragged him back in before the 10 count.  Ivan rolled out again and Reid had to drag him back in but not before slamming his leg into the steel steps.  Reid then locked in the Figure Four Reid Lock and it was just too much for the champ and he tapped out.  ‘The Elitist’ Reid Rothchild has just become the NEW TV CHAMPION!   Master Bull ran down and congratulated his protégé.  Ivan remained in the ring holding his leg.  Master Bull and the new champ left and Ant Graham, who had made is way down, entered the ring.  He began to verbally attack Ivan.  Ivan decided he’d had enough and stood up towering over Ant.  He grabbed him by the throat and looked to chokeslam him but the rest of the 5th Column (Karl Braun, Oswald Zimmerman and Baron von Blood) all ran down and attacked and beat down on Ivan.  Ant kept yelling at them to continue the attack.  Finally, Baron held Ivan up and Ant slapped him repeatedly across the face.  They dropped Ivan on the mat and Ant & the 5th Column all left.  Ivan had to be helped to the back.  (9 min for the match; 15 for the segment)

Backstage, the Six Man tag team champs the Steel Curtain are there with their partner Biceps Bannerman.  Buzz says he could talk all day about the Muscles but he’s giving the mic to Biceps.  Bannerman says that the Muscles Trio have cost them tag and singles matches and tonight, he and the Steel Curtain will show why THEY are the champs.  Buzz picks up the trophy and Starbuck leans in and both men say “WORD”.

The Muscles Trio (Thorpe, Weasley & McGuire) say that the Steel Curtain and their roided up buddy are full of crap.  It was they who cost the Muscles championship after championship.  Tonight, they take the trophy and then no one can ever say anything bad about them again.  The three put on their rainbow colored bull horns and then skip out.

The next match on our lineup is for the Ladies title.  First, El Gato Negro comes out to a huge pop.  The time off did her good and she looks to be in great shape.  She is followed out by the Ladies Champion the Duchess.  She is booed as expected and makes a beeline for the ring.  She gets in and the two of them stare at each other until the bell rings.  El Gato went for quite a few pin attempts but the ref (nicknamed Slow Count Sam) was slow on everything…pin attempts, breaking holds when in the corner, even going for countouts.  These two definitely brought their A game and the fans applauded both.  The two kept up their fast paces for the entire match.  El Gato, seeing the time limit was getting ready to expire, tried for the Wall-O-Cato but ended up eating a superkick from the Duchess.  Duchess made a cover and the ref, slow as usual, counted 1………….2…….. and then the bell rang bringing this one to a 30 minute draw.  El Gato was disappointed and started to leave the ring.  The Duchess took her title and started to parade around with it until music changed and standing at the top of the ramp was Ravishing Raquel with the contract for her title shot.  IS SHE CASHING IT IN?  She stares at the Duchess and then turns and leaves.  The Duchess narrowly avoided another match.   WAIT…Raquel turns and rushes to the ring.  She drops the Duchess with clotheslines and then locks in the Ravishing Chickenwing.  The Duchess is tapping out but Raquel doesn’t let up.  Finally, refs come from the back to break it up.  Raquel smiles as she takes her contract and leaves.  I think she just made a point.

This time, we cut to pre-recorded messages from our 4 contenders to the World Title.  We start off with Outback Oscar.

OO:  You know, I’ve been a top contender for this belt for a long time and I haven’t received my shot so now I get to challenge 3 other men for a belt I should have had a 1:1 shot.  Nevertheless, my record speaks for itself and tonight, I will finally get Gold wrapped around my waist.  No tool (Axe), cowboy (the Stache) or someone named after a fast food restaurant will stand in my way.  Tonight, I will be victorious.

Next we cut over to the Axe.

Axe:  Once you’ve had the taste of championships, you never want to let it go.  Once I got rid of the dead weight hanging around my neck, I felt it time to assert my dominance in the sport and I did it by becoming the World Champion. The method in which I lost is questionable but nonetheless, it is time for me to get my belt back.  That happens tonight.  Oscar, Sonic and the Stache area all great competitors but none are the Axe and “WHATCHA GONNA DO WHEN THE AXE DECAPITATES YOU?”

Our third promo comes from Sonic Blade.

SB:  Each and every one of these guys tonight are some of the hardest workers in the business.  I like to think of myself as up there with them.  I may not have been a former World Champion like the Axe or an International superstar as Outback Oscar or even ‘one Stache to rule them all’…I’m Sonic Blade and tonight, I will achieve the dream I’ve had ever since stepping into the ring…to become the World Champion.  Tonight is my night.

Finally, the one and only Stache gets his turn.

Stache:  I’ve had to deal with Apparitions (the Wraith), with those who’s tried to steal my identity (El Chango and Leon Teremoto – the Desperados), and even a poser who thought he was royalty.   Tonight, the Stache starts the next chapter in his life and that begins with me as the World Champion.  I’ve fought my way through the muck and mire to get to where I am today and nothing will stop me from having my arm raised and introduced as the NEW World Champion.

We go back to the ring for our next match.  The steel cage is being assembled.  First, the challengers the Muscles Trio come out.  Muscles Weasley, Thorpe and McGuire all make their way to the ring.  They are wearing their rainbow colored bull horns.  The jog around the ring acting all goofy.  Music changes and out comes Biceps Bannerman and the Steel Curtain (Buzz and Starbuck Steel).  They have a look of determination on their faces and are ready – finally – for the chance to beat the holy hell out of the Muscles Trio.  Behind them, the 6 man tag team trophy is on a rolling flatbed and it is brought down to ringside.  The Muscles Trio enter the cage first and are followed by the champs.  There is so much riding on this match – not only a trophy defense but revenge as these two teams have clashed over the past few months.  The cage is locked and the bell rings starting this one off.  GM Max McGillicutty says he wants this one to be the final match between these two teams so he gives them no time limit.

There is so much bad blood between these two teams that it took them 31 minutes to close the chapter on this one.  Buzz started off by nailing McGuire with brass knuckles drawing blood. He went for a quick pin but McGuire kicked out.  Muscles Thorpe gets tagged in and tries to crush Buzz’s fingers against the cage but Buzz reversed it and nailed the Buzzkill.  He went for another quick pin but Thorpe kicked out.  This went on with both teams holding the advantage over each other for the rest of the match.   We join the match now at the 25 minute mark.

GM Max McGillicutty comes out with the World title.  He says that 4 men have an opportunity to achieve greatness; one will stand out over the others.  He says that now, it is time for the main event to crown a new World Champion.  Max wants a solid winner so he gives this one no time limit. There must be a winner by pin or submission.

First, Outback Oscar makes his way down to the ring.  He is followed out by The Stache, then the Axe and finally Sonic Blade.  The four men face off in the ring and then the bell rings starting this one off.  This one was a true slobberknocker that went on for 37 minutes.  None of the competitors would give an inch and each one of them threw 150% at this match.  You could see it on each one of their faces that this is something the wanted, nay, needed.  Right off the bat, Oscar nullified the Axe.  Then the Stache and Axe collided in the ring and both fell out injured.  Oscar and Blade then went at it.  Finally, they rejoined but at that time were at a disadvantage due to the injury.  The Stache started to battle back after raking the head of Oscar (accidentally?) with his spurs.   It wasn’t until 22 minutes in that we saw our first pin attempt after Sonic hit the Stache with the Alhambra Attack but Oscar pulled him off at the 1 count.   Stache then tries to lock Oscar in the Handlebar (camel clutch) but it is nullified.  Four minutes later, Sonic catches the Axe with a sunset flip and tries for a pin only to have it broken up by the Stache at the 1 count.  We now join the match at the 30 minute mark.

The Stache wins with a THE LASSO (CLOTHESLINE) over The Axe to become the NEW WORLD CHAMPION!!!

Max comes back down to the ring and awards the World title to the Stache as balloons and streamers fall from the ceiling.   The new champ shakes hands with all his competitors and then celebrates in the ring and the show comes to an end.

On a side note, the HCW has been aggressive with the number of shows they’ve been running but have decided to slow down a bit (plus the talent needs a break).  For the next two weeks, there will be only one show a week (Sun)
