HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #817 – Zero Hour PPV Day 1 (12/13)

Hello fans and welcome back to the latest installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter. Our end of the year PPV Zero Hour is finally here.  There has been a change to the card today.  Due to the US Champion Apollo Gyze missing a flight and not being able to show up (he didn’t even apologize either), we moved that match to Saturday and will add ‘Red Hot’ King Lucas Johnston vs TNT and the Anytime/Anywhere Champion Shawn ‘Abs of Stone’ Austin vs Biceps Bannerman to the card tonight.

Battle Royal for an open title shot – any active wrestler on the roster can fight for either a shot at the Ladies Title for the women or the World Title for the men.

Red Hot vs TNT.

Also, here is a quick look at today’s list of HCW Champions:

GM Max McGillicutty comes out and is accompanied by (former Phoenix Heat) GM Master Bull.  Both men thank the fans for attending live and on PPV.  Some of the crowd started a “Bring back Heat” chant but Bull nixed it early saying “I wish I could but as of now, there is no home for us.  Who knows what the future will bring but I can guarantee, I will be working alongside Max to bring you the absolute best wrestling out there.”  The fans pop.  Max then excuses themselves so that the show can begin.

We being with Biceps Bannerman making his way out first to a nice pop from the fans.  He makes his way down and into the ring.  He begins to get the crowd psyched up but they turn sour when the Anytime/Anywhere Champion Shawn ‘Abs of Stone’ Austin comes out.  He flaunts his washboard abs and carries the title draped over his shoulder.  He is at first reluctant to get in the ring but eventually does.  He jawjacks with Biceps who is sent to his corner by the ref but before he does, Shawn nails Biceps with a low blow.  The bell rings and Shawn picks up Biceps and nails a fisherman’s suplex.  He goes right for the pin but Biceps powers out at 2.  Shawn lays in with some power forearms and Biceps hits a huge chop to the chest (WOOO).  Shawn in stunned at first but hits another fisherman’s suplex.  Biceps rolls out of the ring to avoid the pin attempt.  He makes it back in.  Shawn goes for some more power forearms but Biceps reverses it and drops him with a clothesline.  Shawn takes Biceps off his feet with an arm drag but Biceps is up blindingly fast and locks Shawn up with the Biceps Crunch (bearhug).  Shawn has no chance to make it to the ropes so he taps out.  Biceps drops Shawn to the mat and has his arm raised in victory via submission and is the NEW Anytime/Anywhere Champion!  Biceps holds the title high but he is ambushed by Col. Samuel Flagg.  Flagg doesn’t stick around after the initial attack.  He makes his way to safety and challenges Biceps to a match on Day 3 of the PPV.  Biceps accepts.  The new champ celebrates with the fans before heading to the back.  (5 min)

The battle royal was up next.  The eliminations went blindingly fast until there were two people left – Killa Pops and the World Champion The Wicked Prophet.  Prophet had been faking an injury and sat out most of the match.  When it came down to the final two, Prophet told Pops to lay down and do the job.  Pops refused and dropped the champ with a stiff right.  Prophet got to his feet rubbing his jaw and then this one began:  3 minutes into the match, Prophet threw Pops into the steel post injuring Pops’ shoulder.  He then dragged Pops back into the ring and locked in the Crucifix Clutch.  Pops tapped out early to avoid any additional damage being done giving the win of the Battle Royal to the World Champion.  Prophet got on the mic and said “Obviously, I am the World Champion and there is nowhere to go as I am already ruling the roost however, I will keep this in case someone robs me of my title.  It will be my insurance policy to protect me from the bullshit that goes on backstage.”   Prophet has his hand raised and he makes his way to the back.

We cut to the back and are with Violet Valkyrie.  Violet almost went the distance in the battle royal but Hayley ended up coming out and helped eliminate Violet.  She says that she gets Hayley in a grudge match tonight and there is no where she can run; no where she can hide.  Tonight. Violet extracts revenge and teaches Hayley who the ‘boss’ around here really is.

Also backstage is Hayley Hailstone and her manager Matt Preacher.  Preacher says he’s tried everything but the rules state he cannot be at ringside for Hayley in the match tonight.  Hayley says it doesn’t matter as only one of them will have their hand raised in victory.  Hayley says that Violet thinks she’s the “boss” but she is truly mistaken.  The only BOSS around her is Double H Hayley Hailstone.

Next up on the card is The King Lucas Johnston vs TNT.  TNT makes his way out first and is booed heavily.  He flips the fans off not carrying about who he offends.  Once in the ring, ‘Pomp and Circumstance’ plays and out comes King Lucas Johnston carried out on his throne.  The reception for the King of HCW wasn’t all that impressive.  In fact, it looked like a lot of people were up and doing a concession stand/bathroom run during this match.  The reception the King got was not ‘red hot’ like his moniker states but ‘lukewarm’.  He stepped off the throne and into the ring.  TNT was ready for him and attacked him before he could get his robe off.  TNT viciously eye raked Lucas and hit a dropkick.  Lucas then came back with a dropkick of his own but that didn’t do anything to get the fans behind him.  The King executes a backslide, a missile dropkick and a rear chinlock before going for the pin.  TNT kicked out at two.  The fans now seemed really disinterested in the match.  TNT then press lifted and slammed Lucas to the mat.  He followed it up with the Townsend Driver twice.  Lucas hit a very weak DDT but TNT planted him hard in the middle of the ring with a powerbomb.  TNT went for the pin and got the 3 count.  The fans were a little shocked but didn’t seem to care.  They booed TNT as he had his hand raised in victory but when Lucas left the ring, the fans paid little attention to him.  Uh Oh, that could spell doom for him.  (10 min)

We head backstage again and are with the Flannelnana’s.  Jack Lumber and the Masked Banana are excited about their match tonight.  Jack says that all it takes is one Axe or a Banana Split and the titles will be theirs.  MB is overjoyed.  “Gee Golly…Jack, we’re getting a shot at the top tag belts in the business.  I know that you are already great and are an un-crowned champion but I will be striving for Grape-ness.  That is my lot in life to dress up, not as a banana, but a giant purple grape.”  Jack looks at him.  “First things first, our title match and once we win, you can be whatever color and type of fruit you want to be.”  The two shake hands and then leave.

Our grudge match is up next.  First, Hayley Hailstone makes her way out to massive booing from the crowd.  She soaks it in filling her with the power she feels she needs to defeat Violet.  She gets in the ring and mocks the fans getting them more riled up.  The music then changes and the stage fills with smoke.  Violet then comes shooting through it on her zipline as pyro goes off around her.  She slows down as she gets to the ring and begins her descent into the ring.  Before she can reach the mat, Hayley hits the ropes and nails Violet with a spear.  Violet crashes into the corner turnbuckles.  Hayley yells for the match to start.  The bell rings.  Instead of seeing Violet curled in broken ball, all Hayley saw was a 6’ tall very pissed off soccer mom.  Violet then opened the largest can of whoop-ass we’ve ever seen.  Violet destroyed Hayley for an astonishing 30 minutes.   Violet tried to finish Hayley off by hitting a baseball slide but Hayley moved and Violet crashed into the steel post.  After that, Hayley then took over and began owning Violet during the match.  We join the match now at the 50 minute mark.

Hayley cheated her way to a win and was joined in the ring by her manager Matt Preacher.  The duo stood tall and gloated that they outsmarted Violet.  Just when they thought it was safe to turn around, there was Violet standing with a steel chair.  She hits Preacher in the gut with it and smashes it across Hayley’s back. Hayley tumbles out of the ring.  Violet grabs Preacher by the hair pulling him to his feet. She then locks Preacher in the Triangle Choke.  Preacher taps out but Violet doesn’t let up.  Finally, Hayley grabbed Preacher by the leg and pulled him out of the ring to safety.  She then helped her manager to the back.  Violet stood tall in the ring and glared at Hayley.  This is not over between these two…not by a long shot.  Violet exited through the crowd much to the joy of the fans.  (Final score was Violet 414 to Hayley’s 255)

We head to the back and we’re now with the World Tag Team Champions the Steel Curtain.  Buzz says that he purposely went out early in the battle royal as he wanted to make sure he was at 100% but says Starbuck didn’t leave as early.  Starbuck says that he tried but his opponents kept falling out of the ring over the top rope.  “Regardless, tonight, we put our titles on the line against the newest tag team the Flannelnana’s.  They may not have a lot of experience as a team like we do but hey, they deserve a shot.”  Buzz nods and adds “Boys, there is a saying that you best watch what you wish for as you may get it.  Well, you’re getting a match with the #1 tag team in HCW and you’ll witness first-hand how it’s done.  Tonight, we take you to school.  Either you graduate or you get held back another year.  Good luck as you will need it.”  Starbuck leans in and says “Word”.

It’s time for our main event.  First, the Flannelnana’s come out to a surprisingly loud pop from the fans.  The camera pans to the Lumber Lounge and the Banana Boat; the respective fan bases for Lumber and the Masked Banana.  The fans cheer as they make their way down to the ring.  They shake hands with the fans and enter the ring.  They each climb a turnbuckle and hold both arms high in the air.  The crowd is pumped.  Next, the music changes and the Steel Curtain comes out.  Pyro goes off as Buzz and Starbuck make their way out to the loudest pop of the night.  They head down to the ring shaking hands with a few fans.  They get in the ring, shoot glances over at their challengers and climb the turnbuckles.  They hold their titles over their heads and the fans respond loudly.  They step down and hand the belts to the ref.  Both teams then shake hands and then go to their respective corners waiting for the match to begin.

The Steel Curtain get the win and retain the title much to the delight of the fans.  As the champs were handed their titles, they pointed to the Flannelnanas who also got a pop from the crowd.  The 4 men shook hands and the crowd exploded. 

The show comes to an end with all 4 men standing in the ring with their arms raised.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #816 – Tacoma Thunder (12/08) - Go Home Show

Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.  Today in Tacoma, we have our “Go Home” show which is the last house show before our 3 day PPV “Zero Hour” taking place Friday, Saturday, and Sunday this weekend.

The show begins with a video package.  It starts in front of the same door where we were first introduced to "Mean" Jack Mason. Inside the room, pictures of Maximilian Redbeard and Superquake Ferguson are tacked to the wall. Each picture has a red X on it in marker. "Mean" Jack Mason is sitting on the floor, rocking back and forth. His hands over his ears. He's gritting his teeth, looking as if he's in physical pain. The voice of an old woman tormenting him.


You're such a failure. You always have been…

Shut up!

You couldn't even hold on to a title. One you shared with someone else.

Shut up! Get out of my head!

Now you're a joke. They're all laughing at you…

Mean Jack stops rocking, takes his hands away from his ears. It's as if everything's fine. He looks over toward the camera.

Mean Jack: Not for much longer…


MADMAN MASON RETURNS SOON

Looks like the ‘Madman’ will be back in HCW before we know it.

Pyro goes off and GM Max McGillicutty comes out.  He says that he and Master Bull have begun conversations on how to handle things going into 2020.  At this time, there is nothing they can disclose but Tacoma will continue to be the flagship show for HCW.  The fans will continue to get the best wrestling action anywhere on the planet.  The fans pop.  Max then states that tonight, they will have a great lead up into the PPV so let’s get right to the action.

The music hits and out comes the Banker with his manager Ruth Heartless.  They are booed as they head down to the ring.  The Banker gets on the mic and says that he will do whatever is necessary to once again wear gold.  The music changes and out comes the TV Champion Scooter J.  The fans boo him even harder than they did the Banker.  Scooter J gets in the ring and says that he and the Banker have come to an agreement and money talks where everything else walks.  The Banker produces a large envelope of cash.  Scooter J laughs.  He says that they have to make the match official so he tells the ref to ring the bell.  As soon as it sounds, Dr. Red Fang rushes in from the crowd and the Banker sees him and steps away.  Fang then hits Scooter J with the Vampire Lunge and follows it up with a Transylvania Piledriver.  Fang then leaves cackling.  The Banker looks around, stunned but then goes to make to cover and gets the 3 count.  The Banker has just become the NEW TV Champion.  The Banker checks in on Scooter J, slides the envelope of cash over to him and then leaves.  Scooter J gets up pissed.  He grabs his money and storms to the back.

The World Tag Team Champions the Steel Curtain meet up with the Flannelnana’s (Jack Lumber and the Masked Banana) and offer them a shot at the belts at the PPV.  Jack and the Masked Banana are elated.  MB exclaims “You are the greatest.  You should join our fan clubs!” Starbuck says “You guys are funny but the match is going to be serious so you need to bring your A-games.”  Jack smiles and says “No worries there.”  Buzz says “Just be prepared is all we can offer as a suggestion.  This is going to be the biggest event so far in your careers.  Let’s all make the best of it.”  All four men lean in and exclaim “WORD”.

Next up, we have Tempest Fortune who makes her way out.  She gets on the mic and says that her last match against Maxine should have seen a new champion but Catalina can’t seem to wait so she is calling her down to the ring now.  Catalina Harper comes out smirking.  She has a mic of her own.  She says that Tempest can’t stop crying about losing.  Tonight will be no different as she will beat Tempest and continue her winning ways.  She saunters down to the ring and enters.  We have ourselves a match.  For the first six minutes of the match, both women were practically even.  At the seven minute mark, Catalina hit the Sabertooth tackle and that turned the tide in Catalina’s favor.  She then locked Tempest in the Catlina Crab but instead of going for a submission, she surprisingly went for a pin but only got a 1 count.   Tempest battles back hitting a power full nelson.   Tempest hits a second power full nelson but then Catalina hits the Cat’s Meow out of nowhere.  She makes the cover hooking the leg (and some of the tights) and got the 1-2-3.  Catalina gets the win right before her PPV match.  The fans boo but she doesn’t care.  Just then, the Ladies Champion Maxine DeVito hits the ring knocking Catalina down but she is back up on her feet just as fast and the two brawl until a gaggle of refs came out to separate the two.  Catalina gets in one last shot before leaving the ring.  Maxine struggled to get free but everyone held her back.  Catalina laughed at her as she made her way to the back.  (10 min for the match; 5 for the aftermath).

We rush backstage as another confrontation is happening.  Hayley Hailstone and Violet Valkyrie are battling all over the back.  They took turns throwing food from catering at each other.  The two were finally separated after both were covered in splotches of turkey, mashed potatos and gravy.  Both were still steaming.

Tommy Lightning comes out like a bullet and gets in the ring.  He says that he keeps getting overlooked for title after title.  He wants the Anytime/Anywhere Champion Shawn ‘Abs of Stone’ Austin in the ring now.  Austin comes out to more boos from the crowd.  “What do you want chump nugget?”  “I want my title shot so get yer ass in the ring flabby” Tommy exclaims.  Austin takes offense and rushes down to the ring.  The bell rings and these two go fighting all over the ring.  The match goes 26 minutes until Austin whipped Tommy into the corner and followed it up with a punch.  Austin goes for the pin and puts his feet on the ropes for leverage and gets the 3 count.  Shawn Austin grabs his title and rushes off to avoid anyone else coming out to challenge for his title.  As he gets to the stage, Biceps Bannerman comes out and motions that he

Davis Hoffmeister comes out to a loud pop from the crowd.  He says that he’s working on assembling a team to take on the 5^th Column this weekend but he is interrupted by Baron von Blood.  Baron says that Davis has no friends and is weak.  Davis says that if Baron wants to see how weak he is, then he can come down to the ring.  Baron obliges.  We have ourselves another match.  The match was pretty even although Baron’s teammates Karl Braun and Oswald Zimmerman came out.  Davis didn’t let that distract him and kept the pace up.  Baron then distracted the ref allowing Karl and Oswald to hit Davis with a Doomsday device.  They exit the ring and then Baron hits the Blitzkrieg Stunner.  He goes for the pin and gets the 3 count.  Baron grabs a mic and says that Davis like all filthy Americans is weak and the Column will destroy anyone who gets in their way.  The Column pose in the ring before heading to the back.  Davis is able to make it up and to the back on his own.  (15 min)

We immediately begin with our next match and Niven and Tobias Snake come out to kick things off.  They are booed and the Pit flips the fans off. Next, Drew the Canadian Love Machine comes out.  He says that his is almost there in getting a team together for their PPV match.  Drew introduces his tag team partner tonight and out comes ‘the King of Cones’ Magnum Kone.  Niven motions for them to get into the ring and Drew and Magnum oblige.  A fight begins as soon as the bell rings and the two battle for an astonishing 30 minutes. The teams were even for the entirety of the match and the fans were on the edges of their seats for almost the entire thing.  After the bell rang bringing this one to a draw finish, Leiton Snake rushes in from the crowd and attacks Drew and Magnum.  Leiton hits both Drew and Magnum with the Curb Stomp and he helps his teammates to their feet.  The Snake Pit all do a fist bump and stand tall in the ring before leaving.  (30 min draw).

GM Max McGillicutty comes out once again but before he can get a word out, the World Champion the Wicked Prophet comes out.  Fans begin a “Wicket” chant and that gets under the skin of the World Champion.  WP gets on a mic and says that they are days away from the PPV and he still doesn’t have an opponent.  WP tells Max that he’s not going to wait for them to pick some nobody at random so he says he is issuing an open challenge.  The first person who walks through the curtains gets the shot at the PPV.  It seemed that Prophet had something up his sleeve thinking it was going to be a set up (in the champs’ favor) but when no one emerged, Prophet started to get worried.  He then flipped out when Texas Wildfire came out to the loudest pop of the night.  TW gets on the mic and says that whomever Prophet was waiting for is now indisposed.  At the PPV, Prophet gets him.  The fans explode.  Prophet tries to back out of it but Max makes it official.  The show comes to an end with Prophet yelling at TW who is standing on the stage.  Stay tuned as our PPV is up next.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #815 – Phoenix Heat (12/04) – Go Home Show

Hello fans and welcome back to the HCW Wrestling Newsletter – Phoenix Heat edition.  Tonight’s show is the “go home” or final show before the PPV next week.  There is a lot to cover so let’s get right to the action.

We immediately cut to TV Champion Scooter J and TNT are watching a video and can’t stop laughing.

A jetliner is flying at night.  Inside, we see 2 stewardesses with a sick male passenger.   "He is getting worse" says one stewardess. "I'll see if we have a doctor on board" comments the other and then she leaves the room.  The first stewardess approaches the man when the other stewardess returns.  Following her is handsome young Dr. R (Reginald) Fang. The stewardess looks up from the patient.  "This man is fading. Is there anything you can do?" Dr. Fang looks thoughtfully and then drops an elbow. He quickly hooks the leg.

We cut to the shot of the plane and hear the stewardess deliver a 3 count.

TNT and Scooter J begin laughing hysterically.  The real Dr. Red Fang walks in and he immediately begins brawling with Scooter J after shoving TNT to the floor.  A bunch of backstage hands rush over to break it up. Things are really starting to get tense between the two.

Pyro goes off and GM Master Bull makes his way out.  He says that tonight, a new US Champion is crowned.  The Hardcore title held by Dr. Red Fang will also be on the line tonight.  He says that at the end of the show, he will make a world-shattering announcement but for now, he will leave it at that and get this show moving.

The bell sounds and our first match is ready to go.  We are at the finals to crown a new US Champion.  First, Snake Pit member Leiton Snake comes out first accompanied by his Pit brothers Tobias and Niven Snake.  The three do a fist bump on the stage and Leiton heads down to the ring to a small pop from the crowd.  After a brief moment, the music changes and out comes 5^th Column member Baron von Blood accompanied by his teammates Oswald Zimmerman and Karl Braun.  Blood heads down to the ring.  Blood taunts Leiton who immediate hits a Pedigree Facebuster as soon as the bell rings.  He went for a pin but only got a two count.  From there, Leiton mostly controlled the pace of the match which had many near falls and quite a few high spots.  The match went on for an astounding 42 minutes with no countouts or disqualifications allowed.  The longer it went on, the better Leiton seemed to get.  Finally, he motioned one final time and hit Baron with the Pedigree Facebuster.  He made the cover and got the 1-2-3.  Leiton Snake gets the win and becomes the NEW US CHAMPION.  Leiton is quick to get on the mic and says that after outlasting everyone on the combined roster, he is the last man standing.  He says that even though he just wrestled 42 minutes, he feels he could keep going.  He says that the first person who comes from behind the curtain will get the first shot a the US title.  The music changed and fans were shocked when we heard “APOLLO GYZE DON’T APOLOGIZE” and out comes Apollo.  The fans boo the crap out of him but he doesn’t seem to care.  He makes his way to the ring and yells at Leiton that he accepts.  It looks like Leiton has his first title defense.

Apollo Gyze wins with a SPIN-OUT POWERBOMB over Leiton Snake!!!

After a 42 minute brawl vs Baron, Leiton falls to a powerbomb 6 minutes later from Apollo and loses the US title.  Apollo Gyze has just become the NEW US CHAMPION!  The fans boo the crap out of him.  He walks back to the stage holding the US title over his head.  He smirks and then heads behind the curtain.

Backstage, Davis ‘the Hoff’ Hoffmeister issues a challenge to the 5^th Column.  He promises to find two teammates to join him for a PPV match.

The Anytime/Anywhere Champion Jack Lumber is walking in from the back and he is blindsided by Shawn ‘Abs of Stone’ Austin.  Austin has a ref with him.  He throws Jack into a wall knocking him silly and then locks in a sleeper hold.  Jack fades fast and the ref calls the match as a submission and hands the AA title to Abs.  Shawn jumps for joy and then runs off with the title in hand.  The Masked Banana runs over but is too late.  He helps Jack to his feet and they leave.

We cut back to the ring for our next match.  First, Betsy Cummings comes out first to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Once in the ring, the music changes and out comes Catalina Harper.  The fans boo her heavily.  She saunters down to the ring and enters.   Betsy dominates the first few minutes of the match but after Catalina hit the Cat’s Meow at the 4 minute mark, the match and tide turned her way.  She continued to dominate for another 8 minutes until she hit Betsy with a Cat-astrophic blow.  She made the cover and got the 3 count.  Her arm is raised in victory but she has little time to gloat as Ladies Champion Sassy Maxine DeVito hits her from behind knocking her to the mat.  She then hit Catalina with the Sass attack.  She stood over Catalina and held her title high before mockingly blowing her nose on Catalina.  She then walked off.  After a moment, Catalina got to her feet and was steaming. 

With her win tonight, Catalina is the #1 ranked woman in HCW.  She is ready for her title match next week.

Scooter J is with TNT and he acknowledges that tonight, he has to wrestle in Tacoma putting the TV title on the line.  He doesn’t like the fact that he has to defend the title and then will have to do so again at the PPV.  TNT says he has SJ’s back but first, they have some more business to attend to.

We cut back to the ring where we are ready for the next match which is a Falls Count Anywhere.  First, El Chango comes out to a nice pop from the crowd.  He makes his way down into the ring and shakes hands with the fans.   Next, the music changes and out comes the Banker and his manager Ruth Heartless.  Just as the duo were making their way to the ring, GM Master Bull comes out.  He says that Ruth will not be allowed to be at ringside for this match and orders her to the back.  He moves the mic away from his mouth and tells her “I know what you did”.  She smirks at him and walks to the back.  The Banker heads to the ring.  He gets in the ring and shoots Master Bull a disgruntled look. The bell rings and he turns around only for El Chango to lock him up in the Muta Lock.  He makes it to the ropes and jawjacks with the ref.  El Chango knocks him out of the ring.  The Banker pretends he was injured.  El Chango went and grabbed an empty chair from ringside.  He smashes the Banker over the head with it knocking him out.  The Banker is bleeding.  El Chango makes the cover and gets the 3 count.  El Chango dominated in this very short 2 minute match.  The fans pop huge for him.  El Chango picks up the chair again but drops it without further incident.  The Banker had to be helped to the back.

We cut back to the office of GM Master Bull and he doesn’t appear to be in a good mood at all.  The Snake Pit then walk (barge) into his office and demand that Drew be suspended for costing Leiton the US title.  Bull says that Drew never approached the ring so he never interfered.  Drew the Canadian Love Machine then walked in and the Pit demanded a match against him.  Drew told Master Bull that if he makes the match happen at the PPV, he will find two men to team with him.  Bull says the match is officially on the card.  Drew leaves.  When the Pit doesn’t immediately leave, Bull throws them out of his office.

It is time for our main event. First, Outback Oscar comes out to a nice pop from the crowd.  He makes his way down and into the ring.  Next, the loudspeakers blare “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYBODY” and out comes the Hardcore Champion with his manager the Ambassador.  They head to the ring but the Ambassador mouths that they are not done with Scooter J and TNT.  Fang gets in the ring and snarls and growls at Oscar.  Oscar is not intimidated.  The ref announces the match will be Boot Camp rules.  The bell rings and this one begins.  The match was pretty even for the first 3 minutes of the match but then Scooter J and TNT came out to start causing a distraction.  Fang hit some good moves but couldn’t go for the pin due to distractions from outside the ring.  Just then, the Ambassador came out but TNT cut him off and dragged him to the stage where he could only look on.  Oscar throws Fang out of the ring and Scooter J grabs a loaded combat boot and smashes Fang in the head with it.  Oscar throws a cautionary glace at Scooter J and then hits back to back swinging neckbreakers.  He makes the cover hooking the leg and gets the 3 count.  Outback Oscar has just defeated Dr. Red Fang to become the NEW HARDCORE CHAMPION!  Scooter J grabs Fang and throws him repeatedly into the steel post.  Fang is busted open.  Scooter J wipes Fangs blood on his chest like a badge of honor.  SJ really is a sick man.   Fang is helped to the back and Scooter J and TNT leave.

Just as the show is coming to an end, GM Master Bull comes back out.  First, he thanks the fans for attending and then says he has an announcement to make.  Master Bull announces that due to mismanagement by Ruth Heartless, the Phoenix brand is now without a home.  She did not renew the contract for their location and after 3 attempts to reconcile, their venue has now been given to someone else.  Tonight is the last ever Phoenix Heat show.  Bull says he will meet with GM Max McGillicutty and the owners over the Christmas break to see what will be happening moving forward.

Bull leaves the stage and the fans are stunned.  Stay tuned to see what happens next.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #814 – Tacoma Thunder (12/01)

Hello fans and welcome back to another episode of HCW’s Wrestling newsletter.  Tonight, we recap the semifinals for the US title tournament. 

The show begins back in a courtroom.  Judge Leigh Morgan is once again presiding over an event involving an HCW superstar.  Violet Valkyrie is there pleading her case.  Once the Judge finished hearing the details, she immediately dismissed the case citing that if Ms. Hailstone really wanted to proceed with this sham, she should have at least shown up.  After dismissing the case, Judge Morgan told Violet “Go kick some ass”.  Violet smiled and left the courtroom.

Pyro goes off and our show begins with the smeifinals for the tournament.

Leiton Snake defeats Ovaltine Jackson to advance

Baron von Blood gets Maximillian Redbeard to submit to the brain claw to advance.

After that was all over, Tempest Fortune makes her way out to the ring.  She says she’s waited patiently long enough and calls out Ladies Champion Maxine DeVito.  Maxine comes out to booing.  Tempest says she wants her title match tonight.  Maxine tries to blow her off but GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says that it’s a great idea and makes it the main event for tonight.  Maxine storms off.  Tempest interacts with the fans briefly before heading to the back.

Pyro goes off and we have our first match of the night.   First, Perfect Pecs Stoddard and Shawn ‘Abs of Stone’ Austin come out to major booing from the fans.  Once in the ring, things picked up dramatically when the Flannelnanas came out.  Jack Lumber, the Anytime/Anywhere champion and the Masked Banana come out and their respective fan clubs pop huge for them.  They head to the ring and enter.  Pecs and Austin didn’t care for the reaction the Flannelnanas got so they attacked Jack and MB.  Jack and the Masked Banana successfully fought their opponents off and took control of the match but Pecs and Abs were right there with them.  Both teams attempted pin or submission attempts but each team had a savior to keep the battle going.  As we entered the 19^th minute of the match, Austin tried to stomp Lumber in the corner but Jack managed to reverse it and planted Abs with a Yukon bodyslam in the middle of the ring.  Pecs tried to come in for the save but the Masked Banana hit him with a clothesline and both went tumbling over the top rope.  Lumber hooked the leg for good measure and got the 1-2-3.  The Flannelnana’s are victorious in their match tonight.  The fans pop as Lumber helps MB back into the ring.  The two celebrate briefly before leaving.  (19 min)

A video plays on the jumbotron.  SJ and TNT wearing doctor’s jackets with the local hospitals name along with their own names. "You know us as wrestlers." SJ starts with, then TNT chimes in. "But we're also doctors." SJ again "just like Dr. Red Fang." They laugh as it ends.

As soon as it ends, a second video airs.

The scene opens in a doctor's office.  We see a handsome young doctor and early 30s female.  Bad soap opera music plays.  "But doctor, " she pleads, "I still have this horrible affliction."  A close up on the doctor reveals that his lab coat reads, Dr. R. Fang. "Mary, there is one thing left. It is radical and untested. " He rises and looks at Mary.  Mary says "I don't care anymore.  Do what you must."  "Vampire Lunges for everyone!" the doctor yells and hits her with it.  Chaos ensues followed by mocking laughter.

Next up we have a non-title match.  First, Ghee Buttersnaps comes out to a small pop from the crowd.  Once in the ring, the loudspeakers blares “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE…Especially Scooter J.”  Fang and his manager the Ambassador comes out and both are fuming from the mocking videos that just aired.  They storm down to the ring and Fang immediately takes his frustrations out on Ghee.  Ghee actually fought back and kept the match pretty close the entire match but the Ambassador distracted Ghee when he was trying to go for the Ghee hee hee and then Fang hit him with a Vampire Lunge.  Fang went for the cover and hooked the leg (and maybe some tights) and got the 3 count.  Dr. Red Fang gets the win.  The Ambassador gets on the mic and yells at Scooter J for the disrespecting videos that aired.  The Ambassador warns Scooter J not to get involved in their business or shit will get real.

Backstage, Ladies Champion ‘Sassy’ Maxine DeVito says that she can’t believe the GM bullied her into this match.  She says that she should sue for harassment but know that the owners would just side with Max.  Regardless, she’ll defend her title and will defeat Tempest with ease.

It is time for our main event.  First, Tempest Fortune comes out to a pop from the crowd.  She interacts with the fans as she makes her way down to the ring.  She gets into the ring and continues to psyche up the crowd.  Next, the music changes and out comes the Ladies Champion Sassy Maxine DeVito.  The fans boo her as she holds her title and walks down to the ring.  She gets up on the ring apron and turns to the fans and flips them off which only gets them more riled up.  She climbs to the second turnbuckle and pumps her fist into the air and holds her title in the other.  She hops down and then meets Tempest in the middle of the ring.  She jawjacks with her challenger for a few moments before handing her title to the ref and this one begins.  Tempest actually controlled the early pace of the match but after of taking 8 minutes of abuse, Maxine turned up the heat.

Maxine gets the win and retains her title.  The fans boo heavily but Maxine doesn’t care.  She flaunts her title in Tempest’s face and then turns and mocks the fans.  Just then, Catalina Harper hits the ring and drops Maxine with the Cat’s Meow.  She smiles standing over Maxine and picks up the title.  She drapes it over her shoulder and then poses for the crowd who boo her also.  She drops the belt on Maxine and stares at her as the show comes to an end.

Up next is our go-home show for Phoenix so stay tuned.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #813 – Phoenix Heat (11/27)

Hello fans and welcome back to the action that is the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.  Tonight in Phoenix, AZ, we host the quarter finals for crowning a new US Champion after the belt was vacated by (the now) World Champion the Wicked Prophet. 

The show begins with former Ladies Champion Hayley Hailstone making her way to the ring to a chorus of boos from the crowd.  She gets on the mic and begins to run down Phoenix calling them a cesspit (that got them riled up) and said that Violet belonged her as she was trash also.  Just then, in from the crowd came Violet Valkyrie.  Hayley tried to get away but Violet was the aggressor and went right after her.  After a trio of refs came out to break it up, the Ambassador came out with a squad of police.  Hayley then demanded that the police arrest Violet for the unprovoked attack she just endured.  She told the Phoenix officers that if they didn’t arrest Violet now, she would sue them for negligence.  The police finally relented and handcuffed Violet taking her away.  Hayley laughed from the ring until she got tired of the fans booing her and then she left.

We then cut backstage to see the Masked Banana.  MB was reading the lineup for tonight and visibly gulped when he saw he has to go up against Maximillian Redbeard tonight.   The Anytime/Anywhere champion Jack Lumber shows up and says he’ll be cheering for MB tonight.  The Masked Banana thanks him.

Pyro goes off and out quarter finals begin.

It was a tough break for Masked Banana to make it this far only to lose to the 6’2 Redbeard.  He did have a really good showing and that will service him well in to the future.

We go back to the ring and the Banker and his manager Ruth Heartless come out to booing from the crowd.  The Banker gets on the mic and calls out El Chango saying that there was no way someone like “him” could defeat someone like the Banker.  The Banker challenges El Chango to a Falls Count Anywhere match.  El Chango comes out and says he accepts.   The Banker removes his jacket and beckons for El Chango to come down to the ring.  Just as El Chango enters the ring, Ruth sneaks up behind him and cold cocks him with the Banker’s briefcase.  The Banker then pulls the unconscious form of El Chango into the ring and yells at the timekeeper to ring the bell.  He refuses so Ruth goes over and takes it from him and does it herself.  The Banker then makes the cover and hooks the leg and the ref reluctantly counts 1…2…3.  The Banker gets the “win” and stands up gloating.  He takes the mic.  “This is how it’s done.”  He brushes his hands off and then says “Let’s do this again…in a week when you’re standing on your own two feet.”  He drops the mic and laughs as he walks away.

Drew the Canadian Love Machine is backstage.  He says that Scooter J stooped to new lows by having TNT attack him.  Drew calls TNT a lackey and nothing more than talent enhancement.  Drew says that once he gets the TV title back from Scooter J, he’s coming after TNT.

The next match begins and the fans explode as Drew’s music hits.  The Canadian Love Machine makes his way out and has a look of determination on his face.  He interacts with a few fans but then gets into the ring.  The TV Champ’s music hits and out comes Scooter J accompanied by TNT.  Once they got to the ring, the ref tried to send TNT to the back but he produced a “manager’s license”.  TNT said he manages Scooter J when he’s not an active competitor.  The bell rang quickly and this one was off. Scooter J got control early due to interference from TNT but then Drew just took over and controlled the match for almost a solid 15 minutes.  At the 20 minute mark, Drew hit Scooter J with the Lover Bomb and almost got the win but TNT managed to get Scooter J’s leg on the bottom rope at the last second.  Drew yells at TNT and turns around into a superkick from SJ.   He goes for the pin but Drew kicks out right away.  SJ then chokes Drew on the top rope.  SJ pushes Drew into the corner and deliveres the 10 punches.  He goes for the pin but Drew kicks out at 2.  SJ distracts the ref while TNT hits Drew with a chair.  Scooter J then suplexes Drew hard.  He goes for the pin and while the ref is counting, TNT holds Drew’s leg down for the 3 count.  Scooter J gets the win and retains his title.  The ref holds his arm up and hands him back the title and he bails out of the ring.  SJ and TNT then make their way up the ramp laughing. (24 min)

Backstage, the Six Man Tag Team Champions led by Wilber Townsend are awaiting their match.  Wilber says that they are united and will be successful in the defense of these belts.  Wilber’s power to control is absolute and nothing will stop them.  The trio then head to the ring.

Also backstage, TNT and the TV Champion Scooter J are laughing about what transpired in the ring.  The Hardcore Champion Dr. Red Fang walks by and SJ snorts “Doctor, eh?  I bet he doesn’t even have an associate’s degree.”  The two laugh.

It’s time for our main event.  First, the Muscles Trio comes out wearing their rainbow colored bull horns and carrying their boxes of Booty O’s cereal.  They clown around on the stage and then head to the ring to a nice pop from the crowd.  Once in the ring, the music changes and the lights go dim.  3 single lanterns light the way and the champs head down to the ring.  The champs are wearing their creepy Pennywise clown masks but they look like they’ve been burnt making them even creepier than before.  The enter the ring and the lights slowly come up.  The bell rings and the champs immediately attack the Muscles.  It takes the ref a moment to restore order and then the match begins.  The match was a true slobberknocker   Both teams brought their A Game but it was the champs who suffered the first setback.  14 minutes in, Anthony went for a high risk move and got knocked off the top turnbuckle and he fell to the floor hard.  5 minutes later, he seemed to be back on his feet and once again joined the match.  The match remained practically even for the final minutes of the match.

The bell rings bringing this one to a draw finish.  The Muscles Trio rolled out of the ring and there appeared to be something going on between Wilber and Anthony.  Leon eventually stepped in and after having words with both men, they nodded and each man held their title high as the fans booed and the show comes to an end.
