Hello fans and
welcome back as HCW presents another episode of Phoenix Heat. In an effort to mix things up and get out of
the oven that is Phoenix, AZ, GM Master Bull decided to take the show on the
road but didn’t go far. In fact, he went
out east to Mesa, AZ but the weather wasn’t that much cooler out there
anyway. We have a solid card for you
today with not just one but two title matches.
We also have two people challenging to move up in the top 10
rankings.
Pyro goes off and
our first match is ready to go. First,
Otto Ruthless makes his way out and the fans boo him as he makes his way to the
ring. Once there, the music changed and
out comes Tommy Lightning. Tommy gets a
pop from the crowd as he makes his way to the ring. Otto doesn’t much care for that so he attacks
Tommy upon entering the squared circle.
Tommy actually had control of the match until the 4th minute
when a very disgruntled Apollo Gyze made his way out. The distraction led us to the 5th
minute:

bottom rope but Apollo knocks his hand off.

Apollo causes
Tommy to lose and the match is awarded to Otto Ruthless via submission. (5 min)
Otto leaves the ring and Apollo jumps in and starts putting the boots to
Tommy eventually kicking him out of the ring.
Apollo gets on the mic and says that HCW needs to apologize to him for
putting this crappy match on instead of him.
This brings out GM Master Bull.
Bull has a mic of his own and tells Apollo that HE needs to apologize
for sticking his nose into Bull’s show.
Apollo, almost on cue, says “Apollo Gyze don’t apologize fool” and Bull
smiles and states that even after only two appearances, he’s already tired of
him says that Apollo is going to be suspended for a week to give him time to
contemplate his attitude. Apollo gets
all angry and starts kicking the ropes but realizes it’s futile and ends up
leaving. (Editor’s note: I can’t recall, in the last 15 years of
writing these that anyone was suspended a week after their debut. I guess Apollo really is a trendsetter.)
Backstage, the
Banker is with his manager Ruth Heartless and he says that Regulation is weak
and he’s going to draft new legislation.
Tonight though, he is challenging Travis Ryzing for his spot in the top
10 lineup and once he defeats him, singles gold will be waiting for him.
We head back to the
ring for our next match. First, Scarlett
Phoenix comes out to a pop from the crowd.
She gets into the ring and climbs the turnbuckles getting the crowd
psyched up for this match. Next,
Lavender Gooms makes her way out and she will be defending her spot on the
Ladies top 10 line up. Scarlett needs
this win in order to be within an arm’s length of the Ladies title. The match began almost immediately and after
a few minutes, Scarlett took over and owned the whole match. Scarlett went for
numerous pin attempts only to have Lavender kick out of each one. Just as we entered the final two minutes of
the match, the Duchess made her way down to the ring but kept walking and sat
down at commentary. Lavender hit
Scarlett with a sliding kick to the floor but Scarlett was back in and hit a
Frankensteiner. Scarlett picked her up
and hit a reverse DDT right in the middle of the ring. She made the cover and the ref counted
1…2…(the Duchess gets up, grabs the timekeepers bell and hammer and rings the
bell signaling an end to the match).
We’re not quite sure if time ran out or if it was the Duchess’ ringing
it early but the ref had no choice but to call the match a draw. Scarlett was disappointed and turned to leave
only to have the Duchess charge at her with the ringside bell and clobber her
with it (GONG). The Duchess dropped the
bell and stood over Scarlett laughing.
She eventually left. The ref
helped Scarlett to her feet and was a bit woozy but was able to make it to the
back on her own. The fans showed their
appreciation for her.
Before she could
make it behind the curtain, Master Bull came back out and told Scarlett that he
was officially announcing Scarlett Phoenix vs the Duchess at the PPV in an ECW
rules match. Scarlett seemed happy with
the decision and after stumbling a bit, accepted help to the back from the GM.
The Unknown
Assassin is backstage with his manager the Honorable JC Dykes. Dykes calls Fang a rabid beast and that the
Assassin will put him down like the dog he is.
Dykes says that as much as Fang wants to spout his catchphrases, he will
never hold a candle to the Unknown Assassin.
We are back at the
ring for our next match. This one is
another spot challenge match. First, the
Banker comes out with his manager Ruth Heartless and they are booed as they
head to the ring. The Banker tries a bit
of showboating but the fans boo him all the more. Next, defending his “spot” is Travis ‘Dark
Storm’ Ryzing. Travis come out to a
small pop from the crowd. He gets into
the ring and has just enough time to do some quick stretches and the match
begins. The Banker easily controlled the
match but things appeared to get a bit dicey when the Regulators (Mule and
Mammoth) made their way out. Mule began
to chase Ruth around the ring driving her to the back. In the ring, the Banker dropped Travis with a
deposit diving DDT but he didn’t go for the pin. The ref was distracted busy yelling at Mule
and Mammoth jumped up on the apron. The Banker
went for a swing but missed and Mammoth ended up pulling him right into the
ring post. Mammoth quickly jumped down
and he too got yelled at by the ref but Mule and Mammoth said they were
leaving. In the ring, Travis made it to
his feet and locked up the Banker with a Power Full Nelson. The Banker, injured from his collision with
the ring post, had no choice but to tap out.
Travis Ryzing gets the win via submission and retains his spot in the
top 10. Travis leaves to a pop from the
crowd and the frustrated Banker leaves shortly thereafter. (7 min)
We head backstage
where the Six Man Tag Team Champs – ‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger, Sonic Blade and
Texas Wildfire are cutting a promo.
Winger and Sonic discuss how they are going to take down the 5th
Column. Texas Wildfire interrupts them
and says that as the champs, they cannot dismiss any team and they have to hope
for the best but prepare for the worst. “Worst?”
Winger asks. “We are the best. We don’t hope…we execute.” Sonic adds in “The reason we are the champs
is because we ARE the best. We will defeat
any team that tries to take our gold.”
TW says “You’re both right. Long
live the champions!” They leave.
The action returns
as Muscles Thorpe comes out first wearing his rainbow colored bull horns and
has his box of Booty O’s cereal. He
gives the box of cereal to one lucky fan and leaves the bull horns on the
outside of the ring. He rolls under the
rope and starts to psyche up the crowd.
Next, the Honorable JC Dykes comes out and following him is the Unknown
Assassin. The fans boo the crap out of
him. They seem to relish in the venom
spit their way. The Unknown Assassin
gets in the ring and immediately attacks Thorpe. For 7 minutes, Thorpe was going toe to toe
with the Assassin but interference from Dykes turned the tide solely in UA’s
favor. Ten minutes in, UA tries to execute some
forearm shots to Thorpe’s eardrums but Thorpe reverses it and locks in an
abdominal stretch. Thorpe tries to
follow it up with some knee lifts but UA reverses those and connects with a
Fireman’s carry roll. He goes for the
pin but Thorpe kicks out at 2. Thorpe
locks in the abdominal stretch again but Dykes gets on the ring apron. Thorpe releases the hold and slugs Dykes who
crashes to the ground. Thorpe turns
around only to get blasted by an English Forearm strike. Unknown Assassin makes the cover and gets the
3 count. UA gets the win. He begins to celebrate but then realizes
Dykes is still out on the floor. He goes
over to check on him but with his back turned, Dr. Red Fang accompanied by Ant
Graham runs down (Graham’s not running though) and attacks the Unknown
Asssassin from behind. Fang hits a
Vampire Lunge and then follows it up with a Transylvania piledriver. Fang stands over UA growling and
snarling. Graham eventually joins him in
the ring and the two gloat for a few moments before leaving. (12 min for the match; 5 for the aftermath)
Master Bull is
back in his office and is reviewing more contracts. Bull says that he still has some evaluating
to do and picks up the phone and calls Tacoma GM Max McGillicutty. Bull gets up and escorts the camera man out
of his office and closes the door behind him.
Our first title
match is next on the card. First, the 5th
Column (Baron von Blood, Oswald Zimmerman and Karl Braun) make their way out
first to booing from the crowd. Next,
the 6 man champs come out to huge pops from the crowd. Winger, Sonic and Texas Wildfire head to the
ring as the fans pop huge for them. The
champs make their way down to the ring.
They enter the ring and each champ climbs a corner turnbuckle and hold
their titles high in one collective motion.
The Column did their best to hang with the champs but Winger, Sonic and
TW just had their numbers. The champs
used constant tags to keep each man fresh and that strategy is what kept them
at the top of their game. All three men
hit moves and went for a pin but the Column made the save each time. When we got to the 21st minute of
the match, Karl Braun had just released a stomach klaw hold on Winger during a
double team. Sonic remained in the ring
and as soon as Karl turned around, Sonic hit an atomic drop and immediately
went for a pin. He got the 3 count on
what seemed a fast count by the ref. The
champs didn’t seem to notice and stood in the ring holding their titles high as
the fans popped for them. They left and the Column eventually followed. (21 min)
We head backstage
for an interview with the reigning tag team champions the Mexicali Flyers. El Dragon says that they are proud to hold
the titles. Tornado en Fuego says that
they are going to be defending champions taking on all comers. El Dragon adds that tonight, they have their
first title defense since winning and say that luck and skill will be in their
corner tonight. Tornado looks at him and
says “Palabra”. The champs then head to
the ring.
It’s time for our
main event. First, the challengers 2
members of the Muscles Trio – Muscles Weasley and McGuire head to the ring and
get a small pop from the crowd. Next,
the champs come out and the fans pop HUGE as the Mexicali Flyers head to the
ring. They get into the ring and each climb
a turnbuckle holding their titles high.
They dismount and hand the belts to the ref. The match then begins. The Flyers dominated the match owning the
Muscles and went for multiple pin attempts but the other Muscle would make the
save. Both Muscles got tossed out of the
ring a few times but eventually made it back in in time. When the 22nd minute of the match
began, we were interrupted by Elitism making their way out and down to the
ring. Tornado throws Muscles McGuire out
of the ring and then watches what transpires.
Reid and Roderick Rothchild then attack Muscles McGuire briefly and then
go to sit at commentary. McGuire is not
able to make it back into the ring and is counted out. The Mexicali Flyers get the win via countout
and retain their titles. The show comes
to an end with Reid and Roderick standing staring at the champs.
