HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2018 #679 – Phoenix Heat

Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of HCW’s Phoenix Heat.  Today’s show kicks off GM Master Bull making his way to the stage.  Bull says that 4 of Phoenix’s finest will be meeting tonight with two winners going on fight to see who will become the interim World Champion.  Bull says he got an update on World Champion Buzz Steel. The doctors say Buzz is recovering nicely but he will not rush his return to the ring.  The fans will get to see Buzz back in the ring at the Meltdown PPV that will be taking place in Phoenix, AZ on 7/4.  Tonight, we will see Starbuck Steel take on Scooter J and ‘the Ragin Cajun’ King Rad Gumbo will take on Texas Wildfire and the two finalists will be back in a week to meet the final two from Tacoma Thunder.  Bull says the Tag Team titles are on the line tonight when the Desperados take on the challengers from the Snake Pit – Leiton and Niven Snake.  Also, tonight we will see the debut of a new team called the Machines.  And lastly, because of what transpired a week ago, El Gato Negro has demanded a match against Starr Vixen.  We don’t want to waste any time here so let’s get this one kicked off.

First, the 5th Column (Baron von Blood, Oswald Zimmerman & Karl Braun) come out and are booed as they make their way down to the ring.  Next, the Six Man Champions – The Banker and the Regulators – come out with their manager Ruth Heartless and they too are booed as they head to the ring.  The Column tried to attack the champs but they easily (with interference from Ruth) took the fight to the Column and pretty much dominated the match (160 to 84).   The end came after Regulator Mammoth caught Karl Braun with an inverted superplex and got the easy 1-2-3.  The Banker and the Regulators get the win.  Ruth joins them in the ring and they celebrate briefly before departing.  (17 min)

Backstage, Scooter J says that tonight he makes history as he goes on to destroy and dominate like only he can.  Tonight, SJ advances and once he’s dominated the rest of the roster, he will have his hand raised in victory as he is handed the Interim World Title.  He will then go on to beat that schmuck Buzz Steel and become the undisputed World Champion.  He laughs before walking off.

Also backstage is Starbuck Steel.  Starbuck says he knows what it means to be World Champion.  With Buzz out of action (for the moment), he gets another chance to shine and Scooter J will not stand in his way from getting the championship back.

We head to the ring for our next match.  First, Scooter J comes out and is booed but he doesn’t seem to care.  He flips off the fans from the ring.  He takes a mic “Now, before my match begins, I want all you fat, out of shape hogs to shut your pie holes and watch a true master in the ring.”  This elicited a pretty vicious reaction from the crowd and SJ just laughed.  Next, Starbuck Steel makes his way out high fives the fans as he heads to the ring to a loud pop.  He slides under the rope and goes nose to nose with SJ in the center of the ring.  Scooter J went on the offensive right away and for the first 7 minutes, he held the advantage but after getting hit with the Starplex from the top rope, things began to turn to Starbucks way.  Starbuck began beating Scooter J all over the ring and SJ began to get desperate.  He eye gouged Starbuck pretty bad but before he could do anything, World Champion Buzz Steel came out on stage.  The fans popped and Scooter J leaned over the rope jawjacking with Buzz.  Starbuck then reached up and rolled Scooter J up in a small package and (taking a page out of SJ’s handbook), he hooked the tights and got the 1-2-3.  Starbuck Steel gets the win and rolls out of the ring.  He meets his brother on stage and they collectively laugh at Scooter J.  Starbuck moves on in the tournament.  Scooter J tried to complain to the ref but he was mostly ignored.  Scooter J stormed to the back.  (15 min)

Backstage, King Rad Gumbo is with Queen Alexandria and he says that it’s time for him once again to add gold to his regal attire.  Tonight, he smothers the Wildfire and then goes on to the final four.  When asked what he thought his chances were to go all the way, Gumbo almost hit the announcer.  “Dis Cajun is going all da way.  Don’t you worry Mon Ami.  Dis Cajun will be champ again.”

It’s time for some tag team action.  First, the Ryzing Storm (Travis and Terra Ryzing) come out and they are booed as they head to the ring.  Next, the newest addition to the HCW roster the Machines come out to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  We learned that they are called the “B” and “P” Machines.   The Storm goes on the offensive with P Machine hurling Terra out of the ring on one side and B Machine hurling Travis out the other.  The Machines controlled the match for about the first 15 minutes but then the experience of the Ryzing Storm took over and they began to take over the match eventually.  To the Machines credit, they would not give up.  Finally, the bell rang bringing this one to a time limit draw.  The Machines had a solid outing.  Terra did try to attack P Machine after the match but he caught him and hit him with a move that was extremely similar to the Phat’s Enough that Phat Sol used to do.  Hang on a moment…could it be?...Nah.  (30 min draw)

Texas Wildfire is backstage and he says that Gumbo is full of Dungo.  He knows that he has a tough match ahead of himself but he knows that Wildfire will be runnin’ wild and he’s wondering what Dungo’s gonna do when “the ‘Fire runs wild on you”.

Texas Wildfire comes out first and the fans pop huge for him.  He high fives the fans as he makes his way to the ring.  His pop is cut short when we hear the always obnoxious “Gumbo 7:30 says it’s suppa time, bitch!” over the loudspeakers and out comes the Ragin Cajun King Rad Gumbo and Queen Alexandria.  The fans begin a “Dung-o” chant and the King is pissed.  Gumbo tries to cover his ears but the fans are just too loud.  Finally, he gives up and heads to the ring.  He attacks Wildfire and the two are trading punches before the bell even rings starting this one off.  The two were pretty evenly matched even with the Queen’s interference.  23 minutes into the match and Gumbo locked TW in the New Orleans Crab trying for a submission.  TW was in the hold for a good solid 30 seconds and clawed his way to the ropes and grabbed the bottom rope breaking the hold.  Gumbo got distracted by a few of the fans calling him “Dung-o” and he went out and confronted him.  While the ref was helping Wildfire up, one of the fans popped up and…hang on…it’s World Champion Buzz Steel and he catches Gumbo with a HUGE uppercut that probably loosened a few teeth.  Gumbo rolled back in the ring.  TW catches Gumbo with a snap powerslam and he ends up getting the 1-2-3.  Texas Wildfire gets the win and celebrates with the fans and then heads to the back.  Queen Alexandria helps Gumbo to his feet and helps him to the back.  Buzz smiles and high fives the fans around him and he too eventually leaves.

El Gato Negro is backstage and she says she has a bone to pick with Starr Vixen.  Vixen thinks she’s all that but she isn’t.  El Gato says that she is the upper echelon within HCW and she’ll prove it to Starr once and for all.

Also backstage are the challengers to the Tag Team Titles the Snake Pit.  Leiton and Niven Snake say that the Desperados have been dodging them ever since they “won” the titles but tonight that ends.  The Snake Pit will win the titles and then show the world how dominant of a team they truly are.

We go back to the ring for a rematch of sorts.  El Gato Negro comes out first and is booed.  She’s been beaten by Starr Vixen a couple of times now and she really wants to avenge those losses.  Next, Starr Vixen comes out and the fans pop for her.  She gets to the ring and El Gato makes like she’s going to attack her but doesn’t (the mind games begin).  The bell rings and this one is off.  This one took off like a rocket but was almost over as soon as it started.  Things began to get hot when Starr caught El Gato with a flying fivearm but El Gato took her to the mat with a feline facelock.  El Gato then hit the 9 Lives and she rolled up Starr (with her feet on the ropes the cheater) and got the 3 count.  Starr kicked out just a fraction of a second too late.  El Gato rolled out of the ring and backed up the ramp laughing and saying she outsmarted Starr Vixen.  I’m sure this one is not over.  (4 min)

World Tag Team Champions the Desperados (El Chango and Leon Teremoto) laugh at the insinuation that they were dodging the Snake Pit.  El Chango says “We are not the match makers; we don’t set up matches… That falls to our GM.  We’ve stated over and over that we will accept the challenge from any team at any time as long as it is made official.  It’s easy to hide behind other teams and then claim we’re ducking you but now our match is official and I can promise you that you’ll wish you stayed hidden behind the other teams.”  Leon looks at the camera and says “We beat the most elite team in HCW – Elitism…I think we can handle you.”  The champs then walked off camera.

It’s time for our main event.  The challengers the Snake Pit (Leiton and Niven Snake) come out first to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Next, the champs the Desperados come out and the fans pop for them.   Surprisingly it was the champs who started off as the aggressors double teaming the Pit for 3 minutes but would tag in and out quickly to avoid the wrath of the referee.  With that advantage, the champs kept control of the entire match and really became more one-sided as the match went on.   When the Pit tried to get the advantage by a double team, the champs joined them in the ring for a slobber knocker taking away any advantage the challengers may have been trying to get.  El Chango locked Niven up with the Muta Lock but he kicked out and tagged to Leiton.   As soon as Leiton hit the ring, El Chango took him down and locked in a camel clutch.  After cinching back just far enough to cause extreme pain, he let go and rolled Leiton up for the 1-2-3.  The Desperados get the win and retain their titles.   The show comes to an end with El Chango and Leon Teremoto celebrating in the ring holding their titles high over their heads.

Be sure to come back as Tacoma gets their two finalists and then in one week, the four meet here in Phoenix to crown an interim World Champion.  Stay Tuned.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2018 #678 – Tacoma Thunder

Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of HCW’s Tacoma Thunder.  The show begins immediately with pyro and an appearance from GM Max McGillicutty.  Max thanks the fans for tuning in and he says he’s making a huge announcement that tonight, 8 people on the Tacoma roster will get a shot to see who can potentially become the next interim World Champion.  He says lots of the roster has had their fair shots and now it’s time to give others a chance to shine.  Max then announces his 8 competitors and who they will face tonight to make it to the final four.

The Axe vs Hardcore Hensen w/ Matt Preacher
Jacques Beannot vs Dr. Red Fang
Nix Anderson w/ Matt Preacher vs Red Hot Lucas Johnston
The Crocodile Hunter vs Ice Dagger

Also on the card will be:

Vanilla Zombie vs Lady Hermann

And a main event headlined by:

Hardcore title match:  Magnum Kone vs Butch Huber.

The fans pop and Max leaves the stage so that the show can begin.  Pyro goes off once again and we hear, blaring over the loudspeakers “BECAUSE I’M HARDCORE” and out comes Hardcore Hensen and his manager “the Singapore Sensation” Matt Preacher.  The fans boo them as they make their way to the stage.  Hensen even goes so far to try and hit a fan who was mocking him but Preacher pulled him back.  Once in the ring, the music changed and out comes the Axe.  The fans pop for the former champ and he high-fives the fans as he makes his way to the ring.  The Axe gets in the ring and shrugs off a sneer from his opponent and climbs one of the corner turmbuckles to pops from the fans.  He doesn’t get to do anymore as Hensen blocks his way.  The two trade words before trading blows and this one begins.  The Axe struggled in the beginning of the match due to Preacher getting involved but he eventually shrugged it off and began a dominating run that had both Hensen and Preacher concerned.  One surprising note is that Hensen never went for a pin or submission for the entire match.  I think he was trying to show off how “hardcore” he really is.  The Singapore Sensation got involved one final time before being laid out by the Axe on the outside of the ring.  Axe rolled back in only to get tagged by Hard Times from Hensen.  Hensen made the cover and got the 3 count.  Hardcore Hensen gets the win and will advance to the interim title tournament.  Preacher joins him in the ring rubbing his jaw and raises Hensen’s arm in victory and the two of them leave.  Axe leaves shortly thereafter to a nice pop from the crowd.  (16 min)

We go backstage and standing there is Ant Graham and Dr. Red Fang.  Graham comments about tonight’s opponent saying that the US is tired of taking in all these foreigners (except for the ones he manages though).  Graham mentions the music band Nickelback (the fans pop) and promises to send Jeannot back to Canada to follow them home (they boo).  Fang just stood there snarling and eventually followed Graham off camera.

We hear “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE” and out comes Ant Graham and Dr. Red Fang.  The fans boo as they make their way down to the ring.  Their mocking of the fans is cut short when Jacques Beannot comes out and the fans pop for him.  He is joined on stage by US Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine who wishes his teammate good luck and turns and leaves as Jacques makes his way down to the ring.  Fang attacks Jacques as he enters the ring and this one begins.  Jacques and Fang went toe to toe for 7 solid minutes but then a Flying Fivearm took out Ant Graham and then Jacques took over and owned the rest of the match.  Fang ended up trying for a Vampire Lunge but Jacques reversed it and dropped him with a Canadian smash.  The match continued for another 12 minutes with Jacques just dominating the match (Fang only got in one offensive move in that entire 12 min) and then caught Fang with the Flying Fivearm.  Jacques made the cover and with very little effort, he got the 1-2-3.  Jacques gets the win and will advance into the interim tournament.  He leaves to a pop from the crowd.  Fang and Graham leave moments later.  (19 min)

“The Singapore Sensation” Matt Preacher is backstage with Nix Anderson and he’s still rubbing his jaw.  Nix says that he’s had an interesting run so far and throws out the question “Not even here 3 months and I already have a better record than a good part of this roster.  The dominance I’ve brought into this federation is second to none and after the match tonight, I go on and will dominate and TAKE that interim title and then will dispose of the supposed champion and will become the one and ONLY World Champion!”

Our next match is ready to go and “Red Hot” Lucas Johnston comes out and the fans pop huge.  Lucas makes his way down to the ring and the fans cheer him on.  He waves to the fans from the ring and then out comes “The Singapore Sensation” Matt Preacher and Nix Anderson.  Nix powerwalks to the ring and immediately climbs in and stares down Lucas.  Nix stands a good foot taller over his opponent.  Nix tries to use his size to intimidate but Lucas doesn’t seem to be affected.  This had to be the closest match of the night as Lucas stayed toe to toe with Nix and it just baffled him.  He could not believe this nobody was hanging with the big dog.  Finally, Preacher made his presence known and distracted the ref. Nix used that distraction and grabbed his ukulele and blasted Lucas with it.  He made the cover and grabbed a handful of tights for leverage and got the 1-2-3.  Nix Anderson gets the win and moves on in the tournament selection.  Preacher joins Nix in the ring and the two celebrate before leaving. (8 min)

Backstage, Lady Hermann is backstage.  She says she was the first opponent of her competitor tonight and tonight, she avenges the loss she was handed.  She knows what Vanilla Zombie can do and tonight, she is prepared to combat it and walk away with a win.

Our fourth and final tournament qualifier is up next.  First, the Crocodile Hunter comes out only to be ambushed by Ice Dagger.  Dagger, with a chair in hand, beat and bloodied up Croc.  Medics came out and immediately crossed their arms in an X and more medics came out with a stretcher and got him on there and rushed him to the back.  Ice Dagger went to the ring and took a mic saying that since Croc couldn’t make, he should win by default and therefore would be the 4th and final member of the tournament.  GM Max McGillicutty came out and blasted Ice Dagger for his cowardly attack.   Max said that there was no way ID walks into what other fought tooth and nail for.  Max says that he’s been holding, in reserve, a competitor in case something like this happened.  Max says this guy will be Ice Dagger’s competition.  Max steps aside as “the Hoff” Davis Hoffmeister came out to a HUGE pop from the crowd.  Davis shakes Max’s hand and makes a beeline for the ring.  Ice Dagger bails.  Davis climbs each of the turnbuckles to even greater pops from the fans.  Finally, Ice Dagger made his way back in and the bell rang immediately.  Both men held the advantage in the match throughout the match but as the match saw a time limit approaching, Davis turned up the heat that melted Ice Dagger’s offense.   Davis drops ID with a roundhouse kick.   ID struggles to his feet and ends up getting bodyslammed.  Finally, ID stumbles to his feet one final time and Davis nailed a piledriver.  Davis makes the cover and gets the 1-2-3.  Davis Hoffmeister gets the win and moves on in the interim tournament.  The fans pop huge for him and he celebrates before leaving.  Ice Dagger staggered to the back on his own.  (17 min)

Butch Huber is backstage with the other members of his clan – Junior and Ferb – who join us from the Phoenix Heat roster.  Butch says that the Snake Pit had their chance and now it’s his.  He will be the one to bring the Hardcore title home back home with him and pities anyone who gets in his way.

We go back to the ring for our next match.  Lady Hermann comes out first and is booed as she makes her way to the ring.  She goes right to the ring and beckons for her opponent to come out.  Vanilla Zombie comes out next and the crowd pops for her.  She looks awkwardly at them as if she wasn’t expecting to get this sort of a response from them.  She begins to walk to the ring but then notices that the normally group 4-5 people wearing zombie makeup has grown quite a bit and now there’s about 25 people all in one group.  She tilts her head towards them and then turns and makes her way to the ring.  For about 9 minutes, Vanilla Zombie went on the offensive while her Ladyship just hung in there.  After that point, it seemed that Lady Hermann was just playing possum and then began owning her opponent mocking her unnecessarily.   Lady Hermann caught Vanilla with a jumping knee drop and a close 2 count.  She then set Vanilla up in the corner and then called for a spear.  She rushed in but Vanilla moved and Lady Hermann hit the ring post.  She stumbled back into the ring and Vanilla hit a chokeslam.  She made the cover leaning hard on Lady Hermann’s arm and was able to get the 1-2-3.  Vanilla Zombie gets the win and another victory over her Ladyship.    Vanilla left immediately to the back as the fans popped for her and Lady Hermann followed.  (16 min)

Backstage, Hardcore Champion ‘the King of Cones’ Magnum Kone says he’s ready to take on Butch Huber and announces that their match tonight will be a ‘coal miner’s glove’ match.  He knows it’s a dangerous one so he will make sure he’s the first to get the glove and use it if he wants to walk out of here tonight as the champion.

It’s now time for our main event.  Butch Huber comes out first to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Next, Hardcore Champion Magnum Kone comes out pushing his ice cream cart.  He hands out ice cream to all the kids at ringside.  Once the cart was depleted, he entered the ring ready for his match.  Right off the bat, Butch tried to use the coal miner’s glove but Magnum wrestled it away and blasted him with it immediately drawing blood.  After that, Butch would only get ONE offensive move in and that was it.  Magnum controlled the match hitting Butch with the Ice Cream sandwich (splash), the Drumstick (an armbar) and the Push-Pop (legsweep).  Butch tried to start a comeback but the crimson mask he was wearing blinded him.  Magnum then threw Butch into the corner and hit the Ice Cream Sandwich again.  Butch fell into the ring and Magnum made the cover getting the 1…2…3.  Magnum Kone gets the win in 7 minutes to retain his title.  The ref hands him his title and he holds it high over his head.  The lights flicker and then when they come back on, Magnum is laid out and standing over him is Hardcore Hensen.   He begins to scream “BECAUSE I’M HARDCORE” over and over.  He picks up Magnum’s belt and holds it before dropping it on Magnum’s prone form.

The show comes to an end.  Thanks for reading.  Be sure to tune in as we make our way to the final four who will duke it out to see who the new Interim World Champion becomes.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2018 #677 – Phoenix Heat

Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of HCW’s Phoenix Heat.  The show begins back in GM Max McGillicutty’s office.  He comments now that Rad cashed in both his MITB contracts and lost, he’s out of the title hunt.  Max then proclaims Starbuck Steel as the #1 contender.

Backstage Buzz is backstage laughing at Gumbo for cashing in 2 MITB contracts and losing them both.   Buzz is then blindsided by Gumbo who attacks him with a chair.   Starbuck rushes to his brother’s aid but not before Buzz is taken out the hard way.   Gumbo is ejected from the building.  Buzz is taken to the doctor backstage to be checked out.

Ladies Champion Candice shows up and calls Phoenix roster inferior.  GM Master Bull walks over and he’s still upset about the attack on Buzz and shuts Candice down and says that tonight, she will take part of a Fatal Four way vs Starr Vixen, Madame Jade & El Gato Negro.  Bull heads back to the medical office backstage.

Buzz is checked out but it’s clear he won’t be able to defend his title in the next 30 days.  Buzz will not be stripped of the title but Starbuck and Rad will meet to determine the interim champ and that person will meet Buzz at the July PPV to unify the belts.  Just then, ‘the Elitist’ Reid Rothchild and ‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger walk into Max’s office and say it should be top 4 fighting for that right.  Bull kicks them out of his office and calls Tacoma GM Max McGillicutty and after a lengthy discussion, they decide it will be top 8 (four from each brand) fighting for the interim title but each fed will host their own mini tournaments to determine who gets the right to fight for the interim belt.  Those matches begin tonight.

Master Bull picks:

1.               Starbuck Steel vs the Elitist Reid Rothchild
2.               Rad Gumbo vs Sonic Blade
3.               Top Gun Justin Winger vs Scooter J

Ravishing Raquel vs Taylor Bella
Fatal four way set up vs Starr Vixen, Madame Jade & El Gato Negro.

4.         Texas Wildfire vs the Unknown Assassin – TV title match – the winner will move on to the tourney

Our show begins with some pyro and Elitism manager the Ambassador comes out and following him is ‘The Elitist’ Reid Rothchild.  Both men are booed as they head to the ring.  Upon entering the ring, Reid begins to spout off at the fans and the ref approaches the Ambassador.  He tells the manager that the GM has declared that he would not be allowed at ringside and is sent to the back.  Reid complains but it does no good.  Reid has to win this one on his own.  Next, Starbuck Steel makes his way out and the fans pop huge for him.  He walks down to the ring and passes by the Ambassador who bumps Starbuck as he makes his way down to the ring.  Starbuck gets in the ring and after he climbs the first turnbuckle, Reid attacks him from behind.  Starbuck owned the match keeping Reid two steps behind.  However, the longer the match dragged on, it appeared that Starbuck started to get wobbly.  This allowed Reid to start a comeback.  By the 18 minute mark, Starbuck was almost out on his feet.  The only explanation is that somehow the Ambassador did something to him.  In an act of desperation, Starbuck connected with a hangman DDT but Reid got to his feet first and connected with the Rothchild Stunner.  He rolled Starbuck up and put his feet on the ropes for leverage and the ref counted 1-2-3.  Reid Rothchild gets the win and moves on in the tournament.  The fans voice their displeasure but he doesn’t care and laughs all the way to the back.  (19 min)

Ravishing Raquel is backstage and she says that tonight, the road back to the Ladies title continues and she takes on Taylor Bella.  Raquel says she respects Taylor a lot more than Candice and with a win tonight, the #1 spot is only a grasp away.  She knows she has to go through Taylor but is confident the soon-to-be next champ will come out on top.

We head back to the ring for our next match.  Sonic Blade makes his way out first and the fans pop for him.   Next, Queen Alexandria comes out and ‘the Ragin Cajun’ King Rad Gumbo comes out to a blaring “Gumbo 7:30 says its suppa time bitch” and his royalness heads down to the ring with his queen.  Gumbo tried to attack Sonic right away but ended up getting dumped out of the ring.  Gumbo would slam his hands on the mat multiple times (maybe expressing his frustration) before getting back in the ring.  Once back in, the bell rings starting this one off.   Sonic took control of the match early on but Queen Alexandria got involved a few times.  Sonic drops Gumbo with an Alhambra Attack but somehow Gumbo makes it to the ropes to break the hold.  Sonic got up and was going to hit it again but Gumbo caught him and connected with the Where ya At (quick jabs) and rolled Sonic up and with a handful of tights, he got the pin at the 14 min mark.  King Rad Gumbo gets the win and he and Queen Alexandria immediately leave.  Sonic tried to complain to the ref but what’s done is done.  Gumbo moves on in the tournament.

Back in his office, Master Bull has gathers up all the footage from the multiple camera angles and brings in HCW’s forensic mastermind Gardinia Blue and gives her all the footage to review to see if there was any funny business when Starbuck and the Ambassador passed each other on the ramp.  She takes it and says she’ll comb through it and will have an answer back before the end of the show.

It’s time for our 3rd match.  Scooter J comes out first and he is booed all the way down to the ring.  Next, Justin Winger comes out and the fans pop huge for him.  He makes his way down to the ring and he and Scooter J immediately go nose to nose.  Scooter J hits a low blow as the ref turns to call for the start of the match.  He then pulled Winger to the corner and wrapped both Winger’s arm and leg against the steel post.  That totally grounded Winger as he struggled to stay upright while balancing on one good leg.  15 minutes in, Scooter J catches Winger with a superkick but SJ took too long showboating before going for a pin.  Winger was able to kick out at 2.  Scooter J, pissed, picked up Winger and delivered the nastiest eye rake of all eye rakes.  He then rolled up Justin from behind and with a blatant handful of tights, he got the 3 count.  Scooter J gets the win at the 16 minute mark and moves on in the tournament.

Taylor Bella is making the walk towards the ring and she is stopped and asked about what she thought of the comments Ravishing Raquel made earlier and she scrunches up her face and just keeps walking towards the ring.

El Gato Negro, Madame Jade and Starr Vixen are backstage.  Even though El Gato does not play nicely with the rest of the division, she says that she agrees that tonight, Ladies Champion Candice Charisma will think twice about mocking their division.

Our next match starts off with Taylor Bella coming out and heading to the ring.  The fans boo as she makes her way down.  She does her best to ignore them but the fans just know how to get under her skin.  Next, Ravishing Raquel comes out and the fans pop huge for her.  She makes her way to the ring and gets in right away.  She climbs two of the corner turnbuckles before Taylor pulled her down and yelled at her to get this started.  Raquel dominated the match (like she always seems to) and totally owned the match up against Taylor.  She hit Taylor with multiple diving knee drops and subsequent pin attempts but Taylor kept grabbing the ropes to break the hold.  Raquel pulled Taylor right into the middle of the ring and delivered one last diving knee drop and this time, with no ropes to grab, Raquel gets the 1-2-3 and the win.  The fans pop for her and she makes her way to the back while Taylor struggles to her feet in the ring and follows shortly thereafter.  (10 min)

Texas Wildfire is backstage and says that tonight begins the start to what will turn out to be the best year of his career.  He will defeat the Unknown Assassin to regain the TV title and will then move on to get the Interim World Title.

It’s time for our next match.  One by one, the 4 competitors to our Ladies Fatal Four way may their way out to the ring.  First, Starr Vixen, El Gato Negro and Madame Jade all made their way to the ring.  Lastly, the Ladies Champion Candice Charisma makes her way out and she does not look like she wants to be here.  She immediately grabs a mic once she gets in the ring and reminds everyone that her title is NOT on the line tonight.  She will take the best Phoenix has to offer and will still walk away as the #1 superstar in all of HCW.  The match begins and Candice lives up to her reputation and totally owned the match.  However, the Phoenix ladies started to fight amongst themselves and Candice just sat out.   After 27 minutes, El Gato Negro turned her frustrations to Candice.  El Gato slapped the champ across the face and Candice retaliated with a dropkick that sent El Gato tumbling into the middle of the ring.  She got to her feet and Starr Vixen caught her totally unaware with a vicious clothesline.  Starr immediately made the cover and got the 3 count.  Starr Vixen gets the win.  Candice grabbed her title and laughed all the way to the back.  Starr and Madame Jade both left the ring and El Gato followed eventually. (28 min)

Gardinia Blue goes into Master Bull’s office and sitting there are (a groggy) Starbuck Steel, the Ambassador and ‘the Elitist’ Reid Rothchild.  She says that she has gone through all the footage and has determined that the Ambassador did in fact stick Starbuck Steel with a syringe of some sort that must have drugged him.  The Ambassador and Reid try to deny the fact but Bull shuts them up.  Bull says the evidence is just enough for him to actually reverse the ref’s decision for the match between Starbuck and Reid and Reid is now OUT of the tournament and Starbuck is in.  The Ambassador says he’s going to sue Bull, HCW and everyone involved in this travesty.   Starbuck says that he wants one more match against Reid but this time in a Steel Cage.  Reid tries to complain but Bull says he accepts the match or he’ll be fired along with his manager.  Reid reluctantly agrees.  The two will have one more match with the winner moving on.  Bull says that Gardinia Blue has mad skills.

It is time for our main event.  First, Texas Wildfire comes out and the fans go absolutely nuts.  He high fives the fans all the way down to the ring and then those at ringside.  As soon as he enters the ring and climbs the turnbuckle, the music changes and out comes the TV Champion the Unknown Assassin and his manager J C Dykes.  The duo are booed all the way down to the ring.  UA and Dykes get into the ring.  Dykes grabs a mic and tells everyone they will get to witness the embarrassment that will befall Wildfire and the rise or the next World Champion.   The ref reminds us that the winner of the match will be the one who will be moving on and Dykes points to UA.   The bell rings to start this one off.  Dykes started off with slipping the Unknown Assassin a foreign object and he used to his advantage and controlled the pace of the match.  12 minutes in, TW connects with a Hangman’s Clothesline but he only got a 2 count.   Dykes then got involved and the Honorable J C Dykes executed a Slams opponent's leg into the Ring Pole while ref distracted and TW was then on the defensive.  TW wasn’t able to accomplish much on his bum leg but after a few minutes, he was able to shake off the numbness.  Wildfire started an offensive run and he hit another hangman’s clothesline but Dykes blew a whistle and that distracted TW from trying to attempt a pin.  TW started to ramp things up again but Dykes got up and threw a fireball (enough of a distance away to only singe his hair) and the ref immediately disqualified the Unknown Assassin.  UA is disqualified but doesn’t lose the TV title however that takes him out of the running for the interim World Title hunt.  Texas Wildfire gets the win via DQ and moves on in the tournament.  He’s not all that happy about it but is happy he made it to the final four.

Master Bull comes out and thanks the fans for sticking around and says that he’s not leaving tonight until things are sorted out between Starbuck Steel and Reid Rothchild.  The ring crew come out and set up the steel cage.  Once it was completed, Bull calls both men out to have our second main event of the night.

Both Reid and Starbuck made their way out separately and enter the cage.  There was no delay in getting this one going.  All the wrongs that Reid inflicted in their last match were made up in this one.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2018 #676 – Tacoma Thunder

Hello fans and welcome back to our next installment of HCW’s Tacoma Thunder.  First, we would like to say "Happy Mothers Day" to all the mom's out there (and that are in attendance at our show).

The show begins backstage with the arrival of US Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine.  Drew walks in only to be confronted by Elitism member “Rowdy” Roderick Rothchild.   He is with his manager the Ambassador.  Roderick says that he’s been on the top 10 for some time but Drew has been ditching him.  The Ambassador produces a contract showing that, tonight, Roderick finally gets a shot at the US title.  Roderick says he’s ready and questions Drew if he’s ready for an ass kicking.  Roderick and his manager then walk off.

Pyro goes off and GM Max McGillicutty comes out and thanks the fans for attending live and tuning in on broadcast TV.  He acknowledges the main event with Drew taking on Roderick.  He says that they will have a great line up tonight and doesn’t want to waste the fans’ time by him jabbering so he leaves the stage so the show can begin.

Pyro goes off once again and newcomer Ruby Rose makes her way out first to a pop from the crowd.  She gets in the ring and says now that she has a few matches under her belt, she wants to see if she can make her way into the ladies top 10 and issues a challenge to Taylor Bella.  Taylor comes out and looks really put out.  She gets into the ring and starts to jaw jack with Ruby.  “Do you know who I am?  I am a former Ladies Champion and a former Divas’ Champion.  You don’t call me out you wannabe.  But I’m here so I guess I have to teach you a lesson.”  She removes her robe and the bell rings kicking this one off. Taylor didn’t seem to take this very seriously but Ruby did and much to everyone’s amazement, she went toe to toe with the former champ.  As time dragged on, Taylor realized this wasn’t going to be a pushover and started to take things more seriously but by that time, Ruby was controlling the match.  Taylor tried for a Sitout Facebuster but Ruby reversed it and hit an exploder suplex.  She made the cover and hooked both legs as the ref counted 1…2…3.  Ruby gets the win and immediately moves up in the rankings.   Taylor was pissed and actually stormed off.  (14 min)

Nix Anderson is backstage with his manager “The Singapore Sensation” Matt Preacher.  Matt says that Nix is a diamond in the rough but once he’s done with him, he will be wearing gold.  It’s not a matter of if but when.  Nix chimes in and says that Preacher has given him focus and before everyone knows it, he’ll be skyrocketing to the top of HCW.

It’s time for our next match.  First, Ovaltine Jackson comes out to a pop from the crowd.  His music is cut off before he even reached the ring.   Nix Anderson comes out with his manager and the fans boo him.  He doesn’t care and he saunters down to the ring with the smuggest of smug looks on his face.  The Singapore Sensation gives Nix some last minute advice and this one is ready to go.   Ovaltine controlled the match for the first 3 minutes but after Nix left the ring for some advice, he snuck back in.  Preacher distracted the ref and Nix hit Ovaltine with his ukulele.  Ovaltine kicked out at 1 but wasn’t the same after that.  Nix took control of the match with Preacher getting involved one time to bludgeon Ovaltine with a foreign object.  Nix would hit Ovaltine with the ukulele again for only a 1 count.  Finally, he got desperate.  He grabbed a mic and began singing.  Ovaltine, like a lot of the fans put their hands over their ears.  Ovaltine turned to tell someone to cut off the mic and Nix rushed over and rolled up Ovaltine for the 3 count.   Nix Anderson gets the win.  His manager joins him in the ring and he raises Nix’s arm high.  The two of them leave to the booing from the crowd but he doesn’t care.  One more win puts him that much closer to a title shot.  (18 min)

Backstage, “The Hoff” Davis Hoffmeister arrives.  He sees that tonight he gets to take on Superquake Ferguson.  He sighs.  “Well, you win some, but you lose more when you go up against me Mr. Ferguson.”  Davis laughs a bit and heads to his dressing room.

It’s time to head back to the ring.  First, the Crocodile Hunter and Outback Oscar come out to a pop from the crowd.  After they psyched up the crowd, the music changed and out comes manager MJ and the Smashers.  The trio are booed as they head to the ring.   The Smashers try to sneak attack but are quickly dispatched out of the ring.  Finally this one is ready to start.  The Smashers were incredibly vicious in this match but Oscar and Croc didn’t know the meaning of the word quit.  They hung in there despite being sequestered in the opposite corner but would fight to make the hot tag.  The fans kept cheering Croc and Oscar on until the match was forced to conclude when the 30 minute bell rang.  MJ took his team from the ring as he didn’t want them to waste any more time on this lame-o team.  Croc and Oscar, exhausted, briefly met with the fans and eventually left.

Superquake Ferguson is backstage and he’s irate that he hasn’t been given his rematch for the Hardcore title.  He says that one person will feel his wrath and too bad for the Hoff.

We are ready for the next match to begin.  First, music plays and out comes Davis Hoffmeister.  The Hoff is over with the fans and he shows his appreciation for them.  After getting pops for psyching up the crowd, Superquake Ferguson comes barreling out from the back and makes a beeline for the ring.  Davis immediately locks in the Hollywood (camel) clutch trying to get the big man to submit but he shakes Davis off.  Davis tries for it again but once again, Superquake shrugs him off.  Ferguson nails Davis with a big foot to the face.  Superquake then stands on Davis’ neck.  He picks Davis up and connects with another big foot to the face.  Davis hits a low blow (oops) and grabs Ferguson by the trunks and connects with a piledriver.  He goes for the pin but Superquake kicks out but is moving much slower.  Davis gets up and is pumped from the energy from the fans and he calls for another piledriver.  He connects and hooks one leg (and puts his feet on the ropes for leverage (Hey…) and he gets the 1-2-3.  Davis Hoffmeister gets the win and the fans couldn’t be happier.  They pop for him and he makes a quick getaway as he doesn’t want to face any additional ire from the giant. Ferguson leaves shortly thereafter.  (6 min)

Ant Graham and his Ghouls (Dr. Red Fang/Mason/Wolfman Keg) are backstage and he says that since Brick is gone, Axe and TNT needed a new partner and they chose…who…Superstar Chic Monroe?  Really?  That is all they could come up with?  He laughs and says that the Ghouls will dispatch them and get their 6 man titles back.

It’s time for 6 man tag team action.  First, the new team of the Axe, TNT and Superstar Chic Monroe come out to a decent pop from the crowd.   Their interaction with the crowd is interrupted when “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE” blares through the loud speakers.  Ant Graham leads his Ghouls down to the ring.  The Ghouls waste no time and go right on the offensive.  They hold the advantage briefly but the Axe and his team had multiple double and triple teaming on the Ghouls.  Graham did stick his nose in a few times but was dealt with by TNT.   Chic seemed to do well but after Fang flew at him taking him out of the game, he was done.  Mason used the distraction to his advantage and he and Wolfman Keg hit Axe with a double stiff spike piledriver.  Mason made the cover and got the 3 count.  The Ghouls and Graham gloated to the booing of the fans and left.  Chic and TNT checked on Axe and they helped him to his feet and the three of them left.  (11 min)

US Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine is backstage and he says that Roderick is bringing his big ol’ bag of tricks and that includes the devious manager the Ambassador.  He says he is completely aware of what he’s up against but still expects to be victorious.

It’s time for the main event.  First, the Ambassador comes out and introduces “Rowdy” Roderick Rothchild.  The two are booed as they head to the ring.  Roderick flips the fans off.  The music changes and out comes the US Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine and the fans blow the roof off the place.   Drew climbs the turnbuckle and the fans pop louder.  Roderick is not happy with the reception and tries to attack Drew but Drew sees him coming and backs off.   The two begin the match and it’s pretty even between the two.  The Ambassador gets involved and briefly gives Roderick the advantage but Drew battled back pretty quick.  Once we hit the 13 minute mark, The Ambassador tried to choke Drew in the corner but Drew reversed it and caught the Rowdy one with a Corkscrew Pescado but Roderick nullified it.   Drew goes for a series of slaps but it’s reversed and Rothchild hits the Rothchild Stunner.  Drew rolls out of the ring to avoid the pin.  Drew slides back in and catches Roderick unaware with a Corkscrew Pescado and hooks the leg to get the 1-2-3.  Drew wins the match and retains his title.  Roderick and the Ambassador leave while Drew celebrates with the fans as the show comes to a close.

Thanks for reading.  Phoenix Heat will be up next.  Stay tuned.
