HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #633 – APOCALYPSE PPV DAY 2

Hello fans and welcome to Day 2 of HCW’s Apocalypse PPV.  Day 1 had a lot of surprises and titles changing hands.  Elitism became the new Tag Team Champions, Phat Sol became the new TV champion, and the Steel Curtain & Biceps Bannerman defeated Graham’s Ghouls to become the 6 Man tag team champions.  After the show, DJ CJ Spice was taken to a hospital to evaluate the extent of his injuries.

The show began today not in the ring but backstage.  GM’s Max McGillicutty and Master Bull were in an office talking about the layout for today’s show when manager J C Dykes and the Unknown Assassin stormed into their office.  Dykes screamed that he was going to sue both of them and HCW for negligence.  Bull asked Dykes what he’d been smoking.  Dykes produced a contract that shows that security is supposed to line all the way from the stage to the ring but security ended up leaving before they made it to the ring and the Unknown Assassin got hit in the head with a can and that led (it’s a stretch) to his losing the TV title.  Dykes said he would sue everyone unless UA got a rematch against Phat Sol TONIGHT.   Bull and Max looked over the contract and acknowledged that there was a miscommunication with security.  Max says “You know what, you’re right.  You can leverage a lawsuit against Bull and I if you really want (HCW is protected from such nonsense) but at the end of the day, you’re whining about HIM losing the title.  If all it takes is to give him his rematch tonight, so be it.  If you agree to this, you are removing us from any liability due to last night’s incident.”  Dykes took the contract and signed it with great enthusiasm.  Dykes began to laugh but Bull stopped him.  “You understand that what you just signed means you cannot come back and change your mind.  This is it.”  Dykes acknowledged it.  “Also, you just acknowledged that if the Unknown Assassin does not regain the belt tonight, the whole ‘I have to be on every show’ also goes away and he will be treated like any member of our roster.”  Dykes blew up again.  “YOU CAN’T DO THAT.”  Max says “We did and you agreed to it. Now, leave so we can get our show up and going.”  Dykes and UA stormed out of the office.  Bull and Max smiled as the camera faded to black.

Pyro goes off and Day 2 is now officially underway.

For our first match, the Hubers – Butch and Ferb Huber accompanied by their brother Junior Huber head down to the ring to booing from the fans.  Butch and Ferb get in the ring and the fans continue to boo until new music hits and Adam Jameson and Billy Robbins come out and the fans then pop for them.  The Ferb’s tried to get the fans to quiet down but their actions yielded no results.  The match started up pretty quick but the Hubers, with help from Junior, took the match to their opponents.  Junior almost got caught a couple of times but he managed to plead innocent.  Ferb pulled a table out from under the ring and set it up.  Finally, during double teaming, Billy blasted Butch with rapid punches and after Butch dropped Billy with a Gator roll, AJ tossed him right out of the ring right on top of Junior.  Junior caught Butch but slipped and both of them went crashing through the table.  Butch was slow to get up and didn’t make it back into the ring in time and ended up getting counted out.  Adam and Billy get the win via countout much to the fans delight.  They stayed and celebrated as Butch, Junior and Ferb all limped to the back to nurse their wounds.  (12 min)

Backstage, Scooter J, Otto Ruthless and King Wilber Townsend are backstage and Scooter J is pacing like a tiger.  He says that Axe and TNT both turned their backs on him costing him 1/3rd of the 6 Man titles so he is now teaming up with two men who both know their opponents (King Wilber and TNT) or don’t care (Otto Ruthless).  He’s teamed with two true bad-asses and they’ll prove it tonight by embarrassing Axe, TNT and Brick.

Our next match kicks off with the twins Betsy & Felicia Cummings and their partner Lexy Flexx coming out and getting booed as they head down to the ring.  They yell at the fans as they make their way into the ring.  Next, Madame Jade, Starr Vixen and Scarlett Phoenix come out to a huge pop from the crowd.  They make their way down and shake hands with the fans and take some selfies.  The twins and Lexy don’t like to be kept waiting so they rush out of the ring and attack their opponents who battle back and take the action into the ring where the ref can get it properly started.  The sneak attack by the villains gave them an edge at the beginning of the match but as soon as Jade, Starr and Scarlett fully recovered, they took the match to their opponents who tried to run away a few times but never got too far.  Just as the match was nearing the 30 minute mark (this one flew by), The Cummings Twins tried to double team Starr but she nailed Betsy with a Flying Fivearm that sent her flying out of the ring.  Felicia connected with a springboard armdrag but was met with a vicious clothesline from Starr that sent Felicia crashing to the mat.  Lexy tried to enter the ring but the bell rang bringing this one to a draw finish.  Lexy left and quickly re-entered with a steel chair but never got to use it as Madame Jade hit her with a flying dropkick and she dropped the chair.  Scarlett hit Lexy with the Black Widow and Starr sent her out of the ring with a flying fivearm.  The three favorites stood tall in the ring and smiled and waved as Lexy and the twins made their way to the back.  The favorites celebrated with the fans taking more selfies and then left.  (30 min draw)

We cut to the back again and the Axe is there with TNT and Brick.  The Axe says that Scooter J lost focus and then lost his marbles (TNT chimes in holding a bag of marbles and says “found them”) and that he’s just a sore loser who doesn’t know when to quit.  Well tonight, the three of them will make sure that life becomes miserable for the “poor lost soul”.  Brick adds in that Wilber and Ruthless aren’t to be taken lightly and therefore they will meet them with every trick in the book…just to keep things on the up and up.

Match #3 is ready to begin.  Scooter J, Otto Ruthless and King Wilber Townsend all make their way down to the ring and the fans turn their noses at them as if they’ve smelled something foul.  New music plays and TNT, Axe and Brick come out to a pop from the crowd and begin to make their way to the ring.  Just as they enter the ring, Otto grabs a chair.  That’s ok as Brick has a barbwire bat.  The ref makes them both discard their illegal objects and gets this one started.  Brick begins with going for a Lou Thesz press but Scooter J catches him and chokes him on the ropes.  Otto is tagged in and Brick bodyslams him.  King Wilber joins Otto and they double team him with Wilber hitting hammering blows to the back and then Otto hurling him over the top rope.  Scooter J rushes over and picks up Brick and hits a Brainbuster on the floor.  The ref counts as Wilber and Otto taunt Axe and TNT but Brick isn’t able to get back up so he gets counted out at the 2 minute mark.  Scooter J, Otto Ruthless and King Wilber get the win via CO however GM Master Bull comes out and says it won’t end like this.  He tells the ref to restart the match but Brick will not be able to participate as he’s been stretchered out.  Bull asks Axe if they are ok with a handicap match and he says yes.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says that it’s not fair for Scooter J and his cronies to do something illegal and get away with it.  He makes the match a normal tag team and acknowledges the shark cage above the ring.  It is lowered and Max asks Scooter J who will be wrestling and he says he and Wilber will.  The ref then locks Otto into the mini cage and it’s hoisted above the ring.  Bull says this will now be a no DQ match.  Scooter J immediately takes the chair and begins whalloping Axe with it to soften him up.  Axe did ok but the damage was done.  TNT got the hot tag in when his sibling King Wilber came in but Wilber had the barbwire bat and busted TNT open with it.  Wilber and Scooter J then kept TNT separated not allowing him to tag out.  Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Axe gets the hot tag.  Scooter J tags Wilber in but doesn’t leave.  Axe throws Scooter J to the ropes and hits him with the Axe but he’s not the legal man.  Wilber hits the ropes hard and nails Axe with a running crossbody.  He hooks the leg (and the tights AND has his feet on the ropes) and the ref counts 1…2…3.  Scooter J and King Wilber steal the win in 17 minutes.  Otto’s cage is lowered and as he exits the cage, a bloodied and bandaged Brick comes out with a chair of his own but before he gets in the ring, he pulls out a lighter and the chair CATCHES FIRE (it has something on it apparently).  Scooter J and team bolt out of the ring as Brick enters with a flaming chair.  The heels run from the ring and Brick HURLS the flaming chair at them.  They scatter quickly.  Axe, TNT and Brick get a pop from the crowd as they eventually make their way to the back.

Super Shockmaster is backstage and says that having one’s career on the line isn’t enough and he doesn’t want Wildfire to skate out on a technicality so he demands this one be in the confines of a steel cage. GM Max McGillicutty was walking by and told him it was a good idea and it would be happening next.  Max leaves to tell the crew to go set up the cage.

Texas Wildfire is backstage and he says that tonight, he takes the career of Super Shockmaster.  A stipulation was added (confirmed) that this would in fact take place in a steel cage.  TW says that he isn’t going anywhere and the Super Shockmaster will be the one looking for a new home.

We are almost ready for our next match and the crew finished assembling the cage.  The Super Shockmaster makes his way out as the fans boo him.  He enters the cage and paces waiting for his opponent.  Next, Texas Wildfire comes out and the fans practically blow the roof off the place.  This guy is OVER with this crowd.  He slaps the fans’ hands as he makes his way to the ring.  The ref holds the door open for him but he opts to go over the top of the cage instead.  TW and SS meet face to face in the middle of the ring and as the bell rings, the two begin to slug it out.  For 12 minutes, the two competitors beat the crap out of each other.  Neither man attempted a pin until we got into the 14th minutes of the match which is where we join it at.

TV Champion Phat Sol is backstage and he says he’s not annoyed that Dykes and the Unknown Assassin are cashing in their spot; he’s actually ecstatic because with this defense, that big goof will never get another shot at this title once he beats him and send him home crying.

Manager J C Dykes comes out and tells the fans to shut up and sit down as he introduces the NEXT TV champion the Unknown Assassin.  UA comes out and he and Dykes remain on the stage as security comes out and lines the ramp down to the ring.  Dykes and UA head down to the ring and Dykes glares at each security guard with revulsion.  He nonchalantly dismisses them once they get to the ring.  As they depart, a fan throws another can and this time it bounces off of Dykes’ head.  The fans get a good laugh at that.  Dykes screams that the fans will be the ones who will pay.

As we prepare for our main event, El Gato Negro is backstage cutting a promo.  She says that the time off was good both mentally and physically and she’s been waiting for this moment for a long time.  She says that she will give Taylor a good run for her money and she is sure that the best woman will win.

We then cut to where TV Champion Phat Sol was being loaded into an ambulance.  J C Dykes and the Unknown Assassin watched from a hidden corner and were snickering about Phat’s injury.  Dykes tells the Unknown Assassin that this will be how they get the TV title back.  They turn and leave.

We cut to another interview area where manager Figgy Newton is with the Ladies Champion Taylor Bella.  Figgy says that El Gato is full of El Guano if she thinks she can defeat the most dominant woman in all of wrestling.  Taylor Bella has even surpassed fame and fortune of her older “sisters” and everyone just wants to be her.  Taylor looks at the camera and as says succinctly “Just bring it.”

It’s time for our main event.  First, El Gato Negro comes out to a huge pop from the crowd.  She gets into the ring and pumps her arms into the air and soaks in the crowd’s adulation.  Next, the music changes and out comes Figgy Newton and he introduces the Ladies Champion Taylor Bella.  The fans boo as the two of them make their way down to the ring.  Taylor wastes no time and gets into the ring and into the face of El Gato.  The two stare at each other.  Taylor hands over her title and this one begins.  Taylor immediately turned up the heat and threw El Gato into the ring post.   Taylor would revisit the post every couple of minutes to keep up the damage.  We join the match at the 8 minute mark.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #632 – APOCALYPSE PPV DAY 1

Hello fans and welcome to Day 1 of HCW’s PPV – Apocalypse!  Pyro goes off and the fans here in Denver, CO pop like you’ve never heard.  The camera pans the crowd taking in their enthusiasm.  Our two GM’s Max McGillicutty and Master Bull come out and the pop just gets louder.  Bull walks out onto the ramp and prompts the fans to get up and get (even more) fired up which they do.  Bull walks back over to where Max is standing.  Max gets on the mic and thanks the fans for supporting HCW as they continue to find their place in the world of professional wrestling.  Bull takes the mic and tells us we are in for a real treat with the best of HCW participating in 3 days and 18 matches of high impact action.  He acknowledges that it’s been an interesting year with all the ups and downs HCW has had but it only makes them stronger.  Max takes the mic back and says that the fans are ready for some real action and they leave the stage as pyro goes off once again and we’re ready to get our party started.

JC Dykes and the Unknown Assassin begin the show with a little promo.  “Ladies and Gentlemen…my champion has no equal…Within his soul there are countless warrior champions. When defeat is close, one of his warrior spirits engages with the fleshly extensions of my Assassin, and victory is the outcome. Assassin was raised as the practice ninja for the greatest of all ninjas. Time after time, day after day, UA limped home bruised and bleeding. This was his lifestyle for several years. Then, little by little, he countered his master’s attacks. Little by little, he began to get better and better. Little by little, he held his own against the strongest of warriors. Little by little, he became the teacher and the warrior champion became the student. Now we are here. Little by little, we have challenged and won all our battles. Little by little, we win 2 little trophies you call championship belts. Little by little, we become World Champion. Thank you very much. These 2, Chima Changa and So Fat I Fall, will be added to the heap of broken bodies as we climb to your pinnacle. We demand to meet World Champion and show who the real World Champion is. We are the People’s Champ.”

Our first match of the evening kicks off with Lady Hermann (the first Lady of Wrestling as she calls herself) making her way down to the ring to booing from the crowd.  The fans taunt her by holding 4 fingers upside down.  She showboats around the ring and the fans are expressing their displeasure.  The music changes and out comes Kimberly Kiccass.  The crowd pops for her even though she’s not exactly a fan favorite either (just probably liked of the better of the two).  She gets into the ring but Lady Hermann attacks her kicking this one off quick.   The match remained even for the entire bout with both ladies giving it their all.  In the first minute of the match, Lady Hermann locked in the Figure 8 leglock turning it right into a Figure 4 leglock but Kimberly made it to the ropes.  Kimberly gingerly favored her leg but it really didn’t impede her ability to fight.  We join the match at the 6 minute mark.

Kimberly Kiccass gets the win and she stands over Lady Hermann before climbing the turnbuckles to the pop from the fans.  After a few minutes, she leaves.  Lady Hermann went to the back on her own.

We cut to the back where manager Ant Graham and his Ghouls (Dr. Red Fang, Covfefe and Mason the Mangler) (6 man tag team champions) are being interviewed.  Graham rags on the Steel Curtain for being so pathetic as to hang on to the past when they were something.  That time is gone and it’s now time for the Ghouls to run wild and they will run wild all over SC and Biceps.  He sarcastically wishes them best luck but says neither luck nor skill will help them tonight.  As they are leaving, Dr. Red Fang screams “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR THE STEEL CURTAIN, BICEPS BANNERMAN AND THAT COWARD @JOWSTERGUY!”

We are ready for our second match.  First, Phat Sol makes his way down to the ring to a huge pop from the crowd.  Next, El Chango makes his way out and the fans pop for him also.  He enters the ring and after showboating for the fans, he makes his way over and extends his hand to Phat who shakes it.  Finally, manager J C Dykes comes out and has a mic in hand.  “You two lovebirds better make nicey nice on your own time.  Tonight, the champion of champions the Unknown Assassin wipes the mat with both of you and puts to rest any question of who the greatest champion of all time is.  Ladies and Germs…I present to you… YOUR US and TV Champion…the Unknown Assassin.  UA comes out as the fans boo him.  UA and Dykes wait impatiently as security comes out (moving pretty slow) and lines the ramp.  Dykes and the Unknown Assassin make their way to the ring when security abruptly depart leaving Dykes and UA exposed to the fans’ ire.  A fan threw a can that ended up hitting UA in the head.  He was a bit dazed but shook it off.  The TV title is on the line in this 30 minute time limit match.  The match was pretty much either the Unknown Assassin vs Phat Sol or vs El Chango.  It wasn’t until the last few minutes of the match that El Chango and Phat Sol met one on one.  At the 16 minute mark, Phat hit UA with the Phat’s Enough and El Chango hit him with the Diamond Dust before dumping him unceremoniously out of the ring.  Then it came down to Phat vs El Chango.

We cut backstage with Steel Curtain (Buzz and Starbuck Steel) with Biceps Bannerman.   Buzz Steel says that tonight, the “legends” show the upstarts what it means to mess with the alpha dogs.  Bannerman adds that they know how the game is played so nothing Graham or his goofy ghouls can do that will surprise them.  Starbuck says that tonight, he has a new word to sign off with…DOMINATE.

It’s time to head back to the ring for our 3rd match of the night.  First, the challengers make their way out for a shot at the 6 man titles.  The Steel Curtain and Biceps Bannerman all come out to a small pop from the crowd (crowd isn’t necessarily on their side but they are against who is coming out next) however they are NOT accompanied by their manager the Ambassador.  Ant Graham comes out and introduces the 6 Man Tag Team Champions – Graham’s Ghouls.  First, Covfefe comes out followed by Mason the Mangler and finally, as the loudspeakers blare with his introduction “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE!” and out comes Dr. Red Fang.  The 6 man champs (wearing their titles) and their manager all head down to the ring.  GM Master Bull comes out and tells everyone that he doesn’t want this one ending on some technicality so he is making it a no DQ/no time limit match where there WILL be a winner.  Graham is at ringside throwing a fit.  All six men started off in the ring brawling and it took a bit for the ref to gain control.  Once he did and started the match, the Curtain and Biceps began triple teaming the champs much to Ant Graham’s shock.  Just when the Ghouls started to get something going, Fang’s opponent on Sunday @Jowersterguy (our IT specialist) showed up and pulled Fang off the apron and the two began brawling to the back leaving Covfefe and Mason.   We join the match at the 11 min mark.

Magnum Kone wins with a THROW OVER TOP ROPE - Count Out over Mason the Mangler!!!

Magnum Kone gets the win via countout but it’s a win nonetheless.  Magnum celebrates with the fans briefly before heading to the back.

Backstage, Red Hot Lucas Johnston is being interviewed.  He says he’s been granted a huge opportunity tonight taking Ice Dagger and he’ll prove that ID “ain’t got nothin’ on me”.  Just as he was finishing up, in walked Hardcore Champion Leon Teremoto.  Leon said that he wished Lucas the best for his match.  He too is taking on two great talents in Pete Punsher and the Fiend and is looking forward to taking on the best but he will be walking out with his title intact.

The next match kicks off with “Ice Dagger Baby” playing over the loudspeakers but as soon as he comes out from behind the curtain, he is assailed by signs from the fans that read “M.I.D.G.E.T.” (supposed to be “Make Ice Dagger Great Everywhere Today) but I think it backfired on him.  The fans laugh at him as he makes his way down to the ring.  He flips off the fans in frustration but they retaliate with chants of “Midget, Midget” and that makes him all the more pisssed.  Next, the music changes (thankfully) and out comes “Red Hot” Lucas Johnston and the fans pop HUGE for him.  He makes his way down to the ring shaking hands and hi-fiving with the fans.  ID doesn’t like it and rushes out of the ring and attacks Lucas before he could get in the ring.  He started off bouncing Lucas’ head off the steel steps.  He then hurled Lucas right into the steps.  Once he thought he had him softened up, he threw Lucas into the ring.  He climbed in and the bell rang.  After the first couple of minutes, Lucas got into his groove and took the match to Dagger.  The match went a lot longer than expected with Dagger continuing to battle back.  We join the match at the 21 minute mark.

We head to the back again and the Ambassador is backstage with his team Elitism (‘The Elitist’ Reid Rothchild and ‘Rowdy’ Roderick Rothchild).  He says that he could not be at ringside for the Steel Curtain because he does not manage Biceps Bannerman and was not going to be allowed to be in their corner for the match.  He does go on to say that Reid and Roderick are ready for this match as they’ve been training and hitting the gym now for weeks and they are as ready as they’re ever going to be.  Reid says that their time is now and they will prove to Hoff n Spicy – the tag team champs - that there is a reason they are the best in HCW right now.  Roderick adds in that it doesn’t matter what their manager tries to do, the Ambassador is a better manager than some fruit cake (Figgy Newton) and there is no doubt in their minds who will walk out as the tag champs.  Reid, Roderick and the Ambassador all put their hands on top of each other’s and the Ambassador says “Break” and they leave.

It’s time for our Hardcore title match.  Pete Punsher makes his way out to the ring first to a decent reaction from the crowd.  Next, the music from the Misfits plays and the Fiend makes his way out and down to the ring to an even bigger pop.  Finally, the Hardcore Champion himself Leon Teremoto comes out and the crowd pops even louder.  The referee asks Leon what type of rules he wants for this match.  Leon thinks about it for a moment and then says “ECW rules” and the fans pop once again.  Once the match began, the three really gave it their all.  The one who shined the brightest though was the Fiend.  He proved to the world why he was a multi-time Hardcore Champion.   The Fiend began to dominate the match taking it to both Pete and Leon.  This went on for an exciting 20 minutes before we join in the action below.

Leon Teremoto wins with a POWERBOMB over The Fiend!!!

Leon Teremoto retains the Hardcore title in what was probably his biggest challenge to date.  The fans popped for him as he was handed his title and he held it high over his head.  Pete Punsher walked over and shook Leon’s hand before leaving.  The Fiend made it to his feet and he also congratulated Leon on his win.  Leon left the ring knowing what was going to happen next.

The Fiend asked for a mic and he said he wanted to thank HCW management and the fans for 3 great years in the sport and that it was time for him to move on.  He said he was a little sad for never getting the ‘big one’ but he was always happy to represent his federation – whether it was HWF, CSWA or HCW as its Hardcore Champion but not it’s time for him to evaluate his future and what’s next for him.  He sets down the mic and leaves as the fans chant “Thank you Fiend”.  He makes it to the stage and turns to wave one final time and then he leaves.

We go backstage one final time with manager Figgy Newton and the World Tag Team Champions Hoff n Spicy (Davis Hoffmeister and DJ CJ Spice).  Figgy says that he gets Winger on Sunday but tonight it will be all about the champs.  DJ says that he’s been around for a few years having had multiple “faces” but DJ is by far his favorite.  He says he’s teamed up with perhaps the best pound for pound man there is in HCW today.  Together, they are the tag team champs and after tonight, nothing changes.  Davis takes over and says he doesn’t know who the mystery person is who been carrying around the “Why Davis Why?” sign but tonight, it’s not important.  What is important is defending and retaining these titles.  They will continue to dominate the tag team scene and keep their spot at the top of the heap.  Teams will come and go but they are the best until someone else can prove him wrong.

It’s time for our MAIN EVENT.  First, the Ambassador makes his way out and introduces Elitism – ‘the Elitist’ Reid Rothchild and ‘Rowdy’ Roderick Rothchild.  The crowd pops for them as they make their way down to the ring.  They enter the ring and psyche up the crowd.  Next, Figgy Newton comes out and he introduces the TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS – Hoff n Spicy!  The crowd explodes with the loudest pop of the night as Davis and DJ come out and they, along with Figgy, head down to the ring.  The champs enter the ring and give their opponents a glancing look before climbing the turnbuckles to the deafening pop from the crowd.  Finally, they get done with their showboating and are ready to kick this one off.  Before the match can begin, GM Max McGillicutty came out and said that with two managers at ringside, things can get volatile so he wants a winner in this match so he’s making it a no DQ/CO match.  The champs dominated the match for a whopping 20 minutes.  Things then went sour when that sign guy came in from the crowd and attacked Davis beating him down.  While that went on, Elitism took DJ out of the ring and hit him with a double powerbomb through the Spanish announcers table first and put him through the second one.  DJ is out.  The sign guy, after beating down on Davis, then rolled him back into the ring.  Right before Elitism got back into the ring, ‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger showed up at ringside and hopped the barrier and chased Figgy all the way to the back.  We join the action at the 21 minutes mark.

Thanks for reading.  We’ll be back tomorrow with day 2 of “Apocalypse”.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #631 - FANFEST

Hello fans and welcome to HCW’s Fanfest here in (cold) Colorado Springs, Colorado.  It’s a sunny day but if you’re not dressed warm enough, the chill may get to you.  One place it’s not cold – FANFEST.   The event is sold out.  Wrestlers from both the Tacoma and Phoenix brands are here interacting with the fans however some (Ant Graham and his Ghouls – Dr. Red Fang, Mason the Mangler and Covfefe) are mocking the fans as they walk by so they’re not getting much in the way of foot traffic.  The Ambassador’s two teams Elitism (Reid and Roderick Rothchild & Ravishing Raquel) were seated separately from the Steel Curtain (Buzz and Starbuck Steel).  Even though the Curtain are not on the best of terms with their fans, they had a decent amount of people show up for pictures and autographs (gluttons for punishment?).

We also saw that “Sign Guy” walking around the fanfest with a picket sign reading “Why Davis Why?”

For the most part, except for the Ghouls and the Unknown Assassin (and his manager J C Dykes), everyone was on their best behavior.  Southern Belle was a few tables down from her PPV opponent the Duchess so those sitting in between could feel the tension.  The returning El Gato Negro had a huge line at her table.  The tag team champs Hoff n Spicy (Davis ‘the Hoff’ Hoffmeister and DJ CJ Spice) also had a solid fan base waiting for autos and pics.  Ice Dagger had a sign at his table that read “Make Ice Dagger Great Everywhere Today”.

The event ran for a good 8 hours with most fans getting what they wanted.  After the convention ended, the wrestlers packed up and started to make their way up to Denver for this weekend’s show.  A few of the wrestlers hung out at local restaurants and bars to interact more with their fans.

That’s all we have for today.  We’ll be back on Friday for Day 1 of our Apocalypse PPV.  Stay Tuned!

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #630 (12/10) – Tacoma Thunder

Hello fans and welcome back to the final show before next week’s PPV – Apocalypse.  15 matches have already been announced with the final ones expected to be announced today.

As pyro goes off kicking off the show, the camera man catches the sign guy in the audience still holding his “Why Davis Why?” sign.  We still have not figured out who this person is and why he’s carrying that particular sign.

The show begins with Madame Jade, Scarlett Phoenix and Starr Vixen all heading to the ring.  They get on the mic and say that they’ve heard some grumblings backstage about a challenge and invited those who have asked to come out and make that challenge in person.  Lexy Flexx and the Cummings Twins (Betsy & Felicia) come out.  Lexy says that she’s moved to the A brand but is still treated like a B player.  She and the twins challenge Jade, Scarlett and Starr to a match at the PPV which is accepted.  Lexy and the twins leave and so do Jade and Scarlett so that Starr can have her match.

Lady Hermann makes her way out and down to the ring for her match against Starr.   Lady Hermann immediately clips Starr’s knee and she goes down in pain.  Lady Hermann then locked in the Figure 8 leg lock and Starr tapped out almost immediately.  Lady Hermann gets the win via submission in only one minute.  She boasts about the quick win and says she’ll do the same to Kimberly Kiccass but her speech is interrupted when Kimberly rushes down to the ring and attacks her and the two women end up fighting all the way to the back.

World Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine is there and he tells us he will be in a non-title match tonight.   He looks forward to the challenge and then defending his title at the PPV.

We go back to the ring for our next match.  First, Billy Robbins makes his way out to a pop from the crowd.  Next, ‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger comes out to an even bigger pop and heads to the ring.  He gives a big goofy grin to his “#1 fan” and gets into the ring.  Right off the bat, Billy hits a slingshot smash but when he went to follow up on it, he charged at Winger who, in his dazed state, pulled down the top rope and Billy went flying over the top rope landing hard on the steel steps before rolling to a stop against the ringside barrier.  Billy was too out of it to make it back in the ring before the 10 count and we have ANOTHER match ending in short fashion.  Winger gets the win via countout in only 30 seconds.  As he was celebrating, Figgy Newton came out with a mic and began to plead with Winger to cancel the match.  He said that as a manager, he has no in-ring experience and can’t be expected to perform like an established performer.  Winger takes a mic and tells Newton that karma can be a bitch and at the PPV, Newton gets his.  Figgy walked off again with his head held low.

Ant Graham is backstage and says that he’s pissed that GM Master Bull put his team in a match they haven’t been able to scout but says they will be prepared and nothing will stop their dominance.  Tonight, everyone’s favorite vampire Dr. Red Fang will be in singles action and he will destroy anyone and anything in his path as he gets ready for the PPV.

The next match on the card begins with Hangman #3 already in the ring.  Next, Wendell Hammerschmidt makes his way down and gets in the ring.  Hangman #3 attacks Wendell early choking him on the top rope trying to weaken his neck.  He continued to work on the neck of Wendell with facelocks and neck wrenches.  This one saw Wendell connect with the Red Arrow a few times but he was unable to capitalize on it.  As the match neared the conclusion (we’re 18 minutes in), Hangman #3 locks in a cobra neck wrench and it must have been excruciatingly painful as Wendell ended up tapping out.  Hangman #3 gets the win vis submission.  Both men leave the ring separately.

The Crocodile Hunter is backstage and is told he gets to main event against Sonic Blade and one of them will get a shot at the Unknown Assassin’s US title.  He’s confident that ‘the land down under’ will be well represented at the PPV.

For the next match, Adam Jameson comes out first to a pop from the crowd.  Next, blaring over the loud speakers we hear “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE!” and out comes manager Ant Graham and Dr. Red Fang.  The two head to the ring to booing from the fans.  For the first 9 minutes of the match, AJ had control but after Graham stuck his nose (and cane) into the match, things started going the way of the evil vampire.  Graham got involved again shoving the ref but was for whatever reason, not disqualified.  AJ then hurled Fang out of the ring and Fang decided he’d had enough and began walking off.  He purposely got counted out awarding AJ the win via countout.  As Fang was half the way up the ramp, music hits and out runs a very buff @Jowsterguy.  He immediately starts taking the fight to Fang and Graham motions to the back and out comes Mason the Mangler and Covfefe who help Fang and beat down the IT specialist.  No time is wasted as the Steel Curtain (Buzz and Starbuck Steel) and Biceps Bannerman come out and end up chasing off Graham’s Ghouls.  The Curtain and Biceps stayed in hot pursuit of the Ghouls chasing them not only to the back but out of the building as Graham had commandeered a car and he and his team took off like a bunch of scardy-cats.  (17 ½ min for the match; 5 extra for the segment)

J C Dykes and the Unknown Assassin are backstage and they are pissed that GM Max McGillicuty is keeping them off TV.  Dykes says UA will continue to bring pain and suffering to HCW.

We are ready for our next match.  First, we hear the music “Ice Dagger Baby” playing (more like irritating) through the speakers.  He is booed as he heads down to the ring.  Next, the music changes and the World Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine makes his way out to the loudest pop of the night.  Drew was a little rough out of the gate but after a few minutes in, he totally shone like the champion he is dominating his challenger (165 to 78). Ice Dagger wouldn’t just lay down though and he took the fight to the champ.  The match ended up going to the time limit and the match ended in a draw.  Ice Dagger, beaten, left as Drew celebrated with the fans.  As Drew was making his way around the ring hi-fiving the fans, he rounded the corner and out of nowhere the Ragin Cajun Rad Gumbo was there and attacked Drew beating him down.  He dragged him into the ring and hit Drew with the Crawdad Crunch.  Drew was out and Rad stood over him as the fans booed him.  He picked up the World title and held it high before dropping it on Drew and leaving.  The refs came out and helped Drew up and to the back.

GM Max McGillicutty is in his office and he’s conducting a video conference with Phoenix GM Master Bull.  Max tells Bull he thinks they’re ready and looks forward to meeting up in Colorado later this week.  He tells Bull he has one last thing to take care of and then they’ll be done.

It’s time for our main event.  First, the Crocodile Hunter comes out and gets a huge pop from the crowd.   He enters the ring and climbs the turnbuckles as the crowd pops.  Next, Sonic Blade makes his way out and the fans pop equally for him.  He gets in the ring and passes by Croc as he climbs the turnbuckles and the fans pop.  The two meet in the center of the ring and stare at each other.  Sonic extends his hand and Croc shakes it as the bell rings starting this one off.  The two men fought like everything was on the line and the fans applauded them both all the way.  15 minutes in, Sonic hits a tilt a whirl arm drag and Croc hits an inverted lungblower but then the Unknown Assassin hits the ring attacking both men bringing this one to a no contest.  UA beats both men down but then Croc and Sonic team up and dispose UA from the ring.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says that Dykes and the Unknown Assassin just don’t seem to learn.  Max says that since UA attacked both men, then both men will challenge UA for the US title.  Dykes throws a tantrum on the outside of the ring and Sonic and Croc seem to be content with the outcome.  With that, the show comes to an end.

The fanfest is up next followed by the PPV.  Stay Tuned.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #629 (12/06) – Phoenix Heat

Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of HCW’s Phoenix Heat.  Tonight, GM Master Bull is expecting 3 more matches to be announced for our upcoming PPV bringing the total to 15!!

Backstage, we see Southern Belle watching the Duchess’ promo from the Tacoma show.  After it ends, Belle laughs “A giant?  More like a gnat.  I’ll swat you like the insect you are and grind you under my heel.  You are nothing, you will never amount to anything.  Watch my match tonight to see what you’ve got coming.”

Tonight is the final Heat show before they break for the PPV.  The next time we’ll see them will be at the Fanfest on the 12th and then at the PPV that starts on 12/15.

The show begins with the 5th Column (Baron von Blood & Oswald Zimmerman) making their way out to the ring yelling back at the fans who are booing them (which is pretty much everyone in the audience).  They get in the ring and make obscene gestures to the fans and that only riles them up even more.  Music hits and out comes Ghee Buttersnaps and Ovaltine Jackson.  They, unlike their opponents tonight, get a huge pop from the crowd as they make their way down to the ring.  The Column immediately attacks them as they enter the ring and it takes a few moments for the ref to regain control and then officially starts the match.  Ghee and Ovaltine battled right back after recovering from the sneak attack and owned the Column from practically bell to bell.  The fans continued to pop for Ghee and Ovaltine as they owned their opponents.  The bell eventually rang bringing this one to a draw finish and Baron and Oswald didn’t care for the finish so they attacked Ghee and Ovaltine after the bell.  Ghee & Ovaltine fought them off and Baron and Oswald took off like scalded dogs.  Ghee gets on the mic and tells the Column that if they are really that interested in continuing to get their asses kicked, they’d be happy to oblige at the PPV.  Baron and Oswald accepted as they backup the ramp.  (20 min draw)

Back in GM Master Bull’s office, his tranquility is disrupted in a big way when the (loudmouth) manager Ant Graham barged into Bull’s office bragging about how great his team (Graham’s Ghouls – Dr. Red Fang, Mason the Mangler and Covfefe) the Six Man Tag Team Champs are and how they are undefeated since winning the titles.  Bull gets pissed and tells Graham that he’s been holding off making an announcement about who will be facing his team for the belts but now is as good a time as any.  Graham snorts in derision but his demeanor changes once it’s announced they will be taking on the Steel Curtain and Biceps Bannerman.  Graham began to stutter and Bull got up and directed Graham to the door before closing it in his face.  Bull smiles as he goes to sit back at his desk.

We head to the ring for our next match.  First, Dude USA Mick Rude makes his way out to a pop from the crowd.  Next, Perfect Pecs Stoddard comes out and is booed as he makes his way to the ring.  He threatened to hit a few fans along the way.  As the match began, Pecs took Rude out of the ring, picked him up and rammed Dude’s back against the steel post multiple times showcasing his strength.  He then threw Dude USA back in the ring and continued to work on Rude’s back.  Rude held in there even though his offense was limited kicking out of Pec’s pin attempts.  18 minutes in, Rude began to “hulk up” getting the fans behind him but Pec’s hit a low blow and followed it up with an Irish Curse backbreaker.  He folded Rude up like a package and got the 1-2-3.  Perfect Pecs Stoddard gets the win in domination fashion.  He left the ring as Dude USA had to be helped to the back.  (18 min)

GM Master Bull says that he’s going to put Pete Punsher in a match against the Fiend with the winner challenging Leon Teremoto for the Hardcore title.  That match will be coming up later in the show.

Sarona Reiher makes her way down to the ring for the next match.  Next, Ravishing Raquel comes out and the fans pop for her.  She has a confident and determined look on her face as she’s taking this one seriously.  Sarona challenges Raquel to put her money in the bank contract on the line and Raquel agrees.  The two women fought tooth and nail hitting some high spots that got the fans to get out of their seats.  The women battled back and forth and things went Sarona’s way after she choked (multiple times) Raquel on the top rope.  Raquel wouldn’t give up and took the match all the way to a 20 minute draw.  The match ends in a tie and Raquel retains her MITB title match.   Sarona tried to forcibly take the briefcase but when Raquel unexpectantly let it go, it flew and smacked Sarona right in the face knocking her out.  Raquel picked up the briefcase and left the ring to a pop from the crowd.  Sarona regained consciousness a few moments later and then made her way to the back.  (20 min draw)

Manager J C Dykes and the (TV/US) champ the Unknown Assassin entered Master Bull’s office demanding to be on today’s show.  Bull surprisingly put up little resistance and said that UA gets the main event tonight.  Dykes is elated.  Bull says that UA has to put the TV title on the line tonight and it will be against Biceps Bannerman.  Dykes went from elation to pissed-off and he and UA stormed out of Bull’s office.  Bull sits back down, takes a deep breath and smiles.

We head back to the ring for another qualifying match.  The winner of this one gets to challenge Leon Teremoto for the Hardcore title.  First, the champ comes out to a pop from the crowd and goes to sit at commentary to scout this match.  Next, the Fiend comes out to a huge pop from the crowd.  Finally, Pete Punsher makes his way out and the crowd is still unsure about him.  Pete started off strong and kept the offensive up but the longer the match went, it began to favor the veteran the Fiend.  As the last minute of the match began to run out, the Fiend hit Pete with the Project 1950 but before he could go for the pin, the bell rang bringing this one to a draw finish.  Both men looked at each other and looked like they could continue to go but the match was over and no opponent had been decided upon.  As Pete and the Fiend began to leave, Leon got on the mic and said that both competitors deserved to go to the PPV so he told them he would defend his hardcore title in a triple threat match.  The fans popped at the announcement and both men shook Leon’s hand in acceptance.  The Fiend took the mic and declared that he would defeat Leon and win the title or he will retire.

Biceps Bannerman is backstage and says that even though he will be in the corner of the Steel Curtain when challenging for the 6 man titles, tonight, he takes the masked man down a notch and takes something near and dear to him…the TV title.

The next match begins with El Gato Negro making her way down to the ring and the fans pop for her.  She gets in the ring but her music is cut off abruptly and Southern Belle comes out.  Belle mocks how bad she’ll beat El Gato Negro tonight and then will go to the PPV and force the Duchess into retirement. Belle heads down to the ring and mocks that she’ll dispose of her like yesterday’s garbage.  El Gato begins to pace in the ring.  Belle immediately attacks her throwing her into the ringpost.  As the bell rang, she began wrapping El Gato’s limbs against the steel post – both arms followed by both legs at the knee.  Belle began dismantling El Gato dominating the match (163 to 57) but El Gato would not stay down.  She managed to break every pin attempt by either making it to the ropes or kicking out of it.  Just when it looked like this one was going to go the distance, El Gato threw Belle out of the ring.  Belle began pacing on the outside.  El Gato asked the ref for help and was distracted.  From the crowd, the Duchess ran in and attacked Belle as the fans popped.  Duchess threw Belle into the steel steps.  She then hit Belle with the All Hail Her Majesty and then took off through the crowd.  The ref began counting and reached 10 before Belle could get back into the ring.  El Gato gets the win via countout decision at the 19 minute mark. Belle was on the outside and she was pissed off.  She mumbled and grumbled all the way to the back.  El Gato celebrated with the fans briefly before making her way to the back.

Master Bull is back in his office and makes a decree that if UA loses the title tonight, instead of his match being a triple threat match, it will turn into a 2 on 1 match so he’d better hope he retains tonight.

It’s time for our main event.  First, Biceps Bannerman comes out and gets a pop from the crowd.  Next, manager J C Dykes comes out and introduces the TV Champion the Unknown Assassin.  They both wait on the stage as security comes out lining the ramp to protect them from the unruly fans.  They head down as the fans boo and hiss at them.  Dykes claims that this match will be no DQ.  The two men go toe to toe and beat the holy hell out of each other.  Even with Dykes’ influence, it wasn’t enough to squash Bannerman’s offense.  All of a sudden, manager Ant Graham and Graham’s Ghouls (Dr. Red Fang, Mason the Mangler and Covfefe) walk down to the ring. Dykes hands Graham a wad of cash.  The Ghouls hit the ring and in conjunction with UA, they beat down on Bannerman.  Music hits and out comes the Steel Curtain (Buzz and Starbuck Steel) and as they rush the ring (the fans cheer just a tag for them) and they grab chairs and begin beating back the Ghouls chasing all 3 and their manager to the back.  Unknown Assassin picks up a weary Biceps who locks in a Biceps Crunch but UA powers out of it and hits a Fireman’s Carry Roll.  He rolls through hooking the leg and getting the 1-2-3.  The Unknown Assassin retains his title and the fans are very unhappy.  Dykes joins him in the ring and hands him the TV title.  Both men celebrate as the show comes to an end.

Tacoma has one more show before they are done before the PPV.  The PPV live from Denver, Colorado is 100% sold out so order it now on pay per view to ensure you get in on the action.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #628 – Tacoma Thunder

Hello fans and welcome back to the latest installment of HCW’s Tacoma Thunder.  We have a great card lined up for  you tonight with a main event headlined by El Chango taking on Phat Sol with the winner getting a shot at the TV champion the Unknown Assassin at the PPV.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out to a pop from the crowd.  He tells us that 50% of the matches for this month’s PPV Apocalypse have been announced and 3 more matches will be revealed tonight.  He thanks the fans for coming and leaves the stage as pyro goes off getting this show underway.

The first match kicks off with ‘Bad News’ Marvin Barnes coming out to booing from the crowd.  He threatened to hit a few fans on his way to the ring.  Next, his opponent Brick comes out to a pop from the crowd.  The match progressed slowly as Brick was wrestling his way through the match.   About 12 minutes into the match, Brick went to the top rope but Marvin grabbed the ropes (presumably to help himself up but in fact was putting Brick off balance) and Brick fell off the turnbuckle to the floor.  Brick looked like he got hurt and was taking his time trying to walk it off and he ended up getting counted out.  Barnes left the ring after getting his arm raised.  All of a sudden, Scooter J, Otto Ruthless and King Wilber Townsend all hit the ring and beat down Brick.  The Axe and TNT run down for the save and chase SJ and his buddies off.  Axe takes a mic and tells them that he is officially accepting their challenge for the PPV and says they’ll meet at the PPV.  Axe helps Brick up and the three of them leave the ring to a pop from the crowd.  (12 ½ min)

Backstage, Ice Dagger purposely bumps into ‘Red Hot’ Lucas Johnston and he (pointing to his imaginary friend) says “He doesn’t like you.”  Lucas says “Ok” (seeing where this was going).  ID gets into Lucas’ face “I don’t like you either.  You better watch yourself.  I’m the biggest man on this campus”.  Lucas makes a goofy face and says “Ohhh, I guess I’d better be careful.”  He began to chuckle.  ID screams “You’ll be DEAD!” and then attacks Lucas beating him down.    The fight is broken up by security and Lucas challenges ID to a match at the PPV and he accepts.

We head back to the ring and Bishop Ripley makes his way down to the ring and doesn’t get the best of reactions from the crowd.  Next, ‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger comes out to a huge pop from the crowd.  He gets in the ring and the two begin battling almost immediately.  6 minutes in, Winger hits Bishop with a steamroller but Ripley hurls Winger out of the ring.  Top Gun dusts himself off and starts to get back in the ring but he is attacked once again by Figgy Newton who drops him with multiple chair shots.  Bishop distracted the ref long enough until Figgy was done and then Newton took off through the crowd.  The ref turned around and saw Winger down and out on the outside of the ring.  He made the count and reached 10 and counted Winger out awarding the match to Bishop Ripley.  Winger finally made it to his feet and he was pissed.  He slowly made his way to the back.

Axe is backstage with his tag team partner TNT and says they are ready to stand by Brick and take on Scooter J and his buddies but they know Scooter J and how he thinks so they’ll be ready.

We’re ready for the next match.  First, the Smashers come down first and are booed by the crowd.  Next, Ovaltine Jackson & Ghee Buttersnaps come out to a pop from the crowd.  Once in the ring, the Smashers attack Ovaltine and Ghee but they fought back taking the match to the Smashers.   The Smashers controlled the entire match but they couldn’t get a pin at all.  Ovaltine and Ghee broke up all of the pin attempts and were saved once the bell rang bringing this one to a time limit draw.  The Smashers weren’t happy and stormed off as Ghee and Ovaltine celebrated with the fans (20 min draw)

GM Max McGillicutty is in his office and Figgy Newton enters.  Max tells Figgy that he was caught in the act of attacking Top Gun Justin Winger and threatens to suspend him leaving his charges high and dry.  Figgy begins to plead “Not that…I’ll do anything”.  Max questioned “Anything?”  “Yes, anything” Figgy responded.  Into the room walks Winger as Max makes the match Top Gun vs Figgy Newton much to Winger’s delight.  Figgy goes white as a ghost and walks off with his head held low.

As the next match is ready to begin, the Ryzing Storm (Terra and Travis) make their way out.  Next, the Axe and TNT make their way out to a pop from the crowd.  Axe and TNT enjoyed a good solid offensive run until Scooter J, King Wilber and Otto Ruthless came out causing a distraction.  After the ref took a bump, Scooter J and his cronies hit the ring beating both TNT and Axe down with chairs.  Brick ran out to make the save chasing everyone off.  However the damage was done and just as the ref was waking back up, Terra Ryzing hits TNT with a facebreaker knee smash.  He hooks the leg getting the 1-2-3.  The Ryzing Storm gets a win and Axe is pissed off.  He helps TNT to his feet and they head to the back.  (19 min)

Phat Sol is backstage and he says that tonight, he takes on a great competitor in El Chango but it will be he who has his arm raised and he can finally get that rematch for the TV title he’s been waiting for.

We go back to the ring as the next match kicks off.  First, the Duchess comes out to a mixed reaction from the crowd however, it seems that she’s receiving more respect from the fans.  Next, Lexy Flexx comes out and she is booed.  She enters the ring and immediately goes after the Duchess.  Lexy then bumps the ref causing him to go down.  Next, we see Southern Belle run out and she hits the Duchess in the leg with a steel pipe.  She then rushes off as the ref begins to stir.  Lexy then locks the Duchess in the Four Leg Clover Leglock and the Duchess does the wise thing and taps out to avoid further injury to her leg.  Lexy parades around and then leaves.  (3 min)  A couple of refs come from the back and help the Duchess to the back.  As soon as she passes through the curtains, she sees a camera man and looks directly at the camera and tells Belle that she’s woken a sleeping giant and this giant will get her retribution.

It’s time for our main event.  First, El Chango comes out to a pop from the crowd.  Next, the music changes and Phat Sol makes his way out also to a pop from the crowd.  El Chango and Phat hit some high impact moves on each other and the fans stayed on the edges of their seats for the entire match.  Phat came close to a pin after hitting the Phat’s Enough but El Chango kicked out with authority. As the time was running out, El Chango hits a spear but is not able to make the cover before the bell rang bringing this one to a draw finish.  All of a sudden, the lights go out and when they come back on, the Unknown Assassin is in the ring with a chair and both Phat and El Chango are down.  UA’s manager J C Dykes was on the outside of the ring gloating about the attack but then GM Max McGillicutty comes out.  He tells Dykes and UA that this match was supposed to see who would face the Unknown Assassin for the US title but since the match ended in a draw, he’s at an impasse but thinks he has the solution and Dykes and UA’s actions just now have helped.  Max announces that at the PPV, the Unknown Assassin will defend the US title against…El Chango…AND Phat Sol.  Dykes is irate and begins screaming from the ring.  El Chango and Phat then team up and beat down on UA before he bails out of the ring.  Phat and El Chango stand tall in the ring; Max on the stage and Dykes and Unknown Assassin caught between the two as the show comes to an end.

Stay tuned as things are getting volatile.
