HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #591

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.   Well, this has been a very busy week for GM Max McGillicutty and the HCW owners as they dig deeper into the expansion of HCW into the Tacoma, WA market.  Because of all that, only one show was able to take place this week.  Hopefully next week will get back on the 2 show schedule but Max has his hands full and things may prove to be a challenge over the next few weeks.

The show starts off with a backstage vignette.  Master Bull is sitting in a room by himself singing “Nobody knows the troubles I’ve seen”.  Bull enlightens us with a story about how, at the age of 13, he would be an energetic teenager and while playing on the softball field, he would work up a thirst.  His dad would happily feed him beer.  He’s been hooked ever since.  He takes a swig of his beer and goes back to moping.

After that depressing moment, the show kicks off with a bang with pyro going off.  First, Talon McFrost comes out to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Next, over the loudspeakers blares “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE!” and out comes the hated vampire bot Dr. Red Fang along with the even more despised manager Ant Graham.    Fang snarls and growls at the fans as he makes his way down and into the ring.  Graham tells Fang to attack and attack he/it does.  Talon didn’t put up much of a fight and in just 3 minutes, Fang trapped Talon in a spider web lock and McFrost had no choice but to tap out.  Dr. Red Fang gets the win but he doesn’t let up.  He continues beating Talon down and hits him with a Vampire Lunge followed up by a Transylvania Piledriver.  Graham takes the ref out and Fang locks Talon back in the spider web lock and as Talon screamed in pain, Graham gets on the mic calling out the Fiend telling him that this will continue to happen until the good Dr gets his rematch.  Fang takes the mic and in a creepy but slow voice, says “Vampire Lunges for Everyone.”  Fang and Graham leave.

King Wilber says he’ll deal with Sonic Blade all in good time but tonight, he is defending his title against family…real family in the shape of the giant Mountain Man Junior Huber.  Wilber tells Junior he needs to do what is right for the family and expects Junior to do the ‘right thing’.

It’s time for our next match.  Terra Ryzing comes out first and is booed.  Next, Leon Teremoto makes his way out and he surprisingly gets a pop from the crowd.  Terra took the match to Leon for 12 minutes but after Leon nailed a powerbomb, the match turned into his favor and he just began to annihilate Terra.  Terra wasn’t able to get much in the way of offense.  Leon locked Terra in a Gorilla Hug and almost got the submission but Terra eye raked him and made it to the safety of the ropes.  Just as the time was getting ready to run out, Terra locked in a hammerlock and Leon hit him with a spinebuster.  He tried to go for the pin but the bell rang bringing this one to a 20 min draw.  Terra took off not wanting to deal with Leon anymore.  Leon celebrated with the fans before departing.

Backstage, Figgy Newton is with Hoff n Spicy and says that they are going to continue their winning ways when they continue to move up the tag team rankings until the Steel Curtain have no choice but to give them another title match.  Hoff and DJ then lean in and say “WORD” and then have a laugh.

We go back to the ring for our next match.  Outback Oscar comes out first to a pop from the fans.  Next, Angry Jack Lawson comes out next to a reverse reaction from the crowd.  Jack starts off with a scoop slam but Oscar reverses it going for knee lifts to the midsection but Jack reverses that and hurls Oscar out of the ring.  Oscar is back in by the 8 count.  Oscar ducks a clothesline and locks in the Outback Stretch.  Trapped in the middle of the ring and nowhere to go, Jack taps out.  2 minutes in and this one is over.  Oscar celebrates but then is blasted by Jack from behind and hurled out of the ring.  Jack storms off.  Oscar eventually makes his way to the back.

Phat Sol is backstage and runs into his former tag team partner ‘Red Hot’ Lucas Johnston.  They talk about the old days of them teaming and Chic Monroe and Bishop Ripley walk over and call them old and has-beens.  Phat ask Lucas if, for old time’s sake, they want to team up to teach these two a lesson and Lucas says “Sure, why not.”  Bishop curls his lip at them and he and Chic walk off.

Manager MJ comes out first and then introduces Perfect Pecs Stoddard and Red McNulty.  They collectively head down to the ring.  Next, Figaroa Newton comes out and he introduces Hoff n Spicy and the fans pop HUGE!  Davis Hoffmeister and DJ CJ Spice join their manager on stage and then head down to the ring.  Typically Davis starts off but DJ CJ insisted.  Right off the bat, he locked Red in a guillotine choke but Pecs made the save.  Davis then gets tagged in and nails Red with a piledriver.  He goes for the pin only getting a one count and tags back out.  Davis and DJ CJ did this for the match and it frustrated MJ and his team.  8 minutes in, Davis locks Red in a camel clutch but he doesn’t tap.  He then hit a monkey flip and rolled Red up while DJ CJ hits Pecs with a forearm shot knocking him from the apron.  The count is made and Hoff n Spicy add another win to their impressively growing winning ways.  Figgy, Hoff and DJ CJ all left the ring while MJ confronted his team in the ring.  MJ tells them that this isn’t working and that he has to let them go.  Pecs and Red push MJ down and then laugh and walk off.

Backstage, Junior Huber is with his siblings Butch and Ferb and asks what he should do about cousin Wilber.  Butch tells Junior that blood is thicker than water but obtaining GOLD is worth every drop of blood.  Ferb says that Wilber told him to do what is right (presumably to lay down without lifting a finger) but says that no Huber has ever held a World title and tonight, that becomes a strong possibility if Junior can win.

We head back to the ring as Chic Monroe and Bishop Ripley make their way out to the ring.  Even though Prestige Inc is dead and it was they who dumped Master Bull, the fans still didn’t like them.  Next, Phat Sol and ‘Red Hot’ Lucas Johnston come out to a huge pop.  The match was a true wrestling show like none other.  All 4 men gave it their all with Chic and Bishop being in control for most of the match but once Phat and Lucas figured out how to work again as a team (they’ve been doing the singles scene as of late), they really took it to Chic and Bishop to the point where they almost turned the tides.  Just as the time limit was getting ready to run out, Lucas nailed repeated dropkicks on Chic but he managed to hit a diving headbutt.  He went to make the cover but before he even got a 1 count, the bell rang bringing this one to a 30 minute draw.  Chic and Bishop left while Lucas and Phat celebrated with the fans before departing.

Master Bull makes his way to Max’s office and knocks on the door before entering.  Master Bull, with no one left to manage, asks Max if, once the split happens, if he can stay and run the Phoenix show while Max runs the Tacoma show.  Max agrees but Bull has to sign a ton of documents to ensure he doesn’t go power hungry or skim profits again (he said those days were over).

It’s time for our Main Event:  King Wilber vs Junior Huber with the World title on the line.  First, Junior Huber, a mountain of a man, comes out first and is mostly booed.  Next, King Wilber Townsend comes out and is 100% booed.  He walks down the ring to his creepy music and enters the ring.  Wilber walks over to Junior and tells him to do what is right and then steps back.  Junior looks around and then lays down in the ring.  The bell rings and Wilber makes the cover.  The ref counts (really fast) 1..2…KICKOUT!  Junior POWERS out of the pin with such force.  Wilber is astonished and can’t believe it.  Wilber asks what Junior is doing and Junior begins to just blast Wilber much to the delight of the fans.  The match then officially begins.

Referee is 'Fast Count' Frank (+1)

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #590

Hello fans and welcome back to another action paced issue of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.  We knew the show was going to be a good one when, before anything even began, there was an altercation backstage between Ladies Champion Southern Belle and Ravishing Raquel.  Both women almost came to blows with Reid pulling Raquel aside and Sonic Blade stepping in front of Belle.  GM Max McGillicutty rushes over questioning what the hell was going on.  Belle went on about how Raquel was jealous of her and tried taking her belt.  Raquel told Belle she was delusional and must have hit her head one too many times.  Max yelled “ENOUGH” but both women went at each other again.  Reid and Sonic Blade then almost came to blows.  Max got security (borrowed it from the Unknown Assassin’s entourage) in there and separated everyone.  Max then said that Raquel is being yanked out of the 6 Man tournament tonight and she was pissed.  Max says she gets to team up with her husband tonight in a mixed tag team against Southern Belle and Sonic Blade.  If Belle and Sonic lose, Belle will be stripped of her belt and Sonic will lose his title shot against King Wilber.  HOWEVER, if Reid and Raquel lose, they are OUT of HCW!  Reid tried to complain but Max walked off.

The show kicks off with our first match of the night.   Dude USA Mick Rude comes out first to a decent pop from the crowd.   Security comes out lining the ramp and the Honorable J C Dykes comes out and introduces his charge “the Once and FUTURE Champion…the Unknown Assassin”.  Dykes leads the Unknown Assassin down to the ring lined with security guards to keep the “riff-raff” away.  UA beat Mick Rude down but Dude USA started to “hulk up” when the fans began a USA…USA chant.  Dykes panicked and did what he could but Rude fought a good fight.  Finally, the bell rang bringing this one to a draw.  Dykes got on the apron and began mouthing off to Mick.  Mick grabbed him by the collar and popped him a good one.  He turned around and the Unknown Assassin blasted Mick with a knee strike and once down, began pummeling Mick with forearm shots to Mick’s eardrums.  The Unknown Assassin just blasted away and the security that was waiting for him on the ramp now ran in to protect Mick Rude.  They finally got UA off of Mick and he and Dykes stood their laughing at Rude.  They eventually left but with no security to protect them, they got hit with a LOT of flying debris.

Taking Ravishing Raquel’s place in the 6 man match will be the Axe.  He is backstage with ScooterJ and TNT.  Axe says “It’s Clobberin’ time!”  ScooterJ says that Prestige Inc got lucky at the PPV but their luck runs out tonight.

We go back to the ring for our next match which is for the 6 Man titles.  First, ScooterJ, the Axe and TNT all make their way down to a pop from the crowd.  Next, Master Bull leads Prestige Inc. (Jesse California, Chic Monroe & Bishop Ripley) to the ring and they hold their titles high.  Master Bull provides some last minute words of wisdom but is interrupted when the ref explains that this will be a No DQ/CO match with no time limit.  Bull seemed really happy about that.  He then stated that they are using strategy pin rules and he began to frown.  The challengers immediately took the match to the champs and by 15 minutes in, they had a solid lead over Prestige Inc.  Confidence running perhaps a bit too high and ScooterJ got hit by Chic’s straight jacket suplex.  Chic went for the pin but ScooterJ kicked out at the last second.  Axe and TNT joined ScooterJ in beating down Chic who tagged out to Bishop who then got triple teamed and after his beatdown, tagged Jesse in.  Jesse caught the Axe with a superkick but Axe fell out of the ring to avoid getting pinned.  ScooterJ is tagged in and Jesse goes for a standing dropkick but ScooterJ reverses it and hits a piledriver for a one count.  Both teams did some more double and triple teaming until it was just Chic vs the Axe.   Chic goes for the knee to the gut but Axe reverses it and nearly takes Chic’s head off with a forearm uppercut.  ScooterJ jumps in and hits a flying bodypress on Jesse taking him out.  TNT nailed Bishop with a spear taking him out.  Axe makes the cover and Bull watches in horror as the refs hand hits the mat 1…2…3!  Axe, ScooterJ and TNT get the win and are the NEW 6 Man Tag Team Champions!  The ref hands them their belts and they stay and celebrate as Bull and Prestige Inc. leave.  (28 min)

Master Bull is backstage and goes off on Prestige Inc.  He begins to berate them one by one and each one of them says “it is not worth it anymore” and they each quit.  Prestige Inc has just IMPLODED!  Bull stands there in total shock as the team disintegrates in front of his eyes.

Backstage, Ice Dagger is getting ready for his match when his manager Ant Graham walks over.  Ant says “Yo Ice D to the … nevermind.  Just wanted to let you know something before you went down to the ring.  YOU’RE FIRED!”  Ice Dagger looks confused.  “What?” he asks.  Ant smiles.  “You totally suck and I no longer want to manage you.  I’m firing you.  HAHA.”  Ice Dagger gets pissed and grabs Ant by the collar.  “Really?  You’re firing me?  You couldn’t manage your way out of a paper bag.  AND you disrespect me like this?  Why don’t we head down to the ring right now and settle this.”  Ant pulls away and says “Oh yeah, we’ll settle this.  Why don’t you head down now and I’ll follow momentarily.  Ice Dagger storms off.

Ice Dagger storms down to the ring and demands a mic.  “Ok you worthless sack of slime…get your ass out here now.”  Ant comes out and stands on stage.  “Oh, I didn’t mention that I am not fighting you but the newest member…and BETTER…of the Graham family will.”  Ant extends his hand in the direction of the stage and out comes…COVFEFE!  Covfefe walks to the ring with a purpose and gets in the ring.  Ice Dagger goes right at him but Covfefe beats him down.  Ice Dagger got in some good licks and even attempted to go after his former manager but Covfefe recovered enough to prevent it.  Graham then told Covfefe to go to town and he beat the HOLY HELL out of Ice Dagger.  He went for multiple pins but pulled Ice Dagger up each time.  Finally, Graham signaled for Covfefe to end it and he nailed Ice Dagger with a piledriver.  Covfefe made the cover and got the 1-2-3.  Covfefe then kicks Ice Dagger out of the ring.  Graham enters and celebrates with Covfefe before departing.  (21 min; 131 to 76)

Backstage, Master Bull approaches Reid and Raquel and says that the core team needs to stick together as it’s all falling apart.  Raquel gets in Bull’s face and tells him his services are not needed tonight as Team Elite has this one in the bag.

We go back to the ring for our next match.  Kimberly Kiccass comes out first to a decent pop from the crowd.  Next, Court member Lady Hermann comes out accompanied by the Duchess.  They walk down to the ring together but the ref stops the Duchess telling her she cannot be at ringside.  He sends her to the back before the match can begin.  Her Ladyship had control of the first few moments of the match but then Kimberly, well, kicked her ass.  Lady Hermann started a comeback that had her laying down some chops to Kim’s chest (WOOOOO) but Kimberly set her up on the top turnbuckle and then arm dragged her down to the mat with a thunderous smash.   A woozy Lady Hermann got up but Kimberly nailed her with a Toronto Slam.  Kimberly made the cover and got the 1-2-3.  Kimberly lives up to her name and stands proud in the ring as Lady Herman made her way to the back.  (15 min)

GM Max McGillicutty comes out to prepare us for our main event.  He goes over the stipulations:  If Belle and Sonic Blade lose, she loses her title and Sonic loses his future shot at the world title.  If Raquel and Reid lose, they are out of HCW.   Just on cue, Ravishing Raquel and Reid Rothchild come out first and give Max a nasty look as they head down to the ring.  Next, Sonic Blade comes out and he waits as the Ladies Champion appears on stage and they head down to the ring together.  Reid tries to start something before the bell but is sent to his corner by the ref.  Once all 4 wrestlers are in the ring, it begins with Raquel taking on Belle.  Belle and Raquel spent most of the time in the ring.  Sonic Blade came in once but Belle would tag herself back in.  Reid only came in during double teaming as Raquel told him she had this.  We join the match now at the 16 min mark.

That’s all for now.  Stay tuned for more action.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #589

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  The show begins with World Champion King Wilber Townsend walking out of GM Max McGillicutty’s office laughing.  As he walks away, the cameraman peers in and asks what that was about.  Max tells us that Texas Wildfire is getting his rematch tonight but there is a stipulation attached.  When pressed what it was, he said he was not at liberty to discuss it as his Lordship wants to make that special announcement later tonight.

Pyro goes off and our first match is ready to kick off the show.  Billy Robbins makes his way down to the ring first and then the lights go dim as Ant Graham leads Mason the Mangler down to the ring.  Mason goes right on the offensive. After two minutes, Billy took control of the match and started taking it to Mason.  Ant didn’t like this and climbed up on the ring apron.  He yelled at the ref who yelled back telling him to back down and Ant then shoved him.  The ref rings the bell awarding the match to Billy Robbins via disqualification.  Mason tried to attack him afterwards but was sent out of the ring via dropkick.  Graham, still arguing on the apron gets brought into the ring the hard way.  Graham has the look of fear in his eyes as Billy picks him up by the collar threatening to blast him but Dr. Red Fang and Ice Dagger run down and beat Billy down before he could lay a hand on the meddlesome manager.  Graham called his team together and they hastily departed after Robbins had grabbed a chair threatening to use it.  (5 min for the match; 5 for the additional segment)

We’re backstage with three members of Prestige Inc.:  Manager Master Bull, Reid Rothchild and the NEW Elitist Champion Ravishing Raquel.  Raquel says that she proved that a woman can do anything a man can and (holds the Elitist title) this is the proof.  However, to avoid any future tension with her husband Reid, she is RETIRING the belt.  (Reid and Bull are flabbergasted).  Raquel then turns to Bull and says that he has been nothing but toxic for Reid and her and tonight, she throws out the challenge that she will be teaming with ScooterJ and TNT to challenge Prestige Inc for the 6 Man titles.  Bull flips out.  Reid questions what she is doing but she smiles and leaves.  Reid and Bull go after her.

Our next match is ready to kick off as Ant Graham leads Ice Dagger down to the ring (to his horrendous musak (Ice Dagger Baby).  Thankfully the tune comes to an end when Mr. Wrestling #5 makes his way out and down to the ring.  The fans pop.  Graham got in some cheap hits that he paid the price for when MW5 turned the tables on him.  5 had the match mostly in control and the end came after MW5 powered out of the Yukon Cloverleaf and caught Ice Dagger with an elbow smash.  MW5 made the cover and got the 3 count.  Mr. Wrestling #5 wins the match and now Graham is 0-2 for the night.  Graham and Ice Dagger depart as MW5 celebrates with the fans before departing.  (17 min)

Backstage, Figgy Newton is with Hoff n Spicy (Davis Hoffmeister and DJ CJ Spice) and says that the World Tag Team Champs can continue to run and hide but they will continue to pursue.  The only way to do that is to continue to challenge the roster and make a name for themselves.  Davis says that tonight, they are challenging the Smashers for their shot in the Tag Team line up.  DJ CJ adds in that once they defeat them, the so called champs won’t be able to overlook them…again.

Match #3 is ready to begin.  The Duchess makes her way out first and is booed.  She doesn’t care.   Her opponent comes out next and it’s Scarlett Phoenix and she gets a pop from the crowd that and seems to infuriate the Duchess.  In the beginning, Scarlett looked strong but then the Duchess kicked things into high gear and started to own the match.  About 10 minutes in, Scarlett hit the Black Widow and things started to change in her favor.  The Duchess began to panic as Scarlett’s offense got stronger and stronger.  She then motioned to the back and Lady Hermann, a member of her Court, came out.  The Duchess tossed Scarlett out of the ring and then distracted the ref.  Lady Hermann attacked Scarlett beating her down.  She hopped the railing and hid from sight.  The ref began to count and once he reached 10 and Scarlett wasn’t’ able to make it back in, he awarded the match to the Duchess via countout.  Duchess paraded around the ring and then was joined by Lady Hermann and the two celebrated and mocked the fans before leaving.  (17 ½ min)

5th Column member Karl Braun came out and was spouting some anti-US rhetoric when Phat Sol came out.  Phat told Braun to shut it and was challenging him right now for his spot in the TV title line up.  Braun, not happy with the interruption, said he’d be happy to oblige and will continue his rant once he disposes of this RUNT.  Phat was on fire and all the “USA” chants he got kept Braun off his game.  Phat fought out of a Gestapo Drop and nailed Karl with a bodyslam.  Phat made the cover and the 3 count arrived (maybe a little sooner than expected) and Phat Sol gets the win.  Phat is now the #1 contender for Biceps Bannerman’s TV title.  We wish him good luck.  (10 min)

Texas Wildfire is backstage and says that tonight, he gets his rematch.  He can’t believe he underestimated Wilber and Sonic and thought having Drew the Canadian Love Machine in his corner was going to make a difference.  He knows Drew has a lot on his mind right now so he feels bad for putting him in that spot.  TW says he will not underestimate Wilber again and that confidence will bring the World title back to him.

We go back to the ring for our next match.  Figaroa ‘Figgy’ Newton comes out first and introduces Hoff n Spicy who come out to a huge pop from the crowd.  The three make their way down to the ring.  Next, defending their ‘spot’ are the Smashers (Smasher #1 and #2).   They look angry enough to inflict some serious damage.  The Smashers were owning their challengers until the Tag Team Champions the Steel Curtain (Buzz and Starbuck Steel) came out and stood on the ramp scouting.  Hoff n Spicy then kicked it into high gear and began taking it to the Smashers.  Just as the 30 minute time limit was going to be reached, the Curtain made their way down to the ring.  That is when all hell broke loose.  Starbuck and Buzz decided to interfere going after Davis and Smasher #1.  Smasher #2 was busy choking DJ CJ in the corner and then Figgy JUMPED into the ring and HOPPED on Smasher #2’s back!   Smasher #2 was thrashing around like a wild bronco trying to get Figgy off his back.  Finally he flung him off and was thankfully caught by CJ.  The DJ extraordinaire then slapped a guillotine choke on Smasher #2.  Davis and Buzz slugged it out while Smasher #1 beat down on Starbuck.  The Curtain’s manager the Ambassador finally made it down and got Starbuck a steel chair that he used on Smasher #1.  Buzz left Davis and went after Smasher #1 and DJ CJ.  Davis recovered and caught a charging Starbuck with a dropkick and he took the chair to the face.   Buzz hurled Smasher #2 from the ring and then hit CJ with the Buzzkill.  Smasher #2 got back in and hit Buzz with the Fall of Man.  Davis got in the ring and hit Smasher #1 with a missile dropkick.  Davis helped up DJ and the two stood back to back with the Curtain on opposite sides of the ring and the Smashers on the other (one on each side of the ring).  Max then came out and quickly put an end to this.  Max says he doesn’t appreciate the Curtain interfering in other matches and says that the next title defense will be Iron Man style and will be against BOTH the Smashers AND Hoff n Spicy!  The Curtain are livid but Max walks off.  Eventually all the team left.  (30 min for the match; 10 additional for the segment)

King Wilber, the World Champion, calls over his lackey Sonic Blade and tells him he has some news for him.  Wilber tells Sonic (and us) that Texas Wildfire has demanded his rematch tonight for the World title.  Wilber says he’s takin’ it one further.  Wilber got Sonic Blade to be the special guest referee in tonight’s match.  Wilber tells Sonic that if he calls it ‘the right way’, Wilber will grant him his freedom.  If he does not, he will be part of the ‘family’ until the day he dies.  Wilber walks away laughing while a stoic Sonic Blade looks on.  Max walks up to him and hands him a piece of paper and the ref’s shirt and walks away.  Sonic reads it and smiles.

It’s time for our MAIN EVENT.  Sonic Blade comes out first dressed in a referee’s shirt.  Next, Texas Wildfire comes out to the loudest pop of the night.  Next, the World Champion King Wilber Townsend comes out and he’s on a throne and being carried to the ring by other lackeys.  Wilber gets into the ring and does a proud processional flaunting his title in TW’s face.   Wilber begins to remove his robe and Sonic calls for the bell.  Wilber looks a bit perturbed as he wasn’t ready.  Wilber connected with the GTS early on and Sonic made a slow count much to the dismay of Wilber.  Wilber threatened Sonic to “do it right”.  TW nailed a leaping DDT and Sonic made a fast count but Wilber kicked out.  Wilber threatened Sonic again.  By the 10 minute mark, it looked like TW was going to regain his belt but after getting hurled out of the ring and then having his back slammed against the steel post, his offense became limited.  Wilber would hit the GTS and then when making a pin, he would yank on TW’s hair pulling him up at the last minute laughing.  This went on for a couple of more minutes.  We join the match now at the 13 minute mark.

King Wilber Townsend wins with a HAMMERING BLOWS TO BACK over Texas Wildfire!!!

King Wilber retains his belt in true cheating fashion.  While Wilber is celebrating, Sonic Blade takes a mic and reminds Wilber that HE was the one who put Sonic in this position of authority and guess what, Wilber put his hands on an official.  Sonic says that as the official, he has the authority to reverse the match, disqualify Wilber or even strip him of his title.   Sonic says he played Wilber’s game and is now free from the family HOWEVER, he is NOT done with Wilber.  Sonic Blade then attacks and beats down on Wilber who had to flee from the ring to avoid further punishment.  Blade then says his last duty as a referee (under the authority granted to him by the GM) is to name Wilber’s next opponent and will be none other that HIM!
The fans pop and a bewildered Wilber looks on and Sonic stands tall in the ring with his arms raised.

With that, the show comes to an end.  Stay tuned as there is more action to come.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #588

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  Well, the PPV brought us a lot of surprises with the biggest one being Ravishing Raquel defeating her husband ‘The Elitist’ Reid Rothchild for the Elitist title.  We also some of the titles change hands with King Wilber Townsend defeating first champion Texas Wildfire and then getting a cheap win over Drew the Canadian Love Machine.

After the show went off the air, Drew was backstage looking for King Wilber and he was attacked by Super Shockmaster.  SS beat Drew down telling him not to “overlook the Super Shockmaster”.  Those two will meet tonight.  Also meeting tonight is Southern Belle and El Gato Negro fighting over the held up title from the PPV.

The show begins with a bloodied and bandaged up Magnum Kone power walking down to the ring.  He says that the monster known as Covfefe has attacked him again.  Magnum says he’s tired of it and says he’s heading to the ring and wants Covfefe to face him man to man.  Covfefe no-shows.  He knows he’s here so he leaves to go look for him.

Just before our first match can begin, the World Champion King Wilber Townsend comes out and goes to sit at commentary. He says he wants to see Drew in action against a much bigger opponent.   The Super Shockmaster comes out first and the crowd boos him.   Next, Drew the Canadian Love Machine comes out and gets a huge pop from the crowd.  He is determined so makes a beeline for the ring.  SS bails laughing as Drew stews in the ring.  Drew gets on the mic and tells SS that he is tired of him getting into his business (and others) and says it’s time for him to leave.  SS takes a mic and tells Drew that if he is so confident, they should make this a loser leaves town match where the loser MUST leave HCW.  Drew…agrees!  SS gets back in the ring laughing and the bell rings.

Both men battled hard but a distraction from King Wilber Townsend allowed Super Shockmaster to hit Drew with an illegal headbutt.  This brought out Sonic Blade.  Sonic stopped the ref from making the count.  Wilber and Super Shockmaster looked on in confusion and that allowed Drew to hit SS with a corkscrew pescado.  Drew made the cover (Wilber tried to interfere but Sonic stopped him) and got the 1-2-3.  Drew the Canadian Love Machine gets the win and now Super Shockmaster has to leave.  SS tried to attack Drew again but the ref stopped him.  Drew managed to get a hold of SS’s helmet and yanked it off of SS’s head.  SS covered his face with his hands and ran from the ring screaming “this isn’t the last you’ll see of me”.  Drew then glared at King Wilber who made a hasty departure.  Before Sonic left, he reached under the ring and gave him a sledgehammer.  Drew took it and SMASHED SS’s helmet in hundreds of pieces much to the delight of the fans.  Drew stares at Wilber who remained on stage.  Wilber began to chastise Sonic but Sonic kept walking and Wilber was flabbergasted.  He eventually left.  Drew celebrated with the fans before departing also. (7 min for the match; 5 extra for the additional segment)

Hoff n Spicy are backstage and they question why their match ended on a CO and wasn’t restarted but the Ladies was.  Regardless, they went toe to toe with the champs and held their own and now the Curtain can’t stand someone upstaged them.   Hoff says that if they want to get even, all they have to do is put those belts on the line in a no DQ/CO match.  DJ calls the champs cowards and says that if they want something done, they will do it themselves.

A promo is cut by the Honorable J C Dykes and he says that the ‘man’ graces HCW with his presence tonight.  Dykes tells HCW that security better be up to snuff or there will be hell to pay.

We head back to the ring and returning from a brief hiatus is Pete Punsher (no longer calling himself the PUN-isher).  Pete was able to convince the institution that he was indeed playing a character and that he wasn’t crazy (although others would tell you differently).   His opponent comes out and it’s the monster known as Covfefe.  Pete has a look on his face that screams “Really?”  Covfefe gets in the ring and immediately goes after Pete.  Covfefe beat down on Pete and was wiping the mat with him.  Covfefe nailed a Black Hole Slam and then hurled Pete out of the ring.  Pete wasn’t able to make it back in and got counted out.  Covfefe gets the win.  Just then, the lights go out and when they come back on a few seconds later, Magnum Kone is in the ring but Covfefe is gone.  Magnum is pissed he missed him again.  He looks under the ring but then suddenly goes limp.  He gets dragged under the ring and then a few seconds later, Covfefe makes his way out from under the ring.  He laughs as he makes his way to the back.  Some shirts come out and pull a bloody Magnum Kone out.  You almost can’t see his face through the crimson mask he is wearing.  I’m sure this isn’t over by a long shot.  (12 ½ min for the match; 5 additional for the segment).

Larry Morton is backstage with former champion Texas Wildfire.  TW says that normally he would wait but after losing his belt the way he did, he is not a patient man.  He tells Wilber that at the next show, he is enacting his rematch clause for the World Title.

We head to the ring for our next match.  Missy Chick makes her way out first to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Next, Figgy Newton comes out and introduces his charge Taylor Bella.   He provides some words of wisdom and they head down to the ring.   The match begins with Taylor going right on the offensive.  Taylor heeded the advice of Figgy each time he gave it which made him a happy camper.  She took her time with the match outwrestling Missy at each turn.  Finally, in the final moments of the match, Figgy told her to finish it and she executed a hurricanrana and made the cover to get the 3 count.  Taylor Bella wins the match at 19 minutes.  She and Figgy celebrated in the ring briefly before departing.

Back in the GM office, Max McGillicutty is meeting with his forensic investigator Gardinia Blue.  She tells Max she did a little digging and was able to find some details on this J C Dykes fella.  She tells Max that he is a veteran manager from the UK. He has managed 10 World Champions and 25 World Tag-Team Champions. He hails from the hills of Tennessee and he has a southern accent. He seems to carry a whistle, loaded canteen (not sure what it’s loaded with), and unseen fireballs. He can be a very lively talker during the matches.  He is a HEAT Missile and HCW really needs to keep an eye on him to keep him in check.

A limo pulls up outside and stops in front of a bunch of security personnel.  The Honorable J C Dykes exits first and then is followed out by his charge the Unknown Assassin.  Dykes directs security to lead them to the ring (ala Goldberg).  While they are making their way to the ring, his opponent ‘The Gold Standard’ Bruce Biltmore comes out and heads down to the ring.  He barely makes it in when pyro goes off and security line the ramp all the way down to the ring.  The Honorable J C Dykes comes out first and then waits for the Unknown Assassin to join him and then they head down to the ring.   The Unknown Assassin removes his robe and then motions for Bruce to back off while he does some stretches.  The fans are not sure yet what to make of this guy but he sure is pompous.  Finally, he’s ready to begin.  He did not take it easy on Bruce.  In fact, he took much delight in punishing Bruce as his first opponent upon entering HCW.  Dykes interfered by slamming Bruce’s leg against the steel post.  Bruce would eventually battle back and try to retaliate against Dykes but the Unknown Assassin would just mow him down.  UA kept up the intensity and finally, after blasting Bruce with English Forearm Strikes (maybe the elbow slipped in there?), he made the cover and Bruce laid their counting the lights for 3 seconds.  The Unknown Assassin is victorious in his HCW debut (score 148 to 62).  The Honorable J C Dykes gets on the mic and tells all the champions in HCW to beware of the Unknown Assassin as he will mow his way through to the World Champion and it doesn’t matter if it’s King Wilber, Drew the CLM, Texas Wildfire….the Unknown Assassin will beat them all and be the next World Champion.

Backstage, Larry Morton is with Southern Belle.  He asks Belle if she’s ready.  She replies saying she should be the champion and this is all a formality.  Tonight, she takes what is rightfully hers.

Also backstage, Clarkus Kentus is with El Gato Negro.  El Gato tells Clarkus that Belle is a flash in the pan and she should be the champion but if the GM wants to change the rules, she’ll show them all why she won the belt in the first place and why she’ll get it back again.

It’s time for the main event.  Southern Belle makes her way out first to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  She yells at one of the fans that it doesn’t matter what he thinks, she’s walking out the champ.  Next, El Gato makes her way out next to a huge pop from the crowd.  The ref holds up the Ladies title and says that this will be a no DQ/no CO match with a 60 min time limit.  One fall takes it all.  Through the first 7 minutes, both ladies were neck and neck.  After Belle nailed a flying bodypress and a close 2 count, she took the match to El Gato.  We join the match now at the 15 minute mark.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #587 – Independence Day Beatdown

Hello fans and welcome to our PPV – Independence Day Beatdown!  The fans are literally hanging from the rafters and it is sold out!  We have a great show for you tonight.  6 (maybe 7) of our titles are on the line here tonight.  Pyro goes off and as the show gets ready to kick off, Magnum Kone – the King of Cones – makes his way down to the right to a pop from the crowd.  He begins to hand out ice cream to the fans at ringside.  All of a sudden, the lights go out and when they come back on a few seconds later, Magnum is laid out.  There is a person dressed in all black taking off through the crowd; not bothering to look to check on his handiwork.  The man in black disappears.  Suits from the back come out to help Magnum to his feet.  He’s a little disoriented but seems to be ok.  The suits try to take him backstage but he refuses…until he’s given all the ice cream away.  It takes a few minutes to clear his cart and then he accepts the help and makes his way backstage.

Our first match is ready to go.  Heading down to the ring first is ScooterJ, the Axe and TNT.  They get a good pop from the crowd.  Next, Master Bull comes out (he receives an “assh01e” chant and he looks perturbed.  He introduces the 6 Man tag team champions Prestige Inc. and out comes Jesse California, Bishop Ripley and Superstar Chic Monroe.  The 30 min time limit begins and it starts with all 6 men slugging it out in the ring.  Finally the ref restores order and it finally kicks off.  The match was practically even throughout its entirety.  The Axe got a near fall on Jesse after he reversed multiple jumping elbow drops and cinched on a headlock and dropped right to the mat.  Jesse, winded, managed to kick out at 2.  Everyone tags in an out and it’s eventually Axe vs Chic Monroe.  Axe caught Chic with that headlock and went for a pin but Chic kicked out at 2.   TNT gets the hot tag and goes to town on his former teammates.  He beatdown on Chic who had to tag out to get away from the onslaught.  Master Bull calls to Jesse and provides some words of wisdom (and a foreign object) that is used on TNT.  Jesse tries for a pin but TNT kicks out at 2.  Chic gets tagged in and is immediately thrown out of the ring.  He makes it back in at 9.   After a bit of back and forth, Chic hurls TNT out of the ring but he’s back in by 6.  Jesse is in and hurls TNT back out.  TNT makes it back in only for the time limit to expire.  This one ends in a draw but sees Prestige Inc. retain the belts.  (30 min draw); (177 to 166)

We go backstage to meet up the Fiend who is challenging Dr. Red Fang tonight for the Hardcore title.  The Fiend says this is a long time coming and he gets Fang one on one…no manager interference.  Fang will have no place to run…no place to hide and tonight, that title switches hands.

Our next match is for the Hardcore title.  First, the Fiend comes out to music from the Misfits.  The fans pop for him as he makes his way down to the ring.  Next, over the loudspeakers blares “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE” and the Hardcore Champion Dr. Red Fang comes out with his manager Ant Graham.  Both men make it to the ring and the Fiend requests a mic.  He says that he wants this to be a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match.  The Fiend also states that if he loses tonight, he’ll quit HCW.  Both men fought harder than we can recall with so much riding on the line.  Both men were even until the Fiend connected with a moonsault through a table.  Fang would still fight on but a little more worse for wear.  Fiend nailed the Last Caress (DDT) but only got a 2 count.   Fang would battle back hitting a Vampire Lunge but wasn’t able to make the cover.  A ladder gets brought out and Fang tries to suplex the Fiend off of it but Fiend reverses it and bounces Fang’s head off the ladder and he falls to the mat.  We pick up the match at the 13 min mark.

Dr. Red Fang was pinned by The Fiend!!!

The Fiend wins with a THE DEVILOCK (FIGURE FOUR) over Dr. Red Fang and is the NEW HARDCORE CHAMPION!!!

The Fiend takes a mic and says all his hard work and perseverance has paid off.  Fiend says that he’s done with Fang.  The ref reminds the Fiend that Fang will be due a rematch.  “No, I’ve spent too much of my career chasing this fool.  He’s attacked me from behind; he’s ducked me refusing to defend this title.  Now, it is my turn to find new challenges and challengers and move on.  If HCW brass want to have a conversation about this, be my guest but as far as I’m concerned, I’m done with this fool.”  The Fiend takes his title and leaves. (15 min) (106 to 118)

Backstage with Larry Morton is Dude USA Mick Rude.  Mick says that tonight, at the nation’s show of shows, he will do the USA proud when he wins the US title from Rad Gumbo.

Elsewhere backstage, Clarkus Kentus is with ‘The Ragin Cajun’ Rad Gumbo and his manager MJ.  Rad says that there is no way this nobody defeats him and he is the one walking out with the title tonight.

Our 3rd match is ready to go.  “Born in the USA” plays (I sure hope he got permission to use it) and Dude USA Mick Rude comes out to a pop from the crowd.  The music ends abruptly when “Gumbo 7:30 says it’s suppa time, bitch!” plays over the loudspeakers and out comes the US champion Rad Gumbo with his manager MJ in tow carrying the belt for the champ.  Rad enters the ring and hands the title over.

We cut back to GM Max McGillicutty’s office and he is deciding that he’s going to grant someone a title shot for the US title after this match is over.  He stirs up a bowl and pulls out a name.  “Well, I’ll be a monkey’s uncle. I should go let him know.”

We are back in the ring just as the action is ready to kick off.  Rad begins by just wiping the mat with Rude.  This wasn’t much of a match as it was Rad showing off his skills and (the lack of) from Rude.  Gumbo got cocky and MJ tripped Rude at the ropes but somehow he fell into Rad and locked in the Surfboard.  Gumbo was trapped and MJ couldn’t help.  Rad ends up tapping out.  Mick Rude has just defeated Rad Gumbo to become the NEW US CHAMPION!!!!  (9 min)  His celebration is short lived as someone is coming out.  Wait…its El Chango!  His must have been the name pulled.  I guess he’s cashing in his shot right here and now (stipulation is that the match time cannot exceed the original 30 min  - so he gets 21 min).  This match was almost as one sided as the last.  El Chango took the fight to Rude and both men ended up on the outside of the ring but always made it back in.  Rude then locked in the Surfboard thinking he’d win it again but El Chango made it to the ropes to break the hold.  After a few actual wrestling moves, El Chango jumped to the turnbuckles, climbed to the top and connected with a moonsault.  He made the cover and got the 1-2-3.  El Chango just beat Mick Rude to win the US Title and become the NEW CHAMPION in 9 minutes.  El Chango takes the title, holds it over head and then leaves.  (18 min total)

We head backstage and Clarkus Kentus is with Figgy Newton and Hoff N Spicy.  Davis Hoffmeister says that they are undefeated as a tag team and tonight, they prove to the world they are the best around.  DJ CJ adds in that no team in HCW has the record they have and tonight they prove their superiority to the world.  Figgy adds in “and you can take that to the bank, baby!”

Larry Morton is backstage with the Tag Team Champs the Steel Curtain.  Buzz says that these repackaged losers are nothing new and think that with a new name, it’s going to bring them luck.  Starbuck adds in that they were dangerous before without a manager and tonight, the Ambassador is in their corner and they are pretty confident on how things will play out.  The Ambassador leans in and says “Word” but Starbuck and Buzz look at him funny.

The next match is ready to go and the challengers Davis Hoffmeister and DJ CJ Spice aka Hoff n Spicy along with their manager ‘Figgy’ Newton make their way to the ring to a huge pop from the crowd.   They have a solid chance of winning tonight if their luck/skill holds out.  Next, the Ambassador comes out and introduces the Tag Team Champions – the Steel Curtain.  Davis extends his hand to the champs and they ignore him.  He shrugs his shoulders.  The champs were in control of the match but just barely.  The challengers posed a real threat and the champs were not as prepared as they should have been.  Lots of tags from both teams but Starbuck was thrown out of the ring 3 consecutive times.  After the last one from DJ CJ, he decided enough was enough and he began walking away.  Buzz and the Ambassador joined him and the champs end up getting counted out.  Unfortunately for Hoff n Spicy, belts don’t change hands on a count out.  They win the match but not the titles.  Davis and DJ begged for the champs to return but Starbuck and Buzz both flipped them off and left.  9 ½ min)

Max is in his office and tries to decide if the men’s or Ladies title goes on last.  He flips a coin and the Ladies win.  Their match will be last.

Backstage, ‘the Elitist’ Reid Rothchild is trying to talk his wife Ravishing Raquel out of challenging him for this title.  She doesn’t back down and enters her dressing room closing the door in Reid’s face.  He does not look happy (also, Master Bull and the rest of Prestige Inc. are banned from ringside).

Backstage, Larry Morton is with King Wilber Townsend w/ Sonic Blade standing behind him.  Wilber tells us that it’s the end of the line for Texas Wildfire and once he extinguishes the smoldering embers, he will add World champion to his resume.  He then starts to laugh but no one joins with him.

Also backstage, Clarkus Kentus is with the World Champion Texas Wildfire.  TW states that Wilber is not to be underestimated but then neither should he.   TW brings in Drew the Canadian Love Machine and says Drew has agreed to watch his back in exchange for a future (his entitled rematch) title shot.  Drew says that Sonic will be a non-factor and says TW has nothing to be worried about.

Reid shows up in Max’s office and begs for the match to be cancelled.  Max tells him that he opened the Pandora’s Box when he put out a contract to ANY HCW superstar.  Max questions if Raquel is actually smarter than Reid but Reid walks off in a huff.

The next match begins when Ravishing Raquel makes her way down to the ring.  She takes a mic and calls her husband down.  Reid comes down (minus Master Bull) and tries to plead with her to stop this.  She tells Reid he can lay down for her and let her pin him to win the belt or she does it the old fashioned way and takes it from him.  Reid tries to walk off but Raquel dropkicks him sending him tumbling out of the ring.  She tells him to get in the ring and fight her.  He refuses.  She goes after him and slaps him across the face but still nothing.  She gets back in the ring and begins to cry.  Reid rushes back to her side trying to console her but she motions to have the bell rung and then attempts a small package but Reid kicks out instantly.  She begins to push him and he leaves the ring in an attempt to get counted out.  She goes after him and eye rakes him.  She then tosses him back in the ring.  “Fight Me!” she screams at him.  Finally, Reid, out of options, hits the Rock Bottom.  He’s hesitant to go for a pin but ends up doing so but she kicks out and then kicks him in the head.  Raquel locks him in the Ravishing Armbar but he makes it to the ropes.  He locks in the Backlund Chickenwing but she makes it to the ropes.  Reid goes for the Rothchild Stunner and connects.  He goes for the pin but Raquel kicks out.  Raquel takes Reid out of the ring and then throws him shoulder first into the steel post.  A few choice words not appropriate for our show came out of his mouth.  Raquel takes him back in the ring and Reid goes for a Stinger Splash but Raquel moves out of the way and he further injures his shoulder.  She then locks in the Ravishing Chickenwing and takes Reid down to the mat.  She keeps him centered in the ring and he has nowhere to go.  He then tapped out!  HOLY CRAP!  Ravishing Raquel just defeated Reid to become the NEW ELITIST CHAMPION!!!  She takes the belt from the ref, parades around with it for a few moments and then leaves Reid (flabbergasted) behind.  (7 min)

Southern Belle is backstage and she sees Raquel arrive with her new title.  Belle congratulates her and tells her that more titles will be changing hands tonight.

King Wilber Townsend w/Sonic Blade makes their way down to the ring. Wilber paces waiting for the match to begin.  Sonic waits on the outside.  Next, World Champion Texas Wildfire comes out and joining him is Drew the Canadian Love Machine.  They head to the ring and Drew remains on the outside as TW climbs the turnbuckles showing off his gold.  TW controlled the match early on but interference from Sonic Blade turned the tide to his royalness.  Drew didn’t seem to be all that into this match as he was late in stopping outside interference.  24 minutes in, Wilber removed the covering of the corner turnbuckle exposing the metal beneath.  He then bounced TW’s head off of it and dropped him with a short arm clothesline.  Wilber went for the cover and put his feet on the ropes to get the 1-2-3.  King Wilber has done it and defeated Texas Wildfire (24 min).  Drew then jumps in the ring saying he wants his rematch right here, right now.  Wilber has no choice.  Drew goes to town on Wilber who struggled to stay on his feet.  Wilber was able to deflect some of the offense from Drew but not enough.  Wilber then threw Drew into the corner with the exposed brackets and he stopped short of hitting it.  He turned around only to get hit with the Go to Sleep.  Wilber rolled him up and (both feet on the ropes), he got the 1-2-3.  King Wilber retains the World Title.  He exits the ring before anyone else can jump in.  (4 min).  Drew is pissed off and takes off after him.

Max makes his way out and thanks the fans for attending.  He says this has been a great show and will cap off the evening with the Ladies title match.  Max tells us he’s just secured a new location that will share the duties with Phoenix as a co-location for HCW shows and that will be in Tacoma, WA.  He expects all the paperwork to be signed off on in the next month or so.  He adds on that a brand split similar to how HWF and CSWA were is not off the table.  The Omegatron above him starts to crackle and a video airs.  It’s some guy we’ve never seen before.  He begins…

PRESS RELEASE TO HCW

“The Honorable J C Dykes would like to announce that his greatest champion has come out of retirement to prove his SUPERIOR abilities to the lowly HCW owners and fans. His self-induced retirement came about because of lack of genuine competition around the world. The UNKNOWN ASSASSIN has arrived and will take on all comers, from the lowest ringboy to whomever would call themselves the World Champion. I, the Honorable J C Dykes, have managed World Champions in Singles and Tag-Teams, but this is my greatest wrestler of all time. He will go through your roster with the speed of a home-made laxative for my dairy cows back in Tennessee. So, when we arrive, we expect to receive the proper respect worthy of the greatest Champion ever seen. We expect extra security at every arena and TV studios to keep the riff-raff away from my Champion. Thank you----this has been the Honorable J C Dykes informing you of what you need to know.”

Max looks puzzled like he wasn’t expecting this so he quickly hurried back to his office.

It’s time for the MAIN EVENT!  Southern Belle comes out first and gets a big pop from the crowd.  She rushes to the ring, slides under the bottom rope and then raises her arms as she stands on each corner’s turnbuckles.  Once she’s done, music changes and out comes the Ladies Champion El Gato Negro.  El Gato also gets a warm reception from the crowd and she leans over each top rope holding her title high.  She meets Southern Belle in the middle of the ring and holds the title in her face.  Belle looks on patiently.  The ref sends them to opposite corners and then has the bell rung.  The two go toe to toe slugging it out and El Gato locks in the Wall-O-Cato but Belle manages to make it to the ropes to break the hold.  Belle caught the champ with a well-placed dropkick.  El Gato hit a Gato leap and Belle hit a flying bodypress.  El Gato hit the Gato Paw and then tossed Belle out of the ring.  Just as Belle was trying to get back in the ring, someone reached out from under the ring and dragged Belle under.  The ref looked around for her but didn’t see her so he began his count.  Belle finally clawed her way out from under the ring only to miss getting back in the ring before the 10 count was reached.  Southern Belle is counted out and the match is awarded to El Gato.  (5 ½ min)  Before she could celebrate, Max came back out and said that this is not the way for a champion to win so he is calling for the match to be restarted but only with a 24 min time limit.  Belle got back in and went on the offensive but was nullified by the champ.  The two slugged it out again.  El Gato went for the Gato Paw but Belle reversed it and hit a victory roll and with a hook of the leg (and a handful of tights), she got the 1-2-3.  Southern Belle gets the win but before the ref could raise her arm, Max came back out again and said that Belle cheated and that is not how things are done here so he’s making this a best of 3 falls, time limit remaining.  The two put on a show that had the fans on their feet the entire time.  It couldn’t have been any closer.  With the time limit getting ready to expire, Belle offered her hand in friendship but her intent was to kick El Gato below the belt but El Gato saw it coming and nullified it.  The bell then rang bringing this one to an end.  Max came back out and said that Belle was the last to score a pin or submission so the belt should go to her however, El Gato is the reigning champ and in these circumstances, the champ would retain.   He taps his finger on his chin as he contemplates his decision.  He finally decides…to hold up the belt and next show these two will have another chance to fight it out.  Everyone looked disappointed and it was probably the first time the fans wanted to take Max out back and beat the tar out of him.  The show comes to an end.

Thanks for reading.  It looks like new things are happening so stay tuned.
