The camera
sweeps across a packed Columbia Coliseum as the HCW Voltage theme music plays.
Fans are on their feet holding signs and cheering as pyrotechnics erupt from
the stage.
Sam
Duffy:
"Hello wrestling fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW
Wrestling Newsletter! We are coming to you live from the Columbia Coliseum and
we've got another exciting edition of HCW Voltage on tap tonight!"
Rick
Granger:
"And unlike some people around here, Sam, I actually enjoy a little
unpredictability. Last night on Live Wire, Terrible Herse shocked a lot of
people when he defeated Jax Brenner and walked out with the Hardcore
Championship."
A graphic
appears on screen showing Terrible Herse holding the Hardcore Championship.
Sam
Duffy:
"Jax Brenner held that championship with pride, but Terrible Herse
capitalized on his opportunity and now the landscape of the Hardcore Division
looks very different."
Rick
Granger:
"Different? I'd say improved. Herse showed up, won a championship, and
suddenly everybody's talking about him. That's how you make an impact."
Sam
Duffy:
"Well, whether you agree with Rick or not, one thing is certain—Jax
Brenner now finds himself at a crossroads. We'll hear more about his future
plans later tonight."
A graphic
appears showing tonight's featured matches.
Sam
Duffy:
"We'll also see a brand-new competitor enter the Proving Grounds as The
Stillwell Angel makes her HCW debut against Ashley Summers."
Rick
Granger:
"That's a rough first assignment. Ashley Summers isn't exactly known for
welcoming newcomers with open arms."
Sam
Duffy:
"Plus, Avery St. Claire has promised a major announcement regarding the
Ladies World Championship picture."
Rick
Granger:
"And whenever somebody starts making promises involving championships,
somebody else usually ends up angry."
Sam
Duffy:
"We'll also see Trinity Bowman battle Luna Shadow, Cassius Onyx takes on
Graves Mercer, and in our non-title main event, World Champion Zack Brown goes
one-on-one with Julius Squeezer!"
Rick
Granger:
"Now that's a main event. Two of the toughest competitors in HCW stepping
into the ring with something to prove."
Sam
Duffy:
"We are just getting started! Let's head backstage."
The camera
cuts away from ringside and heads toward Max McGillicutty's office.
Backstage
– Max McGillicutty's Office
The camera
cuts backstage to the office of HCW General Manager Max McGillicutty. Max sits
behind his desk reviewing paperwork when a knock is heard at the door.
Max
McGillicutty:
"Come on in."
The door
opens and Jax Brenner enters with Molly Mason. Jax is dressed in street
clothes, noticeably without the Hardcore Championship that had become a
familiar sight over the past several months.
Max
McGillicutty:
"Jax. Molly. Have a seat."
The two
sit down across from Max's desk.
Max
McGillicutty:
"I figured I'd be seeing you sooner rather than later."
Jax nods.
Jax
Brenner:
"Yeah. Last night didn't go the way I wanted."
Max
McGillicutty:
"No. It didn't."
Max folds
his hands together.
Max
McGillicutty:
"So what are you thinking? You know you've got a rematch clause."
Jax
Brenner:
"I know."
Jax
glances toward Molly before looking back at Max.
Jax
Brenner:
"But I'm not cashing it in right now."
Max raises
an eyebrow.
Max
McGillicutty:
"You're not?"
Jax
Brenner:
"No."
Jax leans
forward slightly.
Jax
Brenner:
"I've been going non-stop for months. Defenses, challenges, everything
that came with carrying that title."
Molly
Mason:
"And let's be honest, Max. Nobody defended that championship more often
than Jax did."
Max
McGillicutty:
"That's hard to argue with."
Jax
Brenner:
"So I'm asking for a little time."
Max
considers the request.
Max
McGillicutty:
"Time away?"
Jax
Brenner:
"Not gone. Just stepping back for a bit."
Jax's
expression hardens.
Jax
Brenner:
"Because when I come back, I don't want a quick rematch."
Max
McGillicutty:
"What do you want?"
Jax
Brenner:
"Terrible Herse."
A brief
pause.
Jax
Brenner:
"Reign of Champions."
The crowd
in the arena can be heard reacting from the live feed.
Max
McGillicutty:
"So that's the plan?"
Jax
Brenner:
"That's the plan."
Jax
Brenner:
"He beat me. Fair and square. Even if Yeti showed his furry mug on the big
screen."
Jax nods
reluctantly.
“We have
an event we will be attending later this month and I may just pay the ol’ furbag
a visit.”
A Pause.
Jax
Brenner:
"But if I'm taking that Hardcore Championship back, I'm doing it on one of
the biggest stages HCW has."
Molly
smiles slightly.
Molly
Mason:
"Sounds like a pretty good plan to me."
Max leans
back in his chair.
Max
McGillicutty:
"You've earned that much."
Jax and
Molly exchange a glance.
Max
McGillicutty:
"Take the time you need."
Max
McGillicutty:
"And when you're ready, I'll make sure Terrible Herse knows exactly what's
waiting for him at Reign of Champions."
Jax stands
and extends his hand.
Jax
Brenner:
"Thank you."
Max shakes
it.
Max
McGillicutty:
"Good luck, Jax."
Jax and
Molly leave the office as the camera follows them into the hallway for a moment
before cutting away.
Sam
Duffy:
"Well there you have it. Jax Brenner isn't looking for an immediate
rematch."
Rick
Granger:
"I don't know whether that's confidence or insanity."
Sam
Duffy:
"I think it's patience."
Rick
Granger:
"I think Terrible Herse gets extra months to enjoy that
championship."
Sam
Duffy:
"One way or another, it sounds like we're headed toward a huge Hardcore
Championship rematch at Reign of Champions."
Rick
Granger:
"And if Jax wants it that badly, he'd better make sure he's ready."
Sam
Duffy:
"Coming up next, it's Proving Grounds action as The Stillwell Angel makes
her HCW debut against Ashley Summers!"
The camera
transitions back toward the arena.
Tony
"Echo" Calibur:
"Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is scheduled for one fall and
is a Proving Grounds Match!"
The crowd
applauds as the camera pans around the arena.
"Diamond
Empire" by Velvet Reckoning
The music
begins and Ashley Summers steps onto the stage with Ruth Heartless by her side.
Ashley wears a confident smirk as she looks toward the ring while Ruth surveys
the crowd with a look of disdain.
Sam
Duffy:
"A tough assignment for any newcomer tonight. Ashley Summers has become
one of the most accomplished competitors in HCW's women's division."
Rick
Granger:
"And that's exactly why I like this matchup. If you're trying to earn a
place in HCW, let's find out what you've got against somebody who's already
proven she belongs."
Ashley
confidently makes her way down the aisle while Ruth Heartless follows a step
behind. The pair enter the ring and Ashley poses briefly before taking her
corner.
The arena
lights dim.
A soft
golden glow fills the entranceway as an uplifting instrumental theme begins to
play. The crowd grows curious as a new face appears at the top of the ramp.
"Wings
of Tomorrow" by Aurora Skyfall
The
Stillwell Angel pauses on the stage and takes in the moment. A smile crosses
her face as she receives an encouraging reaction from the HCW faithful.
Sam
Duffy:
"And here she is. The newest competitor to step into HCW's Proving
Grounds."
Rick
Granger:
"Big moment. New arena. New audience. And a very dangerous opponent
waiting in that ring."
The
Stillwell Angel confidently begins walking toward the ring, occasionally
acknowledging fans along the barricade. Despite the magnitude of the moment,
she appears focused and determined.
Tony
"Echo" Calibur:
"Introducing first, accompanied to the ring by Ruth Heartless... from
Beverly Hills, California... weighing 132 pounds... ASHLEY 'DIAMOND'
SUMMERS!"
Ashley
raises her arms as a mixed reaction comes from the crowd.
Sam
Duffy:
"No shortage of confidence from Ashley Summers."
Rick
Granger:
"Confidence? I'd call it justified."
Tony
"Echo" Calibur:
"And her opponent... making her HCW debut tonight... from Stillwell,
Oklahoma... weighing 125 pounds... THE STILLWELL ANGEL!"
The crowd
responds warmly as she enters the ring and climbs a turnbuckle, taking one
final look around the arena before stepping down and preparing for the match.
Sam
Duffy:
"You only get one first impression, Rick."
Rick
Granger:
"Then she'd better make it count."
The
referee calls both competitors toward the center of the ring for final
instructions as the crowd settles in anticipation of the opening contest.
The bell
sounded and The Stillwell Angel wasted little time showing why she had earned a
spot in HCW's Proving Grounds program. The rookie immediately took the fight to
Ashley Summers, surprising both her opponent and the crowd with a combination
of speed, agility, and technical ability.
Sam
Duffy:
"Well, somebody forgot to tell The Stillwell Angel she's supposed to be
nervous."
Rick
Granger:
"Let's see if she can keep this up. A lot of rookies start fast."
Ashley
attempted to establish control early, but The Stillwell Angel repeatedly
countered the veteran's offense. A spin kick sent Ashley stumbling backward,
and moments later a hurricanrana nearly had Summers completely off balance.
The crowd
began to rally behind the newcomer as she continued to dictate the pace.
Sam
Duffy:
"What a debut this has been so far!"
Rick
Granger:
"I'll admit it—she came prepared."
The
Stillwell Angel continued to impress with another spin kick and a series of
quick aerial attacks that left Ashley visibly frustrated. Every time Summers
attempted to gain momentum, the rookie seemed to have an answer.
Ashley
finally found an opening midway through the contest with a tilt-a-whirl
gutbuster, followed by a standing moonsault that slowed the newcomer's
momentum.
Ruth
Heartless then began inserting herself into the match, drawing the attention of
both the referee and The Stillwell Angel. At one point, Ruth managed to create
just enough of a distraction to help Ashley regain control.
Sam
Duffy:
"Come on now! Ruth Heartless has no business getting involved."
Rick
Granger:
"She's supporting her friend. That's called strategy."
Despite
the interference, The Stillwell Angel battled back. She countered a Queen's
Boot attempt with another perfectly placed spin kick and followed it up with a
high-impact hurricanrana that brought the crowd to its feet.
The rookie
appeared to have Ashley on the ropes.
Sam
Duffy:
"I think Ashley Summers is in serious trouble!"
Rick
Granger:
"And that's exactly why veterans know how to survive."
As the
match entered its closing moments, Ashley shifted her focus from winning
decisively to simply surviving. After narrowly escaping a Black Widow Octopus
Hold and enduring several more offensive bursts from the rookie, Summers
finally found her opportunity.
Ashley
hurled The Stillwell Angel through the ropes and out to the floor.
The rookie
hit hard on the outside.
Honest
Abe
immediately began the count.
Sam
Duffy:
"No! Not like this!"
The
Stillwell Angel scrambled to her feet and raced back toward the ring.
Rick
Granger:
"Move! Move!"
She dove
forward as the count reached its limit—
—but she
was a split second too late.
The bell
rings.
Tony
"Echo" Calibur:
"Here is your winner by count out... ASHLEY 'DIAMOND' SUMMERS!"
Ashley
quickly exited the ring and joined Ruth Heartless on the ramp, relieved to
escape with the victory.
Meanwhile,
The Stillwell Angel slid into the ring moments after the ten count and
immediately realized what had happened.
She knelt
on the mat in frustration as the crowd responded with a loud ovation.
Sam
Duffy:
"She may not have won the match, but what a performance by The Stillwell
Angel."
Rick
Granger:
"She learned a valuable lesson tonight. Talent got her close. Experience
got Ashley Summers the win."
Result: Ashley Summers defeats The Stillwell Angel by
count out in a Proving Grounds Match.
Inside the
ring, The Stillwell Angel slides back under the bottom rope moments after the
ten count. She pounds the mat in frustration, realizing exactly how close she
came.
Rick
Granger:
"And that's the lesson. Talent gets you far. Experience gets you
wins."
Ashley and
Ruth stop at the top of the ramp as music suddenly cuts off.
The crowd
reacts as Max McGillicutty steps onto the stage.
Sam
Duffy:
"Max McGillicutty is coming out here."
Max looks
toward the ring.
Max
McGillicutty:
"Stillwell Angel."
The rookie
stands and turns toward the stage.
Max
McGillicutty:
"You don't look very happy."
The crowd
chuckles slightly.
Max
McGillicutty:
"Good."
The crowd
reacts.
Max
McGillicutty:
"Because if you were happy after losing, I'd have a problem."
The
Stillwell Angel nods.
Max
McGillicutty:
"You had Ashley Summers beat more than once tonight."
Ashley
immediately looks offended on the stage.
Max
McGillicutty:
"You outwrestled her."
Max
McGillicutty:
"You outworked her."
Max
McGillicutty:
"And then you made one mistake."
Max points
toward the ring.
Max
McGillicutty:
"One."
Max
McGillicutty:
"And Ashley made you pay for it."
Ashley
smirks and shrugs as if to say that's what veterans do.
Max
McGillicutty:
"That's not a talent problem."
The crowd
applauds.
Max
McGillicutty:
"That's an experience problem."
Max folds
his arms.
Max
McGillicutty:
"So here's what we're going to do."
The crowd
cheers.
Max
McGillicutty:
"Next Saturday on Live Wire..."
Another
reaction from the crowd.
Max
McGillicutty:
"...you're getting another match."
The
Stillwell Angel smiles.
Max
McGillicutty:
"And if you learn from tonight..."
Max
pauses.
Max
McGillicutty:
"...I think everybody in this building already knows what happens
next."
The crowd
cheers loudly.
The
Stillwell Angel points toward Max and nods appreciatively.
Sam
Duffy:
"What an opportunity!"
Rick
Granger:
"Let's not get carried away. She still lost."
Sam
Duffy:
"She lost tonight, but I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot more of The
Stillwell Angel."
The camera
focuses on the rookie standing in the ring while Ashley Summers and Ruth
Heartless look on from the stage before Voltage heads to commercial.
Voltage
returns from commercial as the camera sweeps across the Columbia Coliseum
crowd.
Sam
Duffy:
"Welcome back to HCW Voltage. Moments ago, The Stillwell Angel came up
just short in her Proving Grounds debut, but what an impression she made."
Rick
Granger:
"I'll give her credit. She surprised me. But the record book says Ashley
Summers won, and that's the part that matters."
Sam
Duffy:
"Still, thanks to Max McGillicutty, we'll be seeing The Stillwell Angel
back in action next week on Live Wire."
Rick
Granger:
"Good. Now we'll find out if that performance was the beginning of
something or just beginner's luck."
Sam
Duffy:
"Up next, we've got an intriguing matchup. Cara Loco takes on Muscles
Thorpe."
Rick
Granger:
"Now this one should be interesting. Thorpe has made it very clear lately
that he's tired of being overlooked."
Sam
Duffy:
"And tonight he's not exactly approaching this match with the usual
positive attitude we've come to expect."
"Wildfire Heart" by Crimson Avenue begins to play.
The crowd
cheers as Cara Loco bursts onto the stage with his usual energy. He points
toward the fans on both sides of the aisle before making his way toward the
ring, slapping hands and feeding off the audience reaction.
Sam
Duffy:
"Cara Loco has become one of the most popular competitors in HCW because he
never backs down from a challenge."
Rick
Granger:
"He’s also one of the busiest competitors in HCW. Maybe he should spend
less time high-fiving people and more time worrying about who's waiting in that
ring."
Cara
circles the ring and climbs onto the apron before stepping through the ropes
and acknowledging the crowd one final time.
The lights
dim slightly.
A heavier
beat suddenly echoes throughout the arena.
"Built
Different" by Iron Anthem begins playing.
The
reaction becomes noticeably more mixed as Muscles Thorpe steps onto the stage.
Thorpe
pauses at the top of the ramp, looking out at the crowd with a more serious
expression than usual. Gone is the playful demeanor fans have grown accustomed
to. Tonight, he looks focused—and annoyed.
Sam
Duffy:
"There is definitely a different attitude from Muscles Thorpe
tonight."
Rick
Granger:
"Maybe he finally got tired of people treating him like comic
relief."
Thorpe
cracks his neck and starts down the aisle without playing to the crowd.
Sam
Duffy:
"I've got to admit, this version of Muscles Thorpe is a little
unsettling."
Rick
Granger:
"I like it. He's here to win, not entertain."
Thorpe
steps into the ring and immediately locks eyes with Cara Loco across the
canvas.
Sam
Duffy:
"Power versus speed. Two very different approaches to professional
wrestling."
Rick
Granger:
"And if Thorpe catches Cara even once, this could be a very short
night."
Referee
Honest Abe checks both competitors and calls for the bell.
What began
as a straightforward contest quickly turned into a hard-fought battle between
two competitors determined to prove a point.
Muscles
Thorpe entered the match with a noticeably different attitude, abandoning much
of his usual upbeat demeanor in favor of a more aggressive approach. Early on,
that strategy appeared to be paying dividends as Thorpe used his size and
strength advantage to batter Cara Loco with belly-to-belly suplexes, knee
lifts, and punishing strikes to the midsection.
Sam
Duffy:
"Muscles Thorpe came into this match looking to make a statement."
Rick
Granger:
"And so far he's making one. This isn't the fun-loving Thorpe we've seen
before."
Cara Loco
weathered the early storm and gradually began using his speed to create
openings. A series of short-arm clotheslines, back elbows, and a beautifully
executed inverted DDT shifted momentum back in his favor. The crowd came alive
as Cara repeatedly forced the larger Thorpe onto the defensive.
Thorpe
responded with brute force, crushing Cara with multiple running splashes and
power moves that kept the match evenly balanced. Neither man was willing to
surrender control for long.
Sam
Duffy:
"This has turned into a tremendous back-and-forth contest."
Rick
Granger:
"I'll give both men credit. Neither one is backing down."
Midway
through the match, Cara nearly stole the victory after planting Thorpe with a
Sister Abigail and immediately going for a cover, but Thorpe powered out before
the three-count. Moments later, Thorpe answered with a near-fall of his own
following a crushing body block.
As the
contest continued, exhaustion began to set in.
Cara
repeatedly sent Thorpe tumbling to the outside with his trademark Loco Attack,
forcing the bigger man to struggle back into the ring time and time again.
Thorpe answered with sheer determination, repeatedly dragging himself back into
the fight before the referee's count could become a factor.
Sam
Duffy:
"I don't know how much these two have left."
Rick
Granger:
"Enough to keep beating each other up, apparently."
The final
minutes saw both competitors throw everything they had at one another. Running
crossbodies, basement boots, splashes, and power slams brought the crowd to its
feet as neither wrestler could gain the decisive advantage.
With both
men exhausted and neither willing to stay down, the clock continued to tick
away until the allotted time expired.
The bell
rings repeatedly.
The crowd
responded with a mixture of surprise and applause as Cara Loco and Muscles
Thorpe remained standing in opposite corners, both visibly exhausted after
thirty minutes of action.
Sam
Duffy:
"What a battle! Neither man could put the other away."
Rick
Granger:
"And for once, I think the result fits. Neither competitor deserved to
lose that match."
Result: Cara Loco and Muscles Thorpe fight to a
time-limit draw.
Voltage
returns from a brief commercial break. The camera pans across the crowd as fans
continue buzzing about the thirty-minute draw between Cara Loco and Muscles
Thorpe.
Sam
Duffy:
"Welcome back to HCW Voltage. What a battle we just witnessed between Cara
Loco and Muscles Thorpe."
Rick
Granger:
"Neither man got the win, but neither man got beaten either. Sometimes
that's the way it goes."
Sam
Duffy:
"And now we're shifting our attention to the Ladies World Championship
picture."
Rick
Granger:
"I've been waiting for this."
The arena
lights dim as a familiar theme begins to play.
Sam
Duffy:
"Here comes Avery St. Claire."
The crowd
cheers as Avery St. Claire emerges onto the stage carrying her
Contract-in-a-Case briefcase. She smiles and confidently makes her way to the
ring, occasionally tapping the case with her hand.
Rick
Granger:
"You know what I love about this? No guessing. No surprises. Avery said
she had something to say, and she's coming out here to say it."
Avery
enters the ring and is handed a microphone. The crowd applauds as she waits for
the noise to settle.
Avery
St. Claire:
"Last week, I won this."
She raises
the contract case overhead.
Avery
St. Claire:
"And ever since then, everybody has been asking the same question."
Avery
smiles.
Avery
St. Claire:
"When are you going to cash it in?"
The crowd
cheers.
Avery
St. Claire:
"Well tonight, you're getting your answer."
The
audience grows louder.
Avery
St. Claire:
"I didn't come to HCW to take shortcuts."
Avery
St. Claire:
"I didn't come here looking for an easy opportunity."
Avery
St. Claire:
"I came here to become Ladies World Champion."
Big
reaction from the crowd.
Avery
St. Claire:
"So Luciana Albano..."
Avery
points toward the entranceway.
Avery
St. Claire:
"...you don't have to wonder anymore."
Avery
St. Claire:
"On June 17..."
The crowd
begins cheering before she can finish.
Avery
St. Claire:
"...I'm cashing this contract in."
Huge crowd
reaction.
Avery
St. Claire:
"And I'm challenging you for the Ladies World Championship."
The crowd
erupts.
Sam
Duffy:
"There it is!"
Rick
Granger:
"Bold move. Very bold move."
Avery
lowers the microphone and waits.
Seconds
later, the reaction changes.
A smile
crosses Avery's face as another theme begins playing.
Sam
Duffy:
"And here she comes."
Luciana
Albano emerges onto the stage with the Ladies World Championship draped over
her shoulder. The champion slowly applauds while staring directly at Avery.
Rick
Granger:
"Now this should be fun."
Luciana
enters the ring and stands face-to-face with Avery. She slowly raises a
microphone while the crowd buzzes with anticipation.
Luciana
Albano:
"So that's the plan?"
Luciana
glances at the contract case.
Luciana
Albano:
"You actually think you're ready for me."
Avery
never breaks eye contact.
Avery
St. Claire:
"I know I am."
The crowd
cheers.
Luciana
Albano:
"That's adorable."
Boos rain
down from the crowd.
Luciana
Albano:
"You won a contract."
Luciana
Albano:
"Congratulations."
Luciana
slowly lifts the championship.
Luciana
Albano:
"I won this."
More boos.
Luciana
Albano:
"And there is a very big difference between winning an
opportunity..."
She points
at Avery.
Luciana
Albano:
"...and winning a championship."
Avery
takes a step closer.
Avery
St. Claire:
"Good."
The crowd
reacts.
Avery
St. Claire:
"Because on June 17, I plan on doing both."
The crowd
erupts again.
Sam
Duffy:
"Listen to this crowd!"
Rick
Granger:
"They may believe in Avery. Luciana doesn't."
The two
women stand nose-to-nose in the center of the ring.
Neither
backs down.
Neither
looks away.
Finally,
Luciana smirks and slowly raises the championship belt between them.
Sam
Duffy:
"June 17. Avery St. Claire. Luciana Albano. Ladies World
Championship."
Rick
Granger:
"And one of them is going to leave disappointed."
The camera
focuses on the intense staredown as Voltage heads to commercial.
Voltage
returns from commercial with the camera focused on the ring.
Sam
Duffy:
"What a confrontation we just witnessed between Avery St. Claire and
Luciana Albano."
Rick
Granger:
"Avery finally picked her date, and now she gets to spend the next ten
days wondering if she made a terrible mistake."
Sam
Duffy:
"I don't think Avery has any doubts."
Rick
Granger:
"She should."
Sam
Duffy:
"Well, up next we've got another important matchup in HCW's women's
division as Trinity Bowman takes on Luna Shadow."
Rick
Granger:
"Two competitors who would love to find themselves in the championship
conversation."
"Bow
to Greatness" by Crown Theory begins playing.
The crowd
immediately boos as Trinity Bowman steps onto the stage.
A
confident smirk crosses her face as she slowly surveys the audience. Trinity
pays little attention to the negative reaction, instead focusing entirely on
the ring ahead of her.
Sam
Duffy:
"Trinity Bowman continues to be one of the most dangerous competitors in
the division."
Rick
Granger:
"And unlike some people, she knows exactly how good she is."
Trinity
confidently makes her way down the aisle, occasionally shaking her head at the
fans lining the barricade.
She climbs
the ring steps, enters through the ropes, and takes her corner while staring
toward the entranceway.
Sam
Duffy:
"You never have to wonder what's on Trinity Bowman's mind."
Rick
Granger:
"That's because she's usually right."
The arena
lights dim.
A
silver-and-purple glow fills the stage as a haunting melody echoes throughout
the Columbia Coliseum.
"Into
the Moonlight" by Shadow Veil begins to play.
The crowd
erupts as Luna Shadow emerges onto the stage.
Luna
pauses for a moment, taking in the reaction before beginning her walk toward
the ring.
Sam
Duffy:
"And here comes one of the most popular competitors in HCW."
Rick
Granger:
"I'll never understand why everybody loves Luna Shadow so much."
Sam
Duffy:
"Maybe because she lets her actions do the talking."
Luna moves
down the aisle with purpose, occasionally acknowledging fans along the way
before directing her full attention toward the ring.
Inside the
ring, Trinity Bowman remains motionless, her eyes locked on her approaching
opponent.
Rick
Granger:
"Now this feels like a fight."
Sam
Duffy:
"Two talented competitors. Neither willing to back down."
Luna
enters the ring and climbs the turnbuckle, drawing another loud reaction from
the crowd before dropping back to the canvas.
The two
women stand in opposite corners as referee Honest Abe prepares to call
for the bell.
Sam
Duffy:
"Trinity Bowman. Luna Shadow. Here we go."
The
referee signals for the match to begin.
The match
quickly developed into a highly competitive contest, with neither woman able to
establish a lasting advantage.
Trinity
Bowman relied on her power and technical wrestling, repeatedly slowing the pace
with full nelsons, bridging suplexes, and sidewalk slams. Luna Shadow answered
with her speed and explosiveness, connecting with a series of Celestial Elbow
Drops, Moonlit Suplexes, and a devastating Starafall DDT that nearly shifted
the match entirely in her favor.
Sam
Duffy:
"These two know each other well, and it shows."
Rick
Granger:
"That's because neither one can afford to lose ground in this
division."
As the
match progressed, Luna appeared to gain momentum. A second Starafall DDT rocked
Trinity and left the former contender struggling to keep pace.
The crowd
rallied behind Luna as she pressed the attack.
Sam
Duffy:
"Luna Shadow is starting to take over!"
Rick
Granger:
"Then she better finish the job."
Luna
attempted another Starafall DDT, looking for the decisive blow.
But
Trinity had it scouted.
At the
last second, Trinity countered and rolled through into a small package.
Luna
kicked out.
Later in
the match, Trinity caught Luna with another small package out of nowhere.
Again,
Luna escaped.
Sam
Duffy:
"Twice now Trinity Bowman has nearly stolen this match!"
Rick
Granger:
"That's called ring awareness."
The final
moments arrived after Luna connected with a Lunar Leg Sweep and prepared to
continue her offensive assault. As Luna moved in, Trinity suddenly grabbed a
handful of tights and yanked her forward into a small package roll-up.
From the
referee's position, the infraction was completely hidden.
Sam
Duffy:
"Wait a minute! She's got the tights!"
Rick
Granger:
"Honest Abe can't see it!"
Sam
Duffy:
"Come on!"
Honest
Abe:
"ONE!"
"TWO!"
"THREE!"
The bell
rings.
The crowd
immediately boos as Trinity releases the hold and quickly retreats from the
ring before Luna can get to her.
Inside the
ring, Luna argues her case with Honest Abe, demonstrating exactly where
Trinity had grabbed her tights.
The
referee can only shake his head.
Sam
Duffy:
"Luna Shadow had this match won."
Rick
Granger:
"No, Sam. Trinity Bowman found a way to win."
Sam
Duffy:
"There's a difference."
Rick
Granger:
"Not in the standings."
Trinity
backs up the ramp with a smug grin while Luna remains in the ring, furious over
how the match ended.
Result: Trinity Bowman defeats Luna Shadow via
pinfall after using a handful of tights during a Small Package Roll-Up.
Backstage
Interview
The camera
cuts backstage where Larry Morton is standing in front of an HCW Voltage
backdrop.
Larry
Morton:
"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time... the HCW
World Champion, Zack Brown."
The crowd
cheers as Zack Brown steps into frame. The World Championship rests proudly
over his shoulder.
Larry
Morton:
"Zack, later tonight you'll compete in our non-title main event against
Julius Squeezer. What's your mindset heading into that match?"
Zack
Brown:
"My mindset is the same as it is every time I step into a ring."
Zack
adjusts the championship on his shoulder.
Zack
Brown:
"Show up."
Zack
Brown:
"Do the job."
Zack
Brown:
"Earn the respect of the people who paid to see me compete."
The crowd
applauds from the arena.
Larry
Morton:
"Julius Squeezer is certainly no easy assignment."
Zack
Brown:
"You're right about that."
Zack nods.
Zack
Brown:
"Julius is one of the toughest men in HCW."
Zack
Brown:
"He's strong."
Zack
Brown:
"He's experienced."
Zack
Brown:
"And he's the kind of competitor that can beat you if you make even one
mistake."
Larry
Morton:
"That sounds like a great deal of respect."
Zack
Brown:
"It is."
Zack
pauses briefly.
Zack
Brown:
"Respect doesn't mean hesitation."
Zack
Brown:
"It doesn't mean fear."
Zack
Brown:
"It means understanding exactly what's standing across the ring from
you."
The
champion taps the faceplate of the title belt.
Zack
Brown:
"This championship doesn't come with nights off."
Zack
Brown:
"It doesn't come with easy matches."
Zack
Brown:
"And it definitely doesn't come with excuses."
Larry
Morton:
"So what can the fans expect tonight?"
Zack
Brown:
"They can expect exactly what they've always gotten from me."
The crowd
cheers.
Zack
Brown:
"Everything I've got."
Zack
Brown:
"Because every time I step into that ring, I want to prove why I'm the HCW
World Champion."
Zack looks
directly into the camera.
Zack
Brown:
"And Julius Squeezer deserves my very best."
Larry
nods.
Larry
Morton:
"Thank you for your time, Zack. Good luck tonight."
Zack
Brown:
"Thank you, Larry."
Zack walks
out of frame as the camera returns to ringside.
Sam
Duffy:
"That's the attitude of a champion."
Rick
Granger:
"I'll give Zack this much—he never ducks a challenge."
Sam
Duffy:
"And later tonight he'll have one of the toughest challenges HCW can offer
when he meets Julius Squeezer in our main event."
Rick
Granger:
"That's a match I can't wait to see."
The show
moves on to the next segment.
The camera
returns to ringside as the crowd settles in following the interview with Zack
Brown.
Sam
Duffy:
"Later tonight, Zack Brown and Julius Squeezer will meet in what promises
to be a tremendous main event."
Rick
Granger:
"And if Zack thinks that's going to be easy, he's fooling himself."
Sam
Duffy:
"Up next, we've got a very interesting matchup as Graves Mercer goes
one-on-one with Cassius Onyx."
Rick
Granger:
"Two men who have very different views of the world, Sam."
"Ashes
and Iron" by Hollow Divide begins to play.
The crowd
responds positively as Graves Mercer emerges onto the stage.
Mercer
pauses for a moment at the top of the ramp, surveying the arena before making
his way toward the ring. There is a quiet confidence about him tonight as he
remains focused on the task ahead.
Sam
Duffy:
"Graves Mercer has continued to gain momentum over the past several
months."
Rick
Granger:
"I still haven't figured him out. Some nights he acts like a hero, some
nights he acts like he doesn't care what anybody thinks."
Sam
Duffy:
"Maybe that's exactly what makes him dangerous."
Mercer
makes his way down the aisle, occasionally acknowledging the fans but never
taking his eyes off the ring.
He steps
through the ropes and removes his entrance jacket before taking his corner.
The arena
lights suddenly dim.
A low,
ominous tone echoes through the Columbia Coliseum.
"Obsidian
Crown" by Black Horizon begins to play.
Boos rain
down from the crowd as Cassius Onyx slowly walks onto the stage.
Dressed in
black and gold, Cassius surveys the audience with a look of complete
superiority before beginning his deliberate walk to the ring.
Sam
Duffy:
"And here comes Cassius Onyx."
Rick
Granger:
"Now there's a man who knows exactly how good he is."
Sam
Duffy:
"He certainly isn't lacking confidence."
Cassius
ignores the crowd entirely as he makes his way toward the ring.
Every
movement is measured.
Every
glance calculated.
Rick
Granger:
"Look at him. That's not arrogance, Sam. That's certainty."
Sam
Duffy:
"Most people would call it arrogance."
Cassius
climbs onto the apron and steps through the ropes.
Inside the
ring, Graves Mercer never breaks eye contact.
The two
men move toward the center of the ring, neither willing to give an inch.
Sam
Duffy:
"This one could get physical in a hurry."
Rick
Granger:
"Good. That's exactly what I want to see."
Referee
Honest Abe steps between them and begins giving final instructions as the crowd
buzzes with anticipation.
Sam
Duffy:
"Graves Mercer. Cassius Onyx. Up next on Voltage."
The
referee signals for the bell.
The moment
the bell rang, Graves Mercer came out with a sense of urgency, looking to take
the fight directly to Cassius Onyx before the self-proclaimed elite competitor
could establish control.
Mercer
stunned Cassius early with a devastating double-underhook shoulder breaker and
followed it moments later with a suicide dive that sent Onyx crashing to the
floor.
Sam
Duffy:
"Graves Mercer wasting absolutely no time!"
Rick
Granger:
"That's because he knows if Cassius gets comfortable, you're in
trouble."
Back
inside the ring, the pace remained relentless.
Cassius
answered with a series of heavy strikes and power moves, but Mercer refused to
back down. A Cradle Killer Tombstone nearly turned the match in his favor, and
a sitout powerbomb shortly afterward had the crowd believing Mercer might score
a major upset.
Sam
Duffy:
"Graves Mercer has brought his best tonight!"
Rick
Granger:
"And Cassius is finding out this isn't going to be easy."
The two
competitors traded momentum throughout the middle portion of the contest.
Cassius
connected with spinebusters, backbreakers, and his trademark Iron Barrage,
while Mercer continually fought back with Death Valley Drivers, Saito Suplexes,
knee strikes, and additional powerbombs. Neither man could create enough
separation to put the other away.
A turning
point came when Cassius nearly secured a victory following a thunderous
spinebuster. Mercer narrowly escaped the pinfall, drawing a frustrated look
from Onyx.
Sam
Duffy:
"That was close!"
Rick
Granger:
"Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades."
As the
match entered its final stages, fatigue began to show.
Mercer
continued throwing everything he had at Cassius, connecting with another
shoulder breaker, a Saito Suplex, and a crushing knee strike that rocked the
arrogant heel.
But
Cassius weathered the storm.
The
opening finally came when Mercer attempted to continue his offensive assault
and left himself vulnerable.
Cassius
exploded forward and caught him with the Onyx Cataclysm, driving Mercer
violently into the canvas with the pop-up powerbomb.
Sam
Duffy:
"Onyx Cataclysm!"
Rick
Granger:
"That's it! Nobody gets up from that!"
Honest
Abe:
"ONE!"
"TWO!"
"THREE!"
The bell
rings.
Sam
Duffy:
"What a battle these two just had."
Rick
Granger:
"And in the end, Cassius Onyx proved exactly why he's one of the most
dangerous men in HCW."
Cassius
rises to his feet and demands that the referee raise his hand. Meanwhile,
Graves Mercer slowly sits up in the corner, disappointed but having earned the
respect of the audience after pushing Onyx to the limit.
Sam
Duffy:
"Graves Mercer has nothing to be ashamed of after that performance."
Rick
Granger:
"Maybe not. But Cassius Onyx is the one leaving with the victory."
Result: Cassius Onyx defeats Graves Mercer via
pinfall following the Onyx Cataclysm.
The camera
returns to ringside as Cassius Onyx makes his way backstage following his
victory over Graves Mercer.
Sam
Duffy:
"What an impressive win for Cassius Onyx."
Rick
Granger:
"Impressive? That was dominant. Graves Mercer brought everything he had,
and Cassius still found a way to finish him."
Sam
Duffy:
"Graves Mercer certainly didn't make it easy."
Rick
Granger:
"No, but easy or hard, the result is the same."
The camera
pans across the crowd as anticipation begins building for the final match of
the evening.
Sam
Duffy:
"Well, ladies and gentlemen, we've reached the main event."
The crowd
cheers loudly.
Rick
Granger:
"Now we're talking."
Sam
Duffy:
"Earlier tonight, we heard from HCW World Champion Zack Brown."
A brief
replay is shown from Zack's interview with Larry Morton.
Zack
Brown:
"This championship doesn't come with nights off."
The replay
ends.
Sam
Duffy:
"And tonight he'll put those words into action."
Rick
Granger:
"I'll give Zack credit. A lot of champions would have found an excuse to
stay in the locker room."
Sam
Duffy:
"Not Zack Brown."
Rick
Granger:
"Maybe that's admirable. Maybe it's foolish. We're about to find
out."
Sam
Duffy:
"Standing across the ring from him tonight is one of the strongest and
most respected competitors in HCW."
Rick
Granger:
"Julius Squeezer doesn't care about championships tonight."
Sam
Duffy:
"He doesn't?"
Rick
Granger:
"No. He cares about proving he can beat the man holding the
championship."
The crowd
reacts.
Sam
Duffy:
"And that's exactly what makes this such a compelling main event."
Rick
Granger:
"Champion or not, Zack Brown better be ready."
Sam
Duffy:
"World Champion Zack Brown. Julius Squeezer."
Rick
Granger:
"Main event time."
The camera
shifts toward the entrance stage as the crowd begins to buzz in anticipation of
the final match of the evening.
The camera
focuses on the entrance stage as the crowd rises to its feet in anticipation of
the night's main event.
Sam
Duffy:
"This is what we've been waiting for all night."
Rick
Granger:
"Two heavy hitters. No championship on the line, but don't think for a
second that means this match isn't important."
"Pressure
Point" by Steel Divide begins to play.
The crowd
responds with a strong ovation as Julius Squeezer emerges onto the stage.
Julius
pauses for a moment, looking around the Columbia Coliseum before beginning his
walk to the ring. Focused and determined, he wastes no motion and shows no
concern for the noise surrounding him.
Sam
Duffy:
"Julius Squeezer has earned the respect of everyone in HCW through hard
work and perseverance."
Rick
Granger:
"And tonight he has the opportunity to beat the World Champion."
Sam
Duffy:
"That would be a career-defining victory."
Julius
makes his way down the aisle and climbs into the ring. He stretches briefly
before taking his corner, never taking his eyes off the entranceway.
The arena
lights dim.
A
spotlight shines toward the stage.
The crowd
immediately erupts.
"American
Iron" by Liberty Reign begins to play.
Sam
Duffy:
"And here he comes!"
HCW World
Champion Zack Brown steps onto the stage with the World Championship draped
over his shoulder.
The
champion pauses for a moment, looking out over the crowd before raising the
title high into the air.
Rick
Granger:
"I'll say this for Zack Brown—he carries himself like a champion."
Sam
Duffy:
"Because he is a champion."
Zack
begins making his way toward the ring as fans along the barricade reach out to
greet him.
The
champion remains focused but acknowledges the crowd before arriving at
ringside.
Sam
Duffy:
"Zack Brown told Larry Morton earlier tonight that champions don't take
nights off."
Rick
Granger:
"We're about to find out if he meant it."
Zack
climbs onto the apron and steps through the ropes.
He removes
the World Championship from his shoulder and raises it high above his head as
the crowd cheers loudly.
Across the
ring, Julius Squeezer stands ready.
Neither
man backs down.
Neither
man looks away.
Sam
Duffy:
"Respect on both sides."
Rick
Granger:
"Respect is fine. The bell rings, then it's business."
Zack hands
the championship to the referee before moving to his corner.
The crowd
buzzes with anticipation as Honest Abe checks both competitors.
Sam
Duffy:
"World Champion Zack Brown."
Rick
Granger:
"Julius Squeezer."
Sam
Duffy:
"It's time for our main event."
The
referee signals for the bell.
The crowd
was already energized before the opening bell, and the two competitors wasted
no time showing exactly why they were positioned in the main event.
Zack Brown
came out aggressively, looking to establish himself as the World Champion from
the opening moments. A pair of Bossman Slams rattled Julius Squeezer early, and
before long Zack had the challenger trapped in the K-9 Clutch for the first
time. The hold was locked in tightly, but Julius refused to give in.
Sam
Duffy:
"Julius Squeezer is already being pushed to his limit!"
Rick
Granger:
"That's what happens when you step in the ring with the World
Champion."
Despite
the difficult start, Julius slowly began finding openings.
A series
of back elbows and vertical suplexes helped him regain momentum before a
crushing Gorilla Squeeze brought the crowd to life. Moments later, Julius
followed with a devastating double-underhook powerbomb that left Zack reeling
for the first time in the contest.
Sam
Duffy:
"Julius Squeezer just changed the complexion of this match!"
Rick
Granger:
"I told you this wasn't going to be easy."
The two
men spent the next several minutes trading momentum back and forth.
Every time
Zack appeared ready to pull away, Julius answered.
Every time
Julius gained control, Zack responded.
The
champion connected with a Sniper Strike, a Lawman Lariat, and a thunderous
Paratrooper Plunge that nearly ended the match. Zack immediately hooked the
leg.
One...
Two...
Julius
kicked out.
The crowd
erupted.
Sam
Duffy:
"How in the world did he survive that?!"
Rick
Granger:
"Because Julius Squeezer is tougher than people give him credit for."
Later,
Zack scored another near fall after a crushing Lawman Lariat, but once again
Julius refused to stay down.
As the
match crossed the midway point, the pace somehow intensified.
Julius
blasted Zack with another double-underhook powerbomb.
Zack
answered with a football tackle.
Julius
countered with a Steinerline.
Zack
trapped him in the K-9 Clutch again.
Still
Julius refused to surrender.
Sam
Duffy:
"This has become a war of attrition."
Rick
Granger:
"And neither man wants to blink first."
The
champion continued targeting Julius with power offense and submissions,
repeatedly attempting to wear down the larger challenger. Zack even
transitioned into a painful backbreaker submission, but Julius somehow powered
through the punishment and fought his way free.
The
Columbia Coliseum crowd rose to its feet as the final stretch approached.
Julius
connected with another Gorilla Squeeze.
Zack fired
back with a Bossman Slam.
Julius
countered a football tackle.
Zack
answered with another Paratrooper Plunge.
Both men
looked exhausted but neither would stay down.
Sam
Duffy:
"I don't know how much either man has left!"
Rick
Granger:
"Apparently more than the other guy!"
The final
minutes became a desperate struggle.
Every
strike mattered.
Every
counter mattered.
Every
second mattered.
Julius
continued throwing suplexes and shoulder blocks.
Zack
continued answering with slams, lariats, and submission attempts.
Neither
man could secure the knockout blow.
With the
clock winding down, Julius launched Zack with a massive belly-to-belly suplex.
The crowd
counted along as both men struggled to get back to their feet.
But before
either competitor could capitalize—
The bell
rings repeatedly.
The crowd
immediately rises for a standing ovation.
Tony
"Echo" Calibur:
"Ladies and gentlemen, the thirty-minute time limit has expired! This
match has been declared a draw!"
Sam
Duffy:
"What a match!"
Rick
Granger:
"I hate draws, but I can't complain about that one."
Both men
remain seated on the canvas, exhausted from thirty minutes of battle.
The crowd
chants for both competitors as Zack Brown slowly rises and looks across the
ring at Julius Squeezer.
What
happens next would leave the entire arena stunned...
The crowd
remains on its feet as both competitors slowly rise from the canvas.
Exhausted.
Sweating.
Barely
able to stand after thirty grueling minutes.
The chants
begin almost immediately.
"JULIUS!"
"ZACK!"
"JULIUS!"
"ZACK!"
Sam
Duffy:
"Listen to this crowd!"
Rick
Granger:
"They know they just saw something special."
Zack Brown
leans against the ropes for a moment before pushing himself upright.
Across the
ring, Julius Squeezer does the same.
The two
men lock eyes.
The crowd
begins applauding once more.
Slowly,
Zack walks toward the center of the ring.
Julius
watches cautiously.
Nobody
knows what the World Champion is about to do.
Then Zack
extends his hand.
The crowd
erupts.
Sam
Duffy:
"What a moment!"
Julius
looks at the offered hand.
He nods.
Then
accepts it.
The crowd
roars as the two competitors shake hands in the center of the ring.
Rick
Granger:
"That's respect."
Zack asks
for a microphone.
A ringside
attendant quickly hands one into the ring.
The crowd
settles as Zack looks toward Julius.
Zack
Brown:
"When I agreed to this match..."
The crowd
quiets.
Zack
Brown:
"...I knew Julius Squeezer was one of the toughest men in HCW."
Applause.
Zack
Brown:
"Tonight proved it."
More
applause.
Zack
Brown:
"I threw everything I had at you."
Zack
Brown:
"You survived."
Zack
Brown:
"You fought me for thirty minutes."
Zack
Brown:
"And when that bell rang..."
Zack nods.
Zack
Brown:
"...I still couldn't beat you."
The crowd
reacts loudly.
Sam
Duffy:
"He's right."
Zack
Brown:
"So I've got something to say."
The
audience grows louder.
Zack
Brown:
"I don't make matches."
Zack
Brown:
"That's Max McGillicutty's job."
A few
cheers.
Zack
Brown:
"But if anybody asks me who deserves the next opportunity at this
championship..."
Zack
removes the World Championship from his shoulder.
The crowd
begins to buzz.
Zack
Brown:
"...my answer is Julius Squeezer."
The
Columbia Coliseum explodes.
Sam
Duffy:
"OH MY!"
Rick
Granger:
"Are you kidding me?!"
Julius
looks genuinely surprised.
Zack
Brown:
"You earned it."
Zack
Brown:
"And if Max agrees..."
Zack
raises the title between them.
Zack
Brown:
"...I'll see you again."
The crowd
roars.
The camera
immediately cuts backstage.
Backstage
– Max McGillicutty's Office
Max
McGillicutty sits behind his desk watching the monitor.
A smile
slowly spreads across his face.
He reaches
for a nearby microphone connected to production.
Max
McGillicutty:
"I approve."
The crowd
in the arena erupts as Max's voice echoes throughout the building.
Sam
Duffy:
"HE APPROVES!"
Rick
Granger:
"Well there you have it!"
Back in
the Ring
Julius
Squeezer looks stunned.
The crowd
begins chanting again.
"JULIUS!"
"JULIUS!"
"JULIUS!"
Zack
extends his hand a second time.
This time
Julius shakes it firmly.
The World
Champion then raises Julius's arm.
The crowd
gives both men a standing ovation.
Sam
Duffy:
"What a conclusion to an incredible night of HCW Voltage!"
Rick
Granger:
"Thirty minutes wasn't enough to separate them."
Sam
Duffy:
"And now we're going to get the rematch!"
Rick
Granger:
"For the World Championship!"
Sam
Duffy:
"Tonight we saw The Stillwell Angel earn another opportunity."
Rick
Granger:
"Avery St. Claire officially challenged Luciana Albano."
Sam
Duffy:
"Cassius Onyx picked up a huge victory."
Rick
Granger:
"And now Julius Squeezer has earned the biggest opportunity of his
career."
Sam
Duffy:
"For Rick Granger, I'm Sam Duffy thanking you for joining us for another
installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter."
Rick
Granger:
"We'll see you next time."
Sam
Duffy:
"Good night, everybody!"
The final
image shows Zack Brown and Julius Squeezer standing side-by-side in the ring as
Zack raises the HCW World Championship high into the air and the crowd
continues cheering.
