[Voltage Intro Rolls — Pyro shoots, crowd’s on fire, and the camera zooms into the announce desk with Sam Duffy and Rick Granger.]
Sam Duffy:
“Hello wrestling fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter! You’re watching Voltage, and we are coming off the chaos of Meltdown—only to land straight into the iron grip of the Dark Dominion!”
Rick Granger:
“Oh boo-hoo, Sam. You make it sound like a bad thing. I call it order. Seven of the eight titles in HCW—seven, Sam!—are held by Count Vlad’s chosen few. That’s called domination. That’s called brilliance. That’s called finally cleaning house around here.”
Sam Duffy:
“Let’s call it what it really is—a hostile takeover! Jack Lumber as World Champion, Selena Blackfang with the Ladies Title, The Nightstalkers running the tag division, Morningstar with the Hardcore gold, Beastfang as TV Champ, Talia Nocturne holding the Heritage Women’s belt, and Dr. Red Fang and Nightfang as the Heritage Tag Team Champions—”
Rick Granger (interrupting):
“And it’s about time! I’m just glad somebody has the guts to lead this place properly. Max McGillicutty and Count Vlad are doing what no one else could—shaping HCW into perfection.”
Sam Duffy:
“Except one man still stands outside the Dominion’s shadow… Mr. X. The U.S. Champion. And after what we’ve seen lately, you can bet the Dominion’s gunning for that last title.”
Rick Granger:
“Oh please—Mr. X is a walking countdown. Tick-tock, Sammy. Tick. Tock. He’s surrounded on all sides like a deer in a vampire convention.”
Sam Duffy:
“Well he’s still holding strong—for now. But tonight’s Voltage is full of danger signs and big stakes. The Morningstar himself demanded a match tonight—and Max has given it to him. Hardcore Title defense in the main event!”
Rick Granger:
“Because he’s a true champion, Sam. Unlike half this locker room that needs emotional support before they even tie their boots.”
Sam Duffy:
“Also tonight: Penny Hall vs. Lavender Gooms…both women without a win. Tonight, one of them gets the W… and Thaddeus Zestwell takes on Lightning Ethan Hayes in what could be another lesson in ego gone wrong.”
Rick Granger:
“I hope Thaddeus shuts his lights out. Ethan’s too chipper for someone who loses as much as he does.”
Sam Duffy:
“TNT returns to action against Kellyn Chrisari—and Jet Moreno and Diego Estrella square off against The 5th Column. Max has made the stakes crystal clear: if the Column lose, they’re fired.”
Rick Granger:
“Good! Maybe they'll finally stop embarrassing themselves. Honestly, if they lose tonight, I’ll personally help them pack.”
Sam Duffy:
“Plus—‘The Truth Hurts’ returns, and tonight’s guests? Jax Brenner and Molly Mason. That’s a powder keg waiting to explode.”
Rick Granger:
“Hopefully right in Jax’s face. You think just because you stand toe to toe with the Yeti a couple times, you’re untouchable? Please.”
Sam Duffy:
“Fans, Voltage is about to explode. Let’s head to the ring and get this thing started!”
[Camera returns to ringside as the lights pulse violet. “Make Me Cry (Twice)” by Velveteen Ritual hits the speakers.]
Tony Calibur (Ring Announcer):
“The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first… from Honey Hill, Georgia… Lavender Gooms!”
Sam Duffy:
“And here comes a fan favorite, Rick—Lavender Gooms! Her unique blend of powerhouse strikes and big charisma always brings the crowd alive.”
Rick Granger:
“Yeah, if by charisma you mean glitter and shouting. I’ve seen more focus in a salad bar. This woman spends more time picking ring gear than planning strategy.”
Sam Duffy:
“She’s held her own against some of the top names in HCW. And you can bet she’s looking to bounce back after Meltdown.”
[As Lavender climbs a turnbuckle and throws both fists in the air, her theme fades out. The lights shift to a stormy gray-blue as “Spin the Barrel” by The Loopholes kicks in.]
Tony Calibur:
“And her opponent… from Carson City, Nevada… Penny Hall!”
Sam Duffy:
“A lot of fire packed into one punch—Penny Hall doesn’t play around. She’s fast, she’s tenacious, and she’s got one of the meanest left hooks in the women’s division.”
Rick Granger:
“Yeah, she’s angry because nobody remembered to give her personality. She looks like she’s ready to mug someone at a gas station.”
Sam Duffy:
“Rick!”
Rick Granger:
“What? I’m just saying, maybe Penny should smile more. Oh wait, never mind—now I’m the bad guy.”
[Penny stands nose-to-nose with Lavender the moment she enters the ring. No taunts—just a hard stare. Referee “Honest” Abe quickly steps between them.]
Sam Duffy:
“We’ve got two women with something to prove, and neither is looking to play nice. This one could get gritty in a hurry.”
Rick Granger:
“Let ’em swing. First one to knock glitter out of the other’s teeth wins.”
[Ref signals for the bell as the crowd buzzes.]
Sam Duffy:
“Let’s go to the action—Lavender Gooms vs. Penny Hall starts right now!”
Match #1: Lavender Gooms vs Penny Hall
The opening contest on Voltage saw Penny Hall, all grit and heart, step into the ring against a more aggressive and vicious Lavender Gooms, who seemed dead set on ending her winless streak no matter the cost.
From the opening bell, Lavender ditched her usual crowd-popping antics in favor of a punishing, sneering style—slamming Penny with a brutal Press and Slam and following up with heavy offense at every turn. Penny fired back with quick bursts of offense like her Dropkick through the ropes and a sharp Shoulder Block, but Lavender constantly cut her off, dragging the pace into her comfort zone.
Sam Duffy:
“This is a different Lavender Gooms tonight. There’s no sparkle, no showmanship—just spite!”
Rick Granger:
“About time she stopped trying to sell t-shirts and started collecting wins, Sam. Look at her! Vicious. Focused. Dangerous. I love this version of Lavender!”
Despite the crowd willing Penny to rally, Lavender kept pouring it on—locking in her Lavender Lock not once, but twice, grinding Penny down with nasty leg drops and wrenching holds that bent the rulebook. Penny hung in with signature slams and a Penny for Your Thoughts near fall that had the fans gasping—but when she went for a second, Lavender slipped free and stunned her with a sudden Hurricanrana out of nowhere!
Sam Duffy:
“Hurricanrana! Lavender hooks the legs—she’s got the leverage! ONE… TWO… THREE—ugh! Come on!”
Rick Granger:
“She did it! Ha! The streak is over! Lavender Gooms wins and she didn’t have to hug anyone to do it!”
Tony Calibur:
“Here is your winner… Lavender Gooms!”
Lavender rolled to her feet, grinning with cold satisfaction. She didn’t celebrate—she soaked in the boos. Penny clutched the ropes, furious and frustrated, as Lavender sauntered past her like royalty stepping over a peasant.
Sam Duffy:
“That’s her first win of the year, sure—but she earned it with an edge we haven’t seen before.”
Rick Granger:
“And it looks good on her! Penny can cry about it later. Right now, Lavender Gooms just broke the curse. No more glitter—just gold in her future!”
Lavender blew a mocking kiss to the crowd on her way up the ramp, signaling to everyone in the women’s division: she’s not here to play nice anymore.
[Cut to backstage: HCW logo glowing behind them, and Larry Morton stands beside General Manager Max McGillicutty. Max is dressed in a tailored Dominion-black suit with a deep red tie, the faint outline of a Count Vlad lapel pin gleaming under the lights.]
Larry Morton:
“Ladies and gentlemen, I’m here with the General Manager of HCW, Max McGillicutty. Max… tonight, the 5th Column competes in what could be their final match. You made the stakes crystal clear—win or be fired. What brought this on?”
Max McGillicutty (smirking):
“What brought this on, Larry, is reality. You see, while the rest of the world wants to pat underachievers on the back and hand out participation trophies, I deal in results. The Dark Dominion doesn’t tolerate weakness… and neither do I.”
Larry Morton:
“But the 5th Column have been with HCW for a long time. Some would argue they’ve earned their place.”
Max McGillicutty (scoffs):
“Earned it? By what—showing up and losing in record time? Baron von Blood and Zimmerman have become nothing more than stale propaganda. Relics. They couldn’t even hold off the Samoan Bloodline. Now they stand as the last two soldiers defending a lost cause. Tonight… they either evolve or vanish.”
Larry Morton:
“And their opponents—Jet Moreno and Diego Estrella—don’t exactly carry Dominion flags.”
Max McGillicutty (leaning in):
“No… but that’s the point. I’m giving them the rope. What they do with it? That’s up to them. Maybe they shine tonight… maybe they crumble. But if the 5th Column falls to two flashy upstarts, then they have no place in my HCW. To give them one last chance, they get a no DQ, no time limit match.”
Larry Morton (narrowing his eyes):
“Is this about fear of embarrassment—or are you just cleaning house for Count Vlad?”
Max McGillicutty (grinning):
“Larry, fear is for the hunted. I’m the one setting the traps.”
[Max adjusts his cufflinks, straightens his tie, and walks off calmly—no music, no entourage, just quiet confidence.]
Larry Morton (turning to camera):
“Strong words from a man who seems more interested in obedience than opportunity. We’ll see if the 5th Column has one last stand… or if this is the final chapter.”
[Cut back to ringside at the commentary desk with Sam Duffy and Rick Granger.]
Rick Granger (grinning ear to ear):
“Oh, that was beautiful. You see that, Sam? That’s leadership. That’s vision. That’s Max McGillicutty turning this place into a machine—either you run with it or you get crushed under it.”
Sam Duffy:
“Max McGillicutty didn’t sound like a general manager, Rick—he sounded like a man purging anyone who doesn’t bend the knee to the Dark Dominion. The 5th Column might be on shaky ground, but you can’t erase history just because it doesn’t fit the current narrative.”
Rick Granger:
“Please. History doesn’t win matches. Jet and Diego are just the warning shot. The Dominion’s cleaning house and I’ve got the broom ready.”
Sam Duffy:
“Well, the next match may not involve Dominion directly, but it’s certainly going to bring the impact. Up next—TNT returns to Voltage, and he’s going one-on-one with the ever-determined Kellyn Chrisari.”
Rick Granger:
“Chrisari? Come on. He looks like he teaches archery at summer camp. TNT is a walking protein shake with muscles on top of muscles. Kellyn’s got guts, sure—but he’s about to get turned into a pancake.”
[The lights shift to cool blue as “Hawk-Eyed” by Falcon Sleep plays and Kellyn Chrisari emerges to a modest pop from the crowd, composed and focused.]
Tony Calibur (Ring Announcer):
“The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first… from Cedar Ridge, Oregon… Kellyn Chrisari!”
Sam Duffy:
“Chrisari’s got technical instincts, agility, and a sharp mind. He may be outsized, but never count out the guy who knows how to weather a storm.”
Rick Granger:
“Oh I’ll count him out right now. One. Two. Three. Done.”
[Suddenly, thunderous guitar rips through the speakers as “Boom Muscle Anthem” by Atlas Break blares. TNT steps through the curtain, flexing as pyro bursts on both sides. The crowd gives a mixed but loud reaction as the rebranded powerhouse heads to the ring.]
Tony Calibur:
“And his opponent… from the Atomic Fitness Compound in Las Vegas, Nevada… T! N! T!”
Sam Duffy:
“TNT’s transformation over the last year has been stunning. Once seen as the scrappy younger brother of Terror Fang, he’s carved out his own explosive identity—literally and figuratively.”
Rick Granger:
“This is the future, Sam. Look at him! That’s what hard work, a better diet, and no remorse gets you. TNT is the boom this division’s been missing.”
[TNT climbs the ropes and flexes over the hard cam, shouting, “STRONG IS THE STANDARD!” while Kellyn paces in the corner, unshaken.]
Sam Duffy:
“A serious challenge ahead for Kellyn Chrisari—but if he can weather TNT’s power, he may just pull off the upset.”
Rick Granger:
“Upset? Please. This ain’t an upset waiting to happen—this is a seminar in dominance.”
[Referee Honest Abe checks both men and signals for the bell.]
Sam Duffy:
“Let’s find out—TNT vs. Kellyn Chrisari, right now on Voltage!”
Match #2: Kellyn Chrisari vs TNT
From the opening bell, TNT—now fully transformed from forgotten younger brother to walking wrecking ball—made his presence known, smashing Kellyn Chrisari with a Townsend Driver that echoed through the arena.
Rick Granger:
“Look at that! First move of the match and Kellyn’s seeing constellations. He should’ve just called in sick.”
Sam Duffy:
“TNT came out swinging, but Kellyn’s heart can never be underestimated. He’s weathered storms before.”
TNT followed up with a brutal Jaw Jacker, but Kellyn stayed in the fight. With crisp timing, Chrisari nailed his first major offensive sequence: a Raven’s Flight and a lightning-quick pin attempt that only got one—but it showed the crowd he wasn’t going quietly. Kellyn poured on the pressure with a Quiver Dropkick, a Neck Pinch, and a diving Raven’s Flight Body Press.
Sam Duffy:
“Chrisari is chaining his offense together beautifully. He’s using TNT’s size against him—keeping the pace fast, the angles sharp.”
Rick Granger:
“Doesn’t matter! TNT just has to catch him once. This isn’t ballet, it’s a demolition derby—and Templeton’s driving a tank!”
TNT resorted to a vicious eye rake to stop the bleeding, and slammed Chrisari with a Bulldog, trying to slow things down and impose his raw power. Every time Kellyn rallied—another Arrow Storm Kick, another Raven’s Wing Chop—TNT answered back with brute force: suplexes, press slams, and a punishing Powerbomb.
But it was still not enough to keep the Raven grounded. Chrisari kicked out time and again, fighting through three pinfall attempts. The fans began to believe—until TNT dug deep and connected with yet another Townsend Driver, only for Kellyn to reversal-counter into a Raven’s Wing Chop that brought the crowd to its feet!
Sam Duffy:
“HE REVERSED IT! Chrisari just clipped TNT’s wings with his own counter!”
Rick Granger:
“HE KICKED OUT AGAIN?! What does TNT have to do—tie the guy to a boulder?!”
In the final stretch, both men unloaded their finishers one last time: Kellyn landed a crisp Eagle’s Talon Slam... but TNT immediately stood up, caught him mid-run, and drilled him with a third Powerbomb—this time, keeping the shoulders down.
Tony Calibur:
“Here is your winner… T! N! T!”
Sam Duffy:
“What a battle! Kellyn Chrisari gave everything he had—but TNT just would not be denied.”
Rick Granger:
“You’re looking at the future, Sam. Bigger. Meaner. No excuses. That’s what happens when you stop being Terror Fang’s kid brother and start being your own explosion.”
TNT stood tall in the ring, flexing his arms and yelling, “STRONG IS THE STANDARD!” while Chrisari sat on the mat, clutching his ribs but earning the crowd’s respect.
THE TRUTH HURTS WITH TRUTH WAYNE
[Scene: The Truth Hurts set—a grand den-like room, with rich wood paneling, plush leather chairs, and a roaring fireplace casting flickering shadows across the scene. Jax Brenner and Molly Mason sit stiffly in their chairs, opposite Truth Wayne, who lounges with a smug, confident air. The atmosphere is deceptively cozy, but the tension is palpable as the interview begins.]
Truth Wayne: (leaning back, his tone smug and calculated)
“Well, well, well. Here we are again, folks. Back for another dose of The Truth Hurts, where we pull no punches and tell it like it is. And tonight, I have two very special guests—straight from the fallout of last week’s chaos—the Alaskan Wildman himself, Jax Brenner, and his ever-loyal companion, Molly Mason.”
(He smirks as the crowd cheers for Jax, but some boos ripple through (probably piped in). Molly, still recovering from her attack at the hands of Feral, shifts uncomfortably in her seat, while Jax glares at Truth, his posture tense.)
Truth Wayne: (eyeing Jax with faux concern)
“Jax, buddy, let me start by saying—you look... upset. But can you blame me? After all, what a week you’ve had! Feral, this masked, savage beast, powerbombs poor Molly here through a table. And you—you—you failed to stop it.”
(The crowd gasps (again, piped in) as Jax’s jaw tightens, his hands gripping the arms of his chair. Molly glances down, visibly uncomfortable.)
Truth Wayne: (leaning forward, his voice growing more cutting)
“Let’s face it, Jax—this isn’t the first time, is it? Let me take you back. Years ago, you couldn’t protect your sister, Suzie, from the Sasquatch. And now, here we are, and you’ve failed Molly, too. This Feral character is back for vengeance, and what do you do? Stand there in shock.”
Jax Brenner: (his voice booming as he cuts him off)
“ENOUGH!”
(The crowd cheers as Jax sits forward, his face a storm of anger and frustration.)
Jax Brenner:
“I’m tired of your smug little games, Truth. You don’t know me, and you don’t know what I’ve been through. Feral is not Suzie. She’s not my sister! She’s just another one of Yeti and Vlad’s twisted tricks—a doppelganger, or an actor, or who knows what.”
Truth Wayne: (raising an eyebrow, smirking)
“Another doppelganger? Really? What is it with you and lookalikes, Jax? Or wait—don’t tell me this is another long-lost cousin?”
Jax Brenner: (growling)
“We don’t have any cousins. None of this makes sense! Yeti and Vlad are liars, known liars, and you’re falling right into their trap.”
Truth Wayne: (slyly)
“Ah, Jax, denial is an ugly thing. But let’s put the focus where it belongs. If she’s not Suzie, then who is she? And if she is Suzie... well, Wildman, that would be another failure, wouldn’t it?”
(Before Jax can respond, the camera pans to a corner of the set as a new figure enters the frame. A mysterious man wearing a dark sweater and pants with a long white beard steps into the light, his warm smile contrasting with the tense atmosphere. The crowd gasps, murmurs breaking out as Truth’s expression falters.)
Truth Wayne: (standing, pointing at the man)
“And just who do you think you are, waltzing onto my set uninvited?”
Mysterious Man: (his voice calm yet commanding)
“For someone who prides himself on the truth, you seem to take far too much pleasure in the hurt it causes. You’ve been very naughty, Mr. Wayne.”
(He points a steady finger at Truth, who backs away slightly and retreats to his chair, unnerved. The crowd laughs and cheers as the man turns his attention to Jax and Molly.)
Mysterious Man: (to Molly, warmly)
“Molly, I hope you are doing better.”
(Molly nods shyly, her voice barely a whisper as she avoids his gaze.)
Molly Mason:
“Yes... thank you.”
(The man’s expression softens before he shifts his attention to Jax, his gaze steady and unflinching. Jax’s anger rises, his face hardening as the man addresses him.)
Mysterious Man:
“It’s good to see you again, Jax.”
Jax Brenner: (growling, his voice low and dangerous)
“What are you doing here? I gave up believing in you long ago.”
Mysterious Man: (nodding calmly)
“Yes, I know. Your belief has waned. But I couldn’t stand by and watch the torment Yeti is putting you through. You need to know the truth and accept it in order to face the trials ahead.”
Jax Brenner: (snarling)
“And what truth would that be?”
Mysterious Man: (his voice steady, with weight)
“She is what your sister has become. Feral is your sister, Jax. After she embraced her bestial side and allowed the darkness to consume her, the Suzie you knew was lost. The innocent, joyful child you loved is gone—replaced by the vengeful beast.”
(Jax stares at the man, his face a mix of rage and grief. Tears well in his eyes as he shakes his head, refusing to believe it.)
Jax Brenner: (his voice trembling)
“It can’t be... it’s not possible...”
Mysterious Man: (gently)
“It is the truth, Jax. And only by knowing the truth and accepting it will you be able to triumph over the evil that lies ahead.”
(Jax’s grief hardens into resolve. His jaw clenches as he pushes back tears and stands abruptly, glaring at the man.)
Jax Brenner: (his voice firm)
“If that’s the case, then I’ll make them pay for what they did.”
(He storms off the set, leaving Molly to follow. But the man gently places a hand on her shoulder, stopping her.)
Mysterious Man: (kindly)
“Please, stay true to him. He will need your light to guide him through the dark road ahead.”
(Molly looks at him, unsure but determined, before nodding and leaving the set. Truth Wayne, now visibly more relaxed, leans back in his chair, smirking at the camera.)
Truth Wayne: (mockingly)
“Well, folks, what a wild ride that was. But hey, what do I always say? The truth hurts. Until next time.”
(The camera fades to black as the crowd buzzes with anticipation for what’s to come.)
[Voltage returns from commercial with the tail-end of the Truth Hurts segment replaying briefly in slow motion—Jax clenching his fists, Molly’s expression tight, Truth Wayne’s smirk frozen.]
Sam Duffy:
“Well… things are only getting more tense between Jax Brenner and the Dark Dominion, and Molly Mason’s caught right in the crosshairs. Truth Wayne may have lit the fuse—but I have a feeling that explosion’s coming sooner than later.”
Rick Granger:
“Explosion? That was a meltdown in a pressure cooker, Sam. And you know what? I loved every second of it. Jax looked like he was gonna cry. I haven’t had that much fun since Vlad played musical champions with the tag division!”
Sam Duffy:
“Speaking of family drama… we’ve got another one brewing right here. ‘Lightning’ Ethan Hayes has been the moral compass in his long-standing issues with Thaddeus Zestwell, who’s been trying to ‘reclaim’ the family legacy in his own twisted image.”
[Arena lights shift to electric blue as “Run Like Thunder” by RevVolt blasts through the speakers. Ethan Hayes bursts through the curtain, high-energy as always, slapping hands and hyping the crowd.]
Tony Calibur:
“The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first… from Sparks, Nevada… ‘Lightning’ Ethan Hayes!”
Rick Granger:
“Here comes the walking motivational poster. Ethan Hayes—proof that even if you smile through failure, you’re still just failing.”
Sam Duffy:
“Say what you will, Rick, but Ethan has heart. He’s been on the wrong end of a few rough nights, but he always bounces back.”
Rick Granger:
“Yeah, and he always loses bouncing back. Maybe tonight’s the night he finally gets it through that lightning-shocked skull of his.”
[Ethan poses on the middle rope, arms outstretched, lightning bolts on his tights glittering under the lights. Music fades—replaced by a slow, discordant symphony of strings and digital glitches. “Legacy in My Blood” by Nocturne Altar pulses through the arena.]
Tony Calibur:
“And his opponent… from New Crest, Connecticut… Thaddeus Zestwell!”
[Thaddeus walks slowly down the ramp, eyes narrowed, jaw clenched, in a black and white robe with gold trim. His demeanor is all control—no showboating, no smiles. Just purpose.]
Sam Duffy:
“Thaddeus Zestwell is many things—cold, controlling, ruthless. But lately, it feels like he’s become even more dangerous. He’s no longer wrestling to win. He’s wrestling to correct people.”
Rick Granger:
“He calls it a family ‘reformation.’ I call it entertainment, Sam. The guy's got standards, and he’s tired of Ethan Hayes dragging the Zestwell name through motivational speaker mud puddles.” (editor’s note, Ethan actually never did. Rick is just being a jerk).
[Thaddeus steps through the ropes slowly, never breaking eye contact with Ethan. He removes his robe with precision and hands it to a ringside attendant like he’s handing over a court order.]
Sam Duffy:
“You can feel the tension. Ethan fights with emotion. Thaddeus fights with calculation. This one’s going to get personal… fast.”
Rick Granger:
“Let it! Ethan’s about to find out that lightning strikes fast… but legacies strike forever.”
[Referee Honest Abe checks both men, then signals for the bell.]
Sam Duffy:
“Let’s get to it—Zestwell vs. Hayes, next on Voltage!”
Match #3: Thaddeus Zestwell vs Ethan Hayes
This match was never just about wins and losses—it was about identity. Ethan Hayes, the eternal optimist, versus Thaddeus Zestwell, the self-appointed enforcer of “family legacy.” And from the opening bell, the sparks flew.
Ethan struck first with a sharp Twist of Fury Neckbreaker, keeping Thaddeus guessing with a barrage of aerial attacks, including multiple Swanton Bombs and his signature Sitout Gourdbusters. Every time Thaddeus tried to slow the pace with headlocks or his deliberate, grinding strikes, Ethan fired right back with speed and agility.
Sam Duffy:
“Ethan Hayes is out here proving you can fight with heart and still win! He’s outmaneuvering Thaddeus at every turn!”
Rick Granger:
“Oh sure, he’s fast. But he’s like a mosquito. You swat him enough times, eventually he stays down.”
Thaddeus finally grounded Hayes with a vicious Jersey Driver, followed by his methodical Slow Motion Kicks—but the crowd refused to die out. Ethan kept kicking out, kept fighting, kept moving. As the match passed the 15-minute mark, Ethan attempted a Poetry in Motion—but mistimed it, getting caught in the ropes.
Sam Duffy:
“Hayes is tangled up—his leg’s caught in that second rope! He’s trying to free himself—this could be trouble!”
Rick Granger:
“Referee’s distracted, here’s the perfect time for Thaddeus to end it. Hit him while he’s tied up like a piñata!”
But before Thaddeus could pounce, the crowd erupted. A figure hopped the barricade—Owen Zestwell, hoodie pulled tight, stormed the ring behind Thaddeus, steel chair in hand!
Sam Duffy:
“Wait a second—WAIT A MINUTE—THAT’S OWEN ZESTWELL! THAT’S OWEN!”
Rick Granger:
“What the—he’s supposed to be suspended! Get security down here—what’s he doing?!”
Owen spun Thaddeus around and drilled him with the Orange Fury right onto the steel chair! The crowd came unglued as Owen tossed the chair aside, dragged his half-brother back into the ring, and disappeared into the audience before 'Honest' Abe even turned around.
Sam Duffy:
“Owen just sent a message to his twisted brother—and it was loud and clear!”
Rick Granger:
“That was assault! He should be arrested! Fired! Banished from Connecticut!”
With Thaddeus dazed and sprawled, Ethan finally broke free from the ropes, climbed the turnbuckle, and launched a perfectly timed Poetry in Motion, crashing down onto Trouble Zestwell.
Sam Duffy:
“Cover! ONE! TWO! THREE—YES! YES, HE DID IT!”
Tony Calibur:
“Here is your winner… ‘Lightning’ Ethan Hayes!”
Rick Granger:
“This is a travesty. He didn’t win that—Owen won that. That’s a stolen victory!”
Sam Duffy:
“Call it what you want, Rick—but justice just showed up in a hoodie and swung a chair. Ethan Hayes survives tonight, but the Zestwell family war just escalated to a whole new level!”
Ethan celebrated on the second rope, holding up a single fist as the crowd roared—while Thaddeus Zestwell lay face-down in the center of the ring, surrounded by the wreckage of both his plans and his pride.
Backstage Confrontation
[Scene: Backstage at HCW Live Wire—the tension crackles like static as the Mystery Man comes face to face with Yeti, Count Vlad, and Feral. The dim lighting casts long shadows across the imposing figures, their presence suffocating the air with menace. Yeti looms over the Mystery Man, his voice deep and guttural, filled with disdain.]
Yeti: (growling)
“You don’t belong here, old man.”
Mystery Man: (with a warm but firm smile)
“Hello, Yeti. I wish I could say it’s good to see you again.”
Yeti: (chuckling darkly)
“You should have stayed up North where you belong... How are those ribs anyway?”
(The Mystery Man remains calm, standing tall as he meets Yeti’s glare without flinching.)
Mystery Man: (his tone unwavering)
“They’re perfectly fine. And I will go where hope is needed, whether you like it or not.”
(Count Vlad steps forward, his posture exuding confidence and theatrical charisma. His voice, smooth and venomous, cuts through the tension like a knife.)
Count Vlad: (smirking, with a touch of charm)
“Hope, old friend? Hope is for the weak—an illusion for those too afraid to embrace the inevitable. Something you will find out all too soon.”
Mystery Man: (his expression calm but resolute)
“You think the Darkness will overtake all, but you underestimate our will and resolve. There are many battles ahead in this war to be had, Vlad.”
(Yeti grins wickedly, stepping closer to the Mystery Man, his voice dripping with malice.)
Yeti:
“It will be my pleasure to finish you once and for all.”
Mystery Man: (his voice tinged with sadness but unwavering)
“Oh, Bumble… the dark influences have taken hold of you, but I know there is still good inside you.”
(At the mention of the name "Bumble," Yeti freezes, his nostrils flaring, before exploding with rage. He steps directly into the Mystery Man’s face, roaring furiously.)
Yeti: (yelling)
“I AM YETI! ALPHA BEAST! APEX PREDATOR! And by my hands, you will be destroyed! NEVER call me that name again!”
(Despite the towering beast’s fury, the Mystery Man remains steady, his warm eyes reflecting a touch of sorrow. The confrontation brims with unspoken history as the crowd watching on the screens buzzes with speculation.)
(Just then, GM Max McGillicutty, HCW’s General Manager and the Supreme Strategist for the Dark Dominion, storms into the frame, flanked by security guards. His booming voice echoes through the backstage area.)
GM Max McGillicutty: (sternly to the Mystery Man)
“That’s enough! I’ll not have you bring your North Pole tidings here. You don’t belong here and you need to leave the premises—now.”
(The security team steps forward, ushering the Mystery Man out of the confrontation. He turns to Max with a nod, his expression unchanging. As he walks away, he casts one last glance at Yeti, Vlad, and Feral.)
Mystery Man: (calmly)
“This isn’t over. Hope will not falter, no matter how much you try to snuff it out.”
(Yeti growls low, his fists clenching, while Count Vlad’s smirk grows wider. Feral tilts her head slightly, watching the Mystery Man leave with a feral curiosity.)
(The scene fades as the Mystery Man is escorted away but turns back and catches one last look at Feral, a tear comes to his eye, leaving the sinister trio to bask in their moment of apparent triumph.)
[Camera returns to ringside. The crowd is buzzing from the last match and the drama backstage. The lights pulse, and Rick and Sam are back at the commentary desk.]
Sam Duffy:
“Well folks, we’ve got a huge tag team match coming your way next—Diego Estrella and Jet Moreno against the 5th Column. But just moments ago, we were handed this update from Max McGillicutty’s office.”
Rick Granger (mock shock):
“Oh no, what could it be, Sam? Did Max do his job again? How dare he!”
Sam Duffy (ignoring him):
“This match is now officially No Disqualification… and No Time Limit. That means anything goes—and it won’t end until there’s a winner.”
Rick Granger:
“Good! Maybe now the 5th Column will stop whining and start winning. Max gave them a lifeline—and now he’s removed all their excuses.”
Sam Duffy:
“Or he’s setting them up to fail. Let’s not forget—Max made it clear: if Baron von Blood and Zimmerman lose this match, they’re fired. No appeals. No second chances.”
Rick Granger:
“That’s not punishment, that’s mercy! The 5th Column hasn’t won a meaningful match since the Cold War. They lose tonight, they get to stop embarrassing Count Vlad.”
[“Firefly Rebellion” by Solar Scream hits the speakers, and Diego Estrella bursts onto the stage under a cascade of lights. Jet Moreno follows, springing from the entrance tunnel with a wide grin and big energy. The crowd comes alive.]
Tony Calibur (Ring Announcer):
“The following tag team contest is now No Disqualification and No Time Limit! The losing team will be terminated from HCW! Introducing first, at a combined weight of 392 pounds… Diego Estrella and ‘The Human Launchpad’ Jet Moreno!”
Sam Duffy:
“These two may be new partners, but they’ve clicked fast—and they’re fearless. Diego’s precision, Jet’s innovation… together, they’re a dangerous mix.”
Rick Granger:
“Yeah, dangerous like glitter and fireworks. But tonight, they’re not just fighting the 5th Column—they’re fighting for the careers of two men who’ve bled for this company.”
[The lights dim. A harsh red spotlight sweeps across the crowd. “Shadow March” by Verfall Regiment rumbles through the arena. Baron von Blood and Oswald Zimmerman march down the ramp stone-faced, cloaked in black.]
Tony Calibur:
“And their opponents… representing the 5th Column… Baron von Blood and Oswald Zimmerman!”
Sam Duffy:
“Pressure doesn’t even begin to describe what these two are under. This could be the final march of the 5th Column.”
Rick Granger:
“Then make it count, boys. Either rise for the cause—or get steamrolled by the future.”
[The 5th Column steps into the ring slowly, staring down Jet and Diego from opposite corners. Referee Honest Abe holds up his hands—no DQ, no rules, just mayhem.]
Sam Duffy:
“This one’s going to be chaos. Careers are on the line. And with no time limit and no disqualifications… anything can happen.”
Rick Granger:
“And something better happen, or we’re going to see pink slips before dessert.”
[Bell rings.]
Sam Duffy:
“Here we go—Diego and Jet vs. the 5th Column… and it’s all or nothing!”
Match #4: Diego Estrella and Jet Moreno vs the 5th Column. Max says that if the Column loses, they will be fired.
After nearly a decade in HCW, the 5th Column marched to the ring knowing this could be their final battle—and what followed was a brutal, desperate fight filled with steel, spite, and surprises.
From the opening bell, Baron von Blood and Oswald Zimmerman attacked like men with nothing to lose. They double-teamed Diego Estrella with impunity, battering him with a German Lariat, ear ringer, and a trio of low blows from Zimmerman. Brass knuckles came out, ropes were used as weapons—every trick they had, they used.
Sam Duffy:
“This isn’t a match—it’s an execution attempt. The 5th Column knows their time’s running out, and they’re throwing every bit of Cold War grit into this fight!”
Rick Granger:
“They should’ve fought like this two years ago, Sam. Maybe then they’d still be relevant.”
But Diego Estrella never stopped fighting. Absorbing punishment like a man possessed, he exploded with counter-offense—Benadryllers, Northern Lights Suplexes, and a near match-ending Standing Shooting Star Press that brought the crowd to their feet.
Just when Diego seemed overwhelmed again and Jet Moreno still hadn’t tagged in, the arena erupted—charging down the ramp came Samoan Stomper Raku and Tumu “The Island Beast” Vaega of the Samoan Bloodline, the team who had been locked in a months-long war with the 5th Column.
Sam Duffy:
“IT’S RAKU! THE BLOODLINE IS HERE! THEY WANT THE LAST WORD!”
Rick Granger:
“No! No! This was supposed to be THEIR moment! Not these coconut crushers!”
Raku yanked Zimmerman off the apron and Samoan Dropped him onto the floor, while Tumu steamrolled von Blood into the barricade with a flying body block. The crowd exploded as the Bloodline stood over the fallen Column… and then calmly backed away, nodding to Diego.
Sam Duffy:
“The message is loud and clear—you don’t walk away from war. Not in HCW.”
With Zimmerman incapacitated outside and von Blood staggering to his feet, Diego launched into one final Standing Shooting Star Press, crashing onto Baron’s chest and hooking the leg deep.
Tony Calibur:
“Here are your winners… Diego Estrella and Jet Moreno!”
Rick Granger:
“That's it… that’s the end. Nine years. No titles. No ceremony. Just kicked out the back door.”
The bell rang, and for the first time since 2016, there would be no Baron von Blood. No Oswald Zimmerman. The 5th Column were gone.
Sam Duffy:
“They fought. They clawed. They bent the rules and broke bodies—but it wasn’t enough. Diego Estrella and Jet Moreno survived… and the 5th Column’s final march has ended.”
Rick Granger:
“And the Samoan Bloodline made sure they stayed down. That was vengeance. And I’ll be honest, Sam—that part? I didn’t hate.”
[Security stood at the top of the ramp. Baron and Zimmerman, bruised and furious, locked eyes with the Samoan Bloodline one last time as fans chanted, “NAH NAH HEY HEY GOODBYE.” Diego stood tall in the ring, Jet now at his side, arms raised—not just as winners, but as survivors.]
[Backstage Segment – Trouble in the Office]
[Camera cuts backstage after the Ethan Hayes victory. Thaddeus Zestwell storms through a hallway, hair wild, face red with fury, and his voice bellowing.]
Thaddeus Zestwell (shouting):
“OOWWWWWEEEENNNNNN!! OWEN! I KNOW IT WAS YOU!!”
[He kicks open the door to Max McGillicutty’s office, breathing heavy like a steam engine.]
Thaddeus Zestwell:
“He assaulted me! In front of everyone! That coward didn’t even come down the ramp—he snuck through the crowd like a criminal! I want Owen next week—I WANT HIM!”
[Max McGillicutty looks up slowly from a folder, unimpressed. He folds his hands over the desk calmly, eyes narrowed.]
Max McGillicutty:
“You want Owen? Let’s talk about something else first… your win-loss record.”
[Thaddeus stops pacing, blinking in confusion.]
Max McGillicutty:
“You’ve been here what—five months? A Zestwell by name, sure. But the results? They’re not where they should be. You lose to underdogs. You complain more than you conquer. That’s not Dominion material.”
Thaddeus Zestwell (snarling):
“My record isn’t the issue—Owen attacked me! This is about family betrayal!”
Max McGillicutty:
“And I do love family drama—it sells tickets. But I don’t hand out matches based on tantrums. So here’s what’s going to happen: take the rest of the night off. Cool off. Come back next week. I’ll give you a match.”
[Thaddeus leans in close, suspicious.]
Max McGillicutty (grinning slightly):
“If you win that match, you get Owen Zestwell. No excuses, no waiting. But if you lose...”
[He lets the pause hang just long enough.]
Max McGillicutty:
“…well. We’ll reevaluate whether you really belong on my roster.”
[Thaddeus glares, fists clenched, nostrils flaring. He storms out the door in silence, slamming it shut behind him.]
[Max smirks and leans back in his chair.]
Max McGillicutty (quietly):
“One week, Trouble… better make it count.”
Max stops and picks up the phone to make a call. We do not hear what transpires on the other end.
Max McGillicutty:
“Hello, this is Max. Can you put him on?
Yeah…about what we spoke about earlier….
Let’s do it. Send me what you need…..
Sounds good. I’ll keep you updated….
Thanks.”
[Cut to backstage near the gothic HCW Voltage backdrop. Standing in the middle, microphone in hand, is interviewer Candace Hart, flanked by the ever-imposing Morningstar—black cloak draped over his shoulders, Hardcore Title around his waist—and the commanding presence of Count Vlad, eyes burning with quiet calculation.]
Candace Hart:
“Ladies and gentlemen, I’m joined now by Count Vlad and the reigning HCW Hardcore Champion, the Morningstar—also known as Hell’s Fang. Later tonight, Morningstar defends his title in our main event. Count Vlad, what should the HCW roster expect?”
[Vlad offers a slow, measured smile before speaking, his accent curling around each syllable like silk wrapping steel.]
Count Vlad:
“What they should expect, Candace… is pain. And finality. The Hardcore Championship is not merely a title—it is a declaration. It belongs not to the man who survives the chaos… but to the one who commands it. And there is no greater commander of chaos… than Hell’s Fang.”
[Morningstar tilts his head slowly, eyes fixed beyond the camera, as if already imagining his next victim.]
The Morningstar (quietly):
“They send lambs into fire… and wonder why they scream. Let them scream. Let them burn.”
[Candace stiffens slightly but continues.]
Candace Hart:
“Tonight’s match—at your own request—puts you in the main event. Are you concerned at all about backlash from the locker room? Maybe even Jax Brenner or Mr. X?”
Count Vlad (smiling again):
“I welcome backlash. It tells me we are still feared. As for Jax Brenner, he has his hands full with the Yeti and Mr. X… he has a title but he is no champion. When the time comes… his walls will fall.”
[Vlad begins to turn away—but then pauses mid-motion. He leans slightly toward Candace, eyes narrowing curiously. He gestures vaguely near her hair.]
Count Vlad (softly, but unmistakably):
“Ah… the crimson returns. Much better. Blonde was… misplaced. But this? This is the flame that suits you.”
[Candace, taken aback, recovers with a quick, awkward smile as Morningstar stares on silently. Vlad turns fully now, stepping past the camera with eerie grace.]
Count Vlad (as he walks off):
“Tonight, Hell’s Fang will make an example. And when the blood dries, the message will remain… Dominion reigns.”
[Hell’s Fang lingers behind for one more second, staring through Candace with soulless intensity before following Vlad into the shadows.]
Candace Hart (quietly to camera):
“…Back to you at ringside.”
[The arena lights lower as the voltage crackles one last time for the night. The crowd hums in anticipation as Sam and Rick settle back in at the announce desk.]
Sam Duffy:
“It’s main event time here on Voltage, and tonight’s Hardcore Championship match won’t just test endurance—it may destroy it. Because this one… is under Devil’s Playground rules.”
Rick Granger:
“Translation: no disqualifications, no count-outs, weapons encouraged, and the fight can spill anywhere in the building. Basically, Sam—it’s bring your own chaos.”
Sam Duffy:
“And stepping into the chaos first… is a man who’s used to having a partner in his corner. But tonight, he walks alone.”
[The opening riff of “Stand and Strike” by Neon Javelin hits the speakers, and the crowd immediately pops. Bursting through the curtain is Chris “Thunderstrike” Thompson of the Dynamic Duo, pounding his chest, pointing to the fans, and hyping the energy in the building.]
Tony Calibur (Ring Announcer):
“The following contest is for the HCW Hardcore Championship, and will be fought under Devil’s Playground rules! Introducing first… the challenger… from Raleigh, North Carolina… weighing in at 228 pounds… Chris ‘Thunderstrike’ Thompson!”
Sam Duffy:
“Chris Thompson is no stranger to danger—he’s flown off ladders, crashed through tables, and bled with the best of them. But tonight… he steps into the dark.”
Rick Granger:
“More like into a buzzsaw. This guy’s brave, sure—but against Hell’s Fang? That’s like stepping into traffic with a glow stick and a prayer.”
[Chris climbs the turnbuckle, throwing up the ‘Dynamic Duo’ hand signal, drawing more cheers. Then, the cheers begin to sour as the lights abruptly cut to black.]
[A dark crimson glow fills the stage. “From Ashes to Agony” by Children of Wrath rumbles like thunder across the speakers. Silhouetted in the red mist is The Morningstar, arms extended, Hardcore Title around his waist. Beside him, like a phantom made flesh, stands Count Vlad, hands behind his back, eyes locked forward.]
Tony Calibur:
“And his opponent… accompanied by Count Vlad… from the Desolate Spiral… he is the reigning and defending HCW Hardcore Champion… HELL’S FANG… THE MORNINGSTAR!”
Rick Granger:
“Oh my… he looks like death came to collect in person. Look at Thompson—he’s still standing, but he’s not smiling now.”
Sam Duffy:
“That man doesn’t just hold the Hardcore Title—he embodies it. This will be unlike anything Chris Thompson has ever faced.”
[Morningstar steps into the ring without a word, removing his cloak with eerie calm as Vlad walks the perimeter slowly, whispering something inaudible toward the announce table. The referee holds up the blood-red Hardcore Championship as the lights return to a flickering pulse.]
Sam Duffy:
“Thompson’s standing tall. Morningstar hasn’t flinched. Count Vlad is smiling… and this match is going to get violent.”
Rick Granger:
“Devil’s Playground, baby. Last one standing gets the crown—and the scars to prove it.”
[Referee ‘Honest’ Abe checks both men—but doesn’t even try to give a rules briefing. He just signals for the bell.]
Sam Duffy:
“Here we go! Hardcore Championship on the line—Hell’s Fang vs. Chris Thompson—Devil’s Playground begins now!”
Match #5: The Main Event: The Morningstar vs Chris Thompson
In the Devil’s Playground, pain is the only constant—and by the end of the night, Chris "Thunderstrike" Thompson would learn exactly why Hell’s Fang is more than a nickname… it's a warning.
The bell had barely finished echoing before both men exploded into action. Thompson stunned the crowd with a superkick out of nowhere, nearly stealing it in the opening minute. But the Morningstar responded with a brutal Shining Wizard, his eyes vacant and cold.
Sam Duffy:
“Chris Thompson came to fight! He wants this title, and he’s throwing everything at the champion!”
Rick Granger:
“He’s gonna need more than superkicks and prayers. This is Hell’s Fang. You don’t just wrestle him—you survive him.”
Thompson kept the pace high, landing a dropkick and even suplexing the champion into a collapsed catering table covered in—what else?—deviled eggs, deviled ham, deviled crab, and devil’s food cake. The crowd roared at the absurdity as the Morningstar groaned beneath broken trays and dessert crumbs.
But humor died quickly.
Hell’s Fang rose from the wreckage like a revenant, and with Count Vlad calmly watching from ringside, the champion locked in the first of three punishing Necromancer’s Delight Half Nelson Chokes throughout the match—each one lasting longer than the last, each one taking a little more from Thompson’s soul.
Sam Duffy:
“Every time Chris tries to build momentum, the Morningstar just smothers it like a dying flame.”
Rick Granger:
“That’s because he doesn’t play in the Devil’s Playground—he built it!”
Thompson wouldn’t quit. He spiked the champion with a Last Rites Rolling Cutter on a pile of hot-smoking faux brimstone, followed by a desperate pin attempt that got within a hair’s breadth of three. The crowd rallied behind him with chants of “Thun-der-strike! Thun-der-strike!”
But it was a brief reprieve.
Hell’s Fang turned the tide with a sickening Loaded Punch—a hidden steel spike under the glove—followed by a final, excruciating Necromancer’s Delight, dragging Thompson to the mat like a ritual sacrifice. Thompson fought. He clawed. He reached. But there was no escape.
Sam Duffy:
“He’s fading—he’s fading—Thompson’s trying to get to the ropes but there are no rope breaks!”
Rick Granger:
“It’s over, Sam. Say your prayers. Hell’s Fang has spoken.”
[Referee 'Honest' Abe signals for the bell.]
Tony Calibur:
“Here is your winner by SUBMISSION… and still HCW Hardcore Champion… Hell’s Fang… the Morningstar!”
Thompson lay crumpled, spent. No music played at first—just the dull hum of the crowd's fury. Then the haunting chords of “From Ashes to Agony” returned as Count Vlad stepped into the ring, placing a hand on his champion’s shoulder.
Together, they stood over Thompson’s fallen body. No celebration. No motion. Just two dark silhouettes towering over a broken man as the Dominion’s grip tightened yet again.
Sam Duffy:
“This company is choking under the Dominion’s shadow. Another brave challenger falls… and the darkness only grows deeper.”
Rick Granger:
“Call it what you want, Sam… but what I see is order. And the Dominion? They just keep winning.”
[The screen fades out on Count Vlad and Hell’s Fang standing victorious—bathed in red light as boos cascade from every corner of the arena.]
[STAY TUNED – THIS ISN’T OVER BY A LONG SHOT]
