Hello wrestling fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter. Tonight, we have our second Live Wire episode and as we continue the march towards Critical Mass, things will continue to heat up.
Pyro goes off and before anything else can begin, the Yeti comes out with Count Vlad and they head down to the ring. The Yeti gets on the mic and demands that his match go first so that he can leave to go “take care of some business”.
GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says that Yeti will get his wish. Max introduces Yeti’s opponent for the evening….Billy Robbins.
Match #1: Yeti w/Count Vlad vs Billy Robbins
the opening bell, Billy Robbins wasted no time, springing into action with a picture-perfect moonsault, catching the monstrous Yeti off guard and landing the first real blow of the night.
Mike “The Voice” Johnson: “Billy Robbins is no stranger to adversity, but Yeti isn’t just an opponent—he’s an avalanche.”
But the avalanche stirred. Yeti shook it off, caught Robbins in a crushing headlock, and slowed the pace to a crawl, suffocating Robbins’ momentum.
Johnny “The Hammer” Harris: “That headlock is like being caught in a glacier… slow, cold, and inescapable.”
Yeti followed with a devastating Tombstone Piledriver, the first of several that echoed through the arena like a thunderclap. Robbins fought back with sheer guts, landing a slingshot smash and a missile dropkick, but Yeti kept rising, relentless and chilling.
Count Vlad (at ringside): “Foolish boy… heart cannot melt the frost.”
Momentum swung wildly in the middle minutes. Robbins dazzled with a flying body press, nearly pinning the behemoth. But Yeti answered each attack with more brutality—another Tombstone, a bearhug, and his signature Abominable Growl, rattling the bones of everyone in the building.
Johnny “The Hammer” Harris: “Three tombstones?! Yeti’s trying to end this kid’s career!”
Still, Robbins wouldn’t quit. He rolled through another assault and reversed a Tombstone attempt, following with a sharp elbow smash. It earned him breathing room—and respect—but the momentum was fleeting.
Count Vlad: “Do you hear the ice crack? That is your hope, breaking.”
In the final stretch, Robbins managed to rattle Yeti with another high-flying body press, but his body was battered. Yeti grabbed him and hurled him out of the ring with terrifying force.
Mike “The Voice” Johnson: “He didn’t beat him—he outlasted him. And there’s nothing more dangerous than a monster with patience.”
Outside, Robbins crawled, desperate to beat the referee’s count. Inside the ring, Yeti stood still. Silent. Menacing.
Count Vlad: “Winter has marked him. The next time… there will be no count.”
The count hit ten. Billy Robbins was unable to return. Yeti wins by count-out.
Johnny “The Hammer” Harris: “He didn’t need to pin him. He just stood there and watched the count. That’s chilling.”
As Yeti lumbered up the ramp beside Vlad, the message was clear: survival is the best one can hope for when the blizzard walks.
Mike “The Voice” Johnson: “Robbins gave it everything—but Yeti doesn’t just win… he endures.”
Max comes back out and announces that in addition to this match, we’ll see the mysterious Kurse in action; Jack Lumber of the Dark Dominion will be in singles competition; Duke Knight takes on the Million Dollar Alliances’ Sterling Silverman and finally, rounding out tonight’s show will be an all Ladies Battle Royal for a title contract. The fans pop as we move on to our next match.
Match #2: Duke Knight vs Sterling Silverman w/ Ruth Heartless
From the get-go, Ruth Heartless tried to play her games, using her looks to distract the valiant Duke Knight. And it worked — at first. Duke Knight was on the defensive early as Sterling 'the Silicon Tycoon' Silverman rained down offense: a crushing Digital Decimator, followed by a nasty Tech Wreck Sidekick. The Tycoon looked like he was downloading Knight into the recycle bin.
Mike ‘the Voice’ Johnson: “Sterling 'the Silicon Tycoon' Silverman was dominating! Ruth Heartless was doing everything short of hacking into the match herself!”
Johnny ‘the Hammer’ Harris: “And let’s not forget “Slow-Count” Sam out there taking his sweet time with every Duke cover. The fix felt in.”
Midway through, Sterling 'the Silicon Tycoon' Silverman and Ruth Heartless doubled down on verbal assaults, cutting deep and keeping Duke Knight off his rhythm. But Duke Knight dug deep and turned the tide with a sharp Dropkick, then followed it up with a Hangman DDT. The crowd roared as Duke Knight built momentum!
Things escalated when Duke Knight finally snapped and retaliated against Ruth Heartless herself, knocking her off her perch! Ruth Heartless was taken out of action for a whopping eight rounds.
Mike ‘the Voice’ Johnson: “That was a game changer! With Ruth Heartless neutralized, Sterling 'the Silicon Tycoon' Silverman started panicking — his Bluetooth connection to victory was severed!”
Even as Sterling 'the Silicon Tycoon' Silverman fought back with Double Underhook Suplexes, Duke Knight would not be denied. Trading big moves — a Flying Fivearm, Shooting Star Press, and another brutal Hangman DDT — Duke Knight brought the battle to Sterling 'the Silicon Tycoon' Silverman.
And then — BOOM! Final minute. Duke Knight launched off the ropes and nailed a perfect Shooting Star Press! The pin was tight!
1… 2… 3!
Johnny ‘the Hammer’ Harris: “And despite Slow-Count Sam dragging his feet, even he couldn’t stop the inevitable!”
🏆 Winner: Duke Knight via pinfall
After the bell, Ruth Heartless was absolutely livid, storming around ringside screaming, “HE STOLE THAT! DUKE KNIGHT STOLE THAT MATCH! THIS WAS A CORPORATE HIT JOB!” She claimed the referee blew the call — irony not lost on the audience as “Slow-Count” Sam looked more confused than guilty.
Mike ‘the Voice’ Johnson: “Well, it wasn’t pretty, but justice was served! Duke Knight overcame the odds — the interference, the slow counts, the distractions — and he earned that win.”
Johnny ‘the Hammer’ Harris:”I’m just shocked Ruth Heartless didn’t hit Sam with a lawsuit or a stiletto heel on the way out.”
Match #3: Jack Lumber vs Adam Jameson
The arena lights flicker and the crowd erupts as Adam Jameson steps onto the stage, a determined look on his face. He raises his fist in the air to an explosive pop from the fans, pumping them up with his energy. Adam strides confidently down the ramp, high-fiving fans on both sides as he makes his way to the ring, ready to give it his all.
The lights suddenly go dark, and an ominous chill fills the air. Count Vlad steps out onto the stage first, arms raised, with a sinister grin on his face. The crowd boos loudly, but Vlad is unfazed. He smirks, directing the fans' hatred towards him before motioning to the entrance. Jack Lumber steps out next, walking with a menacing pace, his eyes locked on the ring. Vlad continues to taunt the crowd, leaning on his cane, as Lumber cracks his neck, fully prepared for the battle.
Mike 'The Voice' Johnson: "And here comes the Dark Dominion, led by the sinister Count Vlad and the TRAITOR, Jack Lumber! They’re not here to play nice."
Johnny 'The Hammer' Harris: "When you’ve got Lumber’s power and Vlad’s devious mind on your side, you’ve already got the upper hand. This is not going to be pretty for Jameson."
The bell rings, and Jack Lumber immediately charges at Adam Jameson, landing a massive Stiff Uppercut. Jameson staggers but counters with a Flying Dropkick, sending Lumber to the corner. Lumber recovers and catches Jameson with a brutal Big Boot, sending him to the mat. Lumber covers, but Jameson kicks out at two. Lumber dominates, hitting German Suplexes and a Release Suplex, taunting the crowd.
Johnny 'The Hammer' Harris: "Lumber’s enjoying this punishment, but Jameson isn’t giving up."
Jameson fights back with a Leg Sweep, followed by a Diving Elbow Drop. The momentum shifts as Jameson lands a Flying Clothesline and Gut Buster. Lumber catches Jameson in mid-air for a Power Slam but only gets a two-count. Jameson counters with a DDT, then climbs for a 450 Splash. Lumber catches him and transitions into a Powerbomb.
Mike 'The Voice' Johnson: "Lumber's power is unmatched—what a move!"
Johnny 'The Hammer' Harris: "Jameson’s fighting for his life now, but Lumber’s got him on the ropes."
The match reaches its peak when Lumber sets up for the Shooting Star Press. Jameson dodges, hitting a Gut Buster and a Sunset Flip for a two-count. As Lumber tries to recover, Jameson lands a Russian Leg Sweep. Lumber, growing desperate, grabs a steel chair and swings it at Jameson, but the referee gets distracted by Count Vlad at ringside. Jameson avoids the chair shot, delivering a Gut Buster, and goes for the pin, but Lumber kicks out.
Lumber attempts another Powerbomb, but Jameson counters with a Sunset Flip. He quickly goes for a Dropkick to the back of Lumber’s head, sending him into the ropes. Lumber responds with a Spinebuster, but Jameson kicks out again. As the match goes on, Jameson attempts a 450 Splash, but Lumber counters with his knees. Lumber grabs the chair again, this time striking Jameson’s back with a vicious shot.
With the match hanging in the balance, both men are exhausted. Jameson attempts to retaliate, but before he can strike, Count Vlad pulls Honest Abe out of the ring and pushes him into the steel steps, leaving the match in complete chaos. Lumber grabs a steel chair, waiting for Jameson to get up.
Mike 'The Voice' Johnson: "This is going too far! Vlad’s done it again!"
Johnny 'The Hammer' Harris: "Lumber’s using that chair—this is a blatant attack!"
Lumber swings the chair, knocking Jameson out cold. Honest Abe calls for the bell and disqualifies Jack Lumber for the outside interference from Count Vlad.
Lumber stands tall in the ring, but Count Vlad isn’t finished. He directs Lumber to attack Jameson with the chair one more time. Lumber follows through, smashing the chair into Jameson’s back.
Billy Robbins rushes into the ring to help his partner, but Lumber immediately intercepts him, driving the chair into his midsection. Lumber stands over both men, raising the chair high as Vlad applauds.
Mike 'The Voice' Johnson: "This is chaos! What is going through the minds of these two?"
Johnny 'The Hammer' Harris: "Lumber and Vlad are making sure no one forgets this attack. Jameson and Robbins are paying the price tonight."
The scene fades with Lumber and Vlad standing tall, the damage done, while Jameson and Robbins lie motionless in the ring.
There isn’t much downtime as we head right into our next match. “I’ve got some bad news for ya” resonates from the speakers and out comes ‘Bad News’ Marvin Barnes. He is booed heavily as he makes his way to the ring. He flips off the fans and just as he’s getting ready to enter the ring, the lights go out and we know what that means…KURSE is in the HOUSE! The lights come back on and Marvin is looking at the stage however he doesn’t even notice that Kurse is standing in the center of the ring. He doesn’t pay attention and slides into the ring keeping his eyes on the stage but then snorts in derision thinking Kurse wasn’t coming out until he turns around and sees the monster already there waiting for him.
Match #4: Kurse vs Marvin Barnes
The crowd buzzes with anticipation as "I’ve Got Some Bad News" blasts through the arena, and the arrogant, sneering figure of ‘Bad News’ Marvin Barnes steps onto the stage. He flips off the fans, drawing a chorus of boos as he makes his way to the ring. Barnes taunts the crowd, pacing along the apron, his eyes locked on the entrance as if daring anyone to challenge him. But suddenly, the lights go out, and the ominous sound of eerie silence fills the arena. A chill goes through the crowd as the lights flicker back on, revealing the terrifying figure of KURSE the DEATH DEALER standing center-ring, awaiting his opponent. Marvin, momentarily caught off-guard, takes a moment to compose himself before he slides into the ring, snorting in derision at the idea of a “monster” standing across from him. As he turns around, his cocky demeanor fades quickly when he comes face-to-face with KURSE, who already has his eyes locked on him.
Johnny 'The Hammer' Harris: "Oh boy, Marvin’s definitely going to have his hands full tonight. This isn’t your typical match-up, Mike!"
Mike 'The Voice' Johnson: "And that’s exactly what Marvin Barnes wanted—he loves the spotlight, but this could be one situation where his cocky attitude might cost him dearly."
The match starts fast as KURSE quickly shows his dominance with a Death Certificate Power Bomb, throwing Barnes to the mat like a ragdoll. The early offense is all KURSE, with Barnes barely able to defend himself. But Marvin digs deep, hitting a few solid strikes, including a Drop Down Kick to the Head and a Dark Matter Reverse S.T.O., which momentarily stuns the Death Dealer. The fans get behind Marvin as he battles back with some impressive moves, including a Diamond Dust and a Superkick that connects perfectly. However, KURSE’s resilience is unmatched, and he absorbs the punishment before turning the tide.
Johnny 'The Hammer' Harris: "KURSE is a beast! He just won’t stay down, no matter what Marvin throws at him!"
Mike 'The Voice' Johnson: "Barnes might be making this more competitive than KURSE expected, but that could be his downfall. The Death Dealer thrives on pain, and Marvin's dishing it out just fuels the monster more."
In the final moments of the match, KURSE is relentless, landing his devastating Big Boot to the Face, knocking Barnes into a dazed heap. After some back-and-forth, KURSE sets up for a Choke in Corner, leaving Marvin gasping for air. But it’s KURSE’s Big Boot to the Face that seals the deal, as he hits it again with brutal precision. KURSE covers for the pin:
Mike 'The Voice' Johnson: "It’s over! Barnes tried to fight back, but KURSE is just too much tonight. KURSE the DEATH DEALER wins!"
Johnny 'The Hammer' Harris: "Bad News is right, Mike—he’s got some bad news for him... and that bad news is a one-way ticket to defeat!"
The referee counts the pin: 1…2…3 and the bell rings. KURSE stands victorious, his hand raised in the air as the crowd erupts in mixed reactions of awe and fear. Barnes, barely moving, is left in the center of the ring, his arrogance crushed under KURSE’s sheer power.
Mike 'The Voice' Johnson: "KURSE the DEATH DEALER leaves no question who the dominant force is here tonight! A huge win for the Death Dealer!"
Johnny 'The Hammer' Harris: "This guy is a force of nature, and tonight, Marvin Barnes found out just how devastating KURSE really is."
The lights go out once again and as soon as they come back on, Kurse is gone, disappearing as quickly as he appeared.
It is now time for our main event. The Ladies of HCW (except for the champions) all made their way out. Talia then stepped over the top rope eliminating herself and giving the contract win to Selena ‘Widows Fang’ Blackfang.
Selena 'Widow's Fang' Blackfang (f) wins the April Ladies Contract!!!
Selena opens the case and the contract is for…The World Ladies Championship. Luciana hopped into the ring and got right in Selena’s face only to be blindsided by Talia. The Vixens beat down Luciana and Selena took the title holding it high promising this would be hers when she cashes in.
