Hello wrestling fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter. On our card tonight, the Death Dealer, Kurse will be in action. We’ll also see the new Hardcore Champion Mr. X defend his hardcore title against the Alaskan Wildman Jax Brenner. We’ll also hear from Count Vlad and then in our main event, we’ll have a Men’s battle royal to determine who gets the next contract in the briefcase.
Before the action in the ring can begin, we head backstage for an interview with Larry Morton and the Hardcore Champion Mr. X.
[Backstage]
The HCW Hardcore Championship gleams under the harsh lighting as it rests on the shoulder of the newly crowned champion, Mr. X. His posture is cocky, his smirk full of malice. Dressed in his usual dark attire, he looms over Larry Morton, who stands stiffly, microphone in hand.
Larry hesitates for a moment before clearing his throat.
Larry Morton: “Ladies and gentlemen, I’m here with the new HCW Hardcore Champion, Mr. X. Last week, you defeated Outback Oscar in brutal fashion to win the title, and tonight, you defend it against the Alaskan Wildman, Jax Brenner. Your thoughts?”
Mr. X snickers, adjusting the belt on his shoulder before yanking the mic toward himself.
Mr. X: “My thoughts, Larry? My thoughts are that last week was a thing of beauty.”
He grins, licking his lips before pointing at the title.
Mr. X: “See this? This isn’t just a championship. This is a warning—a monument to the pain I dish out. And as for Outback Oscar?”
His grin widens as he chuckles darkly.
Mr. X: “You mean Outhouse Elmer? You mean the brain-dead bushwhacker who thought he could step into my world?”
He shakes his head mockingly.
Mr. X: “Oscar ain't steppin’ anywhere now, is he? That poor, dumb hillbilly got a one-way ticket to the scrap heap. And trust me, Larry, he ain’t comin’ back.”
He taps the championship with his finger, smirking.
Mr. X: “Now, tonight, they’re sending me another big, dumb animal—Jax Brenner, the ‘Alaskan Wildman.’”
His expression hardens as he leans in.
Mr. X: “Jax, you’re walking into my slaughterhouse. I don’t care how big you are, how tough you are—you’re just another victim. I put Outhouse Elmer on the shelf for good, and tonight? I put the Wildman down.”
His eyes gleam with something sadistic.
Mr. X: “This title belongs to me now, and anybody dumb enough to step up?”
He slams his fist into his open palm.
Mr. X: “Ends up in the same place as Oscar… broken, battered, and gone.”
He steps back, smirking at Larry before patting the title one last time.
Mr. X: “See you soon, Wildman. Hope you like hospital food.”
With that, he storms off, leaving Larry standing there, looking visibly uneasy as the scene fades to black.
Match #1: Kurse vs Jesse California
The arena plunges into total darkness.
Johnny ‘The Hammer’ Harris: "Uh-oh… we know what this means!"
Mike ‘The Voice’ Johnson: "Oh, I got chills, Mike! The lights are out, and when they come back on—well, you don’t want to be the poor soul in that ring!"
A few agonizing seconds pass, the crowd murmuring in anticipation. Then—BAM!—the lights flicker back on, revealing Kurse the Death Dealer standing motionless on the outside of the ring. His piercing gaze locks onto his opponent, his expression cold and unyielding.
Johnny ‘The Hammer’ Harris: "There he is! Like a specter from beyond, Kurse has arrived!"
He slowly steps onto the apron, then through the ropes, stalking forward as his opponent tenses up, fully aware that the nightmare is about to begin.
Mike ‘The Voice’ Johnson: "Buckle up, folks! This one was an absolute war!"
Johnny ‘The Hammer’ Harris: "We just witnessed a brutal fight, Mike. Jesse California came in looking to take down the Death Dealer, but Kurse proved why he’s one of the most dangerous men in HCW!"
From the opening bell, this match was a slugfest. Jesse California came in fast, using his quickness to rattle Kurse early with a superkick and a standing dropkick, keeping the monster off balance. But Kurse wasn’t going to let that stand—he fired back with a Death Knell and a Death Certificate Powerbomb, letting everyone know that Jesse was in for a long night.
As the minutes passed, both competitors went blow for blow, with Kurse relying on his power and methodical brutality, while Jesse countered with high-flying strikes and quick counters. Jesse nearly stole it after a jumping reverse bulldog, but Kurse kicked out and responded with another massive Death Sentence Neckbreaker, nearly putting Jesse away.
Mike ‘The Voice’ Johnson: "Jesse California is showing unbelievable resilience here, but how much more can he take?"
By the 10th minute, Jesse was barely hanging on as Kurse threw him outside and battered him before rolling him back in. Jesse managed one last flurry, nailing a jumping DDT and another superkick, but Kurse simply wouldn’t stay down.
Finally, in the 15th minute, Kurse caught Jesse with an Upside Down DDT, driving him headfirst into the mat. This time, there was no escape.
1…2…3!
Johnny ‘The Hammer’ Harris: "And that’s it! Kurse the Death Dealer finishes the job and takes the win!"
Mike ‘The Voice’ Johnson: "Jesse fought like hell, but Kurse was just too much. He kept coming and coming, and eventually, Jesse just couldn’t get back up!"
Kurse the Death Dealer stands over the fallen Jesse California, his expression unreadable as ‘Honest’ Abe raises his hand in victory. The crowd watches in eerie silence, their cheers mixed with unease. Then—
BOOM! The arena is plunged into total darkness once more!
Mike ‘The Voice’ Johnson: "Oh no, not again!"
Johnny ‘The Hammer’ Harris: "We saw how he got here… and now he’s leaving the same way!"
A few agonizing seconds pass in complete blackness. Then—the lights return!
The ring is empty. Kurse is gone. Jesse California stirs on the mat, dazed and confused, while the official looks around, bewildered. The eerie silence lingers before the crowd erupts in hushed murmurs.
Mike ‘The Voice’ Johnson: "Just like that… he’s disappeared into the void!"
Johnny ‘The Hammer’ Harris: "Kurse the Death Dealer doesn’t just win matches, Mike—he haunts them!"
[Backstage – The Dark Dominion’s Lair]
The dim, flickering light casts long shadows against the cold concrete walls. Count Vlad reclines in a worn leather chair, one leg crossed over the other, a crystal glass of deep red liquid swirling in his hand. He looks relaxed—almost indulgent—like a man savoring a private joke only he understands.
Talia Nocturne, on the other hand, is anything but relaxed. She paces in front of him, her fingers twitching at the edges of her sleeves, lips twisted into a pout that quickly shifts into something more sinister.
Talia Nocturne (whining, voice sharp): “She kissed him.”
Vlad lifts a brow, his smirk widening ever so slightly.
Count Vlad (amused): “Ahhh, yes. I saw.”
Talia stops pacing, spinning on her heel to face him. Her breath is uneven, her eyes flickering between rage and something... almost wounded.
Talia Nocturne (glaring, intense): “She kissed him.”
She suddenly grips her own arms, nails digging into her flesh as if trying to ground herself. Then, a twisted little giggle escapes her lips.
Talia Nocturne (mockingly, whispering): “Right in front of me…”
She tilts her head back, staring at the ceiling, before snapping her gaze back to Vlad, wide-eyed and desperate.
Talia Nocturne (pleading, insistent): “Make it better.”
Vlad exhales slowly, swirling the liquid in his glass before taking a deliberate sip. He savors the silence, watching her squirm with quiet delight before finally setting the glass down on a small table beside him.
Then, he stands.
Count Vlad (smoothly, knowingly): “My dear Talia... you wound me.”
He places a hand over his chest in mock offense before stepping closer, his voice dropping into a near whisper, rich with manipulation.
Count Vlad: “Do you not trust me?”
Talia doesn’t answer immediately. Her lips part, then close. She sways slightly, like a marionette waiting for its strings to be pulled.
Vlad lifts a finger and gently taps her on the chin, tilting her face toward his.
Count Vlad (soft, almost affectionate): “I will make it better.”
Talia’s lips curl into a slow, eerie smile, her breathing hitching in excitement.
Talia Nocturne (grinning, whispering): “Promise?”
Vlad chuckles, low and knowing, his hand falling away as he steps back.
Count Vlad (slyly): “But of course.”
Then, his smirk sharpens.
Count Vlad: “But first, my dear… you will be wrestling tonight.”
Talia blinks. Then, she laughs—a delighted, high-pitched sound as she claps her hands together.
Talia Nocturne (sing-song, giddy): “Ooooh, who do I get to break?”
Vlad chuckles again, retrieving his drink as he walks past her, leaving her standing in the shifting shadows.
Count Vlad (over his shoulder, grinning): “Now, now… where’s the fun if I spoil the surprise?”
Talia giggles again, wrapping her arms around herself, swaying with excitement.
The screen slowly fades to black as her eerie laughter lingers.
Back to the ring:
[The arena is buzzing with excitement as Jax Brenner's entrance music hits. The crowd erupts in cheers, but as Jax makes his way to the ring, he looks around, visibly distracted and concerned. Molly Mason is nowhere to be seen.]
Johnny "the Hammer" Harris: Folks, it looks like Jax Brenner is coming out alone tonight. Molly Mason is conspicuously absent.
Mike "the Voice" Johnson: That's unusual. Jax seems distracted. You can see him looking around, almost like he's expecting someone.
[The crowd's cheers shift into loud boos as the lights dim, and an ominous red glow washes over the entrance ramp. The eerie, mechanical hum of Mr. X's entrance theme pulses through the arena. The HCW Hardcore Champion emerges from the curtain, the championship slung over his shoulder, a twisted grin behind his mask. In his free hand, he drags a steel chain, letting it clatter against the ramp as he marches toward the ring.]
Johnny "The Hammer" Harris: "And here comes the HCW Hardcore Champion, Mr. X. Look at that smirk—he knows exactly what he did to Outback Oscar, and he’s damn proud of it!"
Mike "The Voice" Johnson: "He said earlier tonight that he put ‘Outhouse Elmer’ on the shelf for good—his words, not mine! And now he’s got Jax Brenner in his sights!"
[Mr. X stops at the base of the ring and slowly lifts the title belt into the air, soaking in the crowd’s hatred before rolling inside. He walks right up to Jax Brenner, standing inches from his face. Jax clenches his fists, but Mr. X simply laughs—a low, menacing chuckle—before stepping back and handing his championship to the referee.]
Johnny "The Hammer" Harris: "Mike, Jax looks fired up, but let’s not forget—he came out here alone.
And against a man as dangerous as Mr. X, that could be a big mistake!"
Mike "The Voice" Johnson: "We still don’t know where Molly Mason is, and I can’t shake the feeling that something isn’t right. But one thing’s for sure—this is gonna be a fight!"
[The referee, ‘Honest’ Abe, holds up the HCW Hardcore Championship and calls for the bell. The match is on!]
Mike "The Voice" Johnson: "The Alaskan Wildman is in the house, and he is ready to fight! But let’s not forget, folks—he’s without Molly Mason tonight, and something about that just doesn’t sit right with me."
Johnny "The Hammer" Harris: "Yeah, and he better keep his head in the game, because Mr. X is one of the most sadistic competitors in HCW. That man thrives on pain—both giving and receiving!"
[Jax in the ring, his eyes scanning the arena. He tries to focus on the match, but it's clear his mind is elsewhere. As the match progresses, Jax is constantly glancing towards the entrance ramp and the crowd, his attention divided.]
Johnny "the Hammer" Harris Jax Brenner doesn't seem fully concentrated on his opponent tonight. He's still looking for Molly.
Mike "the Voice" Johnson: This could cost him. You can't afford to be distracted in a match like this.
[Jax comes out swinging early, landing The Pickaxe on Mr. X, but the champ absorbs the impact and keeps going. The two warriors trade hard-hitting offense, with Jax landing a brutal Bigfoot Bomb, shaking the ring with impact. Mr. X, however, fires back with chops to the chest and a devastating Buckle Bomb, rattling Jax’s spine against the turnbuckles.]
Mike "The Voice" Johnson: "Jax is showing his toughness, but Mr. X is picking his spots! Every move has bad intentions!"
[The momentum swings back and forth, with Jax landing another Pickaxe, only for Mr. X to counter later with a sharp Martial Arts strike followed by a stiff Bare Foot Kick. The champion tries for a pin, but Jax kicks out at two, showing his resilience.]
[Suddenly, the arena lights flicker. A cold chill seems to settle over the building.]
Johnny "The Hammer" Harris: "Wait a minute... what the hell is happening!?"
[A shadow looms at the entrance ramp. Emerging from the darkness is The Yeti—the monstrous figure who has been tormenting Jax in recent weeks. He doesn’t step into the ring, just stands there, an eerie presence that freezes Jax in place. Then, in one swift motion, he hurls an object into the ring—it lands with a heavy THUD! right between Jax and Mr. X.]
Mike "The Voice" Johnson: "What did he just throw in the ring?!?!"
[Jax stares at the object, blue with red specks, confusion and frustration washing over him. That split-second of hesitation is all Mr. X needs. He grabs Jax from behind—HIP ROLL! The move sends Jax crashing to the mat, and Mr. X hooks the leg!]
Fast Count Frank: "One!... Two!... THREE!"
Johnny "The Hammer" Harris: "Mr. X retains the Hardcore Championship! But the story here is The Yeti—he didn’t even touch Jax, but he cost him the match!"
Mike "The Voice" Johnson: "And look at Jax—he’s furious! He’s staring down The Yeti, but the big man is just... laughing! Whatever mind games The Yeti is playing, they are working!"
[As Jax scrambles back to his feet, The Yeti steps back into the shadows, disappearing as quickly as he arrived. Meanwhile, Mr. X clutches his Hardcore Championship, grinning beneath his mask as he slinks away, leaving Jax seething in the ring.]
Johnny "The Hammer" Harris: "Something tells me this is far from over, Mike. And if I were Jax Brenner, I'd be watching my back... because the nightmare is only beginning!"
Mr. X gloats as he makes his way up the ramp but as soon as he gets on stage, he is confronted by a member of the Dark Dominion.
the Morningstar tells Mr. X he is coming back after the Hardcore title. Mr. X appears concerned. Hell’s Fang turns and leaves.
Match #3: Talia Nocturne w/Count Vlad vs Starla Nova
Mike "The Voice" Johnson: "Here comes Starla Nova, ready to light up the HCW universe! The fans are on their feet for this one!"
Johnny "The Hammer" Harris: "She might be walking into a nightmare, Mike. Talia Nocturne is making her way down the ramp, and where there’s Talia, there’s Count Vlad. You know he’s got something up his sleeve."
Talia Nocturne arrives with her usual unsettling aura, flanked by Count Vlad, who claps theatrically, his smirk dripping with arrogance.
Count Vlad: "Ah, Starla Nova… such a bright little light. But, my dear, you are about to be snuffed out by the creeping embrace of the night!"
The match begins, and Talia immediately takes control, catching Starla with a brutal Pendulum Backbreaker, stretching her over the knee with eerie precision. As Starla tries to regroup, Talia plants her into the mat with an Inverted DDT, leaving her reeling.
Just when Starla starts to show signs of life, Count Vlad makes his presence felt! While referee "Honest" Abe is distracted, he lands a wicked Transylvania Spike, sending Starla sprawling. Talia capitalizes, hooking the leg, but Starla refuses to stay down, kicking out at two.
Mike "The Voice" Johnson: "Are you kidding me? Vlad just struck again!"
Johnny "The Hammer" Harris: "Are you really surprised? The man loves to get his hands dirty!"
Despite the onslaught, Starla digs deep and fights back, stunning Talia with a Cutlass Spinning Backfist and following up with a high-impact Alabama Slam. The crowd erupts as she starts mounting a comeback, even landing a Running Blockbuster that nearly takes Talia’s head off.
But Talia is nothing if not relentless. She absorbs the punishment and fires back, catching Starla in the perfect position for the Red Wedding Fireman’s Carry Facebuster. Starla struggles to stay on her feet, but Talia ends it with a swift and deadly Slingblade, taking her down for the three-count.
Mike "The Voice" Johnson: "And just like that, Talia Nocturne steals another one! Starla gave it her all, but it wasn’t enough!"
Johnny "The Hammer" Harris: "With Count Vlad lurking around, was it ever really going to be enough?"
As Talia stands victorious, Vlad steps into the ring, looming over the fallen Starla with a devilish grin. He kneels beside her, whispering something ominous before standing and laughing.
Then, Talia reaches into her gear and pulls out a worn, crinkled picture of Black Mass. Her fingers slowly trace his face as she tilts her head, staring at it with an unsettling, lovesick expression. She strokes the image, whispering something inaudible, almost in a trance.
Mike "The Voice" Johnson: "What the hell is she doing? Is that… is that a picture of Black Mass?"
Johnny "The Hammer" Harris: "I don't know if I should be disturbed or terrified, but this is straight-up creepy!"
The crowd murmurs in discomfort as Talia clutches the picture to her chest, a twisted smile creeping across her lips. Count Vlad watches with amusement before motioning for her to leave. She follows, picture still in hand, leaving behind an eerie silence in the arena.
[Backstage in the dressing room, Jax sees Molly scrambling in, disheveled and out of breath. Her hair is messy, and she looks frazzled.]
Jax: Molly, where were you? I needed you out there!
Molly (trying to catch her breath): Jax, I'm so sorry! I had car trouble. I tried to get here as fast as I could.
[Jax's eyes narrow, suspicion flickering in them. The commentators' voices in the background add to the tension.]
Johnny "the Hammer" Harris (voiceover): Molly says she had car trouble, but does Jax believe her?
Mike "the Voice" Johnson (voiceover): With everything that's been happening, can you blame him for having doubts?
[Jax steps closer, his expression a mix of hurt and skepticism.]
Jax: Car trouble? This seems to be happening a lot lately. Are you sure there's nothing else going on, Molly?
Molly (pleading): Jax, you have to believe me. I would never let you down on purpose.
[Jax hesitates, his face conflicted. The vignette ends with a close-up of Jax, torn between trust and doubt.]

Lou Albano III wins the April Battle Royal!!!
The crowd is on their feet, the ring littered with the aftermath of a chaotic battle royal, but there’s only one man standing tall: Lou Albano.
Mike "The Voice" Johnson: “He’s done it! Lou Albano has outlasted them all! What a moment for this young man!”
Johnny "The Hammer" Harris: “He survived a pack of wolves in there, Mike—nobody saw this coming!”
Lou leans over the ropes, exhausted but grinning ear to ear. An HCW official climbs into the ring and presents him with a sleek steel briefcase. Lou opens it, and the crowd explodes.
Mike "The Voice" Johnson: “That’s it! It’s official! That briefcase holds a signed contract for a shot at the HCW World Championship!”
Johnny "The Hammer" Harris: “You’re lookin’ at a main eventer now, baby! Lou Albano just punched his ticket to the biggest match of his life!”
Lou holds the contract high in the air, his eyes wide with disbelief as he mouths, “I did it!” Fans chant his name—“LOU! LOU! LOU!”—as he climbs the turnbuckle and salutes the crowd. It’s pure elation. But just as he drops down to the mat—
CRACK!
Tony and Sal Albano slide into the ring like a pair of rats, and Sal smashes the briefcase across Lou’s skull from behind!
Mike "The Voice" Johnson: “NO! DAMN IT, NO! What the hell are they doing?!”
Johnny "The Hammer" Harris: “They want blood!”
Lou collapses in a heap as Tony grabs the crumpled contract and rips it in half while Sal puts the boots to his fallen cousin. The crowd rains down boos as the celebration turns to chaos.
Tony Albano: “You don’t carry this name without us, Lou! You think you’re championship material? We’re the future!”
Sal Albano: “We’re sending you back to the gutter, cousin!”
Security rushes to the ring as the New Sicilians backpedal, arms raised mockingly, basking in the fury of the fans. Lou lays bloodied, motionless, the pieces of the contract scattered around him.
Mike "The Voice" Johnson: “Lou had his moment… and they ripped it away! They shattered the dream with a briefcase and a bloodstain!”
Johnny "The Hammer" Harris: “That was his shot, Mike—his future—and they just stomped it into the canvas! What the hell are we witnessing here?!”
As medics slide into the ring and begin tending to Lou, the camera lingers on the bloodied star clutching the torn contract close to his chest.
Mike "The Voice" Johnson: “This isn’t over. Not by a long shot. Lou Albano may be down, but if I know anything about this guy… he’s not staying down.”
Johnny "The Hammer" Harris: “Stay tuned, folks… because business just got Sicilian bloody.”
Mike "The Voice" Johnson: “We’ll see you next time on HCW… STAY TUNED.”
The screen fades to black with the HCW logo as the sound of furious fans and shouting officials echo in the background.
