Hello fans and welcome to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter. Not much in the way of pre-match information other than the Six Man titles will be on the line with the Steel Curtain and Biceps Bannerman taking on the Muscles Trio and in the Main event, Ladies Champion Korbi Kong will be defending her title against the winner of the matchup between Catalina Harper and Sarona Reiher. That qualifying match is up first.
Pyro
goes off and our show is ready to get underway.
The number 1 and number 2 seeds (Catalina and Sarona respectively) have
a showdown to see who meets the Ladies Champion in tonight’s main event. First, Sarona comes out to booing from the
crowd. She goes over to one particular
fan and grabs him by the collar and threatens to punch him. Security is right there to save that
fan. Sarona makes her way into the ring
and makes a breaking motion showing what she’s going to do to Catalina
next. The music changed and out comes
Catalina Harper to a nice pop from the crowd.
She interacts with the fans and makes her way to the ring. Sarona blocks her attempt to enter and it
takes the ref taking her to the opposite side of the ring to allow Catalina
entrance. She finally makes it in,
removes her jacket and the bell rings starting this one off. To say
that the match was all that even would not have even been remotely
correct. Catalina dominated as she did
when she held the title and champion or not, she proved she wanted this
more. Sarona took her to 14 minutes but
ended falling victim to the Cat’s Meow.
Catalina made the cover and got the 3 count. With the win, she gets the title shot in
tonight’s main event. (14 min)
Backstage,
Jesse California is mocking Jack Lumber for being eliminated (in a non-televised
tournament) by him. Jack says that
everyone has an off day and if Jesse wants his to be tonight, he’d be happy to
oblige. Jesse accepts.
We
head back to the ring for our next match.
First, the Bounty Hunter Jake Montrose comes out to booing from the
crowd. He makes his way into the ring
and does his best to ignore them. Next,
Derek Deveraux makes his way out. Jake
jumps out of the ring to attack him and get the match started early but Derek
had been doing his homework and expected it so he was prepared. The match was even until a backbreaker in the
3rd minute of the match gave the Bounty Hunter a lead however it
didn’t last. Just 60 seconds later,
Derek catches Jake with release powerbomb.
He rolls him up securely hooking the leg and gets the 3 count. Derek gets the win and continues to rack up
the wins. He celebrates with the fans
briefly before heading to the back.
Backstage,
the Six Man Tag Team Champions the Steel Curtain are congratulating their
teammate Biceps Bannerman on securing the #1 contender spot for the World
Title. Bannerman says he’s excited about
the match but he is not taking his eye off their prize. Tonight, they take on the tricky Muscles Trio
and don’t plan on losing. Buzz and
Starbuck both lean in and say “Word”.
We
go back to the ring for our next match.
First, the loudspeaker blares out “Choppin’ wood and Lookin’ good” and
out comes everyone’s favorite flannel wearing lumberjack Jack Lumber. Lumber stops at the Lumber Lounge to talk
briefly with his fans before continuing on to the ring. Jesse California comes out interrupting
Jack’s interaction with the fans. Jesse
even stops by the Lumber Lounge and SPITS on the person closest to him. He laughs as the fan tried to grab him. He shakes his head and wags his finger and
continues on to the ring. Jack is irate
at Jesse for disrespecting the fans…especially one who is a card carrying
member of the Lumber Lounge. Jack forces
the match to begin before Jesse was ready and it didn’t go exactly his
way. For 15 minutes, Jesse controlled
the pace of the match. Jesse tossed Jack
to the outside to give himself a breather.
The fan who got spit on by Jesse ran up to the railing and provided his
hero some words of wisdom. Jack found
his second win and began taking the match to Jesse. Jack planted Jesse with a Yukon bodyslam and
followed it up with “TIMMMBERRRRR”.
Jesse, stunned, is dropped to the mat after an atomic drop. Jack went for the pin but Jesse kicked
out. Jack quickly got to his feet and as
Jesse made it to his, Jack hits another Yukon bodyslam. He makes the cover, securely hooking the leg
and gets the 1-2-3. Jack gets the win
and the ref raises his arm in victory.
Jack is immediately ambushed by the “fan” who gave him words of
wisdom. He removed his mask (protection
from covid) and it’s none other than Drew the Canadian Love Machine. Drew beats an exhausted Jack down and hits a
corkscrew pescado following it up with a Lover Bomb. The fans boo the crap out of Drew who doesn’t
seem to care. He stands over Jack
laughing. He eventually leaves. The ref helped Jack to his feet and he was
able to make it to the back on his own.

Backstage,
Catalina Harper is interviewed. She says
she fought tooth and nail to get to this point and now she gets a rematch for
the title she lost a month ago. She says
Korbi is one of the toughest competitors in HCW she’s ever met and looks
forward to a chance to regain the title.
We
go back to the ring for our first title match of the evening. First, the Muscles Trio come out wearing
their rainbow colored bull horns and carrying their boxes of ‘Booty O’s”
cereal. They get a mixed reaction from
the fans as we all know who the favorites are.
After the Muscles got into the ring, the music changed and out comes the
Six Man Tag Team Champions Buzz and Starbuck Steel and Biceps Bannerman. They get the loudest pop of the night so
far. They high five with the fans and
make their way down to the ring. They
enter the ring and the match begins. Not
sure what was going on in the minds of the champs but they were not at the top
of their game. The Trio practically
owned the last half of the match. The
champs, you could tell, were starting to show some signs of desperation. In the 23rd minute of the match, Buzz
hurled Muscles Thorpe out of the ring.
Starbuck jumped in and then launched himself over the top rope taking
Thorpe to the floor. Thorpe was not able
to make it back to his feet and into the ring before the 10 count so he ended
up getting counted out. The Steel
Curtain and Biceps Bannerman get the win via count out and retain the titles. The champs interact with the crowd before heading
to the back.
Backstage,
Ladies Champion Korbi Kong says that Catalina was a tremendous champion but her
time has passed. Tonight, her reign as
champion continues.
It’s
time for our main event. First, Catalina
Harper comes out to a nice pop from the crowd.
She begins to make her way to the ring when she is attacked from behind
by Violet Valkyrie. Violet drags her to
the ring and hurls her into the steel steps.
She then whips Catalina into the steel post head first busting her
open. Security comes out and takes
Violet to the back. Violet laughs as she
is escorted to the back. The ref checks
on her and asks if she wants to continue or postpone. Catalina says she worked hard to get back to
this point so give her a band aid and let’s get this match going. “KORBI KONG SMASH” blares through the
loudspeakers and out comes the Ladies Champion.
Korbi gets one of the loudest pops of the night. She stands on the stage and holds her title
high. She begins to walk to the ring
intermittently high fiving with the fans.
She gets into the ring and climbs the turnbuckle. The fans pop gets louder as she holds her
title high. She steps down and checks on
Catalina. Catalina says she wants to
continue. Korbi hands the title to the
ref and this match gets underway.

She goes over and helps Catalina to her feet. Catalina nods and leaves the ring. Korbi stays and celebrates with the fans as
the show comes to an end.
