Hello
fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling
Newsletter. In a continuing effort to
get caught up on shows, we will continuing doing the quick match recap except
for high profile feuds and title matches.
Match
#1: Maximillian Redbeard vs Baron von
Blood. The match was pretty even until
the ref got accidentally bumped 5 minutes in.
Baron then went to the corner and removed the turnbuckle cover. The then blasted Redbeard’s head into the
exposed bracket busting him up. He then
locked on the Brain Klaw as the ref was recovering. He came over and saw Redbeard wasn’t
responding and called for the bell awarding the match to Baron von Blood via
submission. Baron laughed as he left the
ring. It wasn’t until a moment later
that the ref saw the turnbuckle cover removed.
Match
#2: Col. Flagg vs Jack Lumber. The flannel wearing lumberjack came out
first to a huge pop from the crowd. He
gets into the ring and gets the fans to chant “Choppin’ Wood and Lookin’
Good”. Flagg came out next as
“AAAAATENSHUNNNNNN” blared from the loudspeakers. Flagg is booed heavily as he makes his way to
the ring. Flagg entered the ring with
confidence but it failed him. Jack beat
the snot out of him just dominating the entire match. Finally and mercifully, he ended the match at
the 12 minute mark and dropping Flagg with ‘the Axe’.
Match
#3: The Steel Curtain vs the
Hubers. Ferb and Junior Huber make their
way out first as the fans boo. The Steel
Curtain come out next with their portion of the Six Man titles. 4 minutes into the match, both Ferb and
Junior were ‘injured’ but a distraction from the World Tag Team Champs Apollo
Gyze and Dash Woodbrick kept them from capitalizing. A few minutes later, the Hubers were back up
and running. Dash provided a distraction
which caused Buzz to miss a Buzzkill attempt and got caught up in a Lifting Arm
Triangle Choke by Junior. Ferb took
Starbuck down and with no one to make the save, Buzz tapped out. The Hubers steal a win tonight with
interference from the Tag Team Champs.
I’m sure the Steel Curtain will have something to say about this later.
Match
#4: Goldie Locks vs Betsy Cummings. The match proved a little tougher than
expected with one half of the resident twins gave Goldie a run for her money
but in the end, Goldie was able to wrest control of the match and secure a pin
after hitting the Lock Breaker. The fans
pop as Goldie has her arm raised in victory.
Match
#5: For the Anytime/Anywhere
Championship. Walking backstage, AA
champion Scooter J is with his tag team partner TNT when they are ambushed by
Ghee Buttersnaps who happens to have a ref in tow. Scooter J ends up taking the match to the
ring and they continue their fight there.
Even after putting up a good fight, he was no match for the champ. Scooter J choked Ghee on the ropes and broke
the hold when the ref demanded and immediately went for the pin and got the 3
count. Scooter J retains his title.
Match
6: the Main Event: World Tag team
Champions Apollo and Dash vs Master Bull and TBA. In a turn of events, the Tag Team Champions
Dash Woodbrick and Apollo Gyze came out first.
They make their way to the ring.
Master Bull then comes out and they mock him saying he couldn’t find
someone who wanted to be in his corner.
Apollo said Bull with have to forfeit or it will be a handicap match if
he wants to continue without a partner.
Bull corrects them saying he found someone and then introduces… Phat
Sol. Phat comes out and he and Master
Bull shake hands and make their way to the ring. Once there, after the ref does his customary
explanation of the rules, the match begins.
Throughout the first 19 minutes of the match, the champs went for the
pin multiple times but couldn’t get the 3 count. We join the match now at the 20 min mark.

and Dash get the win and retain their titles.
The fans boo them heavily and Apollo flips them off in response. That just riles them up all the more.
