welcome back to the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.
Today, we present to you day 2 of the Zero Hour PPV. Recapping yesterday’s card:
* Biceps Bannerman
defeated Shawn ‘Abs of Stone’ Austin to become the new Anytime/Anywhere
Champion.
* TNT defeated King
Lucas Johnston. His royalness is no
longer red hot but has returned to luke-warm.* The World Champion the Wicked Prophet ousted Killa Pops to win the battle royal. I don’t think Pops will let that sit.
* In a grudge match, Hayley Hailstone defeated Violet Valkyrie after Matt Preacher interfered
* The World Tag Team Champions the Steel Curtain retained the titles in a match vs the Flannelnanas.
* Six Man Tag Team
Champions Wilber Townsend, Leon Teremoto and Anthony Boom take on Maximillian
Redbeard, Superquake Ferguson and Anthony Boom.
* The 5th
Column takes on Davis Hoffmeister and two teammates yet to be disclosed* Hardcore Champion Outback Oscar defends the title against an un-named opponent
* Ladies Champion ‘Sassy’ Maxine DeVito defends her title against Catalina Harper
Pyro goes off and co-GM Master Bull makes his way out to a nice pop from the local crowd. He says that the show yesterday was off the charts but tonight, he has primary control and expects tonight’s show to be off the hook. Bull says that they are kicking off the show with some 6 man tag team action and he’s leaving so the match can begin.
Pyro goes off to
get the show started and the fans pop as Maximillian Redbeard, Superquake
Ferguson and Killa Pops come out. Pops
gets the loudest pop of the three. Pops
plays to the crowd. The trio head to the
ring. Once in the ring, each person
climbs their own turnbuckle and raise their arms high in the air. The lights then go dark and 3 lanterns appear
on the stage. A spotlight illuminates
the stage and we see Wilber and his cronies standing there wearing their creepy
demented Pennywise masks. Anthony Boom
tries to head down first but Wilber stops him and directs him to the back of
the line. Boom falls in line and the Six
Man Tag Team Champions head down to the ring.
They get into the ring and the lights begin to brighten. The Champs then each climb turnbuckles but
the fans boo the crap out of them. They
step down and Wilber takes all the belts.
He holds them all high before handing them to the ref. Killa Pops starts off the action against
Wilber. The match begins fast and
furious with the champs dominating the challengers for a whopping 10 minutes
but try as they might, they could not secure a pin. Wilber began yelling at
Leon and Anthony for ‘not doing better’.
Anthony Boom tags in and hits Superquake with the Boom Tube but before
he could go for the pin, Wilber blind tags himself in. Anthony was not happy about it. Wilber picks up Superquake and hits the Go To
Sleep. He goes for the pin but Killa
Pops makes the save. Leon is then tagged
in. We join the match at the 13 minute
mark.

The team of
Redbeard, Ferguson and Killa Pops just became the NEW SIX MAN TAG TEAM
CHAMPIONS! The fans pop huge for
them. They celebrate briefly in the ring
before departing. Wilber got into the
ring and began lambasting Leon for losing.
Anthony stepped in but Wilber turned his ire to him. Anthony and Leon look at each other and then
turned to Wilber and slugged him. Leon
grabs a mic and he and Anthony say “We quit.
You’re on your own.” Wilber was
stunned and tried to attack his former teammates but they collectively hurled
him over the top rope. The fans popped
as Leon and Anthony turned from the ‘dark side’ and are back in the fans good
graces. They leave to a pop from the
crowd and Wilber follows slowly afterwards.
US Champion Apollo
Gyze is backstage and bitches about not having an opponent. Master Bull walks over and says that Apollo
should head to the ring. Apollo
questions why. Master Bull then exclaims
“MASTER BULL DON’T APOLOGIZE” and then chuckles and walks off. Apollo sneers and watches Bull leave.
We head back to
the ring. First, the Hardcore Champion
Outback Oscar makes his way out to a pop from the crowd. He enters the ring and after a brief
interaction, he states that the rules for tonight’s match will be “Brawl Games”
rules. He waits for his opponent. New music hits and the lights begin to
strobe. Smoke fills the stage and then
‘Madman’ Mason walks through. He walks
down to the ring as the fans aren’t sure yet how to react. Oscar gets on the mic and asks what Mason is
doing here. Once in the ring, Mason
immediately attacks Oscar throwing him hard into the steel post. He then tells the ref he is Oscar’s opponent
tonight and demands the bell be rung.
Oscar immediately began fighting back and took the match to Mason. Mason tried to overpower Oscar but a well-placed
baseball bat to the ribs sucked all the air out of Mason’s offense. 11 minutes in, Mason grabs a steel chair and
brings it into the ring. He then
attempts to hit the Psychotic Break but Oscar reverses it and hits a swinging
neckbreaker on the chair. He makes the
cover hooking the leg and gets the 1-2-3.
Oscar just barely got the 3 count as Mason kicked out nanoseconds
later. The ref raises Oscar’s arm in
victory but Mason attacked the champ. He
grabbed the chair and blasted Oscar in the head with it busting him open. He then picked up Oscar and hit him with the
Psychotic Break. The fans were booing
heavily. Mason then hurled Oscar into
the corner and he went over the top turnbuckle and hit his head on the steel
post. Oscar is unconscious. Mason picks up Oscar and wipes his hand over
the bloody face of Oscar. Mason then
wipes the blood across his chest and then maniacally laughs. He drops Oscar and then leaves. Oscar was attended to by medics and he was
taken out on a stretcher.
Backstage, Davis
Hoffmeister is with Larry Morton.
“Larry, I’m happy I can be on the PPV tonight against the 5th
Column. I said that I would get 2 people
to join me. One will remain a secret but
I’m happy to announce that El Chango (enters from the right) will be teaming up
with me tonight.” El Chango starts “Well
you know Larry, the Changster is pumped and ready for action. Teaming with the Hoffster, we will defeat the
5th Column and drive them out of HCW.” Davis says “5th Column, whatcha
gonna do when the Hoff and Changster and one extra run wild on you?” The two head off camera.
We’re ready for
our next grudge match. First, the music
hits and out comes the 5th Column – Baron von Blood, Oswald
Zimmerman and Karl Braun. They are booed
heavily as they head down to the ring.
They flip off the fans which incites them all the more. They get in the ring and continue to mock the
fans until the music changes. The lights
go dim and then a spotlight shines on the stage. Hang on…who is that? HOLY COW…it’s the OTHER Hoff…David
Hasselhoff! Knight Rider himself is
here. He beings to sing which gets a
mixed reaction from the crowd (although the fans watching live from Germany
LOVE it). Hasselhoff then announces
“Fans of all ages, this Hoff is proud to announce wrestling’s Hoff – Davis
Hoffmeister! Davis comes out to a huge
pop from the crowd. He shakes hands with
Hasselhoff who then leaves. Davis gets
on the mic and introduces El Chango who also comes out to a pop from the
crowd. Davis then says that their third
partner is ready to join them and out comes….Leon Teremoto! The fans pop for Leon as he joins with El
Chango and the Hoff and the trio head down to the ring. They enter the ring aggressively and the
Column bails. Eventually they re-enter
the ring and the match is ready to get underway. For the first 5 minutes of the match, the
Column controlled the pace but then the combined might of Davis, El Chango and
Leon all overwhelmed the Column and they fell into defensive mode for the rest
of the match. Davis was kept in the
match by the Column hoping to sequester him to their corner but even alone, he
managed to hold his own. There were a
few times that Leon and El Chango got frustrated with the Column cheating that
they got involved and taught the Column a lesson. He made the hot tag to El Chango who climbed
to the top turnbuckle and hit a shooting star press onto Karl Braun. He got a 2 count after Baron von Blood came
in to break the count. El Chango tagged
Leon in who threw Karl to the corner and hit him with a running splash. He also gets a 2 count but this time, Oswald
broke up the count. Both Baron and
Oswald came into the ring only to fall victim to the combined might of their
opponents. Davis then came in and
cleaned house. After a few minutes
passed, Davis hit a flying dropkick on Karl. He went for the pin but only got a
2 count. He tagged El Chango in with
Leon. El Chango catches Karl again with the
Shooting Star Press. Leon then picks
Karl up and plants him in the middle of the ring with a huge powerbomb. After a couple more minutes passed, Baron and
Oswald tried to get involved. Davis and
Leon hit both of them with clotheslines taking all four of them out of the
ring. El Chango then hit Karl with a
diving spear. He made the cover and with
no one to make the save, he got the 1-2-3.
The fans explode as Davis, El Chango and Leon are announced as the
winners of the match. The three winners
stood tall in the ring and had their hands raised in victory. The three men shook hands and then left the
ring. The Column slowly gathered each
other up and stumbled all the way to the back.

We go backstage
with Clarkus Kentus and he is with Catalina Harper. Catalina says that Maxine will be a footnote
after her loss. With all the strong
women in HCW, the only thing people will remember about Maxine is that she was
a flash in the pan. Catalina says that
her universe of cat power will propel her to victory tonight.
We head back to
the ring for our next match. First, we
hear “APOLLO GYZE DON’T APOLOGIZE” and out comes the US Champion. Apollo stands on the stage and has a mic in
hand. He says that he will NOT be going
to the ring first because typically when a champion hits the ring first, they
lose. He says he will stand right here
until his opponent comes out. The music
changes to one we’ve not heard before and out comes…a returning Jack
Lawson. He is no longer angry. Apparently while out, he got counseling and
he’s an ok individual now. Jack shakes
hands with the fans and gets into the ring trying to get them pumped out. The fans back Jack as they want to see
Apollo’s ass handed to him. Apollo walks
back and forth on the stage debating if he wants to go through with it but ends
up walking to the ring after the fans started a “Coward” chant. He gets in the ring and throws his jacket
into Jack’s eyes and then attacks him.
Jack hits Apollo with a chokeslam.
Apollo rolls out of the ring. He
gets back in a few seconds later. We
join the match at the 6 minute mark.

Apollo Gyze gets
the (cheated) win and takes his title from the ref. He gets on the mic and says that no one on
the roster can beat him. He just proved
he is the best in the business. All of a
sudden, someone rushes in from the crowd.
HOLY CRAP…It’s ‘the Ragin Cajun’ Rad Gumbo. Gumbo has a chair and gets Apollo with one
shot before the champ bailed out of the ring.
Gumbo is still limping from the injury he sustained earlier this year
but looks healthy otherwise. The two
jawjack from the back but Apollo backs off first and heads to the back. Rad asks for the fans to send him some beers
and he celebrates with them (ala Stone Cold Steve Austin). He departs a few minutes later. Gumbo is BACK, folks.
We head backstage
and Larry Morton is with the Ladies Champion Sassy Maxine DeVito. Maxine tells Larry that Catalina was only
ever out for herself and she has no friends.
Maxine laughs at the thought that any fan would ever cheer for her. Maxine says that even if she’s a flash in the
pan, she is STILL the Ladies Champion whereas Catalina is just some crazy cat
person (like the one from Secret Life of Pets).
She laughs again and walks off.
Out in the garage,
Hardcore Champion Outback Oscar is being loaded into an ambulance. The doors are closed and the ambulance begins
to pull away but a large truck comes barreling out of nowhere and slams right
into the ambulance tipping it over on to its side. Mason gets out of the vehicle and begins to
laugh. Police and lots of backstage hands rushed out
to stop further attacks.
It’s time now for
our main event. First, Catalina Harper
comes out to a mixed reaction from the crowd.
She doesn’t want them to cheer her so she yells back at them. She gets into the ring and continues to yell
back at the crowd. The music then
changes and out comes the Ladies Champion ‘Sassy’ Maxine DeVito. The fans boo her as she makes her way to the
ring. She gets in and flaunts her title
to the fans who boo her. She eventually
hands the title to the ref (and it looks like something else) and this one can
finally begin.

Maxine gets the
win and it appears the fix was in.
Catalina says she did not tap out but the ref leaves. Maxine laughs as she says she put one over on
Catalina. Catalina heads to the back
disappointed but she knows she will be getting another shot sooner rather than
later. In the ring, Maxine gloats about
how no one on the roster can beat her.
Just then, the music changes and the fans pop HUGE as Taylor Bella
returns! Taylor gets on the mic and
tells Maxine that “This Bella” has returned home to HCW and is ready to teach
Maxine a lesson.
The show comes to
an end with the two ladies jawjacking.
