HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #565

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  We have finally entered the final week leading up to our PPV Zero Hour emanating from Denver, Colorado.  Preceding that will be our fanfest and hall of fame addition.

Kicking off the event, the Six Man Trophy holders the Snake Pit accept the challenge from Prestige Inc. for a match at the PPV and the trophy will be on the line.  Prestige Inc. was dominant in their first match.  Can they pull it off again?

Our first match of the night starts with Hangman #3 coming out to booing from the crowd.  His opponent Outback Oscar comes out next to a huge pop from the crowd.  Oscar was taken off his game after being on the receiving end of a (illegally) loaded (in his mask) headbutt.  Hangman #3 then took the rest of the right to Oscar and after connecting with an elbow bash, #3 then rolled Oscar up and got the 1-2-3.  Hangman #3 gets win and parades while the fans boo him. (13 min)

There is a commotion backstage and it seems that the World Tag Team Champions Pete the PUN-isher and Magnum Kone (well, mostly Pete) have come to blows with their opponents Buzz and Starbuck Steel – the Steel Curtain.  GM Max McGillicutty and others had to run in and break it up.  It was determined that Pete was the one who instigated it and was told to leave the building.  Max almost made the decision to NOT let Pete show up at the fanfest as a PUN-ishment to his behavior but changed his mind thinking that it would be  PUN-ishment enough if fans didn’t want his autograph and he’d sit there all by his lonesome.

The Steel Curtain went down to the ring and said that this attack has gotten them all riled up and they wanted a fight tonight.  The Ryzing Storm (Travis and Terra) came out to accept the challenge.  Terra stated that if they beat the Curtain tonight, they were taking their PPV title shot.  Early and constant double teaming from the Ryzing Storm kept the Curtain on the defensive and things didn’t exactly get better when Pete the PUN-isher came out.  However, Pete’s potential interference was curbed when the Curtain’s friend and ally Biceps Bannerman came out practically scaring the crap out of Pete.  Pete took off and that allowed the Curtain to get back to business and then easily defeated the Storm after Starbuck hit Travis with the ‘Around the World’ (bounced his head off of each turnbuckle) and got the pin.  The Curtain retain their spot and are ready for the Tag Champs. (14 min)

Back in Max’s office, the Super Shockmaster is there and says he’ll sign the contract and agree to the match against Adam Jameson at the PPV but only if the stipulation of “ECW Rules” is added.  Max says that AJ agreed to that (open to any stipulation to get the match) and SS signs the contract and says that AJ’s time in HCW is at an end.  He laughs behind his Stormtrooper mask.

The next match on the card is a former Queen taking on her former Court teammate.  Ms Beckett heads to the ring first and is eventually followed out by Lady Hermann.  Beckett held her own and thwarted many attempts by her ladyship to throw her out of the ring.  Finally, Beckett hurled Hermann out of the ring, followed her out and dropped her with the Knight Rider.  Beckett rolls back in beating the 10 count and wins this one my countout decision.  Ladies Champion the Duchess comes out and stares at her but then leaves.  (7 ½ min)

The Savior is backstage and says he’s heard that Wendell Hammerschmidt is in line for a title HE used to own and how he was never given a rematch.  He says he wants Wendell in the ring tonight and once he wins, he will take that title shot too.  Savior is reminded that he has a match against Crocodile Hunter and Savior says he’s open to wrestling twice on the show to show how good he is.

The next match kicks off with Madame Jade making her way down to the ring.  She is followed out by Starr Vixen who gets a huge pop from the crowd.  For 11 minutes, Jade dominated the match but after attempting a flying dropkick from the top rope and missing, the tide turned in favor of Starr Vixen.  Vixen then dominated the match and kept Jade on the defensive for most of the match.  The clock then starts to wind down and we’re running out of time.  Jade would not stay down for a three count.  Jade attempted a Jade Breaker but Starr hit her with an elbow to the throat.  Just as that was going on, Taylor Bella ran down and hid from view.  When Starr made the cover, Jade’s foot was close enough to the ropes but Taylor reached in and held it down preventing Jade from kicking out.  Starr Vixen wins the match with seconds to spare.  Taylor then slides in the ring and attacks Jade.  Ravishing Ruby Princess runs down and joins in the melee.  These three are not on the card but the match may be added to the Fanfest.  We’ll have to wait and see.

The US champion ‘The Ragin Cajun’ Rad Gumbo is backstage and says he’ll be at ringside to scout the match between Wendell and the Savior.

We go back to the ring for 6 man tag team action.  The 5th Column (Baron von Blood, Oswald Zimmerman and Karl Braun) all make their way to the ring first to booing from the fans.  Next, the Muscles Trio comes out and they’re acting all goofy wearing their rainbow colored bull horns and handing out mini boxes of cereal with their likenesses on them to the fans in hopes of winning them over.  Both teams held the advantage over the other back and forth during the match but it wasn’t till the end that the Muscles Trio began to shine.  After taking out both the Baron and Oswald, Muscles Thorpe hit Karl Braun with the Muscles Crush and got the 3 count.  The Muscles Trio get the win but they still haven’t won the fans over.  They end up leaving to a mixed reaction.  (27 min)

Backstage, the Axe is pacing and complains to anyone walking by that he’s not being given a chance to wrestle.   Crocodile Hunter walks by and says he’ll take him up on that.  I guess the Axe wasn’t exactly expecting someone to take him up on the challenge.

The Savior makes his way out first to booing from the fans.  Next, Wendell Hammerschimidt comes out to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Max comes out and says that Wendell has already signed the contract so he tells the Savior that if he wants this match, he has to get a win in 10 minutes or less.  If he does not, Wendell keeps the match at the PPV.  The match was nothing short of an ass-kicking…by the Savior.  He totally owned Wendell but nothing he could do would keep him down for the 3 count.  Just as the time limit was going to run out, the Savior hits Wendell with a brain buster hoping that would do the trick but just then, the Crocodile Hunter appeared on stage and that distracted the Savior for one second too long and the time limit expired. Wendell Hammerschimidt retains the spot.  The Savior takes off to go after Croc.  Rad gets in the ring and shakes hands with Wendell before hitting him with a low blow and then locking in the Onion twist.  Wendell screams and is tapping out but Rad won’t let go.  Finally he does and stares at his PPV opponent before walking away in disgust.  (10 min for the match; 5 min for the aftermath)

Backstage, the Savior can’t find Croc so he storms out of the building, gets into his car and leaves.

It’s time for the main event.  The Axe comes out first and is booed pretty heavily.  Crocodile Hunter comes out next and gets the loudest pop of the night.  The fight never takes place in the ring as the Axe drags Croc from the ring and fights all the way to the back.  Uh, Oh, I think it’s a set up.  Yep, the Savior is there waiting and he jumps in and beats down on Croc.  Once sufficiently subdued, Savior hands a wad of cash to the Axe who then leaves.  As the Savior turns around, he notices Croc is gone.  He looks around frantically and then screams in frustration as the show comes to an end.

The Fanfest / Hall of Fame ceremony is next and then this weekend, it’s PPV time!
