HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #560

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  Today’s show kicks off back in GM Max McGillicutty’s office.  On one side is CJ.  On the other, the Elitist Reid Rothchild and his manager Master Bull.  Max says that this constant arresting of HCW superstars is getting out of hand.  Max lays out a contract that will give CJ a match against Reid Rothchild for the Elitist Title.  Reid tried to complain but Max shushed him.  CJ asked what the catch was.  Max said that he could not, physically or with any sort of object from a spitball to an automotive vehicle, ‘touch’ Reid.  CJ smiles and signs the contract as Reid complains.  CJ goes to leave and appears to jump in Reid’s face expecting him to flinch but the champ does not (Master Bull however, did step back a step).  CJ left.  Max tells Reid that this is the one and only chance CJ has at the Elitist title.  If Reid is successful in defending his title, he will never have to defend it again against CJ.  Reid smiles and also signs.  Bull says they need to go scout for tonight’s show but for safety’s sake, they’ll do it from the protection of their dressing room.

Match #1:   Lexy Flexx makes her way out to the ring.  Next, Scarlett Phoenix comes out and she gets a loud pop from the crowd.  Lexy attacks her before the bell.  The ref finally regains some composure and starts the match.  Phoenix was on fire and practically destroyed Lexy until Scarlett attempted a flying kneedrop but missed.  Lexy then pulled her to the corner and wrapped her knee around the steel post.  She then pulled her back in and locked in a four-leg clover leglock.  Scarlett had no choice but to tap out to avoid further injury.  Lexy Flexx wins this one via submission.  (10 min).  Scarlett had to be helped out of the ring to the back.

US Champion ‘The Ragin Cajun’ Rad Gumbo shows up with his manager MJ.  He looks at the lineup for tonight but does not see his name listed.  He pushes the creative team aside, tears off a name from the board and says that tonight, the US champ is here.  He glares at them and tells them to make sure he has a solid opponent tonight.

Match #2:  Mason the Mangler comes out with his manager Ant Graham.  Next, his opponent ‘The Gold Standard’ Bruce Biltmore comes out.  The Mangler goes right on the offensive but Bruce shuts him down.  In fact, Bruce had control of the entire match but he could not get a pin attempt.  Ant got involved a couple of times but it didn’t help.  Once the bell rang bringing this one to a time limit draw, the Smashers came out threatening to attack Mason (not sure why they have a beef with him) but Ice Dagger came out with a chair and the Smashers left.  (20 min draw)

Backstage, the World Tag Team Champs Pete the PUN-isher and the King of Cones Magnum Kone are backstage with their manager the Ambassador.  Pete questions why a team who was on suspension wins a crappy-ass tournament against a bunch of losers, and now are in line for a title shot.   Pete says this is beneath them and if he is forced to defend his (yes, he’s leaving Magnum out) title, then he will not be responsible for the carnage that will soon follow.  Pete then storms off leaving Mangum and the Ambassador behind.

Match #3:  Ice Dagger vs Bishop Ripley.  Bishop Ripley looked great in the ring and Ice Dagger struggled.  ID asked his manager (Ant Graham) for help more often that he probably should have.  Ant was lucky he didn’t get his face punched in by Ripley.  Ripley set up and signaled he was going to hit the Alien Resurrection but Dagger grabbed the ref and Ant blasted Ripley with his cane breaking over his head.  Ripley collapsed in the ring.  Dagger went for the pin and got the 3 count.  Ice Dagger gets the win to the booing from the fans.  All of a sudden, the Smashers came back out and attacked Dagger dropping him with a doomsday device.  Mason, who had left, ran back out only to meet a similar fate.  The Smashers stood victorious over them as Ant yelled at them from the outside.  (14 min for the match; 5 extra for the attack)

Backstage, Sonic Blade approaches King Wilber and asks what the hell that was last show.  King Wilber looks at him and says "As of today, today, tomorrow, and every day passing forward, you stand alone. And alone you shall fall.”  King Wilber looks at the camera.  “But you, my loyal subjects, you shall stand with me and you never have to be alone ever again. You stand with me and you will remember me not as a monster but you will remember me for what I truly am: a KING."  Wilber walks away and Sonic just stands there shaking his head.

We head back to the ring for Match #4:  Jesse California makes his way out first to a decent pop.  Next, King Wilber comes out.   The two slugging it out is what started the match and almost what brought it to a close.  His Royalness and the young man from the West Coast went toe to toe for the entire match.  Wilber got lucky and hit Jesse with hammering blows to the back but Jesse hit the Famouser leg drop.  Wilber got up and locked Jesse in a rear chin lock and when Jesse tried to power out of it, Wilber turned it into a pin attempt and with his feet on the ropes, got the 1-2-3.  King Wilber gets the win.  (14 min).  Just then, Sonic Blade came out and tried to point out to the ref that Wilber cheated to get the win.  Unfortunately, the ref couldn’t do anything about it.  Wilber, though, paid close attention and then as he was leaving, whispered “You’re next”.

Backstage, Ant Graham, Mason the Mangler and Ice Dagger demand a match against the Smashers at the PPV.  GM Max McGillicutty just so happened to be walking by, heard this and thought it would be good for business so he said he’d make it happen.

Match #5 is next.  First, Baron von Blood makes his way out and he is still booed.  Next, blaring over the loudspeakers comes “Gumbo 7:30 says it’s suppa time bitch!” and the US champion the Ragin Cajun Rad Gumbo comes out accompanied by his manager MJ.  MJ is quick to remind us that this is a non-title match.  The Baron was quick to gain the upper hand but the constant interference from MJ helped the US champion continue on.  The Baron then caught Rad with a German lariat and was getting ready to go for the pin but MJ was too far to prevent that so he grabbed the ref by the leg and pulled him out of the ring.  He then slugged the ref and the ref called for the bell.  Rad Gumbo has been disqualified due to manager interference.   Gumbo then hurled the Baron out of the ring and then he and MJ started to leave.  The Baron, pissed off, followed right after them.  (12 min)

Backstage, ScooterJ sees that his name was the one removed from the card tonight.  He is not happy about it.  Max says that to make it up to him, he’ll put him in a match against the Hardcore Champion the Stache at the next show.  ScooterJ calmed down and then left.

Also backstage are the Steel Curtain (Starbuck and Buzz Steel).  Buzz said he heard the comments of the champs and calls them suckas.  Starbuck says that Pete and Magnum will underestimate them and that will be their downfall.  Buzz chimes back in and says “Word” and they both exit the shot.

It’s time for the MAIN EVENT and it will be for the TV title.  First, the challenger the Hollywood Star came out to an ok reaction.  Next the champion ‘Red Hot’ Lucas Johnston came out and he was much better received.  The fans seem to be back on his side after he dumped the Ambassador as his manager.  Lucas shined like a star in this match but as much as he dominated the bout (148 to 75), he could not keep the Hollywood Star down for a three count.  Finally, the bell rang bringing this one to a draw.  An exhausted Lucas made it to his feet only to see standing there in the ring…Biceps Bannerman.  Bannerman clubbed the champ and then nailed him with the Dominator.  Biceps takes a mic and says he is challenging Lucas for the TV title at the PPV.

The show comes to an end with the fans booing Biceps but he doesn’t care.

Thanks for reading.  The PPV is getting closer so be sure to stick around.
