Hello fans and welcome to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter. Let’s get right to the news.
For
the Fanfest, our three inductees had practically never ending lines but they
stayed and signed and took pictures for each person in line. It did also seem that Dash Woodbrick tried to
sneak his way in however Dennis Marshall caught him and called the
authorities. Dash ended up setting up a
table and tried to sell his autograph.
We’ll never really know if anyone took the bite. He gave up once the rain started.
Once
the fanfest ended, everyone broke to get ready for the Hall of Fame
Ceremony.
The
Ceremony begins with GM Max McGillicutty making his way out to the stage. He thanks the fans for attending the FanFest
and now, here to honor 3 great talents in HCW.
Tonight’s first inductee is Master Bull.
A recap of his storied career is shown on the big screen and it was a
great trip down memory lane. After the
video ended, out comes one of Bull’s closest friends – The Elitist Reid
Rothchild. Reid, a member of the HOF
also, steps up to the mic. “Master Bull
has been a staple of HCW since the beginning.
He has wrestled, managed and run the show. He is a one-of-a-kind who will never be
replicated. Ladies and Gentlemen, Master
Bull.” Reid steps away from the mic as
Master Bull makes his way out to the stage.
He gets a huge pop from the crowd.
He and Reid embrace and then Reid steps back as Bull takes the podium.
“In
2014, I entered the world of Professional Wrestling as Centurion, the Roman
Warrior. I was part of the Warrior
nation led by the Ultimate Warrior (RIP) and the Super Warrior. I learned so much working with them that I
decided I wanted more. I became a
manager and eventually, co GM of this wonderful organization. I ran into some rough times as you might
remember but everything eventually sorted itself out. As a performer, I had some great matches
(motions to Reid) back in the day and even just recently (points to the Banker
who smiles and points back). There are
so many great memories I will take away from my experience here. I’m thankful I got that “one more match” in
before I decided it was time to move on.
Whether you cheered or booed me (he raises an eyebrow ala the Rock),
just know that you made this journey one of the best things I’ve ever done in
my life. I want to thank my wife, Max,
the owners of HCW and of course, you, the fans, who made this one epic
ride. Thank you all.” The crowd gives Master Bull a round of
applause. He and Reid shake hands and
then exit the stage.
Next
up, we have Texas Wildfire. TW’s career
highlights show up on the big screen. Just
then, Dr. Red Fang storms up on stage.
“VAMPIRE LUNGES AND TRANSYLVANIA PILEDRIVERS FOR EVERONE”. The evil vampire bot is then removed from
stage by security. The loudspeakers then
announce our next inductee Texas Wildfire.
TW soaks in the applause and approaches the mic. “Well, you heard the evil doctor” (this
elicits laughter from the crowd). “But
in all seriousness, I could not have asked for a better federation and its
amazing fans to end this chapter of my life.
I’ve been around for years now
and held most of the belts in this federation as well as the HWF and CSWA
before it. I’ve had some great wars; won
some battles, lost some but in the end, you the fans are what continue to drive
the excitement of wrestling. But as we
all know, this sport, love it or hate it, takes its toll and it becomes a young
mans game. I’m proud of everything I’ve
accomplished; of the matches I’ve had and for the fans and the following
generation to come. Thank you all and I
hope you continue to support the next generation of performers like you’ve
shown to me. Thank you.” The audience gives him a standing ovation as
he leaves the stage.
A
video package then airs highlighting the career of the only and only Ragin
Cajun Rad Gumbo. The video shows
different scenes from the “Battle at Fry’s (market place)” as well as the dual
coronations as King of HCW. Then 2020
HOF inductee Magnum Kone makes his way out. He steps up to the podium.
“Rad Gumbo is someone who I not only wrestled against but had great admiration
for. He has surpassed what most other
wrestlers aspire for and finish it off with an induction into this great
organization’s hall of fame. Ladies and
Gentlemen…” The loud speakers then blare out “GUMBO 730 MEANS ITS SUPPA TIME,
BITCH” and out comes Rad Gumbo. Gumbo
shakes hands with Magnum and approaches the podium. He begins speaking with his Cajun accent but
then drops it completely. Everyone is
stunned. It was all an act.
“I
guess by now, you all know I’m not really Cajun. (laughs from the audience) Like many before who have entered the Hall
have stated, this is one of best places in the world. HCW has given me an outlet to showcase my
talent and whether I’m wrestling Magnum (points to the King of Kones), a legend
like the Iron Sheik, or any great talent, I hope they feel I brought out the
best in them as they did for me. Jack
(Lumber), (the Wicked) Prophet and many others are the future of this
sport. As my esteemed co-inductee TW
stated, this really is a young man’s game.
You have to be able to spring back from injury and I’m well beyond
that. The legit injury I sustained
hurting my leg and foot was the catalyst that showed me I needed to wrap things
up. As both a heel and face, I have
enjoyed performing in front of you here and watching from home. Every time you bought a ticket, bought a PPV
event or just came to a meet and greet, we do this for you and you made it a
wonderful experience every step of the way.
Thanks to management for giving us an outlet to perform for you. It has been a wonderful experience.” Rad steps back and claps his hands for the
audience who then stand and reciprocate.
Rad is then joined on stage by Master Bull and Texas Wildfire and the standing
ovation continues well beyond when then cameras stopped rolling.
Thanks
for watching. The PPV is up next. Stay tuned.
