HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2022 #935 – 03/16/22

Hello fans and welcome to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.  In an effort to get caught up on the shows, the results will be abbreviated.

 

Match #1:  Elimination Chamber Qualifier match #5:  Dr. Red Fang w/the Ambassador vs Outback Oscar.  The Hardcore title is not on the line.  After a few minutes, Oscar started to take control of the match but the interference from the Ambassador and a Transylvania Piledirver put an end to that.  Dr. Red Fang gets the win in 10 minutes and advances to the chamber.

 

Match #2:  Elimination Chamber Qualifier match #6:  Texas Wildfire vs. Madman Mason.  Texas Wildfire dominated the match but an appearance from the US Champion Wilber Townsend distracted him long enough for Mason to hit TW with a power bomb and pick up the win at the 7 minute mark.  Madman Mason is the final entrant into the Elimination Chamber.  After the match, Texas Wildfire challenged Wilber to a lights out match in two weeks for the US title.  Wilber agreed.

 

Match #3:  Albert Perez comes out and says that the Wicked Prophet is mowing through opponents on his way to the World title.  He says Prophet is picking easy opponents and no one that will give him a challenge.  Perez says that if Prophet has the guts, he’ll meet him.  Wicked Prophet comes out and accepts.  Perez, true to his word, was more than a match for the Wicked Prophet.  Prophet went for the Crucifix clutch too early and Albert got out easily.   Prophet immediately went for the move again much to the shock of Perez but he made it to the ropes to break the hold.  Prophet went for it a third time a few minutes later but Perez again made it to the ropes.  A few minutes later, Albert hit a leg drop and went for the pin but Prophet kicked out at 2.  Albert then hit the Darkness and went for the pin but Prophet once again kicked out.  Perez went for a sunset flip but Prophet rolled through it, leapt to the top rope and nailed a 450 splash.  He went for the cover (with a handful of tights) and got the 1-2-3.  Wicked Prophet gets the win in spectacular fashion.  Prophet got his hand raised and he stared at the camera and then pointed a finger calling out Jack.  (11 min)

 

Match #4:  Hayley Hailstorm vs Leslie Grimes.  The winner gets the next shot at the Ladies title.  Hayley started off strong and had the fans behind her every step of the way.  Hayley got a near fall after connecting with the Death Valley Driver and getting a 2 count. At the 11 min mark, Hayley hits the ropes and connects with the Flirting with Danger Knee smash.  She rolled Leslie up and got the 1-2-3.  Hayley gets the win and becomes the #1 contender.  Ladies Champion Violet Valkyrie came out gave Hayley an acknowledgement before heading backstage again.

 

Match #5: the Main Event:  6 Man Tag Team Match:  Tommy/Jake/Apollo vs Muscles Trio.  The Trio’s music played but no one came out.  Instead, the Snake Pit (Leiton, Niven and Tobias Snake) came out and said that the Trio could not make it so they are taking the spot instead.  They make their way to the ring.  The music changed and out comes the champs.  Tommy immediately began complaining but no one seemed to care.  Just then, the Muscles Trio showed up but were all bandaged up.  They said that the Snake Pit tried to take them out but it didn’t work.  The Pit left through the crowd and let the Muscles have this match.

The champs retain and the fans boo the crap out of them.  They laugh and mock the fans and hold the titles high as the show comes to an end.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2022 #934 – 03/09/22

Hello fans and welcome to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.  In an effort to get caught up on the shows, the results will be abbreviated.

 

Match #1:  Catalina Harper vs Derek Deveraux for the Anytime/Anywhere title.  This one took place backstage with Deveraux trying to get in a cheap shot but the champ held her own and ended up getting the win after hitting a jaw jacker.  Catalina gets the win and retains the title.

 

Match #2:  Korbi Kong takes on Chloe Parker.  The match remained neck and neck for the majority of the match but in the end, Korbi tosses Chloe to the ropes and delivers a huge powerslam to get the win at the 18 minute mark.  Korbi gets on the mic and says only one word…”Soon”.

 

There is an incident backstage where Tommy Lightning and Derek Deveraux attack the Steel Curtain laying them out.  Says that they want a title match and are willing to put their careers on the line.

 

Match #3:  Next, we have our 3^rd qualifier match for the Elimination Chamber with Apollo Gyze taking on Casper Wyoming.  Apollo, still smarting from his rematch loss for the crown against King Jack Lumber had him totally distracted.  Casper was able to take advantage of it and connects with the 52 Pickup at the 18 minute mark to move on to the Chamber.

 

Match #4:  Our 4^th qualifier match has Dennis Marshall taking on ‘the Bounty Hunter’ Jake Montrose.  This one ran a bit longer than the rest but Dennis was in rare form and stayed one step ahead of the Bounty Hunter.  Dennis picks up the win at the 20 minute mark after nailing a top-rope legdrop (the same move that sent Dash Woodbrick packing).

 

Match #5:  A special add on.  The Wicked Prophet came out and was booed mercilessly.  He gets on the mic and says he will continue to fight and rack up the wins until Jack Lumber finally acknowledges him as the #1 contender.  Prophet calls out Billy Robbins to be his opponent tonight.  Billy comes down and just as the bell rings, Prophet immediately locks in the Crucifix Clutch and Billy surprisingly taps right away.  The Wicked Prophet gets the win in under 30 seconds.  Prophet takes the mic and says “Jack, ACKNOWLEDGE ME”.

 

Backstage, King Jack Lumber is watching the monitor and shakes his head.  “Damn, that is impressive.”  An interviewer walks up and asks for his thoughts.  “No one says the Wicked Prophet isn’t a force to be reckoned with and this proves it.  I’m not the one who makes those decisions but if he continues on his winning streak, it would be safe to say we will meet again.”

 

It’s time for our 6^th Match and our main event of the evening.   The music starts and out comes Barry Morningstar accompanied by his manager the Ambassador.  They are booed as they head to the ring.  Once in the ring, the Ambassador gets on the mic.  “Only one person has taken Jack Lumber to the brink and LET him walk back…Barry Morningstar.” (the fans boo) “Only one person who was not handed the title on a silver platter has ever given Jack Lumber more than he can handle…Barry Morningstar.” (the booing intensifies).  “Only one man is going to crush the dreams of every HCW superstar tonight…Barry” … (the booing drowns out the rest).  Next, over the loudspeakers blares “Choppin’ Wood and Lookin’ Good” and out comes King Jack Lumber to a deafening pop from the crowd.  King Jack comes out and stands on the stage and looks out at the audience.  He nods to them and begins the walk to the ring.  He stops in front on the Lumber Lounge and shakes hands with some of the fans before resuming his walk to the ring.  He gets into the ring and hands his stuff to the ring attendant and waits for the bell to ring.

Jack Lumber gets the win and retains due to outside interference from the Ambassador.  Barry tried to attack Jack again but Jack quickly dispatched him.  He then went after the Ambassador but Barry made the save.  The show comes to an end with Jack standing tall while Barry and his manager made their way to the back.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2022 #933 – 03/02/22

Hello fans and welcome to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.  In an effort to get caught up on the shows, the results will be abbreviated.

 

Match 1:  Derek Deveraux vs a local guy who calls himself Brash Toothpick.  Brash wears a mask to conceal his identity (wait, is that Dash Woodbrick….nah).   In 16 minutes, Brash picks up the win after a finger poke to the eye.  The fans seem to get a kick out of this guy.

 

Match #2:  The Wicked Prophet vs Ghee Buttersnaps.  Prophet continues his winning streak since returning after a quick 6 min win over Ghee after hitting him with the SMITE.  After the match, Prophet gets on the mic and says he is getting closer and Jack should be worried about him and less about the joke he’s wrestling tonight.

 

Match #3 is our first Elimination Chamber qualifier with Phantom Frank taking on Jesse California.  It takes 26 minutes but Phantom Frank gets the win after applying the Grim Reaper Squeeze and pinning Jesse.  Frank moves on to the Chamber.

 

Match #4 is our second Elimination Chamber qualifier with Biceps Bannerman taking on Bishop Ripley.  This one was closer than expected but Bannerman walks away with the win via countout after Ripley got thrown out of the ring and was not able to make it back in.   Biceps moves on to the Chamber.

 

Match #5 is our main event with Apollo Gyze challenging his Royalness King Jack Lumber for the crown.  Apollo says Jack stole the match and subsequently, the crown from him and tonight, he takes his rightful property back.  The World Title is NOT on the line tonight.
