HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2020 #822 (1/15/20)


Hello fans and welcome to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.  Tonight, we have a real treat for you with not 1, not 2 but 3 Elimination Chamber qualifying matches.  Tonight 3 wrestlers get the opportunity to find out who will challenge the Wicked Prophet for the World Title.  Also on the card, the Six Man Tag team Champions Maximillian Redbeard, Superquake Ferguson and Killa Pops will defend their titles.  The number 1 contenders El Chango, Leon Teremoto and Magnum Kone were supposed to be next in line but they were attacked by the Snake Pit.  El Chango and team have agreed to postpone their title shot until the PPV so that they can deal with the Pit.  Finally, in our main event, the US title will be on the line with the unapologetic champion Apollo Gyze taking on ‘the Ragin Cajun’ Rad Gumbo.  Let’s get started with the action.


Pyro goes off and the show is ready to begin.  First, Scooter J comes out to major booing from the crowd.  He is accompanied by his tag team partner TNT.  They jaw jack with the fans and Scooter J threatens to hit a couple but restrains himself.  He and TNT climb into the ring and continue the verbal assault against the fans.  The music changes and the fans pop HUGE as Texas Wildfire comes out.  He makes his way down to the ring and then climbs in.  TNT takes a cheap shot at Wildfire and the ref ejects him from the ring sending him to the back.  Scooter J tried to complain but it didn’t’ do any good.  With TNT gone, the bell rings and this one takes off.   Scooter J and Wildfire went toe to toe for a good solid 5 minutes until TW caught him with a hangman’s clothesline.  Wildfire then controlled the match for the next 10 minutes getting 3 near falls.  Scooter J then connected with a superkick at the 15 minute mark but TW managed to kick out at the last possible moment.  The ref then took a bump and was down.   Just then, Dr. Red Fang came in from the crowd and blasted Scooter J with a Vampire Lunge.  TW and the ref both made it to their feet at roughly the same time.  TW then connected with another Hangman’s clothesline.  He went for the pin and the ref counted 1-2-3. Texas Wildfire gets the win and with this, he is the first to qualify for the Elimination Chamber.  Scooter J gets up after TW has left and he is mumbling under his breath.  He’s not done with Fang.  (24 min)


Catalina Harper is backstage and she’s gloating about beating everyone under the sun.  Just then, Violet Valkyrie walks up to her and says “You’re not as good as you think you are.  One of us was a Champion; you…are a stand in.”  Catalina gets into her face and challenges her to match tonight.  Violet accepts and says once she beats her, she’ll be the #1 contender for the Ladies title.  Violet walks off and Catalina stands there stewing.


We head back to the ring for our next Elimination Chamber qualifier.  First, the loudspeakers blare “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE” and out comes Dr. Red Fang and his manager the Ambassador.  The two are booed heavily as they make their way to the ring.  Fang, that despicable vampire, almost bit a fan.  They get in the ring and Fang continues to mock the fans.  The music changes and then Phat Sol makes his way out.  The fans give him a very warm reception as he makes his way down to the ring.  As soon as he enters, Fang attacks and the match begins.  Phat definitely had some ring rust going on but as the match progressed, he started to warm back up.  He drops Fang with the Phat Phat (brainbuster) and goes for a pin but the Ambassador put Fang’s foot on the bottom rope to stop the count.  Fang eventually began to battle back and with the help of his dastardly manager, he took control of the match.  At the 18 minute mark, the Ambassador tried to interfere again but Phat dropped him with a straight right hand.  The Ambassador fell off the ring apron.  Phat turned around and Fang eye gouged him.  Fang then rolled Phat up and put his feet on the second rope for leverage (and a handful of tights as well).  The ref made the count not seeing the feet on the ropes and counted to three.  Dr. Red Fang gets the win and is the second person entering the chamber.  The Ambassador made it into the ring and raised Fang’s arm as the victor.  Just then, Scooter J hit the ring with a steel chair in hand and smashed the Ambassador with it dropping him to the mat.  He turned to Fang and smashed the chair over the head of the vampire.  Fang didn’t fall.  In fact, he got this crazed look in his eyes as a trickle of blood made its way down the side of his face.  Scooter J rammed the chair into Fang’s ribs taking the air out of his lungs.  He then dropped the chair and DDT’d Fang on the chair.  That did it.  Fang is out.  Scooter J stands tall and laughs and the fans boo him.  He sneers at Fang and walks away.  (19 min for the match; 5 for the aftermath).


We are treated to a vignette.  Who is Korbi Kong.  We learn that she hails from Colorado Springs, CO.  We learn that she was raised by wolves in the in the icy peaks of the Pikes Peak range.  Her rough and tumble nature naturally led her to UFC style fighting but she opted to eventually make it to the (somewhat) quieter world that is professional wrestling.  After breaking a door off its hinges (she pulled when she should have pushed), she decided that this would be the life for her.


We head back to the ring for our 3rd Elimination Chamber qualifier.  First, the lights go dim and a single lantern lights the ramp.  Wilber Townsend makes his way out wearing his creepy mask.  He is booed and he turned abruptly towards a couple of unruly fans and he scared them causing them to jump back.  The fans around them laughed.  Wilber gets into the ring and removes his mask.  He then motions for his opponent to join him.  The music changed and out we hear “TIMMMMMMMMMBERRRRRRRR” and out comes the flannel wearing lumberjack Jack Lumber accompanied by his tag team partner the Masked Banana.   MB stands with Lumber on the stage and then Jack heads to the ring solo.   Jack gets in the ring and gives Wilber a weary glance and then raises his arms to a pop from the crowd all the while keeping an eye on Wilber.  The bell rings and this one is off.  Jack started off strong but a low blow from Wilber curtailed his offensive run.  Jack was starting to make his way back and went for the TIMBERRRR but Wilber moved and took him to the mat and began pummeling him with mounted elbow smashes.  He then quickly hooked the leg and with a handful of tights, he got the 1-2-3.  Wilber just stole the win.  With this match completed, we now have 3 of our 5 competitors for the Elimination Chamber.  Jack was a little depressed but the fans popped for him anyway trying to lift his spirits.  He shook hands with a few of the fans before heading to the back.  (6 min)


We head backstage and we’re with Adam Jameson.  AJ says that he was totally robbed in his match against Husky Kahn and challenges the newcomer to a rematch.  Husky walks in and calls AJ a crybaby and if he wants another shot at him, he’d be happy to oblige.  Husky walks off and AJ seems appeased.


Our next match gets underway when Catalina Harper makes her way down to the ring amid booing from the fans.  She nonchalantly flips them all off and smiles about it.  She gets in the ring and begins to pace like a cat.  The fans pop as Violet’s music hits and she comes out to a loud explosive pop from the crowd.  She makes her way down to the ring and slides under the bottom rope.  Catalina bails from the ring.  Violet climbs the turnbuckle with arms raised high.  She steps down and beckons for Catalina to return to the ring.  Eventually Catalina returns and the match begins.  About 2 minutes into the match, Hayley Hailstone snuck in from the crowd and when Violet was on the outside of the ring, Hayley rammed Violet into the steel post before sneaking off in the crowd.  Catalina went out and dragged Violet back in the ring.   Violet was busted open.  Catalina continued to beat her down and then finally hit a vicious forearm uppercut.  Violet dropped to the mat.  Catalina went for the pin and got the 1-2-3.  Catalina gets the win but her celebration is cut short when Taylor Bella makes her way out.  She tried to tell the ref about the cheating Catalina participated in.  Catalina mocked Taylor who charged at her in the ring.  Catalina bailed out of the ring and walked backwards up the ramp laughing at Taylor.  When Taylor had enough of the mocking, she ran after Catalina who turned tail and bolted to the back.  Taylor followed her to the back.  Violet started to stir but as she was getting to her feet, Hayley attacked her from behind dropping her with the What the Hail.  Hayley stood over Violet but turned when Catalina came running back out being chased by Taylor.  Violet got to her feet as all 4 women were in the ring and began brawling.  While the brawl was going on, Ladies Champion Maxine DeVito came out and laughed at them fighting amongst themselves.  The ladies in the ring stopped and saw Maxine on the stage laughing and they all took off to go after Maxine.  Her eyes went super wide as she saw 4 women charging at her and she took off before anyone could get her. 


We head backstage with the Six Man Tag Team Champions Killa Pops, Maximillian Redbeard and Superquake Ferguson.  Pops says that they are ok with the postponement against El Chango and team but tonight, they still have to defend the titles tonight.  GM Master Bull walks in and says that the champs will defend the titles tonight against the O.O.G.  Redbeard asked “Who the hell is that?”  Bull says “You don’t know?  Come on…Ovaltine Jackson, Outback Oscar and Ghee Buttersnaps.”  Pops said “What is the holy hell is that supposed to be?”  The champs walk off shaking their heads.  Bull looks after them.  “WHAT?”


Our first title match is next.  First, Ovaltine Jackson, Outback Oscar and Ghee Buttersnaps make their way out to a pop from the crowd.  They head into the ring and begin to get the crowd pumped up.  Next, the Champs make their way out and the fans pop huge for Killa Pops, Superquake Ferguson and Maximillian Redbeard.  The champs head down to the ring holding their titles over their heads.  They get into the ring and each man climbs the turnbuckle holding their titles high.  They step down and hand the titles to the ref.  He sends 4 men out of the ring and the match begins.  The champs started strong but then the challengers got in a triple team on Killa Pops that led to a pin attempt but Killa kicked out at 2.   Killa eventually makes the tag to Redbeard.  After a few moments, the champs got in back to back double teams and that gave them the advantage.  They continued to hold the lead throughout the match.  At one point, the champs each hit huge moves on their opponents; Ferguson hit Oscar with a chokeslam, Redbeard hit Ghee with a Knoggin Stomp and Pops hit Ovaltine with the Pimp Drop.  This gave the champs the extra oompf they needed to close the match.  Redbeard got tagged in and dropped a huge leg drop on Ghee.  He made the cover and got the uncontested 1-2-3.  The champs are victorious and retain their titles.  They celebrate in the ring and then El Chango, Leon Teremoto and Magnum Kone came out.  The walked to the ring and climbed in.  They extended their hands to the champs who shook them.  The challengers didn’t let go though.  In fact, they attacked the champs beating them down.  Everyone was shocked as the Desperados and the King of Cones put the boots to the champions.  El Chango gets on the mic and says that they were bullied out of the match tonight by the champs because they were afraid to meet them.  They say that they were set to wrestle tonight but someone else thinks the money match is at the PPV.  That’s fine; they’ll take the extra paycheck.  Magnum asks the fans not to boo them as they are not the bad guys here; the champs are.  The match is still on and they will become the new champs.  Surprisingly, the fans didn’t boo them but gave them a nice pop.   Pops, Superquake and Redbeard scowled as they left to go to the back.  (24 min for the match; 5 for the aftermath)


We head backstage and meet up with ‘the Ragin Cajun’ Rad Gumbo and his manager Ms. Alexandria.  Rad says that tonight for fun, he is going to beat the tar out of Apollo and while he’s at it, he’s taking the US title.  Rad says he is not apologize for exposing Apollo for the goofball he is.  The CHAMP takes the belt home tonight.  Rad and his manager walk off.


Also backstage is the US Champion.  Apollo calls Gumbo a crybaby wannabe and says that the only punishment being dished out tonight is the ass-whupping he’s dishing on Gumbo.  Apollo picks up a pencil and snaps it in half before walking off.


It is time for our main event.  The loudspeaker blares “GUMBO 7:30 MEANS ITS SUPPA TIME, BITCH” and out comes the Ragin Cajun and his manager.  The fans pop loudly for him.  He makes his way down to the ring and climbs the turnbuckle getting the fans psyched up for the match.  Everything goes sour when we hear “APOLLO GYZE DON’T APOLOGIZE” and the US Champion makes his way to the loudest booing of the evening.  The champ saunters down the ring basking in the venom the fans are spewing his way.  He climbs in the ring and Rad takes one step towards him and Apollo bails out of the ring.  He begins to yell at the ref to make Gumbo step back so he can enter.  Gumbo is in disbelief that this coward holds the 3rd highest title in HCW.  He shakes his head and steps back to the corner.  After some hemming and hawing, Apollo FINALLY gets into the ring.  Gumbo asks for the match to begin and once the bell rang, Rad went after Apollo who once again bailed out of the ring.  The ref wasn’t taking his crap this time and began counting.   Apollo told the ref to stop but almost got counted out.  Once back in the ring, the match officially began.

Rad Gumbo gets the win and becomes the NEW US CHAMPION!  Apollo can’t believe it.  Gumbo is handed the title and he holds it proudly over his head.  Apollo rolls out of the ring and grabs a steel chair.  He slides back in and pearl harbors Rad smacking him repeatedly with the chair.  Apollo then makes a mock cover and slaps the mat three times.  He grabs the title and declares himself the champion and he leaves the ring.  Medics hit the ring and check on Rad.  He’s wearing a crimson mask and he shrugs them off.  He glares at Apollo through his rose colored glasses as the show comes to a conclusion.


Be sure to tune back in as things are really heating up.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2020 #821 (1/8/20)


Hello fans and welcome back to the first show of the new year.  The HCW Newsletter is back and is in full swing.  On the card tonight, the returning Taylor Bella takes on Missy Chick.  The Ragin Cajun Rad Gumbo will also be here tonight to address his injury (due to the clumsiness of Apollo Gyze).  Husky Kahn will also make his debut tonight against the veteran Adam Jameson.  Justice and Flash – the Freedom Fighters – will be in tag team action tonight.  All this plus 2 championship matches and an appearance from the World Champion the Wicked Prophet gets our show off the ground.


Pyro goes off and the show is ready to get underway.  First out is Missy Chick who is booed as she heads to the ring.  She sneers at the fans and flips a few of them off before getting into the ring.  Next the music changes and the fans pop as Taylor Bella makes her return to the ring.  She makes her way down to the ring shaking hands with the fans.  Missy continues to taunt her from the ring. Taylor grabs a mic and says that she is back in HCW because she has unfinished business to attend to.  She feels she has one last run in her tank as the Ladies Champion and the road to that title shot begins tonight.  She gets in the ring and the match begins almost immediately.  The match was practically even and looked like it was going to end on a draw but then Catalina Harper came out with a mic and blasted Taylor for thinking she could leave and come back expecting to get a title match off the bat.  Taylor planted Missy with a sitout facebuster and then turned to address Catalina.  This gave Missy time to recover.  Missy then hit her from behind and threw her into the corner but Taylor missed the turnbuckles and her shoulder hit the steel post (SMACK).  Missy pulled her back in and locked in a scissored armbar.  She wrenched on the arm and Taylor had no choice but to tap out.  Missy let go and Taylor rolled out of the ring.  Catalina got on the mic again and made fun of Taylor for losing.  Taylor took off after her and Catalina ran off laughing. (20 min)



Missy remained in the ring and began gloating how, if she could beat a former Ladies Champion, she can beat ANYONE including the stupid fans.  One particular fan took offense and climbed over the barrier.  She said she would answer Missy’s challenge.  Missy laughed and accepted the challenge.  The ref asked the new lady her name and she said she was called Korbi Kong.  The bell rang.  Korbi began stunning Missy with some lefts and rights until a few minutes in and Missy dropped Korbi with an exploder suplex.  Korbi was stunned and took some abuse from Missy including two scissored armbars which she powered out of.  Korbi hit Missy with a backbreaker and then dumped her in the center of the ring.  She then looked to the fans who popped as she climbed to the top turnbuckle, flashed the “Superfly” sign and then leapt off and connected with the Mile High Flying Elbow drop.  She hooked the leg and the ref counted 1…2…3.  Korbi gets the win and the fans pop huge for her.  The ref raises her arm in victory.  Just then, GM Max McGillicutty came out and asked Korbi if she wanted a contract to wrestle in HCW.  Korbi quickly accepted and it looks like we have another addition to the Ladies roster.  Welcome to HCW Korbi!  (10 min)


We head backstage and are with the newest tag team Flash and Justice – the Freedom Fighters.  Flash says that they are here for tag team gold and tonight, they are challenging the Flannelnanas for their spot in the Tag team top 10.  Justice adds that they will quickly move up the ladder and before you know it, they’ll have their shot at the Steel Curtain.


Next, we go back to the ring.  First, Adam Jameson comes out to a nice pop from the crowd.  Once in the ring, the music changes and out comes one of our newest editions – Husky Kahn.  We are treated to a quick bio from him on the Omegatron as he makes his way to the ring.  We learn he has goals and aspirations to become a sumo wrestler but he never managed to get to the needed weight regardless of how many double big macs he consumed.  He finally gave up on the Sumo style and settled for professional wrestling.  Husky gets into the ring and is acting all arrogant.  The fans take an instant dislike to him and begin to boo.  His upper lip begins to curl and he treats the fans with the same disrespect shown to him.  He turns back to Adam and immediately attacks him.  Adam tries to take him down with a single leg take down but Husky nullifies it.  Adam stuns him with flying dropkick and tries to follow it up with a springboard face smash but Husky catches him mid-air and drops him with a chokeslam.  Husky follows it up with the Muso.   Husky goes to the top rope and jumps hitting a B-52 splash squishing Adam like a grape.  Husky then hurls Adam over the top rope but Adam hangs on and jumps back into the ring going for a spin kick but Husky swats him away and nails another choke slam.  He then hurls Adam over the top rope.  The fans boo as the ref counts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.  Adam gets counted out and Husky Kahn gets his first win (via countout) in HCW.  The fans boo even louder and Husky just leaves ignoring them.  (6 ½ min)


After a brief lull, the loudspeaker lights up with “GUMBO 7:30 MEANS ITS SUPPA TIME, B!TCH” and out comes the Ragin Cajun Rad Gumbo accompanied by his manager Ms. Alexandria.  The fans pop pretty damn loud as Gumbo makes his way to the ring.  He enters and gets on the mic.  He talks about beating the tar out of the Iron Sheik last year only to be taken out by crap left on the floor by none other than Apollo Gyze.  Gumbo calls Apollo out and demands he come down to the ring.  We are then treated to “APOLLO GYZE DON’T APOLOGIZE” and the US Champion make his way out.  Apollo calls Rad clumsy and simple minded.  Rad demands an apology and (of course) Apollo refuses.  Gumbo says he’ll come over there and take it from his hide.  Apollo stands his ground.  Ms. Alexandria whispers something to Rad so Rad asks for one of the GM’s to come out.  GM Master Bull comes out.  Apollo shoots him dirty looks.  Rad says that the world has been waiting for him to return and he wants a shot at Apollo and the US title.  Having been King and having held multiple belts including the World title, he wants this.  Master Bull says that the way the top 10’s are set up, Gumbo has to earn his spot.   Rad asks who the #1 contender to the US title is.   Bull consults his clipboard.  “According to this, it’s…the Masked Banana.  But hang on a sec…”  He shuffles through some papers.  “Oops, my bad.  It looks like YOU are actually the #1 contender.  Huh.  Wonders never cease.”  Apollo begins to get into Master Bull’s face.  Gumbo redirects his attention back to the ring as Master Bull leaves.  “Mon Ami, You and I…next week….I will take your apology or I will take your title.”   Gumbo drops the mic and begins to make his way towards Apollo who glances at this watch, and then takes off through the curtain.  Gumbo and Ms. Alexandria stop on the stage, turn to acknowledge the fans and go through the curtain.


Back in the office of the GM, Max and Bull are having a conversation when the World Champion the Wicked Prophet walks in.  Prophet tells them that he is officially throwing his name in for the battle royal to challenge for the crown at the Reigning Royalty PPV.  Max says he will accept it but reminds the champ that he will also have to defend the World title that same night.  Prophet asks who his opponent will be. Bull says that he will be making an announcement later tonight.  Prophet walks off in a huff (or is that a minute and a huff).


We head back to the ring for our next match.  First, the music hits and the fans pop as Jack Lumber and the Masked Banana make their way out to the ring.  Tonight, the Freedom Fighters are challenging them for their spot in the Tag team top 10 lineup.  The fans enjoy the “Hey Margarita” song that plays.  The music is abruptly cut off and out comes the Freedom Fighters.  The fans boo as Justice and Flash make their way to the ring.  They immediately attack the Flannelnanas.  Jack gets incapacitated early and the Masked Banana tries to fight off the Fighters but the numbers prove too great.  Eventually Jack recovers and enters the ring clearing house.  Flash hits Jack with a low blow (Justice was distracting the ref) and Jack made the tag to the Masked Banana but since the ref didn’t see it, he wouldn’t allow the tag.  Justice and Flash beat down on Jack until the master lumberjack hit Flash with the Axe and then made the leap to his corner to tag in the Masked Banana.  MB tried to psyche up the crowd and started to get some momentum going but the Freedom Fighters double teamed him again wearing him out.  Flash dashed to the corner and knocked Jack off the ring apron.  Justice then tied up MB with a leglock grapevine and then turned it into a pin attempt.  The ref counted to 3 and awarded the match to the Freedom Fighters.  The ref raised their arms in victory and then bailed as they saw an irate Lumberjack come charging at them.  Lumber shot them some nasty looks and the Freedom Fighters ignored Jack and celebrated their win and their move up the ladder.  (19 min)


There is a commotion backstage where we see Rad Gumbo being attacked by Apollo Gyze.  Apollo smacked Rad with a steel chair across the back a couple of times but Rad had enough and wrenched the chair from Apollo’s hands.  The US Champion then took off again with a very irate Cajun hot on his tail.   I pity Apollo if Rad gets his hands on him.


The Anytime/Anywhere Champion Col. Flagg is walking backstage.  Regulator Mammoth runs over with a ref in tow and hits Flagg.  Flagg throws him into a concrete pillar knocking him out.  Flagg tells the ref to count.  He puts his foot on Mammoth’s chest.  The ref counts 1-2-3.  This one is over before it ever really begins.  Flagg gets the win in just 30 seconds.


Backstage, the trio of Leon Teremoto, El Chango and Magnum Kone are talking about going after the 6 Man tag team titles.  Leon questions which team they should challenge.  Magnum offers “What about the Snake Pit?  We take them out and we’re the #1 team in line for the belts.”  The trio agree and they head to the ring for their match.


Our next match starts off with Leon, Magnum and El Chango making their way out to a nice solid pop from the crowd.  El Chango gets on the mic and calls out the Snake Pit.  Leiton, Niven and Tobias Snake all come out and accept the challenge from the competitors.  They make their way to the ring, do a fist bump and then enter the ring.  The bell rings once all 2 men from each team stepped outside the ropes so the match could begin.  The team of the Desperados and Magnum Kone dominated the first 10 minutes of the match.  The Pit then took out El Chango and Magnum leaving Leon on his own.  Leon held his own shrugging off attacks from the Pit when they attacked in full.  After the ref forced Tobias and Niven to leave the ring, Leon caught Leiton with an armbar scissored lock and turned it into a pin attempt.  He made the cover but the Pit could not make the save in time and Leon’s team gets the win.  The Pit tried to attack Leon again but El Chango and Magnum hit the ring and disposed of the Pit.  El Chango, Leon and Magnum stood tall with their arms raised in victory.  Just then, the 6 Man Tag Team Champions – Superquake Ferguson, Maximillian Redbeard and Killa Pops come out to a pop from the crowd.  Killa Pops says that it’s cool that they defeated the #1 contenders but they don’t feel that one match gives them the right to challenge for the 6 man titles.  Magnum and the Desperados consult.  Magnum says that in exchange for the title shot at the Reigning Royalty PPV, they will put their careers on the line.  If they lose, they retire from HCW.  The champs consult and Redbeard speaks for the team accepting the challenge.  It looks like the PPV is already shaping up.


We cut back to the office of the GM and Master Bull announces that at the Saturday Night Showdown this month, there will be an Elimination Chamber match to see who will challenge Wicked Prophet for World title at the Reigning Royalty PPV.  Over the next 2 shows, there will be 10 individuals chosen to wrestle in qualifier matches and the 5 winners will go to the Chamber with the victor getting the title shot at Wicked Prophet at the Reigning Royalty PPV.   He then announces the 10 names chosen.

It’s time for our main event for the Hardcore title.  First, Ivan Dragovich comes out to massive booing from the fans.  He flips them off and continues his path to the ring.  After some brief jaw jacking with the fans, the music changed and out comes the Hardcore Champion Outback Oscar.  The fans pop for him but Ivan doesn’t wait for him to get to the ring so he rushes him and attacks him on the ramp.  The two fought tooth and nail for a good solid 5 minutes before taking the action back to the ring.  At 7 minutes into the match, Ivan went to try and hit a fallaway slam through a table but Oscar managed to reverse it and then hit a piledriver through the timekeepers table.  HOLY SH!T chants rang out.  Ivan would battle back hitting a jumping side kick and went for a pin but Oscar kicked out at 2.   Oscar locked in a full nelson and then dropped forward smashing Ivan’s face into the mat.  Oscar went for a quick pin but Ivan powered out.   Oscar nullified a swinging side slam but got caught in the Accolade Clutch but he managed to make it to the ropes to break the hold.  A few more minutes passed and Oscar hit a swinging neckbreaker and went for the quick pin but once again, Ivan powered out at 1.    Oscar followed it up with a second swinging neckbreaker and pin but still only got the 1 count.  Ivan hits a low blow and then goes to the top turnbuckle. He dives off trying to hit a flying headbutt but Oscar moves and Ivan crashes to the mat.  Oscar goes outside the ring and grabs a chair and lays it in the ring.  He then picks Ivan up and hits a 3rd swinging neckbreaker on to the chair.  He makes the cover again and this time, he gets the 3 count.  The fans pop as Oscar has his arm raised in victory.  The show comes to an end with Oscar celebrating with the fans.


The Elimination Chamber qualifiers begin next week so stay tuned.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2020 #820– Welcome to 2020 (Year 15) (01/02) – Year in Review


Hello fans and welcome back to the HCW Wrestling newsletter.  Today, we will run a quick recap to bring you up to speed with the happenings within HCW.


·       It was announced that after contract negotiations had fallen through, the show (Heat) taking place in Phoenix will be no more. 

·       GM Max McGillicutty says that due to hectic schedules, they will be reducing the number of weekly shows down to one. 

·       PPV’s, if a multi-day event, will still have recaps submitted for them. 

·       GM Master Bull will make the move to Tacoma and he and Max will co-manage the Thunder show which is now moved to Wednesday evenings.

Wicked Prophet was questioned about handcuffing Wildfire outside the ring costing him the match and he stated:  “I questioned why I had to wrestle someone again after thoroughly defeating him before.  This was my proclamation that I am done with Wildfire and ready to move on to better opponents.  No one in HCW is at my level so give me the best you’ve got.”

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #819 – Zero Hour PPV Day 3 (12/15)


Hello fans and welcome back to the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.  Today is Day 3 and the final day of our PPV Zero Hour.  The last two days have totally off the hook.  A recap of yesterday’s show reveals:


·       The team of Maximillian Redbeard, Superquake Ferguson and Killa Pops defeated Wilber Townsend, Anthony Boom and Leon Teremoto to become the new 6 Man Tag Team Champions.  Leon and Anthony end up turning on Wilber to become fan favorites again.

·       Outback Oscar defeated the returning Madman Mason to retain the Hardcore title however Mason took his frustrations out on Oscar after the match and put the champ into the hospital for an unknown period of time.

·       In a grudge match against the 5th Column, Davis Hoffmeister, El Chango and Leon Teremoto were victorious after El Chango scored the win for the team.  The fans popped huge as a version of the Desperados were reformed for one night.

·       Apollo Gyze defeated Jack Lawson to retain the US title however he was surprised by a returning ‘Ragin Cajun’ Rad Gumbo.  Gumbo drank beer with the fans.

·       Ladies Champion Sassy Maxine DeVito defeated Catalina Harper by “submission” however it appeared the fix was in with the referee.  Management will be reviewing the tape and take the appropriate action.


On the card today, we finish our PPV with the following matches:

Pyro goes off and the fans pop huge.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out accompanied by GM Master Bull.  The two go on to talk about the show today and state that everyone will be getting well deserved rest and relaxation with plenty of time to heal from nagging injuries.  Bull says that even though their home in Phoenix is gone, the shows will continue; just up in the PNW.  Max says HCW will be on tour throughout 2020 but more importantly, we are going down to one show a week with a “Saturday Night’s Main Event” style show taking place once a month.  The fans seemed to be fine with the announcement.  Bull and Max then leave to let the show get started. 


The show begins with a video playing on the Omegatron: We open in an operating room. Several Doctors and nurses are working on a male patient.  The soap opera music can be heard. The camera floats up to an observation window and glides through. Inside. Handsome young Dr. R. Fang is watching the operation, a nurse is at his side. "I should be down there." He says with melodramatic words. The music changes to match. "But Doctor,” the nurse says, turning handsome young Dr. Fang to face her. "Your skills are needed elsewhere.”  Handsome young Dr. Fang adopts a heroic pose, “You are right nurse; so many people need my help." He then sweeps past her, heading for the exit. The nurse looks after his retreating form and whispers, "Vampire Lunges for everyone."


Well, it seems that Scooter J can’t stop taking pot shots at our resident vampire Dr. Red Fang.  The two cost each other their titles (Fang losing the Hardcore title and Scooter J losing the TV title) so there is much animosity between the two.


Pyro goes off once again and our show officially kicks off.  First, over the loudspeakers, we hear “Ah-ten-shun!  Get on your feet you maggots and celebrate a real hero”.  Col. Samuel Flagg walks out to massive booing from the crowd.  He flips them off not caring about who he offends.  He threatens to hit a few fans who were seriously mouthing off to him.  He kept walking and got into the ring.  Next, the music changes and out comes the new Anytime/Anywhere Champion Biceps Bannerman.  The crowd pops huge for Biceps.  He comes out and stands on the stage holding his title high.  As he begins to walk down to the ring, he is ambushed by some masked men wearing military fatigues.  The stomp and beat down on Bannerman.  Finally, they drag him to the ring and roll him in.  Flagg calls for the bell to ring.  He makes the cover and the ref counts 1..2…POWEROUT!  Biceps almost launched him out of the ring.  Bannerman gets to his feet and he’s pissed.  Flagg tries to run away but Bannerman catches him and begins to beat the living tar out of him.  Bannerman dominated for 5 minutes until Flagg, who appeared to load something into his boot, stomped Biceps in the head disorienting him.  He went for the quick pin but Biceps powered out. Flagg would get in a few shots but Bannerman fought back with a huge powerslam and even a Biceps Crunch but Flagg wouldn’t tap out.   Flagg tried to throw Biceps out of the ring but it was neutralized.  The ref missed Flagg hitting Biceps with a low blow but then Flagg tapped his boot on the mat and then kicked Bannerman in the head again.  He went for the pin and got the 3 count.  Col. Flagg won the match and just became the Anytime/Anywhere champion.  Flagg takes the belt and holds it high.  He sees Bannerman starting to stir so he takes his belt and runs to the back.  An enraged Bannerman, with a little blood trickling down his forehead, follows.  (15 min)


Drew the Canadian Love Machine is backstage with the King of Cones Magnum Kone.  Drew says that the cat may already be out of the bag but for those not in the know, this guy will be their partner in the upcoming match against the Snake Pit.  In walks Anthony Boom.  Boom says that whatever spell Wilber had him under is gone and he’s his own man now.  Tonight, he helps right some wrongs and the Snake Pit will learn the hard way not to mess with them.


Our next match begins with the Snake Pit (Leiton, Tobias and Niven Snake) coming out to boos from the crowd.  They stand on the stage and do a fist bump before heading down to the ring.  They enter the ring and begin to verbally antagonize the fans.   The music changes and out comes the team of Anthony Boom, Magnum Kone and Drew the Canadian Love Machine.  They high five a few fans but are laser focused.  Leiton leans over the ropes motioning from them to get in the ring.  Drew and his team oblige and a slobber knocker ensues.  The ref finally regains control and then officially starts the match.  The two teams battle for a solid 9 minutes and are practically even.  A quick double team by Drew and Leon gave their team the advantage.  We join the match at the 13 minute mark.

Drew, Leon and Anthony get the win and the fans practically blow the roof off the place.  They stand united in the ring while the Snake Pit slither to the back.   They interact with the fans for a few moments before heading to the back on their own.


We head to the back where the Ambassador and Dr. Red Fang are stewing.  The Ambassador says “Scooter J, you think you’re a funny guy.  Well Mr. Comedian,  once Fang is done with you, you won’t be laughing anymore.”  The camera closes in on Fang and we hear him mumble “Vampire Lunges for you Scooter J.”


We are back at the ring for more action.  First, the TV Champion the Banker comes out with his manager Ruth Heartless.  Ruth was single handedly responsible for the demise of the Phoenix Heat brand (she allowed the contract on their location to expire).  They are booed as they head to the ring.  The Banker hands Ruth his briefcase and the TV title before speaking into the mic.  “Shut your faces and quit your whining.  You don’t speak to my manager that way.  Keep it up and it will be a Tax Audit for each and every one of you.  Hey, backstage, why don’t you send my opponent out so we can get this moving?”  There is a brief lull until a returning Matches Malone makes his way out.  Malone was last seen after his scaffold match against Texas Wildfire.  He was injured and apparently has been cleared for action.  He comes down to the ring and gets in.  The Banker begins to laugh almost doubling over.  Ruth leaves the ring and tells the ring attendant to start the match.   The Banker hits Matches with a Credit Check chop but Malone bounces the Banker’s head off the turnbuckle.  The Banker then hurls Malone out of the ring.  Ruth sneaks up behind Malone and clobbers him with the briefcase denting it.  She rushes back to her side of the ring to avoid being seen by the ref.  The ref begins to count.  1…2…3…4…5…6…7…8…9…10.  The ref counts Malone down and out and awards the match to the Banker via countout in only 2 minutes.  The Banker gets on the mic and says that if Malone is any representation of the rest of the roster, then he will be World Champion again in no time.  He says that he was ready for a match and was disappointed by this one.  He says he’s open to anyone coming out.  Music hits almost immediately and out comes Drew the Canadian Love Machine.  The Banker is speechless.  Drew rushes down to the ring and climbs in saying he’ll take the Banker on.  


Drew hits the La Casita and tries to follow it up with an arm drag takedown but the Banker nullifies it.  As the Banker distracts the ref, Ruth hits Drew in the ribs with the briefcase.  The Banker hits a Repossession Rib Buster and goes for the pin but Drew kicks out.  Drew hits an armdrag takedown but the Banker holds on to Drew’s arm and locks in the ATM Fee Armbar.  Drew is trapped in the middle of the ring and the Banker starts to cinch back adding more pressure to Drew’s midsection where he got hit by the briefcase.  Drew tries to make it to the ropes but he is too far away and ends up tapping out.  The Banker gets the win and holds his title in front of Drew’s face.  Drew gets to his feet and grabs the Banker by the throat.  Ruth sneaks in from behind and tries to hit Drew again but the Canadian Love Machine turns just as Ruth is swinging the briefcase and she hits the Banker by mistake.  Ruth drops the briefcase as Drew chases her out of the ring.  The Banker also rolled out of the ring.  Drew grabs the briefcase and opens it up revealing lots of cash.  Drew starts to grab wads of cash and throws it to the fans.  Ruth rushes back in and grabs the case from Drew and hightails it to the back with dollars floating out of the open case.  Drew celebrates with the fans before heading to the back.  (4 min for the match; 5 for the aftermath)


We cut to Scooter J and TNT backstage and they are re-watching the “Dr. R Fang videos”.  Scooter J tells TNT that he’s going to bury that vampire and they won’t have to have his demented presence plaguing them anymore.  After he’s done with Fang, he will turn his attention back to some title.  He puts every champion on notice that no one’s belt is safe.  TNT then adds “Not even the Ladies title” and laughs.  Scooter J looks at him quizzically.  “I think I’ll pass on that one”.  They then walk off.


We head back to the ring for the next match.  The loudspeakers blares with “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYBODY” and out comes the evil diabolical Dr. Red Fang.  Fang is accompanied to the ring by his manager the Ambassador. The duo are booed as they head down to the ring.  Once in the ring, the music changes and out comes Scooter J and TNT.  They too are equally booed by the crowd but SJ saunters down to the ring.  TNT walks over and begins to have words with the Ambassador.  The ref sends both TNT and the Ambassador to the back to avoid any interference even though this is a no –DQ match.  The ref says that the rules for this one are ECW Rules.  The bell rings and this one begins outside the ring.  Scooter J beings by eye raking Fang but Fang bounces SJ’s head on the ringside barrier.  Fang follows it up with a Skull Crusher and then rolls Scooter J back into the ring.  Scooter J catches Fang with a Superkick and a quick pin but Fang kicks out at 1.   Scooter J tries for a belly to belly suplex but Fang reverses it and applies a spider web lock.  He goes for a pin but only gets a 2 count.   Scooter J drops Fang with a clothesline.   Scooter J hits a belly to belly suplex but Fang hits him with a Vampire Lunge.  Fang goes for the pin but SJ kicks out at 2.  Fang can’t believe it.  Scooter J nails the 10 punches and goes for the pin but Fang kicks out.  SJ can’t believe it.  Fang nails an airplane spin and SJ is woozy on his feet.  Fang hits the Skull Crusher again and rolls up Scooter J with a handful of tights and his feet on the ropes to get the 1-2-3.  Dr. Red Fang gets the win and the fans boo.  Scooter J exits the ring and grabs a steel chair and re-enters the ring blasting Fang in the head with it.  Fang is unfazed.  Scooter J hits him a second time and Fang shakes it off.  Scooter J kicks Fang in the gut, drops the chair and then nails a DDT on the chair.  Fang is out.  Scooter J stands up laughing.  He climbs the turnbuckle showing off but a collective “OHHH” from the crowd makes SJ turn around.  He sees Fang get to his feet, sees the chair and then looks at Scooter J.  SJ visibly gulps and then exits the ring with Fang in high pursuit.  (9 min for the match; 3 for the aftermath)


Backstage, Texas Wildfire is with Larry Morton.  TW tells Morton and the fans that he did something that he’d never done before.  He underestimated his opponent.  Now, this time, he is ready.  The World Title has been misrepresented ever since The Wicked Prophet became the champion but tonight, he rights a wrong.  Tonight, he takes the World title and brings honor back to the belt.  He then walks off.


Also backstage is World Champion The Wicked Prophet and he is with Clarkus Kentus.  Prophet addresses the fans and says that Wildfire is delusional.  Ever since Wildfire lost the title, he’s been moping around crying into his soup.  Tonight will be no different.  Tonight, he solidifies himself as one of the greatest Champions ever by defeating Wildfire for the 3rd time.  Tonight, the “real” champion walks out.  Prophet walks off.


We are treated to one final video.  It cuts to an offsite venue…it looks like an Applebees.  The cameraman enters and we see, sitting at the bar, someone we haven’t seen in HCW in quite some time.  It’s Phat Sol!  Phat appears to be depressed and is drowning his sorrows with drink.  Apparently, he has a crush on the Goth hostess but she continues to ignore his advances.  He stumbles outside and in his drunken stupor, he passes out in the dumpster behind the Applebees.  He awakens moments later, comes to his senses and heads to the gym right around the corner.  He walks in and says “I’m ready for training.”  He walks over to where others are getting ready for a workout.  The cameraman leaves.  I wonder if this means Phat is making a comeback in 2020…I guess we’ll see what happens next year.


It is time for our main event.  First, Texas Wildfire comes out to a HUGE pop from the crowd.  He comes out and high fives the fans and makes his way to the ring.  He gets in and climbs the turnbuckle to an even louder pop.  He steps down and stands in the center of the ring waiting for his opponent.  The music changes and out comes the World Champion the Wicked Prophet.  He is booed and fans begin a “Wicket” chant at him.  He ignores them all and walks down to the ring exuding confidence.  He climbs in the ring and walks past Wildfire.  He climbs each of the four corner turnbuckles in turn holding his hands high with the title strapped across his waist.  He finally climbs down for the last time and stands face to face with Wildfire in the center of the ring.  He hands the title to the ref and the bell rings to start this one off.

Prophet then pulls out a pair of handcuffs and cuffs TW to the ringside barrier.  He climbs back into the ring and smiles.

The Wicked Prophet wins with a EXILE FROM THE RING - Count Out over Texas Wildfire!!!


The Wicked Prophet steals a win via count out and retains the title.  He exits the ring holding his title high.  He makes his way to the stage and stands tall holding the title high as the show comes to an end but he is greeted by Killa Pops.  The two stand and stare at each other as the cameras stop rolling.
