HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2024 #1016 – 6/29/2024 – Go Home Show

Hello fans and welcome to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.  Tonight’s show is what we call the “Go Home” show which is the final show that the talent has to bring attention to our next PPV…in this case, it’s Meltdown that is taking place on July 4th.   Since there is a lot to cover, let’s get right to the show.

The HCW ring is adorned with a black carpet and a table in the center, covered in contracts. The crowd buzzes with anticipation as Mr. X, the Wicked Prophet and the World Champion, the Banker, all step into the ring.  Moments later, Jack Lumber's music hits, and the crowd erupts in cheers. Jack makes his way to the ring, pausing to high-five fans and showing his trademark smile.

GM Max McGillicutty: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the contract signing for the upcoming Fatal Four-Way match for the HCW World Championship! Introducing first, the HCW World Champion, the Banker!

Boos fill the arena as the Banker smugly raises his championship belt, draped in an expensive suit.

GM Max McGillicutty: And his challengers, the Wicked Prophet, Mr. X, and the man of the people, Jack Lumber!

Jack Lumber enters the ring, shaking hands with the HCW official overseeing the contract signing. He stands tall, facing his adversaries with unflinching determination.

Banker: (smirking) Jack, it's almost admirable how you keep coming back for more. But let's face it, in a Fatal Four-Way, you're outnumbered and outclassed. Just sign the contract and accept your fate.

Jack Lumber: (grinning) Banker, I've faced tougher odds than this and come out on top. I’m here to give the fans what they want: a real fight!

The crowd roars in approval as Jack takes the pen, ready to sign the contract. The tension in the ring is palpable.

Wicked Prophet: (leaning in) You think you can handle all of us, Jack? You're delusional. This contract is just a formality. Your defeat is inevitable.  Prophet signs the contract.

Mr. X: (coldly) Once you sign that paper, you're stepping into a world of pain, Lumber. We’ll make sure you regret this.  Mr. X signs the contract.

Jack pauses, looking each of his opponents in the eye before signing the contract with a flourish. He slides the contract towards the Banker, who hesitates before signing as well.

Banker: (signing the contract) You just made the biggest mistake of your life, Jack. Enjoy your moment in the spotlight because it’s all downhill from here.

As soon as the Banker finishes signing, Wicked Prophet and Mr. X suddenly attack Jack Lumber. The crowd erupts in boos and shock as the two heels pummel Jack, but Jack fights back valiantly, landing punches and kicks. The Banker steps back, watching with a sinister grin.

Banker: (shouting over the chaos) This is just a preview of what's to come, Jack!

Jack manages to fend off Mr. X, sending him reeling with a powerful clothesline, but the Wicked Prophet grabs him from behind. Just as things look dire for Jack, he breaks free and delivers a devastating uppercut to the Wicked Prophet. The crowd is on their feet, cheering for Jack's resilience.

Suddenly, the Banker joins the fray, blindsiding Jack with a brutal championship belt shot to the head. Jack staggers but doesn't fall, standing his ground defiantly. The heels regroup, circling Jack.

Max McGillicutty: (yelling) Security! Get in there!

Security rushes to the ring, pulling the Banker, Wicked Prophet, and Mr. X away from Jack Lumber. The crowd chants Jack’s name as he stands tall, blood trickling from a cut on his forehead, but his spirit unbroken.

Jack Lumber: (breathing heavily, pointing at the Banker) This isn’t over, ANY OF YOU. At the Fatal Four-Way, I’m taking that title and there’s nothing any of you can do to stop me!

The segment ends with Jack Lumber raising his fists to the cheering crowd, while the Banker and the others retreat, plotting their next move. The tension is set for an explosive Fatal Four-Way showdown at the upcoming event.

Max reminds us that in order for the Banker to lose the title, he must be pinned or submit.  He will not lose the title otherwise.  But in a precursor to that, all four men will be wrestling tonight in a mixed tag team match which is sure to be explosive.

The HCW ring is still buzzing with the aftermath of the intense confrontation between Jack Lumber and his adversaries. GM Max McGillicutty stands tall in the center, microphone in hand, ready to announce the next monumental event.

GM Max McGillicutty: Ladies and gentlemen of HCW! What you just witnessed was pure intensity, but now, let's move on to our next big showdown! Coming up next is the contract signing between our reigning Ladies Champion, Luciana Albano, and her challenger, the powerhouse face, Korbi Kong!

The crowd erupts with excitement as Luciana Albano's entrance music fills the arena. She steps out, flanked by her manager Pierre Boulay, exuding confidence and arrogance. The fans greet her with a mix of boos and disdain.

GM Max McGillicutty: And now, making her way to the ring, accompanied by her manager Pierre Boulay, the current HCW Ladies Champion, Luciana Albano!

Luciana flashes a smirk towards the audience, holding her championship belt high above her head. Pierre Boulay whispers something in her ear, and she nods, acknowledging his support.

GM Max McGillicutty: And her opponent, a fan favorite and an unstoppable force in the ring, Korbi Kong!

The arena shakes with cheers and applause as Korbi Kong's music hits. She enters with a confident stride, wearing her trademark smile and engaging with the fans along the way. The crowd chants her name, showing their overwhelming support.  Korbi makes her way to the ring, ready to seize her opportunity at the championship gold!

Korbi steps into the ring, standing tall opposite Luciana Albano. The tension between them is palpable as they both take their places at the contract signing table. GM Max McGillicutty stands between them, ensuring things remain civil.

GM Max McGillicutty: Luciana, Korbi, this is a monumental moment for HCW. Luciana, as the champion, you've held the title with tenacity and cunning. Korbi, you've earned this opportunity with your incredible skill and the heart of a true champion.

Luciana smirks confidently, while Korbi nods, focusing intently on the contract before her.

GM Max McGillicutty: Let's make this official. Luciana, please sign first.

Luciana picks up the pen, signing the contract with a flourish. She slides it across the table towards Korbi, who picks it up without hesitation.

GM Max McGillicutty: And now, Korbi Kong, your turn.

Korbi signs the contract decisively, her eyes never leaving Luciana's. The crowd erupts once again, sensing the impending clash for the championship.

GM Max McGillicutty: It's official, folks! Luciana Albano defending her title against Korbi Kong at our next HCW event Meltdown and as a reminder, it will take place, like all the matches, inside a Hell in a Cell! But before we go, any final words?

Luciana raises the microphone to her lips, ready to deliver a biting remark, but Korbi interrupts.

Korbi Kong: Luciana, you've had your time with that belt, but now it's time for a change. I've heard the fans loud and clear—they're ready for a champion who fights with honor and respect. At Meltdown, I'm bringing everything I've got, and I'm taking that title from you!

The crowd roars with approval, rallying behind Korbi Kong's words of determination and sportsmanship. Luciana's expression darkens slightly, clearly taken aback by the overwhelming support for her challenger.

Luciana Albano: (with a sneer) You think you can take this title from me, Korbi? Dream on. I'm not just a champion; I'm the standard bearer of excellence in HCW. You may have the fans on your side now, but in the ring, it's just you and me. And when it's all said and done, I'll still be standing tall with my title!

The tension in the ring is palpable as the segment concludes. Korbi stares down Luciana with unwavering resolve, while Luciana and Pierre Boulay retreat, plotting their strategy for the upcoming battle. The stage is set for an electrifying showdown between two formidable competitors, with the HCW Ladies Championship on the line.

Max leaves the ring, thanking the fans for their support and invites those not able to attend Meltdown in person, to enjoy it in the comfort of their homes on PPV.  The ring is cleaned up and we are ready for our first match.

Match #1:  Col. Flagg vs Duke Knight.

In a high-energy clash, Duke Knight faced off against the devious Col. Flagg. Right from the bell, Duke dominated with a series of powerful running clotheslines, scoring consistently and keeping Flagg on the defensive. Despite a few moments of reprisal from Flagg, including a patriotic inverted slam that nearly secured a pin, Duke's resilience shone through. Duke's relentless offense, featuring chops to the chest and dropkicks, gradually wore down Flagg's defenses. A thrilling moment came when Duke executed a flawless Shooting Star Press, almost clinching the victory except Flagg somehow got his foot on the bottom rope. However, it was a final running clothesline that sealed the deal, allowing Duke to pin Flagg for the three-count.

As Duke celebrated his hard-fought victory, Tommy "the Morningstar" Sullivan ambushed him, leading to a brawl that spilled up the ramp and into the backstage area. Meanwhile, Zack "the Commando" Brown stormed the ring to confront Flagg, but the cunning heel turned the tables, sending Brown crashing through a table. The match ended with Duke's triumph marred by chaos and the Commando needing to be helped to the back leaving the fans eager for the next chapter in these intense rivalries.

Backstage, the Rich Athlete and his manager Ruth Heartless are preparing for their match coming up next.  The Rich Athlete questions why he is not main eventing the Meltdown PPV as only someone of his caliber should.  Ruth responds that this PPV is all about the violence that is beneath the Rich Athlete and he should not sully himself on a show that is on par with a normal house show.  (This elicited major disapproval from the fans).  The one she has her eye on is August’s Reign of Champions show and she plans on having Rich Athlete dominate that one.  He smiles and nods his head.  “The work of a true genius.”  They then head to the ring for their match.

Match #2:  The Rich Athlete vs Noah ‘High Flyer’ Murphy

Noah Murphy comes out first to a pop from the crowd.  His music is abruptly cut off and the Rich Athlete’s plays.  He comes out on stage in his elaborate robe and raises his hands high.  The fans boo the crap out of him.  Ruth has a microphone and tells the fans to shut their holes and show proper respect for the Rich Athlete.  This only incited the fans all the more.  The Rich Athlete shakes his head in disbelief and they head to the ring.  Ruth enters followed by RA.  He took off his robe and handed it to the ring attendant telling him he will tear his head off if anything happens to that robe.  The bell rings and this one begins.  Noah surprised the Rich Athlete by dominating the beginning of the match.  Noah got hurled out of the ring to break the momentum and RA conferred with Ruth.  Ruth sprays something in Noah’s eyes temporarily blinding him.  Rich Athlete nailed some chops  (WOOOO) and went for a choke but Noah nullified it.  Rich Athlete reverse a headlock and hit the Seven Figure Suplex and went for a pin but Noah kicked right out.  RA hit the Million Dollar Kneedrop and went for the pin again and got angry for the slow count from the ref who also got admonished by Ruth.  Ruth then really earned her paycheck getting involved with spraying something in Noah’s face, distracting him (when he could see again) with her beauty and then verbally antagonized him.  Rich Athlete decided he had enough and choked out Noah and then finally made the cover getting the 1-2-3.  The Rich Athlete gets the win in 21 minutes and the fans are livid.  They tried to call him out on cheating but he just mocked them and made his way to the back.

Backstage, we are with Mr. X and the Wicked Prophet for an interview.  Prophet says that tonight, they will be dealing Jack a 2/7 – the worst hand in poker.  After that, they will demolish him and make sure that he doesn’t make it to the PPV.  Mr. X chimes in and reminds Prophet that tonight, they have an uneasy alliance to take out Jack Lumber and weaken the World Champion the Banker but Mr. X says “Make no mistake, I am walking out of the PPV as the World Champion” and then walks off.  The Wicked Prophet mutters “I guess we’ll see about that.”

Match #3:  Korbi Kong vs Leslie Grimes.

Leslie Grimes makes her way out first to a decent reaction from the crowd however when “KORBI KONG SMASH” resonated from the speakers, the fans went ape-shit.  Korbi took a moment to soak in the cheering from the fans and then made her way to the ring.  She climbed in and got up on the 2nd turnbuckle and held her arms high and the fans popped even louder.  She stepped down and was ready to begin the match until the Ladies Champion Luciana Albano came out and while glaring at Korbi, she went to sit at commentary.  Korbi and Leslie shook hands and the match began.

===== In the 1st minute of the match: =====

Leslie Grimes (f) was pinned by Korbi Kong (f)!!!

Korbi Kong (f) wins with a SCOOP POWERSLAM over Leslie Grimes (f)!!!

Korbi gets the win as we go into the PPV.  Leslie questions Korbi if she had Luciana interfere on her behalf and Korbi tells her she had nothing to do with it.  Luciana gets on the ring apron and begins mocking them both.  Korbi and Leslie look at each other and simultaneously hit Luciana with a dropkick sending her sprawling from the ring apron.  The champion grabbed her belt and, muttering under her breath, made her way to the back.  Korbi and Leslie shook hands and left the ring.

Backstage, the World Champion the Banker and Jack Lumber are being interviewed.  Jack says that Mr. X has become as big of a thorn in his side as Wicked Prophet is.  Jack says that at Meltdown, the removes that thorn and luck willing, wins the World Title.  The Banker interrupts him reminding him that HE (the Bnaker) has to be pinned or submitted in order to lose the title.  He has no plans on that happening.  The Banker doesn’t think much of Prophet or Mr. X and that is the ONLY reason he’s aligning himself with Jack tonight.  At the PPV, it is every man for themselves and he will leave the PPV as champion.  The Bankers walks off and Jack eventually follows.

Match #4:  Luna Shadow vs Chloe Parker in a specialty match

Chloe Parker came out first to massive boos from the fans.  She didn’t seem to care and even stopped and jaw jacked with a few on her way to the ring.  She got into the squared circle and continued to rile up the fans.  The music changed and out comes Luna Shadow.  Luna gets a solid pop and rushes down to the ring.  Chloe bailed out and refused to get back into the ring until Luna would back up.  Luna had enough and jumped out of the ring and chased Chloe around the ring.  Both women finally ended up in the ring and the ref announced that this would be a no-holds-bared Soda City (since we are in Columbia) Street Fight.

In a highly anticipated Soda City Street Fight, Luna Shadow faced off against Chloe Parker, seeking vengeance for her injured hand. The match began with Chloe quickly reversing Luna's Celestial Elbow Drop and executing a Double Underhook Suplex.  Despite the setback, Luna fought back neutralizing Chloe's DDT.

Luna continued to gain momentum with a powerful Twilight Powerbomb, turning the tide in her favor. The match seesawed back and forth, with Luna neutralizing another of Chloe's Piledrivers and Chloe executing a Demonic Driver right after.  Luna's spectacular Midnight Moonsault catapulted her momentum, but Chloe kept pace with her own Double Underhook Suplex.

As the minutes ticked by, the intensity escalated. Luna's Eclipse Dropkick and Chloe's Triple Vertical Suplex highlighted their skills. Luna dramatically cracked a ketchup bottle over Chloe's head in the eighth minute, drawing blood and nearly securing a pinfall. However, Chloe resiliently kicked out.

The match continued with both wrestlers exchanging brutal moves, including Luna's Starafall DDTs and Chloe's relentless Running Cutters. Near the end, Luna trapped Chloe in the Abyssal Lock multiple times, testing Chloe's endurance. Finally, in the 29th minute, Luna executed another Abyssal Lock, forcing Chloe to submit and securing a hard-fought victory.

Luna Shadow gets the win and the ref holds her hand high.  Chloe is not done though and grabs a kendo stick from under the ring and begins smacking Luna with it, raising welts on her arms and legs.  Luna wrestled the kendo stick away from Chloe and again, locked her in the Abyssal Lock and Chloe was slapping the mat hard (tapping out) but the match was already over.  3 refs ended up having to pry Luna off of Chloe.  The fans pop as Luna got a well-deserved win and a measure of revenge.  We, however, are not sure this is over yet.

Match #5:  The Main Event:  Jack Lumber & the Banker vs Mr. X and the Wicked Prophet

In the Main Event of the evening, tensions reached a boiling point as World Champion The Banker reluctantly teamed up with fan-favorite Jack Lumber against the devious Mr. X and the sinister Wicked Prophet. With the upcoming Fatal Four Way match at the Meltdown PPV, all four men knew this was their last chance to gain momentum, and none of them held back. From the outset, the ring was ablaze with action as Jack Lumber and Mr. X exchanged powerful moves, each determined to prove their dominance. Jack Lumber showcased his incredible strength with a Yukon Bodyslam, while Mr. X retaliated with his technical prowess, executing a slick Hip Roll.

As the match unfolded, alliances were tested. The Banker and Jack Lumber managed to temporarily put aside their differences, delivering punishing double-team maneuvers like the Late Charge Con-Chair-To and the Tax Audit Turnbuckle Thrust. The crowd erupted, torn between cheering for the unlikely team and booing the opportunistic heels. The Wicked Prophet and Mr. X, however, were relentless, using underhanded tactics and double-team assaults to keep the pressure on their opponents. With moves like Baptism of Fire and Sugar Cane Sleeper, they showed no mercy, leaving Jack Lumber reeling.

Midway through the match, the action intensified. Jack Lumber, battling fatigue and the cunning of his adversaries, executed a stunning Timberrrrr that brought the audience to their feet, nearly securing a pinfall. Yet, the cohesive unit of Mr. X and the Wicked Prophet proved formidable, countering with high-impact moves that left the fans on the edge of their seats. As Jack Lumber tagged in The Banker, the champion launched a furious offensive, hitting a Repossession Rib-Buster that showcased his tenacity and skill.

In the final minutes, chaos erupted. Jack Lumber and Mr. X turned their focus onto each other, igniting a fierce personal rivalry that overshadowed their team efforts. This allowed the Wicked Prophet to strike, capitalizing on the disarray with a brutal Unrighteous Dominion on The Banker. The crowd was electrified as the Prophet pinned the champion, securing a dramatic victory. The fallout from this match not only set the stage for the upcoming PPV but promised an explosive and unpredictable Fatal Four Way showdown.

The Wicked Prophet stood tall and the fans eventually returned to booing him.  He stood there, arms outstretched, soaking it all in and promising THIS would be the outcome in 5 days.

The PPV is up next so stay tuned.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2024 #1015 – 6/26/2024

Hello wrestling fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.  We have some great action on the card tonight with The Morningstar Tommy Sullivan, Ladies Champion Luciana Albano, Jack Lumber, Steel Justice and a main event with the Six Man Tag Team Championship on the line.  All this and more so let’s get right into the action.

Match #1:  Trinity Bowman vs. Chloe Parker

Chloe Parker comes out first to heavy booing from the crowd for her cowardly attack on Luna Shadow.  She mocks the fans as she makes her way to the ring.  Her opponent, Trinity Bowman comes out next and the fans pop for her.  She rushes down to the ring and slides under the bottom rope only to get stomped on by Chloe.

Chloe started strong, dominating with a Triple Vertical Suplex, but Trinity managed to fight back with a Front Face Lock. Chloe countered with a Somersault Ace Crusher, nearly pinning Trinity at one point. Trinity showcased her resilience, executing a Small Package Roll-Up and neutralizing Chloe's Piledriver. The match reached its climax when Luna Shadow returned and stood on the stage.  Chloe got distracted which allowed Trinity to apply her signature move, The Bow-Flex, forcing Chloe to submit. As Trinity celebrated her victory, Luna Shadow rushed down to the ring and went after Chloe but Chloe got out of there in the nick of time and took off through the crowd.

Match #2:  Steel Justice vs the 5th Column.

In a heated match, Steel Justice took on the 5th Column. Kellyn "The Raven Archer" Chrisari began with a strong strategy, but Baron Von Blood countered with a devastating Gas Chamber. Alex "Skyhawk" Justice entered the fray, delivering an Enchanted Dropkick and Heavenly Hammer DDT, but faced relentless double-teaming from Baron and Oswald Zimmerman. Despite this, Alex managed to fend off their attacks, executing a Wings of Justice Hurricanrana and Ariel Sweep. The climax came when Alex hit a Justice Dive to the outside.  Just then, the Dynamic Duo, Chris Thompson and Mike Matthews) came out.  Baron Von Blood and Oswald left the ring resulting in being counted out. Steel Justice gets the win and the fans pop huge for them.

Match #3:  Tommy Sullivan w/the Ambassador vs Biceps Bannerman

Biceps came out first to a huge pop from the crowd.  Tommy Sullivan w/the Ambassador came out next and the fans booed him.  He ignored them and made his way to the ring.  Sullivan entered the ring but surprisingly did not attack Biceps before the bell.

The match started intensely, with both wrestlers trading blows and submission holds. Sullivan’s loaded punches and Death Valley Drivers contrasted with Bannerman's powerful Biceps Crunch bearhugs. Despite Sullivan's initial dominance, Bannerman fought back with his Biceps Blast and Full Nelson Lift & Slam. Bannerman repeatedly tried to secure a submission with his bearhug, but Sullivan resiliently held on. The Ambassador's interference was reversed by Bannerman, who managed to throw Sullivan out of the ring. However, Sullivan turned the tables with another Death Valley Driver and a Corkscrew Elbow Drop. The climax came when Sullivan executed a Piledriver on the floor, resulting in Bannerman being counted out. Sullivan managed to get back into the ring just in time, securing his victory by count out.

Tommy stood victorious in the ring and looked on as Biceps tag team partner Duke Knight came out to check on him.  Just when it looked like Tommy was going to attack Duke, he actually turned and left leaving us all to wonder what the Morningstar has up his sleeve.

Match #4:  Jack Lumber vs Madman Mason.

Before heading to the ring, Jack Lumber made his customary stop at the Lumber Lounge, greeting his loyal fan club with high-fives and signing autographs, boosting his energy with their chants of "Timber!" The match began with Jack Lumber delivering a powerful Stiff Uppercut to Madman Mason, who absorbed the punishment but remained on his feet. Madman Mason retaliated with a brutal Boot Choke, but Jack bounced back with his signature move, the "Timmmmmbeeerrrr," knocking Mason off his feet. Both wrestlers exchanged fierce blows, with Mason landing a Spinebuster Slam, but Jack countered with an Atomic Drop and The Axe, attempting a pin that Mason barely escaped from.

As the match progressed, Jack Lumber dominated with a Kick to the Midsection and a Chop to the Chest. Despite Mason's attempts to defend, he couldn't withstand Jack's relentless offense. Jack finally secured the victory with a decisive pin after the Chop to the Chest, much to the delight of the fans.

The celebration was short-lived, however, as Jack was ambushed by the mysterious Mr. X. Jack valiantly defended himself, but the situation escalated when the Wicked Prophet joined the fray. Just as Jack seemed overwhelmed, the World Champion, the Banker, also entered the ring. The chaos drew the attention of security, who rushed to separate the brawling wrestlers, leaving the crowd in a frenzy and setting the stage for the Fatal Four Way at the Meltdown PPV.

GM Max McGillicutty comes out and announces that at the Go-home show this weekend, We will have a mixed tag match with these 4 individuals which will help set the stage for their eventual showdown.

Match #5: Luciana vs Lavender Gooms in a non-title match

In an intense non-title match, the Ladies Champion Luciana Albano, accompanied by her manager Pierre Boulay, faced off against the spirited Lavender Gooms. The match started fiercely with both competitors landing their signature moves, Albano's Full Nelson Slam and Gooms' Hurricanrana, setting the tone for a hard-hitting encounter. As the match progressed, Gooms managed to lock Albano in her devastating Lavender Lock, but the champion refused to submit, showcasing her resilience.

Throughout the match, Albano and Gooms exchanged powerful maneuvers, including Albano’s Sole Food and Gooms’ Press and Slam. Despite Gooms’ best efforts, Albano maintained control with strategic offense, including a Belly to Back Pendulum Facebuster. The turning point came when Albano, with some underhanded help from Boulay, executed a series of high-impact moves like the Riptide Pumphandle Bomb and Full Nelson Slam, pushing Gooms to her limits.

As the match reached its climax, Boulay's interference proved decisive. A well-timed slip of a foreign object and a distracting cheap shot allowed Albano to score crucial points. Despite Gooms’ valiant attempts to kick out of multiple pin attempts, Albano's relentless assault, culminating in a Bridging Northern Lights Suplex and another cheap shot, secured her victory.

After the match, Luciana Albano stood tall over Lavender Gooms, solidifying her dominance in the ring, thanks in part to her manager’s devious tactics.

The fans responded by booing the Champion as she left the ring.

Match #6:  The Main Event:  Six Man title match Dominic, JR, Alejandro vs Jesse California, Otto Ruthless, TNT

It’s now time for our main event.  First, Jesse California (filling in for the departed Talon McFrost), Otto Ruthless and TNT came out to a chorus of boos as they made their way to the ring.  Once there, they continued to goad the fans getting them to react.  When the music changed and the champs came out, the fans’ response changed cheering the faces as Dominic Marconi, JR Fargo and Alejandro Guerrero, the Six Man Tag Team Champions, came out.  They shook hands with the fans as they made their way to the ring.  They held their titles high before handing them to the ref.  The bell finally rings starting this one off.

From the opening bell, the champions demonstrated their synergy and technical prowess. Marconi started strong with a Front Face Lock on Jesse California, who retaliated with a Bodyscissors Sleeperhold, but Marconi refused to submit.

The match saw quick tags and high-impact moves, with Marconi executing a Figure-Four Armbar followed by a Famouser Leg Drop Bulldog from California. The intensity ramped up as TNT and Marconi exchanged a Head First Body Slam and a Flying Dropkick. Guerrero then tagged in and, with help from his teammates, delivered a devastating Missile Dropkick and Rear Chinlock, but Ruthless countered with a Back Body Drop.

Despite Ruthless' resilience, the champions continued their relentless assault. Guerrero shone with a Triple Rolling Vertical Suplex, while Fargo maintained the pressure with his Magnificent Body Slam. The double-teaming from Marconi, Guerrero, and Fargo proved too much for their opponents, culminating in a well-coordinated series of moves that left Otto Ruthless vulnerable.

In the final moments, Guerrero executed another Triple Rolling Vertical Suplex, securing the pinfall victory over Otto Ruthless. The champions celebrated their hard-fought win, showcasing their dominance and teamwork in this thrilling encounter.

The fans pop as the champions stand tall holding their titles high.  The show comes to an end with the winners celebrating with the fans at ringside.

The Go-Home show is up next so stay tuned.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2024 #1014 – 6/22/2024

Hello fans and welcome to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.  As we saw on yesterday’s show, Col. Flagg put a bounty on his former teammate the Commando Zack Brown by sending Kroman the Barbarian to try and take him out before their showdown at Meltdown’s Hell in a Cell.  Kroman goaded Brown just enough to get a match set up for tonight where the loser will be out of HCW.  I’m sure Flagg has something up his sleeve so hopefully Brown has eyes in the back of his head.

We cut to a backstage promo from Zack Brown.

Zack Brown: (clenching his fists) Kroman, the Barbarian, huh? You’re a mountain of muscle, a primal force. But tonight, you’re stepping into the ring with ‘the Commando.’ And let me tell you something, Kroman: I’ve faced worse than you—war zones, ambushes, and treacherous terrain. You’re just another obstacle in my path.

Col. Flagg, you snake in the grass! You put a bounty on my head? Well, guess what? I thrive under pressure. Your little mind games won’t break me. You want to take me out before our Hell in a Cell match at Meltdown? Fine. But know this: I’m not just fighting for myself; I’m fighting for every soldier, every patriot who’s ever stood up against tyranny.

Kroman, you swing that barbaric axe, but I’ve got something better—a code of honor. When I lock eyes with you, I see a reflection of every battle I’ve fought, every sacrifice I’ve made. You’re a beast, but I’m a warrior. And warriors don’t back down; they charge headfirst into the storm.

So, Kroman, brace yourself. Tonight, the Commando unleashes hellfire. And Col. Flagg, you can watch from your ivory tower, but remember this: freedom always prevails. The Meltdown PPV? It’ll be a reckoning. And when that cell door slams shut, I’ll show you what it means to fight for something greater than gold or glory.

(Zack adjusts his camouflage wristbands and steps toward the curtain, ready to face Kroman and whatever Col. Flagg throws his way.)

Match #4:  The Wicked Prophet vs Blake ‘Oak Tree’ Hill

Blake Hill comes out first to a nice pop from the crowd.  He’s barely in the ring when the music changed and out comes the Wicked Prophet.  Prophet made it a point to stop in front of the Lumber Lounge and berate the fans there which causes the booing to escalate.  Prophet shouted something at them and make his way to the ring.  Blake started off with a ferocity that Prophet wasn’t expecting.  Blake hit him with a ring rope clothesline and Prophet had to Exile him from the ring in order to catch his breath.  It didn’t last long as Blake was back in at the count of 2.  While Prophet was in the corner, Blake charged squashing him with an Avalanche.  Prophet though, managed to roll with the momentum and locked in the Crucifix Clutch in the middle of the ring.  Blake was totally caught off guard and had to tap out.  The Wicked Prophet gets the win in only 2 minutes.  Prophet has his arm raised as the victor.  He looked down at Blake, sneered, and then left.

We go backstage for a promo from the Hardcore Champion Jax Brenner.

Jax Brenner: (clenching his fists) Perfect Pecs Stoddard, you think you can ambush me and get away with it? You’re about to learn that the Alaskan Wildman doesn’t take kindly to cheap shots. Tonight, in that ring, I’ll make you regret every bruise you left on my body.

Molly Mason: (leaning in) Jax, remember our game plan. Stoddard’s arrogance is his weakness. He flexes those pecs like he’s a Greek god, but he’s just a mortal. Exploit it. Show him that the Alaskan wilderness breeds tougher men.

Jax Brenner: (grinning) Molly, you’re right. Stoddard, you’re not facing a mere wrestler; you’re facing a force of nature. I’ve wrestled grizzlies, survived blizzards, and outlasted avalanches. Your pretty muscles won’t save you.

Molly Mason: (handing Jax his Hardcore Championship) Jax, this title represents more than gold—it’s our legacy. Stoddard, you want it? Come and pry it from our frostbitten hands. But be warned: the Alaskan Wildman fights like a wolf defending its den.

Jax Brenner: (staring into the camera) Stoddard, tonight, the Northern Lights will shine upon our battleground. The crowd will chant my name, and you’ll taste the bitter cold of defeat. So, Perfect Pecs, prepare for a wild ride. The Alaskan Wildman is coming, and hell follows with him.

(They exit, leaving echoes of primal roars and icy determination.)

Match #5:  Commando vs Kroman. Loser leaves HCW.

Kroman the Barbarian came out first to massive booing from the crowd.  Once in the ring, the music changed but not to what we were expecting.  Col. Flagg came out and the booing intensified.  He flipped off the fans and made his way to commentary.  The ref immediately warned Flagg that if he got involved, there WILL be repercussions.  Zack Brown came out next to a loud pop from the local crowd.  He made his way to the ring glaring at Flagg as he entered through the ropes.  The ref announced that this had to be “anything goes” since a career is on the line.  Zack says fine but he wants the cage hanging over the ring to be lowered so that this could become a Full Metal Mayhem rules match.  The cage is lowered and Flagg is on the outside laughing.  The cage is secured to the posts and the ref calls for the bell to start the match.

Kroman the Barbarian is out of HCW.  Security are immediately in the ring to escort him out of the building.  Meanwhile, Brown is beating the living snot out of Col. Flagg on the outside of the ring.  He throws Flagg into the cage and then slides in a chair.  Flagg is quick to his feet and hits Brown with a low blow and then picks up the chair and then begins PUMMELING him with the chair.  Battered and bruised, Flagg handcuffs Brown to the cage wall.  He then grabs a kendo stick from under the ring and begins smacking Brown with it until there were welts and cuts all over the Commando.  The fans were on the verge of rioting.  Security had to get in there and get Flagg out before the fans stormed the ring and took out their anger on him.  The ref got Brown un-cuffed from the cage wall and he crumpled to the floor.  Medics rushed over as the cage was being lifted and Brown was put on the stretcher and taken to a waiting ambulance in the back.

Backstage, Perfect Pecs just states that he is walking out tonight as the new Hardcore Champion.

Match #6: The Main Event:  Hardcore title match:  Jax Brenner vs Perfect Pecs Stoddard

In a hard-hitting bout, Hardcore Champion Jax Brenner defended his title against the formidable heel, Perfect Pecs Stoddard. The match began with 'The Alaskan Wildman' Jax Brenner using his brute strength to execute a series of powerful moves, including a bodyslam that set the tone. Stoddard absorbed the punishment but quickly countered with a rope-hung running knee lift, showcasing his agility and technical prowess.

As the match progressed, Brenner's manager, Molly Mason, tried to console and motivate him from ringside, but Stoddard capitalized with a devastating Celtic Kick. Brenner, unfazed, responded with a towering suplex, but Stoddard maintained his momentum with a rolling fireman's carry slam. The seesaw battle continued with both wrestlers exchanging heavy blows and reversals, including Brenner's hurl over the top rope and Stoddard's powerful front powerslam.

In the seventh minute, Stoddard executed a front powerslam again, nearly pinning Brenner, but the champion kicked out just in time. Brenner then threw Stoddard over the top rope, gaining a brief respite as the referee counted. Stoddard returned to the ring only to execute a choke in the corner, tightening his grip on the match. Brenner fought back with another bodyslam, refusing to yield ground.

As the match entered the twelfth minute, Stoddard's tenacity was on full display with the Ten Beats of the Bodhran, punishing Brenner relentlessly. The champion, however, managed to counter with a knee lift and a forearm bludgeon, demonstrating his resilience. Molly Mason continued to encourage Brenner, helping him regain focus. Brenner executed his signature move, The Pickaxe, but Stoddard kicked out of the pin attempt, showing his toughness.

In the final minutes, the intensity reached its peak. Stoddard's Irish Curse Backbreaker nearly turned the tide, but Brenner's determination shone through as he countered with a powerful knee lift. The climax came when Brenner unleashed The Pickaxe once more, finally securing the pinfall victory. The Alaskan Wildman's strategic prowess and physical dominance were key to his hard-fought victory, retaining his title against a relentless opponent.

The Alaskan Wildman gets the win and Molly joins him in the ring holding his arm high in celebration.  The show comes to a close with the champ standing tall and the fans popping for him.  Pecs made his way to the back.  There is a lot still happening between now and the PPV so stay tuned.
