Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter. Our 3 day PPV Critical Mass is just around the corner and we couldn’t be more excited for the sold out event. The Hall of Fame and Fanfest are also sold out but we invite the world to watch the live streaming events on pay per view. Speaking of the Hall of Fame, we are told that later in the show, GM Max McGillicutty will be announcing the 4th and final member of the 2021 class. Without further ado, let’s get the show started.
Pyro
goes off and GM Max McGillicutty comes out.
He states that the show is leading up to our PPV and is expected to be
the biggest thing of 2021. He starts off
with changes he’s making to the Tag Team Tournament. He says that he is mixing things up and that
Wilber & TNT will now meet the Steel Curtian and DD Double D (Dash “Don’t
call me D-Woody” Woodbrick and Dennis ‘D-Marsh’ Marshall) get the Huber
Clan. We’ll also see Queen Goldie and
Violet Valkyrie team up to take on Lady Hermann and J9. Derek Deveraux gets his rematch against the
Banker to try for that illustrious shot at the TV title. Maxine DeVito faces off against her former ‘muscle’
Catalina Harper with the winner getting a shot at Korbi Kong’s Ladies Title. Max
leaves so the show can get underway.
Our
first match of the night is the first of our tag team semi-finals. First, the Hubers (Butch and Ferb) make their
way out first. The fans give them a
small pop as they know that they’ll be booing the next team coming out. They make their way to the ring before their
music is shut off and we hear “DD Double D” and out comes Dash Woodbrick and Dennis
Marshall. Half of the fans begin a “D-Marsh”
chant and he seems to like it. The other
half start a “Woody” chant (some fans holding up signs of Woody Woodpecker and
others of Sheriff Woody from Toy Story).
Dash does not appreciate it and threatens to hit a few of the fans. He does his best to ignore the chants and
makes his way into the ring. The match
begins with DD Double D taking the early advantage but a double team from the Hubers
quickly changed that. We now join the
match at the 14 minute mark.

the finals. Who would have thought? Dennis and Dash pose for the fans as the
hatred spews at them. Eventually, they
leave and the Hubers follow shortly thereafter.
Backstage,
Queen Goldie Locks and Violet Valkyrie are talking strategy for their match
tonight. They are interrupted by J9 and
Lady Hermann. Lady Hermann stands behind
J9 much like Adam Baldwin did for Chris Makepeace in “My Bodyguard” (no, not
the Whitney Houston one). J9 starts jaw
jacking and the four of them almost come to blows. Lady Hermann gets J9 out of there before
Violet can tear her head off.
We
head back to the ring for our next semi-finals match. The winners of this match go to the finals at
the PPV to crown new Tag Team Champions.
First, the lights dim and out comes Wilber Townsend and his brother
Templeton N Townsend, otherwise known as TNT.
The duo are booed as they make their way to the ring. Wilber is wearing his creepy Pennywise-like
mask. He looks mighty fiendish. The music then changes and the fans pop huge
as two-thirds of the Six Man Tag Team Champions – the Steel Curtain – Buzz and
Starbuck Steel – make their way out.
They interact with the fans as they make their way to the ring. Wilber leans over and cackles at them trying
for the early psychological advantage. As the Curtain enter the ring, Wilber and TNT
attack. They introduce both Buzz and
Starbuck to the steel post and that gave them the advantage for the first 12
minutes of the match. We now join at the
13 minute mark when the tide changed.

The
TV Champion the Banker is backstage with his manager Ruth Heartless. The Banker is still complaining about having
to give Derek Deveraux another shot but she tells him that there is no way she’ll
let him win even if it means going to drastic measures. The Banker likes this way of thinking and says
he’ll need a new opponent for the PPV as Derek has no chance in hell winning
tonight.
We
head to the ring for our next match.
Derek Deveraux makes his way out first.
He receives a nice pop from the crowd.
He stops and takes selfies with a few of the fans before making his way
into the ring. He enters the ring and
climbs the turnbuckle holding his arms high.
His music is abruptly cut off and we hear “Everyone has a price…for the
Banker” and out comes the TV Champion the Banker and his manager Ruth
Heartless. The duo are booed
heavily. Someone in the crowd threw a
drink at the Banker but he saw it coming and blocked it with his briefcase
showering the fans along the railing with some flavor of soda (maybe?). He and Ruth point and laugh at the fans
dripping with whatever that drink was. He
gets into the ring and immediately gets into the face of Derek before pie
facing him to the ground. Derek, just a
little miffed, tackles the Banker but he manages to roll out of the ring. Derek begins chasing him around the
ring. Ruth ducks and as Derek comes
running by, she hit him in the gut with the briefcase taking the wind out of
his sails. The ref sees it and
immediately ejects her from ringside.
Ruth and the Banker complained but the ref said he would disqualify the
Banker if Ruth didn’t leave immediately.
The Banker, pissed, attacks Derek to start the match. Without Ruth at his side, the Banker was
totally dominated. Derek beat the holy
hell out of the Banker. It was so
one-sided, it was unbelievable.

Derek
Deveraux gets the win and the fans pop huge for him. The Banker rolls out of the ring and falls to
the floor. Derek climbs the turnbuckle
again and pumps his fists into the air.
Just then, the Banker attacks him from behind smashing him with the
briefcase. The Banker then nails a
Deposit Diving DDT right on the briefcase putting a huge dent into it and
busting Derek open. The Banker gets to
his feet sneering at Derek and after giving him one good kick to the ribs, he
leaves. Derek won the match and gets a
shot at the TV title at the PPV but will he be ready?
Backstage,
Maxine DeVito storms into GM Max McGillicutty’s office demanding a shot at
Korbi Kong’s Ladies title. Max tells her
she is owed nothing and hasn’t done much since her return. She counters with “Well, who’s fault is
that? I come to work every day and you
don’t put me on the show. Now, I’m
taking matters into my own hands.” Just
then, Catalina Harper walks by and Max calls her in. “Did you ever get a rematch for the Ladies
title?” Max asks. Catalina says it’s been a while so she doesn’t
actually recall. Max says that Catalina
will get a shot. He says that the winner
between Maxine and Catalina will get a future shot at the Ladies title. Maxine is pissed and Max dismisses her. Both ladies leave.
Our
next match is supposed to be starting now but no one is coming out. Just then, Queen Goldie Locks comes out
brawling with Lady Hermann and J9 is battling Violet Valkyrie. The ref tries to get control of the match and
ends up calling it a no contest. There
are no winners or losers in this; just a lot of fists flying. J9 and Lady Hermann end up leaving the ring
first. Violet gets on the mic and says
that one person is standing in her way of a shot at the Ladies Title – J9. Violet says that she and J9 need to meet one
on one, no DQ/count out, anything goes with the winner getting a future title
shot. J9 agrees. Violet hands the mic to Queen Goldie who
challenges Lady Hermann to a match at the PPV.
Lady Hermann says she will only agree if Goldie acknowledges that there
is only room for one person of royalty in HCW. Queen Goldie agrees. Lady Hermann says that if Goldie wants a shot
at her, she needs to put her crown on the line.
She says she’ll agree but only if Lady Hermann puts her career on the
line. She agrees. Looks like we have a ‘Crown vs Career’ match
set up. Eventually all 4 ladies leave.
We
cut to the office of the GM. Max is
there and announces the final member of the Class of 2021…Scooter J. The camera pans and SJ is sitting there. Max says he assumes that SJ will want to be
inducted by his former tag team partner.
SJ says no. Max questions
“No”? SJ: No. I
want it to be someone totally off the chart; someone who no one would ever
expect. That is how I did things while
active; that is how I go out. I want the
person inducting me to be…(he leans over and whispers it to Max while holding
his hand up in front of the camera so we can’t read lips. Max asks if he’s sure and SJ says yes. Now we have to wonder…WHO DAMMIT? WHO?
It’s
time for our main event with the winner getting a shot at the Ladies Title. First, ‘Sassy’ Maxine DeVito makes her way
out to massive boos from the crowd. She
of course, flips them off and mocks them.
She makes her way to ringside and enters the ring. After a moment of jaw jacking with the fans,
the music changes and out comes the “cat lady” Catalina Harper. Catalina gets cheered as she makes her way to
the ring. She enters and is immediately
confronted by Maxine who has a mic in hand.
She tells Catalina that SHE brought her into HCW and SHE put Catalina on
the map and SHE is the reason anyone bothers to care about Catalina. Catalina takes the mic out of her hand and
tells Maxine that no one brought her in; she failed or succeeded on her
own. Maxine did not put her on the map,
she earned that herself. The reason that
anyone cares about her (Catalina) is because she cares about the fans. The fans pop huge and Maxine yells at them to
shup up (Shut Up Sheep is what she actually said). The match begins.
Maxine
went on the offensive early on and dominated the first few minutes of the match
but then Catalina started to battle back.
Maxine got worried and started to panic.
At the 7 minute mark, Maxine sent Catalina crashing into the steel post
and then rolled her up with a handful of tights. The ref didn’t see it and counted to 3. Maxine wins the match but her celebration is
cut short when Ladies Champion Korbi Kong came out and told the ref Maxine
cheated. She played back the footage and
the ref was ready to reverse the decision but GM Max McGillicutty came
out. He said that he is willing to have
Maxine and Catalina meet one more time at next week’s ‘Go Home’ show. Both ladies agreed. With that, the show comes to an end. Our ‘Go Home’ show is next followed by the
Hall of Fame and Fanfest.
Stay
Tuned. We’re almost there.
