HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2020 #874 - (12/13) – Go home show

  

Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.  Tonight is our “go home” show – the final show before the PPV in just 3 days.   In Maxine’s office, she says that Max McGillicutty is banned from the building and wants nothing more to exert maximum control over tonight’s show.  She tells us that there will be two contract signings taking place tonight – Ladies Champion Catalina Harper and her PPV opponent Korbi Kong and World Champion Jack Lumber taking on the King of HCW the Wicked Prophet.  She says she’ll moderate both contract signings to ensure Jack and Korbi are not causing problems.

After the pyro goes off, our first match gets underway.  First, Phat Sol comes out as a challenger for Bishop Ripley’s spot in the TV title line up.  He gets a nice pop as he makes his way to the ring.  Bishop Ripley makes his way out to booing from the fans.   The match starts off pretty quick and Phat Sol controls the pace of the match until the Banker made his way out with a briefcase.  He goes and stands at commentary watching the match.  The distraction was just enough to allow Bishop to hit Phat with the Chest Burst Smash and roll him up for the 1-2-3.  Bishop gets the win and is handed a contract to meet Texas Wildfire for the TV title.  Bishop leaves the ring and talks to the Banker.  He hands him the contract in exchange for the briefcase.   He opens it and sees it full of cash.  He smiles and walks away.  The Banker smiles pointing to his head that he outsmarted everyone and left.  Phat chatted with the fans but before he could leave, he is attacked by Dr. Red Fang.  Fang beats Phat down and then hurls him into the steel steps.  He stands over Phat cackling.  Refs come out and separate the two.  (13 min for the match; 5 for the aftermath)

 

The Masked Banana is backstage and he issues a challenge to Scooter J.  He says he wants a non-title match tonight and if he can beat him, he wants a shot at the PPV.

 

Next, Ivan Dragovich makes his way out to booing from the crowd.  He flips the fans off as he makes his way to the ring.  He continues to mock and jaw jack with the fans until the music changed and out comes Perfect Pecs Stoddard.  Stoddard gets a decent reaction as he makes his way to the ring.  He gets in only to be attacked by Ivan.  Pecs shrugs it off and hits the Ten Beats of the Bodhran.  He picks Ivan up and hits an Irish curse backbreaker.  Pecs takes Ivan back to the mat with a rolling fireman’s carry slam.  He hits another Irish curse backbreaker but Ivan shrugs it off and immediately locks in the Accolade Clutch.  Pecs struggles and just about makes it to the ropes but then Shawn ‘Abs of stone’ Austin comes out and immediately kicks his hand away.  Ivan dragged Pecs back to the center of the ring where Pecs ended up tapping out.  Ivan Dragovich gets the win and the fans are pretty vocal with their displeasure.  He leaves.  Austin enters the ring and begins to size Pecs up.  He runs over hitting a knee to the face that sends Pecs tumbling out of the ring.  Austin picks him up and hits a Fisherman’s suplex right on the exposed metal on the ramp.  Stoddard writhes in pain.  Austin stops him a couple of times before leaving.  Pecs ends up making it to the back on his own.  (4 min for the match; 5 for the aftermath)

 

The Anytime/Anywhere Champion Scooter J is backstage with his muscle TNT.  SJ says that he will grant the yellow freakazoid a chance at glory but we all know how it will end.  SJ and TNT walk off laughing.

 

Up next, we have some 6 man tag team action.  First, the Muscles Trio come out wearing their rainbow colored bull horns and eating from the boxes of Booty O’s cereal.  They interact with the fans and enter the ring.  They don’t have to wait too long before the Snake Pit – Leiton, Tobias and Niven Snake come out to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  They do their fist bump on the stage and head to the ring.  Just before entering the ring, the Snake Pit are attacked by the 5^th Column – Baron Von Blood, Oswald Zimmerman and Karl Braun.  The Pit end up chasing them off but the damage was done.  Once the match began, the Muscles owned it from the start.  Leiton got a near fall after hitting a Curb Stomp and Niven almost got one after hitting a spear but they could not keep the Trio down.  Tobias made the hot tag at the 13 minute mark but the Muscles tripled teamed him before Thorpe was able to put Tobias down with an overhead suplex.  The Muscles Trio get the win but they are chased out of the ring when the Column came back down with chairs.  They proceeded to beat the the Pit with the chairs and anyone who tried to get in the ring was immediately chased off.  Finally, once the damage had been completed and blood spilt, the Column left.  The Snake Pit had to be helped to the back.

 

We head to the backstage area where the King of HCW the Wicked Prophet is cutting a promo. 

 

Prophet:  I cannot believe Jack MO Lumber would stoop so low as to bring sharp weapons into a little playful altercation. I know he is scared, I am the King, and he should be scared. But he will never see what is coming. He will be traumatized and never know who to trust. What a punk bad guy, can’t believe he even has fans.

 

We head back to the ring for our next match.  J9 comes out first to massive booing from the crowd.  She makes directly for the ring and gets in.  She jaw jacks with the fans until the music changes, the stage fills up with fog and out like a bullet comes Violet Valkyrie to a huge pop from the crowd.  She high fives the fans as she makes her way down to the ring.  J9 paces impatiently in the ring waiting.  She points to her wrist tapping signifying time is ticking.  Violet enters the ring and J9 goes right on the offense.  J9 takes control early but Violet quickly evened things out.  At the 8 minute mark, J9 drops Violet with a back elbow smash.  Before she can do anything, Goldie Locks comes out standing on the stage.  J9 gets distracted and starts to yell at her.  Violet then reaches up and pulls J9 to the mat locking in a triangle choke.  J9 flounders for a bit but ends up tapping out.  Violet Valkyrie gets the win and the fans pop huge.  Goldie smiles and leaves.  Violet makes her way to the back.  J9 pouts and eventually leaves.  (8 min)

 

We head to the back for a promo from the flannel wearing World Champion Jack Lumber:

 

Lumber:  I thought the Wicked Prophet wasn’t the sharpest axe in the shed, but to think that I would go as low as actually cutting him in a scuffle, he’s got to be the dumbest member of the HCW. Has he forgotten that I already have a tree growing in his honor? After countless times trying to cheat his way out of a loss to me, I still prevailed and there’s a weeping willow growing healthy and strong to prove it (planted in honor of WP being a crybaby all the time). I’m not afraid and I know what I am capable of achieving. No matter what trickery or trauma may come, I will exit knowing I’m smarter and a more noble man. I welcome whatever result may come, be it a successful defense of my belt or a loss, knowing that I still have honor. Not sure that WP can say the same.

 

GM ‘Sassy’ Maxine DeVito makes her way out to booing from the crowd.  She gets in the ring and tells the crowd to shut up.  She introduces the challenger to the World Title the King of HCW the Wicked Prophet.  Prophet comes out to booing from the crowd.  He gets into the ring and sits down at the table.  He hands over his briefcase holding his Money in the Bank contract as he’s officially cashing it in.  The World Champion Jack Lumber comes out next to a huge pop from the crowd.  He makes his way down and enters the ring and sits opposite the King.  The two stare at each other as Maxine explains the rules of their match.  She puts the contract in front of Prophet who signs it first followed by Jack without hesitation.  Maxine then dismisses them saying that if either lays a hand on the other, their match will be off.  Jack and Prophet leave separately without any incident.

 

Maxine then announces the next contract signing.  This one is for the Ladies title.  First, Korbi Kong comes out to a huge pop from the crowd.  She makes her way to the ring and Maxine is just staring daggers at her.  Korbi ignores her.  Next, the Ladies Champion Catalina Harper comes out followed by her clowder of cats.   The cats surround the ring like they have minds of their own.  Korbi looks on with a slightly freaked out look on her face.  She immediately signs the contract.  Maxine then dismisses her sending her to the back.  Maxine then writes something in and then hands the contract for Catalina to sign.  Catalina does so with much delight.  Uh oh, what is Maxine scheming now?  Eventually, Maxine and Catalina leave.

 

It’s time for our main event.  Music breaks out and the crowd gets into “Hey Margarita” as the Masked Banana makes his way out.  The fans pop huge for him.  He stops by his fan club, the Banana Boat and shakes some hands as he makes his way to the ring.  His music is abruptly shut off as the Anytime/Anywhere Champion Scooter J comes out with his muscle TNT.  He makes his way down to the ring as the fans boo the crap out of him.  He climbs into the ring with TNT standing behind him.  The title is not on the line in this match so SJ hands his title to TNT who takes it outside the ring.  The bell rings and this one gets underway.

The Masked Banana gets the win and now will officially get his shot at the title at the PPV.  Scooter J and TNT attack the Masked Banana beating him down.  Scooter J stands over him holding his title high.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2020 #873 - (12/09)

Hello fans and welcome to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.  For tonight’s show, we come to you from the road up in Kirkland, WA. 

 

The show begins back in the office of the GM.  ‘Sassy’ Maxine DeVito says that she’s tired of everyone thinking they can do whatever they want.  She says that Violet needs to be taught a lesson so tonight, she is in a match against the dangerous Kimberly Kiccsass.  She adds that Hayley Hailstorm, Korbi Kong and Goldie Locks all need to be put in their place so tonight she gets back in the ring teaming with J9 and Ladies Champion Catalina Harper to take on the team of ingrates.   Also, she wants to see the Banker in action so he gets a non-title match against TV Champion Texas Wildfire.   The main event will see Hardcore Champion Biceps Bannerman take on the returning Dr. Red Fang.  If Fang loses, he is gone from HCW.

 

Pyro goes off and our first match is ready to get underway.   AC/DC’s “TNT” plays and out comes TNT.  He gets this perturbed look on his face when his music is shut off and some generic music is piped in (apparently we do not have the rights to use it).  He grumpily makes his way to the ring and enters.  The fans boo him.  They change their tune when Phat Sol comes out.  He gets a nice pop as he makes his way to the ring.  He enters the ring and TNT charges at him but Phat scoops him up and bodyslams him.  TNT comes back with two power uppercut.  TNT then executes a standing suplex.  TNT picks up Phat and starts to slap him across the face to wake him up and Phat nails him with the Phat Phat and goes for a pin but TNT kicks out.   Phat stuns him with a jaw jacker.  TNT then gets into the face of the ref and starts to shove him.  The ref, fed up with TNT’s antics, punches TNT in the face.  TNT is stunned and Phat rolls him up and the ref quickly counts 1-2-3.  Phat Sol gets the win.  TNT leaves rubbing his jaw and Phat celebrates before asking for the mic.  He says that he wants a shot at the TV title but he is interrupted by Bishop Ripley.  Ripley says he’s actually the #1 contender and that Phat will have to go through him if he wants the shot.  They agree to have a match at the ‘Go Home’ (Go home show refers to the last televised show before a pay per view event) show next week.

 

World Champion Jack Lumber and the King of HCW the Wicked Prophet have a backstage altercation which saw Prophet get cut.  They got separated but it was apparent that Prophet was mad about getting cut.  Medics come out and get everything cleaned up.  Someone in the shadows calls one of the medics over.  We don’t hear what’s going on.

 

We go back to the ring for our next match.  First, Maximillian Redbeard comes out to a nice pop from the crowd.  He makes his way to the ring and enters by stepping over the top rope.  His music is abruptly cut off when Madman Mason makes his way out.  The fans boo him and on his way to the ring, he almost hit a few fans.  Shortly after the match began, the US Champion the Ragin Cajun Rad Gumbo came out and went to sit at ringside throwing Mason off his game.  This gave Redbeard some good offense but Mason, crazy as he is, took the match back to Redbeard.  Mason kept showing off and taunting Gumbo.   Before we knew it, we were almost at the time limit.  Redbeard hit Mason with an Asgard Body Slam and tried for a pin but the time limit expired before the one count was even made.  This match ends in a draw finish.  Redbeard leaves and Mason continues to jaw jack with Gumbo and it wasn’t until Mason spit on Gumbo did he draw the ire of the Ragin Cajun.  Gumbo hits the ring and the two brawl.  The fight spills out of the ring and they fight all the way to the back.  (20 min for the match; 5 for the aftermath).

 

Backstage, the Banker approaches Texas Wildfire and says he wants a title shot.  Wildfire says the Banker isn’t in the top 10 and needs to gets some wins under his belt first.  The Banker then proposes a non-title match and if he can beat him tonight, he wants a shot.  Wildfire agrees.

 

Our next match is ready to go.  First, like a rocket, Violet Valkyrie rushes down to the ring and slides under the bottom rope almost making it to the far side of the ring due to her momentum.  She gets the fans to pop huge and keeps it going until ‘Sassy’ Maxine DeVito comes out.   Maxine gets on a mic and says Violet is washed up as she couldn’t win a simple battle royal.  Maxine says that as Violet tricked her, well tonight, she would normally get a beating from her but as she is in a 6 Women tag match later, she will get Kimberly Kiccsass.  Kimberly makes her way out and the fans boo her heavily.   Kimberly shakes hands with Maxine and makes her way to the ring.  As she heads to go sit at commentary, Maxine says that the winner of this match will meet Hayley Hailstorm at the PPV.  Maxine picks up the headset but then immediately grabs a chair and hits Violet in the ribs.  The bell rings and Kimberly hits Violet with the Christo and with a handful of tights, gets the 1-2-3. Kimberly gets the win.  (1 min) 

 

The fans boo as Maxine laughs pointing to her head that she outsmarted everyone again.  This brings out Max McGillicutty who once again says that Maxine is abusing her power.  Max says that the match needs to restart and he will be in Violet’s corner this time.  Having Max there to nullify Maxine made all the difference.  Kimberly tossed Violet into the corner and Violet came out hitting a jumping knee smash.  Violet followed it up with a running clothesline.   Kimberly gets to her feet only to drop after another running clothesline.  Violet then locks Kimberly up with a Triangle Choke.  Maxine tried to interfere but Max cut her off.  Kimberly, trapped in the middle of the ring and with no one to make a save, she taps out awarding the win to Violet.  She sulks to the back followed by Maxine who was going to get ready for her match.  Max leans over to whisper something to Violet who then thanks Max and they leave.  (4 min)

 

The Ambassador is backstage with Dr. Red Fang.  He says that tonight, Fang is putting his career on the line and Biceps best bring his A-game as a trapped animal is a dangerous one.

 

Also backstage, Wilber Townsend, Talon McFrost and Otto Ruthless, the 6 Man Tag Team Champions approach and threaten Hardcore Champion Biceps Bannerman.  They try to attack him but Biceps sends them all packing.

 

Next up is our non-title match against the TV Champion Texas Wildfire.  First, the Banker and his manager Ruth Heartless come out to booing from the crowd.  They flip the fans off and make their way to the ring.  The Banker gets on the mic and tells Wildfire that if he lays down, he can have a briefcase full of cash.  Many jobbers lived by the moniker “pin me, pay me” but someone the caliber of Wildfire should be treated with a little more respect (and cash).  Texas Wildfire comes out and heads right to the ring.  He tells the Banker he can’t be bought.  The match begins and the two are fairly even.  At the 8 minute mark, the Banker throws Wildfire out of the ring and Ruth sneaks over and smashes Wildfire in the head with the briefcase.  Stunned, he stumbles and falls over the ringside barrier falling into the fans.  They tried to help him up but the ref was on the Banker’s payroll and he made a fast count counting Wildfire out.  The Banker gets the win via count out decision.  The Banker says he has more planned and laughs before walking off.  (8 ½ min)

 

Backstage, J9, Catalina and Maxine are smiles.  J9 says that Goldie may have tricked her into the stipulation but she’ll be the one laughing last.  Maxine says that Hayley will have her hands full tonight and will get to deal with Violet Valkyrie in just over a week.  Catalina says that this is going to be Korbi’s last shot at the title.  She is tired of beating her and is ready for someone new.  She promises that she will be the one walking out of the PPV with her title intact.  The ladies head to the ring.

 

The bell sounds announcing the beginning of our next match.  First, the heels – J9, Maxine DeVito and the Ladies Champion Catalina Harper all make their way out to massive booing from the crowd.  Next, music hits and out comes Violet Valkyrie wearing a referee shirt.  Maxine started throwing a fit but it fell on deaf ears.  Finally, the faces – Goldie Locks, Hayley Hailstorm and Korbi Kong make their way out to a huge pop from the crowd.  They enter the ring and they get the crowd pumped up before Violet called for the bell to start the match.   The heels took a lot of liberties distracting Violet while the other teammates double teamed the faces.  Violet finally got fed up and slugged both Maxine and Catalina.  J9 took matters into her own hands and attacked Violet resulting in a disqualification.  Maxine grabs a chair and smashes Hayley and Violet with it.  J9 and Goldie fought all the way to the back.  Violet and Hayley recovered and chased Maxine from the ring.  This left Catalina and Korbi standing nose to nose in the center of the ring.  They both began throwing punches but neither let up.  A bunch of refs came out to break things up.  Korbi says she will see Catalina at the contract signing next week and she’d better be ready.  Catalina leaves staring daggers at Korbi.  Korbi eventually leaves also.  (16 ½ min for the match; 5 for the aftermath)

 

The Hardcore Champion Biceps Bannerman is walking to the ring.  He is stopped and asked what he thought about Dr. Red Fang’s agreement to leave HCW if he loses tonight, he’s gone.  Biceps says that HCW will be finally rid of the tyranny that Fang has brought to wrestling.  Tonight, it ends.  He walks to the ring.

 

It’s time for our main event.  First, the loudspeakers blare out “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYBODY” and out comes the diabolical Dr. Red Fang and his equally devious manager the Ambassador.  The duo make their way to the ring amid the booing from the fans.  Fang enters the ring and snarls and growls at them.  The music changes and out comes the Hardcore Champion Biceps Bannerman to a nice pop from the crowd.  He makes his way to the ring interacting with the fans.  He gets into the ring and Fang goes right after him after the ref announced this match would be a Thumbtack deathmatch rules.  Biceps had control early on but a sudden appearance from the 6 Man Tag Team Champions Wilber Townsend, Otto Ruthless and Talon McFrost come out and surround the ring.  Wilber sprinkles the thumbtacks in the ring.  Fang hit Biceps with a Vampire Lunge before sending him into the thumbtacks.  Fang then dropkicked Bannerman out of the ring where Wilber and Friends beat the holy hell out of him before rolling him back in the ring.  Fang immediately made the cover and got the 1-2-3.  Dr. Red Fang gets the win, keeps his job and becomes the NEW Hardcore Champion.  Fang and the Ambassador leave as Wilber and crew enter the ring and continue the assault on Bannerman until the Steel Curtain, Buzz and Starbuck, come out and rush down to the ring as the fans pop.  The Curtain come to Bannerman’s rescue and collectively, they send the champs packing.  Wilber throws threatening glares at the men in the ring.  Starbuck Steel gets on the mic and tells them that if they want to continue this, there is a PPV only a week away.  Wilber agrees and says the match is on.  Buzz says that if they want to make this interesting, they can put the titles on the line.  Wilber confers with his team and they agree to it.  Looks like we have another match at the PPV set up.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2020 #872

Hello fans and welcome to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.  We’re wasting no time as the show begins right away with former Tag Team Champions Drew the Canadian Love Machine and Davis ‘the Hoff’ Hoffmeister make their way out.  Drew gets on the mic and says that GM Maxine DeVito cost them a rematch for the belts and then practically served them to Dash and Apollo on a silver platter.  The GM makes her way out.  “WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE CALLING ME OUT?  I AM THE GM OF THIS CESSPOOL”.  The fans boo the crap out of her.  “You think you deserve a shot against the current champs?  Think again.”  This brought out the Muscles who stated that they should be the ones getting the rematch.  Maxine thinks about it and says that right now, both teams will fight for the right to go to the PPV and take on Dash and Apollo for the titles.  She orders the Muscles to the ring as that match is happening now.

 

Without any outside interference, Drew and Davis were able to totally dominate the Muscles and were able to secure the win at the 19 minute mark with a flying dropkick.  The fans pop for Drew and Davis but they are attacked from behind by the World Tag Team Champions Apollo Gyze and Dash Woodbrick.  The champs beat them down and then stand over them holding the titles high.  When asked if he would apologize for such as dastardly deed, Apollo yelled “APOLLO GYZE DON’T APOLOGIZE”.  Apollo and Dash walked off laughing.

 

We head back to the office of the GM and Maxine was watching what just transpired.  She says that the Ladies Champion Catalina Harper is in the house and will be scouting the battle royal in our main event to see who her PPV opponent will be.  She says that by hook or by crook, she will make sure that neither Korbi nor Violet get the shot at the Ladies title.

 

As we head back to the ring, Tommy Lightning comes storming out and marches right down to the ring amid the boos and heckling from the fans.  He gets on the mic complaining that he’s continuously being overlooked.  He demands an opponent right now.  Music hits and out comes the Masked Banana.  ‘Hey Margarita’ plays as he makes his way down to the ring.  He enters and holds his arms high.  He walks over to Tommy and extends his hand.  Tommy angrily slaps it away and then sucker punches MB.  The match however didn’t go Tommy’s way as the Masked Banana totally dominated him.  It took a whopping 18 minutes but MB finally got Tommy trapped in the B.A.N.A.N.A.S. in the middle of the ring and got him to tap out.  The Masked Banana gets the win in dominating fashion.  He leaves to a pop from the crowd.  Tommy jaw jacks with the fans a few minutes before heading to the back himself.

 

Backstage, we see the Ambassador.  The Ambassador says that his man, Dr. Red Fang, has returned to HCW after being electrocuted in the Chamber of Horrors match.  He states that Fang wants a rematch for the Hardcore title.  To entice Biceps Bannerman to agree, he says Fang is willing to put his career on the line and will leave HCW forever if he loses.  The Ambassador says they await Bicep’s response.

 

Max McGillicutty is backstage with Master Bull and the two are talking over drinks.  Max says that he wants Bull to represent him in the fight to regain full control of HCW from ‘Sassy’ Maxine DeVito.  Bull says he’s down but wonders what schmuck Maxine will get to represent her.  Max says he guesses they will have to wait until her highness can get someone on her side.  Bull shakes Max’s hand and makes his way to the ring for his match.

 

Master Bull comes out to a nice pop from the crowd.  He makes his way down to the ring and enters between the ropes.   An unwelcome voice sounds through the loudspeakers “AAAAATENSHUN MAGGOTS” and out comes Col. Flagg.  Flagg is booed heavily as he makes his way to the ring.  He threatens to hit a few of the fans but at the last minutes, shows restraint.  He isn’t given much time to jaw jack as the bell sounds kicking this one off.  The match is pretty even with both men trading control of the pace of the match.  This one went longer than expected but at the 24 minute mark, Bull hit Flagg with a reverse neckbreaker and got the 3 count.  Master Bull gets the much needed win.

 

The Anytime/Anywhere champion Scooter J is walking around backstage when he gets jumped by the biggest of the Huber clan ‘Mountain Man’ Junior Huber.  Scooter J manages to hold his own against the towering giant.  The action spills down to the ring and Junior just tosses SJ around like a rag doll.  At one point, TNT came out only to get a ‘These Hands’ beatdown.  Junior then hurled SJ into the crowd.  The champ threw his hands up and made for the exit.  The ref ended up counting to 10 and Scooter J gets counted out.  Junior gets the win but the title does not change hands on a count out.  Junior takes his frustration out on TNT and then leaves.  (13 min)

 

Ladies Champion Catalina Harper makes her way out to the ring and goes to sit down at commentary to scout the match to see who will become her opponent at the PPV.  The ladies make their way out one by one with Hayley, Goldie, Violet and Korbi all getting nice pops from the crowd.  Once all the ladies entered the ring, the bodies begain flying out in elimination.  Here is how it all went down.

This leaves Korbi to take on Maxine.  The two fought tooth and nail and Maxine hurls Korbi through the ropes.  She follows her out and then handcuffs her to the ringside barrier.

Maxine showboats around the ring but Max McGillicutty comes out fed up with her B.S.  Max says that Maxine never threw Korbi over the top rope so she never got eliminated.  He says that the fans will revolt unless she gives Korbi a match here and now.  Maxine relents and agrees to the match and even states it can be no DQ.  That starts now.

Korbi gets the win and now is going to the PPV to face Catalina for the Ladies Title.  Her celebration is cut short when Catalina attacks her beating her down before finishing her off with the Cat’s Meow.  Catalina stands over her holding her title high as the show comes to an end.
