HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #748 – Phoenix Heat (02/13)

Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of HCW’s Phoenix Heat.  On the card today, the Jacks (Angry Jack Lawson and Mean Jack Mason) will be in action. Also, the King of Cones Magnum Kone makes an appearance.  The Steel Curtain, the Banker and even the TV Champion Davis ‘the Hoff’ Hoffmeister will be here.  Davis will be defending the TV title in tonight’s main event.

The show begins in the office of GM Master Bull.  Bull is on the phone with someone.  “So, have you determined it WAS that chump nugget Apollo Gyze who made those remarks?  Inconclusive?  What does that mean?  No, I don’t need a dictionary definition.  Fine.  Please keep digging as once it’s proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, I’ll want him gone.”  Bull hangs up the phone but then in walks ‘the Elitist’ Reid Rothchild.  Bull is taken aback.  “What are you doing here?  You’re on the Tacoma roster now.”  Reid shakes his head.  “That place sucks.  I want back on this show and I need you to make that happen.”  Bull shakes his head “The terms of your rehiring was that you had to be on that show and were not allowed to be on this one.  It was either that or you were out of a job.”  Reid slammed his hands down on Bull’s desk.  “Max couldn’t book a match to save his life and I’ve been relegated to this curtain jerking thing.  I’m a former main eventer and I should be the star of that show but they can’t seem to get anything right.”  Bull says “Let me talk to Max again but I think our options here are limited.”  Reid starts to walk out but then turns around “Make this happen, Bull” and leaves.  Master Bull drops back into his chair with a huge sigh.

Pyro goes off and our first show of the night is ready to go.  First, Travis ‘Dark Storm’ Ryzing comes out to a small pop from the crowd.  He makes his way down to the ring and then enters.  He removes his jacket and waits for his opponent.  Next, the familiar ringing of a bell sounds and the fans pop as ‘the King of Cones’ Magnum Kone makes his way out.  He hands out ice cream to the kids as he makes his way down to the ring and completes his lap.  Once all the ice cream had been given away, he gets into the ring.  He removes his hat and jacket and is ready to get this one going.  Magnum dominated the match from the get go and it was a pretty one sided contest.   Although Travis was flattened by the Ice Cream Sandwich (splash), he managed to kick out.  Magnum followed it up with the Popsicle (piledriver), another pin and another kick out.  Magnum then just worked over Travis until he planted him with a scoop slam right in the middle of the ring.  Magnum made the cover and this time, Travis didn’t kick out.  Magnum gets the 3 count and the win in only 7 minutes.  The fans pop and Magnum spends a few moments interacting with them and then makes his way to the back.

We go backstage and walking in from the outside is the Banker and his manager Ruth Heartless.  The Banker is carrying the briefcase he blasted (and bloodied) the World Champion Texas Wildfire with.  He carries it like a prized possession and says that in 11 days, he will meet Wildfire again but this time he will walk out with the World Title.

We head to the ring for our next match.  First, Sarona Reiher makes her way out to a decent pop from the crowd.  She gets into the ring waiting for her opponent.  Next, ‘the Signapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher comes out and introduces Vanilla Zombie who gets booed heavily.  She cocks her head and looks quizzically at the crowd and then makes her way down to the ring.  She slides under the bottom rope and immediately attacks Sarona.  Sarona got a few shots in early but then after Preacher provided some ‘guidance’ Vanilla took over.   Preacher tried to verbally antagonize Sarona but she ignored him and caught Vanilla with a superkick.  She went for the pin but Preacher got Vanilla’s foot on the bottom rope making the save.  Vanilla hit a zombie strike that disoriented Sarona.  She then followed it up with a chokeslam.  She went for the cover and Preacher ran over and held Sarona’s foot down (hiding out of sight) and this allowed Vanilla to get the 3 count and the win.  The fans booed as Preacher entered the ring and raised Vanilla’s hand in victory.  After seeing that they were not going to get any love from the fans, they left.  (8 min)

Leiton Snake is backstage and says that everyone keeps forgetting about him even though he has one of the best records in the business.  He says that he is going to challenge the Banker tonight for his shot at the World title and once he defeats him, it will be him facing Texas Wildfire and he says he will guarantee a victory.

We head back to the ring for the next tag team match.  First, the Muscles (McGuire and Weasley) come out wearing their rainbow colored bull horns.  They do goofy stuff and the fans pop and eventually head down to the ring.  Muscles Thorpe is not with them as he is getting his shot at the TV title tonight.  Next, the music changes and the fans boo as Angry Jack Lawson and Mean Jack Mason come out.  They threaten to hit the fans and even rip signs out of the fans hands and tear them to shreds all the while laughing.  They get into the ring carrying their confetti scraps and throw it in the faces of the Muscles.  The Jacks immediately attack the Muscles.   After a brief burst from the Jacks, the Muscles duo ended up taking over and controlling the pace of the match.  Both teams got in some hard shots during double teaming but it wasn’t until the 16 minute mark that things got interesting.  Angry Jack and Mean Jack both got dumped out of the ring.  The Muscles did their best to distract the ref with their antics.  The crowd popped as the Mexicali Flyers made their way out from under the ring.  They attacked the Jacks stunning them pretty bad.  El Dragon Insano and Tornado en Fuego then pulled the Jacks over to the Mexican announce table and began to clear it but Tornado shook his head no.  He then went under the ring and pulled out two tables.  Both were set up and then Tornado picked up Mean Jack and El Dragon picked up Angry Jack and they both powerbombed their respective enemy through the tables.  The fans popped huge!  El Dragon then rolled Angry Jack back in before the Flyers disappeared into the crowd.  McGuire then hit a diving crossbody on Angry Jack and then rolled him up for the 1-2-3.  The Muscles get the win and the fans pop.  They eventually left and the Jacks made their own way to the back on their own.  (18 min)

The Steel Curtain (Buzz and Starbuck Steel) are backstage and they laugh as they replay the footage of the Flyers hitting the double powerbombs on the Jacks.  Buzz says they have the Snake Pit tonight.  Starbuck says that the Snakes are tough but they are tougher.  Buzz looks around and then says “Word”.

Our next match is ready to start.  Leiton Snake comes out to a decent pop from the crowd.  He makes his way down to the ring high fiving a few fans.  He gets in but doesn’t get to do anything as the music instantly changes and out comes the Banker and his manager Ruth Heartless.  The fans boo him big time.  He gets them more riled up when he holds the bloodied and dented briefcase.  He gets into the ring and grabs a mic.  He tells all the sheep that he will win tonight and then go on to defeat the paper champion the Mississippi Moron.  He continued with the nicknames:  Kentucky Kumquat, the Alaskan Albatross, the Florida Fool…you get the picture.  Fortunately, his mic cut off and we didn’t have to hear any more of that.  The bell rang and as expected, Leiton controlled the pace of the match until Ruth decided to get involved.  About 12 minutes in, Leiton had gotten tired of her interference and he cornered her outside the ring and handcuffed her to the ringside barrier effectively taking her out of the equation.  Leiton continued the beatdown but then he went and charged at the Banker in the corner but the Banker moved and Leiton hit an exposed corner (the turnbuckle cover had been removed minutes earlier).  The Banker then grabbed Leiton by the arm and then hopped over the top rope while holding Leiton’s arm.  Leiton’s arm recoiled quickly and he held it while in immense pain.  The Banker got back in the ring and locked in the ATM Fee armbar.  Leiton, fearing any more damage, tapped out.  The Banker gets the win and jumps up and down victorious.  He started to make a victory lap around the ring but then a bandaged World Champion Texas Wildfire rushes out.  The Banker was too slow to get out of the ring and TW just whupped him all over the ring.  TW goes for a bionic elbow but the Banker manages to bail out of the ring just in time.  He grabs his briefcase and hightails it to the back leaving him manager behind.  Wildfire exits the ring and goes over to Ruth.  She is quaking in her boots.  TW stares at her…and then turns and walks away.  The fans pop as the Champ makes his way around the ring and then to the back.  (18 min)

We head backstage again and Angry Jack Lawson and Mean Jack Mason storm into GM Master Bull’s office.  They complain about the underhanded attack by the Flyers.  They say that the match at the PPV against the Flyers is on however, they demand that if the Flyers lose, they must retire from the ring.  Master Bull thinks it’s interesting and says he’ll run it by them.  The Jacks storm out.

We go back to the ring for our next match.  First, Tobias and Niven Snake come out to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  After they got to the ring, the music changed and the fans popped huge for the Steel Curtain.  Buzz and Starbuck Steel make their way out to the ring.  They high five with a few fans and then make their way down to the ring.  They get in and after removing their jackets, the match is ready to begin.  For the first 3 minutes of the match, the Steel Curtain dominated but then the Snakes started to take control of the match.  After dropping Starbuck with the Dirty Deeds DDT, the Snakes then double teamed Starbuck taking control and beginning to dominate the match.  Buzz had enough and then all 4 men hit the ring.  After the ref regained control, Niven hit Starbuck with a spear and Tobias followed it up with a lariat.  The mistake they made was giving Starbuck time to recuperate.  As the ref was getting Niven out of the ring, Starbuck made his way to the top rope and hit the Shooting Star Buck.  The fans popped and that was all Starbuck needed to get the adrenaline going and he hit Tobias with the Starplex (slingshot suplex).  He made the cover and Buzz ran in to knock Niven out of the ring.  Starbuck gets the 1-2-3 and gets his team the win.  The fans pop huge.  Niven wasn’t happy about the last minute shot but eventually all 4 men shook hands.  The Snake Pit left leaving the Steel Curtain in the ring to celebrate before making their own way to the back.  (9 min) 

We head backstage once again and we are with the TV Champion Davis Hoffmeister.  Davis gives props to his opponent – Muscles Thorpe - and says Thorpe is one of the strongest guys in the business today but strength only gets you so far.  It will take more than muscle to get the TV title off his waist and welcomes Thorpe to give it his best shot.

It is time for our main event.  First, Muscles Thorpe makes his way down to the ring to a small pop from the crowd.  He is wearing his rainbow colored bull horns and carrying his box of Booty O’s cereal.  He gets in the ring and then flings the box of cereal into the crowd and watches as fans fight over it like chum in the water.  Next, the music changes and the fans pop huge as TV Champion Davis ‘the Hoff’ Hoffmeister comes out.  He high fives with the fans and then rolls under the bottom rope.  He climbs the turnbuckle, removes his belt and holds it high.  This gets the fans psyched up for sure.  He steps down and hands the title to the ref and then removes his jacket as he prepares for the match.  The bell sounds and Davis drops Thorpe with a clothesline.  Thorpe battles back with a side belly to belly suplex but Davis actually pulled Thorpe down with him and then locked him into the Hollywood (Camel) Clutch.  Stuck in the middle of the ring and in a precarious position, he had no choice but to tap out.  Davis gets the win in only 2 minutes.  The fans pop for him but his celebration is cut short when ‘Big Money’ Ned Rhyerson III comes out with a mic and mocks Davis for taking on ‘lower class talent’ and says that if Davis were any kind of champion, he would put the belt on the line against him.  Ned climbed into the ring and stood toe to toe with Davis.  Ned continued jaw jacking and then went to throw a punch but Davis beat him to the punch (pun intended) and started peppering Ned with lefts and rights.  He threw Ned to the ropes but then Ned opted to find safer ground and held the ropes and slid through them and out to the floor.  He kept jaw jacking as he backed up the ramp.  Davis took his belt and held it over the ropes trying to get Ned to come back but Rhyerson didn’t want any part of the champ…yet.  I’m sure we will see future interaction between these two.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #747 – Tacoma Thunder (02/10)

Hello wrestling fans and welcome back to another episode of HCW’s Tacoma Thunder.   Well, here in western Washington where it rarely snows…well, it snowed….and a lot. You might think treacherous roads would keep people holed up in their homes…not these fans.  HCW has a huge diehard fan base and they seem to want to come out despite the rain or snow.  Today’s show was held earlier in the afternoon as to get those same fans and performers to their safe locations to avoid any issues with snow and ice.

Today’s show kicked off with GM Max McGillicutty coming out.  He thanked the fans for braving the weather and promised them a treat for making the effort.  He doesn’t want to keep everyone waiting so it’s time to kick the show off.

Pyro goes off as Max leaves the stage and today’s show is off to a roaring start.  Music hits and out comes ‘The Elitist’ Reid Rothchild.  The fans are booing him as he makes his way down to the ring.  He stops and steals signs from two different fans.  He tears parts of them off and then shows it to the camera.  It now reads “Reid > Drew”.   He laughs and throws it to the ground.  He gets into the ring and begins to showboat and the fans respond negatively.  His showboating is cut short (thank goodness) and out comes the Axe.  Axe gets a pop as he makes his way down to the ring.  He shakes hands with a few fans and then climbs up on the apron and then steps over the top rope.  The bell rings right away and Reid hits the Reid Bottom (Rock Bottom).  He stands over Axe with a smirk on his face.  Axe stands up and hits the Axe.  He goes for the pin but only gets a 1 count.  Axe would go on dominating the match even hitting the Axe again at the 12 minute mark but Reid got his foot on the ropes.   Axe would continue to dominate even after almost knocking Reid out of his boots with a power punch.  At the 18 minute mark, Axe locked in a headlock but Reid reversed it and hit the Rothchild Stunner.  He went for a pin but Axe kicked out at 2.    Reid followed it up with the Reid-a-rooni.  Axe came back with a shoulder tackle and then threw Reid into the corner.  He went for a high knee smash but Reid moved and Axe hit the turnbuckle hard.  Reid locked in the Figure Four Reid lock and Axe tapped out.  Reid gets the win with seconds to spare.  The fans boo as he celebrates his win. He makes his way to the back.  The ref ends up helping Axe to the back.  (20 min)

We head backstage and see Jacques Beannot blindside and attack the Wicked Prophet beating him down.  He then screams that he is accepting the match against the Prophet at the PPV.  He says that the Pheasant will rue the day he ever crossed paths with him.

We head back to the ring for the next match.  First, Smasher #2 comes out to booing from the crowd.  He’s solo tonight as his tag team partner is nursing a bum elbow.  Once in the ring, the music changed and out comes Protocide.  The masked man comes out to a pop from the crowd.  He gets into the ring and is attacked by Smasher #2.  The match was pretty even but early on, Protocide went for the Super Soldier Test of Strength but #2 managed to make it to the ropes to break the hold.  Protocide immediately goes for the test of strength again but #2 once again makes it to the ropes.  #2 began to control the pace of the match and it looked like things were going his way.  He stomped on Protocide but the masked man got up knocking Smasher #2 down and stomped on his hands.  He then locked in the test of strength for the third time and like the saying goes, 3^rd time’s the charm.  Smasher #2 was not able to make it to the ropes and ended up submitting to the move.  The fans pop as Protocide gets his arm raised in victory.  He and his opponent both made their way to the back separately.  (15 min)

We are back in GM Max McGillicutty’s office and he is with the Wicked Prophet.  Prophet says that he cannot wait to get in the ring against Beannot and says he wants to referee Jacques’ match tonight.  Max says he doesn’t think that is a good idea.  Prophet says that he will forfeit his match at the PPV if he does anything that is not on the up and up in this match.  Max thinks about it for a minute and agrees.  He tells WP to go get ready for that match.

We are back to the action.  First, Shawn ‘Abs of Stone’ Austin and Perfect Pecs Stoddard make their way out to booing from the crowd.  They get in the ring and mock the fans from the ring.   The fans then explode when the Mexicali Flyers come out.  El Dragon Insano and Tornado en Fuego come out and the fans are on their feet.  They get into the ring and enjoy the fans response to them but they are attacked before the bell.  The Flyers managed to hold back their opponents until Angry Jack Lawson came out causing a distraction.  This allowed Pecs and Abs to take advantage of the distraction and were able to dish out the damage to the Flyers.  At the 17 minute mark, Tornado en Fuego gets tossed out of the ring.  Before he could get back in, Mean Jack Mason comes in from the crowd and attacks Tornado from behind.  Pecs distracted the ref which allowed the attack to go unnoticed.  Mean Jack then blasted Tornado with a chair before rolling him back into the ring and taking off through the crowd.  Abs went over and picked Tornado up and locked in a sleeper hold.  With Tornado already out on his feet, it didn’t take long for the ref to raise and watch Tornado’s hand drop three times.  The ref then called for the bell awarding the match to Perfect Pecs and Shawn Austin via submission.  They then left leaving the Flyers in the ring.  El Dragon went over to check on his partner but then got ambushed by Angry Jack and Mean Jack.  They hit Tornado with a double chokeslam and then hit El Dragon with a double powerbomb.  They left the ring and the carnage behind.  Medics came out to check on the Flyers who eventually made their way back under their own power.  (18 min; 5 for the aftermath)

Jacques Beannot and his manager ‘the Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher are backstage. When asked why Beannot constantly attacks the Wicked Prophet, Beannot responds “He is nothing.  And when I’m done with him, he’ll be less than nothing.” They then walked off leaving the interviewer speechless.

It’s back to the ring for more interesting action.  First, Kimberly Kiccsass makes her way out to booing from the crowd.  She doesn’t get to yell at the crowd all that much as smoke fills the stage and out like a rocket, Violet Valkyrie rushes down to the ring and slides under the bottom rope.  Kimberly makes like she’s going to attack Violet but backs off after a stern glare from Violet.  The two lock up almost immediately and the match is pretty even through the first 9 minutes of the match.  Kimberly then tried to whip Violet into the corner but Violet reversed it and then slapped on a headlock and then hit a running one handed bulldog.   After that, Violet took over the match and controlled the pace outwrestling her opponent.  Violet hits a running clothesline and goes for the pin only getting a 2 count.  Kimberly then locked in the dragon sleeper hoping for a submission but Violet was too close to the ropes and was able to break the hold.  Violet gets a surge of adrenaline and rushes the ropes connecting with a diving back elbow.  She makes the cover and gets the 3 count.  Violet gets the win and the fans pop.  She celebrates with the fans and then makes her way to the back.  (16 min)

We head back to Max’s office again and he is with the Mexicali Flyers.  The Flyers complain about the constant sneak attacks and challenge the Jack’s to a match at the PPV.  Max tells the Flyers that they may need to take control of the situation.  They nod back and smile and then leave.

The action continues with our next match.  First, the Crocodile Hunter makes his way out to a pop from the crowd.  He gets in the ring and tries to start getting the fans psyched up but then the music changes and out comes Jacques Beannot and his manager ‘The Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher.  The duo head down to the ring as the fans boo them.  Jacques had some words with a fan and that seemed to get the crowd more riled up.  He gets to the ring and asks where the referee is.  His music ends and out comes the Wicked Prophet dressed as a ref.  Jacques tried to complain to his manager but it did no good.  The Wicked Prophet warned Jacques and Preacher that any shenanigans would not be tolerated.  He told both men he will call it on the straight and narrow.  The match then began.  About 5 minutes in, Matt Preacher tried to get involved and the Wicked Prophet saw him and ejected him from ringside.  Preacher had a bitch fit.  After Preacher left, the Crocodile Hunter took over owning Jacques.  11 minutes in, Jacques hit Croc with a French smash but then he got distracted when Nix Anderson came out.  He began jaw jacking with Jacques and gave Croc time to recover.  Croc got up and hit Jacques with a falling overhead kick.  He hooked the leg.  The Prophet made the count without rushing (it actually seemed a little slow – I guess he wanted to make sure there was no hint of impropriety) and counted 1-2-3.  The Crocodile Hunter gets the win much to the delight of the crowd.  Jacques tried to complain but there was no one left around to listen to him yammer.  Nix Anderson left first followed by Croc and the Wicked Prophet and finally (he would not go quietly into the night), Jacques.  (12 min)

Tonight’s main event will have Wilber Townsend challenging Leon Teremoto for the US title.  He cut a promo before heading out to the ring:

“Sing. Sing. Love. Love. All power in this world is measured by how much love you have. Whether you love to bring joy or suffering you cannot deny that love is a delectable experience. Yeah, man. It is a ravenous wild fire with beautiful flames. It is a divine wine that brings warmth to those who drink it in. It cannot be defined. You have to live it; you have to feel it. Get them to love you, Leon. And then they'll do anything for you. But you already know that, don't you? And how does it feel now, Leon, to know that you have lost their love? To know that they would rather see you suffer than see you smile, and I like your style?  I think we've reached the threshold. boy, I think it's high time that you stop underestimating me. Thinking of me as just a man is a mistake; I am not. I am the nagging conscience of a world that has thrown itself away to mortal monsters. I am everywhere, and I am everything. And my words, man, my words are not just words. My words are razor blades that cut deep. And they are working.  Follow the buzzards Leon as they will lead you home.”

It’s time for our main event.  The light go dim and then a single lantern shines on the stage.  It gets a little brighter and we see it’s held by Wilber Townsend.  Wilber begins to make his way down to the ring and the air seems a little chillier when he’s around.  He gets into the ring and the lights come up.  Next, the music changes and out comes the US Champion Leon Teremoto.  The fans pop for the champ as he makes his way down to the ring.  He does not look fazed as he climbs through the ropes.  He walks right over to Wilber and stares eye to eye with the creepy one.  Leon hands his title to the ref who holds it high and this one is ready to go.  The two immediately begin slugging it out.  Wilber takes control for the first 5 minutes of the match but then eats a dropkick from Leon.  Wilber recovers pretty quickly and hits the Go to Sleep on Leon.  He makes the cover but only gets a 2 count. He picks Leon up but Leon starts to ‘hulk up’ and then a kick to the gut is followed by a powerbomb right in the middle of the ring.  Leon makes the cover hooking the leg and gets the 1-2-3.  Leon Teremoto gets the win and retains his title.  The fans explode and Leon holds his title high.  Wilber leaves the ring disappointed and Leon follows shortly thereafter.  (8 min)  The show then comes to an end and the cameras stop rolling.

Max McGillicutty comes out and gets into the ring and congratulates Leon on his win.  He says that he promised the fans a special treat and tonight, here in Tacoma, they get one.  Max then waits for what comes next.   Suddenly, over the loudspeakers we hear “APOLLO GYZE DON’T APOLOGIZE” and out comes the Hardcore Champion.  Apollo makes his way down to the ring.  Max explains that the Hardcore title is NOT on the line tonight but Apollo was picked by tonight’s opponent as someone he wanted to meet.  Apollo asks who it is and Max tells him he won’t have long to wait.  Music hits and the fans are on their feet for the World Champion Texas Wildfire.  TW comes out and the fans practically blow the roof off the place.  He makes his way down to the ring.  Max also tells TW that his title is also not on the line.  Apollo asked “If this isn’t a title match, I don’t need to be here.”  He tried to leave but Max told him he would be stripped of his title if he walked away now.  After some hemming and hawing, Apollo relented and the no DQ match was ready to begin.  As soon as Max left the ring, Apollo hit TW with a low blow.  That shot though, gave Apollo a slight advantage over the champ.  Apollo tried but Texas Wildfire kept battling back and Apollo got more and more worried.  After TW had pummeled Apollo with rapid punches, a distraction came from the crowd and the Banker ran in with his briefcase and he blasted TW with it over and over.  Because this was a no DQ match, there was nothing the ref could do.  Apollo then hit two delayed vertical suplexes and then made the cover hooking the leg (and probably the tights) to get the 1-2-3.  Apollo gets the win much to the fan’s dismay.  He demanded the World title but since it was not on the line tonight, it does not change hands.  Apollo was pissed and grabbed his title and stormed off.  The Banker then rolled back into the ring and picked up TW and then DDT’d him right on the briefcase.  He then stood over the fallen champion holding his dented briefcase high over his head as the show officially comes to an end.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #746 – Phoenix Heat (02/06)

Hello fans and welcome back to the latest installment from HCW’s Phoenix Heat show.  On the card tonight, Ladies Champion Ruby Rose teams with Violet Valkyrie.  US Champion Leon Teremoto is also here tonight to wrestle but it will be a non-title match.  In a couple of challenge matches, ‘the Ragin Cajun’ King Rad Gumbo challenges the Banker for the #1 contender spot for the World Championship and Wilber Townsend takes on Anthony ‘Static’ Boom for Boom’s spot in the US title top 10.  Closing out the show will have the 6 Man Tag Team Titles defended when the champions the Steel Curtain and Biceps Bannerman take on Tommy Lightning and the Smashers.  With all this out of the way, let’s get this party started.

Pyro goes off and we are ready to kick off tonight’s event.  First, Talon McFrost makes his way out to the ring to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  It wasn’t until he flipped them off that they totally turned on him.  Next, the music changed and out comes the US Champion Leon Teremoto.  The fans pop and cheer as Leon makes his way down to the ring.  He climbs the turnbuckle holding his title high.  He steps down and goes to lay the title in the corner as this is not a title match.  The bell rings and right off the bat, Talon hits the Cold Stone and tries for a pin but barely gets a one count.  After that, he got in one more offensive move and the rest was Leon.  This one didn’t go long as Leon hit a powerbomb at the 5 minute mark to secure the 1-2-3.  Leon gets the win and celebrates briefly before leaving.  (5 min)

We head backstage and are in GM Master Bull’s office.  Bull is with Tacoma GM Max McGillicutty and we know the two will be doing a lot of collaboration as we head to the PPV.  Their discussion is interrupted when ‘the Elitist’ Reid Rothchild walks in.  Reid complains that Drew the Canadian Love Machine cost him his match and wants to know what Bull will do about it.  “I can’t do anything.  You’re on the Tacoma roster.  You need to take this up with Max.”  Reid complains that Max is holding him back and demands that Bull do something.  When it’s clear that Master Bull can’t do anything, Reid then demands that he be added to the match to determine the #1 contender for the US title.  Bull and Max think about it and agree to let him in.  Before walking off, Reid says “I’m glad you two girls could decide on something” and exits the office.

We head back to the ring for the next match.  First, Lavender Gooms comes out first to a small pop from the crowd.  Next, ‘the Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher comes out and is followed by Vanilla Zombie.  Both get booed as they head to the ring.  Vanilla hits the ring and attacks Lavender.   Through 7 minutes, the match was relatively close but after Vanilla hit the Soul Crusher, things went her way.  Vanilla dazed Lavender with a headbutt and the hit the Soul Crusher but when she went for the pin, she pulled Lavender up by the hair.  Preacher then signaled for it to end and Vanilla hit a Zombie piledriver (looked nasty).  She made the cover and got the easy 1-2-3.  Vanilla Zombie gets the win and stares at the camera sending a direct message at Ladies Champion Ruby Rose for sure.  (12 min)

Backstage, Ladies Champion Ruby Rose and Violet Valkyrie are talking strategy when Missy Chick, Sarona Reiher and Leslie Grimes all walk in.  They start talking smack and Ruby and Violet get into their faces.  Leslie challenges them to a handicap match (3 on 2) but Ruby says that they are smarter than that and they’ll get a 3^rd person for their team.  After another brief staredown, the heels left.

Next up is the triple threat battle to determine the #1 contender and who will go on to the PPV to meet US Champion Leon Teremoto.  First, Leon comes out and goes to sit at commentary.  Next, the lights go dim and a single lantern lights the ramp and Wilber Townsend makes his way out.  His creepy music plays in the background.  He gets in the ring and blows out the light in the lantern as the lights come up.  Next, Anthony ‘Static’ Boom comes out to a huge pop from the crowd.  He high fives the fans and makes his way into the ring.  Finally, ‘the Elitist’ Reid Rothchild finally makes his way out (his music had been playing for like 15 seconds before he emerged from behind the curtain).   Reid sneers at the fans who boo as he walks past.   Anthony and Reid briefly teamed up to attack Wilber but Reid was thrown out of the ring and Anthony was introduced to the steel post the hard way and he got busted open.  Despite losing blood, Anthony was in there kicking some serious ass.  After a few minutes, he began to slow down and got trapped in the Figure Four Reid lock.  Wilber made the save and then dumped Anthony out to the floor.  Reid turned around only to get hit by a short arm clothesline from Wilber.  Wilber went for the pin and grabbed a handful of tights and put his feet on the ropes for leverage and to secure the 3 count.  Wilber Townsend gets the win and will go on to face Leon Teremoto at the next show for the US title.  Wilber leans over the ropes and starts to laugh at Leon.  Leon stands up and the two have a stare down.  Reid, pissed that he got pinned, exited the ring and began putting the boots to Anthony.  Just then, Drew the Canadian Love Machine came down and chased Reid into the crowd.  (13 min)

Backstage ‘the Ragin Cajun’ King Rad Gumbo mocks the Banker and says that he is nothing more than a sniveley nothing and he will be the one getting the World Title match and getting HIS belt back.  He tells the Banker that he needs to crawl back under the rock he was under and stay there.

We head back to the ring for the next match.  First, the team of Leslie Grimes, Missy Chick & Sarona Reiher all make their way out first to booing from the fans.  They get in the ring and begin mocking the fans.  Next, Violet Valkyrie and Ladies Champion Ruby Rose come out to a huge pop from the crowd.  Violet has a mic in hand and says “How convenient for the three of you to challenge us when no one else was here.”  Ruby takes the mic and adds “It doesn’t matter what shenanigans you try, we can take you on our own.”  All of a sudden, we hear over the loudspeaker “…but you don’t have to” and out comes Hayley Hailstone.  They all shake hands and then rush the ring.  The heels all bailed out of the ring when the faces got the high ground.  Hayley, Violet and Ruby all climbed separate turnbuckles and the crowd popped huge.  They jumped down.  Violet motioned for their challengers to re-enter the ring.  Finally, once they did, there was a miscommunication on who would start.  Violet didn’t care and began attacking all three with Hayley and Ruby joining in.  This one was truly a slobberknocker of a match.  There was lots to double and triple teaming throughout the match.  We pick up at the 37^th minute of the match and all 6 competitors are in the ring at the same time.

The team of Hayley Hailstone, Violet Valkyrie and Ladies Champion Ruby Rose get the win.  The heels all left the ring allowing the winners to stay and soak in their win.  After a brief interaction with the fans, they 3 ladies made their way backstage.

Tommy Lightning and the Smashers are being interviewed and they say that the time has come for the Steel Curtain and the turncoat Biceps Bannerman and he and the Smashers will destroy them and take the titles.  Tommy says that the time for apologies has come and gone and tonight, they will just kick ass instead.

Our next match begins with ‘Pomp and Circumstance’ playing and out comes ‘the Ragin Cajun’ King Rad Gumbo and Queen Alexandria.  They make their regal walk down to the ring and get in.  Rad immediately grabs a mic and starts to call out World Champion Texas Wildfire for constantly ducking him.  Just then, music hit and out comes the World Champion.  Texas Wildfire makes his way right down to the ring and enters swiping the mic from Rad.  “Ducking you?  Really?  I’ve had an open contract since the day I BEAT you for this belt and you have been too busy to accept it.  Now, you want to call me out for ‘ducking’ you?  Face it Gumbo…you lost your belt, you lost your nerve and now, you’re just a shell of what you once were.  Oh, and at the PPV, I’ll bet you lose the crown too.”  Gumbo grabs his crown and holds it close.  Wildfire leaves the ring but goes to sit at commentary so that he can scout the match.  Gumbo glares at him and then hands his cape and crown to his Queen.  Next, the Banker and his manager Ruth Heartless make their way out.  Ruth has a mic of her own.  She says she echoes what Wildfire just said and that the Banker is almost at the pinnacle.  Only one thing stands in their way…Gumbo.  Tonight, the Banker defeats the King and will secure his spot at the PPV where the only thing left will be to take the World title.  The Banker enters the ring and sets his briefcase down in the corner.  The match begins with the Banker hitting a Late Charge Con-Chair-to but Gumbo fights back with the Where ya at (quick jabs).   Queen Alexandria then distracts the Banker and Gumbo hits him from behind and goes for a quick pin but the Banker kicks out.  Gumbo then hits the Voodoo Driver and follows it up with more quick jabs.  The Banker hits an Overdraft uppercut but Gumbo stuns him with more jabs.  The Banker hits a deposit diving DDT and again, Gumbo throws more jabs.  The Banker hits a withdrawal powerslam and Gumbo hits a Voodoo Driver.  Gumbo locks in the New Orleans crab but the Banker doesn’t submit.  Ruth finally gets fed up and grabs a can of hairspray.  She goes to spray it in Rad’s face but Queen Alexandria blindsides her and then delivers a huge slap to the Banker’s face.  Gumbo rolls him up and gets the 1-2-3.  Holy Cow!  Rad Gumbo just upset the Banker becoming the #1 contender for the World Title.  (9 min)  Gumbo grabs a mic “Ya know, this just goes to show that this guy is not a number 1 contender at all.  The fact that I beat him so singlehandedly goes to show he doesn’t deserve this.  However, I will NOT be taking his match.  He can have it.  You claim that I am afraid of you Wildfire… I think this proves I am not.  In fact, I’ll state the fact right here and now.  At the Critical Mass PPV in April, I will cash in my rematch clause.  I don’t care who the champion is at that time, I will be the Champion walking out that night.”  Gumbo drops the mic and he and Queen Alexandria leave.  Ruth and the Banker leave.  Well, I guess the Banker is still getting his title shot.  Texas Wildfire does it a quick meet and greet with the fans before leaving.

We head backstage one final time and we are with the 6 Man Tag Team Champions the Steel Curtain and Biceps Bannerman.  Bannerman and Starbuck both agree that Tommy has gone over the edge and has lost all grasp on reality.  Buzz tells them not to hate him but to pity him.  Tommy has lost some of his marbles (Buzz holds a bag of marbles in his hand) and tells Tommy that when he’s ready to come back to reality, he can have his marbles back.  The trio then go to make their way to the ring.

It’s time for our Main Event.  First, the challengers Tommy Lightning and the Smashers come out to a very loud and vocal booing from the crowd.  The Smashers threaten to hit some fans and Tommy grabs and tears up a couple of signs that read “Tommy Sucks”.  They get into the ring and the booing continues until the music changes and out comes the 6 Man Tag Champs.  The Steel Curtain (Starbuck and Buzz Steel) and Biceps Bannerman come out to a huge pop from the crowd.  In the ring, Tommy and the Smashers cover their ears as the noise is so loud.  The champs make a beeline for the ring and Tommy and the Smashers bail.  Eventually they all got into the ring.  Buzz and Tommy started things off but was super entertaining is that Tommy NEVER was allowed to tag out.  Oh, the Smashers would come in during double and triple teams but something always prevented Tommy from making the tag.  On the few occasions he did, the ref didn’t see it and would send the Smashers back to the outside.  The Steel Curtain and Biceps otherwise kept Tommy sequestered in their corner.  3 times during the match, Tommy would try for a pin but blatantly grabbed the tights and the ref would refuse to count.  After the last time, the ref warned Tommy if he did it again, he would be disqualified.  Biceps made the hot tag to Starbuck and Starbuck snuck in while Tommy’s interaction with the ref was going on.  Starbuck then rolled up Tommy with a small package (and he grabbed the tights too but kept it well hidden) and scored the pin.  The Steel Curtain and Biceps Bannerman win the match and retain their titles.  Tommy snuck out of the ring and grabbed a chair.  Buzz ran over and hit him with the Buzz Cut.  Biceps picked him up and threw him over his shoulder and went to the corner.  He then ran and planted Tommy with a huge powerslam.  Starbuck then went to the top rope and hit the Shooting Star Buck.  The Smashers finally got Tommy out of there and carried/dragged him all the way to the back.  The champions stayed in the ring soaking in the adulation from the crowd as the show comes to an end.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #745 – Tacoma Thunder (02/03)

Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of HCW’s Tacoma Thunder.  Officially with this issue, we will go back to sending out updates via email after each show as opposed to sending both in one email.  It will be easier to manage this way. 

The show begins with a recap of the conversation between the two GM’s Max McGillicutty and Master Bull where it pertains to the so-called ‘threat’ that allegedly seems to have originated from Hardcore Champion Apollo Gyze.  Our in-house forensic investigator Gardinia Blue is still looking into the video to determine if Apollo truly is behind it.  Max tells Bull that if they can find indisputable evidence that he did make the video, then he will fire Apollo on the spot.  Bull seemed appeased…for now.

We cut backstage and we see the Wicked Prophet walking up to the match board to see if he’s got himself a match but he doesn’t see his name however he is listed as the referee for two matches.  He goes to go get himself ready.  We zoom in on the board and see that he is assigned to the Hardcore title match and the World Tag Team title match.

Pyro goes off and the spotlights swirl around the arena and the fans pop huge.  Our first match is ready to get underway.  First, Shawn ‘Abs of Stone’ Austin comes out and the fans boo the crap out of him.  He flips off a few and makes his way into the ring.  He removes his robe (ala Rick Rude) and shows off his 8 pack.  The fans pop when the next music plays and it’s none other than Drew the Canadian Love Machine.  The noise practically blows the roof off the place.  Drew shakes the hands of a few of the fans before rushing to the ring.  He climbs the turnbuckles and the fans get louder and louder.  He steps down still favoring his ankle to make sure he doesn’t tweak it.  Once the bell rang, it was apparent that Drew did not lose anything.  He dominated the match but a few times, he stopped to rub his ankle and heel.  Each time he did this, it gave Shawn precious few minutes to recover and that allowed him to keep kicking out of pins.  As we closed in on the final minute of the match, Drew hit Shawn with the La Casita but he was slow to make the cover.  Finally once he crawled over, he draped an arm over Shawn but the ref would only count to 2 before the bell rang bringing this one to a draw finish.  The fans popped for Drew but it was clear he wasn’t happy with his performance.  Just then, Maximillian Redbeard rushed out and went after Shawn.  Shawn bailed out of the ring and took off through the crowd with Redbeard hot on his heels.  Just as Drew was getting ready to leave, he is attacked from behind by Reid Rothchild.  Reid hits the Rothchild Stunner and then locks in the Reid (ankle) lock.  4 suits from the back rushed out to prevent further damage to Drew’s ankle.  Reid grabs a mic and says he is accepting Drew’s challenge at the PPV and reiterates that HCW is no longer big enough for the two of them and one of them in fact is going to be retired at the PPV.  Reid drops the mic and walks off.  Drew is able to walk but with help as he makes his way to the back.

There is a commotion backstage and a brawl has erupted between Tommy Lightning and Starbuck Steel.  GM Max McGillicutty makes his way over and tells Starbuck and Tommy that they have to settle this in the ring and that match will be up after the next match.  He sends them their separate ways.

We head to the ring for the next match.  First, Wendell Hammerschmidt makes his way out to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Next, Nix Anderson makes his way out and gets a little better pop.  He stops and points to a sign a fan has that reads “Nix > Preacher’s Posse” and he shakes the fan’s hand and makes his way to the ring.  The match begins right away and the two seemed to be pretty evenly matched throughout.  Both men held the advantage for short periods of time.  At the 17 minute mark, Nix wanted to stop and play the ukulele but Wendell wrenched it out of his hands and threw it across the ring.  He then hit nix with a German suplex.  Nix crawled to the corner and picked up his ukulele and set it on the top rope.  Wendell charged going for a splash but Nix moved and Wendell smashed his head into the ukulele disintegrating it.  Nix was mad but went for the pin and got the 3 count.  He gets his arm raised in victory but silently laments over his ruined musical instrument.  He then leaves to a pop from the crowd.  (18 min)

Hardcore Hensen confronts Apollo Gyze backstage and demands he get his rematch for the title.  Apollo says no and that he has to defend against someone else tonight.  Hensen gets into Apollo’s face again and demands his rematch.  Apollo says no again.  Hensen storms off.

We head back to the ring for the next match.  Tommy Lightning comes out first but he is booed heavily.  Next, Starbuck Steel comes out and the fans pop.  Tommy is pissed and attacks Starbuck before he can make it into the ring.  Both men hold their own for the first 13 minutes of the match but the Starbuck hit Tommy with the Buck U and things began going his way.  Each time though that Starbuck tried for a pin, Tommy would roll out of the ring.  Finally, Starbuck had had enough but there were only seconds left in the match.  Tommy hits the ropes and hits a flying bodypress.  Starbuck picks him up and hits the Buck U but before he could go for the pin, the bell rings bringing this one to a draw finish.  A frustrated Tommy leaves the ring and enters with a steel chair.  He then hits Starbuck once across the back but before he could deliver another blow, Buzz Steel and Biceps Bannerman rushed out to save their partner.  Tommy bolted.  Buzz got on the mic and told Tommy to find himself a tag team as they were going to defend the 6 man titles against them this week in Phoenix.  Tommy laughs and after getting a mic, he says he doesn’t have to find a team as one approached him.  Buzz asks who and Tommy tells him to turn around.  Buzz and Biceps turn around only to see the Smashers standing there.  They attack Buzz and Biceps and Tommy rushes back down to join in the fun.  The Smashers hit the Doomsday Device on each member of the 6 Man champs and stood their laughing.  (20 min draw for the match; 5 for the aftermath).  Eventually they all left.

Hayley Hailstone is backstage with a couple of awards.  She says that she won two different awards from the Teen and Kids awards shows – One for most positive entertainer and one top Achievement award.  She is interrupted by Ravishing Raquel who calls her awards stupid and takes one and throws it on the ground shattering the glass.  Hayley slaps the spit out of Raquel and the two brawl until it is broken up.  Max shows up again and tells the two of them to take it to the ring now.

Ravishing Raquel makes her way out first and she is not happy.  She doesn’t even make it to the ring before Hayley rushes out and attacks her (not what we expected but she is a little spitfire after all).  The bell sounds as soon as both women rolled in to the ring.  Early in the match, Hayley hits the “What the Hail” but only gets a 2 count.   A few minutes later and reversing a ravishing armbar, Hayley hits a tornado DDT and goes for a pin but Raquel gets her foot on the ropes after 1.  Both women battle in and out of the ring.  At the 18 minute mark, Raquel connects with a moonsault.  Before she goes for the pin, Ladies Champion Ruby Rose comes out.  Raquel gets up and begins to jaw jack with the champ.  This gives Hayley the minute she needs to recoup.  She gets up and turns Raquel around and hits the What the Hail again and hooks the leg solidly to get the 1-2-3.  Hayley gets the win and the fans pop huge for her.  She looks over at Ruby who nods her head and then walks away.  Hayley celebrates with the fans for almost 5 minutes before heading to the back.  (18 min)

Backstage in GM Max McGillicutty’s office, the World Tag Team Champions Scooter J and TNT are told that originally the team they were going to face didn’t make it to the arena in time so that match is off.  Just then, the Mexicali Flyers walk in and say that they have yet to get their rematch and since the champs are here and want to wrestle, why not give the fans a hell of a show.  Max agrees and so do the champs.  Everyone shakes hands as our Main event for the evening has just been locked in.

It’s time for the Hardcore title defense.  First, Tobias Snake makes his way out to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  We immediately cut backstage where Apollo Gyze is complaining about defending the title when he just did it a few weeks ago.  The Wicked Prophet, dressed in his ref attire, walks by and tells Apollo to ‘man up’ and get his ass to the ring.  Apollo stands there a moment stewing and then heads out.  Just as Apollo was making his way through the curtain, his tag line blares over the loudspeakers “APOLLO GYZE DON’T APOLOGIZE” and the champs makes his way down to the ring with the belt over his shoulder.  Right off the bat, Tobias hits the Dirty Deeds DDT and the Wicked Prophet makes a 2 count.   Apollo struggled a bit after that and Tobias followed it up a few minutes later with a hook and ladder facebuster.  He goes for the pin again but Apollo kicks out.  Apollo throws Tobias out of the ring and then hits a suicide dive to the floor onto Tobias.  The Prophet had to yell at Apollo to get back in the ring.  After this move, the match went the way of the champ’s.  At the 9 minute mark, Tobias had tried to bring in a golf club but Apollo swiped it from Tobias and hits him square in the gonads and then hits a sit out powerbomb.  Apollo makes a lazy cover and the Prophet begins to count but Tobias manages to kick out.  Apollo, sensing he needs to finish this now, picks up Tobias and hits a second sit out powerbomb.  This time he hooks the leg (and puts his feet on the ropes for extra leverage).  The Wicked Prophet made what seemed like a faster than normal count which allowed Apollo to get the 1-2-3.  Apollo Gyze wins the match and successfully defends his title.  Apollo yells at the Prophet to raise his hand in victory but when he tried, Apollo yanked his hand away saying that the False Prophet doesn’t get that honor.  He holds up his title and the fans boo.  Apollo leaves followed by Tobias.  The ringside announcers call the Wicked Prophet over and he goes to converse with them during the final break.  (10 min)

Hardcore Champion Apollo Gyze walks through the curtains declaring himself the grand champion but then he is ambushed by Hardcore Hensen who throws him through some stacked boxes.  Hensen hits the Hard Times on Apollo.  Hensen then challenges Apollo to defend the title at the PPV but the loser must leave HCW.  Hensen figures that if the GM’s can’t/won’t fire Apollo, he’ll drive him out.

It is time for our Main Event with the World Tag Team Titles on the line.  First, the challengers the Mexicali Flyers (El Dragon Insano and Tornado en Fuego come out to a deafening pop from the fans.  They make their way down and get in the ring climbing each of the turnbuckles to louder and louder pops from the crowd.  Just then, they were attacked by Angry Jack Lawson and Mean Jack Mason.  The Jacks pummeled the challengers.  El Dragon Insano was whipped into the steel post and Tornado en Fuego was introduced the hard way into the steel steps.  Next, the music hits for the Tag Team Champs and out comes Scooter J & TNT.  They get a pop but not one at the level of the Flyers but they rush the ring and chase off the Jacks.  Mean Jack points to them and then motions they want a shot at the champs.  Scooter J holds the ropes open for them but they choose not to oblige.  The Jacks leave.  The Wicked Prophet checks on the Flyers and asks if they want to continue.  Both Flyers said yes.  Once the bell rang, it was apparent that the attack by Angry Jack and Mean Jack took a greater toll on them than expected.   TNT attempted the first pin after hitting El Dragon with a powerbomb.  2 minutes later, El Dragon makes the tag to Tornado en Fuego.  Tornado almost immediately eats a flying dropkick from TNT.  TNT tries for a pin but only gets a 2 count.   TNT follows it up with the Townsend Driver and tags Scooter J in.  The champs did some double teaming but the second time around, they were slow to leave the ring.  The Wicked Prophet turned his back to get one of the champs out of the ring and Mean Jack Mason snuck in from the crowd and choked Tornado on the ropes.  Scooter J went for a pin (not having seen this) but only got a 2 count.  Tornado tried to make the tag but Scooter J pulled him back into the ring.  Just then, Angry Jack showed up and they pulled El Dragon Insano off the apron and double chokeslammed him through the Spanish announce table.  Mean Jack hugged the side of the ring to stay hidden.  He then choked and viciously eye raked Tornado before bolting through the crowd.  Scooter J made the quick cover and got the 1-2-3.  The champs retain their belts with this victory.  Scooter J went to check on Tornado while TNT checked on El Dragon.  Both men were slow to get up but still seemed to be ok.  The champs invited the Flyers into the ring and shook their hands.  The champs then held up the arms of the Flyers as the show comes to an end.

We are sure there will be some serious fallout from this match and the closer we get to the PPV, more and more matches will be finalized.  Stay Tuned.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #744 – Phoenix Heat (01/30)

Hello fans and welcome back to another episode of HCW’s Phoenix Heat. 

Well, the proverbial sh!t has hit the fan.  We start off in the office of GM Master Bull.  Master Bull is livid.  He is there with Tacoma’s GM Max McGillicutty.  Bull claims that Apollo is plotting to kill him and tells Max he wants him fired immediately.  Max says that he’s watched it about 10 times and says that he can’t tell if the second guy is Apollo or not.  “Who else uses that stupid-ass catchphrase?”  Bull asks.  Max says he’s not convinced and will bring in HCW’s very own forensic investigator Gardinia Blue to look into it.  Bull agrees.

Pyro goes off and out show is ready to go.  Tonight, we have some great matches lined up for you with our main event seeing the TV title defended by champion Davis ‘the Hoff’ Hoffmeister. 

The bell rings signaling the beginning of our first match.  First, the duo of Angry Jack Lawson and Mean Jack Mason make their way out to booing from the crowd.  They retaliate against the fans by stealing signs and tearing them into many pieces and laugh at everyone who seems sad.  They get in the ring and the booing intensifies.  Next, the music changes and out comes the Ryzing Storm – Travis ‘Dark Storm’ Ryzing and his brother Terra Ryzing.  The fans boo them just a hair less.  This one is a challenge for the Storm’s spot in the tag team line up.  As soon as the Storm hit the ring they got hit, nay, clobbered, nay again, destroyed by the Jack’s.  Angry Jack and Mean Jack annihilated the Storm beating the holy hell out of them.  After 5 minutes, it seemed that the Jack’s were just toying with them.  They took their time and once they had their fun, 17 minutes after the start of the match, Mean Jack hits an overhead belly to belly suplex on Travis and gets the easy 1-2-3.  Angry Jack and Mean Jack get the win and move up in the rankings.  After the match, Mean Jack throws out a challenge to the Mexicali Flyers for their spot.  (17 min)

Tobias and Niven Snake are backstage and run into the Muscles Trio.  After a bit of banter, the Snake Pit challenged the Trio to a match.  Muscles McGuire noticed that it would be 3 to 2.  Niven said they could deal with that and the challenge was accepted.

Next up, ‘Rowdy’ Roderick Rothchild makes his way out with his manager the Ambassador.  The duo are booed as they head to the ring.  Keeping with the heel antics, Roderick grabs signs from the fans and tore them up.  Roderick got in the ring and began showing off irritating the fans all the more.  The music changed and out comes ‘Red Hot’ Lucas Johnston.  The fans explode with cheers as Lucas makes his way down to the ring.  He shakes the fans hands as he makes a lap around the ring.  He gets back in and watches Roderick to make sure nothing funny happens.  The bell rings and kicks this one off.   The Ambassador got involved early on clubbing Lucas with his cane.  The early advantage went to Roderick and he gained more control each time the Ambassador stuck his nose into the match.  After 10 minutes, Lucas began to battle back and stunned Roderick with some quick hitting moves.  The next thing we knew, we were approaching the time limit.  Lucas kicked it into high gear and hit Roderick with a Flying Dropkick twice before attempting a pin.  The Ambassador pulled Roderick out of the ring to break up the pin.  Roderick rolled back in a few moments later and Lucas with the Rothchild Stunner.  Lucas fell down by the ropes but as soon as Roderick went for the pin, Lucas got his foot on the ropes but the Ambassador was quick to knock it off before the ref saw it. The ref counted to 3 and with barely seconds left in the match, Roderick gets the win much to the dismay of the fans.  Roderick laughed all the way to the back.  Lucas followed moments later.  (20 min)

Tommy Lightning is backstage being interviewed and he says that Starbuck Steel is just like all the others – he uses people and then discards them.  Buzz Steel and Biceps Bannerman – they are all rotten to the core.  Tommy says that Starbuck lost the #1 spot not because of his interference but because he’s just not that good.  The Banker, just like many others, is that much better.  Starbuck can go cry over spilled milk as he’s done with them and moving on.

It’s back to the ring for our handicap match.  First, Tobias and Niven Snake make their way out to the ring to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Next, the Muscles Trio come out wearing their rainbow colored bull horns and their boxes of ‘Booty O’s” cereal.  They interact with the fans which gets them over.  They head to the ring and the match begins almost automatically.  The Snake Pit easily controlled the match for the first 7 minutes but then the Muscles got into a rhythm and the numbers eventually took its toll on the Pit and after consecutive triple teaming, Niven gets hit with an overhead suplex by Thorpe at the 22 minute mark and that was it for the Pit.  The Muscles Trio get the win and the fans pop for them.  They celebrate with the fans and then depart.

We head backstage and the Wicked Prophet has made his way down to the oven that is Phoenix.  He calls Jacques Beannot “Jaques Be-Nobody” and a coward for continuing to attack him from behind instead of face to face.  He’s lucky that he is not here in Phoenix tonight or he would have words for him.  Wicked Prophet says that he was not able to make it on to tonight’s card so he is going to go set up a table and sign some autographs for the fans (this got a pop from the crowd).

We head back to the ring for the next match.  First, Bob ‘Powder’ Keg comes out and gets a decent pop from the crowd.  Next, Tommy Lightning comes out and the fans boo him.  He seems put off by it and can’t seem to comprehend why the fans are booing him.  He gets in the ring and tries to attack Bob but the Kegster immediately hits the Powder Keg and goes right for the pin but Tommy kicks out at one.  Tommy tried to lock in an abdominal stretch but Bob nullified it.  Tommy hits the ropes but does nothing.  Bob rears back for a closed fist punch buy Tommy reverses it and goes for a front chancery but Bob reverses it and drops Tommy with a DDT.  Tommy stuns Bob with an elbow smash.  Just then, Starbuck Steel made his way out and Tommy stopped to jawjack with him.  Starbuck kept his distance from the ring and just stood there.  Tommy invited him into the ring but Starbuck stood his ground.  Tommy scoffed at Starbuck and turned around only to be scooped up and planted in the middle of the ring by a powerslam.  Bob hooked the leg and got the 1-2-3.  Bob ‘Powder’ Keg gets the win and the fans pop.  Starbuck smiles and walks away.  Bob made his way to the back and Tommy stewed in the ring a bit before leaving.  (6 min)

The Regulators Mammoth and Mule are backstage talking about Mammoth’s upcoming shot at the TV title tonight.  Mammoth says that he has this on in the bag and the Regulators will once again have gold among them.  Mule says that if he wants, he will be in his partner’s corner.  Mammoth says he’s got this and thanks his partner for having his back. 

We head to the ring for the next match and over the loudspeakers blares “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE” and out comes the evil vampire bot Dr. Red Fang.  Fang makes his way down to the ring and grabs a sign from a fan but instead of tearing it up with his hands, he starts taking bites out of it and then hands it back.  He gets in the ring snarling and growling at the fans but as soon as the familiar ringing of the bell sounds, we know that the King of Cones Magnum Kone is coming. The fans pop and the ice cream man turned wrestler makes his way down to the ring distributing treats to the kids at ringside.  He is in the process of completing this when Fang attacks him from behind.  The two men brawled around the ring and finally took the action back to the squared circle.  The two fought tooth and nail and it was apparent that pins and submissions were not really what they were after.  Fang would take the lead a few times but the King of Cones was right there with him and later on, took over control of the match.   18 minutes in, Magnum hits the Popsicle (piledriver) and goes for the first pin of the night.  Fang gets his foot on the ropes.  Fang tries for a Transylvania Piledriver of his own but Magnum nullifies it.  In the last few seconds of the match, Fang hits the skull crusher but the bell rings before he could attempt a cover.  This one goes to a draw finish but neither man were done.  The two then fought all the way to the back.  (20 min draw).  The referee had to bring the portable ice cream truck to the back with him.

TV Champion Davis Hoffmeister says that Regulator Mammoth is a tough competitor but when it comes to a tough individual, none can compare to the Hoff.  He says he’ll give it his all tonight and says he plans to send the fans home happy.

It’s time for our Main Event.  First, the Regulators Mammoth and Mule make their way out to a small pop from the crowd.  Mammoth enters the ring and Mule goes to sit at commentary.  Next, the music changes and the fans explode as the TV Champion Davis Hoffmeister makes his way out.  He high fives with some of the fans as he make his way down to the ring.  He takes a lap around before entering.  Once in the ring, he climbs the turnbuckle holding his title high as the fans applaud.  He jumps down and hands the title to the ref.  The bell then rings.  The match was pretty close throughout its run but the champ was clearly in control of the majority of it.  Things got a little dicey for Davis when Mammoth hit a Regulator Smash and Davis barely kicked out at the last possible moment.  Davis would then battle back hitting a roundhouse kick.   Mammoth hit an inverted superplex but Davis bodyslammed him hard in the middle of the ring.  Davis was on his feet first and as Mammoth got up, Davis dropped him with a piledriver.  He made the cover and got the 1-2-3.  The fans pop as Davis retains his title.  Davis went over and helped Mammoth to his feet and shook hands.  Mammoth then left leaving Davis in the ring to celebrate with the fans as the show comes to an end.
