HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2018 #695 – Phoenix Heat

Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of HCW’s Phoenix Heat.   The show begins backstage with GM Master Bull arriving and heading to his office.  He is cut off by crony Emmett Millbarge.  Emmett asks Bull where he thinks he’s going.  “My office you dolt.  Now get out of my way.”  Emmett puts a hand up.  “Not so fast.  Actually, you aren’t needed here so go on and scoot on home little man.”   Bull gets right in Emmett’s face and grabs him by his shirt.  “You want to see this ‘little man’ kick your ass?”  Emmett asks “Was that a threat?  Oh my, I think I’ve been threatened.  Security!”  A handful of Phoenix’s finest walk over.  Emmett continues “Good people, this man just threatened me and I want him escorted off the premises.”  One of the police asks “He’s the general manager right?  I think he has a right to be here.”   Emmett puffs out his chest.  “I’M the one in charge here and I’m demanding he be removed from here.”  The officer states that Bull hasn’t done anything to warrant being removed.   Emmett then calls for an instant replay and its shown where Bull put his hands on Emmett.  The officer shakes his head.  “Master Bull, will you come with us please?”  Bull glared at Emmett and left with the officers.  After everyone was gone, Emmett exclaimed, “Well, that was easy.  One down, one to go (referring to Tacoma GM Max McGillicutty) and the show is OURS!”  He laughs as the segment ends and we head to the ring.

Pyro goes off and our first match begins.  Missy Chick makes her way out first to a decent pop from the crowd.  Next, Taylor Bella comes out and she is booed.  The match begins almost immediately and Taylor got in one good shot before Missy took control of the match.  Both women got in some good licks but Missy did her best to keep Taylor down.  Missy tried to wear down Taylor by slapping on a scissored armbar but Taylor made it to the ropes to break the hold.  Taylor came back with a sunset flip but only got a 2 count.  She hits a second sunset flip but Missy made it to the ropes to break the hold.  Missy then took Taylor off her feet and kept her on the defensive.  Taylor went to the ropes but didn’t do anything so Missy connected with a Missy Plex.  Missy makes the cover and gets the 3 count.  Missy gets the win and celebrates with the fans while Taylor leaves the ring in a huff.  (17 min)

Emmett confronts a few of the wrestlers backstage and asks who wants to skyrocket to stardom.  Tobias Snake, Angry Jack and Travis ‘Dark Storm’ Ryzing are the first to speak up.  Emmett says that they will all be in matches tonight and if they win, there may be some gold in their future.

We head back to the ring for our next match.  First, Muscles Thorpe comes out wearing his rainbow colored bull horns and his box of Booty-O’s cereal.  He laughs with the fans as he makes his way down to the ring.   His fun is cut short when the Ambassador and ‘The Elitist’ Reid Rothchild come out.  The fans boo them as they head to the ring.   Reid gets into the ring and begins to stretch.  Thorpe pulls out a handful of cereal and throws it laughingly at Reid.  That pissed him off and he attacked Thorpe.  Reid got in one good shot but then Thorpe began tossing Reid around like a ragdoll.  The Ambassador kept yelling to Reid trying to give him some instructions but Thorpe would rush over and the Ambassador had to keep backing off form the ring.  Thorpe then hits a rib breaker but then gets tossed out of the ring by Reid.  Reid, nursing his ribs, distracted the ref while the Ambassador blasted Thorpe with a steel chair. He then backed off and the ref began his count.  As soon as he hit 10 and it was apparent that Thorpe wasn’t going to make it back in, the bell rings and Reid scores a win via countout.  The Ambassador joins him in the ring and the two celebrate much to the dismay of the fans.  They eventually leave.  (7 ½ min)

The Undisputed World Champion ‘the Ragin Cajun’ King Rad Gumbo shows up with Queen Alexandria on his arm.  As they are making their way backstage, they are stopped by former champs Buzz and Starbuck Steel.  Starbuck says they have a great idea for the supershow.  Starbuck says that they should have a Triple Threat match for the title.  Gumbo asks why he should do that.  Buzz says that if Rad agrees and wins the match, neither he nor Starbuck will challenge for the World title while Rad is still champion.   Before Rad could answer, Emmett Millbarge walks over and says he thinks it’s a great idea and says that he will pencil that in for the Main Event at the Supershow.  Emmett walks off and Buzz and Starbuck eventually follow leaving Rad to say “What in the hell just happened?”

Our next match is ready to go.  First, Travis ‘Dark Storm’ Ryzing makes his way out to booing from the fans.  Next, Buzz Steel comes out and the fans flip out.  They seem to love this lovable lunk.  Buzz high fives the fans as he makes his way down into the ring.  Once in the ring, Buzz points to the back and then motions that he will soon be champion again.  For the first 5 minutes of the match, Buzz held Travis to two offensive moves.  He then opened a major can of whoopass and dominated the rest of the match until he finally decided he’d had enough and then dropped Travis with the Buzzkill.  Buzz goes for the pin and secures the 3 count.  Buzz gets the win and the fans pop huge for him.  He celebrates with the fans briefly at ringside and then makes his way to the back.  (14 min)

Millbarge is backstage and said he’s not happy so far with what he’s seen. He sees Angry Jack backstage and tells him that he’d better not let him down.  Jack walks over to him (towering over him) and says “Yeah?  And you’ll do what exactly?”  Emmett visibly gulped and then took a step back.  “Yeah, that’s what I thought.”  Jack then walked off.  Emmett, shaken, made a beeline for his office.

We head back to the ring for our next match.  First, Tobias Snake, one member of the Snake Pit, makes his way out first and he is gets a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Next, Texas Wildfire makes his way out and the fans pop huge for him. TW rushes down to the ring and slides into the ring under to bottom rope.  It doesn’t take long for the two of them to lock it up but Wildfire took the advantage early however the longer the match dragged on, the more of a comeback Tobias was making.  Wildfire went for a pin early on after locking in a standing armbar getting a one count and that is when Tobias make his run.  TW managed to control most of the match but Tobias kept on increasing the intensity.  TW began peppering Tobias with rapid fire punches and Tobias came back with a Lou Thesz press.   Tobias got up and began psyching himself up only to turn around into a bionic elbow from TW.  Wildfire went for the pin hooking the leg and got the 1-2-3.  Texas Wildfire gets the win and a huge pop from the crowd.  Tobias rolled out of the ring and made his way to the back.  TW followed a few moments later.  (17 min)

Sonic Blade is backstage and is confronted by Emmett.  He tells Sonic that he’s the lucky recipient taking on Angry Jack Lawson.  He laughs and walks off.  Sonic’s cell phone rings and he answers.  It’s Phoenix GM Master Bull and we hear Bull give Sonic some direction before ending the call just a few moments later.  Sonic looks around and makes his way out to the ring.

Sonic’s music hits and he makes his way out to the ring.  The fans pop for him as he makes his way down to the ring.  The music changes and out comes the angriest member of the HCW roster – ‘Angry’ Jack Lawson.  Pyro goes off and flames shoot out of the ringposts startling Sonic.  Lawson makes his way down to the ring and enters over the top rope.  He goes right on the offensive but Sonic stayed right there with him.  Jack kept trying to turn up the intensity but Sonic just kept going…and going…and going…right up to the 20 minute time limit.  When the bell rang bringing this one to a draw finish, Sonic still looked quite fresh while Jack looked like he spent everything in his tank.  Jack tried to raise his aggression level back up but felt it wasn’t worth the effort and he left the ring.  Sonic celebrated his draw with the fans and then eventually left.  (20 min draw)

In preparation for their upcoming match, Ivan Dragovich, Red McNulty and Wendell Hammerschmidt say that they’ve been overlooked for some time in trying to get this title match but tonight, they will persevere.  Wendell says it’s their time and tonight, those belts are leaving with them.

Also backstage cutting their own promo are the Six Man Tag team Champs – Regulation.  The Banker, Ruth Heartless and the Regulators Mule and Mammoth say that they are ready to defend their belts.  They will be up some rough and vicious opponents however they are nothing compared to the champs.  Ruth chimes in and says that teams can cry and complain all they want but the #1 team in HCW will hold these belts until they’re good and ready to let them go.  They then leave and head to the ring.

It’s time for our Main Event.  First, Ivan Dragovich, Red McNulty and Wendell Hammerschmidt all make their way out to the ring and are booed.  Next, the champs Regulation come out with their manager Ruth Heartless and they are booed even worse.  The Banker sneers at the fans as they make their way to the ring.  They don’t get much time in the way of showboating as the bell is rung pretty fast.   Ivan and his team took the advantage early when Wendell used a pair of handcuffs and cuffed Ruth Heartless away from the ring so that she would be a non-factor.  Ivan, Red and Wendell began to dominate the champs and it wasn’t until after the Banker made a hot tag to Regulator Mammoth that things changed.  Wendell got tagged in but immediately got caught in a sleeperhold.  The Banker and Regulator Mule then took out Ivan and Red and with no one to make the save, Wendell tapped out.  Regulation gets the win and retains their titles.  The show comes to an end with the champs and Ruth (who finally got freed) celebrated in the ring as the fans booed.  (6 min)

Stay tuned.  More action to follow.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2018 #694 – Tacoma Thunder

Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of HCW’s Tacoma Thunder.  The hostile takeover of HCW continues with billionaire Cushman Armitage trying to strong arm his way into taking over from the existing owners.  Armitage has been using not only his lackey Emmett Millbarge but managers such as ‘The Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher, Ant Graham and MJ to plant seeds within the roster which could swing the takeover into his favor.  With Preacher, Graham, MJ and Millbarge all sowing the seeds of insurrection with the promise of ‘glory’ in the future, it seems that nearly 50% of the roster appear to be backing Cushman.  If Armitage can get 51% of the roster behind him, he will have everything he needs to pull off the heist of the century.  Folks, if this happens, this will be worse than when Negronomicon took over the then HWF and CSWA but almost ran it into the ground due to mismanagement and he was a wrestler. Armitage has no background in wrestling and we fear what he may do if he takes control.

Our show begins with GM Max McGillicutty making his way into the building but he is stopped by Cushman Armitage and Emmett Millbarge.  Max says he’s going to his office and HE will be running tonight’s show.  Millbarge gets into his face and says that won’t be happening as he is holding a “writ of habeas corpus” and it’s preventing Max from being backstage tonight.  Max, frustrated, leaves the way he came.  Emmett says he’ll do the same thing to Master Bull in Phoenix and the old guard will make way for the new.

Our first match of the night is kicked off with tag team action. First, Outback Oscar and the Crocodile Hunter make their way out to a pop from the fans.  They make their way down and into the ring.  Next, manager MJ comes out as new music plays “It’s Smashing Time” and out comes the Smashers.  They are booed as they head down to the ring.  They immediately attack Croc and Oscar to kick this one off.  MJ gets involved early by eye gouging Oscar with peanut shells.  Oscar gets in an offensive shot before the Smashers double team him.  After the double team, Oscar makes the hot tag to Croc but as soon as he enters the ring, MJ trips him up at the ropes setting up Smasher #1 to hit the Steel Smasher.  He makes the cover and gets the win.  The Smashers are victorious and the fans boo as their music plays and MJ pumps his team up.  Everyone eventually leaves.  (6 min)

Backstage, Ruby Rose is being interviewed and she says that she won the #1 contenders match against Vanilla Zombie and she is officially challenging Ravishing Raquel for the title at the Supershow on 8/5.  When asked what she’ll do if/when she wins the Ladies title, Ruby said “I’ll be going to Disneyworld!”

Our next match is ready to go.  First, Protocide comes out to a pop from the crowd.  Next, ‘the Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher comes out and is followed by both Nix Anderson and Hardcore Hensen.  Anderson is in the match tonight but Hensen must be there for…moral support?  Hensen goes to sit at commentary.  Anderson is handed his ukulele and he tries to play and sing for the crowd but Protocide snatches it from him and as Nix is grabbing for it, Protocide hits Nix’s hand with the musical instrument.  He then discards it and as soon as the bell ring, Protocide slaps on the Super Soldier Test of Strength and Nix TAPS OUT.  Holy Crap that was fast!  Protocide gets the win in only 30 seconds.  He goes to leave but Hensen is there blocking his way.  Anderson gets on the mic and calls Protocide a cheater and demands a rematch right here and now.  Protocide shrugs his shoulders and returns to the ring.  Protocide takes early advantage and continues to work on Nix’s hand.  Nix manages to hit Protocide with the ukulele and goes for a pin but Protocide POWERS out of the pin attempt.  Nix is shocked.   The match continues with Protocide getting a pin attempt but Preacher got Nix’s foot on the ropes.   Preacher got involved slapping Protocide in the face and received a headbutt that knocked him off the apron.   Nix began strutting around the ring and Protocide locked in the Super Soldier Test of Strength but this time, Nix made it to the ropes to break the hold before he could quit.  Protocide hits an elbow smash but Nix hits the Acoustic Equalizer.  He hooks one of Protocide’s legs and gets both of his feet on the ropes for leverage and gets the 1-2-3.  Anderson immediately rolls out of the ring and is flanked by his manager and tag team partner who laugh at outsmarting Protocide.  Eventually, the ring is cleared. (12 min)

Backstage, the World Tag Team Champions are discussing Leon doing a singles match tonight. They are then approached by an interviewer who asks about them defending their tag titles.  El Chango comments that the Machines were supposed to get the next title shot.  Leon adds in “But their performance in the ring was so miserable that they don’t feel they should be next.”  All of a sudden, Davis ‘the Hoff’ Hoffmeister and Magnum Kone walk in and they say that if the Desperados need someone to fight, they are here now and ready.  Emmett Millbarge storms in saying that no one but him gets to make up matches.  He says he likes the idea of this but it won’t be tonight.  Emmett tells the 4 men to come back next week and they will have their match.  Emmett walks off.

Our next match begins with one half of the Tag Team Champions Leon Teremoto making his way down to the ring.  The fans pop for him.  Next, Billy Robbins makes his way out and the fans also pop for him.  Once in the ring, the two men shake hands and this one begins.  Leon controlled the pace of the match and it seemed that the longer it went on, tempers began to flare.  By the time 18 minutes had rolled around, both men were slugging it out in the ring.  Billy hits a flying bodypress but Leon immediately slaps on a side headlock. He then picks Billy up and hits a standing suplex holding Billy in the air for what seems like an eternity before bringing him crashing to the mat.  Leon was exhausted by this time and it took time for him to try to make the cover but the bell rang bringing this one to a draw finish.  Both men made it to their feet and looked like they wanted to continue but shook hands and then left.  (20 min draw)

Backstage, Mason the Mangler is with his manager and Mason issues a challenge tonight to ‘Red Hot’ Lucas Johnston for his spot in the Hardcore title lineup.   Mason says that Lucas has to accept or he’ll be laughed out of HCW.

Our in-ring action continues with the British Crippler making her way down to the ring first.  She comments on her return to HCW and how she’s put in a match against a newbie and how she cheated to win.  She demands that this time, she is given someone with a better pedigree.  Out comes Scarlett Phoenix.  Scarlett gets a huge pop as she heads down to the ring.  The British Crippler tries to attack but Scarlett was expecting it and fought back.  Scarlett took the match to the Crippler who could not believe she was being outsmarted.  She tried to leave the ring once but Scarlett rolled her back in.  The British Crippler rushed the ropes but Scarlett caught her with a flying dropkick.  Scarlett made the cover and got the 3 count.  Scarlett gets the win and immediately rolls out of the ring to avoid being attacked further.  The British Crippler began kicking the ropes in frustration and then eventually left.  (10 min)

Backstage, the Axe is talking with his tag team partner TNT.  Axe tells him that Scooter J is a bully who whines when he doesn’t get his way and then tries to put people into uncomfortable situations.  Axe tells him that he does not have to accept the stipulation that if he loses, he must retire.  TNT shakes his head and says that it is time for HIM to stand up to bullies and says that he will teach Scooter J a lesson he won’t soon forget.

The next match begins with Mason the Mangler and his manager Ant Graham making their way down to the ring.  Graham gets on the mic and says that since Lucas hasn’t responded, he must be a coward and afraid to fight the Mangler.  The music changes and out comes ‘Red Hot’ Lucas Johnston to a HUGE pop from the crowd.  Lucas rushes the ring and Mason and Graham bail.  Lucas says that he accepts and even wants this as no DQ.  Lucas controlled the match for the first few minutes but then Graham stuck his nose in and things went the Mangler’s way.  Graham continued to be a thorn in Lucas’ side until he decided he’d had enough and socked the manager a good one making him a non-factor for the rest of the match.  Lucas then began an offensive run but then Dr. Red Fang rushed out and he and Mason double teamed Lucas.  Since his is a no DQ match, there wasn’t anything the ref could do.  The two ghouls then set up Lucas and Mason hit a stiff piledriver in the middle of the ring.  Fang snarled at the fans and Mason made the cover securing the 3 count.  Mason gets the win and moves up in the rankings and Lucas moves down.  After the Ghouls collected their manager and left, Lucas made it to his feet and after getting what seemed like an even louder pop than when he came out, he made his way to the back to get his neck looked at.

Backstage, the US Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine is cutting a promo saying he’s looking forward to all challengers for his belt but tonight he gets to face Adam Jameson.  He puts Adam over as deserving the shot and looks forward to their match tonight.

Also backstage, Jacques Beannot is watching the promo and he turns away in disgust.  He almost runs right into ‘The Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher.  Preacher tells him that he is right in thinking that Drew is hiding from him as he knows what sort of threat he would be.  Preacher says he knows as he’s seen him up against both Nix and Hardcore Hensen.   Matt hands him a card and says that if he’s ever looking for a change in scenery, give him a call.  Preacher walks off but after a moment of pondering, Jacques drops the card and walks off too.

It is time for our main event.  First, Adam Jameson comes out to a decent pop from the crowd.  Next, the music changes and out comes the US champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine.  The pop Drew gets almost blows the roof off the place.  He makes his way down to the ring, nods to AJ and then climbs each of the turnbuckles to even louder pops from the crowd.  After his final crowd psyche up, Emmett Millbarge comes out and the fans boo.  Emmett says that he’s here to ensure that no funny stuff happens and he sits at commentary.  Drew controls the match from the get-go and has Adam on the ropes the majority of the time. Emmett then gets up and lambasts the ref for not calling Drew out on his illegal tactics.   AJ then hits a low blow on Drew and then hits the Adam Bomb.  He makes the cover and gets the 3 count.  Adam Jameson has just become the NEW US CHAMPION!!!  His celebration though is cut short when Jacques Beannot comes out and says that he is the rightful challenger and wants his title shot RIGHT NOW!

With that, the show comes to an end. Stay tuned as things continue to heat up.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2018 #693 – Phoenix Heat – the fallout continues

Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of HCW’s Phoenix Heat.  Well, the fallout does continue with billionaire Cushman Armitage and his lackey Emmett Millbarge showing up in Phoenix.  Cushman shows up backstage and meets up with Master Bull.  The billionaire tells him that his services won’t be needed for tonight as Emmett will take the show as Bull has prepared it and will run it tonight.  Bull tells him that he won’t be going anywhere as he’s planning on sticking around “just in case”.  Cushman tells him that there will be no need but if Bull has nothing better to do on a Wednesday evening well then, he can go find a crate to go sit on and watch how things are done.

Pyro goes off and the fans pop until Emmett Millbarge makes his way out.   The fans immediately turn sour.  Emmett introduces himself as the future GM and then asks the question “Why manage a retail store when you can manage TWO wrestling territories?  Tonight, Master Bull (gets a pop) set up the show and we’re going to still run with it as is but believe you me, there will be a changing of the guard and then watch out WWWWWWWWWE, we’re gunnin’ for you.”  Millbarge leaves and the fans actually pop when he decides to head to the back.

Our first match is ready to kick off.  Making her (latest) Phoenix roster debut is none other than the Duchess.  She comes out and the fans boo her.  Once in the ring, she flips them off. The music changes and out comes the former Ladies Champion Madame Jade.  The fans pop for her as she makes her way down to the ring.  Numerous fans are holding signs that read “Madame Jade is the real champion” and “Madame Jade got the Montreal screwjob treatment”.  She climbs into the ring and the Duchess immediately attacks her but Jade immediately fought her off and took the Duchess to school only letting her get in 2 moves during the first 5 minutes.  The schooling continued but the Duchess began using some underhanded tactics to get the upper hand.  The Duchess hit quite a few Hair Pull and toss and Jade finally got tired of it and dragged the Duchess face across the ringrope.  The Duchess fell into the middle of the ring screaming. Jade went over and hooked the leg and got the 3 count.  Madame Jade gets the win in dominating fashion.  She leaves to a pop from the crowd.  The Duchess yelled at the ref for the blatant illegal move but he ignored her.  She then socked him and walked off.  (13 min)

Backstage, Tacoma Thunder alum TNT entered Emmett’s (formerally Bull’s) office.  He says that Scooter J has been calling him harassing him and he asks to be added to the card tonight.  Emmett tells him that the card is full but, wait, Master Bull may have known this was coming so it was already penciled in.  Emmett says he’s not the bad guy everyone is making him out to be.  TNT just replies “I wouldn’t know about that…I just work here.”  He smiles and walks off.  Emmett looks at him quizzically.

Our next match is ready to go.  First, the Banker comes out accompanied by his manager Ruth Heartless.  He is booed.  The Banker whispers something to Ruth and she leaves the ring.  Next, Starbuck Steel comes out and the fans pop huge.  He makes his way down to the ring and upon entering, Ruth runs up behind him and hits him in the arm with a steel chair.  Starbuck is in a lot of pain. Ruth is then ejected from ringside.  She leaves smirking with the chair in hand.  The bell rings and the Banker hits Starbuck with the Foreclosure Frankensteiner.  Starbuck hits the Out of this World dropkick but the Banker drops him with a deposit diving DDT.  Starbuck hits the Buck U neckbreaker but injures his arm.   The Banker then slaps on the ATM fee armbar and wrenches it back to the point of breaking.  Starbuck has no choice but to tap out.  The Banker gets the win via submission.  He takes off laughing with another win under his belt.  Starbuck tries to shake off the numbness and makes his way to the back as the fans give him an appreciative pop.  (3 min)

Backstage in Emmett’s office, the Tag Team Champions El Chango and Leon Teremoto walk in and they request a match. Leon is sure to tell him that the belts are not on the line tonight.  Emmett says that they were already set to wrestle but he will make an adjustment.  If the Machines win, they are next in line for the tag team titles.

We are back to the ring for the next match. First, Texas Wildfire comes out and the fans pop huge for him.  He meets with fans and then enters the ring.  Next, the music changes and out comes the Ambassador followed out by ‘Rowdy’ Roderick Rothchild.  The two are booed as they head to the ring.  The match begins with Roderick hitting the Rothchild stunner.  Next, Texas Wildfire goes for a superplex but that is reversed and hitting an airplane spin for a near 2 count.  The match continues with Roderick dominating however TW stayed within arm’s reach.   Just as we entered the 10th minute of the match, TW hits a bionic elbow but Roderick hits the airplane spin again.  Roderick rolled TW up and put his feet on the ropes for extra leverage and that gave him enough tension to get the 3 count.   Roderick gets the win and celebrates with his manager briefly before leaving.  TW gets an appreciate pop from the crowd as he leaves.  (10 min)

Scooter J is backstage and says that it’s sad that TNT made the trip all the way here only to get his ass kicked.  TNT may have won in their last bout but that all changes tonight and he’ll show the youngster why he’s the Phoenix Phenomenon.

Back in the ring, the next match kicks off with the Machines (B & P) making their way out to a decent pop from the crowd.  Next, the Tag Team Champions the Desperados (El Chango and Leon Teremoto) come out to a nice pop from the crowd.  They waste no time in kicking this one off.  There really was no contest as the champs totally owned their challengers.   The fact that it went so long was a testament to the resilience of the challengers but beyond that, El Chango and Leon made it look pretty easy.  After going 27 whopping minutes, El Chango choose to end it after hitting a shooting star press on Machine P.  The champs dominate another match.  Leon hands El Chango one of the belts and the two get a nice pop from the crowd.   Leon takes a mic and says that they want a team to step up and give them a real challenge.  He says that the team of Davis Hoffmeister and Magnum Kone sound intriguing. The team of Nix Anderson and Hardcore Hensen also seems interesting but after being dispatched by Davis and Magnum, they don’t deserve anything.  Leon says that he has faith that management will find a suitable team when it comes time to defend their belts.  The champs leave.  (27 min)

Sonic Blade is backstage and he says that the TV champion and his manager have been dodging him making excuses to not defend the title against him.  Now that he has a shot, he’ll show them why they’ve been cautious in hiding from him but his time is now.

Our next match is up.  Scooter J comes out first and the fans boo him as he makes his way down to the ring.  He doesn’t seem to care.  Next, TNT comes out and the fans pop for him.  He makes his way down to the ring and high fives them before getting into the ring.  The bell rings and Scooter J hits the ropes hitting TNT with a dropkick. He goes for the pin but only gets a 1 count.  TNT tries to eye rake SJ but its reversed and SJ drops TNT with a clothesline. After a bit of back and forth, SJ hits TNT with a piledriver.  He goes for a pin but only gets a one count.  TNT begins an offensive run but SJ eye rakes him and tries for a pin but TNT was too close to the ropes.  SJ picks him up and chokes him on the ropes.  He slingshots him back into the ring.  He goes for the pin and hooks the tights and puts his feet on the ropes for leverage.  The ref counts 1…2…3.  Scooter J gets the win and he stands over TNT gloating and laughing.  He brushes off his shoulders and then says that they should have one final match with the loser leaving HCW.  He leans down and moving TNT’s mouth, he says “Yes, I’ll fight you” before walking away.  TNT eventually makes it to his feet and follows shortly thereafter.  (8 min)

The TV Champion the Unknown Assassin and his manager the Honorable JC Dykes comment about Sonic Blade and his asinine comments where he thinks that he’s anywhere on par with the champ but it’s good to dream however that dream comes to a crashing conclusion after the blade is dulled and gets his shoulders put to the mat for a three count.

It’s time for our main event.  First, Sonic Blade makes his way out and the fans pop huge for him.  He converses a bit with the fans and then rolls into the ring.  Next, manager JC Dykes comes out and the fans turn their noses up at him and what is sure to follow…the TV Champion the Unknown Assassin.  The duo are booed all the way to the ring.  As soon as the bell rings, the TV champ distracts the ref and Dykes grabs Sonic leg and pulls him down to the mat and into the corner.  He then wraps Sonic’s leg around the post not once but twice.  That knee isn’t looking good.  Sonic was on the defensive but managed somehow to hobble around on one leg.  UA then began blasting forearm shots to Sonic’s eardrums.    Just when it seemed like Sonic was about to make a comeback, Dykes blows on his whistle distracting everyone.  The Unknown Assassin slaps on a nerve pinch but Sonic makes it to the ropes.  UA then kicks Sonic’s leg out from underneath and he crumples to the mat holding the leg.  UA then began throwing English forearm strikes and then grabbed Sonic’s bum leg and got the 3 count.  The Unknown Assassin is victorious in another TV title defense.  He and Dykes stood tall in the ring.  Sonic rolled to the outside and with the help of the ref, made his way to the back.  Dykes and UA stood in the ring soaking in the venom being spewed at them by the fans.

Scooter J just finished a blistering promo about beating TNT. As the cameras leave, Master Bull comes in, "You don't get it, do you?" Bull says. "Get what?" SJ asks. "Templeton admires you. When his family left him here, and you beat the hell out of him. That little guy worked hard and then you gave him a break, remember? You took him as a partner and accepted him as an equal. Now, your Ego has put him here. In a win or go home match, in front of his family. I hope you're happy." And Bull storms out.

Emmett Millbarge comes out to the stage and announces that the taped part of the show is over and directs the cameras to stop rolling.  After the camera’s stopped running, Emmett began taunting the fans that they are booing the wrong people.  Emmett then says that he’s brought “Big Money” Ned Rhyerson III with him here and the fans will be in for a special treat.   Emmett then issues a challenge to anyone in the back who thinks he’s good enough to take on “Big Money” and one person does and it’s ‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger.  Winger says he’ll show this schmuck what a true superstar looks like.  Emmett sends him to the ring and then calls out “Big Money”.  Ned Rhyerson III comes out and the fans boo the crap out of him.   Ned makes his way to the ring and then enters through the ropes and stands nose to nose with Winger.   The bell rings and Winger goes to town but Rhyerson slowly begins a comeback.  Ned chokes Winger in the corner turning the tide in his favor.  We join the match at the 5 minute mark.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2018 #692 – Tacoma Thunder - PPV Fallout

Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of HCW’s Tacoma Thunder.  The Meltdown PPV on Wednesday was a huge success and we even had a surprise show up at the end.  After digging into it, we find out that one of the men is a Billionaire by the name of Cushman Armitage and with him is his right hand man Emmett Milbarge.  Apparently, Cushman has made a play to do a hostile buyout of HCW.  As I write this, HCW owners and (what amounts to) the board of directors have begun the fight to retain ownership of their property.  Even GM’s Max McGillicutty and Master Bull have been (temporarily) sidelined with Millbarge, err, “barging” in trying to manage HCW as a whole.   The first thing Millbarge does is to bring in the “face” who will represent what will be their new institution…a “superstar” who goes by the name of “Big Money” Nathan Edward ‘Ned’ Rhyerson III.   Emmett feels that one thing that surfaced at the PPV was the “true story” into the background of the Undisputed World Champion ‘the Ragin Cajun’ King Rad Gumbo.  Millbarge says that someone with that background cannot be champion but he is not going to just strip people of their belts just because he doesn’t like “the cut of their jib”; he’ll just make sure that the people he wants in control will be the ones representing in the future.

The show begins, not with pyro but with Millbarge making his way onto the stage.  He, of course, is booed.  “Listen you punks, HCW is now under new management and this laxidaizy way business has been done in the past is over.  Billionaire Cushman Armitage will take HCW to all new heights but in the process, he’ll want to be getting rid of dead weight he feels that is dragging the company down.”  He says that he’s had numerous conversations with managers Ant Graham, the manager of Graham’s Ghouls and “the Singapore Sensation” Matt Preacher (managing Hardcore Hensen and Nix Anderson) and feels that both teams have been forced into the background and he is not going to let that stand.   They do have a show to put on tonight and he’s going to let this one and the next Phoenix card stand as they were advertised however tonight, we will be introduced to “Big Money” in a match tonight.  Emmett, before leaving, reminds us that even the owners will “pay the price to the Billion Dollar Man.”  He laughs and walks off stage.

Our show kicks off with Ovaltine Jackson making his way down to the ring to a pop from the crowd.  Once in the ring, the music changes and we hear in a very deep voice “Big Money” and out comes the new guy “Big Money” Nathan Edward ‘Ned’ Rhyerson III.  The fans boo the crap out of this guy.  He flips them off as he makes his way to ringside.  He climbs in the ring and (mockingly) does the “Hogan Finger Point” at Ovaltine and that only gets the fans riled up all the more.  Ned takes off his jacket and the bell rings.  Ovaltine rushes in hitting a diving hurricanrana but Ned immediately hurls him to the outside.  He follows him out and repeatedly throws him into the steel steps.  Rhyerson rolls back in beating the count and Ovaltine ends up getting counted out.  Ned Rhyerson III gets the (cheap) win via countout in his first outing in HCW.  (1 min)  The fans boo him as he makes his way to the back.  Ovaltine is helped up by the ref and taken to the back.

It is announced that the Duchess is being moved to the Phoenix Roster and returning to Tacoma is the British Crippler.  She will be taking on the latest addition to the HCW roster.  That is up next.

Our next match begins with the British Crippler coming out and she makes her way to the ring to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Next, the newcomer comes out and as pyro and smoke fill the stage, she emerges from it and we get to see Violet Valkyrie zip lining her way down to the ring.  Wings from her costume expand and she slows down as she approaches the ring.  She then drops into the center of the ring and the fans pop for this.  She shows off a bit and then removes the wings and after nodding to her opponent, it looks like this one is ready to go.  2 minutes in, Violet locked in a triangle choke on the British Crippler but she stood up and carried her (pretty damn impressive) to the ropes to break the hold.  They traded blows and 4 minutes later, Violet tried for the triangle choke again but the Crippler once again made it to the ropes to break the hold  Both ladies traded suplexes and then needed a moment.  We join the match at the 8 minute mark.

The British Crippler (f) was pinned by Violet Valkyrie (f)!!!

Violet Valkyrie (f) wins with a RUNNING ONE-HANDED BULLDOG over The British Crippler (f)!!!

Violet Valkyrie gets the win and the fans pop huge for her.  She walks over and extends a hand to her opponent and the British Crippler looked up at her, sneered and then rolled out of the ring.  Violet stayed and celebrated with the fans briefly before leaving.

Backstage, ‘Red Hot’ Lucas Johnston says that as of late, he’s been sidelined with some nagging injuries but now he’s back to 100% and he’s ready to show the new guy Protocide some new moves and maybe he’ll continue his winning streak…or maybe not.

Our next match is ready to go and we hear “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE!” and out comes Dr. Red Fang accompanied by his manager Ant Graham.  The two make their way down to the ring and the fans boo the crap out of them.  Next, the music changes and out comes the Axe.  The fans pop for him as he makes his way down to the ring.   As soon as he entered the ring, Fang tried to attack but Axe scooped him up and held him waiting for the bell to ring.  As soon as it did, he delivered a devastating backbreaker.  Fang would battle back locking in a spider web lock but Axe wouldn’t tap.  Axe then rattled Fang’s teeth with a forearm uppercut.  Graham then got involved tripping Axe and he crashed head first into the steel post.  Fang dragged him towards the post where he wrapped Axe’s leg against the post.  Axe crawled back to the center of the ring but Fang was waiting for him and once again locked in the spider web lock.  This time, Axe couldn’t hold off and he ended up tapping out.  Dr. Red Fang gets with win via submission and Graham immediately calls for the rest of the Ghouls to come out (Mason the Mangler and Wolfman Keg) and they try to attack Axe but TNT and Superstar Chic Monroe come out for the save.  Graham and his Ghouls eventually leave the ring.  Axe is helped to his feet and is taken to the back to get that knee looked at.  (4 min)

Emmett Milbarge posted a notice on a board and then walked off.  Jacques Beannot and the US Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine walk over and see that Drew’s next US title opponent has been named but it is not Jacques.  Jacques questions why, when he’s the #1 contender, why he’s not getting the next shot.  Drew tells him that it is not his call but HCW management.  Jacques questions Drew on if it is that or if he’s hiding from him.  Jacques walks off.

Our next match on the card has Nix Anderson challenging Davis Hoffmeister for his spot in the TV title lineup.  Nix is making a run for that belt and Davis is standing in his way.  First, Nix Anderson comes out accompanied by his manager ‘The Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher.  Preacher is promising change in altitude when Nix skyrockets past Davis for the next coveted spot in the TV title top 10.  Next, the music changes and out comes Davis ‘the Hoff’ Hoffmeister.  The fans pop loud for him as he makes his way down to the ring.  Nix waited patiently (at the insistence of his manager) for Davis to do his thing.  Once the match began, Davis owned and controlled the tempo of the match until Preacher stepped up and bludgeoned Davis with a foreign object.  Nix then took over dragging Davis’ face across the ropes giving him a rope burn.  Nix tried a few times to go for a pin but Davis kept kicking out.  23 minutes in, Davis goes for a roundhouse kick but Nix reverses it and stops the action so that he can sing.  Oh boy.   Davis finally had enough and drove Nix back into the corner choking him.  Nix bounced back hitting the Nixinator.  Davis got back to his feet only to receive another ring rope face burn.  He then rolled Davis up and the ref counted (fast in our honest opinion) 1-2-3.  Nix Anderson gets the win and with that, he moves up in the TV title rankings and Davis moves down.  Nix and Preacher leave laughing showing that they outsmarted Davis once again.  (25 min)

We head backstage where Vanilla Zombie and Ruby Rose are having a heated conversation on who gets to challenge Ravishing Raquel next for the Ladies title.  Ruby suggests they settle it in the ring tonight.  Vanilla tilts her head and asks “why?” but Ruby shakes her head and walks off.  Vanilla cracks the ever so slightest of smiles.

The next match is ready to go and Protocide comes out first to a pop from the crowd.   He makes his way down to the ring and begins to psyche up the crowd.  Next, ‘Red Hot’ Lucas Johnston comes out and the crowd flips out.  He gets such a red hot reaction from this crowd that it’s just unbelievable.  He makes it to the ring and does his own thing getting the crowd psyched up.  After that was all done, the two men met in the middle of the ring and after a brief stare down, shook hands.  The bell then rings.  Lucas owned the entire match barely letting Protocide get in any offense (which is odd because in his previous matches, he controlled it all.  Protocide gets in two offensive moves before Lucas strapped in a reverse chinlock and turned it into a pin.  Lucas gets the 3 count and wins the match.  Lucas did his pop for the crowd and then walked over and extended his hand to Protocide.  Protocide accepted the offer and was helped to his feet.  He nodded to Lucas and then left.  Red Hot stayed and interacted with the fans for a few moments and then eventually left.  (8 min)

Hardcore Champion Hardcore Hensen is backstage with his manager ‘the Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher and Hensen spoke up before his manager could.  “This title is only granted to those who can prove they are worthy…and hardcore.  If you can’t handle the heat, you don’t enter the kitchen.  This maggot thinks he can take my title…he will be mistaken.”  Preacher reminds him that hardcore rules prevent him from being at ringside.  “So that means Graham won’t be either” Hensen responded.  “It will make things that much easier to show him why I’m HARDCORE!”

We head back to the ring for our next match.  Before the match could begin, Ladies Champion Ravishing Raquel comes out and she is booed.  She ignores them and goes to sit at commentary.   Vanilla Zombie comes out first and she gets a huge pop from the fans.  She passes by a growing group of fans wearing zombie-like makeup.  She makes it down to the ring and slides under the bottom rope.  She looks quizzically out at the fans.  The music changes and out comes Ruby Rose.  She gets a good pop from the fans and she high-fives them as she makes her way down to the ring.  She enters the ring and walks by Vanilla climbing the turnbuckles to louder and louder pops from the fans.  Finally, she’s ready to kick this one off to see who gets the next title shot at Raquel.  The two both glance over at Raquel and her title before locking up. Ruby held the slight advantage over Vanilla but she persevered.  Two minutes in, Ruby is whipped into the ropes and Vanilla hits a huge powerslam but only gets a 2 count.  Ruby battled but a few minutes later, Vanilla hit a huge chokeslam and got another 2 count.  The two kept duking it out until 9 minutes in, Ruby hits an inverted DDT and goes for a pin but Vanilla makes it to the ropes.  Vanilla makes it to her feet and hits Ruby with a headbutt.  Ruby comes back and hits the Red Wedding Facebuster.  She hooks the leg and gets the 3 count. Ruby gets the win and is now the next in line for a shot at the ladies title.  Raquel climbs in the ring and gets right in Ruby’s face holding the title a mere few inches from it.  As Ruby is distracted by Raquel, Vanilla blindsides her and hits her with the Soul Crusher.  Vanilla looks quizzically at Raquel and then backs off and leaves the ring.  Raquel leaves next and Ruby makes it to her feet and shakes the cobwebs away and makes her way to the back.  (10 min)

Emmett Millbarge is back in GM Max McGillicutty’s office.  He is joined by billionaire Cushman Armitage.  Armitage asks how Emmett thought the card went and he says that McGillicutty has a grasp on how to run a show but he’s lacking backbone to make the really tough decisions.  Armitage tells him that the two are heading to Phoenix mid-week to evaluate the Heat show.  Millbarge says he’s looking forward to running the whole kit and caboodle.

It’s time for our main event.  First, the challenger Wolfman Keg makes his way out accompanied by his manager Ant Graham.  They are booed as they make their way to ringside.  Next, we hear blaring over the loudspeakers “BECAUSE I’M HARDCORE!” and out comes Hardcore champion Hardcore Hensen accompanied by his manager Matt Preacher.  The champ is also booed but he ignores them.  The ref announces that this will be Brawl Games rules and then he sends both Preacher and Graham to the back.  Graham bitched and moaned but Preacher walked up behind him and bitch-slapped him across the head.  Graham stood there shocked and then eventually made his way backstage.  The match then began.  For ten minutes, the match had some back and forth but they were mostly evenly matched.  Keg then got in a few lucky shots but after that, Hensen controlled it all.  We join the match now at the 13 minute mark.
