Hello fans and
welcome to our latest installment of HCW’s Phoenix Heat. Today’s show is the final one before the PPV
coming this weekend. In two days, HCW
hosts the 2018 Hall of Fame introductions with CJ, the Fiend, Southern Belle
and the Caped Crusader rounding out this year’s class. Master Bull comes out and says that tonight,
he’s breaking a rule (he can as he’s a GM) and for one night, one team will
once again lace up the boots in a surprise match. He then provided us with the show lineup so
here is a preview of today’s show.

The first match
kicks off with Sarona Reiher making her way out to the ring. The fans give her a decent reaction. Next, Jazz Emmett comes out and she too gets a
decent pop from the crowd. Once both
ladies were in the ring, the bell sounded staring this one off. Sarona held her own for about 7 minutes but
then Jazz kicked it into higher gear.
She dominated the match but Sarona refused to give up. The match went the distance and in the final
moments, Jazz locks in a Straight Jacket choke but Sarona nails a powerbomb but
has nothing in the tank to make a pin.
The bell rings bringing this one to a time limit draw. Both ladies got an ovation from the crowd as
they left. (20 min draw)
Buzz Steel is
backstage being asked about his PPV match and he says that he knows he and
Starbuck will tear the house down but there will only be one winner. He did want to address the comments that
Gumbawumba made about him. He says that
Gumbo has lost his GM title and soon, he will lose face and become the laughing
stock of HCW. Once that happens, he will
be the one laughing the loudest.
Our next match is
ready to begin. First, Otto Ruthless
comes out and the fans boo him pretty, well, ruthlessly. Next, Sonic Blade comes out and the fans pop
for him. Otto tried to attack him but
Sonic held him off pretty well. Otto
hit the Ruthless Aggression and tried for a pin with a handful of tights but
the ref caught it and stopped the count.
Otto got upset with the ref and pushed him once. The ref warned him not to touch him again. Sonic used the distraction to hit the ropes
and blast Otto with a power clothesline.
Sonic made the cover and got the 3 count. Sonic Blade gets the win. The fans pop again for him as he heads to the
back. (13 min)
Backstage, the
Unknown Assassin and his manager the Honorable (or maybe not so honorable) J C
Dykes. Dykes tells everyone that UA is
ready for the PPV but asked for a warm up match before he heads to the PPV and
beats the crap out of Phat Sol. The
Unknown Assassin actually speaks up and says that a TLC match is right up his
alley and Phat will taste metal from the ladder, wood from the table and steel
from the chair that will leave tattoos all over him and he will know that, at
the end of their match, who the better man is.
Jesse California
comes out first to kick out the next match and he gets a pop just because of
who he’s taking on tonight. The music
changes and out comes Ruth Heartless and the Banker. The two are unusually quiet but once in the
ring, the Banker goes and takes a mic and then gets into Jesse’s face and yells
“DENIED”. He laughs and turns around to
get rid of the mic and briefcase and as soon as he turns back around, Jesse
begins peppering him with lefts and rights.
The Banker immediately battled back and owned the match. At the 7 minutes mark, Jesse exited the ring
and began hitting on Ruth. She wasn’t
swayed by his uber-suaveness and he ended up eating a sliding dropkick from the
Banker that sent him into the front row.
After that, The Banker opened up his can of whoop-ass and showed Jesse
what’s what. 3 minutes later, while on
the outside of the ring, The Banker reversed an arm whip and sent Jesse
crashing…right into Ruth. She went
down. The Banker was LIVID. He threw Jesse back in the ring and just destroyed
him. The Banker finally hit the Credit
Check Chop and that was it for Mr. California.
The Banker got the easy 3 count.
He immediately grabbed his briefcase and took out the stamp. He then began plastering Jessie with the word
“DENIED” all over his body. “Top Gun”
Justin Winger came out with a chair and he chased the Banker from the
ring. The Banker picked up his manager
and took her to the back. (18 min)
Backstage, Sonic
Blade is cleaning up from his match and in walks Pete Punsher. Pete comments that neither he nor Sonic, a
former World Champion, are not on the card as of yet. Sonic proposes that the two of them have a
match. Pete agreed. The two shook hands but Pete wouldn’t let
go. “I’m going to do whatever it takes
to win…just so you know.” Sonic nods and
replies “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
“Top Gun” Justin
Winger is still in the ring as his match was up next. J C Dykes comes out and introduces the
Unknown Assassin and the two wait as security comes out to line the ramp. The grumpy duo make it into the ring and
Winger tells them to bring it. The two
then slug it out for 8 minutes straight with neither backing down. At the 9th minutes, Dykes
distracted the ref and then the Banker ran down and got in one shot before
being unceremoniously dumped over the top rope. Embarrassed, he went to talk to Dykes. Dykes then handed him something that was kept
hidden from the camera. Winger continued
his beat down on UA until the Banker leapt up on the apron and threw a fireball
(that he got from Dykes) at Winger.
Winger was able to avoid most of the flash but got a little singed. The ref immediately disqualified the Unknown
Assassin for outside interference (oh, and throwing a fireball) and he and the
Banker began putting the boots to Winger.
Just then, Phat Sol ran down and he and Winger then cleared house. Phat and Justin then got huge pops from the
crowd as they stood tall and their PPV opponents backed up the ramp cursing
them and then eventually made their way backstage. Phat and Justin left shortly thereafter. (13 min)
Ant Graham and his
Ghouls (Dr. Red Fang, Mason the Mangler and Wolfman Keg) have a video aired
complaining that the Steel Curtain and Biceps Bannerman should not be teaming
together as it was a condition that if they lost to them, they had to
disband. Graham tells the Curtain and
Biceps that this will be the final time they team up so they’d best make the
best of it. The next time the 3 team up
for 6 man tag team action, Master Bull and HCW will be facing a lawsuit.
Our next match is
ready to go and Phat Sol comes out first to a loud pop from the crowd. As he makes his way down to the ring, the
Unknown Assassin runs up from behind and attacks him. Phat manages to fight him off and finds
sanctuary in the ring. Security comes
out and takes UA to the back. The ref
asks Phat if he is ok to continue and he says yes. Next, his opponent Hangman #3 comes out. He, yep, you guessed it, was booed all the
way down to the ring. Hangman #3 kept up
the pressure for about 6 minutes but then Phat got his mojo back and then took
the match to his opponent. Much to
Hangman #3’s credit, he managed to kick out, make it to the ropes or roll out
of the ring to avoid being pinned. He
kept Phat visibly frustrated which was his goal. Finally, the bell rings bringing this one to
a time limit draw. Phat stands up
nursing his side (after being kicked to the ribs) and the fans pop louder for
him than they did when he first came out.
He looks good and is ready for the PPV.

Master Bull meets
up with Dykes and the Unknown Assassin and tells them that he’s not all that
mad for the fireball or the last attack as it made for some great TV (and
showed the villains running away). Bull
tells them that their initial contract is getting ready to expire (before the
PPV actually) and says that if they want on the card, they need to sign the new
contract now. Dykes complains about not
having enough time to review it but he gives it a couple of looks over and has
UA sign it. Bull then hands them their
copy (he did it in triplicate) and says “Oh, by the way, effective immediately,
security will NOT be used to protect you to and from the ring anymore. That perk is now over.” Dykes tried to complain but Bull wouldn’t
hear it. Eventually, the Unknown
Assassin and J C Dykes leave.
It’s time for the
Main Event. First, the challengers the 5th
Column (Karl Braun, Baron von Blood and Oswald Zimmerman) come out and the
reception they receive from the fans was insane. The intensity of the booing was just off the
chart. Next, the music changes and out
comes Biceps Bannerman, Buzz Steel and the World Champion Starbuck Steel. The fans pop the loudest of the night for
this trio. They high five the fans as
they make their way down to the ring.
The 5th Column bail out of the ring and the Steel Curtain and
Biceps stand tall. The Column then
attack them and immediately go on an offensive run. The quick tags from the Steel Curtain and
Biceps kept a fresh man in the ring. At the
9 minute mark, Starbuck tags in Biceps for some double teaming but Oswald
catches Starbuck with the Flatliner.
Biceps picks him up and locks in the Biceps Crunch. Oswald wriggled until he got Biceps against
the ropes trying to break the hold. Biceps
had to release him but Starbuck is right there and he throws Oswald over the
top rope to the floor. Oswald calls to
his teammates and they decide to leave.
The Column ends up getting counted out which awards the match to the
Steel Curtain and Biceps via countout.
The show comes to
an end with the trio chatting with the fans at ringside.
Our Hall of Fame
Ceremony is only two days away and then this weekend will be the Critical Mass
PPV.
