HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2025 #1070 – 2/08

Hello wrestling fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.  We have a great card lined up.  The Sons of Anarchy will be in action as well as Steel Justice, Samoan Stomper Raku, Cara Loco and a Title match for the US title as the champion Zack Brown defends his title against Rex Rampage.  We will also get a contract signing between TV Champion Evan Stockwell who is putting his title on the line against the career of the Banker.  This one is going to be a slobber knocker.   Time permitting, Mr. X will get a match but don’t count on it.  Let’s get this show on the road.

We start our show back in the office of GM Max McGillicutty.  Max sets up a 6 man tag match between the New Sicilians/Salvatore Albano vs La Famiglia Marconi /Lou Albano III.  The fans pop at this announcement.

Match #1:  Steel Justice vs Doofus Covfefe and Waldo Winchester.

Music hits but no one comes from the back.  Everyone is confused until the camera pans to the crowd and we see Doofus and Waldo coming in from the crowd.  The fans are booing them mercilessly.  Doofus pushes his way through the crowd so he can present himself in front of everyone else. He has trouble getting over the barrier which gets a huge laugh from the crowd.  He finally gets his tubby self over the barrier and then yells at the commentators for making the “wall”.  They get in the ring but by now, the fans are popping as Steel Justice make their way out.  They interact with the fans and then get into the ring.  The bell rings and our match is ready to get underway.

Mike "the Voice" Johnson: "We're off to a fast start here as Kellyn Chrisari and Doofus Covfefe lock up. Both teams are bringing their A-game tonight!"

Kellyn 'The Raven Archer' Chrisari and Doofus Covfefe trade moves early on, with both wrestlers giving it their all. Chrisari and Justice execute a perfect double team, landing an Arrow Storm Kick and a Justice Dive to the outside. Covfefe barely makes it back into the ring at the count of nine.

Mike "the Voice" Johnson: "Covfefe took some serious punishment outside the ring, but he made it back just in time!"

Despite the early double-teaming, Covfefe manages to counter with a Power Clothesline, showing resilience. However, Kellyn and Justice continue their relentless double-teaming.

Johnny "the Hammer" Harris: "Covfefe is showing some fight, but can he maintain it with Chrisari and Justice working so well together?"

Chrisari and Justice stay on the offensive with an Eagle's Talon Slam and another Justice Dive. Covfefe is struggling to keep up.  Chrisari executes a Raven's Claw Neck Pinch, and Covfefe fails to defend himself effectively. Chrisari tags in Justice, keeping the momentum on their side.

Mike "the Voice" Johnson: "Teamwork is key here, and Chrisari and Justice are perfectly synchronized!"

Covfefe smothers Justice with his orange hair, temporarily turning the tide.  Despite Covfefe's attempt, Chrisari and Justice regain control, executing a Raven's Flight Body Press and a Skyhawk Soar Moonsault.

Mike "the Voice" Johnson: "Covfefe is taking a lot of hits, but where is his partner, Waldo?"

Chrisari and Justice maintain their dominance with a series of high-impact moves, including an Arrow Storm Kick and a Raven's Wing Chop. Covfefe absorbs all the punishment, refusing to tag in Waldo, wanting to be the gloryhog.

Johnny "the Hammer" Harris: "Doofus Covfefe's refusal to tag in Waldo is costing his team dearly! He wants all the glory, but it may be his downfall!"

Justice hits a Justice Dive to the outside and a Celestial Spiral Leg Drop, but Covfefe kicks out of the pin attempts.  Justice and Chrisari continue their relentless assault with a Heavenly Hammer DDT and a Raven's Claw Neck Pinch. Covfefe is showing signs of wear.

Mike "the Voice" Johnson: "Covfefe is barely hanging on! He needs to tag Waldo in, but his ego won't let him!"

Chrisari and Justice land a Sky High Suplex and an Arrow Storm Kick. Covfefe manages a Scoop Slam in return. Justice delivers a final Celestial Spiral Leg Drop, securing the pin and the victory for his team.

Johnny "the Hammer" Harris: "And that's it! Alex 'Skyhawk' Justice secures the win with the Celestial Spiral Leg Drop!"

Backstage:

[Dimly lit room. Cara Loco stands in a corner, head tilted, his breathing ragged. The camera flickers like a distorted nightmare. His voice is uneven, switching between low whispers and furious bursts.]

“Pain? PAIN?!”

(bitter laughter, echoing)

“You speak of pain like it’s something to fear… something to avoid… but me? No… I know pain. I’ve lived it. I’ve felt it crawl under my skin, twist in my veins, echo in my mind! I’m not afraid of it… I’m used to it… I welcome it!”

He steps forward, arms outstretched, daring, challenging.

“Hurt me! Cut me! Break me! It doesn’t matter! Pain isn’t a punishment… it’s a gift… a reminder that I’m still breathing… still standing… still HERE!”

His face twists into a wild grin, voice trembling with chaotic energy.

“Dark Dominion… you tried to break me… but all you did… was set me FREE! Now I don’t feel pain… I am pain! And soon… EVERYONE will feel it too! Chaos is here… madness is HERE… CARA LOCO is HERE!”

[Sudden static distortion. The screen cuts to black with echoing, distorted laughter.]

Match #2:  Mr. X vs ‘the Alaskan Wildman’ Jax Brenner.  Yeti costs Jax the match.

Jax Brenner and his manager Molly Mason come out first to a huge pop from the crowd.  Jax appears to be in a bad mood (I think that’s his normal expression).  He climbs into the ring and holds the ropes for Molly to join him.  The fans pop as he leans over the top rope with his arm raised high.  The fans change their tune when the diabolical Mr. X comes out.  He saunters out to the ring full of arrogance and enters the ring.

The match between 'The Alaskan Wildman' Jax Brenner and Mr. X was a hard-hitting contest that showcased both wrestlers' determination and skill.

Mike "the Voice" Johnson: "We're witnessing a fierce battle as Jax Brenner takes on Mr. X! Both men are here to prove a point tonight!"

Jax Brenner starts off strong, executing a Forearm Bludgeon and a Bigfoot Bomb (gutwrench powerbomb), leaving Mr. X struggling to keep up. Mr. X manages to land a Hip Roll and a Chop to the Chest, but Jax's relentless offense continues.

Johnny "the Hammer" Harris: "Jax Brenner is bringing the fight to Mr. X with everything he's got! This is pure power and determination!"

Despite Mr. X's attempts to fight back with moves like the Barefoot Kick and Polynesian Piledriver, Jax keeps the pressure on with a Sasquatch Squeeze and Knee Lift. The match is intense, with both competitors refusing to back down.

Mike "the Voice" Johnson: "This is an all-out war! Both Jax and Mr. X are giving it their all!"

As the match progresses, Mr. X starts to gain momentum with a series of Barefoot Kicks and Chops to the Chest. Jax fights back with a Towering Suplex and a Bodyslam, showing his resilience.  In a dramatic turn of events, Mr. X attempts a pin after a Polynesian Piledriver, but Jax kicks out, showcasing his toughness. The crowd is on the edge of their seats as the action reaches its climax.

Johnny "the Hammer" Harris: "Jax Brenner is not going down without a fight! This is incredible resilience!"

As the match continues, Mr. X throws Jax out of the ring. Just as Jax starts to get to his feet, the Hardcore Champion, the Yeti, storms the ring. With the referee distracted by Mr. X, the Yeti attacks Jax, delivering a vicious spear to Jax's midsection. The Yeti then rolls Jax back into the ring, ensuring his rival is down and out.

Mike "the Voice" Johnson: "What's this? The Yeti is here! He's attacking Jax Brenner while the ref is distracted!"

Johnny "the Hammer" Harris: "The Yeti just delivered a brutal barefoot kick to Jax's jaw! This is absolute chaos!"

Mr. X connects with another Barefoot Kick and gets the 1-2-3  finally securing the pin and victory over Jax Brenner.  Mr. X leaves the ring as the Yeti enters.  The Yeti stands tall over Jax Brenner, making a statement as the referee finally notices the aftermath. The crowd is left in shock and anticipation of what will come next in this heated rivalry.

Match #3:  Sterling Silverman vs Raku

Samoan Stomper Raku

Sterling ‘the Silicon Tycoon’ Silverman comes out first with Ruth Heartless and they are booed as they head to the ring.  Sterling jaw jacks with the fans before the music changed and out comes Samoan Stomper Raku.  Raku gets a pop from the crowd that he wasn’t expecting.  He makes his way to the ring and enters the ring.  He gives Sterling a menacing look and Sterling quickly exits the ring.  He confers with Ruth on the outside before heading back in.  Sterling gets right into Raku’s face and then Raku pushes Sterling into the corner.  Ruth quickly jumps on the apron distracting the ref.  Sterling delivers a low blow to Raku and then grabs Ruth’s briefcase and BLASTS Raku in the head with it.  Now normally, we would expect that to have no effect on him but this time it did.  Raku falls to the mat.  Sterling drops the case to the floor where it pops open and we see weights fall out (there must have been 25lbs worth).  Sterling yells to start the match and immediately locks in the Million Dollar Dream.  The ref rushes over and raises Raku’s arm once (it falls), a second time (falls again) and a third time (falls again).  The ref calls for the bell and awards the match to Raku by submission.  (30 seconds).  Ruth joins Sterling in the ring and they laugh as he holds his arms high.  He and Ruth exit the ring but then the ref notices the case on the floor and the weights that fell out of it.  He yells at Ruth and Sterling but they shrug it off and keep walking to the back.  Before they can go behind the curtain, GM Max McGillicutty comes out.  He tells Sterling he saw everything transpire and says he can’t reverse the ref’s decision but he CAN make another match.  He tells Sterling that he and Raku will meet in the ring tomorrow night and Ruth and the entire Million Dollar Alliance will be banned from ringside.  The fans pop and Sterling and Ruth are outraged.  Max smiles and walks off.  Ruth and Sterling storm to the back.  By this time, Raku, bleeding from the forehead, has made it to his feet and we can see he is going to open a can of Samoan Whoop Ass like no other.

Setting: Jax and Molly's dressing room after a match. The room is dimly lit, and the atmosphere is tense from the recent competition.

[Jax and Molly enter the dressing room, still catching their breath from the match. They are greeted by a stunning arrangement of blue and white roses placed on the vanity table. Molly's eyes widen as she sees the flowers and the card nestled among them.]

Molly: (Softly, with a smile) "Look at these... They’re beautiful."

[She picks up the card and reads it aloud.]

Molly: "These flowers pale in comparison to the beauty you possess. Signed, a secret admirer."

[Molly blushes, taken aback by the unexpected compliment, while Jax looks suspiciously at the flowers.]

Jax: (Narrowing his eyes) "Who sent these?"

Molly: (Still smiling) "I don't know, but it's sweet, isn't it?"

[Jax remains silent, a hint of jealousy creeping into his expression.]

Match #4:  Cara Loco vs Azrael w/Count Vlad

Count Vlad and Azrael, representing the Dark Dominion, come out and are booed all the way to the ring.  He gets into the ring but Vlad is quick to remind Azrael what happens when he is disrespected.  He tells Azrael that they broke (and created) Cara Loco and that he better not lose to the broken and worthless.  Cara Loco comes out and the fans pop as he looks quizzically around at the noise.  He makes his way to the ring and Vlad directs Azrael to attack him.

As Azrael rushes in for the attack, Cara Loco connects with a Running Basement Big Boot.  Azrael hits the Vengeance.  Cara Loco follows it up with short arm back elbow shots but Vlad jumps on the apron and slugs the ref getting disqualified.  Cara Loco gets the win via DQ.  Vlad and Azrael quickly leave; Vlad’s plan always in motion.  Cara Loco stood in the ring, unsatisfied, until he was attacked by the roly poly Doofus Covfefe.  Doofus stomps on Cara yelling at him for always sticking his nose in his business.  He bails out of the ring as Cara Loco recovers.  Cara Loco begins to chase him up the ramp (which is funny watching Doofus waddle up the ramp).  He makes it, barely escaping Cara Loco’s clutches.  Cara Loco looks to the audience again as they pop and he disappears behind the curtain.

Backstage, Jax Brenner is walking around very pissed off and Apollo Gyze bumps into him, refusing to apologize which sets up a match for tomorrow at the go home show.

Match #5:  Sons of Anarchy vs The Hubers.

The Hubers make their way out first to massive booing from the crowd.  After flipping off a few fans, they get in the ring.  As soon as the music changed, the fans booing turned into a huge pop as the Sons of Anarchy (Son of Drew and Son of Stache) make their way out. They shake hands with the fans and even sign a couple of autographs for kids.  One thing we just noticed is that those little kids are sitting in what was formerly known as the Lumber Lounge.  They get in the ring and each climb a corner turnbuckle eliciting an even louder pop from the crowd.  They step down and the match is ready to get underway.

Mike "the Voice" Johnson: "We're in for an electrifying tag team match tonight! Both teams are ready to bring their best."

The match kicks off with Son of Drew and Butch Huber exchanging powerful moves. Butch lands a Discus Lariat, gaining the early advantage over Son of Drew.

Johnny "the Hammer" Harris: "What a start! Butch Huber is laying down the law with that Discus Lariat!"

Butch tags in his brother Ferb, who continues to pressure Son of Drew with a Suicide Dive to the floor. Despite Son of Drew's efforts with an Armdrag Takedown, the Hubers maintain control.

Mike "the Voice" Johnson: "Ferb Huber is showing no mercy! This tag team is relentless."

Butch returns to the ring, executing another Discus Lariat, but Son of Drew fights back with The Lover Bomb, keeping the match competitive. The Hubers double team Son of Drew with a Catapult Hangman and Gator Roll, but Son of Drew manages to counter with a Handstand Headscissors.

Johnny "the Hammer" Harris: "Son of Drew is showing great resilience here! He's not going down without a fight."

After a series of intense exchanges, including a La Casita by Son of Drew and another Discus Lariat by Butch, Son of Drew tags in Son of Stache. Son of Stache brings a fresh burst of energy, delivering a Corkscrew Pescado and a Throw Out of Ring.

Mike "the Voice" Johnson: "Son of Stache is on fire! He's turning the tide for his team."

But the Hubers' teamwork remains strong. They double team Son of Stache with moves like a Sitout Powerbomb and a Big Boot. Ferb delivers a Superkick, while Butch lands another Gator Roll.  Despite Son of Stache's valiant efforts, including a Stetson Slam and The Handlebar Camel Clutch, the Hubers' coordinated attacks prove too much. Ferb executes a Sitout Scoop Slam Piledriver, pinning Son of Stache for the victory.

Mike "the Voice" Johnson: "And that's it! Ferb Huber secures the win with a Sitout Scoop Slam Piledriver!"

Johnny "the Hammer" Harris: "What a match! The Hubers' teamwork was impeccable tonight."

The Hubers celebrate their victory in the ring, with Butch and Ferb raising their arms in triumph. As they make their way backstage, the crowd's attention shifts to the entrance ramp.

Mike "the Voice" Johnson: "Hold on, what's happening now? It looks like we have some unexpected guests!"

Jack 'Timberfang' Lumber and Beastfang storm down the ramp, their eyes locked on the Sons of Drew and Stache, who are still recovering in the ring. Without hesitation, Timberfang and Beastfang slide into the ring and launch a vicious attack.

Johnny "the Hammer" Harris: "It's Jack Lumber and Beastfang! They're attacking the Sons! This is chaos!"

A fierce brawl ensues as Timberfang and Beastfang lay into the Sons with brutal strikes and powerful moves. The crowd erupts into a mix of boos and cheers as the two teams clash in the ring, refusing to back down.

Mike "the Voice" Johnson: "This is absolute bedlam! The Sons are fighting back, but Timberfang and Beastfang have the upper hand!"

Amidst the chaos, General Manager Max McGillicutty's music hits, and he strides out onto the stage, microphone in hand. The brawl momentarily pauses as all eyes turn to the GM.

Max McGillicutty: "Enough! Enough! This chaos needs to end right now!"

The crowd quiets down, and the wrestlers in the ring pause, breathing heavily and glaring at each other.

Max McGillicutty: "Timberfang, Beastfang, you want to make a statement? Well, you've got it. At the Warzone PPV, it will be Jack 'Timberfang' Lumber and Beastfang versus the Sons of Drew and Stache in a tag team match!"

The crowd erupts with excitement at the announcement, and the wrestlers in the ring exchange intense looks, knowing that their feud will reach its peak at the PPV.

Johnny "the Hammer" Harris: "What an announcement! These teams will settle their score at Warzone!"

Mike "the Voice" Johnson: "It's going to be an explosive tag team match! You won't want to miss it!"

The scene ends with the wrestlers still glaring at each other, the anticipation for the Warzone PPV match hanging thick in the air.  Eventually all members made their way to the back however Jack could not pass up the chance to berate the fans in the Lumber Lounge.  It’s crazy how he went from the most popular guy in HCW to one of the most hated.

Contract signing

Once the ring was cleared out, a table was set up.  Max makes his way out to a nice pop again and he has a piece of paper in his hand.  He gets into the ring and picks up a mic.

Max McGillicutty: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the official contract signing for the Television Championship match at Warzone! First, please welcome the challenger, The Banker!"

[The Banker's music hits, and he strides down the ramp with confidence, briefcase in hand. The crowd gives a mixed reaction as he enters the ring and takes a seat at the table.]

Mike "the Voice" Johnson: "The Banker is putting his career on the line for this match. This is high stakes!"

Johnny "the Hammer" Harris: "He's got everything to lose, but the Banker's determination is unmatched!"

[As the Banker's music fades, GM Max McGillicutty continues.]

Max McGillicutty: "And now, please welcome the Television Champion, Evan 'the Financial Maverick' Stockwell, accompanied by his manager, Ruth Heartless!"

[Stockwell's music blares through the speakers, and he makes his way to the ring, TV Championship belt over his shoulder. Ruth Heartless follows closely behind, smirking as the crowd boos them. Stockwell and Heartless enter the ring and take their seats across from the Banker.]

Mike "the Voice" Johnson: "Here comes the champion and his ever-manipulative manager, Ruth Heartless. This is sure to be an intense contract signing!"

Johnny "the Hammer" Harris: "Stockwell looks confident, but he knows the stakes are incredibly high!"

[Max McGillicutty hands the contract to the Banker, who takes a moment to glance over it before signing his name with a flourish. He then slides the contract across the table to Stockwell.  The Banker picks up the microphone.]

The Banker: "Stockwell, this isn't just about the title. This is about my career, my legacy. Come Warzone, you're going to see a side of me you've never seen before."

[Stockwell smirks and leans back in his chair, looking down his nose at the Banker.]

Evan 'the Financial Maverick' Stockwell: "Oh, please. Save the melodrama for someone who cares. The fact is, you are beneath me. Your career, your so-called legacy—it’s all meaningless compared to my reign as champion. Come Warzone, I won't just beat you; I will humiliate you."

[Ruth Heartless steps forward, looking directly at the Banker with a smug expression.]

Ruth Heartless: "Banker, let's not forget our history. I know every one of your weaknesses and every one of your dirty little secrets. You think you can stand up to Evan and me? You’re delusional. This match will be the final nail in the coffin of your pathetic career."

[As the tension in the ring builds, Max McGillicutty takes the contract and raises the microphone.]

Max McGillicutty: "Ladies and gentlemen, it's official! At Warzone, it will be Evan 'the Financial Maverick' Stockwell defending his Television Championship against the Banker, who has put his career on the line!"

[Just as the announcement is made, the Banker stands up and gets in Stockwell's face. Stockwell responds by shoving the table aside, and the two men start exchanging heated words. Ruth Heartless tries to intervene, but the situation escalates quickly.]

Mike "the Voice" Johnson: "It's getting heated in here! These two are ready to explode!"

Johnny "the Hammer" Harris: "I don't think this contract signing is going to end peacefully!"

[In a flash, the Banker throws a punch, and the ring erupts into chaos. Stockwell and the Banker brawl, trading punches and grappling. Ruth Heartless grabs a microphone and bashes it over the Banker's head, but the Banker fights back, sending Stockwell into the corner.]

[GM Max McGillicutty calls for security, and a swarm of officials rush into the ring to separate the two combatants. The crowd is on its feet, cheering and booing as the chaos unfolds.]

Mike "the Voice" Johnson: "Security is here to break this up! This is absolute pandemonium!"

Johnny "the Hammer" Harris: "The tension between these two is off the charts! Warzone can't come soon enough!"

[As security finally manages to separate Stockwell and the Banker, the two men continue to shout at each other, the intensity of their rivalry burning brighter than ever. The segment ends with both men being escorted out of the ring, leaving the audience eagerly anticipating their clash at Warzone.]

It is now time for our main event.  Rex Rampage makes his way out first to massive booing from the fans.  He power walks down to the ring and climbs in.  He motions that he is going to take the title.  The music changes and the fans pop HUGE for the US Champion Zack ‘the Commando’ Brown.  It appears to be the loudest pop of the night.  The champ stands on the stage and holds his title high.  He slings it over his shoulder and walks to the ring slapping hands with the fans.  He gets into the ring and while keeping an eye on Rex, he climbs the turnbuckle and holds the title high.  While that is going on, we see someone moving through the crowd.  Their face is obscured.   Friend or Foe or just someone walking around a wrestling arena with a mask on and a closed hoodie?  Guess we’ll find out soon enough.

Match #6:  The Main Event:  US Title Match:  Zack Brown vs Rex Rampage

Mike "the Voice" Johnson: "We're in for an intense battle as Zack 'Commando' Brown takes on Rex Rampage! Both men are ready to lay it all on the line tonight!"

[The match kicks off with Rex Rampage gaining an early advantage, executing The Rampage Stampede and nearly securing a pinfall. Zack Brown fights back with a Sniper Strike and a Bossman Slam, keeping the match competitive.]

Johnny "the Hammer" Harris: "What a start! Rex Rampage is looking dominant, but Zack Brown is showing he's not backing down!"

[As the match progresses, Zack gains momentum with a series of moves, including the K-9 Clutch, leaving Rex struggling to keep up. The crowd is fully engaged, sensing the high stakes of the match.]

Mike "the Voice" Johnson: "Zack Brown has got the K-9 Clutch locked in tight! Rex Rampage is in serious trouble!"

[Amidst the action, a masked, hooded figure makes their way through the crowd, drawing the audience's attention. Towards the end of the match, this person jumps the barrier and reveals themselves to be Col. Flagg, causing a stir among the fans.]

Johnny "the Hammer" Harris: "It's Col. Flagg! What's he doing here?"

[As Col. Flagg reveals himself, the referee, 'Honest' Abe, accidentally takes a bump, leaving him temporarily incapacitated. Flagg seizes the opportunity to assist Rex by grabbing a chair and aiming it at Zack.]

Mike "the Voice" Johnson: "The ref is down! Col. Flagg is trying to help Rex with a chair shot!"

[However, the plan backfires as Zack dodges the chair shot, causing Flagg to accidentally hit Rex instead. Seizing the moment, Zack takes Flagg out and hits  football tackle on Rex.]

Johnny "the Hammer" Harris: "Flagg's plan just backfired! Zack Brown is capitalizing on the chaos!"

[With the referee coming to, Zack goes for the pin and secures the victory as the ref counts to three. The crowd erupts in cheers as Zack stands tall, victorious.]

Mike "the Voice" Johnson: "Zack Brown wins! What an incredible turn of events!"

Johnny "the Hammer" Harris: "That backfired spectacularly for Col. Flagg and Rex Rampage! Zack Brown takes the win!"

[After the match, tensions boil over as Rex and Flagg have a heated argument up the ramp, blaming each other for the loss. Meanwhile, Zack stays in the ring, celebrating with the fans and soaking in the adulation.]

Mike "the Voice" Johnson: "Rex and Flagg are having words! This alliance is falling apart right before our eyes!"

Johnny "the Hammer" Harris: "But Zack Brown is celebrating with the fans, and rightfully so! What a match to close the show!"

The explosive show comes to an end.  Tomorrow night will be our ‘Go Home Show’ and then the next stop…Warzone – Darkness Rising.  Stay Tuned.
