HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2024 #1011

Hello fans and welcome to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.  On the card today, we will see Nightfang in singles action.  Jake Montrose and Talon McFrost are both winless in singles action.  Tonight, they will meet and the person who does not win will be out of HCW.  Penny Hall is winless in singles action and will take on Chloe Parker to see if she can change things around.  Steel Justice will take on the Smashers and the World Champion the Banker will defend his title tonight.  Before we begin, we have some comments from the World Champion.

The Banker (leaning against a steel locker, championship belt slung over his shoulder):

“Listen up, you pencil-pushers, number-crunchers, and spreadsheet aficionados! It’s me—the World Champion, the man who turns zeroes into millions and investments into gold. They call me The Banker, and I’ve got a message for all you wrestling wannabes.”

[He adjusts his cufflinks, the gold glinting in the dim backstage light]

“At Meltdown PPV, they’ve stacked the deck against me—a Fatal Four Way. Four hungry wolves circling the same carcass. But let me tell you something: I’m no lamb. I’m the bull market personified. And my stock? It’s soaring.”

[He smirks, running a hand through his slicked-back hair]

“First up, we’ve got Mr. X. Mysterious, elusive, and hiding behind that mask. But guess what, Mr. X? Your secrets won’t save you. I’ve audited your moves, and I’ve got your playbook. You’re just another line item on my balance sheet.”

[The Banker glances toward the shadows]

“Next, the so-called Wicked Prophet. Preaching doom and destruction? Please. I’ve seen worse in a quarterly report. Your dark prophecies won’t stop me from cashing in. I’ll turn your curses into dividends.”

[He leans in, his voice low and dangerous]

“And then there’s Jack Lumber. The man with an ax to grind—literally. But Jack, this ain’t a forest. It’s a wrestling ring. Your tree-chopping skills won’t fell The Banker. I’ve got more leverage than a Wall Street tycoon.”

[He pats the championship belt affectionately]

“So, bring your finishers, your high spots, your flashy moves. But remember, when you’re lying flat on your back, staring up at those arena lights, it’s not just a three-count you’re facing. It’s the interest accumulating on your failure.”

[He straightens his tie, smirking]

“Meltdown PPV? More like Meltdown for my opponents. The Banker’s open for business, and the market’s bullish. Invest wisely, my friends.”

And there you have it, folks. The Banker’s financial forecast for the Fatal Four Way. Tune in next week to see if he can balance the books or if someone else cashes in!

With that out of the way, let’s get right to the action.

Match #1:  Jake Montrose vs Talon McFrost.  The loser must leave HCW.

This match has some serious consequences at stake…a future in HCW.  Talon McFrost comes out first to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Once in the ring, ‘the Bounty Hunter’ Jake Montrose, a member of the Flaggship, came out next to heavy booing from the fans.  As soon as Col. Flagg joined him, the booing intensified.  The duo walked to the ring and Flagg immediately began barking orders.  The match began and Montrose held the advantage for the first few minutes but then McFrost began battling back giving the Bounty Hunter a real challenge.  In fact, Jake started getting worried the longer the match went on.  Flagg continued to bark at Jake and the ref but did not get physically involved.  We join the match at the 17 minute mark.

Match #2:  Penny Hall vs Chloe Parker: Penny tries to snap her losing streak.

Penny Hall makes her way out first to a decent pop from the crowd.  She tries to get the fans on her side but it seems lots of people are making their way to the concession stands during this match.  Penny notices and tells herself she is going to make them regret leaving during her match.  Chloe Parker comes out next and her reaction from the crowd is about the same.  The two ladies lock up and this one is quickly underway.

The HCW arena buzzed with anticipation. The air crackled with energy as the crowd settled into their seats, clutching foam fingers and homemade signs. But there was one wrestler who stood at the crossroads of fate: Penny Hall.

Penny, the perennial underdog, had yet to taste victory in singles competition. She was the one who trained harder, fought longer, and never gave up. But wins eluded her like sand slipping through her fingers.

Across the ring stood Chloe Parker, a seasoned competitor with a reputation for brutality. Chloe’s resume boasted rivalries, and a trail of broken opponents. She was the embodiment of ruthless efficiency—a force to be reckoned with.

The bell chimed, and the match ignited.

Chloe lunged, her boots pounding the canvas. Penny dodged, her instincts sharp. They grappled, each move a symphony of skill and desperation. Chloe’s DDT sent shockwaves through the ring, but Penny kicked out—a testament to her resilience.

The crowd roared. This wasn’t just a match; it was a collision of dreams. Chloe’s Flying Dropkick met Penny’s unwavering resolve. The mat trembled, and the fans leaned forward, eyes wide. They sensed it—the magic, the chemistry that transcended mere wrestling.

Penny rallied, executing a Piledriver that left Chloe dazed. But Chloe fought back, reversing Penny’s Superkick into a devastating Diving Shoulder Block. The near falls came in waves—the canvas groaning under their weight. Penny’s Demonic Driver met Chloe’s Hair Mare Mat Slam, and the arena held its breath.

The five-star rating wasn’t just about moves—it was about heart. Penny’s eyes locked onto Chloe’s, and they understood. This was their moment—the culmination of years of sacrifice, sweat, and setbacks. The fans who’d dashed to the concession stands missed out on history unfolding.

Chloe attempted a pin, but Penny kicked out. The crowd erupted, their cheers echoing off the rafters. Chloe’s Bulldog met Penny’s Double Stomp—a dance of agony and defiance. The mat bore witness to their struggle, their shared destiny.

As the clock ticked, Penny’s hair clung to her sweaty forehead. Chloe’s lip split, blood staining her teeth. They circled, two warriors bound by fate. Penny’s move—a Bulldog—sent Chloe crashing. But Chloe retaliated, executing a Penny for Your Thoughts—a last-ditch effort.  Penny had one shot left and executed a scoop power bodyslam.  She made the cover and finally got to witness a 1-2-3 in her favor.

The bell rang, and the arena erupted. Chloe staggered to her feet, Penny beside her. They locked eyes, bruised and battered. It wasn’t about wins or losses anymore. It was about the journey—the fight that defined them both.  A 5 start match…those fans who left missed a spectacular event.  The fans who stayed witnessed magic—the kind that transcended records and titles. As the lights dimmed, Penny and Chloe raised each other’s hands.  The fans erupted but both made a silent vow. They’d meet again, and destiny would decide if this was a fluke or if it was legit.

And so, the winless underdog and the battle-hardened veteran left the ring, their story etched in the annals of wrestling. The fans? They’d tell their grandkids about the night they missed out—the night Penny and Chloe painted the canvas with their dreams.

A fantastic finish is interrupted from a backstage brawl between Col Flagg and Zack Brown.  GM Max McGillicutty intervenes and states that they will have a match added to the PPV.

Match #3:  Steel Justice vs the Smashers

The Smashers come out first and are booed heavily and they steal the fans signs, tearing them up and throwing the debris back at them.  They get into the ring and continue to incite the fans.  The music changes and the fan favorites from the world of D&D make their way out.  Steel Justice, accompanied by their manager, the Shadow Master, emerge from behind the curtain to a loud pop from the crowd.  Kellyn Chrisari and Alex Justice wait as their pyro goes off and then head to the ring.  The Smashers, not ones to sit and wait, attack Steel Justice before the bell to get this one going.  SJ held the advantage for the first 3 minutes of the match but then after quite a bit of double teaming by the Smashers, they took over.  12 minutes later, SJ took back control of the match with the Shadow Master guiding their moves.  All it took with their manager pointing out their opponents weaknesses and they owned the rest of the match.  Smasher #2 had just been tagged in when Alex Justice caught him with a Winged Uppercut and he rolled him up for the 1-2-3.  Steel Justice gets the win and the crowd pops huge for them.  They are on their way to a future title shot for sure.  (22 min)

We get word again that yet another backstage altercation is taking place.  Although HCW Ladies Champion Luciana Albano was granted her request she not be booked for any shows until the Meltdown PPV, it turns out she shows up anyway and attacks Korbi Kong.  Korbi got in some good shots against the champion before security rushed in to break it up.  Max shows up again and tells Luciana and Pierre to leave the building.

Match #4:  Nightfang vs Ghee Buttersnaps

Next up, Ghee Buttersnaps makes his way out to a decent pop knowing who he will be up against.  Once in the ring, the music changes to a more ominous tone and we hear “The Night is our Canvas” and out comes Nightfang with his manager the Ambassador.

When Dr. Red Fang calls, Nightfang paints the canvas with dread. “Beware the shadow’s hunger”: Nightfang’s hunger isn’t for blood; it’s for victory. He feasts on opponents’ weaknesses, exploiting their fears and doubts.  He isn’t in this for gold; he’s all about delivering pain and suffering.  Nightfang’s loyalty lies with Dr. Red Fang. Together, they weave a tapestry of terror, leaving their mark on the wrestling world.  Nightfang’s words are cryptic, his movements elusive. When the moon rises, and the crowd holds its breath, Nightfang strikes—a phantom in the spotlight, a nightmare made real.

The Ambassador holds the ropes for Nightfang and once in the squared circle, he/it attacks.  Ghee put up a good fight but in the end, he was no match for the ferocity that Nightfang brought to the match.  After about 10 minutes, Nightfang was all about delivering punishment and pain.  When the Ambassador gave the word, Nightfang finally finished Ghee off with a Transylvanian Piledriver.  Nightfang gets the win but he wasn’t done and trapped Ghee in a Spider web lock.  Ovaltine Jackson, Ghee’s tag team partner rushed out to try to help but as soon as he made his way from behind the curtain, swooping in was Dr. Red Fang.  Fang immediately devastated Ovatine with a Vampire Lunge and then a Transylvanian Piledriver of his own.  He/it rolled Ovaltine in the ring and the Fangs of Despair stood tall over their broken opponents.  Security ran out but it was really just too late.  They did manage to prevent any further attacks on Ghee and Ovaltine.

Match #5:  The Main Event:  World Title match:  The Banker vs Bad News Marvin Barnes

“I’ve got some bad news for ya” echoes from the speakers and Bad News Marvin Barnes makes his way out to massive booing from the crowd.  He gets on the mic in the ring and tells the Banker that he should not be looking ahead to the PPV when he’s got the Bad Man from the Cenation to deal with.  The music changed and the World Champion comes out.  He actually gets a mixed reaction from the crowd until he tells them he is not doing this for the fans and they turn on him.  He seems fine with that.  He makes his way to the ring and upon entering, snatches the mic from Barnes’ hand.  “Trust me, I’m not only looking past you, you are just a stepping stone towards my dominance as a champion.   I’ll defeat you and then I’ll reign supreme in the Fatal Four Way and the Summer of ’24 will be known as the Banker’s Time.”  He drops the mic and hands his title to the ref who calls for the bell.

The Opening Salvo:

The Banker’s manicured hand sliced through the air—a Credit Check Chop that echoed like a financial reckoning.  “Bad News” Marvin Barnes absorbed the blow, his grimace hidden behind a mask of defiance. He’d faced worse—both in the ring and in life.

The Calculated Moves:

The Banker twisted, locking Marvin in an Interest Rate Inverted Facelock. His whispers were cold calculations—the kind that kept CEOs awake at night.  But Marvin retaliated, choking The Banker against the ropes. His grip tightened, a reminder that debts were paid in blood.  The Banker shifted tactics, applying an ATM Fee Armbar. The pain radiated through Marvin’s joints, but he refused to submit.

The Back-and-Forth:

The Banker’s Repossession Rib-Buster rattled Marvin’s ribs. Each impact was a foreclosure notice—a reminder that titles came at a cost.  Marvin reversed The Banker’s move, executing a Crossbow Cutter. The crowd gasped—their villain had teeth.  The Banker staggered, absorbing the punishment.

The Outside Interlude:

The Banker hurled Marvin out of the ring—a calculated move. The ref counted, but Marvin’s resolve held.  Marvin returned, executing a Diamond Dust—a glittering rebellion against fate.

The Final Stretch:

The Banker’s Credit Check Chop met Marvin’s Moonsault. The mat trembled, and the crowd chose sides.

The Banker’s smirk was a stock market surge. Marvin’s defiance was a market crash.

The Climax:

The Banker executed a Deposit Diving DDT. Marvin’s vision blurred, but he fought on.  Another Repossession Rib-Buster rocked Marvin. But he retaliated—a Hollywood Slam.  The Banker went for the pin but Marvin kicked out. The crowd’s pulse quickened.

The Final Bell:

The Banker’s final Deposit Diving DDT sealed the deal. The mat absorbed Marvin’s defiance.

The count—1…2…3. The Banker retained the title.

And so, the HCW World Championship remained in the hands of the calculating villain. The crowd cheered—their hearts torn between disdain and grudging respect. The Banker stood tall, the price of victory etched in his eyes.

A solid win by the Champion who has his eyes on the Fatal Four way in just under a month.  Anything can happen so stay tuned.
