Hello
fans and welcome to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter. Today, we start off with the HUGE news that HCW
turned 5 years old!!! It was back in
2016 when ‘the Board’ consisting of Vince McMahon (represented by his son in
law HHH and daughter Stephane McMahon), Cary Silken (Ring of Honor) and Dixie
Carter (TNA Wrestling) made the decision to sever ties with HWF and CSWA which
led to the creation of Heritage Championship Wrestling. While it was a missed opportunity for some,
it led to new talent, new storylines and most importantly, new fans.
To
kick off the show, GM Max McGillicutty comes out to a nice pop from the
fans. He introduces owners Mr. B and Mr.
M and they thank the fans for 5 great years supporting HCW. Streamers and balloons fall from the ceiling
as the spotlights zip around the arena.
Mr. B says that we wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for the fans. He extends his heartfelt thanks to those
sitting in these seats and those at home watching from around the world. Mr. M says that to kick off such a great show
is to have two title matches – the US Championship and the Ladies Title. He also offers his thanks to the fans for
their years of support. The fans pop
again as the trio wave and leave the stage so that this show can get underway.
Pyro
goes off once again signaling our show is ready to get underway. First, Billy Robbins makes his way out first
to a pop from the crowd. He makes his
way into the ring and gets ready for the action. The music changes and out comes the
Ambassador. The fans boo as Azrael makes
his way out. The booing intensifies as
he flips them off in annoyance. He and
the Ambassador make their way to the ring.
Azrael gets right in and immediately attacks Billy starting this one
off. The Ambassador keeps sticking his
nose in the match. Backstage, Biceps
Bannerman is watching the screen. He
starts to get pissed and takes off.

Ambassador is no longer available.
Azrael, pissed, begins to take out his frustrations on Billy. This goes on for a few minutes and we rejoin
the match at the 16 minute mark.

He heads right out of the ring to go look for his manager.
Backstage,
reporter Larry Morton sees Biceps Bannerman looking around boxes presumably
looking for the Ambassador. Biceps says
he wants to get his hands on the members of Devastation, Inc. and will do
whatever it takes to make that happen.
He then continues his search.
We
head back to the ring for our next match.
First, the Smashers come out to massive booing from the fans. They threaten to hit some of the louder fans
but show restraint at the last minute.
They get into the ring and continue to jaw jack with the crowd. Next, the music hits and out comes the
Freedom Fighters – Flash and Justice.
Before they could head to the ring, Smasher #1 gets on the mic and
starts to berate them and calls them losers just like the Steel Curtain. The fans booing intensified. Just then, music hit and out comes Buzz and
Starbuck Steel – the Steel Curtain.
Starbuck says that they’d be ok with it if the Fighters wanted the night
off. Buzz says they have some unfinished
business with the two “clown shoes” in the ring. Flash tells them “Have at it” and they
leave. The Steel Curtain head towards
the ring but stop short. Smasher #2 says
that they can’t just change the rules at the last second so if that’s the way
it’s going to be, they are challenging the Curtain for their spot in the Tag
Team Top 10. Buzz agrees. The Steel Curtain DOMINATED the Smashers. It was almost as if the Smashers are the ones
who decided not to be in this match. We
join the match at the 19 minute mark.

The
Steel Curtain get the dominating win and retain their spot in the Tag Team Top
10. Starbuck gets on the mic and warns
DD Double D Duo (Dash Woodbrick and Dennis Marshall) that they are coming for
them. After the Smashers left, the
Curtain remained behind to interact with the fans before leaving.
We
go backstage where Dennis Marshall is preparing for his shot at the US title
held by the Ragin Cajun King Rad Gumbo.
Dennis says he thinks he’s ready and will do what he can to ensure he
walks out with the title. He is then
interrupted by Dash Woodbrick who begins accusing Dennis of putting himself
before the team (and Dash). “Think about
it” Dash says as he walks away.
Next
up, is the 2nd match between these two opponents. Hayley Hailstorm comes out first to a nice
pop from the crowd. She shakes hands
with the fans as she makes her way to the ring.
Her music is abruptly shut off and out comes Sarona Reiher. Sarona has a mic in hand and warns Hayley she’d
better not cheat this time (she didn’t in their last match). Sarona is booed as she heads to the
ring. She climbs in and gets right into
Hayley’s face. She shoves Hayley to the
mat and Hayley is quick back on her feet and blasts Sarona with a right that
sends her to the mat. Sarona complains
about the closed fist and demands the ref disqualify her. Um, the match hasn’t even started yet. As soon as he bell rang, Hayley dominated the
match. Sarona had issues trying to keep
up but nothing helped. We join the match
at the 15 minute mark.

Hailstorm gets the win and the fans pop huge for her. Sarona, the sore loser, complains to the ref
that Hayley had a handful of tights (she did not). Sarona tried to attack Hayley from behind but
the ‘small but powerful’ hailstorm saw her coming and threw her over the top
rope to the floor. Sarona cursed at
Hayley as she backed up the ramp. Hayley
celebrated with the fans before heading to the back.
We
head backstage to get some words from the King of HCW and the US Champion Rad
Gumbo. Gumbo says that Dennis is a
worthy competitor as opposed to the scumbag that he’s tagging with (even HE
doesn’t like Dash). Rad tells Dennis to
bring his A-game as tonight, Dennis meets one of the best in HCW.
Our
next match is ready to get underway.
Music hits and the fans pop as one half of the Tag Team Champions Dennis
Marshall makes his way out. He waves to the
fans and begins his walk to the ring interacting with the fans. He enters the ring and climbs the corner
turnbuckle to a nice pop from the fans. The
music changes and the fans pop as we hear “GUMBO 730 MEANS ITS SUPPA TIME,
BITCH!” and out comes The Ragin Cajun King, Rad Gumbo. The US Champion is accompanied by his manager
Ms. Alexandria. They make their way
towards the ring and enter the ring. Rad
hands over his cape and crown and enters the ring. He climbs the turnbuckle and hold his title
high. The fans pop huge for him but
everything turns sour when Dash Woodbrick makes his way out. Dash saunters down to the ring and smirks at
Ms. Alexandria. He goes to sit at
commentary. Rad questions if Dennis is
trying to pull something but he confirms he had nothing to do with it. The bell rings and this one is ready to
go. Rad throws a “Keep your ASS out of
my ring” look and we begin. Dash’s
presence at ringside did more harm than good for Dennis. Dash kept trying to flirt with Ms. Alexandria
and that only caused Rad to get more upset with Dennis even though clearly it
wasn’t his fault. We join the match now
at the 19 minute mark.

her. This time, it seems like she’s
warming up to him. Dash goes in for the
kiss and Ms. Alexandria SLAPS him across the face so violently that it sent him
flying over the ringside barrier. The
fans popped huge.

Dennis Marshall rolled DC (he was distracted at what happened to
Dash). He turns around just as…

Rad walks over and extends his hand to Dennis. Dennis takes it and Rad helps him to his
feet. The two shake hands and Dennis
leaves leaving Rad to celebrate with the fans.
No one saw Dash leave so he must have slunk out of there.
We
head to the back where Queen Goldie Locks is being interviewed. She says that she’s honored to get this
change for the title. She said becoming
Queen of HCW hasn’t changed her and neither would winning the most prestigious title
in HCW. She thinks Violet is a great
champion and if she gets the opportunity to secure the win, she’ll be among the
greats.
Also
backstage is Ladies Champion Violet Valkyrie.
Violet says that she’s looking forward to meeting Goldie in the ring but
she demands to know what happened to Korbi Kong. Violet says that she will make sure Maxine
DeVito comes clean or she will make life for her miserable.
It’s
time for our main event. First, some
regal music plays and out comes the Queen of HCW Goldie Locks. Goldie waves to the fans and makes her way to
the ring. She climbs in and continues to
get the crowd excited for this match.
Next, the music changed and the fans pop probably the loudest of the
night as the Ladies Champion Violet Valkyrie comes running through a fog
covered stage. She stands on the stage
and looks to the crowd pointing at select fans.
She then rushes down to the ring and slides under the bottom rope. She climbs the turnbuckle and holds her title
high. She eventually steps down and
hands the title to the ref. She and
Goldie shake hands and the match begins.

helping the ref. She turned around to
see Maxine at ringside.

Maxine
then jumps into the ring trying to get in a sneak attack on Violet when music
hits and Korbi Kong comes running out.
Maxine’s eyes go all wide as she stands there frozen. Korbi slides into the ring bringing with her
a chair. She glares at Maxine holding
the chair. Goldie walks over and tries
to get her to set it down but Korbi turns and BLASTS her with it. WHAT THE HELL??? Violet comes over and Korbi turns to her
before dropping her with a chair shot to the head. Maxine stands there laughing and the audience
is stunned. Maxine gets on the mic
screaming “I broke you….I OWN you.” She
then begins to laugh maniacally as Violet and Goldie lay in the ring bleeding
from the chair shots. A young girl
sitting at ringside begins to cry after what Korbi did. The show comes to an end with Maxine
continuing to laugh her evil laugh and Korbi staring at the camera with dead
eyes.
