HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2020 #870 - (11/18)

Hello Wrestling Fans and welcome back to another episode of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.  On the show today, both the US Champion Rad Gumbo and the new World Champion Jack Lumber will be on hand to address their attackers from the last show.  Also, the Six Man Tag Team Champions will also be in action as well as the Hardcore Champion.

The show begins back in the office of the GM where ‘Sassy’ Maxine DeVito is still stewing after being outsmarted by Violet and Korbi last week.  She starts to plan on how she’ll be dealing with Violet for their upcoming match.  She mummers to herself “So Korbi will be banned from backstage so she’ll be a non-factor.  I want THIS referee for the match.  Looks Good.”  She then looks directly at the camera and states “Violet, you’re time is up” and then begins to cackle maniacally.  The camera fades out.

Pyro goes off and our first show is ready to kick off.  First, Tobias Snake comes out with his Snake Pit brothers Niven and Leiton.  They do a fist bump and Tobias makes his way to the ring to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  He gets into the ring and climbs the turnbuckles.  The music changes and the fans pop as the Hardcore Champion Biceps Bannerman makes his way out.  He walks to the ring like a man on a mission high-fiving the fans along the way.  He gets into the ring and it’s asked what the stipulation will be for this match.  Before the champ can respond, Tobias pulls out a coal miner’s glove.  I guess we have our answer.  The match was about as even as it could be with neither man never getting a leg up over the other.  Biceps started the match off with a spinebuster and a 2 count.  Biceps used the glove first hitting Tobias with a loaded glove low blow which doubled Tobias over but the challenger didn’t’ stay down as he must have been wearing some protection and he hits Biceps with a Hook and Ladder facebuster and almost got the 3 but Biceps got his foot on the bottom rope in the nick of time.   A few minutes later, Biceps trapped Tobias in the Biceps Crunch but Tobias wiggled out of it dropping the champ with a snap DDT.  The champ hits a loaded flying fist drop but Tobias hits the Dirty Deeds DDT.  Both men are down.  After a bit of slowness in the action (they have been beating the hell out of each other), Biceps mauls Tobias with a loaded glove getting the blood to start flowing.  Tobias manages to get Biceps to the top turnbuckle and attempts to hit a double underhook superplex but Biceps reverses it knocking Tobias to the mat.  Tobias hits the ropes and Biceps catches him hitting a spinebuster.  He makes the cover hooking the leg securely and gets the 1-2-3.  Biceps gets the win but as soon as his arm was raised in victory, he was attacked from behind by a masked man who pummeled Biceps with the coal miner’s glove giving him a crimson mask.  The masked man left abruptly.  Biceps had to be helped to the back.  (15 min)

Goldie Locks is backstage and says that she wants J9 in a match at the PPV and says that the winner will get to choose the stipulation for the PPV match.  She knows what she wants and waits to see what J9 responds with.

We head back to the ring and Phat Sol makes his way out first.  The fans pop as he makes his way down to the ring.  His music is cut short when Ivan Dragovich started to make his way out.  The fans boo as Ivan powerwalks to the ring flipping the fans off in the process.  He gets into the ring and immediately attacks Phat starting this one off.  Phat managed to take control early but then Ivan just began over powering him.  The relatively short match came to an end after Phat went for the Phat Phat, missed and Ivan hit him with a swinging side slam.  The forcibly leaned on Phat’s shoulders to keep him down and he got the 3 count.  Ivan gets the win much to the fans’ dismay.  Both men eventually made their way to the back.  (11 min)

Backstage, the US Champion Rad Gumbo has words for his attacker Madman Mason.  “Mason, mon ami, you tink you can just attack Le Champion and get away with it?  Dat’s not da way dis works.  You want to jump on dis Cajun?  You made da wrong choice.

Our next match begins with Betsy Cummings making her way out to the ring.  The fans boo her and she responds by flipping them off.  She gets in the ring and continues to mock the fans until the music changes and out comes Goldie Locks.  The fans give her a nice pop and she makes her way to the ring.  Betsy goes on the offensive before Goldie gets her jacket off but that attack doesn’t last long. Goldie goes toe to toe with Betsy until the 4 minute mark when Betsy is tossed out of the ring.  J9 is seen sneaking in through the crowd and hops the barrier still unseen.  She sneaks into the ring but miscalculates before attacking Goldie.  She was supposed to wait until the ref counted to 10 and counted Betsy out but she got in beforehand and the ref saw her hitting Goldie from behind and immediately disqualified Betsy for the outside interference.  Goldie recovers and hurls J9 from the ring.  J9 leaves cursing at Goldie.  Goldie interacts with the fans briefly before heading to the back.  (4 min win via DQ)

Backstage, Dash Woodbrick and his new pal Apollo Gyze are cutting a promo.  Dash says that once they win their match tonight, they will be the #1 contenders for the Tag Team belts.  Apollo tells Dash never to apologize for kicking someone’s ass…especially if they deserve it and their opponents tonight do deserve it.

We head back to the ring for our next match.  First, the team of Apollo Gyze and Dash Woodbrick make their way out to massive booing; probably the loudest of the night so far.  They make their way down to the ring and enter.  They do their best to ignore the fans.  The music changes and out comes Ghee Buttersnaps and Ovaltine Jackson.  The duo get a nice reception from the crowd as they head to the ring.  Apollo and Dash immediately attack but the ref gets control back early and starts the match officially.  The attack played into Dash and Apollo’s favor and they surprisingly owned the match.  Apollo and Dash probably could have ended it sooner but I think they were trying to send the champs a message.  Apollo hits Ovaltine with a sit out powerbomb and then tags Dash in.  Dash goes to the corner and begins stomping his foot on the mat.  The tempo picks up and then he nails Ovaltine with a superkick.  Dash makes the cover and gets the 1-2-3.  Dash and Apollo get the win and now are the number one contenders to the Tag belts.  A very impressive win and show from a team who has only teamed together one time.  (21 min)

We head back to the GM office and Maxine is clapping her hands for joy after seeing Dash and Apollo got their win.  “Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen” she says in her best Emperor Palpatine voice.  “Soon, very soon and I will have it all.”  She begins laughing that evil laugh of hers.  Man, she sure has become creepy as of late.

We go back to the ring for our next match.  First, Felicia Cummings comes out first and makes her way to the ring.  She doesn’t wait long as Hayley Hailstorm’s music hits but no one comes out immediately.  She finally does but she’s not wearing typical wrestling gear.  In fact, she’s actually dressed like the comic character ‘Warrior Nun Areala’.  Hayley gets on the mic and says she just came from a cosplay event but she’s here now.  Felicia sneers at her and attacks her to start the match.   Felicia dominated the match early but the ‘small but powerful’ Hailstorm took the fight to her unsuspecting opponent.  Felicia couldn’t stop the storm and after a Death Valley Driver, Hayley made the pin and got the 3 count.  Hayley gets the win and the fans pop huge as she has her arm raised in victory.  She celebrates with the fans before heading to the back.  (12 min)

We meet the World Champion Jack Lumber backstage.  Jack calls Prophet a coward for attacking him after he had just finished wrestling.  He tells the King that he hopes he brings his bag of tricks because Jack is going to turn them all on him and OWN him just like he did when he beat the false prophet for the title.  Jack is all serious when he says the words “Prophet, this lumberjack is going to turn you into sawdust.”  He then walks off.

It’s time for our main event.  First, the Muscle Trio come out wearing their rainbow colored bull horns and carrying boxes of their ‘Booty O’s’ cereal.  They goof around with the fans briefly before entering the ring.   They don’t get to do too much as the lights go dim and we see 3 single lit lanterns lightly illuminate the stage.  Out comes the Six Man Tag Team champions Otto Ruthless, Talon McFrost and Wilber Townsend.  The fans boo as the trio slowly make their way to the ring.  The champs get into the ring and the lights slowly come up.  We don’t have to wait long for the action as the match begins right away.  Wilber and company take early control but Otto ends up getting injured and is out of commission for 5 minutes early on.  About 15 minutes into the match, the Muscles Trio got Otto in the ring and continued to inflict punishment and not allowing him to tag out.  They kept distracting the ref beating the heels at their own game.  Otto remained in the ring for 14 minutes before making a hot tag to Talon.  Talon gets into the ring but then is triple teamed by the Trio.  Talon manages to lock McGuire in the Yukon Cloverleaf but a save from Weasley and Thorpe broke the hold and they hit Talon with a flying headscissors from Weasley, a belly to belly suplex from Thorpe and a diving crossbody from McGuire.  The bell then rang bringing this one to a draw finish.  The champs retain on a time limit draw and the fans weren’t happy with the turnout.  Wilber and crew grabbed their titles and made for the stage.  Wilber gets on the mic and says it doesn’t matter who takes them on…they will beat them all…including the Steel Curtain and their fat friend (not a nice thing to say about Biceps Bannerman).  The fans boo as they head backstage.  The Trio say at ringside with the fans as the show comes to an end.

That’s it for now.  Stay tuned.  More to come.
