HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #752 – Phoenix Heat (02/27)

Hello fans and welcome to another installment of HCW’s show Phoenix Heat.  There is a lot on tonight’s plate:  Texas Wildfire gets his automatic rematch against the Banker.  The Banker stole the match and the belt (paid off the ref) so GM Master Bull decreed that he gets that match tonight.  Also, forensic investigator Gardinia Blue announces who it was who made the threatening comments towards the Phoenix GM (Bull has his fingers crossed its Apollo). Also making an appearance for his coronation will be the new ‘Red Hot’ King Lucas Johnston.   We will also have an update on the Mexicali Flyers after the vicious attack by Angry Jack Lawson and Mean Jack Mason at the PPV.  Lastly, tonight, we have the debut of two new ladies wrestlers - Tempest Fortune and Sassy Maxine Devito.

Our show kicks off backstage when in walks the new King ‘Red Hot’ Lucas Johnston.  The fans pop as he makes his way backstage.  He then runs into one half of the World Tag Team Champions Scooter J.  SJ congratulations Lucas on the win and extends his hand.  Lucas is wary but takes the offered hand. As SJ turns to leave, he stops himself and reaches into his back pocket.  He pulled out an envelope and hands it to Lucas. SJ walked off.  Lucas makes to rip it in half, but opens it instead.  He pulls a letter out and reads it. Looking back in the direction SJ went, Lucas chuckles.

The letter is an invitation to a cook out. It is at Scooters place.  It will be SJ and his wife along with TNT and his girl. Lucas can bring a guest if he wants.

Pyro goes off and our first match of the evening kicks off.  Felicia Cummings makes her way out first accompanied by her twin Betsy.  The two ladies make their way down to the ring to booing from the crowd.  Once they made it to the ring, they began blasting the fans and then the music changed and out comes one of our newest hires Tempest Fortune.  She gets a nice pop from the crowd and takes time to shake hands as she makes her way down to the ring.  The Cummings Twins start laughing and mocking Tempest who does her best to ignore them.  The ref then sends Betsy to the back which elicited a pop from the crowd.  Betsy stormed to the back.  Felicia attacked her before the bell giving her a small lead but then Tempest, with the crowd solidly behind her, began taking the match to Felicia and totally ended up owning her.  Tempest would dominate the match and hit multiple high spots but she could not keep the crafty veteran down.  Felicia would use the ropes as well as exiting the ring to her advantage to keep from being totally owned.  Felicia did manage to hold on just long enough for the match to go to the 30 minute time limit.  As soon as the bell rang bringing this one to a draw finish, Felicia took off not wanting any more of Ms. Tempest Fortune.  The fans popped and Tempest stayed behind interacting with the fans before heading to the back.  (30 min draw)

We go backstage and see ‘The Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher.  Preacher comments that he has just signed to contract two individuals who have to finish their prior commitments but says that the world will be turned on its ear when they are revealed.

We head back to the ring for our next match.  First, Bob ‘Powder’ Keg makes his way out to a small pop from the crowd.  As soon as he entered the ring, we hear an annoying screech exit the speakers:  “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE” and out comes everyone’s least favorite vampire bot Dr. Red Fang.  Fang is booed as he makes his way down to the ring.  He growls and snarls at the fans as he passes by.  He entered the ring and attacked Bob but Bob was prepared.  The two went toe to toe for about 10 minutes but it wasn’t until Fang hit a Vampire Lunge that things began going his way.   Fang began hitting all kinds of moves trying to wear Bob down.  At the 17 minute mark, Fang dropkicked Bob out of the ring and Bob crashed into the ringside barrier.  Fang went out to retrieve him and threw him back in.  He went for a pin but only got a 2 count.  He then set up and executed a Transylvania piledriver.  Bob was out.  Fang made the cover and got the 1-2-3.  Dr. Red Fang gets the win much to the dismay of the fans.  The ref tried to raise Fang’s arm in victory and almost got bit for it.  Fang growled and snarled some more before leaving.  (18 min)

Backstage, Ravishing Raquel walks over to Hayley Hailstorm and says that she wants to apologize (unlike Apollo) and says she wants to replace the trophy she broke.  She hands Hayley a new trophy.  Hayley is ecstatic.  She gives Raquel a hug and then takes her trophy back to her dressing room.

And we’re back at ringside for our next matchup.  The other Cummings twin Betsy comes out for this match.  She, like her sister before, is booed and she mocks the fans as she makes her way to the ring. She doesn’t get much lambasting in before the music changed and out comes out other new hire Sassy Maxine DeVito.  Maxine gets a nice pop from the crowd and she high fives a few of the fans before making her way down into the ring.   Betsy goes right on the offensive but Maxine goes toe to toe with her.  Twice during the match, Felicia would poke her head out from the crowd and get involved in the match.  Maxine, to her credit, was able to continue to roll with the illegal activity.  Betsy did try to go for many pin attempts by grabbing a hold of the tights but Maxine kept kicking out.  Finally, Maxine had had enough and after hitting a hair pull snapmare, she rolled Betsy up and (taking a page out of her opponent’s handbook) grabbed a handful of tights which allowed her to get the 3 count.  Maxine DeVito is victorious in her debut match.  Betsy tried to complain but the ref ignored her.  Maxine left to a pop from the crowd.  Betsy followed shortly thereafter.  (21 min)

As we head backstage, we are treated to a promo from Angry Jack Lawson and Mean Jack Mason.  Mean Jack says “Mexicali Flyers, we are done with you.  You’re the entertainment of a ball in a cup”.  Angry Jack says “yeah, a specimen cup”.  Mean Jack continues: “Scooter J and TNT, all wait and no title shots makes us mean boys.  You better watch out.”

We head back to the ring for the next match.  First, the lights go dim and a single lantern lights up the stage.  Wilber Townsend is sitting there in his rocking chair.  He gets up and makes his way to the ring.  The fans mock him and he just laughs his maniacal laugh.  He gets into the ring and the lights slowly come up.  The music changes and we hear the all-to-familiar ring of a bell and out comes the ‘King of Cones’ Magnum Kone.  The fans pop as HCW’s resident ice cream distributor comes out and gives treats to the kids at ringside.  Once he was done, he made his way to enter the ring but stopped when he saw Wilber holding the ropes open for him.  Magnum reluctantly entered the ring and surprisingly, Wilber backed off.  The match began and Magnum controlled the entire pace of the match going for 2 pin attempts before 6 minutes had passed.  Magnum then scoop slammed Wilber but Wilber ran Magnum into the ringpost.  He went for a pin getting a 1 count.  A couple of minutes later, Wilber went to ram Magnum into the ringpost but Magnum reversed it and hit Wilber with the Firecracker.  Magnum hits the Choco Taco and slams Wilber to the mat.  He goes for the pin but only gets a 2 count.  Wilber gets up and connects with a lifting sideslam out of nowhere and he makes the cover and gets his feet on the ropes for leverage and gets the 3 count.  Wilber Townsend has stolen the win tonight but he laughs uncontrollably and smiles evilly as he leaves the ring.  (13 min)

We get an update from Master Bull.  He tells us that the Mexicali Flyers – El Dragon Insano and Tornado en Fuego are still in the hospital.  He says the good news is that they will be heading home this weekend and will make an appearance in Tacoma this Sunday.  The fans pop for the good news.

We also see former World Champion Texas Wildfire make his way in.  He is all business as he makes his way to his dressing room.  Before entering his room, he says that tonight, he regains what was stolen from him 3 days ago.  Tonight, the World title comes back to him.

The World Champion the Banker is backstage with his manager Ruth Heartless.  The Banker calls this all a sham and calls Wildfire a big crybaby.  Ruth says that she will do whatever it takes to ensure that the Banker is not robbed of something he so rightfully deserves.  They walk off heading to the ring.

We head back to the ring for the next match.  First, music hits and the fans pop as the Steel Curtain (Starbuck and Buzz Steel) come out and the fans are on their feet.  The fan favorites high five the fans and then rush down to the ring and slide under the ropes.  They begin to get the fans psyched up and their music is abruptly cut off and out comes Angry Jack Lawson and Mean Jack Mason.  The fans boo as the two bullies make their way down to the ring. They enter the ring and make like they’re going to attack but then back off and laugh.  The bell rings and this one is off.  The Steel Curtain managed to get the upper hand for most of the match even though the Jacks spent a lot of time double teaming in the ring.  The fight went on for a full 20 minutes and ended in a draw.  The final minute of the match saw all 4 men in the ring.  First, Mean Jack choked Starbuck with his boot.  Angry Jack then hit Buzz with a chokeslam.  Starbuck caught Angry Jack with a small package with a blatant handful of tights and Buzz recovered enough to catch Mean Jack with a German Suplex.  The Jacks left the ring and began to make their way to the back when Superquake Ferguson and Maximillian Redbeard come out to cut them off.  The Jacks began to backpedal and get cut off by the Steel Curtain.  They choose to not engage as they will only do it on their own terms so they take the long way around never taking their eyes off of Redbeard and Ferguson.  (20 min draw)

It is time for the coronation of the new King.  First, GM’s Max ‘McGillicutty and Master Bull make their way out to a pop from the crowd.  Bull announces that tonight, we will crown the new King officially.   Max pulls out the robe and crown from its garment bag.  Music hits and out comes ‘Red Hot’ Lucas Johnston.  The fans pop as the new King makes his way down to the ring.  Max introduces the world to HCW’s newest King…King Lucas Johnston.  Fans begin holding up signs that read “RHLJ4L” (Red Hot Lucas Johnston for life).  Lucas waves to the fans.  Max drapes the cape over Lucas’ shoulders.  Master Bull puts the crown on Lucas’ head and hands him the scepter.   The GM’s then leave allowing Lucas to enjoy his time.  As soon as the GM’s had left, there was a commotion in the crowd and into the ring snuck ‘Big Money’ Ned Rhyerson III.  Ned attacked Lucas while his back was turned and ended up locking him up with the Million Dollar Dream.  With Lucas unconscious, Ned drops him and then stands over him gloating.  He eventually leaves the ring.  Lucas is revived and helped to the back.

It is time for our main event which is a rematch for the World Title.  First, the challenger, the former champion Texas Wildfire comes out to a huge pop from the crowd.  Wildfire smiles at the warm reception from the fans and makes his way down to the ring.  He removes his jacket and is ready for action.  Next, the World Champion the Banker and his manager Ruth Heartless come out to booing from the crowd.  They begin the walk to the ring and the Banker sees a sign that reads “The Banker is a cheat” and he grabs it from the fan and tears it to pieces.  He climbs into the ring and holds the title high.  He turns and holds it in Wildfire’s face gloating.  He hands it to the ref and makes the mistake of turning his back on the former champ and Wildfire goes right after him.  Wildfire basically pummeled the champ beating him from corner to corner.  Ruth, however, was there to help “right things” for her man.  At the 13 minute mark, Wildfire dropped the Banker with a leaping DDT.  The ref went to check on the Banker and Ruth got up on the apron.  Wildfire went to confront her but when he got close, she grabbed the briefcase and smashed it into his ribs and midsection.  She dropped off the apron.  Wildfire dropped to the mat gasping for air.  The Banker got to his feet and hit the Repossession Rib Buster.  He made the cover and got the 1-2-3.  The Banker steals another win and gains the first victory of his title run.  He takes his title from the ref and he and Ruth head to the back.  The ref ends up helping Wildfire to the back. (14 min)

Gardinia Blue comes out saying she is going to reveal who the person is who made the threats to Master Bull.  She calls the GM out.  Bull comes out with some Phoenix Police officers.  Just as Gardinia is going to make the announcement, they are interrupted.

Reid Rothchild and Ravishing Raquel show up and make one last plea to Master Bull.  He says he can’t do anything.  Reid then announces that it was HIM who wanted to take Bull out.  Bull says “How could you?  After all I’ve done for you”.  Reid retaliates saying that Bull didn’t’ do anything and thinks Bull has lost his edge and became soft and when he was forced to wrestle in Tacoma, Bull made no attempt to bring him back down so he got was he deserved.  Bull calls for him to be arrested but Gardinia steps in and says no, it wasn’t him.   Reid and Raquel then leave.  Bull stops for a moment and his eyes go all wide and then exclaims “I KNEW IT…IT IS APOLLO!”  She shakes her head no.   She did say the person is on the HCW roster however hasn’t been seen or heard from in quite some time.  In fact, this person hasn’t been on HCW TV in a long time.  It was thought that this person’s contract had been properly terminated but something fell through the cracks and this person has been on the roster but not payroll.  She says that by not releasing this person from their contract, he’s been unable to get a job in wrestling and holds Master Bull 100% responsible.   Gardinia holds up the person’s contract and tears it up.  She says that the person is now free to go with the apologies from HCW.  Bull demands to know who it was.  Gardinia asks if they really need to reveal that now knowing it came because of an HCW error.  Bull demands again.  She dismisses the officers.  It is finally revealed that this person wanted to punish Bull for what he did to him.  She reveals the person to be…Pete Punsher – aka the PUN-isher.  Bull is flabbergasted.

Pete Punsher comes out and verbally blasts Master Bull for doing this to him and forcing him to beg on the street for food.  Pete says that he did try to call Master Bull (and HR) multiple times but his calls were never answered.  Free from his HCW contract, he holds up a new one and says that he has a new opportunity and he is going to follow Emmett Millbarge and Cushman Armitage to their new federation.  He gives Master Bull the birds and then leaves but before he’s totally gone, he drops a couple of puns.

1.  Why did the can crusher quit his job?  Because it was Soda-pressing.

2.  What did E.T.s mother say to him when he got home?  “Where on earth have you been?”

3.  What do you call the security outside of a Samsung store?  The Guardians of the Galaxy.

Pete turns and finally leaves.  Just as he begins to make his way to the back, we hear Bull mutter “Damn, I wish it was Apollo”.

Thanks for reading.  Action continues on Sunday in Tacoma.  Stay tuned.
