HCW Voltage – Opening Segment
Location: Dark Dominion Sanctuary – backstage, lit by crimson sconces and looming shadows
The camera opens with a slow pan through the eerie lair of the Dark Dominion—gargoyle statues flank the walls, ancient books rest on iron pedestals, and a low, ambient hum echoes in the background.
FWOOOOOM.
A wall torch ignites in a corridor of obsidian stone. Another. Then another. A slow, building flame path leads us through the dark sanctuary of the Dark Dominion. A chamber of iron arches and velvet-draped secrets waits at the center.
Empress Korbi Kong stands at attention in her majestic black-and-silver robe, Viperfang mask resting atop her head like a crown of terror. Across from her, towering and silent, is The Yeti, arms folded, breathing slow and deep like a dormant avalanche.
From behind a curtain of crimson velvet, Count Vlad steps forth—flawless in his tailored obsidian suit, eyes gleaming with cold confidence; every movement as smooth and deliberate as the stroke of a dagger. His dark tailored suit is spotless. His eyes gleam with that signature calm menace.
Count Vlad (with quiet precision):
“Korbi. Yeti. I must be away… for just a few days. Business of the highest order.”
He steps closer to them, lowering his voice as if speaking ancient truths.
Count Vlad:
“The Dominion must continue to move forward—unrelenting, undeniable. I leave it in your hands.”
Korbi bows her head, her tone calm but commanding.
Empress Korbi Kong:
“The Empress accepts this burden. There will be no hesitation. No mercy.”
The Yeti remains silent. A low growl builds in his chest. He gives a slow nod. That is enough.
Count Vlad steps between them, placing a gloved hand on each of their shoulders.
Count Vlad:
“I leave the Dark Dominion in your capable hands. The children of flame, the Fangs of Despair, the Dark Dominion in whole—they will all look to you now. You know the mission. Hold the line. Keep our enemies uncertain… and our allies obedient.”
He turns to the camera—breaking the fourth wall with a smirk so slight it nearly vanishes in shadow.
Count Vlad:
“HCW must continue to feel us… even when they do not see us.”
Without another word, he turns and walks through a corridor veiled in smoke. A black raven screeches from the rafters as the screen fades to black—then slams into the HCW Voltage opening credits, pulsing with fire and static.
Sam Duffy (voice-over during the credits):
“Count Vlad just handed over the reins, Rick—and with the Empress and the Yeti at the helm, things are only going to get darker on Voltage…”
Rick Granger:
“That’s not a passing of the torch, Sam. That’s the lighting of a funeral pyre.”
[HCW VOLTAGE OPENING CREDITS]
Cue the high-octane intro: industrial rock fused with synthwave blares as pyrotechnics light up the HCW Voltage stage. Blue lightning bolts streak across the screen as faces like Zack Brown, Scarlett Howl, The Wicked Prophet, Mina Harker, and Beastfang flash by in a rapid montage. The Voltage logo explodes into a shower of sparks, followed by the camera whipping around a sold-out arena packed with surging energy.
LIVE FROM THE COMMENTARY DESK
Camera cuts to the ringside table where Sam Duffy and Rick Granger stand grinning at the chaos about to unfold, headset mics ready.
Sam Duffy:
“Hello wrestling fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter—this is Voltage, and we are coming off a shocking Live Wire! I’m Sam Duffy—joined, as always, by the man who once tried to body slam a vending machine, Rick Granger—and tonight, the Iron Maidens Tag Team Championship Tournament begins!”
Rick Granger:
“That's right, Duffy—and forget the microwave burritos, this is the real deal. We’ve got three first-round matchups tonight—six teams, one prize, and no time for mercy!”
Sam Duffy:
“And if you missed what just went down moments ago—Count Vlad is GONE. He’s left the fate of the Dark Dominion in the hands of Korbi Kong and the Yeti. That’s not a power vacuum—that’s a storm surge.”
Rick Granger:
“Yeah, you might wanna reinforce the barricades tonight.”
Sam Duffy:
“So buckle up—we've got tournament action, rising tension, and a whole lot of voltage coming your way. Let’s get to the ring for our first Iron Maidens Tag Team Tournament match!”
Ring Introductions by Tony 'Echo' Calibur
Spotlights pulse in rhythm with the bass as the Voltage logo flickers across the screen.
Tony 'Echo' Calibur (in-ring, microphone raised):
“Ladies and gentlemen, this contest is scheduled for one fall… and is a first-round match in the Iron Maidens Tag Team Championship Tournament!”
A wave of boos rolls through the crowd as purple and silver lights bathe the entranceway and “Queen’s Reign” by Violet Halo hits the speakers. Out walks Ashley “Diamond” Summers, robe flowing, tiara glinting beneath the lights. Behind her, Kimberly Kiccsass stalks with a predator’s grin, adjusting the tape on her fists.
Tony 'Echo' Calibur:
“Introducing first… from Beverly Hills, California… at a combined weight of 274 pounds… the self-proclaimed ‘Diamond Standard’ of HCW… Ashley “Diamond” Summers and Kimberly Kiccsass!”
Ashley strikes a queenly pose mid-ramp, while Kimberly stares daggers at the front row. They climb into the ring with synchronized precision, brushing off the jeers like glitter.
The mood shifts fast as the house lights strobe red and silver. “Bad Reputation” by Striker Babe hits, and the crowd comes alive. Missy Chick charges out onto the ramp, followed by a high-energy Penny Hall, who slaps hands and points to the ring like it owes her money.
Tony 'Echo' Calibur:
“And their opponents… from Kansas City, Missouri, and Boston, Massachusetts respectively… at a combined weight of 262 pounds… Missy Chick and Penny Hall!”
Missy hits the apron first and glares across the ring at Ashley. Penny follows, giving a final salute to the crowd before stepping into position. Referee ‘Honest’ Abe checks both teams—and the bell rings.
Match #1: Missy Chick (f), Penny Hall (f) vs Ashley "Diamond" Summers (f), Kimberly Kiccsass (f)
From the opening bell, both teams came out swinging. Missy Chick and Ashley Summers collided with dueling offense—Missy with a clothesline, Ashley with a crushing Diamond Splash, followed by an early pin attempt. It was clear Ashley was going for a quick statement, but Missy had no intention of being embarrassed.
Momentum swung to Penny Hall, who entered and used her agility to score multiple takedowns, including a Small Package that nearly ended things early. The duo of Penny and Missy executed rapid tags, cutting the ring in half and punishing Ashley with clean strikes and fast-paced double-teams.
Sam Duffy:
“Penny Hall showing she didn’t come to be anyone’s warm-up match tonight!”
Rick Granger:
“She’s going full throttle—but Summers has the experience edge, and she’s absorbing it all like a sponge soaked in spite.”
Ashley finally turned the tide with a textbook German Suplex and crawled to tag in her partner. The chemistry between Ashley and Kimberly Kiccsass was undeniable. The two unleashed a barrage of brutal double-team maneuvers—including a Tilt-a-Whirl Gutbuster into a Top Rope Leg Drop—that left Missy Chick gasping for air.
Rick Granger:
“These two aren’t just teammates—they’re predators. Every double team is a nail in the coffin.”
Still, Penny and Missy refused to back down. After Missy nailed a stiff Missy Plex, they retook control, grinding down Summers and nearly catching her again with a Hair Mare Mat Slam into another Small Package attempt.
Late in the match, the pace hit fever pitch. Ashley survived a late-match barrage and nailed Penny with a devastating Tilt-a-Whirl Gutbuster, followed by a near-fall Diamond Cutter that required Missy to break the count.
But when the dust settled, Ashley hit one more Spear flush through Penny Hall’s ribcage and finally got the three count, advancing her team in the tournament.
Sam Duffy:
“What a war! Penny and Missy gave them everything—but the Diamonds cut through it all.”
Rick Granger:
“It wasn’t pretty. It wasn’t clean. But Ashley Summers and Kimberly Kiccsass survive the first round—and with that momentum? You’ve got to be worried if you’re standing across from them next.”
Winners: Ashley “Diamond” Summers & Kimberly Kiccsass
Advancing to the Semifinals of the Iron Maidens Tag Team Tournament
[Recap – Mina Harker’s arrival in HCW]
Mina shows up in HCW claiming she was sent by Van Helsing to help Scarlett. Together, they're said to be forming a new unit known as "The Nightshade Kin"—a force willing to do whatever it takes to cleanse the monstrous plague from wrestling.
Ring Introductions by Tony 'Echo' Calibur
The arena dims to deep violet. A haunting shimmer of lights flickers like starlight before a glowing full moon appears on the screen. “Dark Horizon” by Ethersworn hits, and the crowd roars for the fan-favorite pair. Emerging through the fog are Luna Shadow and Trinity Bowman, cloaked in shadow and starlight, walking with calm confidence.
Tony 'Echo' Calibur:
“Ladies and gentlemen, this is a first-round contest in the Iron Maidens Tag Team Championship Tournament! Introducing first, at a combined weight of 261 pounds… Luna Shadow and Trinity Bowman!”
Luna raises her hand to the lights, letting the darkness fall over her like a veil. Trinity bows her head, then points to the ring as they step between the ropes, ready for battle.
Suddenly, the lights flash white and red like a siren. “Statline Crisis” by Code Zed kicks in as J9 bursts onto the ramp—athletic and intense—followed by the towering, clipboard-wielding Fannie Wilkensen, whose nursing scrubs have been modified into ring gear with a clinical edge. The crowd watches curiously—neither woman is currently a regular roster member, but their presence commands attention.
Tony 'Echo' Calibur:
“And their opponents… making their return to HCW, at a combined weight of 278 pounds… J9 and Fannie Wilkensen!”
Fannie lifts her clipboard like a gavel before slapping it against her palm. J9 bounces on the balls of her feet and nods at the ring with laser focus. Both enter with purpose, knowing tonight could be their re-entry point into the spotlight.
Match #2: Luna Shadow (f), Trinity Bowman (f) vs Fannie Wilkensen (f), J9 (f)
No Images for J9 or Fannie
Sam Duffy:
“This is what I love about tournaments, Rick—comebacks, surprises, unfamiliar faces hungry to make a statement.”
Rick Granger:
“Fannie’s bringing medical-grade punishment and J9’s got gas in the tank. Luna and Trinity better not sleep on this.”
The action was fast from the bell. Luna Shadow opened with a textbook Midnight Moonsault, then tagged out to Trinity to launch a barrage of precision tag offense. Their fluid teamwork brought an early edge, but Fannie Wilkensen absorbed the damage like a seasoned tank—slamming Trinity with a Pendulum Backbreaker and later a thunderous Nurse’s Prescription Powerbomb.
The tag to J9 lit a fire under their team. The returning athlete connected with a Diving Back Elbow, and her team took full advantage of the double-team window to deliver punishing tandem offense. A highlight saw J9 lock in a Modified STF while Fannie hit an Olympic Slam variation that rocked Trinity's spine.
Sam Duffy:
“That was surgical! They’re picking the former tag regulars apart!”
Rick Granger:
“We haven’t seen this kind of chemistry from J9 and Fannie before—but if this is what they bring to the table? They might not be leaving after the tournament.”
But Luna wasn’t finished. After tagging back in, she delivered a Starafall DDT and locked in the Abyssal Lock, nearly tapping out J9 if not for Fannie’s timely save. The match escalated with all four women trading crushing double-team maneuvers, including J9’s explosive Nightmare Choke and Luna’s aerial Eclipse Dropkick.
The finish came after Luna attempted to rally one last time—but a Red Wedding Fireman’s Carry Facebuster from Fannie Wilkensen put her down for the three.
Sam Duffy:
“That’s it! A huge win by the surprise entrants—Fannie and J9 move on!”
Rick Granger:
“You give people a chance in this tournament, they just might seize it with both hands—and a clipboard!”
Winners: Fannie Wilkensen & J9
Advancing to the Semifinals of the Iron Maidens Tag Team Tournament
Backstage Segment – “The Call from the Enclave”
Location: Backstage hallway, HCW Arena – dim light, quiet tension
The camera opens on Scarlett Howl, standing alone near a side corridor. Her phone is pressed to her ear, her eyes scanning the distance like she’s expecting shadows to move. Her voice is low, urgent, but relieved.
Scarlett Howl (into phone):
“She’s here. Mina just arrived. I told her you’d be proud… she said you sent her.”
Beat. She smiles faintly, running a hand through her braid.
Scarlett Howl:
“Thank you, Abraham. We needed her.”
Another pause. She nods slowly.
Scarlett Howl:
“I’ll keep an eye on her. We’ll keep each other safe. You can stand down now.”
She listens for a moment longer, then lowers the phone gently, ending the call. Her expression softens—relief and gratitude mingling. The camera lingers as she walks off into the hallway, back toward the locker rooms.
CUT TO:
Elsewhere – The Study of Abraham Van Helsing (in the world of NPCW)
Location: A candlelit chamber within the hidden library of the Hunters’ Enclave – London
Abraham Van Helsing lowers the phone slowly, staring at the screen before setting it aside on a stack of weathered tomes. He’s surrounded by ancient artifacts—crossbows, relics, glass jars holding shadowy secrets.
He remains still for a long moment, brows furrowed. Then, almost to himself:
Abraham Van Helsing (quietly):
“I never sent her.”
He steps away from the desk and walks toward a large arched window. Rain taps against the glass in rhythmic uncertainty. His reflection flickers like a ghost as he speaks again, more solemn now.
Abraham Van Helsing:
“She left of her own will… but why lie?”
His gaze hardens—part confusion, part concern—as he reaches for a leather-bound journal and jots something quickly.
“Harker – tracking divergence. Observe without interference.”
He underlines the note once, firmly.
Abraham Van Helsing (under his breath):
“Let’s hope it’s not already too late.”
The camera pulls back, leaving Van Helsing silhouetted against the storm outside—his sanctuary no longer a place of certainty, but of looming questions.
Fade out.
The Voltage arena darkens as the eerie chime of a warped music box plays over the speakers. Purple mist spills across the stage as “Candyblood Waltz” by Mother Ghoul hits. Grizelda emerges in a crooked black bonnet and apron, licking a twisted peppermint cane. Flanking her is Luciana Albano, dressed in sleek black and blood red, exuding cold poise with a venomous smirk. The two walk slowly—like they’ve already decided the result.
Tony 'Echo' Calibur:
“Introducing first… representing La Famiglia Albano and the Witches’ Coven… at a combined weight of 264 pounds… Luciana Albano and Grizelda!”
Luciana ascends the steps with elegance, while Grizelda slides in beneath the ropes, shrieking into the rafters like a banshee. The crowd showers them in heat.
Then the beat drops—“Riot Therapy” by Engine Vice—as Jazz Emmett charges onto the stage, nodding to the crowd with a bounce in her step. Right behind her, Lady Hermann marches with measured aggression, the German powerhouse adjusting her gloves like she’s preparing for a surgical dissection.
Tony 'Echo' Calibur:
“And their opponents… at a combined weight of 276 pounds… Jazz Emmett and Lady Hermann!”
Jazz slaps hands on the ramp while Lady Hermann circles the ring with intensity. They both enter the ring as referee ‘Honest’ Abe calls them to their corners and signals for the bell.
Match #3: Luciana Albano (f), Grizelda (f) vs Jazz Emmett (f), Lady Hermann (f)
No Images for Jazz or Lady Hermann
Sam Duffy:
“You want contrast? Look at this. Luciana and Grizelda—sinister, methodical. Jazz and Hermann—aggressive, unpredictable. This is the wild card matchup of the first round.”
Rick Granger:
“Jazz and Lady Hermann may not have the creepy mystique, but they’ve got muscle and explosiveness—and they might just shock the brackets.”
The match kicked off at a blistering pace as Jazz Emmett took the fight straight to Luciana Albano with a slick Wheelbarrow Bulldog, nearly scoring an early pin. But Luciana shrugged off the impact, tagging in Grizelda and immediately shifting the rhythm of the match. What followed was a wicked stretch of coordinated punishment—Full Nelson Slams, Snap Mare Series, and even a Vertical Suplex–Blatant Chokehold combo that drew a sharp warning from Honest Abe.
Sam Duffy:
“That’s not strategy, that’s dark science! Look at these two—every move designed to hurt and humiliate.”
Rick Granger:
“Grizelda’s like a horror movie on sugar rush, and Luciana’s pulling the strings like a maestro with a razor.”
Lady Hermann eventually fought her way into the match and delivered a brutal Sitout Wheelbarrow Facebuster, slowing Luciana’s momentum. She tagged back out to Jazz, who tried to rally, but the power game of La Famiglia proved too much.
Luciana stayed in control down the stretch, grounding Jazz with her signature Belly-to-Back Pendulum Facebuster, only for Jazz to kick out once—then eat the same move again minutes later after a wild series of reversals and missed opportunities.
Sam Duffy:
“Jazz showed grit, but Luciana was relentless—and that second facebuster was surgical.”
Rick Granger:
“Call the bracket committee—Luciana and Grizelda are rolling into the semifinals, and I guarantee you someone’s having nightmares about it tonight.”
Winners: Luciana Albano & Grizelda
Advancing to the Semifinals of the Iron Maidens Tag Team Tournament
Backstage Segment – “In the Shadow of the Crown”
Location: The Dominion Sanctum – backstage near the ceremonial archway
Torchlight flickers across the dark stone corridor as a bloodred veil is pulled aside. Standing at its center, armored in silence, is the towering Empress herself—Korbi Kong, wearing her majestic Viperfang mask.
Beside her looms The Yeti, arms folded across his chest, an expression of icy anticipation beneath his hooded brow.
Footsteps echo from down the corridor. From the haze steps The Morningstar—better known as Hell’s Fang, his HCW Hardcore Championship strapped proudly around his waist, crimson trench coat dragging like smoke behind him. His face is calm, eyes dark.
Empress Korbi Kong (measured, commanding):
“Morningstar. Tonight, the battlefield is not ours to conquer… but yours to ignite.”
The Morningstar tilts his head, voice smooth but solemn.
The Morningstar:
“The fire does not need a prize to burn. It only needs a witness.”
The Yeti (growling, low):
“Make them feel it.”
A pause as the three stand silently—one silent storm, one volcanic prophet, one imperial tactician.
Empress Korbi Kong:
“Vlad may be absent… but the Dominion is not weakened. We are focused. Show them we are never without fangs.”
The Morningstar (smirking faintly):
“I do not wrestle. I deliver reckoning.”
He turns and walks into the darkness ahead. The camera lingers on the Yeti and the Empress as she lowers her head slightly and murmurs:
Empress Korbi Kong:
“Then let the reckoning begin.”
Cut to black.
The arena lights shift to golden sun tones as “Thunder Down Under” by Boomerang Battalion erupts from the sound system. A booming cheer breaks out across the Voltage crowd.
Tony 'Echo' Calibur:
“Introducing first… making his return to singles competition… from the heart of the outback… OUTBACK OSCAR!”
Wearing his trademark crocodile-skin vest and wide-brimmed hat, Outback Oscar barrels down the ramp to a deafening ovation, slapping hands and giving a two-finger salute to the hard camera. He climbs the turnbuckles and beats his chest, soaking in the love from the HCW faithful.
Suddenly, the patriotic blare of “Steel Honor” by Colonial Breed blasts through the arena like a war alarm. Red, white, and black spotlights sweep the crowd in searchlight fashion. A furious storm of boos erupts as Colonel Samuel Flagg bursts onto the stage in full fatigues—his eyes darting, jaw clenched, and clipboard in hand.
Tony 'Echo' Calibur:
“And his opponent… from Fort Endurance… COLONEL SAMUEL FLAGG!”
COLONEL SAMUEL FLAGG!”
Flagg salutes the hard cam with unnecessary aggression, then marches a few steps before suddenly turning to a random fan in the front row and shouting:
Colonel Flagg (off mic):
“You! You blinked too slow! Who sent you?!”
He throws the clipboard at ringside and stomps to the ring, shouting at referee ‘Honest’ Abe as he climbs the apron:
Colonel Flagg (off mic):
“Watch the ropes, ref! I saw ‘em move. Foreign wirework. Possibly Canadian!”
The crowd boos louder. Flagg does a combat roll into the ring, jumps up, and salutes to no one in particular—eyes wide, sweating with conviction.
Sam Duffy:
“Colonel Flagg looks like he’s here to interrogate the turnbuckles, Rick.”
Rick Granger:
“I think he just accused Honest Abe of treason. I’ve said it before—this guy isn’t just off his rocker. He set fire to the rocker, then blamed it on foreign spies.”
Match #4: Col. Flagg vs Outback Oscar (his return to the ring)
Sam Duffy:
“We’ve been waiting months to see Oscar back in singles action, and this crowd is READY.”
Rick Granger:
“They love him, Sam, but Flagg? He’s the walking embodiment of everything they hate. This one's gonna boil over quick.”
The match began with Colonel Flagg launching the first strike—a surprise Headbutt Drop that caught Oscar off-guard. But Oscar bounced back with his signature Spinning Elbow Drop, nearly picking up the win with an early pin attempt. Flagg fired back with relentless stomps to the skull, repeatedly targeting Oscar’s head like a man trying to crush defiance under his boot.
Rick Granger:
“Flagg’s got one gameplan: destroy the head, shut down the fight. It’s dirty but efficient.”
The momentum seesawed as Oscar reversed a stomp attempt into a Swinging Neckbreaker, then followed with a vicious Australian Leg Sweep, rattling the Colonel’s spine. But Flagg refused to go down easy—countering with Snap Suplexes and even tossing Oscar out of the ring at one point to slow the match to his pace.
Sam Duffy:
“This one’s physical, gritty, and pure Voltage. Oscar’s fighting from the ground up, just like he always does.”
As the minutes ticked by, the wear began to show on Flagg. Oscar began stringing together a barrage of offense—Full Nelson Face Smashes, Back Elbows, and repeated attempts at the Outback Stretch submission hold. The Colonel’s stubborn resistance earned him groans from the crowd, but Oscar stayed the course.
After Flagg connected with a late-match Enzuigiri, Oscar absorbed the shot and roared back with one final Swinging Neckbreaker, followed by a brutal Boot to the Gut that folded Flagg like a lawn chair.
Outback Oscar dropped into a tight lateral press as the crowd chanted along—
1...2...3!
Sam Duffy:
“He’s done it! The Outback is back, and business is booming!”
Rick Granger:
“Colonel Flagg got booted out of this match like last week’s rations!”
Winner: Outback Oscar
Oscar stood tall, saluting the crowd and pounding his chest before scaling the ropes and howling back at the Voltage faithful. After months away from singles action, the outback’s favorite son made one thing clear—
He’s back, and he’s hunting gold.
Backstage Segment – “Loose Ends and Dead Names”
Location: HCW Arena – Trainer’s Room, dimly lit and quiet
The camera fades in backstage. Jax Brenner, fresh from a light workout, sits on a folding bench, taping his wrists in silence. His usually wild eyes are calmer now—focused, but somewhere far away. The door creaks open.
Molly Mason steps in, hair pulled back, jacket over her shoulders. There’s a hesitance in her step… and something weighing on her mind.
Molly Mason:
“Hey, Jax. You got a minute?”
Jax Brenner looks up, blinking as if pulled from another plane.
Jax Brenner:
“Yeah. For you? Always.”
Molly Mason:
“I had a visitor last week. Broke into my apartment. Sat in the dark like some sort of gothic gargoyle.”
Jax Brenner:
“…Negropolis?”
She nods.
Molly Mason:
“He said he’s not with Vlad anymore. Said he’s looking for Polly.”
Jax’s nostrils flare. His expression hardens.
Jax Brenner:
“She’s out of HCW. Out of my sight. That’s all I care about.”
Molly Mason:
“He’s not looking for her for your sake, Jax. It’s for Jack—Madman Mason. He’s spiraling. Worse than he ever was here.”
Jax scoffs and leans forward, resting his elbows on his knees.
Jax Brenner:
“Let me guess—now they want Polly to play the savior? Typical Dominion trick. Break someone, then beg for pieces.”
Molly Mason (pointedly):
“Negropolis said they’re done with Vlad. He and Jack cut ties. It might not mean much, but maybe it counts for something.”
Jax Brenner:
“Not to me.”
He stands and walks a few steps toward the wall, his fists clenched.
Jax Brenner:
“You know what that cousin of yours did. The Yeti used her like a hammer—and she didn’t hesitate to swing. They tried to break me, Molly. Nearly did. Now I trust one person in this damn circus. You.”
Molly’s expression tightens.
Molly Mason:
“I know. But things are spiraling fast. Not just here. He said NPCW’s bleeding chaos. Even upper brass are spooked. Something’s brewing—and whatever it is, it’s not staying in one company.”
Jax Brenner:
“Then let it burn.”
Molly Mason:
“Come on, Jax.”
Jax Brenner:
“No. I’m not helping him. I’m not chasing her. And I sure as hell don’t owe Negropolis or your cousin a damn thing. You want to chase old ghosts, that’s your choice. But me?”
He turns and jabs a finger into his chest.
Jax Brenner:
“I bury mine.”
Silence. Then, quietly:
Molly Mason:
“Maybe that’s the problem.”
She doesn’t wait for a response. She walks off into the corridor, leaving Jax alone beneath the flickering overhead light.
He looks up. The shadows stretch long now.
He mutters under his breath:
Jax Brenner:
“This world doesn’t need saviors anymore. Just survivors.”
Fade to black.
[Back at the ring]
The crowd buzzes as familiar music hits—“Bring the Hammer Down” by Iron Valley—and out step Joe “Jack Hammer” Sanders and Noah “High Flyer” Murphy to a warm ovation.
Tony 'Echo' Calibur:
“Ladies and gentlemen, this tag team contest is scheduled for one fall—and will determine the number one contenders to the Heritage Tag Team Championships!”
Joe takes the mic from Echo with a nod.
Joe Sanders:
“We’re not here to disrespect anyone. But Noah and I—we’ve earned a shot. We’ve scratched, we’ve clawed, and we’ve come up just short before. So tonight—we’re not askin’.”
Noah Murphy (smiling):
“We’re challenging. Samoan Bloodline—if you’re feeling the fight, let’s give these fans something they won’t forget.”
The music hits again—this time, “Islander’s Call” by Firestorm Heirloom—and the crowd erupts as Samoan Stomper Raku storms through the curtain with his signature roar. Beside him, the towering Tumu “The Island Beast” Vaega follows with silent intensity.
Tony 'Echo' Calibur:
“And their opponents… representing the Samoan Bloodline… Samoan Stomper RAKU and TUMU “THE ISLAND BEAST” VAEGA!”
Raku slaps his chest and nods at Joe with mutual respect, while Tumu eyes Noah coldly from across the ring. Referee ‘Honest’ Abe calls for the bell.
Match #5: Samoan Bloodline vs Joe Sanders/Noah Murphy for the #1 contenders to the Heritage TT titles
Sam Duffy:
“It’s power and pride in both corners tonight, Rick. This is what tag team wrestling is all about!”
Rick Granger:
“And the stakes are sky high—winner goes on to face the Fangs of Despair. That’s like surviving a hurricane just to walk into a volcano.”
The match opened with Raku overpowering Joe Sanders with classic island brutality—Knee Drops to the Ribcage and brutal Double Chops to the Neck grounding the veteran early. Joe and Noah fought back with crisp teamwork, landing a Chinlock-Powerbomb combo that staggered Raku.
But the Stomper roared back with another stiff chop, keeping the crowd on edge.
Sam Duffy:
“Raku’s not just trying to win—he’s testing Joe’s pain tolerance.”
When Tumu Vaega finally tagged in, the ring seemed to shrink. Joe tried to strike, but Tumu reversed and unleashed the Island Quake—a devastating Samoan drop into senton—but Joe countered mid-air and answered with Hammering Corner Forearms to a wild pop.
Tagging Noah back in, the duo double-teamed with a Back Suplex–Powerbomb combo, but Tumu stayed on his feet, absorbing the punishment and answering with a Spinning Solo Uranage that nearly snapped Noah’s back.
Rick Granger:
“That was a meteor landing on Murphy’s spine!”
Despite a valiant fight, Noah couldn’t escape the final storm. After Joe was knocked from the apron by a Clothesline Over the Ropes, Tumu fired up with a Superkick right to Noah’s jaw and dropped into a deep cover.
1...2...3!
Sam Duffy:
“They did it! The Samoan Bloodline are heading to Reign of Champions!”
Rick Granger:
“That was a heavyweight brawl disguised as a wrestling match—and it delivered!”
Winners: The Samoan Bloodline (Raku & Tumu Vaega)
Victory via pinfall (Superkick on Noah Murphy)
They retain their spot as the #1 Contenders to the Heritage Tag Team Championships
With the final bell rung and the Samoan Bloodline standing tall, the crowd remains electric. Joe Sanders and Noah Murphy offer nods of respect as they exit the ring. Raku and Tumu Vaega linger, soaking in the cheers from the fans, breathing heavy but proud.
Sam Duffy:
“That’s what it’s all about—mutual respect, earned the hard way. The Bloodline are going to Reign of Champions!”
Rick Granger:
“They’ll need every ounce of that heart when they go face-to-face with the Fangs of Desp—wait a second—HEY, TURN AROUND!”
Suddenly, from out of the crowd—or perhaps the shadows themselves—Dr. Red Fang and Nightfang storm the ring, chairs and kendo sticks in hand. The Fangs of Despair, the reigning Heritage Tag Team Champions, explode into the ring, ambushing Raku and Tumu without warning.
CRACK!
A kendo shot collapses across Raku’s back. Tumu takes a chair to the side of the head, staggering as the champions descend like wolves.
Sam Duffy:
“What the hell is this?! The match is over! They’re not even supposed to be out here!”
Rick Granger:
“This isn’t about tonight—this is the Dominion sending a message! And the message is PAIN!”
As the crowd boos viciously, the camera cuts to the stage. Standing calmly—arms crossed and unmoved—are Empress Korbi Kong and The Yeti. They watch with cold calculation as their enforcers ravage the new #1 contenders.
But just as Nightfang grabs Raku for another strike, Korbi lifts her hand. No words—just a slow, deliberate motion across her throat. The Fangs freeze… and without a moment of hesitation, drop their weapons and exit the ring.
Sam Duffy:
“Wait—what?! They're leaving?!”
Rick Granger:
“That’s not fear, Sam. That’s precision. That’s Korbi pulling the leash just before the bite finishes. Dominion strategy at its cruelest.”
Raku and Tumu crawl to the ropes, glaring as the Fangs backpedal toward the ramp, never taking their eyes off them. The crowd erupts with chants of “LET THEM FIGHT! LET THEM FIGHT!”
Raku shouts in Samoan. Tumu pounds the turnbuckle, daring them to return. But the Fangs don’t even flinch. They ascend the ramp slowly, stopping at the top where Korbi Kong and The Yeti stand like sentinels. The Empress gives one last nod—and the Dominion disappears behind the curtain.*
Back in the ring, Raku and Tumu regroup, battered but standing. They raise their fists, and the crowd explodes again. On their way up the ramp, they high-five fans on both sides—grim but defiant.
Sam Duffy:
“They may not have gold yet—but tonight, they’ve got something just as important: the crowd behind them and a fight ahead.”
Rick Granger:
“The Fangs of Despair picked the battlefield. But the Samoan Bloodline? They’ll choose when the war ends.”
Backstage Interview – “The Croc Hunter Comes Calling”
The Voltage logo flashes in the corner as the camera opens on Candace Hart, standing backstage in front of the HCW backdrop. She’s joined by a familiar figure, sporting a crocodile leather vest, dusty boots, and a coiled bullwhip slung casually over his shoulder.
Candace Hart:
“Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome back to HCW… Outback Oscar! Oscar, it’s great to see you again—but the last time we saw you, you were being wheeled out after a brutal assault at the hands of the Morningstar. What’s going through your mind now that you’re cleared to return?”
Oscar grins wide, but there’s a tightness in his jaw—more venom than usual behind that rugged charm.
Outback Oscar:
“Too right, Candace. Last time I was here, that flaming drongo they call the Morningstar took a steel chair to my spine and laughed all the way to the Dark Dominion’s little clubhouse. I woke up in the back of an ambulance thinkin' about one thing—payback.”
He unslings the whip and lets it crack softly against his palm.
Outback Oscar:
“The doc told me I’d be out for weeks. I made it back in half that time. Why? Because I’m not lettin’ some face-painted phantom keep me from what’s mine. The Hardcore Title might be on his shoulder now—but I promise you this, Candace—”
Oscar leans in closer, eyes narrowed with intent.
Outback Oscar:
“—I’m coming for it. I’m comin’ for the Morningstar. And if he thinks what he did to me was destruction… he ain’t seen a real bushfire yet.”
Candace Hart (nodding):
“You heard it right here—Outback Oscar is officially back, and the road to the Hardcore Championship just got a lot more dangerous for the Dark Dominion.”
Oscar tips his hat to the camera with a smirk, then exits the frame as Candace turns back to the lens.
Candace Hart:
“Back to you at ringside.”
Sam Duffy:
“It’s been a chaotic night here on Voltage, and now it’s time for our main event—one that pits heart and grit against unholy fury!”
Rick Granger:
“Adam Jameson is stepping into the belly of the beast tonight, Sam. And unfortunately for him, the beast has fangs.”
The arena darkens for a moment before the lights surge to life with blue and silver pulses. A burst of pyro erupts from the stage as the crowd rises to their feet.
Tony ‘Echo’ Calibur (in-ring, mic in hand):
“Ladies and gentlemen… this is your Voltage main event, scheduled for one fall! Introducing first… from Gainesville, Georgia… weighing in at 218 pounds… the high-octane technician… ADAM JAMESON!”
Jameson bursts through the curtain to a loud pop, finger guns blazing as he makes his way down the ramp. He slaps hands with fans and rolls into the ring, eyes locked with focus, soaking in the crowd’s support.
Sam Duffy:
“This man’s been fighting uphill his whole career, and tonight’s no different. But if anyone can shock the system—Adam Jameson can.”
Rick Granger:
“But shocking the Dominion is like trying to short-circuit a ghost. Good luck.”
Suddenly, the lights cut. A guttural choir of Latin chanting begins, slow and haunting. Red mist spills onto the ramp. The monstrous silhouette of The Morningstar appears—his arms outstretched, cloak trailing behind him like shadows made flesh.
Flanking him are Empress Korbi Kong, standing stoic and severe in her Viperfang mask, and The Yeti, grinning like a wraith carved in ice. Together, they descend the ramp like a dark procession.
Tony ‘Echo’ Calibur:
“And his opponent… accompanied by Empress Korbi Kong and The Yeti… representing the Dark Dominion… weighing in at 245 pounds… he is the reigning Hardcore Champion of HCW… the embodiment of oblivion itself… HELL’S FANG — THE MORNINGSTAR!”
Sam Duffy:
“That presence… that aura… no matter how many times you see it, the room just gets colder when he shows up.”
Rick Granger:
“He doesn’t come to win—he comes to unmake.”
The Morningstar steps slowly up the steel steps, removes his black-laced cloak, and enters the ring with eerie grace. He never breaks eye contact with Jameson. Korbi and Yeti remain stationed at ringside like wolves on watch.
Sam Duffy:
“Non-title or not, this is a proving ground for Jameson—and a hunt for Hell’s Fang.”
Rick Granger:
“Better hope he brought silver, garlic, and a miracle.”
Referee ‘Honest’ Abe checks both competitors. The bell is just seconds from ringing…
Match #6: The Main Event: The Morningstar w/Empress Korbi Kong and the Yet vs Adam Jameson in a non-title match.
The bell rang with tension already high as Adam Jameson, the tenacious technician, locked eyes with the sinister force known as Hell’s Fang – The Morningstar. The Hardcore Champion wasted no time asserting his dominance, grabbing Jameson from behind and launching him across the ring with a thunderous Full Nelson Choke Suplex.
Sam Duffy: “You can feel the ring shake with that! That wasn’t just a suplex—it was an exorcism attempt!”
Jameson tried to regain footing, but The Morningstar’s relentless barrage continued. A Death Valley Driver rattled the mat, leaving Jameson reeling. The Empress and the Yeti watched impassively from ringside as the match turned into a brutal showcase of domination.
The Morningstar began toying with his prey, driving home a Loaded Punch that dropped Jameson to a knee, followed by the terrifying Necromancer’s Delight—a half nelson choke that looked like it could put someone out for good.
Rick Granger: “That’s the one that’s ended careers. Ask ‘the Franchise’.” (editor’s note: This comment is in reference to the Morningstar’s feud with Steel City Wrestling Commissioner Shane Douglas back from 2023-24. See prior HCW newsletters for that feud.)
Jameson barely managed to kick out of the pin attempt, gasping for air but still fighting. He finally struck back with a Spin Kick that staggered the monster briefly—but the moment was fleeting.
As Honest Abe maintained order, The Yeti suddenly climbed onto the apron and shoved the referee, causing Abe to stumble and blow the whistle for the bell.
Sam Duffy: “What the—The Yeti just shoved Honest Abe! That’s a disqualification!”
Rick Granger: “A tactical strike, Sam. They weren’t here to win… they were here to make a statement.”
Post-Match Aftermath
As the bell echoed and the referee signaled the disqualification, The Morningstar wasn't done. With a snarl, he lunged at Adam Jameson, lifting him and slamming him spine-first into the corner post. Jameson crumpled, gasping for breath.
The Yeti stalked in behind him, grabbing a handful of Adam’s hair and preparing to deliver a crushing headbutt—
CRACK!
A steel chair collided with the ropes, drawing everyone's attention—Outback Oscar stormed down the ramp like a man possessed, chair in hand. Right behind him, Jax Brenner marched with purpose, holding a chair of his own.
Sam Duffy: “Oscar’s back! And he’s got backup! Jax Brenner is here—and he’s swinging metal!”
The Dominion didn’t wait for an invitation. Hell’s Fang dropped Jameson, stepping toward Oscar with menace in his eyes, but Korbi Kong barked an order from the apron.
Jax hurled his chair into the ring, forcing the Dominion members to retreat under a barrage of steel and fury.
The Yeti, halfway up the ramp, turned around and stared at Jax—grinning. There was something feral behind the smile… a silent, creeping threat.
Meanwhile, Hell’s Fang, still on the floor, locked eyes with Outback Oscar, then extended a pale, gloved finger… pointing directly at him like he was marking prey.
Rick Granger: “That’s not a warning. That’s a promise.”
Korbi motioned again, and the Dominion pulled back behind the curtain—no rush, no panic… just strategy.
Inside the ring, Oscar helped Jameson to his feet, gently patting his back while checking for injuries. Jax stood near the ropes, chair still in hand, glaring down the ramp.
Sam Duffy: “Oscar came to Adam’s rescue—but this wasn’t just about friendship. He’s got his eyes set on the Hardcore Champion.”
Rick Granger: “And Jax? He’s not here to play games. The Dominion keeps pushing… but sooner or later, something’s gonna snap.”
With the crowd roaring, Oscar helped Jameson from the ring as Jax Brenner remained behind—a sentinel, alone in the ring, watching the shadows for movement.
Show Sign-Off
With tension high and the Dominion looming large, the credits began to roll on another stormy night of HCW Voltage.
Sam Duffy: “The Iron Maidens Tag Tournament has begun, the Samoan Bloodline is heading for gold, and Adam Jameson just survived the Morningstar!”
Rick Granger: “What’s next on this road to Reign of Champions? You’ll have to stay tuned and find out!”
[Voltage fades to black.]
[End Show.]
Let me know if you'd like to do a post-match segment with Jameson or anything else!
[Fade to black.]
Before the show completely ended… a soft white glow pulsed for just a second in the upper corner of the broadcast—then vanished.
The final words we hear are:
Sam Duffy: “Did you… did you catch that?”
Rick Granger: “What the hell was that?”
More to come. Stay tuned.
