HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2024 #983 – 2/10/24

Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.  We have a lot going on today so we’re going to get right to the point.

 

Hayley Hailstorm was severely injured in last week’s match.  She let Max know she will be back next week by any means necessary.

 

The World Tag Team Champions – The New Sicilians – Dick and Vinnie Albano – will be in tag team action today but the titles won’t be on the line.  The newest member of the HCW roster – Julius Squeezer -  will be in action against Negropolis.  The Banker, without Ruth Heartless for the first time, will be in action in a special challenge match in a top 10 lineup.

 

The show begins as The Banker’s music hits and he makes his way out.  The fans boo but he smriks and makes his way to the ring.

 

[The camera transitions to the center of the wrestling ring where a spotlight shines on The Banker, standing tall with a confident grin on his face. The audience erupts with boos as he raises the microphone to address the crowd.]

 

The Banker: Ladies and gentlemen, do you feel that? The winds of change are blowing, and the tides are turning in the world of professional wrestling. Now, I know you all have been accustomed to seeing me with a certain someone by my side – someone who used to manage my affairs both in and out of the ring.

 

[He pauses, a self-assured smirk on his face.]

 

But let me make one thing crystal clear – The Banker no longer needs Ruth Heartless. Oh no, my friends, I have outgrown the need for a manager. Ruth may have thought she could control the financial empire that is The Banker, but I am beyond such management now.

 

[The crowd buzzes with anticipation as The Banker paces back and forth, exuding an air of newfound independence.]

 

The Banker: Ruth Heartless had her time with me, and while she may have served her purpose at one point, I've decided it's time to cut ties and ascend to even greater heights. I am no one's puppet, and I damn sure won't be held back by anyone's ambitions other than my own.

 

[The crowd reacts with jeers, acknowledging The Banker's bold statement.]

 

The Banker: Ruth, you see, was merely a stepping stone in the path of my financial conquest. Now, I stand before you, liberated and ready for new challenges. The Financial Maverick? Ha! Evan Stockwell, you may have Ruth by your side, but know this – I am the architect of my own destiny.

 

[The Banker smirks confidently, the arena echoing with a chorus of boos.]

 

The Banker: So, to Ruth Heartless, I say, thank you for your services, but your management is no longer required. The Banker stands alone, ready to face any challenge, conquer any opponent, and leave a trail of financial ruin in my wake. The era of The Banker has just begun, and I assure you all, it will be one for the history books!

 

Match #1:  The Banker vs TNT for his spot in the World title top 10

 

TNT (Templeton N Townsend) makes his way out and his reaction from the crowd is not all that different than the one the Banker got.  TNT’s spot in the top 10 lineup for the World title is on the line.

The Banker gets the win and now enters the World Title picture.  He has a long way to go to getting a shot but this match just got him that much closer.

 

Match #2:  JR Fargo and Alejandro Guerrero vs Col Flagg and Jake Montrose

 

Col. Flagg and ‘the Bounty Hunter’ Jake Montrose come out to boos from the crowd.  Flagg gets on the mic and continues to run down Alejandro Guerrero constantly referring him to “Junior Jalapeno”.  The fans are not taking the disrespect too well.  The music changes and out comes ‘The Magnificent One’ Juan Raul Fargo and Alejandro Guerrero who get a loud pop from the crowd.  The match was pretty close early on before JR and Lee took over and began dominating.   Around the 17 minute mark, Flagg and Montrose began double teaming Fargo not allowing him to make the tag.  At the end of the 20^st minute of the match, Fargo makes the hot tag to Lee.  We join the match at that point.

Alejandro Guerrero wins with a TRIPLE ROLLING VERTICAL SUPLEX over "The Bounty Hunter" Jake Montrose!!!

 

Alejandro and JR get the win and the fans pop.  Montrose and Flagg hit the ring again and attack the winners.  Montrose and JR brawl on the outside of the ring.  Flagg takes Lee down with stiff steel chair shots calling him a ‘Spiceless Sensation’.  Just then, Dominic Marconi comes out with his own steel chair in hand and begins clearing Montrose and Flagg away from his tag team partners.  Once driven from the ring, Dominic checks on his teammates.  A bit battered and bruised, Lee says that this is not over between him and the Colonel.  He vows to finish this next week challenging Flagg to a Steel Cage match.

 

Match #3:  Negropolis vs newcomer Julius Squeezer.

 

The next match is ready to get underway.  The newest addition to the HCW roster – Julius Squeezer comes out first to a decent pop from the crowd.  He shakes hands with the fans and makes his way to the ring.  He’s barely there before the ominous music begins and out comes Negropolis.  The fans do not like him and they let him know it.  Negropolis severely underestimated his opponent and Squeezer took advantage of it.  At the 14 minute mark, Negropolis managed to hit a snap suplex and as he went for a pin, he saw Duke Knight making his way down and immediate got up and began jaw jacking with Duke.  Negropolis turned back to hit Julius with the Black Doom and turned his attention back to Duke.  Julius caught his second win and dropped Negropolis with a Steiner Line.  He immediately locked him in a Steiner Recliner and Negropolis grabbed for the rope but Duke pulled it away from him.  Julius had it locked in and Negropolis tapped out. 

 

Julius Squeezer gets the win in his debut match by submission in 16 minutes.  Duke turns to leave.  Negropolis had rolled out of the ring and then ambushed Duke as he made his way to the back.  Both men fought up the ramp and to the back.   This feud is only getting started.

 

Backstage, Col Flagg laughs saying that Guerrero played right into his trap.  Of course he will accept the match and promises to deport Guerrero once and for all.

 

Match #4:  New Sicilians w/Pierre Boulay vs Duke Knight and Biceps Bannerman in a non-title match. 

 

Next up, the Tag Team champs see action but in a non-title capacity.  Adam Jameson and Billy Robbins come out first to a nice pop from the crowd.  Next, the champs, led by their manager Pierre Boulay, make their way out next.

Duke Knight and Biceps Bannerman get the win but as this was not a title match, they don’t win the belts however they are now in contention for them.  Duke and Biceps left and just as the New Sicilians were getting ready to leave, they receive a visit from the 5^th Column (Baron von Blood and Oswald Zimmerman).  Baron says that the New Sicilians are in a weakened state which means they are now challenging the champs for a title match.  They want the match next week.  Pierre confers with Vinnie and Dick and they accept.  Baron and Oswald leave laughing but I think Pierre and the New Sicilians have a trick or two up their sleeves.

 

Match #5:  Hardcore title match: Tommy Sullivan vs OP Cunningham. 

 

Otis Peabody Cunningham comes out first to a nice pop for our main event match.  He makes his way to the ring shaking hands with the fans.  The music turns dark and the lights dim as the Hardcore Champion Tommy ‘the Morningstar’ Sullivan makes his way out.  He stands on the stage holding his title high.  As a reminder, all hardcore title matches are no DQ and no count out so the champ can’t skate on a technicality.  Tommy gets on the mic and says the rules for this match will be “Fight Pit” rules.  OP looks a little concerned.  The Morningstar smirks and the match begins.

JUST THEN, THE SCW TRIPLE THREAT OF ELIAS, SAM ADONIS AND LEE MORIARTY MAKE THEIR WAY OUT.  TOMMY STRUGGLES TO GET TO HIS FEET BUT THEY ATTACK HIM BEATING HIM DOWN.  MORIARTY DRAGS TOMMY OUT OF THE RING AND THEN ELIAS THEN PULLS OUT A PAIR OF HANDCUFFS AND LOCKS TOMMY TO THE RING POST.  TOMMY CAN’T GET BACK IN THE RING.

 

Otis Peabody (OP) Cunningham wins by 10 COUNT COUNTOUT!

 

Otis Peabody (OP) Cunningham wins with a 10-COUNT K-O over Tommy "The Morningstar" Sullivan!!!

 

OP Cunningham gets the win and becomes the NEW HARDCORE CHAMPION!  The SCW Triple Threat just cost Tommy Sullivan the title.  Triple Threat glares over at OP who leaves the ring without being able to enjoy the fan’s reaction.  Elias, Sam and Moriarty stand tall in the center of the ring and then point up to one of the box suites.  The camera zooms in and we see SCW Champion Kurt Angle and SCW Commissioner Shane Douglas laughing at the outcome.

 

I am sure this is not going to sit well with the Morningstar so I expect fallout to be eminent.  Stay Tuned.

 

 

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2024 #982 – 2/03/24

Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.  Tonight’s show will see ‘The Alaskan Wildman’ Jax Brenner taking on the 5^th Column (Baron von Blood and Oswald Zimmerman) in a handicap match.  The new TV Champion ‘The Financial Maverick’ Evan Stockwell will be in action in a non-title match.  We’ll also see the Albano Family defending the Six Man Tag Team Championship vs the Muscles Trio.  World Champion the Wicked Prophet has agreed to a match tonight but his title is not on the line.  The Main Event tonight will see the Albano Powerhouse Ladies Champion Luciana Albano defend her title against the little spitfire Hayley Hailstorm. 

 

Match #1:  Jax Brenner vs Baron von Blood & Oswald Zimmerman in a handicap match. 

 

In this handicap wrestling match, the heel team, the 5th Column (Baron von Blood and Oswald Zimmerman), faced off against the favorite, Jax Brenner, accompanied by his manager, Molly Mason.

 

In the early moments, Oswald Zimmerman, also known as The Iron Cross, executed an EAR RINGER, scoring points against Jax Brenner. However, Jax Brenner retaliated with a powerful move called THE PICKAXE, gaining an advantage.

 

As the match progressed, the action intensified. Jax Brenner showcased his offensive prowess, executing maneuvers like BIGFOOT BOMB and SASQUATCH STOMP. He even attempted pinfalls, putting significant pressure on his opponents.

 

The 5th Column attempted double-team tactics, but Jax Brenner managed to reverse some of their moves. Despite enduring moves like GERMAN LARIOT and STOMACH KLAW, Jax Brenner demonstrated resilience and determination.

 

We join the match at the 23 minute mark.

Jax Brenner gets the win and the fans pop huge for him.  Just as he begins to celebrate, Madman Mason rushes in from the crowd and clotheslines Jax from behind.  Surprisingly, that was the only thing he did as he immediately left the ring.  Jax got up seething.  Mason smiled as he walked backwards up the ramp.  Jax had enough of the smirking and got out of the ring and went after Mason.  Mason doubletimed it to the back with a very angry Wildman after him.

 

[The camera cuts to the backstage area of the wrestling event, where the chaotic ambiance of wrestlers preparing for their matches is evident. Ruth Heartless, dressed in a sharp business suit and carrying a clipboard, is seen pacing back and forth in front of a dressing room door labeled 'The Financial Maverick - Evan Stockwell.' She looks focused and determined as she awaits the champion.]

 

Ruth Heartless: [Speaking assertively into her Bluetooth earpiece] Make sure the contracts are ready for Evan's next appearance. We need maximum exposure for The Financial Maverick.

 

[The dressing room door swings open, and Evan Stockwell, the NEW HCW TV Champion, steps out, adorned in his lavish ring attire. Ruth looks at him approvingly, a sly smile on her face.]

 

Ruth Heartless: Evan, darling, you were absolutely magnificent out there tonight. The way you dismantled your opponent – pure brilliance.

 

Evan Stockwell: [Smirking] It's what I do, Ruth. I manage money in the ring like I do in the markets – strategically and ruthlessly.

 

Ruth Heartless: [Nodding] And that's precisely why I'm here. Your success in the ring is just the beginning. Tonight, we showcased your dominance as the TV Champion, and now it's time to capitalize on it.

 

Evan Stockwell: [Raises an eyebrow] I'm all ears, Ruth. What's the plan?

 

Ruth Heartless: First things first, the Banker is yesterday's news. We've severed ties with him. It's time to focus on YOUR career. You're the face – or should I say, the financial mask – of success in this industry.

 

Evan Stockwell: [Smirks] About time. The Banker was in my way anyway.

 

Ruth Heartless: [Handing him a customized briefcase with the words 'The Maverick's Vault'] You're not just a champion; you're a brand. This briefcase is your symbol of authority. Carry it with pride, and let everyone know that the Financial Maverick means business.

 

Evan Stockwell: [Grinning] I like the sound of that. What's next?

 

Ruth Heartless: We're securing more sponsorships, exclusive interviews, and prime time slots. I've got media outlets clamoring for a piece of The Financial Maverick. This is our chance to dominate not only in the ring but also in the business side of things.

 

Evan Stockwell: [Confidently] Ruth, you're a genius. Let's make sure everyone knows that the Financial Maverick isn't just a champion – he's a force to be reckoned with.

 

[They share a nod, and the duo heads out of the dressing room, ready to conquer the wrestling world with their calculated and strategic approach to success.]

 

Match #2:  Evan Stockwell vs Dennis Marshall in a non-title match

 

Dennis Marshall makes his way out first to a nice pop from the crowd.  He shakes hands with the fans as he goes around the ring.  He enters the ring and waits patiently.  The music changed and out comes the TV Champion Evan Stockwell and his manager Ruth Heartless.  The crowd boos the TV Champ but he doesn’t care.  He makes his way to the ring.  Ruth makes sure the ref knows that this is only a warm up match for Evan and the title is not on the line.  The match began and for the first 8 min of the match, Dennis held his own but then as the interference from Ruth intensified, Evan began dominating his opponent.  After 10 minutes in, it was all the Financial Maverick.  We join the match at the 15 minute mark.

Evan Stockwell gets the win and he holds his arms high.  Ruth joins him in the ring and she points to Evan calling him “the Next Big Thing”.  The duo leave while Dennis is helped to the back.

 

Hayley says she’s ready to become Ladies Champion again that she will do whatever it will take to defeat the dominant Luciana.  She tells her to bring whatever she wants; it won’t matter.

 

Match #3:  Six Man tag team match:  The Albano Family w/Pierre Boulay vs the Muscles Trio

 

The Trio comes down first to a decent pop from the crowd.  They run around acting all goofy and make their way to the ring.  They make their way into the ring and wait for their opponents.  They don’t wait long as the Six Man Tag Team Champions – Aldo and Carlo Albano with Rigg A. Mortis  - The Albano Family – come out with Pierre following behind carrying the portrait of Capt. Lou Albano.  The champs get in the ring and immediately attack the Muscles, going on the offensive early.

 

The Six Man Tag Team Title Match between the Albano Family and the Muscles Trio delivered an intense and action-packed showdown. Right from the opening bell, both teams showcased their offensive prowess with a flurry of impactful moves and double team maneuvers.

 

Muscles McGuire and Aldo Albano set the tone in the early minutes, each trying to gain an upper hand. Muscles Thorpe's entry into the match brought powerful suplexes, while Aldo Albano countered with resilience. The mid-part of the match witnessed a chaotic exchange with double teaming, leaving both teams jockeying for control.

 

As the match progressed, injuries came into play, affecting the strategies of both teams. Carlo Albano and Muscles Weasley entered the fray with a display of teamwork, while Rigg A Mortis suffered a notable injury, altering the dynamics.

 

In the later minutes, Aldo Albano, Carlo Albano, and Rigg A Mortis showcased a relentless offensive assault. The teams engaged in a series of impactful moves and attempted pins, with both sides displaying determination and stamina. Muscles Thorpe's attempt to secure a pin met resistance, showcasing the tenacity of the Albano Family.

 

The closing moments saw a final surge from both teams, with Aldo Albano, Carlo Albano, and Rigg A Mortis trying to secure a decisive victory. However, despite their best efforts, the match reached its time limit with neither team emerging as the clear winner. As a result, the Six Man Tag Team Title Match was declared a draw, allowing the champions to walk out with their titles intact.  Pierre Boulay collected his team, portrait of Capt. Lou and the belts and made their way to the back.  (30 min time limit)

Negropolis continues his attack on Duke Knight while Dirty Dick and Pierre leave.  Negropolis rolls Duke back into the ring and hits Duke with a Doom Bomb before leaving.  The fans boo the hell out of Negropolis.  Duke is helped to the back by a couple of refs.

 

 

Match #5: Dominic Marconi vs the Wicked Prophet in a non-title match

 

The World Champion the Wicked Prophet asked for a warm up match but the title would not be on the line.  GM Max McGillicutty gave him ‘the Italain Thoroughbred’ Dominic Marconi.  Dominic’s friends Alejandro Guerrero and JR Fargo are not in the building tonight so Dominic is on his own.

Just then, Jack Lumber appeared from the Lumber Lounge and stood on ramp.  Prophet saw him and got distracted.

Dominic Marconi just got a win over the World Champion and the fans pop HUGE for him.  The title was not on the line here but this was a HUGE feather in his cap.  Prophet should be on the lookout for the Italian Thoroughbred.  Prophet left the ring and had words with Lumber.  The two began shoving each other but security rushed over and broke it up.  Prophet promised Jack would pay.

 

Backstage, the Ladies Champion is being interviewed.  Luciana tells Hayley that since she put her through a table the last time they met, tonight, no rules – the belt is on the line in an Ultimate Shoot Fight rules.  Tonight, she HURTS Hayley.

 

Match #6:  The Main Event:  Luciana vs Hayley Hailstorm for the ladies title. 

 

Hayley Hailstorm comes out first to a huge pop from the crowd.  She makes her way to the ring and climbs the corner turnbuckle and pumps her fist into the air.  The fans are solidly behind her.  The music changed and out comes the Ladies Champion Luciana Albano.  Pierre Boulay comes out with her and is carrying the portrait of her uncle.  They make their way to the ring.  Pierre goes to sit at commentary.  Luciana climbs into the ring and stands in the center of the ring and holds the title high as the fans boo her.  She and Hayley stand toe to toe in the center of the ring.  Without releasing her gaze, Luciana hands the title to the ref.  It wasn’t until the bell rang that the two competitors stepped back and began their match. 

 

In the opening moments of this intense clash, the HCW Ladies Champion, Luciana Albano, and the valiant challenger, Hayley Hailstorm, left no stone unturned. Luciana showcased her aggressive side with a Belly to Back Pendulum Facebuster however, Hayley retaliated with a powerful Death Valley Driver, proving her resilience.

 

As the action spilled outside the ring, Hayley displayed her determination by dragging Luciana around, earning points for her efforts. The tide shifted when Luciana executed a Vertical Suplex, showcasing her technical prowess.

 

The high-flying action continued with Luciana taking to the air, delivering a Diving Crossbody to Floor. Despite absorbing the impact, Hayley struggled with offense.

 

Strategic maneuvers came into play in the fourth minute, with Luciana's Stockton Slap and Hayley's What the Hail? both making a significant impact. The competitors fought fiercely, each countering the other's moves.

 

In the fifth minute, Luciana once again demonstrated her cunning by dragging Hayley around the ring.  The momentum swung back and forth as both competitors showcased their signature moves.

 

The match reached a pivotal moment when Luciana put Hayley through the Spanish Announce Table in the final minute. The crowd gasped as the chaos unfolded outside the ring. Pierre Boulay on commentary expressed his shock and anticipation, "My word, Luciana Albano has just taken this match to a whole new level! Putting Hayley through the announce table, and she's not done yet!"

 

Not content with just the table, Luciana powerslammed Hayley on the unforgiving concrete floor. The arena shook with the impact as Pierre exclaimed, "This is a calculated assault by Luciana! She's showing no mercy."

 

Despite the brutality, Luciana rolled Hayley back into the ring to finish the match. The crowd, now in a mix of awe and concern, watched as Luciana secured the victory with a decisive Belly to Back Pendulum Facebuster. The referee counted, and the HCW Ladies Championship remained in the grasp of the cunning champion.

 

As Luciana celebrated, Pierre Boulay couldn't help but acknowledge her ruthlessness jumping into the ring with mic and title in hand.  "Love her or hate her, you can't deny Luciana Albano's dominance in that ring. What a statement she just made tonight!" The controversial champion stood tall, with Pierre putting the title around her waist, leaving an indelible mark on the championship scene.
