Hello fans and welcome to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter. Today, we cover Day 1 of HCW’s tribute to PWS on the 20th anniversary of the modified games’ release. Before we get into the show itself, we would like to send a message to PWS’s creator John:
One of the great
things about PWS is that it allows you to run fantasy matches that normally
would not happen in a professional wrestling ring. For this particular writer/fantasy federation
manager, it has made running the game that much easier. Thank you John for all the hard work and
maintenance you’ve invested into this game that allows our creativity to run
wild. We look forward to the next
generation of the game and I am truly excited to see where you take this. You are the MAN. BROTHER!

Pyro goes off and
our show is about to begin. GM Max
McGillicutty comes out and gives his thanks to PWS, the fans around the world
and especially those who took the time to join us for this monumental
occasion. Max is joined by long time
reporters Clarkus Kentus and Larry Morton who are here for this monumental
show. Max then once again thanks the
fans for attending this sold out show and to those at home watching the
PLE…oops, I mean PPV.
The show begins
with Tommy ‘the Morningstar’ Sullivan making his way out. The fans are unsure what to make of him so he
gets a mixed reaction. Barry
Morningstar’s music hits and he comes out with mic in hand and says Tommy is
trying to steal his gimmick. Barry is
joined by his manager the Ambassador and they head to the ring. Barry gets into the ring and immediately
confronts Sullivan. The Morningstar does
not back down. The match begins.

Morningstar’ Sullivan gets the win albeit by countout in his first HCW
match. Barry was half way up the ramp by
the time he noticed that his manager was not with him. He turns and sees the Ambassador speaking to
Sullivan. He then turns and leaves
catching up with Barry who begins yelling at him. The Ambassador puts his hand up right in
Barry’s face and says that he controls Barry’s contract, not HCW and that he is
now FIRED. Barry is livid. The Ambassador says that Tommy Sullivan will
be taking that spot. Barry grabs the
Ambassador by the collar and threatens to hit him but Tommy Sullivan runs over
and attacks Barry. He grabs him and
hurls him off the stage through tables and boxes below. The Ambassador brushes himself off and raises
the Morningstar’s arm. The fans now know
what to do and they BOO the duo.
Sullivan laughs at the fans and leaves with his new manager.
Larry Morton comes
out as our guest ring announcer for this match.
“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to a night of high-stakes action at the
HCW arena! We have a return grudge match that's been brewing for just a day but
for this man here, it seems like it never ended, and it's about to explode in
the squared circle.” The Banker’s and his manager, Ruth Heartless, music hits
and they make their way to the ring, ready to confront their adversary.
The Banker takes a
mic and looks at Larry before addressing his opponent: "Justin Winger, you
still have a debt to be paid. I’m not sure how much clearer I can make this for
you. Until this debt is paid, your brief moment here tonight in HCW will be
miserable."
Larry Morton:
"These words from The Banker are ominous, and he means business, folks.
Justin Winger is in deep trouble."
The Banker: "Just
the other day, I shut your smart mouth with my briefcase. Looks like I have to remind
you that you first need to pay your debts. Now it’s time for me to collect
those debts … in the ring."
Ruth Heartless:
"While it felt good to stamp ‘DENIED’ on Top Gun’s forehead, it just
wasn’t enough. He needs to feel pain over and over again in the ring."
The Banker:
"Winger, my briefcase and your face are becoming good friends! Tonight,
however, is your reckoning. Your road to any in-ring return ends here and now.
Since you refuse to pay your debts, I am left with no choice. Justin Winger,
it’s time for you to face REPOSSESSION!"
Larry Morton:
"Folks, this match is personal, and the stakes couldn't be higher. The
Banker is determined to extract his dues, and Justin Winger must now face
'Repossession' in the ring."
The tension is electric
as the competitors are about to collide. The HCW faithful are on the edge of
their seats, eagerly awaiting the showdown that will determine the future of
these two fierce rivals.
‘Top Gun’ Justin
Winger comes out to a nice pop from the crowd.
He high fives with the fans and makes his way to the ring. He is sporting a bandage on his head from
where the Banker bashed him with the briefcase.
The word “Denied” is barely legible as he must have used some strong
cleaner to get it off his face. He wants
revenge and he won’t stop till he gets it.

The Banker gets
the win and laughs. He points to his
head and Ruth raises his arm in victory.
He is unaware though that Winger is on his feet. Top Gun spins the Banker around and then
dazzles him with uppercuts before throwing him to the ropes and connecting with
a powerful dropkick. Winger goes to the
top rope and Ruth grabs him to keep him from executing whatever he was going to
do. He pushes her off the ring apron and
takes her out of the equation. He leaps
from the top rope and hits the Flyin’ & Stylin’ on the Banker. He then picks up the briefcase and the fans
pop. He helps the Banker to his
feet. Groggily, he tries to stand. Winger throws him the briefcase which he
catches. Winger then hits a superkick to
the briefcase which ricochets off the Banker’s head. He falls to the mat. Winger
feels some measure of revenge and leaves.
Ruth rushes in and tries to help the Banker to his feet. She takes the briefcase and he slowly comes
around and seeing Ruth holding it, starts asking if SHE hit him with it. He’s obviously delirious and storms off
leaving Ruth standing alone. She rushes
after him.
Up next is one of
those “What if” types of matches. What
if Jason Voorhees came off the silver screen and entered a wrestling ring? Well, we get to see that tonight. The inhabitant of Crystal Lake will be taking
on a man who wears a similar mask – Lord Humongous. Tonight, the two of them meet in a
Slaughterhouse Rules match – the Battle for the Hockey Mask. The creepy music plays and out comes Jason in
all his un-dead glory. He slowly makes
his way to the ring and enters. The ref
checks him out and when he finds a full sized machete on Jason, he admonishes
him and takes it away. Jason just looks
at him confused. The music changes and
out comes our other masked man – Lord Humongous. He makes his way to the ring and immediately
grabs a steel chair. He slams his own
head against it three times showing it will have no effect on him. The bell rings and this one is underway.
Match #3:
Lord Humongous vs Jason Voorhees in a Slaughterhouse rules match – The
Battle for the Hockey Mask. There is a
small, person-sized cage sitting at ringside.
I assume that loser has to be put in that cage for the match to end.

arena. A camera man follows them as they
make their way outside. Jason spots a
nearby lake. He drags the cage with a
trapped foe locked inside. Jason then
pulls the cage into the lake and they both disappear. A few bubbles break the surface and
then…nothing.
While all that was
transpiring, we were already getting ready for our next match. Dash Woodbrick, Pete ‘the PUN-isher’ Punsher
and Covfefe all make their way out to massive booing from the crowd. Covfefe was sporting his orange hair piece
that must have seen better days. The
fans booed until the music changed and out comes the Desperados – in full…El
Chango, the Stache and Leon Teremoto.
They get a HUGE pop as they make their way down to the ring. It’s great seeing these guys again and they
all look jacked and ready for this match.

The Desperados get
the win after Covfefe was abandoned by his team who thought he was an
egotistical maniac and should never have associated themselves with such a
doofus. As the Desperados were
celebrating, 3 masked men jump in from the audience and attack the trio. Stache was taken down first by throwing him
over the top rope. El Chango and Leon
were both rammed into the steel post.
One of the masked men grabbed the Stache and viciously threw him into
the steel steps. Security ran out but
the 3 mysterious people took off through the crowd. I am wondering if they are associated with
the woman who attacked Violet Valkyrie and Korbi Kong and if they were
responsible for the attack on Jack Lumber.
Hmmm. Clear as mud?
Our next match
brings back another Hall of Famer in the Unknown Assassin. Tonight, he battles The Masked Gentleman but
we know he passed away many years ago.
His son told Max that he wanted to wrestle in honor of his father. Max granted the request.
Match #5: The Clash of
Legends: The Unknown Assassin vs. Masked Gentleman II
The wrestling arena pulsated with
anticipation as two formidable wrestlers, The Unknown Assassin and the son
wrestling in honor of his father, Masked Gentleman II, took center stage. The
audience held their breath, eager to witness this momentous showdown.
The Unknown Assassin initiated the
match with a powerful piledriver, landing a significant move and scoring
crucial points. Masked Gentleman II bravely absorbed the punishment, showing
his resilience. In a swift retaliation,
Masked Gentleman II executed a superplex, aiming to gain an advantage. The
Unknown Assassin absorbed the impact of the move, showcasing his tenacity. As Masked Gentleman II attempted a pin, the
referee's hand counted, "1...2..." The Unknown Assassin powered out
of the pin, showing his determination to stay in the match. The Unknown Assassin followed up with a
fireman's carry roll, but Masked Gentleman II responded with a piledriver.
Attempting a pin, The Unknown Assassin was thwarted as Masked Gentleman II
kicked out. Engaging in a series of
maneuvers, The Unknown Assassin applied a nerve pinch while Masked Gentleman II
countered with a choke on ropes, displaying their tactical skills. Masked Gentleman II tried a superplex, but

Renewing their over
a decade love/hate relationship, two Hall of Famers meet once again. Owner ‘The Original Big Daddy’ Donnie B takes
on the Negronomicon. The Negronomicon
comes out first and is booed heavily as he makes his way down to the ring. Once in the ring, he grabs a mic and tells
them to stop the music and tells Donnie B to get his ass down to the ring. The music changes and out comes ‘The Original
Big Daddy’ and Hall of Famer Donnie B.
He interacts with the fans and then enters the ring. Clarkus Kentus, a guest ring announcer, is
standing by to ensure nothing goes awry.
He hands Donnie B a mic.
In the heart of this wrestling ring, the atmosphere
crackles with tension. Donnie B, an imposing figure with a heart of gold,
stands tall, surrounded by cheers and adoration from the audience. On the
opposite side, the Negronomicon, a sinister and calculating figure, basks in
the jeers and boos, reveling in the audience's disdain.

look) Well, well, well, what do we have here? The Negronomicon, hiding behind
his cloak of darkness, thinking he can scare us all! But you see, in this

Negronomicon: (Sneering, towering over Donnie B) Ah, Donnie B,
the so-called 'Original Big Daddy.' Your naivety blinds you! These people,
they're fickle, easily swayed by false promises. I, on the other hand, offer
the truth - the truth that power rules, and I am the embodiment of power!

may think he holds the key, but the only thing you're unlocking is chaos and

drives this world, Donnie! They fear me because they know I expose the harsh
reality. I am the reflection of their deepest, darkest desires.

B: (Shaking his head) No, what you offer
is a mirage, a twisted view that only leads to despair! You might have them
fooled for a moment, but the Original Big Daddy is here to remind them what
true strength is - it's standing together, supporting each other, and fighting
for what's right! (The crowd chants Donnie B's name)

who absorbed the impact once more. The
match intensified as Donnie B aimed for a neckbreaker. Simultaneously,

match, old allies/enemies meet up again after being inducted into the HCW Hall
of Fame. The married duo of Ravishing
Raquel and ‘the Elitist’ Reid Rothchild take on one-time GM Master Bull and
former ladies champion the Southern Belle.
Both teams make their way out.
The team of the Double R were booed but you could tell it was more of a
“thanks for all you did” type of boo and not “we hate your guts”. Bull and Belle came out to a nice pop. The four made it to the ring and Bull and

Two more Hall of
Famers return in the form of Drew the Canadian Love Machine and Scooter J. They will be teaming with Jack Lumber and the
Wicked Prophet respectively. Scooter J
comes out first to a respectful pop/booing fest from the fans. He is followed by the Wicked Prophet who is
booed horrendously. Once in the ring,
the music changed and we hear “TIMMMBERRRR” and out comes everyone’s favorite
flannel wearing lumberjack – Jack Lumber.
The pop from the crowd is huge.
Jack goes down and interacts with the fans in the Lumber Lounge section
while he waits for his partner. The
music changes again and out comes Drew.
The fans practically blow the roof off in seeing the return of perhaps
one of the most coveted performers to set foot in the wrestling ring. He is quickly overcome with emotion and after
taking a deep breath, lowers his head as pyro goes off around him. He walks down to the Lumber Lounge and
shakes hands with Jack and the two head to the ring. Scooter J is yawning and covering his
mouth. He yells at Jack and Drew to get
in the ring so they can kick their asses.
Jack and Drew each climb a turnbuckle and the pop from the crowd seems
to get louder. They step down and the
match is ready to begin.

little worse for wear after the mysterious woman attacked them during the Title
match in the steel cage. They both
insisted they would wrestle tonight.

The same woman who had intervened
during the intense cage match for the Ladies title between Violet and Korbi now
made a menacing appearance. Towering over everyone, her identity remained
concealed under a hooded cloak.

the mysterious woman launched a ferocious attack on Violet Valkyrie and Korbi
Kong. The crowd gasped as the assailant's strength seemed beyond human, leaving
both wrestlers incapacitated. Medical staff rushed to their aid as chaos
erupted around the ring.
Violet and Korbi were helped to the
back, both in need of urgent medical attention. The audience was left in shock,
murmurs and questions spreading like wildfire. Who was this mysterious
assailant, and what did they want? The shocking attack raised more questions
than answers.

uncertainty as officials and fans alike tried to make sense of the harrowing
assault. The shadow of the mysterious woman loomed over the arena, leaving

Violet and Korbi.

villains Dr. Red Fang and Freddy Krueger. We gonna show 'em a taste of Southern
hospitality... with a kick!
Texas Wildfire: Dr. Red
Fang and Freddy Krueger might think they're nightmares brought to life, but
we're the cowboys of the ring! Y'all might howl, but we're here to wrangle
ya'll down and extinguish that evil with our flames of justice!
'The Ragin Cajun' Rad Gumbo: Sacré bleu! You think you scare us with your fangs and
claws? Mais non! We gonna take you on like a gator in the bayou, and you'll see
the fury of a Cajun storm!
They then head to the ring.
Mr. X is backstage
and complains that he has not had his match nor does he see his name on the
match lineup. GM Max McGillicutty walks
over and says that due to time limit restrictions, his match had to be moved to
tomorrow. Mr. X is not happy with this
and storms off.

The stage is set for an intense
clash as the heroic duo of Texas Wildfire and 'The Ragin Cajun' Rad Gumbo stand
ready to face the ominous force brought forth by Dr. Red Fang and Freddy
Krueger. The anticipation in the arena grows as the clash between good and evil
is about to unfold in a battle that promises thrills, chills, and high-flying
action!
“Welcome to my
Nightmare” plays and out comes the dastardly trio of Freddy Krueger, the
Ambassador and finally, the evil vampire himself, Dr. Red Fang. The music briefly stops while “VAMPIRE LUNGES
FOR EVERYBODY” blasts through the loudspeakers.
The fans boo the trio as they make their way to the ring. They get in the ring and elicit more booing
from the fans. The music changes and and
we hear “Gumbo 7:30 means it’s suppa time, bitch” and out comes ‘The Ragin
Cajun’ Rad Gumbo and Texas Wildfire. The
pop they get is off the chart. Both men
look deeply moved at the crowd’s reaction.
They head to the ring slapping hands of the fans and then get into the
ring. The pop just won’t stop. Finally, after a couple of minutes, it begins
to die down and our match gets underway.
