Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter. (Editor’s note: Sorry but real life got in the way and it’s taken some time to get caught up again.) GM Max McGillicutty comes out and the fans pop for him. Max says he has a very important announcement to make but first, he says that this thing between Dash Woodbrick and Dennis Marshall needs to come to an end. Max says that tonight, the two will be in a ‘Loser leaves town’ match with the loser out of HCW. Now, for the big news…Tonight, we announce the first member of the HCW Hall of Fame Class of 2022 and it’s none other than….” (music plays and over the loudspeakers, we hear) “GUMBO 730 MEANS ITS SUPPA TIME, BITCH”. The fans pop as ‘The Ragin Cajun’ Rad Gumbo’s picture appears on the Omegatron. A 60 second video highlighting some of Rad’s crowing achievements (including the Frumble/Rumble at Fry’s Electronics as well as his dual King of HCW wins and a few of his World title wins). After the video ends, the fans give Rad a standing ovation.
The
joyous occasion is interrupted when Derek Deveraux comes out. The fans are not happy that he interrupted
Rad’s time. Derek gets on the mic and
says that the fans have their favorites such as Jack Lumber (pop) and the Steel
Curtain (pop) but he tried everything to get the fans to back him and they
wouldn’t get on board. He says that
Tommy Lightning got it right turning on the fans so that is what he’s going to
do to the no-good-for-nothing posers.
The fans boo. Derek says that he
doesn’t need the fans cheers and they can all go to hell. The fans booing gets louder and Derek flips
them off before leaving.
Kicking
off the show today is a match for the TV title.
First, the Banker’s music hits and he saunters down to the ring with his
manager Ruth Heartless and carrying his briefcase. The Banker gets on the mic and tells Master
Bull (the current TV Champion) that he is going to give him a one-final-time
offer. The Banker says that the briefcase
full of cash (Ruth opens it to show the crowd) is Bull’s if he lays down and
allows the title to change hands without breaking a sweat. The fans boo in earnest. Master Bull comes out to a nice pop from the
crowd. The TV Champion holds his title
high and the fans respond positively.
Bull makes his way to the ring and enters. He takes the mic from the Banker and says he
will NEVER lay down. The fans pop. He says that the Banker will have to
practically kill him to get the belt off of him. The Banker warns that he ALWAYS
collects. The bell rings. Master Bull
starts off with a cobra clutch and the Banker hits an Late charge con-chair-to. Bull comes back with a one armed choke slam and
the Banker hits a deposit diving DDT.
Bull hits another chokeslam and the Banker throws him out of the
ring. He distracts the ref and Ruth
blasts Bull with the briefcase. She hits
him a couple more times for good measure.
The Banker rolls out of the ring and nails a DDT on the floor. He almost missed his mark and rolled back in just
before the ref counted to 10. Master
Bull is counted out. The Banker gets the
win but does not win the title on a countout.
He is frustrated. He rolls out of the ring again and pushes Bull into
the ring. He takes the briefcase and
lays it on the ground. He then hits Bull
with a DDT on the briefcase busting him open.
The Banker says he wants a rematch and this time, Bull won’t be able to
hide behind a countout. He and Ruth
celebrate much to the fans’ chagrin and then leave. Bull is helped to the back.
Apollo
Gyze is backstage and says that Jack Lumber is not the rightful heir to the
throne and challenges him again but this time, he demands it be a specialty
match. Apollo promises to walk away with
the crown.
Master
Bull is being patched up. He tells the
Banker he agrees to a rematch however, keeping Ruth out of the equation is just
as important as keeping the Banker where he can beat him pillar to post. Bull agrees to put the title on the line in a
STEEL CAGE!
Next
up on the card is tag team action between the 5th Column and
Maximillian Redbeard/Superquake Ferguson.
Redbeard and Ferguson came out first to a nice pop from the crowd. The 5th Column (Baron von Blood
and Oswald Zimmerman) were treated the opposite. Once in the ring and after the bell rang,
Redbeard and Ferguson dominated the match keeping the Column at bay. At the 16 minute mark, Maximillian Redbeard
caught Zimmerman flying off the ropes and nailed a huge powerslam. Ferguson caught Baron trying to enter and
promptly dumped him over the top rope. At
the 16 minute mark, the ref made the count 1.2.3. Redbeard and Ferguson get the win and the
fans pop huge. Oswald and Baron sulked
to the back. Redbeard and Superquake
celebrated with the fans and then made their own way to the back.
Backstage,
Dash Woodbrick is pacing. He says that
Dennis has made a name for himself off of the Dashinator for long enough. Tonight, he sends Dennis packing for good.
Dennis
Marshall is in the interview area and says he heard what Dash said. Dennis says that Dash is the one who started
this but ‘the Marshall’ will be the one to finish it.
Our
next match is a Loser must leave HCW match.
This one will have Deathmatch rules.
There MUST be a winner. First,
Dash Woodbrick comes out first and the boos are so loud that it’s almost
deafening. He makes his way to the ring
and then climbs in. He flips off the fans
and waits. The music changes and the
fans pop for Dennis Marshall. Dennis
comes out and shakes hands with the fans as he makes his way to the ring. One of these two will be gone after this
match. The bell rings. (Editor’s note, Dash DOMINATED this match).

After
an EXHAUSTIVE 76 minute match, Dennis Marshall gets the win. This means Dash Woodbrick is out of a
job. The fans taunt Dash with the “Na,
Na, hey, hey, goodbye” chant as he is helped to the back. A totally drained Dennis Marshall also had
to be helped to the back (plus he had lots of cuts wore more red than
anything).
The
cleaning crew came out to clean up all the blood and broken glass from the ring. While that is going on, the Omegatron lights
up announcing an Elimination Chamber match where the winner will get a shot at
the World title at the PPV in April.
We
head back to the ring for our next match.
First, Ovaltine Jackson comes out to a nice pop from the crowd. He gets in the ring but his music is abruptly
shut off when the Wicked Prophet makes his way out. He is accompanied by lots of boos as he makes
his way to the ring. The match was a lot
closer than anyone expected but in the end, the Wicked Prophet gets the
submission win with the Crucifix Clutch at the 16 min mark. After the match, Prophet reminds Jack that he
is coming for him and the World Title.
Backstage,
Ladies champion Violet Valkyrie is being interviewed. Violet says she has Penny Hall tonight but
knows that sometime soon, she will have to meet her BFF Korbi Kong in the ring. Violet says “one match at a time” but we know
she’s already thinking about that match.
It’s
time for the main event. First, Penny
Hall makes her way out to booing from the crowd. She gets into the ring and waits. Next, the stage fills with fog and the Ladies
Champion Violet Valkyrie rushes out from the back and slides underneath the
bottom rope only for Penny to attack her before the bell even rings. The
sneak attack plus being distracted weighed negatively on the champ. Penny dominated the match but couldn’t put the
champ away. This one went 30 minutes and was declared a
draw after the bell rang signifying the end of the match. Penny was pissed and Violet looked a bit
relieved. Penny stormed off and Violet
hung out with the fans to bring this show to an end.
