Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter. Well, we’ve waited a couple of months for it but the Reign of Champions PPV is HERE! Each and every match tonight will have a title on the line.
We
cut to the arena as the show begins and pyro goes off as the spotlights zip
around the arena. We have a fully packed
show for you, the fans viewing us live and those tuning in from home. Here is how today’s card is looking:

We
cut backstage with Hardcore Champion Wilber Townsend. Wilber tells Phantom Frank this is his last
chance at this title. Up to this point,
he’s been very lackluster. If he doesn’t
impress tonight, he will linger in obscurity for all of eternity.
Our
first match of the evening is ready to go.
First, the lights start strobing and out comes Phantom Frank through a
cloud of smoke. He ‘drifts’ down to the
ring like a phantasm and enters. He
looks ready. The music changed and the
lights go dim. Out comes the Hardcore
Champion Wilber Townsend and he too is masked wearing his demented ‘Pennywise’
mask. He spooks some of the kids on his
way to the ring and the parents yelled at him.
He, of course, laughed. He climbs
into the ring and hands his title to the ref.
The ref calls for the match to begin.
Wilber started off by hurling Frank into the steel post and that set the
pace of the match. Frank stayed on the
defensive quite a bit of the match due to the brutality that Wilber brought
tonight. We join the match at the 16
minute mark.

Phantom Frank put up a good fight but it wasn’t enough to get him the
title. Phantom Frank heads to the back
while Wilber gloats in the ring and follows shortly thereafter.
Next,
we have 3 backstage segments. First,
Dennis Marshall thanks HCW for giving him an opportunity to fight for a title
as prestigious as the TV Title. He says
that champion Maximillian Redbeard is one tough hombre but the Banker is
devious. He will bring his A-Game
tonight. Next, we cut to the Banker and
his manager Ruth Heartless. The Banker
says he doesn’t care if it’s 1:1, 2:1, whatever. He promises he is walking out with the title
tonight. Lastly, Champion Maximillian
Redbeard says that he was looking forward to a one on one match with Dennis but
couldn’t pass up the opportunity to tear the Banker to shreds. Tonight, ‘the Beard’ reigns supreme.
We
head to the ring for our next match.
First, Dennis Marshall comes out to a good pop from the crowd. He shakes hands with the fans and makes his
way into the ring. Next, the Banker and
his manager Ruth Heartless come out and mock the fans as they make their way
ringside. As soon as they arrived, the
ref immediately sent Ruth to the back.
There went the Banker’s ace in the hole.
She stormed to the back just as the music changed and out comes the TV
Champion. Redbeard looks at Ruth as she
storms by and laughs. He then makes his
way to the ring randomly high fiving the fans.
He climbs up on the apron and steps over the top rope. He holds the TV title high eliciting a pop
from the crowd. He hands his title to
the ref and the match begins. Right off
the bat, the Banker and Dennis Marshall looked like they were forming an
alliance to take down the champ but the Banker turned on Dennis just as
quickly. Dennis was impressive in his
outing against the two ring veterans and held his own. There were many near falls by all 3 competitors
but the other made the save at the last moment.

leaves. Redbeard follows shortly thereafter.
We
head backstage where it seems our next match has already gotten underway. Dash Woodbrick attacked Master Bull and they
fought all around the back. They finally
spilled out to the arena floor and the match continued in the ring. Master Bull went for a few pin attempts but
the wily coyote kept kicking out. We
join the match at the 11 minute mark.

UNBELIEVABLE! Dash Woodbrick defeated Master Bull and has
become the Anytime/Anywhere Champion. He
snatches the title from the ref and runs around the ring like a crazy
person. He exits the ring, flips off a
few fans who were calling him names (Dude, sticks and stones) and went up to
the stage where he turned around showboating with his title and disappeared to
the back. In the ring, Master Bull was
shaking his head at the turn of events.
I think he may be up to something…he’s got this look in his eye. He heads to the back.
We
go backstage again to hear from the Wicked Prophet. “What is with these ‘wrestlers’ named after
states? Pathetic. TW in my mind stands for Toilet Wipe. Texas Wildfire, during
our fight you’ll be remembering the Alamo – especially the part where Texas
lost. Wildfire, I will snuff you out.
You’re more like a dumpster fire. Once I am done with you, you’ll want to
secede from hardcore wrestling.”
Wow. Brutal.
Now we head to hear from the US Champion Texas Wildfire. “Wicked Prophet, you are a lot of bark. Let’s see if you have some bite to accompany
that.” TW left and headed to the ring.
Our
next match is up and first, out comes the Wicked Prophet. He is booed as he makes his way to the
ring. He climbs in and after jaw jacking
with a fan, motioned like he was going to ‘break’ Wildfire. The music changed and out comes the US
Champion Texas Wildfire. The fans pop
huge and we cut back to the ring and see Prophet rolling his eyes. He mutters “sheep” as TW gets the fans
psyched up for this match. Wildfire gets
into the ring and climbs the turnbuckle holding his title high. After handing the belt to the ref, the match
begins.

indeed under the ropes. He then asks
Texas Wildfire if he’d be willing to defend the title again. TW agrees.

interacts with the fans for a few moments before heading back. Congratulations to our US Champion Texas

A
moment later, the Ambassador and the 6 Man Tag Team Champions Devastation Inc.
(Dr. Red Fang, Azrael & Barry Morningstar) make their way out and to the
ring amid boos from the crowd. The
Ambassador gets on the mic and claims that the Muscles Trio, who were supposed
to be their opponents tonight, took a wrong turn ‘Know your role Blvd’ and got
lost. The group laugh. The Ambassador says that with no opponents
tonight, it looks like they get the night off.
“Not so fast” comes across a mic
and out walks Dennis Marshall. Dennis
says that even though he had a tough match earlier, he can’t stand to see an
injustice happen. The Ambassador reminds
him that he is one person. Dennis is
then joined by Phantom Frank. Frank says
he’ll stand with Dennis. The duo are
then joined by Casper Wyoming. Dennis says that they have a team and it seems
that the fans will get a match tonight after all. The trio head to the ring and as soon as they
entered, Devastation Inc. attacked them but Dennis and team fought back. The match was solid with all 6 men beating
the holy hell out of each other. You
would have thought that with each of the challengers having wrestled earlier
this evening that they would have been too tired. Nope.
Even at 30 minutes, they were still going strong. We join the match at the 34 minute mark.

off. The fans are ecstatic and you can

Backstage,
the World Tag Team champions the Steel Curtain are being interviewed. Starbuck says that Tommy Lightning had his
feelings hurt (what seems like) years ago and he’s still harboring a
grudge. Buzz says Tommy can choose
whoever he wants but it doesn’t matter if it’s Tom, Dick, or Harry (Starbuck
leans in and adds “Or Larry, Darryl and Darryl”), he will not win tonight. Starbuck does his trademark “Word” and the
champs head to the ring.
As
our next match is ready to get underway, Tommy Lightning and ‘the Bounty
Hunter’ Jake Montrose make their way out to massive booing from the fans. Tommy flips the fans off and makes his way to
the ring. He gets on the mic once in the
ring and complains about not getting any interview time backstage. He says they are going to take it out on the
Steel Curtain. The fans begin a ‘BORING’
chant and that pisses Tommy off. The
fans then pop as the World Tag Team Champions the Steel Curtain make their way
out. Starbuck and Buzz stand on the
stage and soak in the cheers. They make
their way to the ring and high five with the fans as they head to the
ring. They get into the ring and each
champ climbs a different corner turnbuckle and hold their titles high eliciting
a much louder pop from the fans. They
step down and ignore the glares from Tommy.
Once the belts are handed to the ref, the match begins. The Steel Curtain dominated their opponents
double teaming every chance they got.
Tommy and Jake just couldn’t keep up.
12 minutes in, Tommy goes to the outside and sets up a table before
climbing back on to the apron. A minute
later, Buzz hit the ropes just where Tommy was standing and knocked him off the
apron. Tommy went flying and landed and crashed
through the table. Tommy appeared to
have gotten injured and he was out of the rest of the match. The Steel Curtain double teamed Jake for a
couple of minutes. We now join the match
at the 16 minute mark.

The
Steel Curtain get the win and retain their titles. Medics come out and take Tommy to the
back. Jake goes with him. The champions stay and interact with the fans
for a few minutes before making their way to the back.
GM
Max McGillicutty says that tensions have escalated between Jack Lumber and Rad
Gumbo so instead of making them wait until the main event, that match will be
up next.
King
Rad Gumbo is backstage with his manager Ms. Alexandria. “Mon Ami, Jack Lumber, you are da World
Champion. I am da challenger. I’ve beaten you before; I’ll do it
again. See you in da ring.” Rad and his manager leave.
Larry
Morton is backstage with the World Champion Jack Lumber. Larry asks if Jack is ready for this match. “Listen
Larry, you are not the first one to ask me this question. All the member of the Lumber Lounge have
asked the exact same thing. I am
ready. Yes, Rad Gumbo defeated me before
to win this title. This time, I’m more
experienced; I’m more patient. King Rad,
you are a true Ragin Cajun but tonight, with the power of the Lumber Lounge
behind me, I will be victorious.” Jack
heads to the ring.
The
first of our main events is ready to begin.
First, we hear blare out “GUMBO 730 MEANS ITS SUPPA TIME BITCH” and out
comes the King of HCW, Rad Gumbo. Gumbo
is wearing his crown and cape and regally walks to the ring. The fans are not happy with Gumbo’s turn and
they let him know it. He ignores the
fans and makes his way into the ring. He
removes his cape and crown and hand them to his manager. Gumbo stretches and then we hear “CHOPPIN
WOOD AND LOOKIN GOOD” and out comes OUR World Champion Jack Lumber. The fans pop HUGE for Jack and he comes out
to soak in the adulation of the fans. He
immediately makes his way to the Lumber Lounge and thanks all the fans there. He continues his journey to the ring and
enters through the ropes. He climbs the
corner turnbuckle and holds the title high as the fans pop gets louder and
louder. He steps down and hands the
title to the ref. Jack extends his hand
and Rad slaps it away. This one gets
underway.

high and the fans pop even louder. Rad
Gumbo gets into Jack’s face and after a staredown, Rad extends his hand. Jack and the fans are stunned. Jack looks to the fans and they cheer him
on. Jack shakes Rad’s hand much to the
delight of the crowd. Rad leaves with
his manager allowing Jack to stay in the ring and celebrate with his fans. Jack leaves after a few minutes.
‘Sassy’
Maxine DeVito is backstage and she’s laughing.
“Violet, you are as dumb as you are, well, dumb. You walked into a classic trap and there is
no way out. You have put the final nail
in your own coffin. I promise to be
laughing at you as you leave the business forever. HAHAHAHAHA”.
Maxine then walks off.
Larry
Morton is with Ladies Champion Violet Valkyrie.
“Maxine, you say you outsmarted me.
You can’t believe, for a minute that I didn’t know what you were up
to. I know exactly why you chose the
stipulation the way you did.” She
motions to something next to her. ‘Broken’
Korbi Kong is duct taped to a chair. “If
this was your secret weapon,” Violet adds, “you’re out of luck. Tonight, HCW is rid of you for good. I’ll see you in the ring bitch.” Violet heads to the ring.
It’s
time for our 2nd Main Event.
First, ‘Sassy’ Maxine DeVito comes out and she doesn’t look very
happy. It seems that Violet has disabled
Maxine’s ‘secret weapon’ and now has to fight this fight all on her own. She flips off fans and gets in the ring. She doesn’t have to wait long and the stage
fills with fog. Like a bullet, Violet
comes zooming out on the zip line that takes her right to the ring. She lowers herself and disengages from the
harness. She removes the Ladies Title
and climbs the turnbuckle holding the title high. Maxine attacks Violet to get this match
started. Reminder, this is a No
Disqualification match where the loser must retire for good.

Sassy Maxine DeVito grabs a steel chair and hits
Violet in the head with it knocking her down.
She then calls Korbi in the ring and hands her the chair. She tells Korbi to finish her. Korbi is about to slam a chair down on
Violet, ending her, when a little girl from the crowd comes running to ringside
to stop her because she knows deep down Korbi Kong is one of the good ones! She
started out as a fan! She can’t be evil!! Korbi Kong is conflicted as her brain
starts to override the evil brainwashing and she finally remembers who she
really is. She turns around to a maniacal Maxine saying “FINISH HER” not
realizing Korbi Kong is back to her true self. She slams the chair over Maxine’s
head knocking her out cold.

Valkyrie (f) looks at Korbi and the two embrace. Korbi leaves the ring and then, after a huge
pop from the crowd, Violet hits Maxine with an EXPLODER SUPLEX....

HCW. She’s scrappy so it’s possible she’ll
end up in a different federation. Violet
climbs each corner turnbuckle and holds the title high. She stays and interacts with the fans as the
show comes to an end.
