Hello
fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling
Newsletter. Well, today’s issue is the
go-home show…the final house show before the Meltdown PPV coming this Sunday. Before we get to that show though, we have to
make it through tonight. Maxine and ‘Broken Korbi’ have accepted the
challenge from Violet and Queen Goldie.
GM Max McGillicutty, however, doesn’t want all hell to break loose so he
is appointing a special guest referee…the small but powerful Hayley
Hailstorm. We have a lot to get through
so let’s get the action moving.
Before
the first match can begin, we hear that there is a commotion taking place
backstage. We see Albert Perez holding a
steel chair and standing over Derek Deveraux.
Albert (don’t call me Al) Perez says he’s standing tall while Derek lays
on the floor bleeding. Perez says he’ll
see Derek in a steel cage on Sunday.
Our
first match is ready to get underway.
First, Billy Robbins makes his way out first to a pop from the
crowd. He interacts with the fans as he
makes his way to the ring. He gets in
and starts to psyche up the crowd but the music changes and the fans boo loudly
as Albert Perez comes waltzing out holding the bloody steel chair. He drops it and starts the walk to the
ring. The fans boo him but he mostly
ignores them. He gets into the ring and
immediately attacks Billy. It only
takes Billy a moment or two to take back control of the match and dominate
Albert. To stop the momentum, Albert
hurls Billy over the top rope to the floor and then turns to jaw jack with the
fans. Just then, a bandaged and bloody
Derek Deveraux came out, grabbed the chair and head to ringside. The ref was counting so he didn’t see Derek
approach. Derek smashed Albert with the
chair in the gut buckling him over.
Albert turned around only to see that Billy climbed back up to the top
turnbuckle. When Albert turned around
(he heard the crowd start to pop), he got caught by a moonsault from
Billy. Billy then connected with a
standing suplex and a cover getting the 3 count. Billy Robbins scores the win. (14 min)
Derek Deveraux then entered the ring and started to go after Albert. Albert backed up/crawled to the corner
begging to not get hit. Derek looked to
the crowd and Albert used that brief distraction to hit Derek with a low blow
and then rolled out of the ring and rushed to the back. Derek, pissed off, took off after him.
Texas
Wildfire is backstage being interviewed.
He is the current #1 contender to the US title. During the interview, the Ambassador and
Azrael barge in. The Ambassador laughs
at the thought of Wildfire being the #1 contender when he just lost the
Hardcore title. The Ambassador says that
Texas Wildfire is not fit to be a top contender but Azrael is. Azrael just stands there with his arms
crossed. Wildfire says that if Azrael
wants a shot at him, he’s welcome to a match tonight with the winner getting
the next shot at the US title. The
Ambassador walks off laughing. Azrael
follows.
Our
next match is ready to get underway. The
winner of this contest will be the official #1 contender to the US title and
will get that match at the PPV. First,
Azrael and the Ambassador make their way out to massive boos from the crowd. Azrael looks upon them with disdain. They enter the ring and the onslaught of
negativity continues. The fans then pop
as Texas Wildfire’s music plays and out comes the fan favorite. TW shakes hands with the fans and makes his
way around the ring visiting with the fans at ringside. He climbs the steps keeping an eye on his
opponent and slimy manager. The two men
began slugging it out as soon as the bell rang.
This match was almost perfectly lined up as neither really got a leg up
over the other. We now join the match at
the 14 minute mark.

The
Ambassador couldn’t stand to see his charge potentially get pinned so he shoved
the ref causing the disqualification.
Wildfire threw Azrael over the top rope to the floor. He then grabbed the Ambassador by the lapels
of his jacket and threatened to punch him.
Just when we thought TW was going to take off the Ambassador’s head,
Azrael pulled his manager to safety and the two made their way to the back. Wildfire stayed and celebrated with the fans
before heading to the back.
‘Broken’
Korbi Kong and ‘Sassy’ Maxine DeVito are backstage. Maxine says that tonight, they soften up
Violet so she won’t be 100% for her match with Korbi. She says that Korbi isn’t so much interested
in winning the title as she will be there to teach Violet a lesson. ‘Broken Korbi’ just stares blankly at the
camera.
Back
at the ring, Outback Oscar had already made his way out and is working on
getting the crowd psyched up. The music
changed and the fans boo as the Wicked Prophet makes his way out. He walks, stoically, down to the ring. He ignores the fans and enters the ring. The match begins. The match doesn’t go very long with Prophet
taking control after the first minute of the match. Early on, Prophet locked Oscar in the
Crucifix Clutch but Oscar made it to the ropes.
After a couple of minutes, Prophet drops Oscar with the SMITE. He then drags Oscar to the middle of the ring
and locks in the Crucifix Clutch. Oscar
has no choice and taps out. Wicked
Prophet gets the win in 6 minutes. Just
then, Casper Wyoming comes out and he and Prophet begin fighting. Casper went for a lariat but Prophet ducked
and hit him with the SMITE. He followed
it up with the Unrighteous Dominion.
Prophet stood over Casper and finally began to crack a smile and then
Casper started to get to his feet.
Prophet then took the time to casually leave the ring but picked up the
pace when Casper started to go after him.
It’s fortunate that these two will meet in a few days.
Backstage,
the Snake Pit mock the Steel Curtain for losing the Six Man Titles but then
turn around and think they should get the next title match. Niven Snake says that THEY are the ones
entitled and should be in that tag team match at the PPV. GM Max McGillicutty overhears this and says
he knows the Curtain will accept so there will be a match tonight.
The
Snake Pit, Tobias and Niven Snake, accompanied by their brother Leiton, stand
on the stage and do a collective fist bump.
Tobias and Niven then begin the walk to the ring. Even though they are not necessarily ‘bad
guys’, the fans boo them only because of who they are taking on. Once in the ring, they prepare. The music changes and out comes the Steel
Curtain. The fans pop huge as Starbuck
and Buzz Steel come out and stand on stage.
They then begin the walk to the ring shaking hands with the fans. Upon entering the ring, they each climb a
corner turnbuckle and hold both arms in the air eliciting an even louder pop
from the fans. They step down and the
match is ready to go. For the first two
minutes of the match, both teams were pretty evenly matched up. After that though, the Curtain took over and
dominated the rest of the match. We join
the match at the 12 minute mark.

Steel Curtain get the win and solidify their claim for the tag team match. Just as they get their arms raised in
victory, Dash Woodbrick appears out of nowhere and blasts both men with steel
chair shots. Dennis makes his way out
shaking his head at the chaos that Dash continues to sow. Dash stands over the Steel Curtain, bloody
chair in hand, laughing and then eventually leaves. He yells at Dennis to follow him.
We
head backstage where Violet Valkyrie is cutting a promo. In walks Hayley Hailstorm wearing a referee’s
outfit. Hayley tells Violet she will
call the match right down the middle.
She adds that if Maxine gets involved, she will deal with her
appropriately.
It
is time for our MAIN EVENT. First, Hayley
makes her way out first and gets into the ring.
Next, some really sad, slow music plays and out comes ‘Broken’ Korbi
Kong accompanied by ‘Sassy’ Maxine DeVito.
The duo are booed as they make their way to the ring. Maxine gets into the ring first and holds a
piece of paper in Hayley’s face. It
states that she is there acting as ‘Broken Korbi’s’ manager for this match. Hayley quickly reads it and allows Maxine to
stay at ringside. The music changed and
the Ladies Champion Violet Valkyrie comes racing out from the back like a
bullet. Korbi and Maxine jump out of the
ring. Violet looks on with hatred as her
former friend and enemy. She climbs the
turnbuckle and holds the title high. She
steps down keeping a wary eye out to ensure she is not jumped. She finally hands the title to Hayley who
holds in high and signals for the start of the match. Korbi makes her way back in and this one gets
underway. This one doesn’t go very long
before Maxine gets involved and shoves Hayley for not calling the match
legit. Hayley disqualifies Korbi due to
outside interference. Maxine jumps in
and starts to attack Violet when Queen Goldie Locks runs out for the save. She evens the playing field. Hayley then makes an executive decision that
Goldie will team up with Violet and ‘Broken Korbi’ and Maxine will team
up. She starts the match now.
