HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #788 – Phoenix Heat (08/14)

Hello fans and welcome to another installment of HCW’s Phoenix Heat show.  Today’s show has shifted a bit east and will be coming to you live from Mesa, AZ.  After pyro goes off, we cut back to the office of GM Ruth Heartless.  In with her is former GM Master Bull.  She states that Bull continues to be a thorn in her side and tonight, she has a plan to rectify it.  She says that tonight, Master Bull will be in a 4 person gauntlet match.  Each match will have a 10 minute time limit.  If Bull gets the pin or can last the full 10 minutes, he will move on to the next round.  If, however, he submits, gets pinned or gets counted out, he will lose his shot at the PPV against TV Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine.  Bull stands up and says that as a former “warrior” (he was once a member of the Super Warrior’s stable as the Roman Warrior), he will take everything Ruth throws at him and will throw it back in her face.   Bull then walks out.  “You think so Bull…we’ll see about that” she mutters and an evil smile comes across her face.

The show begins with the World Tag Team Champions the Jacks (Mean Jack Mason and Angry Jack Lawson) making their way down to the ring.  They get in the ring and Mean Jack takes a mic and starts mocking Superquake and Maximillian about how they couldn’t win a simple match with a 30 minute time limit.  This brings out Superquake and Redbeard and Redbeard has a mic of his own.  He throws down a challenge right here and now for a title match.  Angry Jack refuses stating that it’s not approved by the “championship committee”.  Ferguson counters with a non-title match.  Mean Jack says that if they can beat the champs in a non-title match tonight, they can get a title shot at the PPV HOWEVER if they lose tonight, they will never get another shot at the belts.  Maximillian accepts.  He and Ferguson then walk down to the ring as it looks as that match is happening NOW.  Much to everyone’s surprise, Maximillian and Ferguson held the control for the first 10 minutes of the match.  The tide turned after Mean Jack stepped on Redbeard’s throat with his boot choking him out.  Angry Jack comes in and is powerslammed by Redbeard.  Angry Jack retaliates with an angry slam and tags Mean Jack back in.  Mean Jack hits a belly to back suplex and then Redbeard hits the Mac Attack out of nowhere.  Maximillian makes the quick cover and hooks the leg to get the 3 count.  Redbeard and Ferguson get the win and solidify themselves into a title match at the PPV.  The champs slunk out of there allowing the winners time to interact with the fans before heading to the back.  (12 min)

Master Bull comes out next to a pop from the crowd.  He says he is ready for whatever Ruth wants to throw at him.  Bull’s first opponent is the Axe.  Axe comes out and storms down to the ring ready to beat someone up.  As Axe rushes the ring, Bull bails and lets Axe stew in the ring for a few moments before he gets back in.  Bull managed to stay one step ahead of the Axe and right at the 10 minute mark, he plants Axe with a Roman Powerslam.  He went for the pin but only got a 2 count before the bell rang bringing this one to a draw.  Master Bull moves on.

Bull remains in the ring for his next opponent.  Out comes Butch Huber who is booed as he makes his way down to the ring.  Once again, Bull dominated but as the match went on, Huber began to mount a comeback and as the time limit approached, Butch connected with a Discuss Lariat and went for a pin but only got a 2 count before the time limit expired.  Once again, Bull survived and moves on to the next opponent.

Bull’s third opponent comes out and it’s 5^th Column member Oswald Zimmerman.  He also is booed pretty heavily as he makes his way to the ring.  It was apparent that Bull was running out of steam but Oswald couldn’t manage to keep Bull down for a 3 count.  Another time limit was reached and once again, Master Bull survived.  Bull has made it ¾ of the way.  He only has one match left.  GM Ruth Heartless comes out and says that she’s not as cold hearted as some people think so she is giving Bull a breather and will let him try to recover in the little time he has (actually, it was an off-screen call from GM Max McGillicutty who demanded it).  She has a doozy set for Bull’s final opponent so he needs to rest up for it so he can’t complain when he loses.

Bull heads to the back exhausted but is determined to finish the gauntlet.

The Iron Sheik comes out to booing from the fans.  He gets in the ring and insults the fans and also Rad Gumbo.  Gumbo comes out to confront Sheik in the ring.   Sheik removes his shirt and says “Look at this chest Gumbo Cajun.  You only wish you looked like the Sheik.”  Gumbo shakes his head.  “Look at that chest?  What about look at that gut!”  The fans explode in laughter and Sheik attacks Gumbo beating him down.  He locks Gumbo again in the camel clutch and it takes 6 referees to break the hold.  Sheik gets on the mic and challenges Gumbo to a Persian Death Match at the PPV.  Sheik promises once and for all to rid HCW of the Ragin Cajun.  As the Sheik was leaving, the fans chanted “Look at that gut” at him as he made his way to the back.  Gumbo has to be helped to the back.

Next up is a Ladies placement challenge.  First, Lady Hermann makes her way out to booing from the crowd.  Next, Leslie Grimes comes out to a small pop from the crowd.  Lady Hermann tries to take the early advantage but Leslie is more than up to the challenge.  About 12 minutes in, Lady Hermann almost got disqualified for choking Leslie on the top rope but it did what was intended which was to give her the advantage for the rest of the match.  It was not, however, enough for her to secure a win before the bell rang bringing this one to a time limit draw.  Leslie rolls out of the ring to avoid any further attacks.  Leslie retains her spot in the top 10.  (20 min draw)

Col. Flagg is backstage and he calls El Chango “inferior” to the superior might that is the Greatest American Hero – no not the guy in the red tights (nod to the 80’s show)…him.   Tonight, he has to wrestle someone just as…off.  Davis Hoffmeister.   He shakes his head and walks away.

We head back to the ring for the next match.  Davis ‘the Hoff’ Hoffemeister comes out to one of the loudest pops from the fans.  He takes his time interacting with the fans.  As he is making his way around the ring, his music is cut off when Col. Flagg makes his way down to the ring.  He sneers at Davis and gets into the ring.  He grabs a mic and tells Davis to stop pandering to the crowd and get into the ring.  Davis smirks and gets in.   Davis enters the ring but Flagg attacks him.  Davis shrugged off the attack and took control of the match.  7 minutes in, the ref gets “accidentally” bumped and Flagg uses that time to eye gouge Davis.  He then picks him up and crotches him on the top rope.  The ref recovers and Flagg hits the Patriotic Inverted Slam.  Davis is unable to kick out and the ref counts to 3 and awards the match to Col. Flagg.  Flagg parades around the ring gloating over his win.  He makes like he’s going to attack Davis but El Chango comes out and rushes down to the ring.  Flagg bails cursing at El Chango and takes off through the crowd grabbing El Chango signs from the fans and tearing them up.  El Chango helps Davis to his feet and the two shake hands before leaving.  (8 min for the match; 5 for the aftermath)

GM Ruth Heartless goes to check on Bull.  Bull says he knows Ruth had nothing to do with allowing him to rest (he looks to the camera and says “Thanks Max”).  Ruth tells him that his final match will be the main event and that she has a surprise for him.  Bull asks if Ruth will bother to tell him who it is.  She tells him he will have to wait…just like the other humanoid fans.  The fans boo and she turns to the camera and tells them to shut their traps.  She dismisses Bull telling him to go get ready.  Bull leaves.  Ruth smiles evilly. 

The next match begins with Snake Pit member Leiton Snake making his way out.  He is booed as he heads down to the ring.  Next, the familiar chime of a bell sounds and out comes the King of Cones Magnum Kone.  The fans pop as the ice cream man makes his way out handing out treats to the fans.  Leiton is impatient and goes over and knocks Magnum’s cart over spilling out the contents.  He attacks Magnum throwing him into the ring.  He dazes Magnum with a Curb stomp and that set the pace for the rest of the match.  Magnum tried to fight back but that kick to the head he took slowed him down.  At the 16 minute mark, Leiton hits the Curb Stomp again and makes the cover to get the 1-2-3.  Leiton gets the win much to the dismay of the fans.  After the match, the fans give Magnum a standing ovation.  Magnum interacts with the fans briefly before leaving.  (16 min)

It’s time for our main event and the final match for Master Bull in his gauntlet challenge.  Bull comes out to a pop and he looks better after having gotten a break.  He gets into the ring and takes a mic asking who his final challenger is.  GM Ruth Heartless comes out and says that she’s found the perfect person to take on Bull and out comes…the Banker.  The fans boo the crap out of him as he saunters his way down to the ring.  He mocks Bull from the outside of the ring and flicks his fingers at Bull motioning he needs to move away.  Just as he was entering the ring, Bull kicks the middle rope and it hits the Banker right in the soft spot.  The Banker’s eyes go all wide and he falls into the ring gasping for breath.  Bull nods to the ref to start the match.  Bull controls the match for the first few minutes but then the Banker, after distracting the ref, hits Bull with a low blow to “even the odds”.  The Banker hits an Interest Rate inverted face lock but Bull powers out and hits a one-armed chokeslam.  Bull winds up and hits a Roman power punch. He goes for a quick pin but the Banker kicks out at 1.  Bull then hits a Roman Powerbomb and makes the cover hooking the leg and the ref counts 1-2-3.  Master Bull gets the win and with this, he survived the gauntlet and is now guaranteed the match against Drew for the TV title.  The fans pop as Bull stands tall in the ring and the show comes to an end.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #787 – Tacoma Thunder (08/11)

Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of HCW’s Tacoma Thunder.  As the PPV gets closer at the end of the month, we are also approaching our next hiatus.  After the PPV, we will be taking time a couple of weeks off again to give the roster time to heal after what we expect to be a brutal show with our performers putting everything on the line for the fans. 

Pyro goes off and our first match of the evening is ready to get underway.  First, Adam Jameson makes his way out to a nice pop from the crowd.  Once in the ring, his music is shut off and then we hear “APOLLO GYZE DON’T APOLOGIZE” and out comes Apollo who the fans boo as loudly as they can.  Apollo looks on them with disdain and heads to the ring.  He gets in and does his thing to get the crowd totally against him.  Apollo starts off with attempting a jumping clothesline but it’s immediately nullified and Adam catches him with a flying dropkick.  Apollo hits a Gorilla press drop moonsault and he goes for the pin but then over the loudspeakers blares “Killa Pops is in da hooooooooose”.  Apollo gets up and stands at the ropes watching as Killa Pops comes out and stands on stage.  Apollo is seething.   He turns around only to get hit with a spin kick.  Adam makes the cover and barely gets the 3 count.  Adam Jameson gets the win.  After the ref raised his arm, he took off to avoid Apollo trying to retaliate.  Pops stood on the stage laughing at Apollo and then turned and left…his job done for now.  Apollo left to “You got pinned” chants from the crowd.  (9 min)

GM Max McGillicutty is in his office with Nix Anderson.  Nix says that he wants another shot at Marvin Barnes and when he wins, he wants a rematch for the Hardcore title against Dr. Red Fang at the PPV.  Max agrees to the stipulation and says that if Nix is victorious tonight, the match at the PPV is his.

Match #2 is ready to begin.  First, the twins of HCW Betsy and Felicia Cummings make their way out to booing from the fans.  They make their way down to the ring but the ref stops Felicia and sends her to the back much to the disappointment of her sister.  The ref threatens to disqualify Betsy if Felicia doesn’t leave.  Felicia leaves.  New music hits and the fans pop as Hayley Hailstone makes her way out.  She high fives the fans and heads down to the ring.  Betsy motions like she’s going to break Hayley but Hailstone just smiles back.  Hayley dominated the match and it doesn’t seem like a switch with her twin would have done any good.  The odd thing about this match is that Hayley didn’t go for many pin attempts.  Once the match passed the 15 minute mark, it was apparent that she was going to take this one the distance to help with her cardio.  As we entered the 20 min mark, Hayley planted Betsy with a Tornado DDT but once again didn’t go for the pin.  She let the time limit expire and this one ends in a draw but she was in good form and looks ready to take on Violet for the Ladies Title.  Hayley asks for a mic and says that this match proved she can go the distance and still be dominating.  She questions as to why the Ladies Champion hasn’t accepted her challenge for a title match at the PPV so she’s putting it out there again.  “Violet, the two of us can tear down the house.  Accept my challenge and you and I can have a match of the year.  What do you say?”  The Ladies Champ has yet to arrive so there isn’t going to be a reply yet but we are confident Violet will have a response later today.  (20 min draw)

Backstage, Apollo is taking his frustrations out on anything not tied down.  He turns and talks to someone off camera (we can’t see who it is) and says he’s tired of Killa Pops showing up during his matches so he hopes that this is the right decision.  The voice from off camera replies “Trust me, it will be.  Killa has always been like this.  I know him and can help you defeat him.”  Apollo smiles and says “Sounds like a plan.”

Match #3 begins with “I’ve got some bad news for ya” blaring over the loudspeakers and out comes ‘Bad News’ Marvin Barnes.  The fans boo him and after flipping them off, he makes his way to the ring.  After getting in the ring, the music changes and out comes Nix Anderson. The bell rings as soon as Nix got into the ring and for 3 minutes, he and Barnes went toe to toe.  After that, Nix hit Barnes with the Ukulele smash and went for a pin but only got a 2 count.  Barnes tried for a comeback bouncing off the ropes but he never did anything.  Nix manages to snag him and hit a swinging neckbreaker.  He went for the pin and put his foot on the bottom rope (that is what Barnes did to him in their last match) and he got the 1-2-3.  Nix gets the win and with that, solidifies his match for the PPV.  Nix gets on the mic and calls out the Ambassador.   The Ambassador comes out and stands on the stage.  Nix says he won and now wants the official acceptance of his challenge for the Hardcore title at the PPV.  The Ambassador goes on blah blah blah and what he was doing was taking Nix’s attention from what was happening behind him.  Nix realized it was a ploy at the last moment turning around only to get hit by a Vampire Lunge from Dr. Red Fang.  Nix is down.  The Ambassador makes his way to the ring and leans in saying that Dr. Red Fang accepts the challenge.  Fang and the Ambassador leave to boos from the crowd.  Nix is able to make it to the back under his own power.  (9 min for the match; 5 for the aftermath)

The team of Maximillian Redbeard, TNT and Superquake Ferguson are being interviewed.  Tonight, they get a shot at the 6 man tag team titles held by the Steel Curtain and Biceps Bannerman.  Maximillian says that taking nothing away, the champs are great but they have not met this trio.  When asked about if they were concerned that rumors were that the World Tag Team the Jacks were in the building, Superquake said that if they stick their noses into their match, they will be removed the hard way.  Finally, TNT was asked if he’d heard from Scooter J since he took off time to recover.  TNT says that SJ is looking for “his smile” and once he finds it, he will be back in the ring dominating like never before.  The trio walk off.

The match kicks off with Bishop Ripley making his way out to the ring to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Over the loudspeakers blares (there sure is a lot of that going on as of late) “Killa Pops is in da hoooooose” and the fans pop as Killa makes his way to the stage.  He begins the journey to the ring high fiving the fans as he makes his way down.  Once the match began, it was only a matter of time before Apollo Gyze came out to distract Killa.  Killa was not happy with the appearance and it cost him the match after getting caught with the Alien Resurrection from Bishop.  Apollo sauntered his way down to the ring mocking Killa.  Kill got to his feet and the fans gasped as someone entered the ring from the other side.  Killa turns around and his eyes go wide.  “Cocoon?” he asks before being leveled by a huge clothesline.  Apollo joins in the ‘fun’ and assists the new guy with beating down Killa.  Apollo takes a mic and introduces the man who will not only help him eliminate Killa Pops but to be in his corner for his World title match.  Apollo has an evil smile cross his face as he re-introduces the world to the Big Cocoon.  The two leave the ring and Killa ends up needing to be helped to the back.  (7 min for the match; 5 for the aftermath)

Ladies Champion Violet arrives in her limo.  She walks into the building to get ready for her match tonight.

We head back to the ring for the 6 man tag team title match.  First, TNT, Maximillian Redbeard and Superquake Ferguson all come out to a nice pop from the crowd.  Once in the ring, the music changed and the fans popped huge as the Steel Curtain (Buzz and Starbuck Steel) and Biceps Bannerman – the champs – made their way out.  They high fived with the fans as they made their way to the ring.  Each man entered and climbed their own corner turnbuckle holding their titles high.  The fans popped even louder.  They, in turn, handed their belts to the ref who placed them outside the ring.  The six men stood toe to toe in the middle of the ring.  They each shook hands and then went back to their corners.  The challengers started off strong tagging in and out to keep their man fresh.  The champs struggled a bit against the frequent tags but at 18 minutes in, the champs took over and took control of the match.  27 minutes in, the challengers triple teamed Biceps Bannerman severely weakening him.  Superquake followed it up with the Cutting Edge.  He went for the pin but Biceps got his foot on the bottom rope at 1.  Biceps makes it to his feet and throws Ferguson out of the ring.  He then makes the hot tag to Starbuck.  Just as Superquake came back in, Starbuck attempted to bodyslam him however the weight was too great and Ferguson fell on top of him.  The ref began to count but Buzz was able to make the save.  Just then, the bell rang bringing this one to a 30 min draw finish.   The match ends with all 6 men exhausted.  Just then, the Jacks (Mean Jack Mason and Angry Jack Lawson) grab TNT and chokeslam him through a table.  They then attack Ferguson and Redbeard and fought all the way to the back.  The champs were going to help but they were attacked by Wilber Townsend, Anthony Boom and Leon Teremoto.  Wilber managed to hit the GTS (Go to Sleep) on all 3 of the champs.  He then threw out the challenge again for a match at the PPV.  He anxiously awaits their response.  As they started to leave, Buzz got to his feet first and told Wilber and gang they would accept the match at the PPV.   The fans popped but Wilber smiled this crazy smile back at them and continued on his way to the back.  Buzz helped Starbuck and Biceps up and they made their way backstage.

We’re sitting with Killa Pops.  He’s muttering something to himself.  “Well, damn, I didn’t see that coming.  Best think of something.”  He must have as a big smile crossed his face.  I guess we’ll have to wait and see what that is.

It’s time for our main event.  The Ladies title is on the line.  Sarona Reiher makes her way out first to booing from the crowd.  Once in the ring, Violet’s music hits and out comes the champ.  She stands on the stage as pyro and fog fill in around her.  She rushes down to the ring, sliding under the bottom rope.  She takes her title, climbs a turnbuckle and holds it high.  She does this in each corner.  Sarona is tapping her foot waiting impatiently for the match to begin.  Violet hands off the title and the bell rings starting this one off.  Violet controlled the match early but then Sarona began mounting an offense.  Sarona hit two consecutive Superfly Splash from the top rope but Violet made it to the ropes to prevent a pin attempt.  She got back to her feet and caught Sarona with a jumping knee smash stunning her.  Violet then locked in the triangle choke in the middle of the ring.  Sarona thrashed about but was not able to break the hold or make it to the ropes so she ended up tapping out.  Violet gets the win and retains her title.  As the ref hands her the belt, she asks for a mic.  “You know little one, for something so small, you make a lot of noise.  Yes, I heard you the first time and YES I accept you challenge for THIS belt at the PPV.  Time to tear down the house.”  The fans pop huge and the show comes to an end with Violet standing tall in the middle of the ring.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #786 – Phoenix Heat (08/07)

Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of HCW’s Phoenix Heat.  Tonight’s card has two title matches with Drew the CLM defending the TV title again plus the Hardcore title match with Dr. Red Fang taking on the 7’ Superquake Ferguson.

The show begins with pyro but then the Omegatron lights up and Apollo Gyze shows up on it.  Apollo says that in Tacoma, he will have an announcement that will stun the world and one person in particular and wants all the newspapers around the world to hold the front page because that issue will become a collector’s item.  The video then turns off and we’re back to our normal, uninterrupted program.

The music plays and out comes TNT to a nice pop from the Phoenix crowd.  He shakes hands with the fans and enters the ring.  His music is abruptly cut off and we hear Col. Flagg’s music hit.  The fans boo and the Colonel has a mic in hand and says “On your feet you maggots and applaud a REAL American Hero.”  The booing intensifies.  Flagg makes his way down to the ring with a disgusted look on his face.  He gets in the ring and shoulders TNT out of the way as he climbs a turnbuckle and flips the fans off which, of course, riles them up even more.  He steps back down and TNT gets into his face.  Flagg hits TNT with a low blow before the match begins and then demands the bell ring to start this one off.  Flagg throws TNT out of the ring and proceeds to throw him into the steps and ring post to soften him up.  He brings TNT back in the ring but once he was able to clear the cobwebs, TNT began to overpower the military man.  At the 18 minute mark, Flagg ‘accidentally’ bumped the ref and then got out of the ring to grab a steel chair.  He returned and was going to use it on TNT until El Chango came out.  He ran down to the ring and was able to wrestle the chair away from Flagg.  He stood over TNT to protect him.  Just then the ref woke up and Flagg dropped to the mat holding his head.  The ref looked over seeing that El Chango was holding the chair and immediately disqualified TNT for outside interference.  The fans booed.  Flagg took off through the crowd and continued to mock El Chango.  Flagg stopped and saw a fan holding an El Chango sign and he viciously took it from them and tore it to shreds before flinging the pieces into the audience.  Flagg then took off once he saw that El Chango was coming after him.   Col. Flagg may have run away like a coward but he has another mark in the win column.  Damn him!

Backstage, Missy Chick talks about how it seems that certain people who are undeserving are getting title shots and others are not.  Missy calls out ‘Sassy’ Maxine DeVito and challenges her for her spot in the top 10 line up.  Maxine walks into the shot and says she accepts and will see Missy in the ring.

We head back to the ring for our next match.   First, the Muscles Trio comes out (silly entertainment) wearing their rainbow colored bull horns and carrying boxes of Booty O’s cereal (they gave the fans the cereal).  They make their way to the ring and then run back and forth against the ropes.  The music changes and out comes the team of Wilber Townsend, Anthony ‘Static’ Boom and Leon Teremoto.  The fans instantly change their tune and boo the CRAP out of them.  They get into the ring and Wilber is wearing a creepy looking mask; something like a cross between Pennywise the dancing clown and Pinhead.  He walks over to the Muscles Trio using the mask to psyche them out.  It works.  Wilber and team immediately go on the offensive and hold it through the entire match.  The match came to a conclusion at the 18 min mark when Boom got the pin on McGuire after hitting a devastating clothesline.  Wilber grabs a mic and issues a challenge to the 6 man tag team champs – the Steel Curtain & Biceps Bannerman.  Wilber says he will continue to corrupt the HCW roster until he, Boom and Teremoto get their title shot.  They then leave shortly thereafter to even louder booing from the fans.

There is a momentary break and then out comes the Iron Sheik.  Most of the fans boo him but there is still a small pocket who is cheering him on.  He notices it and scowls at them.  He gets in the ring and continues his verbal tirade against Rad Gumbo.  “Look at this chest.  This chest can crush the Gumbo Cajun.  These arms will squeeze the life out of him.”  He is abruptly cut off when we hear “Gumbo 7:30 means its suppa time, bitch” and out comes the Ragin Cajun.  Gumbo stands on the stage and challenges the Sheik to a match here and now.  Sheik declines saying that it is on his own terms for when he wrestles.”  Gumbo says that this isn’t a wrestling match and runs down to the ring and begins to fight with the Sheik.  Sheik stuns Gumbo again with the loaded boot and then hits him with the Iranian flag.  He uses the pole to choke Rad out and the refs hit the ring to break it up.   Sheik leaves with a mic in hand and promises that when their match happens, he will break Gumbo and…(the fans chime in) “Make him Humble”.  The Sheik shakes his head.  “I’ve told you this is not singalong with the Sheik.  I am not the rock of miavia.”  He drops the mic and heads to the back.  Gumbo gets to his feet rubbing his neck and is seething.  He eventually heads to the back also.

Our next match is ready to go and kicks off with Missy Chick making her way out to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Next, ‘Sassy’ Maxine DeVito comes out and the fans boo her.  Maxine turns to a group of fans but turns her back to them.  Presumably, she’s flipping them off but didn’t want it on camera.  She gets into the ring and does some minor stretches before the bell rings.  The match was pretty even between the two with Maxine getting the early advantage after locking in a bodyscissors dragon sleeper but Missy was able to make it to the ropes to break the hold.  Maxine then dumped Missy out of the ring but Missy made it back in before the 10 count. Maxine kept the pressure on and sensing that Missy was going to start an offensive run, she grabbed Missy by the hair, flung and slammed her to the mat.  She then rolled Missy up and with two feet on the middle ropes, there was no way Missy could kick out.  A 3 count later and Maxine wins the match and keeps her spot in the top 10.  The fans didn’t care for it but Maxine walked away with a smirk on her face.  (8 min)

Backstage, TV Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine says he cannot believe Master Bull would resort to such underhanded tactics.  Drew says that he is defending the title tonight and if Bull really wants it, he will get the next shot at the PPV.  Smasher #2 walks in and calls Drew a crybaby.  “Did you get your feelings hurt?  I’ll do more than hurt feelings.  I’ll break you in half and leave the scraps.”  Smasher #2 walks off and Drew watches before heading towards the ring.

The next match on the card begins with Baron Von Blood making his way out.  The 5^th Column member is booed heavily and he doesn’t seem to mind.  He gets in the ring and as the booing continues, he flips the fans off getting them even more riled up.  The fans tune changes when we hear the familiar ‘Pomp and Circumstance’ and out comes the Red Hot King Lucas Johnston.  The fans pop huge for him as he makes his way down to the ring. Baron wastes no time in attacking Lucas before he can even get his cape off.  His Lordship held the advantage for almost the first half of the match but after some underhanded tactics from Baron, things changed.  Baron tried to lay in the hurt but Lucas wouldn’t submit or get pinned and that frustrated Baron.  As we entered the final minute of the match, Lucas somehow manages to thwart a Brain Klaw attempt and held the Baron in a front face lock until the bell rang bringing this one to a draw finish.  Lucas let go but Baron wasn’t done and continued to fight.  They spilled out of the ring and fought all the way to the back.  (20 min draw)

Superquake Ferguson is backstage and he says that tonight he gets a shot at the Hardcore title.  Superquake acknowledges that he hasn’t held this title in over a year and he’s ready to represent again.  Just then, Dr. Red Fang rushes in and, at the direction of the Ambassador, blasts Superquake with chair shots to weaken him up.  Maximillian Redbeard rushes over and saves his partner.  Fang and the Ambassador retreat.  Redbeard asks if Superquake is ok to continue with his match and he answers with a Yes.  Superquake gets to his feet with a very angry look on his face and walks off.  Maximillian shakes his head and says “I wouldn’t want to be Fang right now.”

It’s time for our TV Title match.  First, Smasher #2 comes out accompanied by Smasher #1.  They both head down to the ring but the ref immediately sends #1 to the back.  #2 hollers at the ref until the music changes and out comes the TV Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine.  The place goes ballistic for their hometown (when he’s not in Canada) hero.  Drew makes his way down and right into the ring.  He stands nose to shoulder (Smasher #2 is a bit taller).  Smasher #2 takes the first swing as soon as the bell rings but is astonished by the ferocity leveled at him by the CLM.  The champ had control of the entire match but the longer it went on, Smasher #2 would up his game.  The two continued to battle until the final superkick was executed by Drew on Smasher #2 and the bell rang bringing this one to a time limit draw.  Smasher #2 took that time to bolt as he apparently had enough of the TV champion.  Drew got on the mic and thanked the fans for backing him up.  He tells Master Bull this is the exact same thing he can expect when the two meet at the PPV.  Drew celebrates with the fans before leaving.  (20 min draw)

Backstage, the Ambassador has a live mic.

Ambassador:  “Ferguson, yes, you are big and bad but like giants of the past, the bigger you are, the harder you will fall and you WILL fall to the awesome power and might of the only man even DEATH fears…Dr. Red Fang.” Fang walks into the camera shot and then snarls and growls as they head off camera.

It is time for the Main Event.  First, Superquake Ferguson comes out and he’s noticeably limping after the attack by Fang earlier.  He gets into the ring and winces as he steps over the top rope.  The music changes and we hear “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE” and out comes the Hardcore Champion Dr. Red Fang accompanied to the ring by the Ambassador.  Fang hands him the title and gets into the ring just as the bell rings.  Ferguson hits a big foot to face but grabs his back in pain.  Fang gets to his feet and hits a Vampire Lunge.  He makes the cover and with a foot on the ropes (and the Ambassador holding down Ferguson’s foot, the ref counted 1-2-3.  Dr. Red Fang gets the win in only 60 seconds.  Fang snarls and growls at the fans and they boo him harshly.  Just then, Nix Anderson sneaks in from the crowd and with a chair in hand, hits the Ambassador knocking him from the ring and then used it on Fang.  He only got in one shot as Fang tore the chair out of his hands and the two began throwing fists left and right.  Nearly half the locker room had to come out to break them up.  The show comes to and end with the two still trying to get at each other.

Well, this is escalating quickly.  Stay tuned as things continue to heat up.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #785 – Tacoma Thunder (08/04)

Hello fans and welcome to another installment of HCW’s Tacoma Thunder.  We have a stacked card today that will be headlined by US Champion the Wicked Prophet defending his title against Niven Snake.  But first, our show starts off on a somber note.  (Real) Professional wrestler Harley Race has passed away.  The following graphics shows up on the Omegatron and is followed by tapping the ringside bell 10 times.  RIP Legend.

As the final bell sounds, the fans start a “Thank you Harley” chant. 

Pyro goes off and the show kicks into high gear.  Nix Anderson makes his way out to a pop from the crowd.  He’s carrying his ukulele and strums it a few times as he makes his way to the ring.  His music is cut off when we hear “I’ve got some bad news for ya” and out comes ‘Bad News’ Marvin Barnes.  Barnes is booed as he makes his way to the ring.  Nix is pacing as he didn’t appreciate being cut off like that.  Barnes gets in the ring and goes nose to nose with Nix before shoving him.  The bell rings and this one begins.  Barnes used every dirty trick he could come up with but Nix managed to stay with him.  Barnes accidentally bumped the ref and then hit Nix with a low blow.  He rolled out of the ring and grabbed a chair and hit Nix once with it as the ref began to stir pretty quickly.  Barnes picks up Nix and hits the Crossbow Cutter and makes the cover (hooking the tights AND has his feet on the ropes for leverage) and gets the 1-2-3.  Barnes laughs and demands the ref raise his arm as the victor.  Nix, showing no signs of ill effects from the chair shot, grabs his ukulele and then walks over to Barnes, grabbing him by the shoulder and turning him around.  Nix then destroys the ukulele over the head of Marvin.  Barnes drops to the mat like a rock.  The fans pop for Nix and he makes his way to the back.  Marvin recovers a few moments later and then makes his way to the back.  (13 min)

Backstage, Hayley Hailstone is being interviewed.  Hayley comments that the HCW can’t seem to make up its mind about her last name.  She says she’s been referred to as Hailstone and Hailstorm.  Regardless, she says she is cashing in her title match for the PPV and Violet better be prepared for the Hailstorm coming her way.  She will be that one Hailstone that Violet misses and that will be what gets her the win.

Next up is tag team action.  First, Perfect Pecs Stoddard and Shawn ‘Abs of Stone’ Austin come out and are booed by the fans.  They flip them off not carrying about being a bad influence to the young fans.  Next, Ghee Buttersnaps and Ovaltine Jackson come out to a pop from the crowd.  They make their way to the ring but are attacked by Austin and Stoddard starting off the match early.  That early attack was all Austin and Pecs could generate as Ghee and Ovaltine owned the match.  It was a short one that saw Ghee get the pin on Austin after dazing him with an elbow smash.  Ghee and Ovaltine get the win and the fans pop.  Austin and Pecs tried to attack them after the match but the faces bolted before any damage could be inflicted.  Austin and Pecs stewed in the ring before storming to the back.  (8 min)

The Banker is backstage and he says he’s not happy being put into a match against some goofy looking lumberjack.  He reminds us he’s a former world champion and should not be relegated to wrestling clowns.  He storms off.

The next match begins and the Banker is continuing his power walk down to the ring.  He, of course, is booed but he doesn’t acknowledge the fans.  Once in the ring, the music changes and out comes Jack Lumber.  Jack gets a pop from the crowd and he seems surprised at the reaction he got.  He shakes hands with the fans and makes his way to the ring.  He gets in and removes his flannel and the match starts.   Jack begins with a Yukon bodyslam but it is reversed and the Banker throws him out of the ring.  The Banker tried to distract the ref but Jack was back in quickly thwarting any mischievous plans.  The Banker then drops Jack with a deposit diving DDT and then kicks him out of the ring again.  He distracts the ref and while Jack is getting to his feet, the Axe comes in from the crowd and after sizing up Jack, he hits him with the spear.  He then takes off and the ref missed it all.  The ref begins to count and reaches 10 counting Jack out.  The fans were not happy.  GM Max McGillicutty came out and said that outside interference caused Jack to lose and he was not letting that happen.  Max says that Jack gets an immediate rematch starting now.  Jack was still feeling the ill effects of Axe’s attack but managed to stay with the Banker.  The longer the match went on, the more energetic Jack became.  Jack caught the Banker with “TIMMMMBBBEERRR” and almost got a 3 count.  The fans rallied behind Jack and after missing a clothesline, the Banker runs right into ‘the Axe’ from Jack.  Jack makes the cover and gets the 3 count.  The fans pop huge.  The Axe runs back in from the crowd but this time, Jack was waiting for him and the two traded blows.  Axe missed an Axe shot and Lumber hit him with the ‘Timmmmbbberrr’ sending Axe flying out of the ring.  Axe slammed his hands on the mat in frustration and the fans, solidly behind our resident lumberjack, stood tall.  The Banker had made his way to the back unnoticed followed by the Axe and eventually Jack.  (3 min for the first match, 18 for the 2^nd).

Backstage, Master Bull says that he’s ready for his match against Drew the Canadian Love Machine for the TV title.  He adds that Drew has not faced such a competitor as himself and he won’t know what to expecdt and that will be in his favor.

Our next match is a top 10 placement match.  First, the challenger Tempest Fortune comes out to a nice pop from the crowd.  Next, Felicia Cummings makes her way out amidst the booing from the fans.  This match is for Felicia’s spot in the top 10.  The match started off pretty even but the longer it went on, Tempest began controlling more and more of it.  She was having such a good time it seems she lost track of the time.  Before she knew it, we were almost at the time limit.  Tempest caught Felicia and hit a Press & Slam and went for the pin but Felicia kicked out.  Tempest followed it up with a diving knee drop and hooked the leg for good measure.  The ref counted 1-2-3.  Tempest gets the win and moves back into the top 10 whereas Felicia drops out.  Tempest celebrates with the fans before heading to the back.  (19 min)

We head backstage where TV Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine is being interviewed.  Drew says that Master Bull had one thing right and that the two have never tangled but what he’s missing is that Drew has observed how Master Bull thinks and acts during his time as Phoenix GM and that in itself speaks volumes.  The two may have never met in the ring but he knows Master Bull…probably better than Bull knows himself.  Drew heads to the ring.

It’s time for our TV title match.  First, the challenger Master Bull comes out to a nice pop from the crowd.  He makes his way to the ring and enters.  He climbs one of the turnbuckles getting the fans to pop for him.  Next, the music changes and the roof practically explodes from the volume of the fans.  Drew comes out on stage and pyro and smoke go off around him.  He rushes down to the ring and slides under the bottom rope.  He looks at Master Bull once, climbs the turnbuckle and holds the TV title high.  The fans somehow pop even louder.  The two meet in the center of the ring and as Drew hands the title to the ref, the two shake hands and step apart.  The bell rings and the two start off.  Drew took the advantage early but Bull began making a comeback and proving himself as a threat.  At the 10 minute mark, Bull caught and planted Drew with a Roman powerslam but then the lights went off.  They were off for just a few seconds but when they came back on, Wilber Townsend, Anthony Boom and Leon Teremoto were all in the ring.  Wilber directed Anthony and Leon to attack both Bull and Drew resulting in a no contest decision.  Wilber decided to join in but out ran El Chango to even the odds.  After sending Wilber, Anthony and Leon to the outside, GM Max McGillicutty came out and said that the next match will be a 6 man match with Drew, Bull and El Chango taking on Wilber, Anthony and Leon.  Wilber smiled and he and his cronies re-entered the ring.  The bell rang pretty quickly. 

The team of Wilber and his men took early advantage of the match and dominated from the start.  There seemed to be a bit of miscommunication between Drew and Master Bull.  Each had their turn in the ring and then El Chango got tagged in for the hot tag.  El Chango was up against his former teammate Leon Teremoto and he tried to reason with him.  Leon’s eyes were glazed over and it was like talking to a zombie.  Leon threw the first punch but El Chango fought him off dropping him with the Diamond Dust.  He then went to the top rope.  Bull and Drew ran in to take out Anthony and Wilber.  El Chango then hit a shooting star press landing right on top of Leon.  He hooked the leg and got the 3 count.  The team of El Chango, Drew the Canadian Love Machine and Master Bull get the win.  El Chango was the first to leave.  Bull and Drew were left in the ring.  Bull asked for a mic and said that he was proving to be a threat to Drew’s title and if there had not been outside interference, he may have taken the title.  Drew replied that it may have seemed that way but his title was never in jeopardy.  Bull demanded that he be given another shot.  Drew said that the championship committee determined who got what and this was Bull’s one shot and even though the outcome was not what was hoped for, that is it.  Bull turned in frustration and then turned back; the features of his face softening.  He extended his hand and Drew shook it.  Bull then BLASTED Drew in the head with the microphone.  He then hit a Roman powerbomb on Drew in the center of the ring.  Drew looked hurt and was bleeding a little from the microphone shot.  The fans looked on, shocked.  Bull says that if Drew won’t do the right thing, he’ll have to do it on his own.  Bull left but the crowd was eerily silent.  You would think that a turn on fan favorite Drew the CLM would cause the fans to turn on Bull but they didn’t.  Something weird is going on.  Drew is eventually helped to his feet and he makes it to the back on his own.

Niven Snake is backstage and he says that the Wicked Prophet’s time as US Champion is over.  Tonight he takes the title and there is nothing Prophet can do about it.

In another interview area, the US Champion the Wicked Prophet is conducting his own interview.  He says that he fought hard to get to this point and hell or high water, the belt was staying with him,

Just before the match could begin, we hear blaring over the loudspeakers “APOLLO GYZE DON’T APOLOGIZE” and out comes Apollo.   He stands on the stage and the fans boo him.  He says that he is officially declaring himself the #1 contender for the World title and adds that he is cashing in at the PPV at the end of the month.  “Stick that in your pipe and smoke it” Apollo chastises the fans before walking off.

It is time for the main event.  First, Niven Snake comes out to mostly boos from the fans.  He makes his way to the ring, enters and waits for his opponent.  Next, the US Champion the Wicked Prophet comes out to a mixed reaction.  There are some fans who still like him even though he’s turned his back on them.  He makes his way to the ring and lays the belt in the corner before climbing in via the stairs.  He gets in and immediately goes after Niven but is stopped after Niven almost broke him in half with a Spear.  After that, Niven controlled the pace of the match but he could not keep Prophet down for the 3 count.  As the time limit was running down, Prophet began a comeback dazzling Niven with some big power moves.  At the final minute of the match, Prophet hit Niven with the Devil’s Snare but the bell rang before he could go for the pin.  The match ends in a draw but Prophet is still the champion.  Niven leaves and Prophet takes his title and holds it high as the camera stop rolling.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #784 – Phoenix Heat (07/31)

Hello fans and welcome to another installment of HCW’s Phoenix Heat.  On the card today, the Tag Team Champions Mean Jack Mason and Angry Jack Lawson will be defending the titles.  Also, Master Bull gets his qualifier match for the TV title top 10. 

The show begins back in the office of the GM where Ruth Heartless is conducting business on the phone.  “Don’t worry, you’ll be back here soon enough” she says just before hanging up the phone.  She looks up and is greeted by Master Bull.  “What the hell do you want?”  Master Bull smiles at her.  “Tonight, I get the qualifying match to see if I can get the next TV title shot.”  “Really?  You think you deserve even that much?”  Bull shakes his head “Now, now, don’t be that way.  Just tell me who my challenger is so I can go prepare for my match.”  “Oh, you want to know who your opponent is?  Guess what you moron, you will find out when you get to the ring…and by the way, you’re the curtain jerker so get moving.”  Bull turns and leaves.  Ruth sits there stewing.

Pyro goes off and our show is ready to go.  First, Master Bull comes out to a pop from the crowd.  He makes his way down and into the ring.  He stands patiently and waits for his opponent.  Music hits and out comes Ovaltine Jackson.  He gets a smaller pop from the fans and shakes hands with a few before heading to the ring.  He climbs in and meets Bull in the middle of the ring.  He extends his hand and Bull shakes it.  The bell rings starting this one off.  Bull dominated the first 3 minutes of the match not even letting Jackson get a move in.  After that, Ovaltine got in two moves but that was all he did.  Bull was able to wind things up at the 10 min mark securing a win after hitting a reverse neckbreaker.  Master Bull gets the win and now is in line for a title shot at Drew.  Bull motions around his waist signifying he’s going to get a title.  He leaves fairly quickly.  (10 min)

El Chango is backstage and calls out Col. Flagg for the sneak attacks.  He tells Flagg that if he wants him so bad, they can settle this in the ring whenever he has the guts to show up.

Next up on the card is our Ladies match.  First, Kimberly Kiccsass comes out and is booed.  She flips off the fans as she heads to the ring.  She gets in and before she can do anything, the loudspeakers blare “It’s time to get SASSY” and out comes Sassy Maxine DeVito.  She gets a small pop from the crowd as she makes her way down to the ring.  As soon as the bell rang, Kimberly charged but Maxine moved out of the way and attempted to do a quick roll up.  Maxine grabbed a handful of tights and that got a 2 count but Kimberly kicked out right away.  Maxine did it a second time but only got a one count and an eye rake for her troubles.  Kimberly then choked Maxine on the ropes and she had an advantage through the match.  After a few minutes, Kimberly hit the Christo and went for a pin but Maxine kicked out at one.  After a bit more back and forth, Maxine tosses Kimberly out of the ring but upon entering, she caught Maxine with the Christo and went for a quick pin but Maxine kicked out.  Kimberly went for 3 more pin attempts and each time Maxine kept kicking out.  Finally, the two of them locked up with neither relenting until a knee to the gut by Kimberly allowed her to lock in the Dragon Sleeper.  Maxine faded fast and the ref raised her arm once (and it dropped), twice (dropped again) and a third time (and it fell once more).  The ref awards the match to Kimberly Kiccsass via submission.  Kimberly hurls Maxine to the mat and then pompously puts herself over.  She didn’t see Maxie get back to her feet but when she did, she ran at Maxine who then hurled Kimberly to the floor.  The fans popped.  Kimberly got up cursing at Maxine and after threatening to return to the ring twice, she just made her way to the back.  (12 min)

Tommy Lightning is backstage and he’s complaining about how Max caused him to lose the US title after he defeated that joke Prophet.  Now, he’s standing here without a title and he’s pissed about it.  Tommy promises that he will get another shot at the US title and this time, the belt will come home with him.

We head to the ring for our next match.  First, Tommy Lightning comes out first to booing from the fans.  His upper lip curls as he sneers at them.  He makes his way into the ring and the booing intensifies.   The boos change to a pop when we hear “GUMBO 7:30 MEANS ITS SUPPA TIME, BITCH”  and out comes the Ragin Cajun Rad Gumbo.  Gumbo makes his way down to the ring accompanied by his manager Ms. Alexandria.  He gets in the ring and raises his arms to a loud pop from the crowd.   Tommy tries to attack but Gumbo controls the pace of the match.  At the 7 min mark, Tommy tries for a sunset flip but can’t get Gumbo over.  Rad instead picks up Tommy and locks in the Onion Lock (Muta lock).  Tommy thrashes around for a moment or two before tapping out.  Gumbo gets the win.  He begins to celebrate but then Tommy dropkicks him and takes off.  Rad gets up and follows. (7 min)

The ring announcer then introduces wrestling legend and hall of famer the Iron Sheik.  Sheik comes out carrying the Iranian flag to mostly boos but a few fans applaud for him although they tended to get drowned out.  Sheik gets into the ring and takes the mic.  “The Iron Sheik is here to break backs and…” He gets cut off as the fans respond “make them humble.”  Sheik shakes his head “This is not singalong time with the Sheik.  I am here because there is an embarrassment in our craft.  This Gumbo Cajun is a disgrace.  He makes B Brian Blair and Hulk Hogan look like the Arnold of Schwarzeneggers”.   He even got punked by Lightning Tommy.  He does not deserve to be here and should be banished.”  Gumbo’s music hits and Rad makes his way back out.  He gets right into the ring and gets into the Sheik’s face.  The Sheik then threw a powder into Gumbo’s eyes blinding him.  He then tapped the top of his shoe on the mat and then kicked Gumbo in the gut before kicking him in the head with his loaded boot.  Gumbo was bleeding.  Sheik then turned him over and locked in the Camel Clutch.  A bunch of refs hit the ring trying to get him off and it seemed like it took half the locker room to get him to release the hold.  Sheik takes the mic once again.  “Iran Number One, Gumbo….hock puey (he spits on Rad).  Sheik takes the flag and waves it before leaving.  Gumbo made it to his feet a few moments later and was able to make it to the back under his own power.

We go backstage again where we are with Niven Snake.  Niven says that the Wicked Prophet keeps ducking him afraid to put his belt on the line.  Niven says he wants a title shot now.

Our next match is ready to go.  First, Muscles McGuire comes out wearing his rainbow colored bull horns and his box of Booty O’s cereal.  Next, El Chango makes his way out and the fans pop.  They wasted no time getting the match started.  El Chango controlled the pace of the match and after bodyslamming McGuire to the mat three times, he locked in the camel clutch and McGuire tapped out.  El Chango gets the win in 7 short minutes but his victory is short lived when Col. Flagg runs in and begins beating El Chango down with a riding crop.  Flagg begins choking El Chango until he passed out.  Flagg kicks him out of the ring and says that his “kind” don’t belong here and tells El Chango to go back to where he came from.   The fans boo the shit out of Flagg who calls the fans maggots before leaving.

We have a live feed from Tacoma and the Wicked Prophet has some words for Niven.  He says he will accept the match and will see him in a few days up in Tacoma.  He promises that Niven will regret making the challenge.

It is time for our main event.  The World Tag Team champions are defending their titles tonight.  You may wonder why they didn’t cut a promo.  Mean Jack told us it was because he felt their challengers tonight didn’t deserve anything.  First, Muscles Weasley and Thorpe come out to represent their faction.  They are wearing rainbow colored bull horns.  They get a pop as they head to the ring.  They barely make it to the ring when the music changes and out comes the Champs Mean Jack Mason and Angry Jack Lawson.  They have choice words for the fans as they make their way to ringside.  One fan made a grab for Mean Jack’s belt and Mean Jack nearly took his head off clobbering him until security rushed over and escorted the fan out.  The Jacks continued their way to ringside, entered the ring and held their titles over their heads all the while mocking the fans.  As soon as they surrendered the titles to the ref, the match began.

The Muscles started on Angry Jack injuring him right off the bat.  Mean Jack tagged in and easily held his own.  When it seemed that Lawson was ok, he tagged back in and beat the holy hell out of Weasley.  The Muscles had frequent tags to attempt to keep themselves fresh and used their speed to help counter the power from the Jacks but it was barely adequate.  As they got to the 25 minute mark, an exhausted Thorpe tagged to Weasley who immediately went to the top rope.  Angry Jack rushed over to the corner and caught him before viciously planting him (and possibly denting the floor) in the ring.  Angry Jack made the cover and got the easy 1-2-3.  The Jacks are victorious in their title match. 

Mean Jack gets on the mic and asks for a challenge…any challenge as they are getting bored with the fodder they’re being fed.  “Give us a challenge!”

The show comes to an end with Mean Jack and Angry Jack yelling at the camera demanding a real team.
