HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #784 – Phoenix Heat (07/31)

Hello fans and welcome to another installment of HCW’s Phoenix Heat.  On the card today, the Tag Team Champions Mean Jack Mason and Angry Jack Lawson will be defending the titles.  Also, Master Bull gets his qualifier match for the TV title top 10.

The show begins back in the office of the GM where Ruth Heartless is conducting business on the phone.  “Don’t worry, you’ll be back here soon enough” she says just before hanging up the phone.  She looks up and is greeted by Master Bull.  “What the hell do you want?”  Master Bull smiles at her.  “Tonight, I get the qualifying match to see if I can get the next TV title shot.”  “Really?  You think you deserve even that much?”  Bull shakes his head “Now, now, don’t be that way.  Just tell me who my challenger is so I can go prepare for my match.”  “Oh, you want to know who your opponent is?  Guess what you moron, you will find out when you get to the ring…and by the way, you’re the curtain jerker so get moving.”  Bull turns and leaves.  Ruth sits there stewing.

Pyro goes off and our show is ready to go.  First, Master Bull comes out to a pop from the crowd.  He makes his way down and into the ring.  He stands patiently and waits for his opponent.  Music hits and out comes Ovaltine Jackson.  He gets a smaller pop from the fans and shakes hands with a few before heading to the ring.  He climbs in and meets Bull in the middle of the ring.  He extends his hand and Bull shakes it.  The bell rings starting this one off.  Bull dominated the first 3 minutes of the match not even letting Jackson get a move in.  After that, Ovaltine got in two moves but that was all he did.  Bull was able to wind things up at the 10 min mark securing a win after hitting a reverse neckbreaker.  Master Bull gets the win and now is in line for a title shot at Drew.  Bull motions around his waist signifying he’s going to get a title.  He leaves fairly quickly.  (10 min)

El Chango is backstage and calls out Col. Flagg for the sneak attacks.  He tells Flagg that if he wants him so bad, they can settle this in the ring whenever he has the guts to show up.

Next up on the card is our Ladies match.  First, Kimberly Kiccsass comes out and is booed.  She flips off the fans as she heads to the ring.  She gets in and before she can do anything, the loudspeakers blare “It’s time to get SASSY” and out comes Sassy Maxine DeVito.  She gets a small pop from the crowd as she makes her way down to the ring.  As soon as the bell rang, Kimberly charged but Maxine moved out of the way and attempted to do a quick roll up.  Maxine grabbed a handful of tights and that got a 2 count but Kimberly kicked out right away.  Maxine did it a second time but only got a one count and an eye rake for her troubles.  Kimberly then choked Maxine on the ropes and she had an advantage through the match.  After a few minutes, Kimberly hit the Christo and went for a pin but Maxine kicked out at one.  After a bit more back and forth, Maxine tosses Kimberly out of the ring but upon entering, she caught Maxine with the Christo and went for a quick pin but Maxine kicked out.  Kimberly went for 3 more pin attempts and each time Maxine kept kicking out.  Finally, the two of them locked up with neither relenting until a knee to the gut by Kimberly allowed her to lock in the Dragon Sleeper.  Maxine faded fast and the ref raised her arm once (and it dropped), twice (dropped again) and a third time (and it fell once more).  The ref awards the match to Kimberly Kiccsass via submission.  Kimberly hurls Maxine to the mat and then pompously puts herself over.  She didn’t see Maxie get back to her feet but when she did, she ran at Maxine who then hurled Kimberly to the floor.  The fans popped.  Kimberly got up cursing at Maxine and after threatening to return to the ring twice, she just made her way to the back.  (12 min)

Tommy Lightning is backstage and he’s complaining about how Max caused him to lose the US title after he defeated that joke Prophet.  Now, he’s standing here without a title and he’s pissed about it.  Tommy promises that he will get another shot at the US title and this time, the belt will come home with him.

We head to the ring for our next match.  First, Tommy Lightning comes out first to booing from the fans.  His upper lip curls as he sneers at them.  He makes his way into the ring and the booing intensifies.   The boos change to a pop when we hear “GUMBO 7:30 MEANS ITS SUPPA TIME, BITCH”  and out comes the Ragin Cajun Rad Gumbo.  Gumbo makes his way down to the ring accompanied by his manager Ms. Alexandria.  He gets in the ring and raises his arms to a loud pop from the crowd.   Tommy tries to attack but Gumbo controls the pace of the match.  At the 7 min mark, Tommy tries for a sunset flip but can’t get Gumbo over.  Rad instead picks up Tommy and locks in the Onion Lock (Muta lock).  Tommy thrashes around for a moment or two before tapping out.  Gumbo gets the win.  He begins to celebrate but then Tommy dropkicks him and takes off.  Rad gets up and follows. (7 min)

The ring announcer then introduces wrestling legend and hall of famer the Iron Sheik.  Sheik comes out carrying the Iranian flag to mostly boos but a few fans applaud for him although they tended to get drowned out.  Sheik gets into the ring and takes the mic.  “The Iron Sheik is here to break backs and…” He gets cut off as the fans respond “make them humble.”  Sheik shakes his head “This is not singalong time with the Sheik.  I am here because there is an embarrassment in our craft.  This Gumbo Cajun is a disgrace.  He makes B Brian Blair and Hulk Hogan look like the Arnold of Schwarzeneggers”.   He even got punked by Lightning Tommy.  He does not deserve to be here and should be banished.”  Gumbo’s music hits and Rad makes his way back out.  He gets right into the ring and gets into the Sheik’s face.  The Sheik then threw a powder into Gumbo’s eyes blinding him.  He then tapped the top of his shoe on the mat and then kicked Gumbo in the gut before kicking him in the head with his loaded boot.  Gumbo was bleeding.  Sheik then turned him over and locked in the Camel Clutch.  A bunch of refs hit the ring trying to get him off and it seemed like it took half the locker room to get him to release the hold.  Sheik takes the mic once again.  “Iran Number One, Gumbo….hock puey (he spits on Rad).  Sheik takes the flag and waves it before leaving.  Gumbo made it to his feet a few moments later and was able to make it to the back under his own power.

We go backstage again where we are with Niven Snake.  Niven says that the Wicked Prophet keeps ducking him afraid to put his belt on the line.  Niven says he wants a title shot now.

Our next match is ready to go.  First, Muscles McGuire comes out wearing his rainbow colored bull horns and his box of Booty O’s cereal.  Next, El Chango makes his way out and the fans pop.  They wasted no time getting the match started.  El Chango controlled the pace of the match and after bodyslamming McGuire to the mat three times, he locked in the camel clutch and McGuire tapped out.  El Chango gets the win in 7 short minutes but his victory is short lived when Col. Flagg runs in and begins beating El Chango down with a riding crop.  Flagg begins choking El Chango until he passed out.  Flagg kicks him out of the ring and says that his “kind” don’t belong here and tells El Chango to go back to where he came from.   The fans boo the shit out of Flagg who calls the fans maggots before leaving.

We have a live feed from Tacoma and the Wicked Prophet has some words for Niven.  He says he will accept the match and will see him in a few days up in Tacoma.  He promises that Niven will regret making the challenge.

It is time for our main event.  The World Tag Team champions are defending their titles tonight.  You may wonder why they didn’t cut a promo.  Mean Jack told us it was because he felt their challengers tonight didn’t deserve anything.  First, Muscles Weasley and Thorpe come out to represent their faction.  They are wearing rainbow colored bull horns.  They get a pop as they head to the ring.  They barely make it to the ring when the music changes and out comes the Champs Mean Jack Mason and Angry Jack Lawson.  They have choice words for the fans as they make their way to ringside.  One fan made a grab for Mean Jack’s belt and Mean Jack nearly took his head off clobbering him until security rushed over and escorted the fan out.  The Jacks continued their way to ringside, entered the ring and held their titles over their heads all the while mocking the fans.  As soon as they surrendered the titles to the ref, the match began.

The Muscles started on Angry Jack injuring him right off the bat.  Mean Jack tagged in and easily held his own.  When it seemed that Lawson was ok, he tagged back in and beat the holy hell out of Weasley.  The Muscles had frequent tags to attempt to keep themselves fresh and used their speed to help counter the power from the Jacks but it was barely adequate.  As they got to the 25 minute mark, an exhausted Thorpe tagged to Weasley who immediately went to the top rope.  Angry Jack rushed over to the corner and caught him before viciously planting him (and possibly denting the floor) in the ring.  Angry Jack made the cover and got the easy 1-2-3.  The Jacks are victorious in their title match.

Mean Jack gets on the mic and asks for a challenge…any challenge as they are getting bored with the fodder they’re being fed.  “Give us a challenge!”

The show comes to an end with Mean Jack and Angry Jack yelling at the camera demanding a real team.

That’s all for now.  Stay tuned…more to come.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #783 – Tacoma Thunder (7/28)

Hello fans and welcome to another installment of HCW’s Tacoma Thunder.  Due to some time constraints, our show today will only have a 2 hour time limit so matches are going to be cut short.

We head backstage to the office of GM Max McGillicutty and he is with the Banker.  He tells the Banker that his win he achieved over Davis Hoffmeister will be nullified and the two of them will indeed meet again.  The Banker storms out but not before Max tells him that he is on the card tonight.  Also, he has been picked to take on everyone’s favorite plaid-wearing lumberjack Jack Lumber in Jack’s debut match next week.  After the Banker left, Max says that TNT has been moved to Phoenix in the roster swap.

Pyro goes off and we are ready to get this one moving.  First, the Banker comes out and just storms down to the ring flipping everyone off.  He is not happy to be here.  The music changes and out comes Maximillian Redbeard.  Redbeard gets a pop as he makes his way to the ring.  Once there, the Banker attacks him just as he entered the ring.  The Banker took Redbeard out of the ring and rammed him shoulder first into the steel post before bouncing Redbeard’s head on the steps.  He threw him back in and then dominated the match before locking in the ATM fee armbar.  Injured and wishing to not further aggravate the injury, Maximillian taps out.  The Banker gets the underhanded win and showboats to the crowd.  Maximillian makes it to his feet and glares at the Banker.  As soon as the Banker turned around, Maximillian grabbed him one handed by the throat and hit a huge chokeslam.  The fans popped.  Maximillian left with a little bit of revenge achieved.  The Banker eventually make his way to the back. (8 min)

Vignette of Jack Lumber.  Jack Lumber says I’m about to plant so many trees, starting with one named Axe. The sweat and tears from my opponents will water all the trees I plant to symbolize their losses!”  The fans pop.

We head to the ring for our next match.  First, Wendell Hammerschmidt comes out to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Once in the ring, the music changes and out comes Killa Pops.  Pops gets a decent pop from the crowd and makes his way right to the ring.  He begins to psyche up the crowd but it seems Wendell wants to get this one moving.  Once the match got underway, it was pretty even throughout the whole match with both men trading control.  It looked like this one was heading to a draw finish but Pops managed to stun Wendell with some body kicks. As soon as Wendell hit the mat, Pops made the cover and with a solid hook of the leg, he got the 1-2-3.  Killa Pops gets the win in 18 min much to the delight of the crowd.  He leaves and Wendell eventually follows.

Backstage, Shawn ‘Abs of Stone’ is being interviewed.  He says he’s next in line for a World title shot.  He is interrupted by none other than Apollo Gyze.  Shawn told him to apologize for sticking his nose into Shawn’s interview time.  Apollo responded with “Apollo Gyze don’t apologize”.  Shawn then challenged Apollo to a match but Apollo said that Shawn’s title shot needs to be on the line. Shawn agreed.  Apollo left and headed to the ring.  Shawn followed shortly thereafter.

The music plays and blaring over the loudspeakers is “APOLLO GYZE DON’T APOLOGIZE” and Apollo makes his way out and down to the ring ignoring the boos from the fans.  He gets in the ring and calls for Shawn to make his way out.  Shawn ‘Abs of Stone’ Austin comes out and he is also booed by the fans; just not as bad as Apollo.  Shawn gets into the ring and tells Apollo to bring it.  Austin had control for the entire match but Apollo was only a step behind.  Shawn went for a few pin attempts but Apollo kept kicking out.  Just as we entered the 17th minute of the match, Apollo hit a sit out powerbomb out of nowhere and made the cover but getting his foot on the ropes for leverage.  The ref didn’t see it and counted 1-2-3.  Apollo gets the win and now is the #1 contender for the World Title.  HOLY COW.  Never saw that one coming.  Apollo smirks and then leaves as Shawn argues with the ref to no avail.  (17 min)

Tempest Fortune is backstage and tonight, she gets a title match against champion Violet Valkyrie.  She says that Violet is one of the greatest champions to hold the title and if she can score an upset tonight, it will be an honor to be called the champion.  The next chapter of her career begins tonight.

The next match on the card is a tag team match.  First, the Regulators (Mule and Mammoth) come out to booing from the crowd (because of who their opponents are).  The music changes and the fans blow the roof off as the Steel Curtain (Buzz and Starbuck Steel) come out.  They interact with the fans as they make their way to the ring.  As soon as they entered the ring, the Regulators cut them off from climbing the turnbuckles trying to get this one underway.  The Regulators double teamed early on and took control of the match but it didn’t take long for the Curtain to turn the tables and dominate the rest of the match.  At the 20 minute mark, Buzz hit a Buzz Cut outta nowhere on Mammoth and got the uncontested 3 count.  The Steel Curtain get the win and celebrate in the ring as the Regulators made their way to the back.

The Ladies Champion Violet Valkyrie is backstage.  She thanks Tempest for the nice words but as she learned, words don’t get you the championship; actions do.  She fought tooth and nail to get a match vs Ruby Rose and she defeated her like she promised.  She also survived a fatal four way and walked out with her title intact.  She says that the only words this “soccer mom” will say is for Tempest to bring her A-Game.

It’s time for our main event.  First, Tempest Fortune comes out to a pop from the crowd.  Once in the ring, the music changes and the fans pop even louder for the Ladies Champion Violet Valkyrie.  Violet comes out and stands on the stage.  Pyro and smoke fill the stage and then she rushes down to the ring sliding under the bottom rope.  She takes her title and holds it high while standing on the middle turnbuckle.   She steps down and meets Tempest in the middle of the ring.  Violet hands over her title to the referee and shakes hands with Tempest.  The bell rings.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #782 – Phoenix Heat (7/24)

Hello fans and welcome to another installment of HCW’s Phoenix Heat.  We begin today’s show with an announcement from the office of the Phoenix GM Ruth Heartless.   Ruth is sitting in her office and she says she has a game-changing announcement to make.  She says that she alone has come to a short term agreement with a LEGEND from the wrestling world and he will ONLY be on the Phoenix brand.  She goes on to say that she is proud to announce that THE IRON SHEIK has agreed to a short term contract and will be EXCLUSIVE to the Phoenix Heat show.  Holy cow fans, that is HUGE as we haven’t had any mainstream wrestlers appear on HCW’s show ever since the partnership between HCW’s owners and those of “the board” (WWE, TNA, ROH) dissolved a few years back that brought an end to HWF and CSWA and gave birth to HCW.   It will be interesting to see how Sheik’s involvement with Phoenix Heat will play out.

The show kicks off with pyro showering the stage in a sparks.  First, our show kicks off with a title match.  The challenger Smasher #1 comes out to huge boos from the fans.  He doesn’t care and flips them off as the muscle head makes his way down to the ring.  He starts to strut around the ring holding his arms high signaling a victory he has yet to accomplish.  The fans change their tune and pop HUGE as TV Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine makes his way out.  He stops on the stage and soaks in the adulation from the fans.  He holds the title high prompting another pop.  He makes his way down to the ring and gets in.  He holds the title high once more as he climbs the turnbuckle and then steps down and hands the title to the ref.   Smasher #1 then attacks Drew before the bell prompting an early start to the match.  Smasher #1 held the advantage briefly before Drew battled back and stunned the big man.  Smasher got in a couple of good shots that allowed him to go for a pin but Drew had the presence of mind to keep kicking out.  The longer the match went on, Smasher #1 began to run out of steam and Drew would own the match but he couldn’t get that elusive 3 count.  As the match was nearing the time limit, Smasher #1 hit a legsweep and then got to his feet.  Drew was back up almost immediately and hit his opponent with a superkick.  The bell then rang before he could go for a pin.  The match ends in a draw (that Drew ended up dominating) and Drew retains his title.  Drew gets on the mic and says that he will accept Bull’s challenge if he can beat anyone in the TV title top 10 (basically a position qualifier match).

Tacoma Thunder GM Max McGillicutty arrives and enters the building making his way to GM Ruth Heartless’ office.

Backstage, El Chango tells Leon he’s not here to infringe on any singles goals he has but says he will be in Leon’s corner if ever needed and if he gives the word, the Desperados will reform.  Davis Hoffmeister is also on hand and welcomes El Chango back as he heads to the ring for his match.

Our next match is ready to go.  First, the Axe comes out to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Axe gets into the ring and takes a mic.  He asks the backstage producers if they’re going to interrupt his match with another vignette from Jack Lumber.  Axe is understandably pissed that those vignettes continue to run during his matches.  The fans pop huge as Davis ‘the Hoff’ Hoffmeister comes out.  He interacts with the fans as he makes his way down to the ring.  Axe doesn’t seem all that happy with the backing Davis is getting from the fans and begins pacing in the ring like a caged animal.   The match begins and Davis takes immediate control after images of Jack Lumber begin filling up the Omegatron.  Axe gets distracted missing an opportunity to hit the Axe.  He yells towards backstage frustrated.   Axe turns and blasts Davis with a power punch and a forearm uppercut.  Davis takes Axe to the mat and locks in the Hollywood Clutch (camel clutch).  Axe, totally caught off guard, taps out.  Davis gets the win in a quick 6 minute match.  Axe gets to his feet and hurls Davis out of the ring.  He then stomps around before storming to the back.  Davis is ok and interacts with the fans before leaving.  (6 min)

The ever-creepy Wilber Townsend is backstage with Leon Teremoto.  Wilber informs Leon that he will be in his corner in tag team action against Anthony Boom and Master Bull.  Wilber warns Master Bull that if he gets involved in his business, he will be introduced to “the Funhouse” the hard way.

We go back to the ring for our next match.  First, 5th Column member Oswald Zimmerman comes out to booing from the crowd.  He of course flips them off and makes his way into the ring.  He mocks the fans and the booing intensifies.   The crowd then pops as the music changed as out comes the King of HCW – ‘Red Hot’ Lucas Johnston.  His royalness waves to the fans and gets into the ring.  Oswald acts like he’s going to attack but Lucas catches him and he backs off.  The match begins and for the first 5 minutes of the match, it was pretty even with neither getting an advantage.  6 minutes in, Lucas hits Oswald with a DDT and that set the pace for the rest of the match.  A few minutes later, Lucas catches Oswald with a flying bodypress.  Lucas hooks the leg and gets the 1-2-3.  King Lucas gets the win and the fans pop huge for him.  He stays to interact with the fans for a few moments and then heads to the back.  (13 min)

Backstage, Max confronts Ruth about her being the masked person.  The stipulation of the match was as GM, she was not allowed to render assistance of any kind but turns out she did. Ruth doesn’t deny it.  Max, as the senior GM, nullifies the Banker’s title shot and then says that the Banker will officially move to the Tacoma Roster to prevent Ruth from further interfering in his matches.    Max leaves and Ruth says “Oh, we’ll see about that”.

The next match is ready to go.  First, Anthony Boom and Master Bull come out to pops from the crowd.  They make their way down to the ring and shake hands with the fans.  Next, Wilber Townsend comes out first and reluctantly following him out is Leon Teremoto.  The crowd is torn as they want to boo Wilber but are trying to back Leon.  Wilber grabs Leon by the back of his neck and pushes him towards the ring.  Wilber orders Leon into the ring and then the match begins.  Anthony and Master Bull held their own throughout the match but about 15 minutes in, Wilber began to battle back.  At the 21 minute mark, Wilber looked to ceiling and raised his arms.  Just then, the lights went out and began to strobe.  They stabilized a moment later but Leon and Anthony had their eyes glazed over.  Wilber gave the word and they turned and attacked Bull.  The ref seeing Anthony “turn” on his partner rang the bell citing a DQ.  The ref awards the match to Master Bull only however that didn’t stop the onslaught that Leon and Boom were putting on Bull.  Just then, the music changed and out comes El Chango.  He rushed down to the ring and grabbed a chair and Wilber, Leon and Boom all bailed out of the ring.  Wilber directed Anthony and Leon to the back still under the “spell” Wilber put them under.  Before walking behind the curtain, Wilber turned around, smiled a creepy smile and said “Welcome to the Funhouse”.  He laughed as he went backstage.  (21 min)

Backstage, Steel Curtain member Starbuck Steel is cutting a promo.  “It’s been some time since I’ve held the World Championship and now I have the chance to do it again.  Wildfire, you are a great competitor and so far have been a great champion but now you get to face me, not the Banker, not Rad Gumbo, me.  I won’t make a promise to the outcome but I can tell you this…if somehow you walk away with the title, you’ll know you would have had the toughest match of your career.”

We cut to the other interview area where World Champion Texas Wildfire is.  “Many great men have held this title and I’m sure many will follow.  Right now, I am the king of this mountain.  Lots of competitors are clamoring for a shot at this and I welcome any and all of them.  As the championship committee deems them worthy, they can have their moment to shine.  Tonight, Starbuck, is your time.  Let’s see what you’ve got.”

There is a commotion backstage where we see Col. Flagg attacking El Chango.  The two are fighting throwing each other into boxes and walls.  After hitting a low blow, Flagg took off.  El Chango was helped to his feet and stood there seething.

It’s time for our main event.  First, the music hits and the fans pop pretty loudly for Starbuck Steel as he makes his way down to the ring.  He gets into the ring and climbs one of the turnbuckles and the fans pop loudly.  Next, the music changes and the fans blow the roof off as the World Champion Texas Wildfire comes out.  He stands on the stage and the noise just gets louder.  He moves to the front of the stage and pyro goes off behind him.  He makes his way down to the ring high fiving the fans.  He makes a trip around the ring and then enters.  He climbs a turnbuckle holding the title high.  The noise is deafening.  He steps down and hands the title to the ref.  He and Starbuck meet in the center of the ring and shake hands before the bell rings starting this one off.

The match ends in a draw and you could tell there were some frustrations between both wrestlers.  They ended up shaking hands much to the delight of the fans.  Wildfire raised Starbuck’s arm and Starbuck pointed to Wildfire.  Starbuck left allowing Wildfire to stay in the ring and soak in the applause from the fans.  The show comes to an end with Texas Wildfire holding his title high and the fans cheering.

We cut immediately backstage where Starbuck is being attacked after walking through the curtain.  Wilber Townsend, Leon Teremoto and Anthony Boom are punching and stomping away.  Master Bull, Buzz Steel and El Chango all rush over and chase the attackers away.  Starbuck is a bit beat up but seems to be ok for the most part.

More on this to follow.  Stay Tuned.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #781 – Tacoma Thunder (7/14)

Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of HCW’s Tacoma Thunder.  Today’s show begins back in GM Max McGillicutty’s office and he is with the in-house investigator Gardinia Blue.  Max asks for an update into the investigation of the masked person who interfered in the Banker/Davis Hoffmeister match.  Gardinia says that she was able to figure it out pretty easily.  She points to some things on a monitor that we don’t get to see.  “Here, here and here.  I think it’s a slam dunk.”  Max says that he’s going to make a trip to Phoenix later this week to have a conversation with Phoenix GM Ruth Heartless.

Pyro goes off and our first match of the evening is ready to kick off.  The loudspeakers explode with “APOLLO GYZE DON’T APOLOGIZE” and out comes the former Hardcore champion.  The fans boo and mock him but all he does is sneer at them and makes his way down to the ring.  He jawjacks with the fans and they change their tune when the music changes and out comes Apollo doesn’t get much in the way of offense in as Biceps totally overpowered him.  It only took 6 minutes and a Full Nelson lift and slam to Apollo down for the 3 count.  Biceps gets the win and leaves.  Apollo tries to complain to the ref but he is ignored.  Apollo ends up storming off.

Backstage, Sassy Maxine DeVito is being interviewed.  She says it’s unfortunate that her former manager Matt Preacher is gone but this is her time to shine.  She throws out a challenge tonight to the British Crippler for her spot in the top 10 lineup.   She knows that the Crippler has to accept and will make her way back to a title shot.

Our next match is ready to go.  Wendell Hammerschmidt makes his way out first to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  As he is heading to the ring, the Omegatron lights up and we see Wendell’s opponent walking to the stage.  It’s the new guy Killa’ Pops.  He walks by a sulking Apollo and tells him “Watch how it’s done” and makes his way out to a pop from the crowd.  He shakes hands with the fans as he makes his way to the ring.  He gets in and raises both arms to pops from the crowd.  The match begins with Wendell attacking him but it didn’t last long as Killa took the match to his opponent.  About 18 minutes into the match, Apollo comes back out and tries to distract Pops but it doesn’t work.  Killa throws Wendell over his shoulder and delivers a shoulder breaker before dropping him to the mat.  Pops looks at Apollo and smiles as the ref’s hand hits the mat once…twice…a third time.  Killa Pops gets the win in his debut match.  Apollo slaps the mat and storms off again.  Pops interacts with the fans before heading to the back.  (20 min)

Backstage, the British Crippler via a promo tells Maxine she accepts the challenge and will see her in the ring.

Back in the GM’s office, Max is meeting with Master Bull who made the trek up from Phoenix.  “You know, I made the trip up here so that I can say my peace without GM Ruth shutting me down.  Anyway, I wanted to officially issue a challenge to Drew the Canadian Love Machine for a shot at the TV title.”  Max raises his eyebrows.  “You know just as well as I that Drew is one of the biggest stars in HCW and the fans love him.  Is issuing a challenge going to put you in a bad light with the fans?”  Bull shakes his head.  “I don’t think so.  I’m making fun of his choice of vehicles, where he lives or any disparaging remarks about his family.  I just want to meet him one on one for the title HOWEVER I want the match in Tacoma; not Phoenix.”  Max says “Yeah, we can make that happen.  Let’s see on Wednesday if Drew accepts.”  The two shake hands and the segment ends.

We head back to the ring for the next match.  First, Sassy Maxine DeVito comes out to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Ever since parting ways with ‘the Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher, Maxine has been seeing an uptick in the fans responsiveness towards her.  She gets into the ring and waits.  The music changes and out comes the British Crippler.  She power walks to the ring and gets right in standing nose to nose with Maxine.  She removes her jacket and the match begins.  Maxine had control for the first 3 minutes but then the Crippler started to make a run.  Eventually Maxine got her groove back and threw the Crippler out of the ring.  She got back in pretty quick however she ate a big foot to the face when she got back in.  Maxine went for the pin but only got a 2 count.  Maxine followed it up with a chinlock choke that she turned into a pin but the Crippler got to the ropes almost immediately.  The Crippler hit the Nattie by Nature but didn’t capitalize on it.  Maxine recovered quickly locking in a guillotine choke.  She immediately turned it into a pin and with a handful of tights, she was able to get the 1-2-3.  Maxine gets the win and moves back up the rankings.  She gets a few boos this time for the illegal hooking of the tights but the fans are starting to warm up to her.  (15 min)

We are treated to a vignette from Jack Lumber.  It’s a mixture of a public service announcement (if you cut down a tree, be sure to plant one to take its place) and a jab at the Axe.  Lumber says he’s not sure where all the hatred from the Axe is coming from but if Axe is that offended by him, they can settle their differences in the ring.

We go back to the ring for the next match.  First, Ivan Dragovich comes out to boos from the crowd.  He flips off the fans and says some not-so-nice things back to them.  The music changes and the fans pop as Buzz Steel makes his way out for singles competition.  Buzz interacts with the fans but then Ivan gets on the mic and says that Buzz was once great when he was the World Champion but now he’s the sad sack part of the 6 man tag team champions.  Ivan says that Buzz needs to man up and says that their match should be a falls count anywhere match.  Buzz accepts and then slaps Ivan across the face before going to town.  Buzz managed to control the pace of the match but Ivan had great presence of mind to use the ropes to break holds or stop counts.  Ivan began to take the match to the outside of the ring.  He removed the padding at ringside and began to set up for a DDT but Buzz hit a Buzz Cut on the concrete floor.  HOLY SHIT chants rang out.  Buzz went for the pin but somehow Ivan kicked out.   Ivan battled back connecting with a jumping side kick.  He went for the pin but Buzz kicked out.  Ivan called for and hit a second jumping side kick.  He went for the pin again but didn’t realize the time limit was expiring.  He barely got a 2 count before the bell rang bringing this one to a draw finish.  Ivan started to complain but then Buzz got to his feet and hit the Buzz Kill sending Ivan out of the ring.  Buzz stands tall as the fans pop.  Ivan mutters under his breath and backs up the ramp.  Buzz eventually leaves. (20 min draw)

Backstage, Tommy Lightning is ecstatic.  “Tonight, I finally get a shot at a title and people stop ducking me.  Tonight, I get a shot at the US title.  Wicked Prophet, your time as champion is over.  No one understands why you are the champion but once a REAL MAN takes that title, you will see how it’s really done.”

We go back to the ring for some tag team action.  First, Maximillian Redbeard and Superquake Ferguson comes out to a pop from the crowd.  Maximillian gets on the mic and says that the Jacks got lucky in their last match but the next time, he and Superquake will be better prepared and then WATCH OUT…those belts will change hands.”  The music changes and out comes the Regulators – Mule and Mammoth.  They get a mixed reaction from the fans as they make their way to the ring.  They get in the ring and the bell rings almost immediately.  The match stayed pretty close throughout their battle but about 8 minutes in, after a few rounds of double teaming by the Regulators, Ferguson got hurt but managed to make the hot tag to Redbeard.  Maximillian was able to hold the Regulators mostly at bay.  At the 15 minute mark, Regulator Mule hit a Regulator roundhouse.  Redbeard about exploded and took him out with a knoggin stomp.  Redbeard went for the pin and got the 3 count.  Mammoth tried to get in the ring and go after Maximillian but Ferguson lumbered into the ring and grabbed him and dropped him with the Cutting Edge.  Redbeard and Ferguson get the win and move back up the tag team rankings.   Redbeard motions that they are coming back after the belts.  (15 min)

The US Champion the Wicked Prophet is backstage.  “Hatred was planted in your squelching heart Timmy Sparkle and I will reap your soul!  I accept your offer to lose to me in the ring.  This will not be a challenge.”

It’s time for our main event.  First, Tommy Lightning comes out to boos from the fans.  He jaw jacks with them his entire journey down to the ring.  He continues to blabber until the music changes and out comes the US Champion the Wicked Prophet.  Prophet gets a mild pop as the fans seem to prefer him over whiney Tommy.    The champ makes his way to the ring but Tommy rushes out and attacks him before he can make his way into the ring.  Tommy introduces Prophet the hard way into the steel steps.  He also bounces Prophet’s head off those same steps before rolling him into the ring.  This attack gave Tommy the advantage throughout the match.  About 10 minutes in, Tommy’s tag partners the Smashers came out and caused a distraction that took the refs attention and Tommy blasted WP with a steel chair knocking him out.  Tommy picks up Prophet and hits an underhook suplex.  Prophet is out so he is not able to kick out when Tommy makes the cover and gets the 3 count.  In what is the biggest miscarriage of justice, Tommy Lightning has just defeated Wicked Prophet to become the NEW US CHAMPION!  Tommy takes the belt and begins running around the ring.  This brings out GM Max McGillicutty.  Max says that he is not here to reverse any decision the ref had made but to call attention to the blatant disregard of the rules.  Max says that the Wicked Prophet is due a rematch and that will happen NOW!

Tommy begins the match going for a sunset flip but Prophet hits the Devil’s Snare.   Prophet follows it up with the Fire, Walk with me.  Tommy goes for a sunset flip again and grabs the tights trying to steal another win.  The ref counted to 2 before stopping the count getting Tommy to break the hold.   Prophet is back to his feet and hits the Baptism of Fire.  Tommy looks to be out on his feet.  Prophet then drags Tommy to the center of the ring and locks in the Crucifix Clutch.   The ref checks on Tommy who struggles before tapping out.  The Wicked Prophet has just won back the US title making him a 2x champion.  The fans pop as they truly prefer him over Tommy.  Tommy slinks his way to the back with his head held low while Prophet stays in the ring and holds the title proudly over his head.

Lots of great action tonight with lots more to look forward to so stay tuned.
