HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2018 #735– Zero Hour PPV Day 2

Hello fans and welcome back to Day 2 of our Zero Hour PPV live from Denver, Colorado.  Once again, the show is completely sold out but you can catch it on PPV TV. 

As a recap, from our last show, we saw Apollo Gyze defeat Hardcore Hensen to become the new Hardcore Champion.  Jacques Beannot also lost his title to Leon Teremoto.  Leon was quick to drop the ITF name and change it back to the US title.  To add more fuel to the fire and giving ‘the Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher’s team it’s third loss of the night, Violet Valkyrie defeated Vanilla Zombie within the confines of the steel cage.  The highlight of the evening came when, during a triple threat match for the Ladies title, Ruby Rose pins champion Ravishing Raquel to become the new Ladies Champion.  Congratulations to all the winners from last night’s show.

Tonight, our show will be just as entertaining.  The Six Man Tag Team titles are on the line with the champs the 5^th Column defending against the Steel Curtain and a partner not yet named as Tommy Lightning is still injured.  We have our finals for the Tag Team titles with Preacher’s team of Hensen and Beannot taking on Scooter J and TNT.  World Champion ‘the Ragin Cajun’ King Rad Gumbo defends his title against Texas Wildfire.  There are three grudge matches on the card with Hayley Hailstone taking on the British Crippler;  the battle royal winner ‘Red Hot’ Lucas Johnston taking on ‘Big Money’ Ned Rhyerson III; and Drew the Canadian Love Machine taking on the Elitist Reid Rothchild.  Our main event will be a Hell in a Cell match between the Unknown Assassin vs Dr. Red Fang with the loser out of HCW.   Those two egos are more than anyone can handle and at this point, one has to go.

Our show kicks off with pyro going off on stage and the spotlights shining throughout the arena.  Our first match is ready to begin.  First, ‘Big Money’ Ned Rhyerson III comes out and the fans boo him pretty badly.  He yells back and them and flips a few of them off.  He gets in the ring and begins to jawjack with the fans.  The music changes and last night’s Battle Royal winner ‘Red Hot’ Lucas Johnston comes out carrying his trophy to a huge pop from the crowd.  He high fives the fans as he makes his way down to the ring.  Rhyerson is pacing in the ring.  Lucas sets his trophy on the commentators table and then gets into the ring.

Rhyerson attacks Lucas staring this one off pretty fast. Rhyerson pushed Lucas around quite a bit (maybe he hadn’t had enough rest from his battle royal win). 9 minutes in, Lucas catches Ned with a flying dropkick.  He took too long to make the cover so by the time he draped his arm over Ned, Ned kicked right out.  Ned came back with a punch to Lucas’ head.  He went for a pin but only got a 2 count.  Ned goes for a dropkick but it’s reversed and Lucas catches him with a flying bodypress.  He makes the cover but Ned kicks out at 2.  After a bit of back and forth action, Ned catches Lucas with a knee lift.  He goes for the pin but Lucas gets his foot on the bottom rope.  Ned gets a little frustrated and leaves the ring.  He grabs Lucas’ trophy and hides it from the ref.  Ned then exclaims that he sees something in the audience.  As soon as the ref turned away, Ned blasted Lucas with the trophy destroying it.  Ned stands Lucas up (he’s practically out on his feet and nails him with a flying dropkick.  Ned makes the cover and gets the 1-2-3.  Ned Rhyerson steals a win.  The ref checks on Lucas and notices he’s bleeding.  He is not sure where that came from until he saw pieces of the trophy strewn about the ring.  He begain to question Ned but Ned shook his head no, he had nothing to do with it and then bolted to the back before the ref could reverse his decision.  I’m sure Lucas will want payback.

We head backstage with Larry Morton and he is with the Steel Curtain.  Larry asks if the Curtain have chosen their teammate to replace the injured Tommy Lightning.  Buzz says that he and Starbuck can’t seem to decide on who they want. Buzz and Starbuck do ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors’ and Starbuck wins.  He says that he thinks the fans will appreciate their choice.  Buzz leans in and says “Word”.

The Wicked Prophet is back at his interviewing duties.  He is with the 6 Man Tag Team Champions the 5^th Column.  Baron von Blood speaks for the team and says that they will send the Curtain home empty handed and they can go cry to their mommies about losing.  Karl interjects and says that they are the best team in the world and no one can touch them.  The Prophet asks if they are worried about who the Curtain pick as their teammate and Oswald steps in and asks the Prophet if he wants a knuckle sandwich.  When WP replies with “no”, Oswald says “then you have your answer”.  The Column walk off.

Our next match is ready to go.  First, the music hits and out comes the Steel Curtain.  Buzz and Starbuck soak in the huge pop they are getting from the fans.  Starbuck holds up a finger and Buzz points to the back and out comes…Biceps Bannerman.  The crowd just about loses it. The trio make their way to the ring and once in there, Buzz takes a mic and says that they were only having fun with the Column (making them wait) as Bannerman was ALWAYS their choice.  Their music stops and changes and out comes the 5^th Column – the 6 Man Tag Team Champions.  They make their way to the ring and mockingly laugh at their opponents in the ring.  They hand the titles to the ref and this one begins.  For the first two minutes of the match, the champions were in control but after some triple teaming by their opponents, the Curtain and Bannerman started blowing them up.  4 minutes in, Bannerman gets tagged in and Baron viciously eye rakes him but that doesn’t prevent the big man from hurling him out of the ring.  Baron tried to call it quits but the Steel Curtain (22 min)

The Wicked Prophet is backstage with Drew the Canadian Love Machine.  Drew says he’s been on a slump as of late and it’s all been due to Reid Rothchild’s interference.  Tonight, he gets Reid one on one (no manager) and he proves that he still has got “it”.

Clarkus Kentus is in the interview area with Reid.  Reid says that Drew has had his time in the limelight and now it’s time to fade away.  He says that he will be the catalyst that ends Drew’s career in HCW.

We go back to the ring for our next match.  First, music plays and out comes Drew the Canadian Love Machine.  The fans pop huge for him and he high-fives the fans as he makes his way down to the ring.  He gets in and stands in his corner.  Next, Reid’s music hits and out comes ‘The Elitist’.  Reid Rothchild makes his way down to the ring as the fans boo him.  He doesn’t seem to care.  The match begins with Reid taking control hitting a series of chops (WOOOOOO), the chicken wing and a Reid Bottom but Drew hit a corkscrew pescado and went for a quick cover only to get a 1 count.  Drew went for it again but Reid reversed it hitting the Spinnarooni.  Reid locks in the Figure four trying to get Drew to tap out but he makes it to the ropes.  Drew began taking the match to Reid until a Rock Bottom brought it to an end. Reid took back control of the match and began to dominate.  Drew gets tossed out of the ring but makes it back in by the 8 count.  Drew gets desparate and tries for the corkscrew again but Reid reverses it hitting the Rothchild leg drop.  Drew gets up and hits a powerslam out of nowhere.  The fans pop huge.  Reid attempts a comeback with a leg drop but Drew moves out of the way and Reid hits nothing but air.  Drew calls once again for the corkscrew pescado and connects.  He makes the cover and the ref counts 1…2…3.  Drew the Canandian Love Machine gets the win and the fans pop huge for him.  He climbs the second turnbuckle and feeds of the energy the fans send his way.  Reid rolls out of the ring and starts to make his way to the back but he stops, grabs a fan’s chair and rushes back into the ring and SMACKS Drew with it.  Drew falls back into the ring.  Reid begins to whallop him with the chair and then sets it around Drew’s ankle.  He then climbs to the second turnbuckle and the ref gets in the way to prevent what is about to happen.  Reid pushes the ref out of the way and then jumps landing on the chair and seemingly breaks Drew’s ankle.  The fans gasp in horror as Drew rolls around on the mat in excruciating pain.  Reid laughs and walks away.  Medics rush from the back and load Drew on to a gurney.  He is then taken to the back to a waiting ambulance and rushed to the hospital.  We hope he’ll be ok.  (18 min for the match; 7 for the aftermath)

Larry Morton calls the British Crippler over and asks if she has anything to say about her opponent Hayley Hailstone.  The Crippler says she has no comment but then stops and ask Larry “What happens when a hailstone melts?”  Larry says “It turns to water and eventually is soaked up or evaporates”.  “Right” the Crippler adds “and that is what will happen with little miss Hayley.  Be prepared to evaporate into nothingness.”  She walks off.

Hayley Hailstone is backstage with the Wicked Prophet.  WP says that Hayley is about as positive as he’s ever seen anyone.  Hayley says that it is her nature to always be positive and it doesn’t matter if you’re dog siting, people watching or wrestling, you have to believe in yourself.  She adds that the belief in herself is what will get her the win tonight.

The next match starts off with the British Crippler making her way out to the ring as the fans boo.  She doesn’t seem to care.  Once in the ring, the music changes and out comes “Ms. Smiles” Hayley Hailstone.  Hayley is a hugger and she hugs the fans as she makes her way to the ring.  The fans cheer her on and you can tell it only raises her confidence.  Just as she entered the ring, the British Crippler attacked her starting this one off.  The Crippler controlled the first 5 minutes of the match but when Hayley hit the Death Valley Driver, that about sealed the Cripplers fate.  Hayley connects the Flirting with Danger knee.  The fans pop and she soaks it in. The Crippler tries for a German suplex but Hayley reverses it and hits another Death Valley Driver right in the middle of the ring.  She makes the cover and gets the 3 count.  Hayley gets the win and the fans pop huge for her.  She leaves to the cheering from the fans and eventually the Crippler makes her way backstage.  (8 min)

Backstage, the Wicked Prophet is with TNT and Scooter J.  Scooter J says that he couldn’t imagine having made it this far but now that they did, they will go all…the…way.  TNT adds that 6 months ago, no one would have seen the two of them teaming up but they’ve proven that they can carry the division.  Scooter J says that even though he’s no longer aligned with Matt Preacher, they have not forgotten the role that Nix Anderson played in injuring him.  TNT says that when they defeat Preachers Punks, they will stand at the apex of the division and will do the fans proud.

Clarkus Kentus is with ‘the Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher, Jacques Beannot and Hardcore Hensen. Preacher says that both Jacques and Hensen were robbed of their singles titles so that only makes them more dangerous as the fight for the tag team titles.  Jacques says that it’s funny that the sheep (fans) cheer for losers like TNT and Scooter J.  Tonight, Matt will add ‘tag team champions’ to his list of accomplishments and the division will bow to them because….(he looks and points to Hensen)…”BECAUSE WE’RE HARDCORE!”  The trio then leave.

The finals of the Tag Team tournament and crowning of new champions begins now.  First, Scooter J and TNT come out to a pop from the crowd.  They make their way to the ring and stop to have a quick chat with their families sitting at ringside.  They enter the ring and await their opponents.  Next, the music changes and out comes ‘the Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher and he leads out his team consisting of Jacques Beannot and Hardcore Hensen.  Hensen and Beannot get to wrestle for the 2^nd time during this weekend but they don’t seem worried.  All 4 men get into the ring and stand toe to toe before the ref separated them.  After sending them to their respective corners, the ref holds up the newly created Tag Team titles and they are beautiful.  Scooter J and TNT started off strong and used that momentum to carry them through the match.  Preacher inserted himself in early after Jacques hit the Spreadsheet but TNT retaliated and took Preacher out of the equation for 8 minutes.  TNT and Scooter J capitalized on that and owned the match.  We now join the match at the 16 minute mark.

Scooter J and TNT get the win and become the NEW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!!!  The fans pop huge for them and they stay in the ring soaking in the reaction from the fans.  Preacher gathered up his team and they headed to the back.

Larry Morton is backstage and he congratulates Scooter J and TNT for becoming the new Tag Team Champions.  He then introduces Texas Wildfire and asks TW if he is ready for the chance of a lifetime.  Texas Wildfire responds:  “You know, ever since I was a smoldering ember, I’ve had the dream of becoming a wrestler.  Not just any old wrestler mind you but the World Champion.  This is something I’ve aspired for my whole life.  Now, tonight, I get that chance.  I won the opportunity to face King Rad Gumbo and I plan on making every minute count.  There is a reason he is the champion but tonight, he faces me and not only with the fans on my side but a little luck, the chances are great of me walking out with the title.  Gumbo, I hope you’re ready as I am.”  TW walks off.

We cut to a different part of the interview area and the Wicked Prophet is standing with the World Champion ‘the Ragin Cajun’ King Rad Gumbo and his manager Queen Alexandria.  Gumbo first offers congratulations for a job well done in refereeing last night.  True to his word, he called it down the middle.  Gumbo asks the Prophet what he foresees as the outcome.  The Wicked Prophet replies “You are the champ and the center of the HCW universe.  Nothing short of a miracle will change that.”  Gumbo nods.  “You are right.  I’m not taking anything away from Texas Wildfire as he has proven that he is ready for the big time but tonight I will have to disappoint as I will be walking out with my title tonight and nothing will change that.  Wildfire, get ready for some 7:30”.

It’s time for our World Title match.  First, Texas Wildfire comes out to a huge pop from the crowd.   He high fives the fans and rolls into the ring under the bottom rope.  He climbs the turnbuckle and the fans somehow pop even louder.  His time with the fans is cut short when, over the loudspeakers blares “GUMBO 7:30 SAYS ITS SUPPA TIME, BITCH!” and out comes the Ragin Cajun himself, the World Champion King Rad Gumbo.  Gumbo is accompanied by Queen Alexandria and the two make their way down to the ring with all the pomp and circumstance he’s entitled to carried out on a throne held up by people dressed as jesters.  Gumbo makes it to the ring and he and Alexandria step foot into the ring.  The fans boo the champion but he ignores them and holds his title high.  He finally hands it over to the ref and stands nose to nose with Texas Wildfire in the middle of the ring.  The ref separates them and then starts the match.

Texas Wildfire defeats Rad Gumbo to become the NEW WORLD CHAMPION.  The fans pop and give him a standing ovation.  Queen Alexandria puts her arm around Rad and the two head to the back.  Texas Wildfire remains in the ring for 5 minutes celebrating with the fans before he finally heads to the back.

The Wicked Prophet is backstage with the Unknown Assassin and his manager ‘the Honorable’ JC Dykes.  Dykes says that tonight, HCW is finally rid of the phony vampire bot Dr. Red Fang.  Tonight, the Unknown Assassin shows why he is a bad, bad man and then will dominate the sport as no other man has ever done.  UA steps up and makes a very rare comment.  “Fang, tonight, you’re done.”  The two then walk off with Dykes cackling.

Clarkus Kentus is with Dr. Red Fang and his manager Ant Graham.  Graham says he speaks for Fang and in the cell, the Unknown Assassin watches his career in HCW comes to an end.  Tonight, Fang (who stands there snarling) shows he’s the best.  Graham looks at the camera and says “Say hello to my little friend.”

The Hell in the cell is completely set up and our main event is ready to go.  First, the Unknown Assassin and his manager JC Dykes comes out first and they are booed as they head down to the ring.  Once there, the Assassin enters the cell.  The music changes and we hear blaring over the loudspeakers “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE” and out comes Dr. Red Fang and his manager Ant Graham.   They too are booed as they head down to the ring and Fang enters the Hell in a Cell.  Only one man walks out of here with a job and the other will be gone for good…along with his manager.  The bell rings and this one begins.

JC Dykes can’t believe what just happened.  The Unknown Assassin is in shock.  Ant Graham runs around the ring like a goofball (think Macauley Culklin from Home Alone).  Graham enters the cell and stands with Dr. Red Fang and he laughs as the show comes to an end.

After the cameras stopped rolling, Master Bull and Max McGillicutty came out again to thank the fans for attending and promised great things for 2019.

Thanks for reading.  We will be on hiatus until next year but we are sure things will pick up where they left off.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2018 #734 – Zero Hour PPV Day 1

Hello fans and welcome to the Mile High City who is hosting our end of the year PPV – HCW’s Zero Hour.  Over the next two days, we will cover a total of 14 matches and every title will be on the line.  Here is the lineup for today’s show:

Magnum Kone vs the Banker

TV title:  Davis Hoffmeister (champ) vs Nix Anderson (rematch)
Angry Jack vs Superquake Ferguson – Street Fight
ITF Champion:  Jacques Beannot vs Leon Teremoto (WP special guest referee)

Violet Valkyrie vs Vanilla Zombie – Steel Cage – the winner gets the first title shot at the Ladies champion
Ladies title:  Ravishing Raquel vs Ruby Rose vs Kimberly Kiccsass – Steel Cage

Pyro goes off kicking off our show and we immediately cut backstage where reporter Clarkus Kentus is with the Wicked Prophet.  Clarkus asks if Prophet is ready to put on the pin stripes.  WP says that he’s committed to calling the match down the line and will call Jacques out if he so much tries to cheat.  He says the same will apply to Leon if he tries to break the rules but he doesn’t foresee any issues there.  WP says that during the break, he’ll be hitting the gym every day to get ready for his in-ring debut in January. 

We cut to the ring and music plays as GM’s Max McGillicutty and Master Bull make their way out and down to the ring.  They take turns thanking the fans for attending and watching live on PPV.  Max says most of the feuds that have been going on throughout the year may finally see a resolution.  Master Bull lets the fans know that both shows in Denver are sold out.  He says that there had been some request for a follow up show but they are committed to giving the roster the much needed time off (and besides, he has a LOT of laundry to do). They leave the ring as more pyro goes off.

Our first match is ready to begin.  First, The Banker along with his manager Ruth Heartless comes out and the fans boo them pretty badly.  He turns his nose up at them and even threatens to hit one with his briefcase.    He gets in the ring and begins to jawjack with the fans.  The music changes and we hear the familiar chime from an ice cream cart and ‘the King of Cones’ Magnum Kone begins to make his way out.  He begins handing out ice cream to the kids at ringside and they continue to pop for him.  Once he completed his task, he gets into the ring.  The Banker immediately attacks him with the briefcase before the bell rang.  The ref finally got the briefcase away from him and after checking on Magnum, called for the match to begin.  The attack put Magnum at a disadvantage throughout most of the match but no matter what the Banker did, Magnum kept taking it.  Magnum started making some momentum but that came to a halt after Ruth got involved.  Magnum the retaliated against Ruth handcuffing her to the ringside barrier taking her out of the match.  The Banker kept up the offense but then Magnum decided he’d had enough and began ‘hulking up’.  The Banker hit Magnum again and Magnum began shaking.  One more shot and Magnum stood tall and pointed a finger (ala Hulk Hogan) at the Banker and the Banker’s eyes went wide.  Magnum locks in the Drumstick (armbar), scoop slams the Banker and then hurls him into the corner and follows it up with the Ice Cream Sandwich (splash in corner).  The Banker falls to the mat.  Magnum makes the cover getting the 1-2-3.  Magnum gets the win and the fans pop huge for him.  The Banker rolls out of the ring and crawls over to Ruth.  He finds the keys that were dropped on the floor and frees Ruth from the cuffs.  She helps him to the back as Magnum celebrates in the ring.  He eventually leaves.  (26 min)

Backstage, Larry Morton is with Nix Anderson.  Anderson says that Matt Preacher cost him his livelihood and now, on his own, he will regain the title from Davis and there is nothing that he can do about it.

We cut to a different interview area where Clarkus Kentus is with TV Champion Davis Hoffmeister.  Davis says that Nix is one tough individual but, as he’s proven time and again, there is a reason he’s at the top of the ladder.  Davis tells Nix to bring his A-game as tonight, the better man is walking out with the TV championship.

We go back to the ring for our next match.  First, Nix Anderson comes out to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  He just makes his way to the ring and climbs in.  He goes and stands in a neutral corner.  Next, the music changes and the fans pop huge for the TV Champion Davis Hoffmeister.   Davis takes his title off, holds it high and puts it over his shoulder and makes his way down to the ring.  He enters and immediately climbs a turnbuckle and psyches up the crowd by holding the title over his head.  Davis walks to the center of the ring and hands the title to the ref.  The bell rings and this one is off.  Nix actually controls the pace of the match much to the surprise of the champ.  Well, Davis did tell Nix to bring his A-Game and it’s clear that he did.  13 minutes into the match, Nix began to sing to the crowd and then noticed that Davis was still down after hitting the Nixinator.  He went over to make the cover but he wasted too much time and only got a 2 count.  Davis battled back with a monkey flip followed by a dropkick.  Nix hit the Nix Strut but Davis threw him out of the ring.  Just as he was attempting to get back in, Hardcore Hensen came in from the crowd and hit Nix with the Hard Times and then threw him into the steel steps.  He then took off before the ref saw what was going on.  The ref began to count and eventually reached 10 and counted Nix out.  Davis retains the TV title via countout decision.  Davis leaves to a pop from the crowd.  Nix makes it back to his feet and he’s steeming.  He makes his way back unassisted.  (18 min)

Clarkus Kentus is backstage with Angry Jack Lawson.  Jack says that Ferguson never had anyone’s back but his own so he said that he made a call and things will change. 

Larry Morton is backstage with Supequake Ferguson.  Ferguson calls Angry Jack selfish and, well, full of anger.  He tells Jack to get help after tonight.

We head to the ring again and it starts off with Angry Jack Lawson coming out to booing from the fans.  Jack flips off some of the fans and threatens to hit others.  He gets in the ring and yells for Ferguson to get out there.  The music changes and out comes Superquake Ferguson to a pop from the crowd.  This match will have Street Fight rules so pretty much anything goes.  Once Superquake entered the ring, it didn’t take long for the two former partners to begin slugging it out.  Right away, the ref gets tossed out of the ring and is incapacitated.  The action then spilled outside the ring, on the ramp and the stage.  Finally, it was brought back to the ring.  Jack removed the corner turnbuckle cover.  Supequake locked in a bearhug but Jack got out of it, smashed Ferguson’s head into the exposed bracket and then hit him with a chokeslam.  That could have been it but the ref was just now recovering and the opportunity was missed.  Jack went over and began to yell at the ref.  Superquake got to his feet.  Jack then turned around and rushed at Superquake only to eat a big foot to the face.  Superquake made the cover and used all of his weight to keep Jack down for the 3 count.  Superquake gets the win and the fans pop for him.  Just as he was getting ready to leave, some guy rushes in from the crowd and begins to attack Ferguson.  Angry Jack recovers and the two beat Superquake down taking him out of the ring.  They then hit a double chokeslam on Superquake putting him through the ringside table.  Angry Jack stands tall with his new found partner.  I guess we’ll eventually find out who he is.  (17 min for the match; 3 for the aftermath)

Larry Morton is backstage with Leon Teremoto.  Leon says that as long as he gets a fair shake, he will be victorious.  When asked about how he was going to deal with potential interference from ‘the Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher, Leon responded “That is why we have an impartial referee.”  Larry wishes Leon good luck.

Also backstage, Clarkus Kentus is with the ITF Champion Jacques Beannot and his manager Matt Preacher.  Jacques says that he’s happy that no-talent goofball the Wicked Prophet isn’t here as he can barely hold a microphone.  Clarkus reminds Jacques that the Wicked Prophet will be refereeing his match tonight.  Preacher butts in and tells WP that he better call it down the middle or he will be facing a lawsuit so huge he’ll never work anywhere again.

First, the Wicked Prophet comes out dressed as a referee and the fans pop for him.  He gets into the ring and then the music changes and out comes Leon Teremoto.  Leon too gets a nice pop from the crowd.  Once in the ring, the music changes and out comes the ITF Champion Jacques Beannot with his manager.  Jacques makes a beeline for the ring, climbs in and begins pointing a finger at both Leon and the Wicked Prophet – a warning perhaps?  The Wicked Prophet calls for the match to begin but Jacques hadn’t gotten his jacket off yet.  Preacher began yelling at WP and the Prophet had enough and ejected Matt Preacher from ringside.  Preacher was livid; Jacques was pissed.  Leon was in control for the first 5 minutes of the match but after that, Jacques took over.  Leon planted the champ with quite a few powerbombs and even a one-time fast count from the Wicked Prophet didn’t help.  Jacques connected with two flying fivearms but Leon came back with a sitout sideslam and a splash in the corner.  Jacques locked in a sleeperhold but Leon turned it into a powerbomb.  He went for the pin but only got a 1 count.  Jacques came back with a jaw jacker and then began to have words with the Wicked Prophet.  Jacques turns around only to get planted with a spine buster.  Leon goes for the pin and the Prophet counts 1….2….3.  Leon Teremoto gets the win and is the NEW US Champion.  The Prophet raises Leon’s arm in victory and the two of them leave to a pop from the crowd.  Jacques eventually left. (21 min)

Clarkus Kentus is backstage with Apollo Gyze.  Apollo says that after everything that’s been said and done and how the ‘man’ has been holding him back, he’s finally ready for a title shot.  Apollo says he’s not apologizing for anything he’s done as he would do it again.  Apollo looks at the camera and tells Hardcore that the House of Preacher will be short more gold tonight.

Larry Morton is backstage with the Hardcore Champion Hardcore Hensen and his manager ‘the Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher.  Preacher begins with calling the last match a travesty.  He says that there is no way on this earth that some schmuck like Leon could hold a candle to Jacques.  Larry says that Wicked Prophet called it right down the line with no favoritism show.  Preacher calls this ‘fake news’ and says that Jacques will get his title back.  Right now though, Hensen will easily destroy Apollo and the belt comes home with him.  Hensen and Preacher leave.

We head back to the ring and are treated to the eye rolling “APOLLO GYZE DON’T APOLOGIZE” and Apollo makes his way out to the ring.  The fans boo him but he doesn’t care.  He mocks the fans from the ring and waits.  Next, Hardcore Hensen and his manager Matt Preacher come out.  Preacher gives Hensen some words of wisdom (and slips something into Hensen’s pocket) and Hardcore heads to the ring.  This Tables, Ladders and Chairs match gets started right away.  Hensen had the early advantage hitting Apollo with a chair but a few minutes later, Apollo bloodied up Hensen after smashing him with a ladder. 13 minutes in, Hensen hits the ‘Hard Times’ and makes the pin nonchalantly.  The ref counts 1…2…KICKOUT!  Hensen can’t believe it.  A couple of minutes later, Hensen throws Apollo into the ref and the ref goes down.  Hensen hits a stiff chair shot on Apollo but Apollo manages to shake it off and hit a legdrop from the top of the ladder. Hensen hits another stiff chair shot followed by a stiff clothesline.  The ref is still down.   Apollo bounces back with a jumping clothesline and an eye gouge blinding the champ.   The ref is back up.  Hensen lays in with hard chops and Apollo hits a spin out powerbomb.  He goes for the pin but Hensen kicks out at one.   Hensen struggles to his feet and Apollo hits him with a flying dropkick.  He makes the cover hooking the leg (and tights) and gets his foot on the ropes.  The ref counts 1…2…3.  Apollo Gyze is the winner and the NEW Hardcore Champion!!!  Apollo grabs a mic and asks the fans “Who is the new Hardcore Champion?  ‘Dis Gyze.  He drops the mic, holds his new title high and leaves.  (23 min)

There is a 15 minute break as the steel cage gets set up for the next two matches.

Larry Morton is backstage with Violet Valkyrie.  Larry says that it was pretty devious of her to masquerade as ‘the Soccer Mom’.  Violet laughs and says that Vanilla Zombie loves to play head games so now it was her turn.  She says that this has gone on long enough between them.  The cage ends it for one of them tonight.

Clarkus Kentus is backstage with Vanilla Zombie and her manager Matt Preacher.  Preacher begins to talk but Vanilla puts her hand up silencing him.  She turns to the camera and actually speaks.  “Violet, the cage ends careers.  Tonight, I will put you through a world of pain before ending you.  Tonight, the Zombies will rise and carry you away to the netherworld.”  She then starts to cackle which is kind of disturbing.

The cage is assembled and we are ready for our next match.  First, Vanilla Zombie comes out accompanied by her manager Matt Preacher.  ‘The Singapore Sensation’ walks with Vanilla down to the ring and glances up at the 12’ high ominous structure.  She enters the ring and waits.  The music changes and as smoke fills the stage, Violet Valkyrie comes shooting through it on her zipline as she rockets toward the cage.  She disengages from the zipline and rappels down outside of the cage.  Vanilla then rushes over and locks the cage door.  Violet is unimpressed and begins to scale the cage going over the top and then dropping to the mat when at a safe height.  She stares at Vanilla who stares back.  The match begins and Violet was in control for the first 8 minutes until Matt Preacher threw a chain into the ring and Vanilla used it to bloody up Violet.  12 minutes in, Violet locks in the triangle choke trying for a submission but they were too close to the ropes and Vanilla grabbed the rope forcing for the hold to be released.  Vanilla got to her feet and Violet ran to the other side of the ring and slingshot herself into Vanilla sandwiching her between the ropes and cage.  Violet goes for the pin again but Vanilla kicks out at 2.  A couple of minutes later, the ref gets bumped and he’s down for 5 minutes.  Violet and Vanilla then began really beating the hell out of each other.  Violet locks in the triangle choke again but there is no ref.  Matt Preacher reached in and eye raked Violet forcing her to break the hold.  Vanilla hits a vertical suplex and then begins to scale the cage.  Preacher jumps on the cage helping to direct Vanilla up.  Violet rushes over again sandwiching Vanilla in between the ropes and cage.  The impact knocked Preacher from the cage and he fell to the floor.  Violet makes the cover and gets the 3 count but she has to still escape.  She makes a beeline for the door only to have Vanilla stop her.   Vanilla hits the Soul Crusher but doesn’t make the pin.  Violet gets back to her feet and reverses the next Soul Crusher and drops her with a one handed bulldog.  She begins to scale the cage but Vanilla is too slow to stop her.  Violet goes over the top and drops to the floor.  Violet gets the win in this extremely hard fought match.  Violet celebrates with the fans and makes her way to the back. Vanilla exits the cage and leaves with Preacher.  (27 min)

Clarkus Kentus is with Ruby Rose backstage.  Ruby says she’s been waiting for the moment and now it’s finally here.  She says that the war ends tonight and there will be one victor – her.  Tonight, her dreams of becoming the Ladies Champion come true.

Larry Morton is backstage with the 2^nd participant in our main event Kimberly Kiccsass.  Larry mentions that Ruby and Raquel teamed up to eliminate her from the battle royal.  Kimberly says that that is old news and the new news will be when she has her arm raised at the end of the night and is announced as the NEW Ladies Champion…that will be what people will be talking about.  She walks off.

Finally, the Ladies Champion is with Clarkus and she says that her competitors talk a big game.  She doesn’t care how talented they may be; they are not her and tonight, she proves it retaining her title in what is expected to be the best match of the night.  She heads to the ring.

It is time for our main event.  The steel cage is still in place.  First, Ruby Rose comes out to a HUGE pop from the crowd.  She high fives the fans and makes her way into the cage.  Next, Kimberly Kiccsass comes out and she is booed but she doesn’t care.  She also gets into the ring and stares daggers at Ruby.  Finally, the Ladies Champion Ravishing Raquel comes out to a decent pop from the crowd.  This Denver fan base is rooting for Ruby.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2018 #733 – Fanfest

Hello fans and welcome to HCW’s Fanfest.  The fans packed the venue almost to the point that the fire marshall almost had to come in and cap it.  Fortunately, the layout and placement of the wrestlers around the building allowed for a good flow. 

Things to note:  Elitism all sat at the same table minus their manager the Ambassador.  This marked the first time Reid, Roderick and Raquel were in the same place since Reid lost his job due to the Phoenix roster losing Elimination Chamber. 

Also, the Steel Curtain, the Mexicali Flyers, Drew the Canadian Love Machine, Texas Wildfire and Davis ‘the Hoff’ Hoffmeister also had great turnouts from their fans.  They signed autographs and took pictures for most of the day.  World Champion ‘the Ragin Cajun’ King Rad Gumbo and his manager Queen Alexandria demanded to be in an area all by themselves. 

What was really interesting was the turnout that interviewer the Wicked Prophet received.  For a guy who just conducts interviews, he did pretty damn well for himself.

After the event concluded, everyone made their way into the arena where a giant ring was set up to host the first ever all roster battle royal.  Once the fans were seated, music played and out comes GM’s Master Bull and Max McGillicutty.  Max thanks the fans for attending and said that he wanted to ensure the fans attending the fanfest got something special.  Master Bull says that the battle royal taking place here tonight will be taped but it will not be shown to the public outside of DVD to make this an extra special event.  The 78 person event is something to truly behold.  Max and Bull stepped aside as pyro went off and all 78 participants made their way down and into the ring.  Tommy Lightning and the Wicked Prophet did not participate as Tommy is injured and WP is not yet an in-ring performer.

The fans pop as Lucas remains in the ring and streamers and balloons fall from the ceiling.  Lucas calls Leslie Grimes to join him in the ring and she does.  Lucas acknowledges her for going as long as she did and the fans pop for her too.  Leslie leaves as Lucas is presented with a trophy that he holds high in celebration.
