HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2018 #717 – Tacoma Thunder

Hello Fans and welcome back to another installment of HCW’s Tacoma Thunder.  The day may have started off here dreary with some pretty heavy fog but our show was the highlight of the day. An agreement between GM’s Max McGillicutty and Master Bull allows for two cross promotion shows to air tonight.

The show begins backstage in the locker room.  GM Max McGillicutty says that tonight, there will be one Elimination Chamber qualifying match.   He draws two names and reads them out loud.  “First, we have ‘Big Money’ Ned Rhyerson III (someone in the crowd snickered which drew an angry look from Ned) and he’ll be taking on…Drew the Canadian Love Machine.  Also, the rest of tonight’s card is posted so you’ll know when and where.”  Everyone filtered out except for Drew and Ned.  Ned walked up to Drew and chuckled before walking away.

Pyro goes off and our show is ready to kick off.  First, Wendell Hammerschmidt comes out to booing from the crowd.  Next, the Crocodile Hunter comes out and the fans pop for him.  Wendell attacked Croc and for the first 3 minutes of the match, he controlled it but then Croc battled back and really took the match to Wendell.  Numerous times, Wendell tried to get himself counted out but Croc threw him back in each time and continued the offensive.  Both men then noticed that the time limit was close to expiring so Wendell then tried to get himself disqualified by hitting the ref but Croc prevented it by grabbing Wendell’s leg and pulling him into the middle of the ring locking in an ankle lock.  Wendell wouldn’t tap but made it to the ropes to break the hold.  Croc got right up and hit a vertical drop DDT.  That was all she wrote.  Croc made the cover and got the 1-2-3.  The Crocodile Hunter gets the win and the fans were happy about that.  He psyched them up for a moment and then left.  (19 min)

We head backstage and outside as a limo pulls up.  The door opens and out steps Queen Alexandria followed by World Champion ‘the Ragin Cajun’ King Rad Gumbo.  The fans boo but he ignores them.  They walk in and up to the match board and Rad sees that he is defending the World title tonight against…Muscles Weasley.  Gumbo shakes his head.  “Honestly, is this all they have for me?”  He and Queen Alexandria head off to his dressing room.

Our second match is ready to go.  First, Perfect Pecs Stoddard comes out and stands on the stage.  He begins flexing his pecs which draws even more booing.  He snears at them and makes his way down and into the ring.  Next, we hear the all-too-familiar ringing of a bell and out comes ‘the King of Cones’ Magnum Kone with his ice cream cart.  He gets a pop as he hands out ice cream to the kids.  Once his cart is depleted, he gets in the ring and this one is ready to go.  The man who refers to himself as the Celtic Censation (yes, he spells it that way) attacked Magnum and the two began battling it out.  Pecs controlled the match for the first 10 minutes but then with the crowd solidly behind him, Magnum began to battle back much to the fans’ delight.  Magnum’s offensive run came to a halt after Pecs dropped him with the Irish curse backbreaker.  He then followed it up with running double axe handle smash.  He went for a pin but Magnum kicked out at two.  He then blasted Magnum with the Ten Beats of Bodran and went for the pin again but Magnum grabbed the rope to break the hold at 1.  Frustrated, Pecs got into the ref’s face.  Magnum got to his feet, turned Pecs around and hit a Push Pop (leg sweep).  The bell rang just then bringing this one to a 20 min draw.  Pecs left first and on his way out, took Magnum’s ice cream cart and dumped it on its side.  This drew more ire from the fans and Pecs smirked all the way to the back.  Magnum righted the cart and left shortly thereafter.

Backstage, the Wicked Prophet is with Drew the Canadian Love Machine.

WP:  Drew, tonight, you are in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match against Ned Rhyerson.  What is your plan?

DTCLM:  Wicked Prophet, for those who don’t know, the Elimination Chamber is one of the deadliest structures ever created and it is a place where good things come to an end.  In this case, one roster’s team will lose their jobs.  I know it’s been echoed before but with all I’ve accomplished in HCW, I’m not ready to say goodbye so I will do everything in my power not to be put in that situation.  Ned is a big man but the saying goes…the bigger they are, the harder they fall.”

WP:  There you have it.  Drew vs Ned Rhyerson is up next.  Back to you at ringside.

Our next match begins with ‘Big Money’ Ned Rhyerson III making his way out as the fans boo.  He flips them off as he makes his way into the ring.  He jawjacks with some of the fans at ringside but he’s interrupted when the music changes and out comes Drew the Canadian Love Machine.  The fans practically explode when Drew comes out and the pop is so loud its deafening.  Drew makes his way down to the ring and then climbs one of the corner turnbuckles to an even louder pop from the crowd.  Ned immediately attacks him forcing this one to begin before Drew was ready.  Drew fought back with some chops but Ned stunned him with a knee lift.  Drew hit the La Casita but Ned took him off his feet with a flying dropkick.  Ned goes to the ropes and tries for something but Drew reverses it and hits a corkscrew pescado and goes for the pin but only gets a 2 count.   Ned stunned Drew again with a knee lift.   Ned hits an elbow smash and Drew hits the corkscrew pescado again for another near fall.   Drew connects with the Lover Bomb but Ned bounces his head off the corner turnbuckle.  Ned goes for an elbow smash again but Drew reverses it and bodyslams Rhyerson.  He goes for the pin but Ned kicks out at two.   Drew hits an arm drag take down but then Ned clips him behind the knee. He the locks in a step over toe hold.  He cinches it in and then grabs the top rope for extra leverage.  The ref doesn’t see it but does see Drew tap out.  Holy cow.  Drew the Canadian Love Machine tapped out (he almost never has) and now he goes on to represent Phoenix at the Chamber.  The fans give him a pop as he leaves but struggled to put any pressure on his leg.  The ref came out and helped him to the back.  (11 min)

Over in the interview area, the Wicked Prophet is standing there with Tommy Lightning.

WP:  Tommy, you asked for this time so the floor is yours.

TL:  Prophet, you and the fans know that ever since he showed up in Phoenix, Apollo Gyze did nothing but irritate the wrestlers, management and especially the fans.  He is a menace to the Phoenix roster so I’m going to issue a challenge.  Apollo, I challenge you to a Lights Out match at the PPV in 10 short days.  The kicker though is that the loser leaves Phoenix.

WP:  Wow, you heard it here first folks.  I’ll be down in Phoenix in 3 short days and will be sure to get Apollo’s response.  Back to you at the ring.

We head back to the ring for our first cross promotion match.  This one will be to see who gets the next title shot at the World Tag team titles.  First, the Regulators (Mule and Mammoth) come out first to a decent pop from the fans.  Next, the Axe and Superstar Chic Monroe come out and the fans pop louder.  It’s apparent that this duo is more liked.  This one was controlled mostly by Axe and Chic although the Regulators put up a solid fight.  Just when it looked like the Regulators were going to take control, there was a disturbance in the crowd.  Regulator Mammoth was trying to see what was going on.  Axe threw Mule out of the ring.  All of a sudden, the Banker sneaks in from the crowd (not where the disturbance was coming from) and blasts Mule with a chair.  He then sneaks away.  The ref, oblivious, begins to count and when he got to 10, it was apparent he was not getting back up.  Mule ends up getting counted out.  Axe and Chic are now next in line for a shot at the titles.  We’re sure the Regulators will have something to say about this. (16 ½ min)

The Wicked Prophet is really clamoring for air time.  This time he’s with Ruby Rose.

WP:  Hi Ruby, well, first, congratulations on getting the role as Batwoman on the TV show Arrow.

RR:  Um, that is a different Ruby Rose.  She’s an actress, I’m a wrestler.

WP:  OH MY BAD.  Sorry about that.

RR:  You know, once I signed with HCW and began a program with Vanilla Zombie, I thought that it would catapult us to bigger and better things but it seems like I’ve been languishing in jobber status.  Tonight, that changes.  Tonight, I show the world why I was signed on with HCW and can promise that there are great things on my horizon.

WP:  Preach the good word Ruby.  Back to you at ringside.

Up next is our second cross-promotion match.  First, from Phoenix, out comes Missy Chick.  She gets a smattering of a pop from the crowd.  Next, out comes Ruby Rose and the fans pop for her.  Ruby comes out and immediately makes a beeline for the ring.  Missy feels like she has something to prove too so she goes right on the offensive as soon as the bell rang.  Four minutes in, Missy goes for a one-handed bulldog but Ruby reverses it and nails an exploder suplex.  Missy hits a running clothesline and Ruby hits the Spit Mist of Transformation.  She goes for the cover but Missy kicks out at two.  Ruby stands up and yells “Enough shenanigans” and then hits the Red Wedding Facebuster.  Ruby goes for the pin and this time gets the 1-2-3.  Ruby gets the win and the fans pop huge as she makes her way to the back.

One last time, we go back to the interview area where the Wicked Prophet is standing by.

WP:  Ladies and gentleman, it’s my honor to introduce the World Champion the Ragin Cajun King Rad Gumbo.

(in walks Gumbo and Queen Alexandria)

RG:  Prophet, good to see you again.

WP:  Your lordship, tonight you defend the title against Muscles Weasley.

RG:  The last time we spoke, I had a non-title match against Jesse California.  Tonight I defend my title against one of the Muscles.  Is this honestly the best that HCW has for me?  Where is the talent?  Where are the former champions?  I defeated Buzz Steel 3 months ago to combine the World and Interim Championships and since then, the World title has lost all focus.  The top belt has languished behind meaningless feuds.  I’m not saying that the World Champ needs to be on every show but I’m also not a fan of the ‘Brock Lesnar’ frequency either.  All I have to say is that if HCW doesn’t find me some serious talent, there may have to be some changes in scenery.

WP:  King Rad, you will bring out the best in everyone and even if you dominate your opponent, you bring out the best.

RG:  Prophet, are you trying to butter me up?

WP:  No sir!  Just calling it like I see it.

RG:  In that case, I want to let HCW management know that I want my next opponent picked by YOU Wicked Prophet.

WP:  What an honor sir.

RG:  Tonight, Weasley, you get the shot of a lifetime.  You blow it and you’re out.  Best bring you’re a game. Prophet, keep preaching the good word.

WP:  Thank you your lordship.  Back to you in the ring.

It’s time for our main event.  First, Muscles Weasley comes out with his brothers Thorpe and McGuire.  They are wearing their rainbow colored bull horns and carrying about boxes of ‘Booty-O’s cereal”.  The trio gets a pop as they head down to the ring.  They begin acting all goofy in the ring entertaining the fans when the music abruptly changes and out comes the World Champion ‘the Ragin Cajun’ King Rag Gumbo and Queen Alexandria.   Gumbo had control from early on but things went more in his favor after Queen Alexandria distracted the ref from illegal conduct executed by Gumbo.  Gumbo never let Weasley go for a pin or submission although Rad himself tried multiple times with no avail.  After totally dominating Weasley, we join the match at the 16 minute mark.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2018 #716 – Phoenix Heat

Hello wrestling fans and welcome back to another installment of HCW’s Phoenix Heat.   We have a stacked card for you today with 2 title matches taking place.  First, ITF Champion Jacques Beannot defends his title against Otto Ruthless.  Next, we see the Six Man Tag Team Champions Texas Wildfire, ‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger and Sonic Blade defending their titles (once again) against the 5th Column. The Column have been whining and complaining about the cheating done by the champions and (somehow) made a case for a rematch.   I’m sure we’ll hear from the champs later on in the show.

We waste no time in kicking off our show. First, Tobias Snake comes out to a semi-pop from the crowd.  He makes his way into the ring but his music shuts off abruptly when, over the loudspeaker blares, “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE” and out comes the evil vampire bot Dr. Red Fang with his manager Ant Graham.   The duo are booed as they head to the ring.  Fang is snarling at the fans as he passes by.  Once in the ring, Fang immediately attacks Tobias.   Graham gets involved early by choking Tobias in the corner.  Tobias battles back hitting a snap DDT but Fang hits him with the Vampire Lunge.  Fang immediately locks in the Spider Web lock (and grabs the ropes for leverage) and Tobias has no choice but to tap out.  Dr. Red Fang gets the win in dominating fashion.   His manager joins him in the ring and (speaking for the evil vampire bot) says that Dr. Red Fang accepts the challenge from the Unknown Assassin and adds in “Don’t hide in the shadows or behind your coward of a manager.   The Dr. is here and is open for business…the business of delivering PAIN.  All of a sudden, the Unknown Assassin appears out of nowhere and begins to unload on Fang.  The fans boo.  JC Dykes also hits the ring and attacks Ant Graham.  All 4 men brawl in the ring until security came out to break it up.  Eventually everyone left.  (3 min for the match but 10 for the aftermath)

We cut back to GM Master Bull’s office.  Both Taylor Bella and the Duchess are in there complaining as to why they’re not getting air time.  Bull reminds the Duchess that her contract is winding down and she’s opted not to re-sign.  Bull then tells Taylor that he’s tried booking her but she’s been conveniently “unavailable”.  Bull thinks about it for a moment and says “Well, since the two of you are here tonight, you both can have a match…against each other…and that is coming up so you better get going.”  The ladies go to leave but try to go through the door at the same time and almost came to blows trying to determine who should go first.

The Wicked Prophet is backstage and he’s with ‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger.  The Prophet seems to think that the champs have been hiding not defending their titles.  Winger tells him that they are at the mercy of HCW to book them a match and they have one tonight.  The Wicked Prophet tells him that he’s also in singles action in an Elimination Chamber Qualifier.  Sonic Blade and Texas Wildfire walk over and say that it’s BS that Winger’s being forced to wrestle twice.  Winger says that he’s got this and that his team has his back so it is all good.  The trio leave.

We cut back to the ring for our next match.  First, Regulator Mule comes out first for singles action and he is accompanied by his tag team partner Regulator Mammoth.  Next, the Banker comes out accompanied by his manager Ruth Heartless and they are booed as they head to the ring.  Banker and Mule begin slugging it out almost immediately and surprisingly, the two were evenly matched (even accounting for interference from both Ruth and Mammoth).   The Banker was in control for the first 5 minutes and after that, the two went toe to toe.  As the match progressed, it was apparent that without interference, it seemed like this one was going to go the distance.  Mammoth did manage to negate interference from Ruth.  As we entered the 19th minute of the match, Mule rammed the Banker into the turnbuckle but the Banker came out and immediately locked in the ATM Fee armbar.  Ruth provided some extra leverage and that was all that was needed to get Mule to tap out.  The Banker gets the questionable win and rolls out of the ring before Mammoth could get at him.  The Banker and Ruth laugh all the way to the back.  Mammoth gets on the mic and challenges the Banker to a match at the PPV but he laughs it off and denies the request.  (19 min)

We head to the back again and the Wicked Prophet is with the 5th Column.  Baron von Blood states that the champs are cowards hiding behind time limits and only wrestling sub-par teams.  Karl Braun chimes in that with nowhere to run and nowhere to hide, the belts change hands tonight.  Oswald Zimmerman says that the most dominant team in HCW gets the recognition they so rightly deserve.

We are back at ringside for our Elimination Chamber qualifier.  First, the Ambassador comes out and introduces one half of Elitism Roderick Rothchild.  The fans boo them as they head to the ring.  The booing doesn’t last long as the music changes and out comes ‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger.  The fans pop huge for the man who is 1/3rd of the 6 Man Tag Team Champions.   Winger gets down to the ring, climbs the turnbuckle and psyches up the crowd.  Once done, he removes his jacket and the ref starts the match.  Winger was in control for the first 5 minutes of the match but the Ambassador got involved and things began going the ‘rowdy one’s’ way.   Winger got a near fall after hitting the Flyin’ & Stylin’ but the Ambassador put Roderick’s foot on the bottom rope to stop the count.  10 minutes in, Winger smashed Roderick’s head into the turnbuckle stunning him.  Winger then goes for a Wild Bill Punch but Roderick reverses it and (after slipping something on to his hand?) decks Winger with a Rowdy Roundhouse.  Rothchild rolls Winger up (and maybe had a handful of tights) and gets the 1-2-3.  Roderick gets the win which means Winger will be going to the Elimination Chamber.  Winger left the ring trying to clear the cobwebs.  Then ‘the Elitist’ Reid Rothchild came out and joined his brother in the ring.  Reid got on the mic and said that it’s time for there to be (more) gold in their future and it begins with the Tag Team Titles.  Reid says he’s officially issuing a challenge to the Mexicali Flyers for a shot at the tag team titles.  I guess we’ll wait to see what happens next.  (11 min for the match; 5 for the aftermath)

We head back to the interview area where the Wicked Prophet is with Otto Ruthless.  Otto says that he’s tired of being overlooked so it’s about damned time he gets a title shot.  He will prove that, as his name implies, he will show Jacques a level of Ruthless he’s never before witnessed.  Otto then walks away.

We head back to the ring for our next match.  First, Taylor Bella comes out and she’s booed.  She doesn’t care and gets into the ring.  Next, the Duchess comes out and she too is booed but she flips the fans off.  She even stopped to jawjack with one of them.  She enters the ring and immediately stands nose to nose with Taylor.  The ref sends them to their respective corners and then rings the bell.   Taylor immediately goes on the offensive and held it throughout the majority of the match.  About half way in, Scarlett Phoenix came out and went to sit at commentary.  The Duchess didn’t flinch.  Slowly, the Duchess started to take the match to Taylor even owning her opponent.  16 minutes, Taylor tried to take a short cut and rolled the Duchess up with a handful of tights.  The ref saw it and told Taylor he wasn’t going to count it.  Taylor started to yell at the ref.  The Duchess got to her feet and then locked Taylor up with the All Hail Her Majesty.  Taylor struggled to make it to the ropes but the Duchess managed to keep her trapped in the middle of the ring and Taylor had no choice but to tap out.  The Duchess gets the win and immediately releases Taylor so she could jawjack with Scarlett.  Scarlett just stood there and smiled which infuriated the Duchess but both women left without incident.  (18 min)

We head to the back again and this time, the Wicked Prophet is standing there with mic in hand.

WP:  The Wicked Prophet here calling it like I see it.  Tonight, my guest is the ITF Champion Jacques Beannot along with his manager ‘The Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher.  Welcome Jacques.

JB:  You can call me champ.  You just stand there and hold the mic for the greatest athlete to come out of the country of France.

WP:  Hey now, don’t be that way.  But since you’re already going down that path, let’s check out a video from your last match.

A video replays of Jacques last match where it was blatantly obvious that he cheated to win by grabbing the ropes for leverage.

WP:  You grabbed the ropes in what is apparently a cheap way to win.

MP:  Listen up you placeholder.  Jacques is the greatest athlete to come out of the great country of France.  He doesn’t need my help or anyones as he succeeds on his own.  I’m just along to give him suggestions and I actually have a suggestion for you, Prophet.  I suggest you keep your nose out of business that doesn’t pertain to you and stand there and do your job….

JB:  Whoa, whoa there Preacher.  Let me handle this.  Listen Prophet.  I am the champion holding the International Title of France belt and this means I’m the best.  Not only am I better than those so-called athletes here in the US but globally.

WP:  Well, actually, the WORLD Champion King Rad Gumbo would be the greatest champion in the WORLD.

JB:  You are one step away from getting your ass kicked.  First, I take care of Otto and if you say one more derogatory thing about me, you’ll be next.

Jacques and his manager leave.

WP:  What a Jacque-Ass

We head to the ring for our first title match.  Otto Ruthless comes out and the fans boo him as he makes his way down to the ring.  He gets in the ring and flips the fans off.  The music changes and out comes ‘The Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher and the ITF champion Jacques Beannot.  The fans really boo him and he seems to relish in it.  He makes his way to the ring and holds the title high as he climbs each of the corner turnbuckles.  The match begins and almost immediately, Otto took control of the match and really took the match to the champ.  Even with outside interference from Preacher, Otto still retained control until approximately 15 minutes in.  Otto just neutralized a double underhook and Jacques stunned him with a jaw jacker.  Jacques then locked in the French Cloverleaf and once again he grabbed the ropes for leverage.  He cinched it in and Otto had no choice but to tap out. Jacques gets the win and Matt Preacher joins him in the ring and hands him his title.  He holds it high one last time and the two of them leave.  (17 min)

We cut back to the GM office where Master Bull announces 2 more Elimination chamber qualifiers and the Ladies title match to take place at the next Phoenix show.   He is interrupted when Apollo Gyze walks in complaining about not being on the show.  Bull is pissed he was interrupted and tells Apollo to apologize.  He doesn’t.  Apollo then leaves.

It’s time for our main event.  First, the 5th Column (Baron von Blood, Oswald Zimmerman and Karl Braun) make their way to the ring.  The fans boo them and they exchange “pleasantries” with the fans.  Once in the ring, the music changes and out comes the 6 Man Tag Team Champions – Texas Wildfire, Sonic Blade and ‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger.  Winger looked a little worse for wear but the team is united as one.  They get in the ring, each climb the turnbuckles and hold the titles up to pops from the crowd.  They hand over the belts and TW starts off against Baron von Blood.

===== In the 1st minute of the match: =====

Texas Wildfire rolled OC.

Baron Von Blood (Reinhardt Schmitt) rolled OC.

Texas Wildfire executes a SUPERPLEX....

Baron Von Blood (Reinhardt Schmitt) executes a GERMAN LARIOT....

Top Gun Justin Winger calls for the tag so Texas Wildfire tags him in.

===== In the 2nd minute of the match: =====

‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger rolled OC.

Baron Von Blood (Reinhardt Schmitt) rolled OC.

‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger executes a SNAP POWERSLAM....

Baron Von Blood (Reinhardt Schmitt) executes a GAS CHAMBER (MODIFIED SLEEPER)....

Baron Von Blood (Reinhardt Schmitt) straps in the GAS CHAMBER (MODIFIED SLEEPER).

‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger submits!!!

HOLY CRAP!  Just like that, the champs lost the belts and now the 5th Column are the NEW 6 Man Tag Team Champions!  The fans, mostly speechless and dumbfounded, could not believe what just happened.  The Column stand tall holding their titles high as the show comes to an end.

Stay Tuned for more as there is sure to be fallout from this.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2018 #715 – Tacoma Thunder

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  You may have noticed that we did not have any shows posted last week.  Due to scheduling conflicts in both Tacoma and Phoenix, we attempted to reschedule the shows but nothing was available outside of a bingo hall and we weren’t going to do a disservice to our fans so we just opted to cancel those shows and just start back up tonight.

Tonight’s show kicks off backstage where Davis Hoffmeister storms into GM Max McGillicutty’s office.  Davis demands a match at the PPV against Ivan.  Max tells him he is not cleared to return to action as of yet.  Davis strenuously demands the match and says he’ll even play by Ivan’s rules and it can be a “Russian Chain Match”.  Max once again says that medical has not and probably will not clear him before the show.  “What do I have to do?” Davis asks.  Max thinks about it.  “Well, I know this match will be a great one but if you’re not willing to wait, we can do this as an unsanctioned match.  Basically, HCW will not cover you or Ivan if additional injuries occur.  You’ll be on your own.”  A smile crosses Davis’ face.  “Where do I sign?”  The camera fades to black.

Pyro goes off and we ready to start the show.  First, we’re in for a tag team treat.  Hardcore Champion Hardcore Hensen and TV Champion Nix Anderson come out first with their manager ‘the Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher.  The fans boo the crap out of them.  Nix and Hensen take turns flipping off the fans but Preacher heads back behind the curtain.  Next, the fans pop pretty loud when TNT and Scooter J come out.  SJ is taken aback by the welcome he’s getting from the fans.  The begin to make their way down to the ring high-fiving the fans until Preacher comes back out armed with a steel chair and immediately goes after TNT and Scooter J.  He only gets a couple of shots while Hensen and Anderson return and after a quick beat down, they roll TNT and SJ into the ring.  The attack is short lived when a gaggle of refs rush out to prevent further damage.  Preacher and his team laugh and begin to walk off but that brings out GM Max McGillicutty.  Max tells Preacher and his goons that he thinks this was planned from the start and should consider suspending all three of them and strip Hensen and Anderson of their titles.  Scooter J gets on the mic and tells Max he has a great idea for tonight.  SJ says that Max should put Anderson on the card tonight to defend his TV title against TNT.  The fans pop.  Max says the match is on.  SJ also says that they officially want Anderson and Hensen at the PPV.  Preacher immediately agrees on behalf of his team.  SJ then says that since the PPV is all specialty, it will be in a steel cage.  Preacher, Hensen and Anderson begin to flip out.  Max says the match is official and there is nothing that Preacher or his goons can do to get out of it.  Max adds that if Preacher interferes in the PPV match, both Anderson and Hensen will be stripped of their titles.  Preacher and his team make their way to the back.  TNT and SJ leave shortly thereafter.

The Wicked Prophet is backstage and he is with the ITF champion Jacques Beannot.

WP:  Jacques, tonight, you are in a match with Texas Wildfire but your title isn’t on the line.  What is will be a qualifying match to see who will be going to the chamber.

JB:  I don’t know who came up with that abomination of a structure but someone with my good looks and stature should not be in a hellacious construction such as that.  Tonight, I will get the win not just because I’m the champion representing France but because I’m better than Wildfire.  Tonight, that wildfire will be a pile of ash.  (Jacques then turns and leaves)

WP:  Well, that was the ITF champion for you.  Next, I’d like to bring out his opponent for this evening.  Texas Wildfire, welcome.

TW:  Hello to you Mr. Prophet.  Jacques was out here talking up a big game and he does have a lot of talent but tonight, I make a name for myself by defeating him, staying out of the Elimination Chamber and then climb back up the rankings to earn a shot at that very belt he holds.

WP:  Just playing devil’s advocate here but what happens if you lose tonight and have to go to the chamber.  Your career will be on the line.

TW:  I’ve never been one to overstay my welcome but I’m not done in HCW by a long shot.  If I happen to leave tonight with a destiny to be in that chamber then so be it but understand, I’ll be representing Tacoma 100% and we will make sure that Tacoma earns the victory.

WP:  Thank you Texas Wildfire for you time.  Back to you in the ring.

It’s time for our Elimination Chamber Qualifier.  First, ITF champion Jacques Beannot comes out with his manager ‘the Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher.  The duo are booed pretty heavily as they head down to the ring.  Next, the music changes and out comes Texas Wildfire.  The fans pop pretty loud for him and he makes his way down to the ring and he is all business.  Right when the bell rang, Preacher was a little slow in leaving the ring and when Texas Wildfire went over to help usher him out, Preacher slapped TW across the face.  Wildfire’s eyes went all wide but before he could retaliate, Jacques clipped TW at the knee.  Wildfire went down.  Jacques then locked in the French Cloverleaf and then he grabbed the ropes for extra leverage with Preacher assisting from the outside.  The ref was too busy checking on TW to see the blatant cheating.  Wildfire had too much pressure put on the leg that he had no choice but to tap out.   Jacques lets go and the fans boo as the ref and Matt Preacher raise the champs’ arms in victory.  Jacques gets the submission win and Texas Wildfire goes on to the Elimination Chamber.  (2 min)

We cut backstage and the Wicked Prophet is talking this time to Violet Valkyrie.  He asks Violet what she thinks she may pick as the stipulation for her match against Vanilla Zombie.  “There are so many choices.  I would do a steel cage but that is already taken.  First Blood…nah.  I don’t want her to bleed and have it end our match.  I want to inflict pain.  I Quit is a nice option but then again, so is a scaffold.  Can you imagine poor little Zombie dangling 20 feet over the ring?  That would be a nasty fall.  You know, I’m not sure it matters as I just want her in the ring.  I’m sure something will work itself out.”  The Wicked Prophet says “Thanks Violet for that insight and now back to the ring for more action.”

Our next match is ready to go.  First, ‘Big Money’ Ned Rhyerson III comes out and the fans boo him.   As soon as he hits the ring, the music changes and out comes Adam Jameson.  The fans give him a pop and he heads down to the ring.   Rhyerson tried to attack AJ but he quickly turned the tables on Ned and took the match to him.  Ned struggled but AJ owned him.  5 minutes into the match, Adam connects with the Adam Bomb and he makes the cover getting the 3 count.  Adam Jameson gets the win and begins to celebrate but then Ned attacks him from behind.  Ned slaps on the Billion Dollar Dream trying to put AJ out but the fans pop when Drew the Canadian Love Machine rushes out and gets Ned off of AJ.  Drew goes to check on Adam but he too is attacked by Ned.  Drew manages to fight him off and hurls him out of the ring.  This brings out GM Max McGillicutty once again and Max tells us that we have our next Elimination qualifier in a week and it will be Ned Rhyerson vs Drew the Canadian Love Machine.  The fans pop.  Ned grumbles under his breath and leaves.  Drew leaves shortly thereafter.  (5 min for the match; 5 min for the aftermath)

Backstage, TV Champion Nix Anderson is grumbling about having to defend his TV title tonight.  He’s pacing the room and his manager Matt Preacher tells him to just sit.  Matt reminds Nix that he’s defeated TNT once before and tonight will be no different.  Nix nods and settles down.  He and Preacher then begin to discuss strategy as the camera fades out.

We head back to the ring for our next match.  The winner of this match gets the ability to pick the stipulation for their upcoming PPV match.  First, Vanilla Zombie comes out with her manager ‘the Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher.  They are booed as they head down to the ring.  The fans change their tunes when fog fills the stage and they pop huge when Violet Valkyrie comes out.   She psyches up the crowd and then rushes down to the ring sliding under the bottom rope.  Vanilla Zombie and Matt Preacher bail out of the ring.  Violet continues to get the crowd pumped up and finally Vanilla re-enters the ring.  Vanilla attacks her and beats Violet down but slowly but surely Violet begins to battle back.  Preacher began to panic and provided a distraction but it backfired on him with Violet punching him and he fell back on his derriere.  She slides back in the ring only to get caught by a chokeslam.  Vanilla goes for the pin with a handful of tights and her feet on the ropes and she gets the 1-2-3.  She then locks Violet in a camel clutch and as Violet struggled against it, a scream sounded through the loudspeakers “I Quit….I Quit”.  Vanilla lets her go.  Matt Preacher gets back in the ring.  Preacher gets on the mic and says that Violet is a quitter and to prove once and for all that she is that, the stipulation of Vanilla’s match against Violet will be an I Quit match and that once Violet taps out again, it will be the end of her and she can leave in disgrace.  Vanilla and Preacher laugh and leave.  Violet recovers and leaves too.  (11 min)

We go to the back once again and reporter the Wicked Prophet is with TNT this time.  The Prophet tells TNT he calls it as he sees it and says that TNT is no match for Nix Anderson.  TNT tells him he’s deluded and tonight, not only will he embarrass Nix, he will take the TV title too.  Wicked Prophet says that will be a cold day in hell but TNT says that they are already there so it will happen.  TNT walks off and WP just shakes his head.

The action resumes as our next match begins.  First, Superstar Chic Monroe comes out to a pop from the crowd.  Next, Perfect Pecs Stoddard comes out and after flexing his pecs and getting booed for it, he grumpily makes his way down to the ring.  He immediately attacks Chic and for 7 minutes he dominates but then Chic turns the tables on him and takes the match to Pecs.  The two continue to battle but kick it into a higher gear once they see they are closing in on the time limit.  As we entered the final moments of the match, Pecs choked Chic in the corner but gets dropped by a bicycle kick.  Chic then hits a giant swing and goes for the pin but the ref only gets to a two count before the bell rings bringing this one to a draw finish.  Chic seemed a little disappointed (Pecs was relieved) but the fans popped for him as he left the ring.  (20 min draw)

The Huber Clan are backstage and Butch says he’s representing the clan and wants to know who, between Junior and Ferb, who will be joining him.  Junior and Ferb do Rock, Paper, Scissors (Lizard, Spock) and Junior wins (with Spock).  Junior says that the Mountain Man cometh and the clan brings home the gold tonight.  Butch stares at him shaking his head.

Our first title match of the evening is ready to take place.  First, TNT comes out to a good sized pop from the crowd.  He gets into the ring and then motions for his opponent to come out.  Next, TV champion Nix Anderson comes out with his manager ‘The Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher and they are booed all the way down to the ring.  Nix immediately gets in the ring and stands toe to toe with TNT before throwing the first punch.  The match was extremely close at times with both men getting near fall pin attempts but somehow the other managed to kick out in the nick of time.  This went on for the entire match and before we knew it, we were approaching the time limit.  19 minutes in, Nix hits the Nixinator but TNT viciously eye rakes him to prevent a pin attempt.  TNT lifts Nix up for a standing suplex but then Preacher jumps up on the apron and throws powder into TNT’s face.  Nix falls on top of TNT and hooks the leg.  The ref counts 1…2…3 just before the time limit expired.  Nix Anderson gets the win and retains his title.  Just then, Hardcore Hensen comes running down and gets into the ring and begins beating TNT down but Scooter J comes out with a chair and chases the two of them off. He helps TNT to his feet and the two of them glare at Nix and Hensen who are walking up the ramp laughing.  (20 min)

We head to the back once again for an interview with the World Tag Team champions the Mexicali Flyers.  The Wicked Prophet is front and center and asks the hard question:  “How do you think you’ll fare against a team as tough as the Huber Clan?  I mean, they have, what, a combined 200 lbs on you?  How do you expect to overcome that?”  El Dragon Insano and Tornado en Fuego start gibbering among themselves and then El Dragon speaks up.  “You know Meester Prophet, we are the champions of the world.  We hold the most prestigious 2 person title in all the world.  We fought hard to get here.  We are not giving up.”  Tornado en Fuego then chimed in.  “Meester Wicked, not sure why you feel you must insult us.  We are the best team and you make it sound like we don’t have a chance.  Once we are done, you will change your tune.  Ariba!”  The Flyers leave and head to the ring.  The Wicked Prophet looks at the camera and says “Those guys are gonna get squashed” and he just shakes his head.

It’s time for our Main Event.  First, the Huber Clan (Butch, Ferb and Junior Huber) all come out but Ferb remains on the stage as his brothers head to the ring.  He then leaves.  Next, the music changes and the fans pop HUGE as the World Tag Team Champions the Mexicali Flyers come out. They are zipping all over the place high-fiving the fans.  Both men slide under the ring and each climbs a turnbuckle holding their titles high.  Both do back flips into the ring landing on their feet.  The Hubers, unimpressed, hit each of them with a running clothesline.  The Flyers roll out of the ring.  They take a moment to recover and end up back in the ring so the match can begin.   They Flyers hadn’t totally recovered so the Huber’s took advantage for the first 7 minutes of the match.  After a 3 minute double team on Butch, he makes the hot tag to Junior but the Flyers double team him also for 3 minutes.  The fans were solidly behind the champions and popped huge for every high spot.  21 minutes into the match, Junior pulled Tornado en Fuego out of the ring and hit a huge chokeslam putting him through the Spanish Announce table.  While the ref went out to check on Tornado, Ferb Huber ran down and attacked El Dragon.  Insano fought him off and for about 30 seconds, held his own against the clan stunning them with lefts and rights until the numbers became overwhelming.  Ferb left the ring after hitting a DDT.   Junior comes in and hits the Mountain Man Cutter but Insano drops him with a DDT.  Junior rolls to his corner and tags in Butch.  Butch threw El Dragon out of the ring and then launched with a suicide dive to the floor.  He grabbed El Dragon and rolled him back in.  Butch throws El Dragon to the ropes and hits a big boot to the face.  Butch goes for a European uppercut but El Dragon reverses it and throws Butch out of the ring.  Butch made it to his feet and heard a noise.  He turned only to see Tornado en Fuego charging at him and hits a spear right up against the steel steps.   WAM!  Tornado climbs back up to his corner and tells the ref to count.  The ref ends up counting to 10 and awards the match to the Flyers via countout decision.  Ferb runs back down and he and Junior help Butch to his feet and help him to the back.  The Flyers remained and celebrated with the fans as the show comes to an end but then Elitism (‘The Elitist’ Reid Rothchild and his brother Roderick Rothchild came out and stared at the champs.  The show ended with no altercation.

Thanks for reading.  Phoenix Heat will be here in a few days’ time.  Stay tuned.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2018 #714 – Phoenix Heat

Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of HCW’s Phoenix Heat.  We have some great action on the card for you today.  Also, our roving reporter the Wicked Prophet sits down for a 1:1 with the most annoying man in HCW:  Apollo Gyze.

The show kicks off with pyro and things are ready to go.  GM Master Bull comes out first to a pop form the crowd.  Bull says that Scooter J returns to the ring tonight (for one night only as he was traded to Tacoma) after being beat down by Hardcore Hensen and Nix Anderson at the last PPV.  We also have our first Ladies Elimination Chamber qualifying match with Kimberly Kiccsass taking on Madame Jade.  Bull says that he is confident we will also see at least one match signed for the PPV House of Horrors that will be taking place right here in Phoenix on Halloween.  Bull also says that he has gotten permission to use AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” as the show’s lead anthem.  The fans pop huge.  Bull, before leaving, lets us know that next weeks’ shows will be delayed by a few days due to events in both Tacoma and Phoenix occupying the normal broadcast days.  Shows will revert back to their normal time slots on the 14th.

Pyro goes off again and our show is ready to go.   The fans begin to boo when Terra Ryzing makes his way out to the ring first.  He flips them off and threatens to hit a few.  He begins yelling obscenities at the fans but the change in the music leads to a pop as Leiton Snake makes his way out.  He rushes down to the ring and slides under the bottom rope.  He climbs one corner and gets the crowd psyched.  Terra attacks him starting this one off and surprisingly for 8 minutes, Terra went toe to toe with Leiton but it all changed after the Snake connected with a diving somersault neckbreaker.  The fans were astonished and popped accordingly.  Leiton then owned the remainder of the match bringing to a merciful end 4 minutes later after connecting with the Curb Stomp.  Leiton gets the pin but his celebration is cut short when Niven Snake rushes out there and hits Leiton in the head with a steel chair busting him open.  The refs and other backstage assistants rushed out there to prevent further damage.  Master Bull came out and said that he had it with the two of them and that at the PPV, Leiton and Niven will meet in the ring for a “First Blood” match.  The person so bleeds the first is going to be out of HCW.  Niven throws the chair down and smirks and leaves.  Leiton makes it to his feet and he’s wearing a crimson mask.  Hopefully his head will be healed before the PPV.  (12 min for the match; 5 for the aftermath)

Backstage, a random drawing is done to determine who will fight for the Ladies title tonight and the Duchess’ name is drawn.  The Duchess gives Raquel a look and she motions she’s taking the title tonight.

We head back to the ring for our next match.  Music hits and out comes Scooter J.  The fans give him a pop as he heads to the ring but he never makes it as Hardcore Hensen and Nix Anderson rush out to attack him.  The beatdown doesn’t last long as TNT makes his way out with a steel chair and chases the dastardly duo off.  Scooter J gets on the mic and issues a challenge to Nix and Hensen for a match at the PPV.  They accept almost immediately.  I guess we have our next match set.  Since this match isn’t happening, we will get another match to fill the card in its place.

The Wicked Prophet is backstage and he says that tonight, he is sitting down with the one and only Apollo Gyze to talk his suspension and more.  That will take place in the second half of the show.

It looks like we got our replacement match.  First, ‘the Elitist’ Reid Rothchild makes his way out with his manager the Ambassador and the two head down to the ring.  Next, Sonic Blade makes his way out and the fans pop for him.  Sonic knows better than to turn his back on Reid so once in the ring, he never takes his eyes off his opponent.  Reid, with the Ambassador’s help, controlled the first few minutes of the match but after Sonic took the Ambassador out of commission, Reid floundered.  Sonic took advantage of that and owned the match.  Reid began a bit of a comeback after hitting the Michaels Superkick and then went to the top rope.  He launched going for something (not sure what) but Sonic rolled out of the way and Reid landed flat on his back.  Sonic picked him up and hit an Atomic Drop.  He immediately went for the pin cradling the leg and got the 1-2-3.  Sonic Blade gets the win.  He celebrates briefly in the ring before leaving.  Reid and the Ambassador regrouped and headed to the back.  (10 min)

Backstage, the Wicked Prophet runs into J C Dykes and the Unknown Assassin.  Prophet asks UA what it’s like getting beat down by a vampire bot.  UA grabs Prophet by his jacket but Dykes gets him to release.  Dykes warns Prophet to stick to keeping his nose out of their business.  Dykes then tells Dr. Red Fang that the Unknown Assassin is challenging him to a Dog Collar match at the PPV.  Dykes says that UA will send Fang back to the pound.  They walk off.  Prophet straightens his jacket, lets out a harrumph and continues walking.

We head back to the ring for our next match.  First, ‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger comes out and the fans pop for him.  Justin is carrying his belt representing 1/3 of the 6 Man Tag Team champs.  He gets into the ring, climbs the turnbuckle and elicits a pop from the crowd.  Next, the lights go dim and there is an eerie blue light filling the room.  Wilber Townsend begins to make his way out and he’s carrying a lantern.  He slowly makes his way down to the ring and then climbs in.  As he does, the lights slowly come back up.  Wilber is one for mind games but we’ll see if he gets under Winger’s skin.  Winger goes for a flying dropkick but Wilber reverses it and hits a shortarm clothesline.  Wilber follows it up with mounted elbow smashes but Winger fights back with a flying headscissors.  Winger hits a steamroller and Wilber goes down.  The fans pop.  Winger goes for a knee smash but Wilber nullifies it.  Wilber locks in a rear chin lock and Winger hits a knee to the back.  Winger then jumps to the corner and lauches hitting a flying dropkick.  This time he hooks the leg and gets the 1-2-3.  Top Gun gets the win.  The fans pop as Justin gets his arm raised and then he leaves to avoid Wilber trying to attack him.  Wilber eventually leaves.  (6 min)

Backstage, the Steel Curtain say that they are going back into 6 man tag team action but they are no allowed to team up with Biceps Bannerman anymore due to a stipulation from earlier in the year.  Buzz introduces their teammate for this match – Tommy Lightning.  Tommy tells the Steel Curtain that as long as Apollo keeps his beak out of the match, it should be fine.  Starbuck leans over and says “Word”.

We head back to the ring for the next match.  First, the Huber Clan (Butch, Junior and Ferb Huber) make their way out to the ring.  The fans mostly boo them.   Next, the Steel Curtain and Tommy Lightning come out to a huge pop from the crowd.  The match begins almost immediately and the Hubers actually held their own for the entire match.  Fortunately, there was no interference from Apollo and true to his word, Tommy and the Curtain stayed mostly in control.  At the 11 minute mark, Tommy gets tagged in and he locks Ferb up with an abdominal stretch.  He doesn’t go for the submission but immediately turns it into a pin and gets the shocking win.  Tommy Lightning and the Steel Curtain get the win much to the delight of the fans.  The fan favorites leave the ring and are eventually followed out by the losing team.  (11 min)

Backstage, Madame Jade says that the Elimination Chamber is a hellacious structure and has no plans on joining.  She will be sure that it is Kimberly who will be representing.

Also backstage, the Duchess says that even though in 4 weeks she’ll be moving on to greener pastures, she says she’ll be doing it as the HCW Ladies Champion.  Raquel has had her time in the limelight and now, once again, it’s her turn.

Lastly, we meet up with the Ladies Champion Ravishing Raquel.  Raquel says that some wrestlers shine and then are forgotten and there are those who make such an impact that they become immortal.  Raquel says that she has been a pioneer in the woman’s division since she debuted.  Tonight, her reign continues as the Duchess watches and reminisces.

We head to the ring for our Elimination Chamber qualifier:  Madame Jade vs Kimberly Kiccsass.  Kimberly comes out first and gets more boos than cheers.  Next, Madame Jade comes out and the fans pop for her.  Just as she was psyching up the crowd, Kimberly attacked her and really took control.  She would stop every couple of minutes to yell at Jade “Do you want it or not?” but Kimberly was just at the top of her game tonight.  Jade managed to hit the Jade Breaker but Kimberly made it to the ropes.  Kimberly battled back and managed to connect with a top rope legdrop.  She then locked in a back mounted rear chin lock and rolled it into a pin securing the 1-2-3.  Kimberly wins the match but that means that Madame Jade is going to the Chamber.  She looked really concerned as she headed to the back. (15 min)

We head to the back where the Wicked Prophet is sitting.  We cut over to him.

WP:  Ladies and gentlemen, the Wicked Prophet here preaching the word that is the truth.  Tonight, I get one on one with the one and only Apollo Gyze.”

Apollo comes in and sits down.

WP:  Welcome Apollo.

AG:  Glad to be here.

WP:  I have a reputation of getting right to the heart of the matter so I’ll ask what I’m sure is on everyone’s minds…what the hell was up with the suspension?

AG:  You know, Master Bull is on a power trip.  I’ve said it before, I’m the hottest property in HCW and after sticking me in a match with some chump nugget, he has the gall to suspend me…for what…speaking my mind?  You know, if Bull had the guts to step in the ring with me, I’d kick his ass but he won’t.  He’ll hide behind the desk and that’s fine.  He can stay there.  Who I really want to talk about is the chump nugget Tommy Lightning.

WP:  I hoped you would.  Now, this is the meat and potatoes.  What is up with that guy?

AG:  This nugget thinks he can hold a candle to me but he is weak and cowardly.  Instead of wrestling for titles, I’m relegated to this chump.  And you know what..

WP:  Say it

AG:  Apollo Gyze don’t apologize.

WP:  Apollo, you are right in your thoughts and you should continue to do what you do best.

AG:  Thanks Prophet.  Keep on preaching the good word.

WP:  Thank you Apollo.  And thank you HCW for tuning in.  Back to action in the ring.

It’s time for our main event.  First, the Duchess makes her way out first and she is booed with a smattering of cheers.  Once in the ring, the music changes and out comes the Ladies Champion Ravishing Raquel with her manager the Ambassador.  She too mostly receives boos but there is a small group that cheers her on.  She gets into the ring and holds her title high and proud.  She then walks over and holds it in the Duchess’ face.  The Duchess makes a grab for it but Raquel yanks it away.   She walks over to the ropes and once again holds the title up before handing it over to the ref.  For the first 7 minutes of the match, the Duchess took the fight to the champ but after the Ambassador got involved tripping the Duchess at the ropes, Raquel went for a pin putting her feet on the ropes but the ref caught her and stopped the count.   Raquel hits the Simply Ravishing and then tries to follow it up with a hammer smash to the back but the Duchess reverses it and hits a foot stomp.  She then locks in the All Hail her Majesty but Raquel makes it to the ropes to break the hold.  Raquel hits a Lou Thesz press and goes for a pin but only gets a two count.  The Duchess hits another foot stomp and a hair pull and toss.   Raquel locks in the Ravishing Armbar but the Duchess executes a roll up and grabs a handful of tights trying for a pin but the ref refuses to count.   Raquel locks in another armbar but the Duchess eye rakes her to break the hold.   Just then, Scarlett Phoenix comes out to a pop from the crowd and the Duchess stops to yell at her from the ring.  She doesn’t see Raquel sneak up from behind and grab her leg dropping her to the mat.  She locked in an ankle lock but then in a twist, turned it into a pin.  She had just enough leverage to get the 3 count.  Ravishing Raquel gets the win and is successful in her title defense.  The champ grabs her belt and leaves.  The show comes to an end with the Duchess and Scarlett Phoenix staring at each other to end the show.

Thanks for reading.  As a reminder, next week’s issues will be delayed a few days but will be back on schedule the week after.

Stay Tuned.
