HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2025 #1078 – 3/9

Hello wrestling fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.  The show begins with pyro going off and the spotlights zipping around the arena.  We see that the mystery fan of Black Mass is sitting at ringside and she had a new sign:

We have a solid show lined up for you. If that fan is here, that means Black Mass will be in action (not sure how she knows but she does).  Cara Loco will be on the card tonight.  The Dark Dominion will be out in force with Jack ‘Timberfang’ Lumber in singles action; the Yeti defends the Hardcore Title tonight and in our main event, Femme Nocturnal (Selena Blackfang, Korbi Kong and Talia Nocturne) will take on the Cummings Twins Betsy and Felicia and the World Ladies Champion Luciana Albano.  There was talk about the Heritage Women’s Champion Ashley Summers partaking in the main event but after the last team up of Ashley and Luciana, all did not go well so we pivoted in a new direction.

Pyro goes off again and then the loudspeakers blare out “APOLLO GYZE DON’T APOLOGIZE” and out comes one of the most despised men in HCW.  Apollo comes out and revels in the fans disdain for him.  He flips off a few on his way to the ring and then climbs in.  He gets on the mic and says he can’t understand why the fans back someone aloof like Black Mass but says tonight, he puts an end to that mystery and sends him back to wherever he came from.

The music changed and the lights dimmed as Black Mass makes his way out.  His reception from the fans has been getting more positive over the last few shows.  He walks by the mystery lady without giving her a second glance.  He climbs into the ring and almost immediately, this one begins.

Match #1:  Black Mass vs Apollo Gyze

Black Mass and Apollo Gyze clashed in a brutal back-and-forth encounter that saw both competitors unleash their most devastating maneuvers. From the start, Black Mass took control, punishing Gyze with a Mass Destruction, but Gyze refused to stay down, absorbing the punishment and fighting back with a Jumping Clothesline.

Mike "The Voice" Johnson: "Black Mass is throwing everything at Apollo Gyze, but the man just keeps getting back up!"

Johnny "The Hammer" Harris: "Because Apollo Gyze doesn’t apologize! He’s got too much fight in him, but can he survive the Bloody Massacre?"

As the match progressed, Gyze showed resilience, countering with a Spin-Out Powerbomb and even a breathtaking Gorilla Press Drop Moonsault, nearly putting Black Mass away. But the dark warrior refused to be defeated, surviving multiple pin attempts.

Mike "The Voice" Johnson: "What a war! These two are throwing bombs at each other!"
Johnny: "And let’s talk about that Moonsault—Gyze hit it perfectly, but Black Mass is just too tough!"

In the closing moments, Black Mass unleashed a relentless assault, landing a Bloody Massacre again and again, wearing Gyze down. Despite Apollo’s best efforts, he couldn’t withstand the onslaught. After one final Bloody Massacre, Black Mass secured the pinfall victory.

Johnny "The Hammer" Harris: "It’s over! Black Mass has put Apollo Gyze away with authority!"

Mike "The Voice" Johnson: "Gyze fought like a warrior, but Black Mass was simply too much tonight!"

Winner: Black Mass via Pinfall (Bloody Massacre)

The crowd is electric as Black Mass stands tall over Apollo Gyze, who lies motionless in the ring after a brutal battle. Gyze rolls out, clutching his ribs, as Black Mass dusts his hands off and starts making his exit. The fans give him a mixed reaction—cheers growing louder with every passing moment, signaling his slow transition to the light.

But just as he reaches the ropes, something catches his eye.

A woman in the front row is perched atop the barricade, holding up a massive sign that reads:

Mike 'The Voice' Johnson: "Whoa! Now that’s a statement! This lady has got it bad for Black Mass!"

Johnny 'The Hammer' Harris: "Can you blame her, Mike? The guy’s a monster in the ring, a total badass.

But I don’t think romance is high on his priority list."

The camera zooms in on Black Mass as he slowly turns his head toward her. The fans buzz with anticipation. He looks her up and down, his expression unreadable. The tension lingers as he tilts his head slightly… and then, without a word, turns away and starts to walk off. A collective groan ripples through the arena—was that it? No reaction?

Mike 'The Voice' Johnson: "Oh, come on! Not even a nod? Give the lady something, Black Mass!"

Johnny 'The Hammer' Harris: "The man’s got ice in his veins, Mike! But listen to this crowd—they wanted a moment!"

But just as disappointment sets in…

Enter Doofus Covfefe:  "HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!"

The arena erupts in boos as the ever-despised Doofus Covfefe struts down the ramp, dressed in his usual gaudy attire, exuding unwarranted confidence. He spots the woman and sneers, marching straight up to her.

Doofus Covfefe: "Lady, lady, lady... what are you doing?" he scoffs. "You’re aiming WAY too low! You don’t want that masked freak. You should be after a KING! A SHOWSTOPPER! A VISIONARY! ME!"

Mike 'The Voice' Johnson: "Oh no, not this idiot…"

Johnny 'The Hammer' Harris: "He’s got the brainpower of a wet sponge, Mike, and about half the charm!"

The boos get louder as Doofus rips the sign out of her hands and dramatically tears it to shreds before tossing the pieces back at her. The woman looks stunned as Doofus keeps running his mouth.

Doofus Covfefe: "Matter of fact, if you don’t come to your senses RIGHT NOW and admit that I’m the real prize, I might just have to FIRE YOU from even being a fan!"

Mike 'The Voice' Johnson: "Oh, for crying out loud! Someone get this clown out of here!"

Johnny 'The Hammer' Harris: "Mike, Doofus Covfefe just tore up that poor woman’s sign and now he’s out here threatening to ‘fire’ a fan? This guy’s delusional!"

What Doofus doesn’t realize… is that Black Mass has stopped walking.

Black Mass Delivers Judgment

Slowly, methodically, Black Mass turns back toward the scene. The crowd picks up on it and starts roaring. Doofus, oblivious, is still berating the woman.

Doofus Covfefe: "Well?! What’s your answer, sweetheart?!"

The woman doesn’t answer—but Black Mass does.

BOOM! Black Mass snatches Doofus by the throat with one massive hand. The crowd explodes as Doofus’ eyes bulge in terror, realizing what’s about to happen. He flails, shakes his head, begs for mercy—

SLAM!

A thunderous chokeslam onto the steel ring steps echoes throughout the arena. Doofus crumples in a heap, completely laid out. The fans lose their minds.

Mike 'The Voice' Johnson: "YES! YES! GOOD NIGHT, DOOFUS!"

Johnny 'The Hammer' Harris: "That’s what happens when you run your mouth to the wrong man, Mike! Black Mass just sent Doofus straight to the shadow realm!"

Black Mass then turns back to the woman. The moment hangs in the air as he steps toward her. Then, in an unexpected act of chivalry, he holds out his hand. She hesitates… then takes it. He effortlessly lifts her over the barricade, then scoops her into his arms and carries her backstage, the crowd cheering wildly as the camera follows them up the ramp.

Mike 'The Voice' Johnson: "Would you look at this? This might be the moment that officially turns Black Mass into a hero in the eyes of the fans!"

Johnny 'The Hammer' Harris: "You know, Mike… I think we just saw Black Mass find something—or someone—worth fighting for!"

Meanwhile, back at the ring, Doofus is groaning and trying to crawl to his feet.  He manages to roll into the ring.

Cue the music—CARA LOCO! The unhinged, high-energy superstar comes sprinting down the ramp, yelling something unintelligible as he slides into the ring. He turns to the referee and shouts, "RING THE BELL!  IT'S MY MATCH!"

Match #2:  Cara Loco vs Doofus Covfefe

The ref shrugs and signals for the bell. Doofus, still disoriented, stumbles falling to his knees—

BAM! CURB STOMP!

The crowd erupts as Cara Loco immediately covers!

ONE! TWO! THREE!

DING DING DING!

Cara Loco celebrates wildly as Doofus lays motionless, the fans laughing and cheering at his humiliating defeat.

Mike 'The Voice' Johnson: "From bad to worse for Doofus Covfefe! First, he gets flattened by Black Mass, now Cara Loco just wiped him out in record time!"

Johnny 'The Hammer' Harris: "You LOVE to see it, Mike! Covfefe just made history—fastest crash and burn in HCW history!"

The night ends with the fans chanting Black Mass’ name, knowing they just witnessed a moment that may have changed his path forever.

Backstage:

After flattening Doofus Covfefe with a devastating chokeslam onto the steel steps, Black Mass carries the mysterious woman backstage as the HCW crowd erupts in cheers. The camera follows them down the dimly lit corridors of the arena, his heavy boots echoing against the concrete floor. The woman clings to him, still in shock, as he strides forward without a word.

The scene transitions to a darker corner of the backstage area, where an ominous presence lingers.

Shrouded in flickering shadows, Count Vlad lounges against a steel crate, his fingers tapping rhythmically against his cane. His piercing gaze is locked on the hallway where Black Mass disappeared. Beside him, Talia Nocturne leans forward slightly, her head tilted in unnatural curiosity, her painted lips twisting into an unsettling grin. Her fingers twitch excitedly against her forearm, nails scraping against her own skin as if barely containing some manic energy. A low, breathy giggle escapes her throat.

Talia Nocturne (almost whispering, delighted): “Ohhh, I see what’s happening now...”

Vlad barely glances at her, his smirk creeping across his face like a slow-moving snake.

Count Vlad (calmly, intrigued): “And what, my dear, do you think you see?”

Talia doesn’t answer right away. Instead, she takes a deep, slow breath, her eyes fluttering half-shut as if savoring a delicious thought. Then, with a jerk of her head, she points down the hallway where Black Mass and the woman vanished.

Talia Nocturne (in a singsong tone): “Someone’s in my seat.”

A flicker of something dark and possessive crosses her face before she presses both hands to her cheeks, letting out a short, eerie laugh.

Talia Nocturne (grinning, intense): “She doesn’t belong there. He doesn’t know it yet, but he belongs to me.”

Vlad chuckles under his breath, shaking his head in amusement. He turns to Talia and places a hand on her shoulder, his voice low and measured, dripping with authority.

Count Vlad: “Patience, my dear. These things must unfold naturally.”

Talia pouts slightly, her fingers twitching again.

 Talia Nocturne: “Naturally?”

Her grin returns, but this time, there’s something far more dangerous behind it.

Talia Nocturne (softly, intensely): “That sounds… boring.”

Vlad only laughs, a deep, knowing chuckle—but before the screen fades out, movement emerges from the shadows.

Behind them, Dr. Red Fang and Nightfang step forward, their eyes glinting in the dim light. The Fangs of Despair have been listening the entire time. Dr. Red Fang sneers, his lips curling into a wicked grin as he rubs his hands together.

Dr. Red Fang (grinning, eerie): “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYBODY… but especially for her.”

Talia tilts her head, staring at Red Fang for a long, unsettling moment. Then she giggles, eerily synchronized with his laughter. Nightfang remains silent, his piercing gaze following the direction Black Mass went.

Jack ‘Timberfang’ Lumber and the Hardcore Champion, the Yeti (who will be defending his title tonight) join the group.

 Yeti:  “More meat.”

Count Vlad (mockingly amused, raising a brow): “Now, now, let’s not be too hasty. A good story needs its proper chapters. We mustn’t devour the meal before it’s been fully seasoned.”

 Talia Nocturne (softly, intensely): “Devour.”

He taps his cane against the ground, signaling the group’s attention back to him. The message is clear—Vlad is in control, and even the most twisted minds in Dark Dominion obey his pacing. Talia, Red Fang, and Nightfang nod, but an undercurrent of unsettling anticipation lingers in the air.

The camera lingers on Talia’s smile, which has now transformed into something far more sinister… before fading to black.

As we head back to the ring, music hits and out comes Owen ‘Orange Fury’ Zestwell.  The fans have accepted his change and once again embraced him.  He actually shakes hands with members of the audience and then enters the ring.  The music changes to an ominous tone and out comes Count Vlad and ‘Timberfang’ Jack Lumber.  The duo are booed heavily but for some reason, this time, it actually seems to get under Jack’s skin and bothers him.  Vlad noticed and whispers “You are Timberfang of the Dark Dominion.  Do what you do best…DOMINATE.”  Jack nods and gets into the ring and immediately attacks Owen as the ref rushes to have the bell rung to get this one officially started.

Match #3:  Jack Lumber w/Count Vlad vs Owen Zestwell

The match kicked off with Jack Lumber using his power to control the early moments, landing stiff kicks to Owen’s midsection. Owen, always one for theatrics, fired back with his signature Spit Orange Juice, temporarily blinding Lumber.

Mike 'The Voice' Johnson: "That’s one way to even the odds! Fresh-squeezed fury right to the face!"

Jack exited the ring trying to take a break when the Commando came in from the crowd and blasted Jack with a steel chair shot.  He takes off before he is noticed.

Jack shook it off and continued his relentless assault, nailing another kick to the midsection and shrugging off Owen’s dropkick. But then, the air in the arena shifted as Count Vlad intervened with his sinister Evil Eye. Owen tried to fight it off but faltered, allowing Jack to take advantage.

Johnny 'The Hammer' Harris: "You can feel the chill when Vlad gets involved, Mike! That wasn’t just intimidation—Owen’s in trouble!"

With the upper hand, Jack delivered The Axe, nearly putting Owen away. Owen barely kicked out at two, refusing to go down. Jack followed up with an Atomic Drop, but Owen gritted through the pain and fought back.

Both men went for big shots—Jack with TIMMMMBBEEERRRRR and Owen with a Slow Motion Kick—but Owen had just enough left in the tank. He locked in his devastating Orange Squeeze submission hold, and Jack had no escape.

Mike 'The Voice' Johnson: "Orange Squeeze! Lumber’s trapped in the juice press!"

Jack struggled but had no choice—he tapped out! Owen ‘Orange Fury’ Zestwell picked up the hard-fought victory.

Johnny 'The Hammer' Harris: "Owen just wrung out Lumber like an old dishrag! What a win!"

Before Owen could celebrate, Thaddeus Zestwell stormed the ring, blindsiding his brother! The two erupted into a wild brawl, spilling out of the ring and fighting their way to the back.

As the dust settled, Count Vlad stepped into the ring, looming over Jack. He chuckled darkly, shaking his head as if amused.  He helps Jack to his feet.

Count Vlad: "Ah, Jack… losses, like pain, are temporary. But the foundation we build? That is eternal. Let them celebrate now, let them believe they have won… because when the time comes, when the trap is sprung… their joy will turn to horror."

Mike 'The Voice' Johnson: "What the hell does that mean?! What trap?!"

Johnny 'The Hammer' Harris: "Mike, when Vlad starts speaking in riddles, it never ends well for anyone on the other side.

Match #4:  Hardcore Title Match:  The Yeti w/Count Vlad vs Outback Oscar

The Hardcore Champion the Yeti comes out first to massive booing from the crowd.  After growling and yelling at them, he continued his way to the ring.  He climbed in over the top rope and continued to incite the crowd.  Noticeably missing from his side is Count Vlad.  Yeti said he wasn’t going to have issues dispensing the backwoodsman and told Vlad he can do this on his own.  The crowd then popped as Outback Oscar, the former hardcore champion, comes out and shakes hands with the fans as he makes his way to the ring.  He climbs in and shows no fear to the Yeti.  Yeti says the rules are Boston Massacre rules and demands the bell be rung.

The match kicked off with both men trying to establish dominance early on, Oscar utilizing his speed and brawling ability while Yeti relied on his brute strength. Yeti looked to slow things down with a headlock, but Oscar fought out and cracked him with a stiff back elbow to the face! Yeti responded with a vicious stomp to Oscar’s face, setting the tone for a brutal showdown.

As the minutes ticked by, the advantage swung back and forth. Oscar locked in the Outback Stretch, but Yeti refused to tap, absorbing the pain like a true monster. Yeti returned fire with a Bearhug, squeezing the air out of Oscar’s lungs. But the Aussie fighter kept coming, delivering a Swinging Neckbreaker and his devastating Tupperware Concerto!

Mike ‘the Voice’ Johnson: "Oscar is trying everything in his arsenal, but The Yeti just keeps getting back up!"

Johnny ‘the Hammer’ Harris: "That’s what makes him so dangerous, Mike! You can’t stop this guy with just one big move!"

Oscar came close to victory multiple times, dragging Yeti around the ring in an attempt to score a win via four-corner touch, but the monster kept breaking his momentum. Yeti nearly sealed the deal after spiking Oscar with a Tombstone Piledriver, but the resilient Aussie kicked out!

Mike "The Voice" Johnson: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to an absolute war zone! Outback Oscar and The Yeti are throwing everything they’ve got at each other in this no disqualification brawl!"

Johnny "The Hammer" Harris: "You can say that again, Voice! These two have been beating each other senseless for over 20 minutes, and there’s still no clear winner in sight!"

 Then, chaos erupted.

JAX BRENNER stormed down to the ring, making a beeline for The Yeti!

Mike ‘the Voice’ Johnson: "Wait a minute! That’s Jax Brenner! And remember, folks—this is NO DISQUALIFICATION!"

Brenner and Yeti traded massive blows at ringside before Jax gained the upper hand. With a sickening thud, he smashed Yeti with the steel steps, sending the big man crashing to the floor. The Alaskan Wildman wasn’t done—he picked up the steps again and drilled Yeti in the skull, knocking him senseless.

Johnny ‘the Hammer’ Harris: "Brenner just flattened The Yeti! That’s like taking down a freakin’ glacier!"

Jax, satisfied with his destruction, rolled Yeti back into the ring, right into the waiting arms of Outback Oscar. Wasting no time, Oscar hit the devastating Give Me Liberty or Give Me Thumbtacks!, planting Yeti hard into the mat.

Mike ‘the Voice’ Johnson: "Oscar’s got him! He touches one corner… two… three… AND FOUR! That’s it!"

Johnny ‘the Hammer’ Harris: "It took a steel step beatdown from Jax Brenner, but Outback Oscar just put down The Yeti!"

Outback Oscar stood tall, battered and bruised but victorious, while Brenner looked down at the fallen Yeti, his message sent loud and clear.  He takes his title, holds it high and then leaves the ring.

Mike ‘the Voice’ Johnson: "This rivalry just got a whole lot more personal! You better believe The Yeti isn’t going to take this lying down!"

Johnny ‘the Hammer’ Harris: "Oh, you know he’s coming for blood, Mike. And when he does, all hell is gonna break loose!"

Winner: Outback Oscar (via touching all four corners)

Backstage, World Ladies Champion Luciana Albano and her manager Pierre Boulay are conferring with the Cummings twins.  Luciana tells them they need to hold up their end tonight and not be a weak link like Ashley Summers.  Betsy and Felicia promise to give it their all.  They head to the ring.  Pierre looks at Luciana and shrugs and they then head to the ring.

Match #5:  The Main Event:  Talia Nocturne, Selena Blackfang & Korbi Kong w/Count Vlad vs The Cummings Twins and Luciana Albano w/Pierre Boulay

Talia                                Selena                       Korbi                           Count Vlad

VS

Betsy Felicia     Luciana Pierre

The eerie and enigmatic La Femme NocturnalSelena 'Widow's Fang' Blackfang, Talia Nocturne, and Korbi Kong, led by the sinister Count Vlad—clashed with the reigning World Ladies Champion Luciana Albano and the Cummings Twins (Betsy & Felicia Cummings) alongside their manager Pierre Boulay. With 'Honest' Abe officiating, the tension was thick as the two factions faced off in the ring.

The match began with Selena Blackfang locking up with Luciana Albano, but it quickly turned into a numbers game. The shadowy trio isolated the champion, trapping her in their corner as they delivered a devastating triple-team assault. Selena showcased her power with a Fallaway Slam, Talia Nocturne followed with a Pendulum Backbreaker, and then the monstrous Korbi Kong flattened Albano with a thunderous Scoop Powerslam.

Mike 'the Voice' Johnson exclaimed, "La Femme Nocturnal is like a pack of wolves picking apart their prey!"

Johnny 'the Hammer' Harris followed up: "Luciana Albano might be the champion, but right now, she's getting mauled like a rookie!"

Despite the punishment, Albano refused to stay down, showing her championship resilience. After an initial struggle, she countered a second assault from Selena and turned the tide with a high-impact Electric Chair Facebuster before scrambling to tag in Betsy Cummings.

With fresh energy, Betsy came in swinging, immediately engaging Talia Nocturne. The two exchanged strikes, neither backing down. Betsy locked in a tight Front Facelock, trying to wear Nocturne down, but the gothic grappler slipped free and responded with a whiplash-inducing Slingblade. Before she could capitalize, Betsy tagged in Felicia, bringing in more reinforcements.

Felicia looked to make a statement, working over Korbi Kong with a targeted Armbar, trying to neutralize the powerhouse. But Korbi, showing her brute strength, shrugged off the pain and countered with a Running Shoulder Block that sent Felicia sprawling.

Johnny 'the Hammer' Harris: "That’s what happens when you try to chop down a sequoia with a pocket knife!"

The chaos only escalated when Felicia, Betsy, and Luciana coordinated their own triple-team offense against Korbi Kong! Felicia rocked her with a Leaping Snapmare, Luciana added another Electric Chair Facebuster, and Betsy followed up with a second Leaping Snapmare, nearly keeping the powerhouse down.

With exhaustion setting in, Korbi Kong tagged out to Selena Blackfang, while Felicia Cummings re-entered the match. Selena wasted no time, taking Felicia down with a Cloverleaf submission, wrenching back as Felicia screamed in pain.

Pierre Boulay pounded on the mat, shouting words of encouragement, while Luciana Albano and Betsy Cummings urged Felicia not to tap.

Felicia barely managed to escape, but Talia Nocturne was waiting. After tagging in, she caught Luciana Albano mid-move, dragging her into the dreaded Nightmare Choke! Albano frantically flailed, fading fast—until Betsy Cummings made the save!

In the commotion, Count Vlad seized his moment. As Felicia re-entered the ring, he executed a perfectly timed distraction, delivering his eerie Antagonize Foe tactic. Confused and off balance, Felicia walked straight into a second Nightmare Choke from Talia Nocturne!

Mike 'the Voice' Johnson: "Talia Nocturne has it locked in tight—Felicia is fading fast!"

Johnny 'the Hammer' Harris: "There’s no escape! Welcome to the dark side!"

Felicia had no choice—her hand hit the mat three times!

Winners: La Femme Nocturnal (Selena Blackfang, Talia Nocturne, & Korbi Kong) by Submission

With Felicia Cummings left motionless on the canvas, La Femme Nocturnal stood victorious, with Count Vlad reveling in yet another victory. Luciana Albano and Betsy Cummings pulled Felicia out of the ring, seething with frustration as Pierre Boulay fumed on the outside.

Johnny 'the Hammer' Harris closed it out: "La Femme Nocturnal just proved why they are one of the most dominant factions in HCW! The darkness rises once again!"

With that, tonight's show comes to an end.  But wait, the former Hardcore Champion the Yeti makes his way to the ring.  He has something in his hand as he climbs in and Count Vlad gives him a mic.

Yeti: Jax Brenner, you may have cost me my Hardcore title, but mark my words, this is far from over. You think you've taken something from me? I'm going to finish taking everything from you. I started with your family —including that sweet Suzie. But your pride, your spirit  … will also follow.

[Yeti sneers as he mentions Suzie, reaching down and lifting a blood-stained blue blanket to the camera, a malicious smile spreading across his face.]

Yeti: And can you really trust Molly? Do you know where her loyalties lie? She deserves better than you, Brenner.

Count Vlad (interrupting with a sinister smile): The bond of trust is fragile, Brenner, easily shattered like ice under pressure. You should be wary, for those closest to you can be the ones to strike the hardest.

Yeti: I’m going to break you, Jax. Physically, mentally, spiritually. Every part of you will crumble under the weight of my fury. You think you’ve seen the extent of my wrath? You have no idea what’s coming your way.

Count Vlad (nodding in agreement): The darkness within you, Yeti, will consume him. Brenner's end is near.

Yeti: And as for the Hardcore title...Outback Oscar or whoever I deem unworthy, consider it a temporary possession. Hold it tightly, because once I'm done destroying Brenner, I will be back to claim my rightful prize.

[Yeti's eyes glint with cold determination as he steps closer to the camera, his presence imposing and fierce. As he steps forward the camera catches a folded letter sticking out of Yeti’s pocket  with a lipstick imprint and the initials M.M.]

Yeti: Brenner, your downfall is inevitable. Prepare yourself. The power of the Alpha Beast will bring glory to the Dark Dominion.

[The camera pans away, catching a final glimpse of Yeti's intense glare and Count Vlad's eerie grin as the promo ends. Yeti then holds up the picture of a young girl.]

 Stay Tuned.  More to come.
