HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2024 #1038 - 10/5

Hello Wrestling Fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.  After their loss to the New Sicilians in the Heritage Tag Team tournament finals, the 5th Column has declared war against the Sons of Anarchy and those two teams will meet up tonight.  We will also have a #1 contenders match between the Million Dollar Alliance and Steel Justice.  In the main event, Ladies World Champion Korbi Kong will defend her title against one of the devious twins – Felicia Cummings.  Korbi is making a case to have Betsy banned from ringside although if she had to, we know she’d hold her own.  All this and more are coming tonight so let’s get this show on the road.

We start off backstage in the office of GM Max McGillicutty.  Max has Juan Raul Fargo and Alejandro Guerrero there.  Max tells them they are fined $20K EACH for the backstage issue with Ethan and Rafa.  Just then, the two newbies enter Max’s office and JR and Alejandro stand up immediately.  Max tells them to take a seat.  Ethan says he and Rafael talked it over and they want a rematch against JR and Alejandro.  Max looks at the two heels and then tells Ethan that he will make the match for next week.  They leave and Max tells JR and Alejandro that they are off the show tonight and need to leave.  He says that if they show up before next week, he will hit them with another fine…maybe he’ll even double it,  JR and Alejandro get up and leave.  Security ensure the duo leave the arena.

Match #1:  Luna Shadow vs Selena ‘Widow’s Fang’ Blackfang w/ Count Vlad

Selena Blackfang comes out first accompanied by her manager Count Vlad to a chorus of booing from the fans and they head to the ring.  Neither Selena nor Vlad get on the mic which is a rarity these days. They just stand and wait for her opponent.  Luna Shadow comes out to a nice pop from the crowd and she shakes hands with the fans as she makes her way to the ring.  Count Vlad whispers something to Selena and she nods.  Vlad leaves the ring and goes to sit at commentary with the announcers.  After a moment, the match begins.

Selena opened strong, executing a brutal powerbomb that left Luna struggling early.

"That's the kind of viciousness you expect from the Widow's Fang!" shouted Johnny "the Hammer" Harris as Selena gained an early lead. Mike "the Voice" Johnson noted, "Luna's not out yet, Hammer. She's taken worse and bounced back."

Luna responded in the second minute with her signature Nightfall Neckbreaker, rattling Selena. "Luna's got heart, but heart doesn't win matches," Count Vlad sneered from the commentary table, clearly biased as Selena absorbed the damage.

Just when it seemed Luna was gaining momentum, hitting the Twilight Powerbomb in the third minute, Count Vlad intervened, distracting Luna, which shifted the tide of the match back to Selena. "Vlad's interference is making all the difference," Johnson remarked with frustration.

Selena capitalized, delivering a relentless series of headbutts, snap suplexes, and a fallaway slam, keeping Luna on the defensive for the next few rounds. "Selena's not giving Luna a moment to breathe," observed Harris, while Count Vlad smiled and commented, "That’s why she's part of my Dark Dominion."

Despite Luna's brief rally, Selena sealed the victory with another devastating fallaway slam, pinning Luna (with a handful of tights) for the 1-2-3.

As the bell rang, Vlad gloated, "As expected—Selena dominates."

Count Vlad entered the ring and raised Selena’s hand as the victor but Luna was not happy with the cheating.  I’m sure she isn’t going to let this one go. All competitors eventually left.

HCW in-house Forensic investigator Gardinia Blue meets up with GM Max McGillicutty in his office and lets him know she’s decided to look into why the New Sicilians had so many buys throughout the Heritage Tag Team Tournament.  Max tells her dig as deep as she needs to and to keep him informed.  Just as the segment was ending, we see someone lurking in the shadows.

Match #2:  5th Column vs Sons of Anarchy Stache / Drew

In a highly anticipated grudge match, the Sons of Anarchy, comprised of Son of Drew and Son of Stache, squared off against The 5th Column's Baron Von Blood and Oswald Zimmerman. Tensions were high, as The 5th Column had been seething over their loss in the Heritage Tag Team Tournament finals, where they blamed the Sons of Anarchy for their downfall. This match was set up as a direct response to settle the score.

From the opening bell, Son of Drew took immediate control, catching Baron Von Blood off guard with a powerful superkick, almost securing an early victory. However, Baron Von Blood managed to kick out just before the three-count, showing resilience. The battle swung back and forth as both teams tagged in and out, with Zimmerman stepping in to deliver a brutal elbow to the base of Son of Drew's skull, gaining the upper hand.

The Sons of Anarchy refused to back down, with Son of Drew dazzling the crowd with a high-flying handstand headscissors, turning the tide back in his team’s favor. But Zimmerman wasn’t about to let them keep control, unleashing another series of devastating attacks. The match escalated into chaos as The 5th Column's teamwork shined, with Baron Von Blood and Zimmerman double-teaming Son of Drew, hitting him with a vicious combination of moves that nearly put the Sons away.

Just when it seemed like The 5th Column had full control, Son of Drew managed to tag in Son of Stache, who came in hot, taking out Baron Von Blood with the Handlebar (Camel Clutch), applying immense pressure on the veteran. Baron, however, refused to submit, and the fight raged on. The teams continued to exchange blows, with Baron trying to secure a pin after a Blitzkrieg Stunner, but Son of Stache kicked out in a gutsy display of endurance.

As the battle wore on, Son of Stache and Son of Drew worked together to land a series of double-team maneuvers on Oswald Zimmerman. Their teamwork was impeccable, with Son of Stache hitting a brutal Tombstone piledriver, followed by Son of Drew rolling Zimmerman into a La Casita, pushing The 5th Column to the brink. Despite a low blow from Zimmerman, The Sons of Anarchy weren’t deterred and continued their relentless assault.

In the match's final moments, Son of Stache and Son of Drew combined their efforts to put Oswald Zimmerman down once and for all, hitting him with The Lasso and a flurry of double-team moves capped by a Tombstone Piledriver from Son of Stache that sealed the victory for the Sons of Anarchy.

Mike 'The Voice' Johnson: "What a war between these two teams! The Sons of Anarchy proving they are here to stay with a HUGE win over The 5th Column!"

Johnny 'The Hammer' Harris: "Yeah, but you know The 5th Column isn’t going to take this lying down! They’re dangerous, and I have a bad feeling about this, Mike."

And Johnny's instincts were right. As the Sons of Anarchy celebrated their hard-fought victory, Baron Von Blood and Oswald Zimmerman launched a brutal post-match assault, grabbing steel chairs and relentlessly attacking Son of Drew and Son of Stache. The crowd erupted in boos as The 5th Column laid waste to their rivals, leaving the Sons of Anarchy battered in the ring.

Mike 'The Voice' Johnson: "This is despicable! Baron and Zimmerman can’t stand losing, so they’re resorting to this cowardly attack!"

Johnny 'The Hammer' Harris: "It’s an all-out assault! The 5th Column is sending a message loud and clear – this is far from over between these teams!"

The segment ended with the Sons of Anarchy left writhing in pain, while The 5th Column stood tall, steel chairs in hand, vowing revenge. The war between these two teams is far from finished.  Baron and Oswald left the ring and the Sons of Anarchy were helped to the back.Bottom of Form

Match #3:  The Commando vs Mountain Man Junior Huber

Junior Huber, a mountain of a man, comes out first to booing from the crowd.  He climbs up the stairs to the ring and enters by stepping over the top rope.  The Commando Zack Brown comes out next to a pretty loud pop from the crowd.  He shakes hands with the fans and then makes his way to the ring.  He starts to climb the steps and turns to acknowledge the fans.  Junior sneaks up from behind him and grabs him by the neck and then begins pummeling him with huge forearm smashes to the chest.  He then pulls Zack into the ring and throws him to the mat yelling at him to get up.  Shaking off the cobwebs, Zack gets to his feet and looks determined.  He is not backing down from the 6’6” monster.

Top of Form Zack "Commando" Brown and Mountain Man Junior Huber clashed in an intense, hard-hitting match that had the HCW crowd on the edge of their seats. Brown took control early with a brutal backbreaker, keeping Huber on the defensive. "Commando Brown is taking no prisoners tonight!" Mike "The Voice" Johnson called. But Junior Huber wasn't one to be outdone, absorbing punishment and rallying back with a devastating Bearhug and a bodypress out of the ring, forcing Brown to rethink his strategy. "Mountain Man Junior is as tough as they come, folks," Johnny "The Hammer" Harris chimed in.

As the minutes ticked by, Brown unleashed his signature Lawman Lariat multiple times, but Huber kept kicking out and fighting back. The action spilled outside the ring, with Brown tossing Huber over the ropes, only for the Mountain Man to barely make it back before the count-out. "You can’t keep a Huber down for long!" Johnson shouted. The momentum shifted back and forth as both men traded powerful moves like Brown’s Bossman Slam and Huber’s Delayed Vertical Suplex.

In the final minutes, Huber hit a huge Family Interference, while Brown responded with a devastating Sniper Strike. "This could be anyone's match!" Harris exclaimed. Despite Huber’s family interference and sheer brute strength, Zack "Commando" Brown sealed the victory with a punishing Shoulder Block, earning the hard-fought win. "What a battle! Zack 'Commando' Brown stands tall tonight!" Johnson declared as the bell rang.  (30 min draw)

Backstage, Evan Stockwell and the Rich Athlete with Ruth Heartless are watching the monitor.  The Rich Athlete snorts in derision “And this guy thinks he deserves to be in the ring with me?  Not in this universe.  WOOO.”  Ruth says “You’re right Rich Athlete.  This Commando can’t even tie your shoelaces, much less spell the word.”  The trio laugh and Ruth tells them it’s time to head to the ring for their match.

Match #4:  Million Dollar Alliance vs Steel Justice for the #1 Contenders to the World TT titles

Steel Justice – Kellyn Chrisari and Alex Justice make their way out first to a huge pop from the crowd.  They interact with the fans and then enter the ring.  The music changes and the fans boo as the Million Dollar Alliance makes their way out.  Evan threatens to hit a couple of fans with his briefcase but barely holds back.  Rich Athlete and Evan enter the ring.  Ruth takes the briefcase and Rich Athlete’s robe and sets them at the commentary desk.

This intense tag team bout between Evan Stockwell & The Rich Athlete and Steel Justice (Kellyn "The Raven Archer" Chrisari & Alex "Skyhawk" Justice) kicked off with high-energy double-team moves. Stockwell sent Chrisari crashing into the turnbuckle, and The Rich Athlete followed up with his signature Seven-Figure Suplex, but Steel Justice fired back. Chrisari soared with a Raven's Flight, while Justice delivered a powerful Winged Uppercut, putting both teams on notice.

Johnny “The Hammer” Harris shouted, “This is what tag team wrestling is all about! The speed, the power—unreal!”

As the match progressed, Ruth Heartless tried to distract Chrisari, but he turned the tables with Raven’s Retribution, catching Stockwell off guard. “Stockwell looks dazed, but he’s still in this!” noted Mike "The Voice" Johnson.

Stockwell fought back, slamming Chrisari into the turnbuckle, and tagged in The Rich Athlete. Justice answered with a stunning crossbody off the top rope, nearly securing a pinfall. “That was close! Skyhawk’s got the momentum now!” Harris exclaimed.

The Rich Athlete soon retaliated, chopping Justice across the chest and hurling him out of the ring. Justice responded with a breathtaking dive to the outside, but the referee’s count caught both men by surprise, leading to a double count-out.

“What a match! Neither team wanted to back down, but the count took them both out!” Mike Johnson commented, as the bell rang signaling a double count out.

After the match, as the dust was settling, the Banker appeared out of nowhere, snatching Stockwell’s briefcase from ringside. Before anyone could react, the Banker slid into the ring and blasted Stockwell in the head with the briefcase. He then hit his signature Deposit Diving DDT onto the briefcase, leaving Stockwell motionless on the mat.

“Oh my God! The Banker just leveled Stockwell!” yelled Harris, as the crowd erupted.

The Banker stood tall, mocking Ruth Heartless from the ring with a smug grin. Before any further damage could be done, The Rich Athlete stormed the ring, wielding a steel chair. The Banker made a quick exit, but the damage was already done, leaving Stockwell down as The Rich Athlete fumed.

“The Banker’s got no business out here, and he just sent a message!” Johnson declared. “This rivalry between the Financial Maverick and the Banker is far from over.”

Steel Justice made their way to the back.  Ruth and the Rich Athlete helped Evan up but he needed assistance getting to the back.

Backstage:

[Phone rings. Count Vlad, in his dark office, answers.]

Count Vlad: Vlad here.

Unknown Caller: Vlad, it’s me again. I thought you should know that Gardinia Blue, the HCW forensic investigator, is looking into all the byes the New Sicilians got in the Heritage Tag Team Tournament.

Count Vlad: (chuckles) As expected. Gardinia is indeed very good at what she does.

Unknown Caller: She’s digging deep, Vlad. She’s determined to find something.

Count Vlad: Let her dig. No matter how skilled she is or how deep she goes, she will never find anything I don’t want found.

Unknown Caller: Understood. I’ll keep monitoring the situation and let you know if anything changes.

Count Vlad: Excellent. Remember, our plans are always several steps ahead. Keep me updated.

Unknown Caller: Will do. Stay vigilant, Vlad.

Count Vlad: Always.

[Call ends.]

Match #5:  The Main Event: Ladies World title match:  Champion Korbi Kong vs Felicia Cummings

Felicia Cummings comes out first with her twin Betsy and the crowd boos them really loudly.  Before they can head to the ring, GM Max McGillicutty comes out and tells Betsy she is not allowed within 100 feet of that ring.  If she thinks she can buy a ticket to sit at ringside or try to go hide under the ring if the lights go out, she can forget it.  He says that if she interferes in any way, Felicia, her twin, will be fired.  Betsy, grundging, accepts and heads to the back.  Felicia storms down to the ring.  Max leaves.  The music changes and we hear “KORBI KONG SMASH” and out comes the Ladies World Champion.  Korbi stands tall on the stage holding her title high as she gets the loudest pop of the night.  She makes her way to the ring briefly stopping at her fan club Clan Kong and then heads to the ring.  Felicia is ready for action and demands the match begin immediately.

Korbi gets the win and adds another W to her record.  She celebrates with the fans until Selena Blackfang comes in from the crowd and attacks Korbi.  She was expecting it so she wasn’t completely blindsided.  The two women traded blows and security rushed out to break it up.  Each woman managed to get past the security and attack the other.  Finally, Selena left with a smirk on her face knowing she’s gotten under the skin of the Ladies World Champion.  Selena walks up the ramp backwards motioning she is going to take Korbi’s title.  Korbi glared at her from the ring and relaxed against security.  The show then came to an end as Korbi went back to celebrating with the fans.

As the camera stopped rolling, GM Max McGillicutty came out and said that tonight’s crowd has been electric and says that he and Korbi already spoke about it and if Selena came out tonight, Korbi would want her in the ring.  Max then orders Selena back to the ring for a non-title match with Korbi Kong.  The fans popped huge.  Count Vlad came out and said that Selena is under his tutelage, and he is heading to the ring to manage her to victory.  Max stops him and says that this is not an official match, just a treat for the fans so he is NOT needed at ringside as Selena should be able to stand on her own.  Count Vlad starred daggers at Max and storms behind the curtain.  Max then tells the ref to give the fans one more treat and to start this match.

Match #6:  Dark Match: Korbi Kong vs. Selena "Widow's Fang" Blackfang (Non-Title Match)

In front of a roaring crowd, the HCW Women’s Champion, Korbi Kong, squared off in a non-title bout against Selena "Widow's Fang" Blackfang. With Count Vlad banned from ringside, Selena appeared alone, while Korbi, as always, exuded dominance.

As the match began, the two women locked up in the center of the ring. Korbi used her power advantage to shove Selena back into the corner. Selena grinned, taunting Korbi, who charged forward with a shoulder block, knocking Selena to the mat.

Mike "The Voice" Johnson: "Korbi’s power is unmatched, and Selena just felt that firsthand!"

Johnny "The Hammer" Harris: "Selena's smart, though. She won’t try to match strength with Korbi. She’s going to find a way to use that speed and cunning."

Selena circled the ring, avoiding Korbi’s strikes and focusing on quick counters. She managed to get Korbi into a side headlock, but Korbi powered out, lifting Selena into the air and slamming her down with a backdrop. Selena winced in pain as Korbi pulled her up for a big scoop slam, rattling the mat.

Korbi pressed the advantage, hitting the ropes and going for a splash, but Selena rolled out of the way just in time. Selena seized the opportunity, striking with a series of stiff kicks to Korbi’s legs, trying to chop the champion down. Korbi stumbled but remained on her feet, her endurance keeping her strong.

Selena changed tactics, hitting the ropes and leaping off for a flying crossbody, but Korbi caught her mid-air. The champion hoisted Selena up into a gorilla press and hurled her halfway across the ring.

Johnny "The Hammer" Harris: "The strength of Korbi Kong is unreal! Did you see how far she just threw Selena?"

Mike "The Voice" Johnson: "I don't know if anyone in this division can handle Korbi at full power!"

Selena crawled to the corner, trying to regroup, but Korbi was relentless. She charged and drove her knee into Selena’s midsection, leaving her gasping for air. Korbi dragged Selena to the center of the ring, setting up for a Kong bomb, but Selena raked her eyes, stunning the champ.

Selena then took control, hitting a quick DDT to buy herself some time. As Korbi shook off the move and began to rise, Selena hit her with a running dropkick, sending Korbi tumbling into the ropes. Selena followed up with a springboard elbow to the back of Korbi’s head, briefly knocking the powerhouse off her game.

Mike "The Voice" Johnson: "Selena’s using every trick in the book to keep Korbi down, but how long can she hold her off?"

The match continued with Korbi fighting back, connecting with a series of clotheslines and a spinebuster that left Selena laid out. Just as Korbi looked to finish things with her devastating Kong Bomb, Beastfang made his way down the ramp, causing a distraction.

Johnny "The Hammer" Harris: "What is Beastfang doing here? He’s not supposed to be involved!"

Korbi glanced toward the entrance, shouting at Beastfang to back off. This momentary distraction allowed Selena to capitalize. She quickly hit Korbi with a Butterfly DDT, driving the champion’s head hard into the mat.

Mike "The Voice" Johnson: "Selena with the Butterfly DDT! Korbi’s down!"

Without hesitation, Selena rolled Korbi up, grabbing a handful of tights out of the referee’s view for extra leverage.

Johnny "The Hammer" Harris: "She’s got the tights! She’s got the tights!"

The referee counted:
1... 2... 3!

Selena "Widow’s Fang" Blackfang had stolen the victory.

Mike "The Voice" Johnson: "Selena Blackfang just pinned the champion, but that was far from clean!"

Johnny "The Hammer" Harris: "Beastfang’s interference set it up perfectly. Korbi never had a chance to recover. Selena didn’t play fair, but a win is a win!"

Selena exited the ring and joined Beastfang, retreating with a sinister grin, and soaking in the boos from the crowd. Korbi Kong, furious at the outcome, glared up at the retreating Selena, vowing revenge.

Mike "The Voice" Johnson: "Korbi Kong doesn’t look happy, and I guarantee you, this is far from over!"

With that, our show comes to an end.  We know things are only heating up between Selena and Korbi so this is far from over.

Just as the cameras stopped rolling, this came across our Omegatron.  Dr. Red Fang interruption

If THAT is Dr. Red Fang, who the heck is on this roster?

Stay tuned to see what happens next.
