Hello
fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling
Newsletter. We have a lot of changes
happening behind the scenes but we will continue to do our best to bring up
updates on the action in a timely manner.
GM
Max McGillicutty comes out and thanks the fans for coming out. He reminds them that COVID restrictions are
still in place and asks for everyone to be safe. Max is then interrupted by Dash Woodbrick. Dash snatches the mic out of Max’s hand. He tells the fans that he did not
submit. They begin a chant “YOU TAPPED
OUT”. Dash continues to deny it and then
an ocean of signs that read “Dash tapped out” begin showing up all over the
arena. Dash tells Max to make them shut
up. Max shrugs his shoulders. Dash leaves in a huff. Max says that 4 of the 5 matches tonight will
be title matches. He doesn’t want to
waste any time so he leaves to get the show on the road.
Our
first match is ready to get underway.
First, Penny Hall makes her way out and the fans don’t really react
until she starts mouthing off and flipping them off. That got them moving. She gets in the ring and starts to yell for
her opponent saying she has somewhere to be after this match. The music changes and out comes Hayley
Hailstorm. Hayley looks and points to
the fans who respond with a huge pop.
She makes her way to the ring high fiving with the fans along the
way. She climbs into the ring and Penny
charges at her. Hayley grabs the top
rope pulling it down. Penny goes flying
over the top rope to the floor below.
Penny is pissed and slams her hands on the ring apron in
frustration. Hayley motions for Penny to
“bring it” and she climbs back in. She
is a little more cautious but the match finally begins. Hayley dominated the match starting it off by
nailing a Death Valley Driver and gets a 2 count. Hayley went for a second pin attempt after
hitting a roundhouse kick. Penny kicked
out. We now join the match at the 11
minute mark.

she catapults herself up the ladder and is within range of getting a Ladies
Title match. She interacts with the fans
briefly before heading to the back.
Backstage,
the Six Man Tag Team Champions Casper Wyoming, Dennis Marshall and Phantom
Frank are discussing their upcoming title defense tonight. Derek Deveraux walks in and says that he has
two of the biggest men in HCW in his corner.
“What do you have?” (btw, Derek was acting like a total tool) Dennis speaks up. “I’ll tell you what we have..we have the
elusive Phantom Frank. He’ll strike from
anywhere. We have Casper Wyoming who is
the toughest cowpoke this side of the Mississippi. Finally, you have me, Dennis Marshall, the
man who put Dash Woodbrick in his place…speaking of Dash, wasn’t it funny that
he wore a dress to get a shot at the Anytime/Anywhere title only to lose? Kinda funny if you ask me. THAT is who you are up against. In the immortal words of DJ, the Great One,
‘If you smell…what we…are…cookin’”.
Derek leads Redbeard and Ferguson out of the room.
Our
next match is ready to get underway.
First, Adam Jameson comes out first to a nice pop from the crowd. Once in the ring, the ref notifies Adam that
this match will be a bull rope match.
The ref attaches one end of the bull rope to Adam and waits for the
champion to come out. The lights go all
wonky and as soon as they adjust, Hardcore Champion Wilber Townsend is in the
ring and already is attached to the other end of the bull rope. The ref signals for the match to begin.

Townsend is victorious and has his arm raised in victory. Wilber gets on the mic and says that he is
the most dominant Hardcore Champion in the history of professional
wrestling. He is interrupted when over
the loudspeaker blares “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYBODY” and out comes Dr. Red
Fang and his manager the Ambassador. The
Ambassador has a mic. “No offense to
your wrestling ability but you are not, in any way, shape or form, the
‘greatest’ hardcore champion. This man,
this BEAST standing next to me has held that title more often than any other
wrestler. His time as champion is undisputed. Dr. Red Fang takes exception to your claim
and offers you a challenge.” Wilber
speaks “I’m listening”. The Ambassador
continues. “Dr. Red Fang proposes a
match at the House of Horrors PPV. The
title will be on the line and he is open to any match style you would
want.” Wilber ponders. “So if I choose a Scaffold, he’d be ok with
that?” The Ambassador nods yes. “If I chose a Hell in the Cell that would
suffice?” The Ambassador nods again. “There is only one match that is deserving of
this PPV…A Chamber of Horrors match where the loser is strapped to an electric
chair and is fried.” The Ambassador
laughs. “Fang was hoping you’d choose
that match. We’ll see you at the end of
October.” “Hang on a second” Wilber
says. “Fang won’t be meeting
Wilber…he’ll be meeting my alter ego…the Ghoul”. Wilber starts to laugh and the Ambassador is
no longer smiling. He leads Dr. Red Fang
away. Wilber eventually leaves the ring.
Backstage,
the Six Man Champions are being interviewed.
Dennis speaks for his team and says they are looking forward to the
match tonight. Casper says that even
though ‘the tower of hair’ (referencing Redbeard and Superquake’s long locks
and beard) will see what it means to go up against them. Dennis finishes it off with “If you smell
what we are cookin.” Phantom Frank says
“I’m not sure you should be using HIS catchphrase.”
Our
next title match is ready to go. First,
Derek Deveraux, Maximillian Redbeard and Superquake Ferguson come out to a nice
pop from the crowd. They shake hands
with the fans and make their way to the ring.
After they have a few minutes to interact with the fans, the music
changed and out comes the Six Man Tag Team Champions Dennis Marshall, Casper
Wyoming and Phantom Frank. They get a
loud pop and make their way to the ring high fiving fans as they make their way
down to and into the ring. The champs
hold their titles high and then hand them to the ref. The champs and challengers shake hands and go
to their respective corners. The bell
rings starting this one off.

head backstage and meet up with the US Champion Texas Wildfire. TW says that he knows he has a tough opponent
tonight in Ivan Dragovich but like Rocky did, he will overcome and win.
We
head to the ring again as Ivan Dragovich makes his way out. The crowd boos loudly and he flips them off
in response. He doesn’t waste any time
and makes his way into the ring. He
mocks the fans until the music changes and out comes the US Champion Texas
Wildfire. The fans pop huge for him as
he makes his way down to the ring. Ivan
dives through the ropes attacking Wildfire before the bell. Eventually the match made it back into the
ring. The two fought like wild dogs and
it wasn’t until the 11 minute mark that the champ started making some ground.

pop huge for him. As Ivan makes his way
to the back, Texas Wildfire stays at ringside to interact with the fans for a
few minutes before departing.
Backstage,
World Champion Jack Lumber is conducting an interview when he is interrupted by
his opponent tonight Matches Malone.
Malone says that Jack’s days as champion will end tonight and he, the
gangster to the stars, will take the most prestigious belt in the world and
call it his own. He and Jack stand nose
to nose and eventually Malone leaves.
Jack watches after him “We’ll see now won’t we?”
It’s
time for the main event. First, Matches
Malone comes out to massive booing from the crowd. He saunters down to the ring with a toothpick
in his mouth. A fan gets mouthy with him and he flicks the toothpick
at the fan. He laughs and makes his way
into the ring. The music changes almost
immediately and we hear “Choppin’ wood and lookin’ good” and out comes the
World Champion Jack Lumber. Jack stands
on the stage as the fans pop huge for him.
He begins walking to the ring but stops by the Lumber Lounge and
interacts with the fans there before continuing towards the ring. He climbs in to the ring and scales the
turnbuckle holding his title high. The
fans pop huge for him. He steps down and
hands his title to the ref. The ref calls
for the bell to start the match. Malone
didn’t provide much of a challenge to Lumber but he took the champ almost to
the limit. We jump to the 23rd
minute of the match.

rolling.
